This is very relaxing for me and the color blending is epic. Glad I found out about it.
So fun!

I love playing this game. The only thing I would add is showing the least amount of moves possible to solve the puzzles. But I like beating the average every time too!

Just a fantastic, actually relaxing, game. You aren’t bombarded with crappy ads over hours of gameplay. You don’t feel forced into buying in game currency. There’s no timer, only positive reinforcement. As this game will remind you- you ARE a shimmering unicorn.
pretty and fun
by Big Max 1 on 2020/02/17 03:25
it's not as simple as I thought, but fun and pretty. I only hope that at the end there are is more time to take a screenshot of the completion- as of now it's a mere second - definitely not enough, renders the canera useless
Progress Doesn’t Save

Great game, but progress isn’t saved from one completed puzzle to the next
calming and beautiful
by Amethyst_Girl_😎 on 2020/02/16 16:15
I love this game. It’s the same concept, but somehow each level seems interesting and new. This game is extremely calming and I think it’s very effective for helping with anxiety. It’s also satisfying, the way the colors fit together, and it is incredibly beautiful. Something about this game is special and just seems different than others. I hope they will continue to expand on this game and make even more levels.
Colours!!!

I’m enjoying this game very much. I love the colors, and the way my brain suddenly sees the right color for a space. I gladly paid a small amount to remove ads. Thanks to the developers for this imaginative game.

by S. ruht on 2020/02/13 01:13
This game is so satisfying and after every puzzle there’s always some sort of good thing. For example it’ll say you wonderful sunbeam. It’s just great ngl!❤️
Neat game. Too aggressive with ads.
by Home Desktop PC on 2020/02/12 23:22
Game forces a 30 second ad after each round after tutorial. Disrupts gameplay and proves frustrating. Find another way to monetize that encourages engagement. You’ve lost me.
Great for Anxiety
by MoriahJoan on 2020/02/12 19:51
I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder in high school. Since then I’ve been looking for a game that can calm me when I have to be out and about. Doing even one level while I’m excessively anxious is very grounding. I highly recommend this as an app for those who struggle with anxiety.

This game is so therapeutic. I can’t even believe how simple it is but it is the perfect level of engaging and fun plus not stressful and satisfying and beautiful. Perfect to unwind after anything stressful.
Soothing and intuitive
by Nik625 on 2020/02/11 04:23
It’s a nice, relaxing, intuitive experience. It reminds me of playing sodoku... but in a way that feels intuitive vs math driven.
So Relaxing!
by Jff777 on 2020/02/11 02:27
This game is really helpful to calm me down when I am feeling anxious. It gives me something to focus on and allows me to relax. I love that there are so many levels and they are all so beautiful. I am also an aspiring artist who struggles with color recognition, so it is very helpful in that way as well.
Thanks!

by puppylovejocieruff on 2020/02/10 15:36
Beware, if you’re easily addicted then this game isn’t for you!! This game is so relaxing and fun, you simply can’t get bored of it because every level is something new. It’s one of those games to play on rode trips, plane rides, or if you’re needing something to do. There’s so many levels and you don’t have to do them in order either! This game is for everyone and all skill levels. I don’t usually write reviews for games but this game just had to get one! You should try it out!
Prisms
by alainam1229 on 2020/02/10 14:19
It’s a great game, but instead of having to use prisms to play the levels, have a special level at the end of the stage and use the prisms for that.
The best game ever!!
by R$CH333 on 2020/02/10 08:12
I’ve never written a review for a game before like the one I’m about to write. This is my favorite game. It’s so relaxing and just amazing. The ads aren’t long at all and they so kindly put a skip button on every one and they give you free diamonds everyday which is so nice of them to do because most games make you pay. My favorite part of the game is if you beat the world average on how many moves it takes you they give you a cute little message. This game is so relaxing and I can’t get off of it!!
BEST GAME EVER
by Nickname Here______ on 2020/02/10 05:59
I am surprised by how this game exceeded my expectations. I downloaded it thinking it was just the sort of meditation app to soothe stress. I am the kind of person who downloads apps and games to see what it is about and deletes it if I’m not amused. I downloaded this game and played it. I was half wrong and half right. It’s not a meditation game but it does relax you. You match the colors until you complete it. It sounds boring, but it’s actually the best game I’ve ever downloaded. It’s super addicting and all my friends think I’m crazy about this app. (I am) I cant stress enough how good this game is. Please send support to the creator!
good but lots of ads
by sourpatchx on 2020/02/10 05:06

There’s something about this game that is truly amazing. It’s therapeutic and easy to get lost in. The compliments upon completing levels and topping world averages are very nice and genuinely make you feel good. The hear that appears upon level completion definitely adds some beauty to the game as well. Amazing game.

I don’t usually enjoy games, but this is contemplative rather than competitive. I love seeing how the colours seem to change character depending on which other colours they’re next to. They say I can “skip” to the next level, but I don’t want to miss a single puzzle.

Anxiety and Panic attack distraction
by Namimakimono on 2020/02/04 23:44
I feel in love with this game when I first found it! Blending the colours is a great challenge to keep your mind sharp. I have horrible anxiety and panic attacks (even with medicine) and one time during one, I started playing this and focusing on the game helped so much. I’m happy to see the sequel coming out and know it will help me too. If anyone with anxiety problems reads this trust me, this helps quite a lot. I hope anyone from the development team reads this. I just wanted to say thank you so very much for this game. It might not sound like it but being able to stop 1 panic attack had me in tears from being relieved. Again, thank you so much! (^~^)
Love this game
by jdksodjfndjksoqz on 2020/02/04 16:44
Once those colors are jumbled up and I start picking apart the mess, it can instantly pull me out of my anxiety and give me something to focus on and breathe. This app is amazing for anyone who likes to look at colors.

Great Puzzle Game
by Hanatachi on 2020/01/30 16:07
I don’t usually do review like this but this is a nice casual puzzle game that’s easy to learn but hard to master as you start getting into progressively longer levels. There are ads but I have actually been contemplating supporting this lovely game and purchasing the no ad version.

Love the game, hate the ads
by actuallyatchley on 2020/01/28 00:33
I’ve had the app downloaded for two years now, and I love the game. However, all it’s stress relieving and anxiety suppressing powers are exponentially diminished when I have to watch an ad after playing a level. Yes, I could just buy a prism pack to get rid of the ads but I already have over a thousand prisms! I for sure recommend downloading this beautifully designed game, but the ads are very annoying.
Five star game, negative ten star premium currency system
by McSnee on 2020/01/24 21:01
The game is beautiful, relaxing, and addictive. But it requires premium currency "prisms" that regenerate on a remarkably slow timer to play. Always happy to throw a publisher a few bucks to turn off ads or to buy a game outright to avoid dealing with dumb, non-gameplay-related limitations to progress. That's not an option here. Eliminate prisms, and this is a five-star game. As it stands, I can't recommend it at all.
Beautiful
by pelladine on 2020/01/24 19:54
Playing with color is so soothing. I love this game. The encouragements are seem a bit too cute in the context of the complex, beautiful color.
Wonderful concept
by Avalovesart on 2020/01/23 10:04
This game has a wonderful concept and with a few tweaks could be even better. A lot of people have commented about the calming nature of the game. The intro music is the first thing I noticed which contributed to my own sense of calm within the game. However, I wish there was an option for the music to continue playing during game play. Second, I enjoy the idea of different levels and the motivating messages shown at completion of a puzzle. However, I wish there were more diversity in puzzle shapes even at the lower levels of the game. Although the higher levels are more mentally engaging, there are many times I would prefer a simple game with less challenge. That is possible at the lower levels, but the puzzles feel nearly the same given the square pieces for every single puzzle. Finally, despite my minor requests for improvements, this is a nice game with a different approach to engaging users and I enjoy playing it several times a week.
Relaxing, fun, and beautiful
by J-No3-3 on 2020/01/23 08:04
This is the perfect game to play before falling asleep or when you want to relax. The levels can get challenging but not in the way that stresses me out. And it’s so pretty. I love colors and seeing these come together just right, with the soothing music in the background, makes for just about the perfect game. I’ll add that there are ads but not a lot and so worth it for this free game

Love it!
by GeneralRhapsodos on 2020/01/15 04:24
This game is so good and so relaxing. Only once have I ever “had”to buy prisms to keep playing (mostly cause I was impatient) and that single 20 or under purchase has kept me going for months easily. It gives you prisms every day for logging in too. I haven’t had to pay to unlock a single level and I’m well over 100 puzzles deep. Some levels are very easy too! Though the further I’ve gotten I’ve had to ‘cheat’ once or twice and run a screenshot through a negative filter because I couldn’t for the life of me see where i had mismatched tiles because the differences were so subtle.
An Amazing Introduction into the Study of Art
by APrettyRandomAccount on 2020/01/14 22:39
This game is beautiful, addicting, and inspiring due to the calming music, purposely vibrant colors, and small messages at the end of each level that fill you with determination! Now this isn’t all this masterpiece is, it is even an entertaining form of learning about a very important piece of the Color Theory, mentioned in the name, hues. When my sister introduced this game to me, I had no idea what I was doing for I didn’t know how the colors would blend into each other. Now, months later, I am the one introducing it to my friends and basically showing my mastery of hues. Overall incredible game and amazing theme!
Amazing!
by Jilli101 on 2020/01/14 04:45
My favorite game of all time. I finished the game last year or so but don’t have it in me to delete it. The colors are so satisfying and the puzzle itself is so much fun to play! Ice recommended this game to everyone I know just because of how much I love it. My only wish is that they came out with more levels :(
Challenging & Addictive
by 44BROB44 on 2020/01/14 00:07
Overwhelming at first but gets easier the more you play, I’m hooked! Gameplay is smooth and looks incredible on my iPhone 8+. Ads after each level but most can be skipped after only a couple seconds so no complaints. Highly recommend.
Relaxing, but stimulating
by Krhlane on 2020/01/11 03:28
This game is extremely interesting and fun, because it tests your ability to compare colors. I like how it tests your ability to find the pattern to make the hues merge together in a perfect gradient. Sometimes, the different but extremely similar dark blues I have trouble telling the difference between, and it can be fun to try to figure out, as shades are more difficult than hues. Thanks for the awesome game!

Great for stress relief!
by A bored iphone user on 2020/01/06 18:14
This game is very therapeutic and relaxing and provides a good escape from stress. It has a simplistic yet effective interface, without a lot of annoying and excessive information. The colors are simply beautiful, and there is a wide variety of shades for each level. As far as the amount of content the game has for levels, there are over 400 levels to play through. Each new stage brings a new challenge to the player. The levels themselves become more challenging as they go along, but not to the point where they are impossible. The player can spend as much time as they’d like on a level without the stress of working within any kind of limit. Overall, I highly recommend this app to anyone who needs a game to help relieve stress and calm their nerves.
love it

Stunning. Absolutely perfect.
by Sunnycalih on 2019/06/28 06:18
This game is marvelous. I was looking for a game to doze to sleep by that engaged me, was beautiful, but didn’t stress me out. This is everything I was looking for and more. The visuals are exquisite. The little encouraging messages are so nice as you doze in bed. Seeing your ranking vs the world average is a nice nod to your achievement, without making it an ongoing intense competition. The musical tones are used perfectly, only as a reward after finishing hand as you start a round. Otherwise you just get to play in silence. Calm, mesmerizing, silence. And the tones that do play are so unobtrusive I actually leave the sound on as I play (something I rarely do with phone games). Also, the gameplay is surprisingly rewarding. It’s so cool to see the whole grid finally click together. It definitely gives the brain a fantastic little dump of positive brain-chemicals and works a beauty-appreciating part of your mind in a way rarely tapped in to so intentionally. My one complaint about this game is that they don’t have a buy-once-and-play-all-the-content-without-ads option. Seriously, even if it’s $20. You guys have made an exquisitely calming experience. It makes the awful casino style ads all the more irritating. Lol. I want to pay you to never hear them again in your beautiful game. TAKE MY MONEY. Ok, thx for your art. This wonderful. If you’re reading this, get. this. game.
A wonderful experience in color!
by Islandberg on 2019/11/27 17:44
I haven’t spent a dime on this game. I have read reviews where people say it costs money, yet I have accumulated enough hearts and prisms to unlock everything without the need to spend cash. I have been telling everyone about this gem! As a former art student and artist, I feel this game is really a study in color. It’s a zen-like experience that both calms and excites at the same time. I love that it doesn’t gouge my wallet and I can just sit back and enjoy the game. I absolutely love seeing how the shades of color play against each other. Once a square is placed in its proper position ones brain can immediately tell. What once looked off in shade suddenly registers in the brain and the puzzle starts to take shape. I am addicted to this game and enjoy seeing how my score ranks against other players. My best score was 77 moves over a 223 move world average. I was impressed with myself, that’s for sure! I think anyone who wishes to better understand color and how shades can interact with others should play this game. You will see how amazing it is. I am into the quests now and have gone past “explorer”, they just keep getting better. It’s calming and really aids in stress relief.
A Study in Color Theory?
by Skayell on 2018/01/22 18:58
I was wary at first that it might be another Blendoku, my daughter ensured me that it was different. I had played Blendoku, but to me it was more aggravation than I cared for. I Love Hue is challenging, but the puzzles so beautiful, I find joy in recreating the gradients that make up the puzzles. I think this app teaches more about tints, shades, value and hue than most introductory courses you will find in a book, a beginning art class in a community college, and far more than in a workshop for beginners at your local art store. The difference between books or instruction and this app is the material is all there; there are just no descriptions that leave you wondering how you can change the hue and the amount of shading at the same time. Play this app for the fun and the beauty, but realize you are training your eyes to recognize the subtle changes in the colors. After a while you can pick up that book on color theory that was a mystery before and it just might make sense then. (I do realize the preceding was probably confusing and, possibly pointless, but pretend you understood what I was trying to communicate.)
A perfect puzzle game
by AlyssOfSpades on 2018/04/29 14:40
I blow through games on my phone like no one's business. Usually, I'll keep one for a few days before I get bored of it. Most games on the app store follow the same game design with the same monetization strategy. Not Hue. I love hue is a beautiful game that is designed to be fun and challenging, rather than pull every dime out of your wallet. There are SO many puzzles. I was very pleased with the game when I thought it had only one page of puzzles, but it has three pages, each with several sets that contain at least ten each, usually twenty five though. All of this is free. It's amazing. There's nothing in this that pushes you to buy the in app purchases, which is a major plus for me. You use prisms to play, but you are given more than enough daily to pay a few rounds, and if you need more without wanting to pay, there's an option to watch ads for a very good amount of prisms in return. It's a refreshing change. The puzzles themselves are beautiful. I love the gradients used for them. There's no time limit to complete them, and while there is a statistic showing you how many moved it took you to complete a puzzle as compared to the world average, you can turn that off if you desire. This game really is worth your time. Honestly, if you do get it, I'd consider throwing a few dollars towards the developers (I have, and doing so also turns off ads in the game). They really worked hard on this and deserve the support.

I love this app. I’ve had it downloaded for less than a half hour, and I love it! I can’t get past level 10 though.. =(. I’m rarely happy and I’m always looking for something to make me happy, and this app is good, except for the fact that I’ll always stress out if I cant finish something. There is so many levels, it would take someone ages to complete this game. I don’t normally like level games, because once I complete the ten levels the game has to offer, I’m just like: Now what? But I know if I ever finish this game, (which I probably won’t), I would just replay the levels. That’s how fun it is. So download the app. It’s free. And if you don’t like it, you can just delete it. But try it. And that other review about the prisms and money, don’t worry about it, you get 60, and then 12 if you watch a video. I mean, maybe worry about it, possibly, but, for the first 10 you don’t have to. EDIT: I passed level 10. I also beat the world average on the 1st puzzle of the 2nd stage, which was 71, and I got 19. Yay!!! EDIT II: The world average doesn’t feel pressuring to me. I got one where it was 20 more than the average, and it still said wondrous. EDIT III: You can turn in-game scores off too, if you do get pressured by that kind of thing. So don’t worry. Still download it. Please? EDIT IV: I think it would be really cool if you could enable a feature that made it so the correct ones would pin themselves down or you could buy hints with prisms.
Wonderful app.
by dannystoll84 on 2018/01/16 14:54
When I saw this in the App Store I couldn’t imagine how it would be either challenging or rewarding. Boy was I wrong. Right now I’m working through the third set of the second stage (“The Dream”), and they really do get tough — I can only imagine what the final stage looks like. And it is incredibly rewarding when you get something in the perfect place and know it. Normally I find it distasteful when apps offer in app purchases, as it often heads towards a “pay to win” mechanic. But this app’s scheme doesn’t bother me at all — it just limits you to 4 puzzles a day, and you can pay or watch ads to do more. Frankly, the system just keeps you from having unhealthy habits and sinking too much time into the game. Altogether an amazing game for all ages (seriously, I’m a dude in college and still find this incredibly enjoyable). Try it out, you may find it greatly exceeds your expectations.
The best game i've ever downloaded
by akemimori on 2018/03/19 03:54
I'm rarely satisfied with games, i usually download a few and delete them a couple months later. This game however, I don't think I'll ever delete. I've already beaten all the levels and i even went back to beat the world average on the levels i didn't the first time. This game really helped me get through stressful times and I'm so so so in love with it. To all the people who say it takes too long to get prisms, here's my suggestion: when watching TV or doing something else you don't necessarily need your phone for, watch a bunch of ads. I did this and got my prism count to around...700. Then you can basically play every puzzle there is, without having to wait around. This really is my favorite game I've ever downloaded on my phone since, although it's the same idea - make a gradient - every puzzle is a new challenge.
Pleasing to the eye & very relaxing
by Lindisty on 2018/01/23 19:53
This game is very nice. The colors are well chosen to be pleasant and blend with interesting tones. When you put the tiles into the correct slots and you can see the blending of colors and shades line up it is strangely pleasing. I find myself smiling often while playing this game. The messages between games are almost ridiculously positive: “You multicolored rainbow! You beat the world average!” And then others such as “Superb!” I suppose it’s nice that the messages are positive, but I hardly notice them. Any purchase removes the between puzzle ads, so you can remove ads for 1.99. I like this, as you can try the game free. The ads are a bit too often, and I enjoyed the game so I bought prisms to remove the ads. The game gives free prisms daily and you can watch ads to get extra. I’ve played a few ads while doing other things to stock up some prisms- it seems you can play at least five per day, possibly more. All in all, the amount of prisms per ad watched and the amount per round seem fair. (Obviously, I’d prefer no prisms, but I understand that isn’t how games often work). Overall: I recommend the game (unless you’re colorblind- sorry, Tim). I find it extremely pleasing and relaxing. Free to try and 1.99 to remove occasional ads is very reasonable. 5/5
Addictive game. Minor flaws
by GET OFF MY LAWN on 2019/04/12 19:29
Very rewarding to slowly move colors around to see a rainbow pattern emerge from a random field of jumbled color tiles. I sometimes have a problem seeing the tile under my fingers frequently on the levels with small pieces. Maybe dev could have an selected option to offset the tile to 1 inch away on iPhones with 3D Touch, and rotate 90 degrees each time you press hard. Also, I think you can’t exit a game to play another one unless you’ve completed the current one. This seems like it would be a frustrating issue at higher levels where the difference in hues are very slight. I imagine people with marginal screens would get stuck and they couldn’t change games. The main reason I’m giving it a 3 star rating is that after I paid $10 to purchase the game, I read the fine print which said that the money was for tokens to play the game, more or less. If I knew this was the deal, I would not have bought it. Very sneaky.
Totally hooked on this game!- ad update removed a star
by Justuss on 2018/03/07 05:22
Still love this game! Any chance more levels soon? So I still love this game and I am glad I got rid of the constant ads but occasionally I will hit the watch ad button to get more pyramids. (Which is a nice feature totally willing to occasionally watch an ad for extra pyramids) HOWEVER some of the ads have very loud sound that starts automatically even if you have sound turned off on the app. Please fix this!!! Sound off should mean sound off. My daughter just showed me this one last night and it is great! Only thing less great is the insane number of ads that start after the first set. I did buy the smallest amount of pyramids just to get rid of the video ads that played after every single level. But really love the game otherwise so far!
A day in, and I’m hooked
by zEmøjï on 2017/12/29 04:35
This is an amazing color shaded/toned memory matching game! I am only a day into it, but I am determined to complete every level. Each level is a complete work of art. I am blown away at the transition of each color tile from blue, to green, yellow, red, and purple. I also enjoy the different varieties of difficulties and styles of the color shades throughout each level. If you can’t tell, I am a color freak and love using them in my everyday life. This is finally a game where I can relive my stress through this moving game of art. I am impressed of the thought and time this must have taken to make this masterpiece, and I can’t seem to find a way to make this any better! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is an artist, a color freak (me), or is just a person who likes memory matching games!
Simple, beautiful, and addicting
by Cvstles on 2018/11/08 21:11
I have been looking for a simple, non competitive game to play on my morning and afternoon commutes to and from work and I have finally found it. I love this game. Back when I was in college studying color theory was one of my favorites, so seeing this game in the App Store was a delight. Playing it was even better — not even a day in I purchased a pack of gems to support the developer and remove the advertisements. It’s THAT good. I love it. You can do the puzzles at your own pace not having to worry about timers, and enjoy the music. I especially love that the game picks up where you left off if you start a puzzle and close the app for later. Seeing the pieces of the puzzles fit together always brings me joy. Something about finally making sense of the color chaos. Well done.
Color theory that’s fun!
by Vermont Lippy Lady on 2018/11/05 11:20
I took color theory as part of a BA degree in art, and a few refresher classes following that. I’m currently in a class that focuses on hue, value, and saturation. It is sometimes difficult to see the subtle differences that create those classifications. This game helps train the eye to see that. Especially if you use it in that way be staying aware of what is happening in the gradients. That being said, you can also just work the puzzles for enjoyment. The music and beautiful colors are easy on the ears and eyes, and therefore very relaxing. Plus, I enjoy being called a “shining rainbow”, and “beautiful unicorn” (or close to that), when I beat the world average for number of moves made. So, play this for education, relaxation, fun, and/or a challenge, it provides them all!!
Fun and different
by Raeofsunshineinaz on 2018/09/24 18:28
This game is more fun and challenging than I expected. There’s no music in the background for me like other reviews mentioned enjoying. I don’t know why I don’t have the music (yes, I have the sound on and volume up). I don’t like that there is no option to quit a layout if you get stuck; you have to solve it to get out. They definitely get harder as you progress. I can’t say I find it “relaxing” because the puzzles are challenging, but it’s great that there’s no timer, no hints, no maximum number of moves, so there’s no pressure like some games have. You can take your time. I paid the $1.99 to get rid of the ads between puzzles - its certainly worth two dollars! I’ve already spent several hours playing and I’m almost through the third level. It is kind of addictive, and nice to try a new kind of puzzle game.
Very Calming
by Sireerthi on 2019/01/20 17:47
This is a very nice game, it can be calming when you play it by yourself and also very fun if you have a friend with the same game. You can race to see who finishes the level first and whoever wins can help the loser finish so both can go on the the next level. Other than that it’s very enjoyable and it’s a good change for something to concentrate on rather than words or numbers. If people struggle with finding colors that look good together they can also just screenshot a level and choose those colors of you’re into art. It is very helpful and I would love to see more apps come from this developer. Very successful game..it needs to cost money or something..instead of in app purchases, because it is totally worth more than free.
Game’s good, but also a bit greedy
by DietDrDoom on 2019/02/18 15:55
As far as the game itself is concerned, I enjoyed it. You get exactly what was advertised. It doesn’t require much brainpower, and is a nice, quiet way to chill. However, this game is kind of greedy. Save for the first ten levels, you have to spend a currency to unlock a level. There’re a variety of ways to earn that currency “free” (one of them is to watch an ad). You can also spend real money to get more, and also remove ads (though when I did it, my game immediately crashed, and I got nothing for my money, which seemed awfully convenient for a game without any apparent bugs). I could deal with all of this if it wasn’t for this: you have to pay your currency to REPLAY a level. It doesn’t ask for much, but it’s still a baffling detail to me. It’s so minor and easy to bypass, but the fact that it’s there just makes me wonder, “Why?”.
Great game but prisms are awful
by Cpozza31 on 2018/04/24 15:07
The game is great and I am having a ton of fun playing. My issue is that you have to “pay” 3 prisms to play a level. You get 15 prisms for free each day and you can watch an add for an additional 12. It’s very easy to get lost in the game and want to play multiple levels but sometimes I don’t have enough prisms and I have to wait 24 hours. I am used to games making you wait 30 minutes or so for a life in order to keep playing but this prism system is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is that you have to open the app in order to get your additional prisms. You don’t auto collect them. I’ve been wanting to play but I haven’t been since I want to collect prisms. This is a ridiculous attempt to get people to pay to play. If they reduced the time to something manageable then I’d give this 5 stars. But as of right now the prism system keeps this game from being above mediocre.
The True Cost
by InfiniteGray on 2017/12/28 19:30
Now, in case you haven’t heard in other reviews, this is a great little game. It’s very minimalist and has a great ascetic (I just wish the puzzles would fill up the entire screen). However after the first ten levels in begins to require three “Prisms” to play each level. Every 24 hours you can watch an ad(s) to get 12 prisms. They also have an option to purchase prisms which eliminates ads as well. If you’d like to unlock the whole game and all it’s 280 levels immediately that’s around $14-$16. I gave this game four stars because there are plenty of other similar games that have a low flat out base price to unlock the entire game. At the most, I’d say this game is worth $6. If you are okay with waiting to unlock prisms or have enough money to spend, I highly recommend this game.
Peaceful and engaging— no stress
by brokenchemicalbonds on 2018/01/16 12:50
I’m not one for games (the competitive aspect usually stresses me out) or puzzles (again, stress that I’m not smart enough to figure it out), but this app is a lovely exception to the rule. I’m so glad I found it. The simple, beautiful color palettes provide a minimalistic and engaging experience that doesn’t get old. There are tons of levels and many different versions of puzzles at each level— in-app purchases are available, but there’s no pressure to get them, ever. It’s just a choice that’s there in the background and doesn’t hang over your head during playtime. The music is serene, the encouragement genuine and warm, and the mood relaxing. If you’re generally anxious or just looking for a game with zero stress involved, this is for you.
I'm selfish
by Buhrst on 2017/06/25 03:33
So I recently decided that at times I can be selfish. I will download free versions of some amazing games and when asked to leave a rating, well quite frankly I skip it every time! I feel awful. Developers, music artists, artists, free thinkers, hard workers, and amazing individuals depend on me.....yes, little 'ole me, to help them share amazing things. And not only that they ask me to share, let me have it for free, and encourage feedback, but they appreciate honest answers. This game is good. If you suffer from anxiety or even that your soul just doesn't feel well, this game has brought me a competitive peace. Not sure that I could be more honest. Download this game....if you don't like it, delete it. But if you do enjoy it, I promise you won't be sorry.
New game, & love it so far
by JWood730 on 2017/09/10 03:18
I'm new to this game, I've only played about 15 levels, and I'm already in love! Puzzle games like 'I Love Hue' are surprisingly rare; non competitive, clever, soothing & artistic. There's no timer to keep you anxious, which is a huge relief to me. The graphics are clean, vivid & contemporary; there's no obnoxious flashing lights or distracting animation. The concept is deceptively simple, like sudoku but with shades of color, & it's not overly clever to leave you feeling dumbfounded & frustrated. The game brings out your artistic & creative sides. I've encountered a few ads, but very few, & only lasting 10 seconds or less. Please, try this app! It's beautiful, fun, invigorating & inspiring! Thank you to all the creators who put their time & hearts into this app :)
Fun and Fair In-Game Currency
by tabbykat123321 on 2018/11/07 19:06
First of all, organizing things has always relaxed me. So a game organizing colored tiles to match a gradient scale? Count me in! In order to play a level, you must spend the in-game currency, “prisms”. From what I have seen so far, a level only uses 3 prisms. That’s pretty decent, since they start you off with about 100. What’s even better is you can watch an ad to earn more prisms. I’m not saying the ad is better, what I’m saying is you earn 15 prisms per ad. That’s 5 whole levels of play for a 30-second ad! I’ve never seen such high rewards in other games, and I love that. Definitely worth watching a 30 second ad. The puzzles are beautiful, the rewards are fair, and I hope it stays that way!
Just lovely.
by Zpmlk5 on 2018/03/15 17:50
I Love Hue is a delightful take on a puzzle game. The soothing music, lack of timer or “lives,” and no maximum number of moves make this game a wonderful tool to use to distract oneself from anxiety and/or panic attacks. All messages you receive upon completing levels are supportive, positive, and uplifting. The only drawbacks are that it isn’t accessible for those who are colorblind; that there are after the first ten levels, though these are easily removed with any in-app purchase; and that prisms are difficult to acquire in-game (you get twelve automatically each day, though they are purchasable; the prices for purchasing prisms are much cheaper than I’ve seen in other games for similar things like gems).
Perfect color serenity
by Daisy K2tog on 2018/10/21 01:21
This game is right up my alley. According to my optometrist I have an unusually highly developed sense of color, tone, and shade. This game is a natural for me. It’s so relaxing. The whole zen feeling of this game is like an oasis. It’s so satisfying when I get a puzzle right. I absolutely love the big heart you get when you finish a puzzle. Makes me happy. Technically, the interface is smooth and easy, the animation pleasing to the eye. The only issue I have is when I move a tile from the bottom row of a full screen puzzle I sometimes wind up closing, or minimizing, the game. But that is really an iOS 12 problem. You just need to be careful to only touch the top of the bottom row tiles. Otherwise, MAGNIFICENT GAME!
A free game not out for your money??
by ✨Titi✨ on 2019/03/03 21:13
I know it’s hard to believe considering most free games are just pay to win, but I Love Hue truly is what it says it is. It’s a pantone game that’s relaxing and challenging at the same time. You don’t need to spend a cent to experience the whole game(I certainly haven’t), and it doesn’t bombard you with ads. When it does give you ads(which it doesn’t often), they last for 5 seconds and then you can skip them and continue on your merry way. The challenges progress extremely well and let’s just say I am very satisfied with how well made this game is. If you want a free game that’s fun and challenging and also isn’t a pay to win, this is it.
My favorite
by cat condo on 2018/12/22 01:41
I deal with anxiety and it can be really exhausting, sometimes it’s hard for me to come back down to earth and calm down. This game has been such a wonderful outlet for me. I love the colors and it’s honestly therapeutic. There isn’t a huge emphasis on the points so you aren’t stressed about always being perfect, because at the end of every puzzle is such a sweet message, it’s just a positive game to play. It always puts me in a positive mindset. The colors are beautiful, the puzzles are challenging but achievable, and it just makes me happy. It’s been a great way for me to cope with my anxiety, and I hope you guys read this and realize you helped me a lot. Thank you :)
Great game, obnoxious pay model
by s wrote a review on 2019/01/08 17:45
Since everyone else has described the game so well, I'm just going to describe the pay model. There are 30 second video ads after every game. Paying any amount turns the ads off. However, the amount you can play the game is artificially limited. You can either watch even more ads or pay to replenish your stock of pyramids (essentially an in-game currency). You get a small amount of free pyramids daily. Every level costs 3 pyramids to play the first time, 1 more every subsequent time. I would be happy to pay 2-3 dollars for this game once to remove ads, but not when you still have to pay (via either real money or time spent watching ads) just to open every level.

Hello. I am a music therapist and a STRONG advocate for taking time for ones own self to center, zone out, putz around, what-have-you, just to improve your own quality of life! Well. I don't always follow my own advice, but then I downloaded this game. I like my games compelling and fun so you don't want to put it down, and this one qualifies. The music is relaxing and nostalgic (The NeverEnding Story soundtrack influence?). The colors and ambience are so attractive, you don't mind or feel bad about zoning out and spending some time alone engaging in a beautiful, colorful, and challenging puzzle. WEll done I <3 Hues. I don't even write reviews all like this... :)
Beautiful, lovely, color theory
by Em Pogo on 2018/03/19 08:13
Having spent countless hours as a first year art student mixing and remixing dabs of paint for swatches in tints and tones and shades, this app feels all too familiar... and yet I’m not filled with dread as I was in class! It’s color theory minus the grades and pressure and messy paintbrushes. It’s challenging enough to keep my attention, and satisfying enough to make me want more. 15 years ago I took color theory... now I’m going to email this to my prof and see if she likes it too. :-) Anyone who loves color and mild puzzles will enjoy this, and anyone who has gone through the pain of art school will excel at it. Finally, a practical use for all those hours of study!
I love ❤️ hue!!! 🎨 (please read!)
by dhdbdbmsnsn on 2018/12/27 17:30
This the best game/app ever made!!! My art teachers would try to make us all understand hues and tints and shades etc. most people including myself did not understand the concept I found this app and found it amazing 🤩 I have honestly learned more in the past couple days than my teacher could teach this is the best Anyway (sorry 😐 about the rambling) about the game! It is absolutely amazing and I love ❤️ it sooo... much I have got other “art” apps and they are horrible compared to this the idea 💡 of what your doing sounds easy then you get a few levels in and it definitely gets very challenging but still not to hard to the point you are just annoyed 😑 and frustrated with it so it makes it still super fun! By the way I left this review because the game asked me to I usually just say don’t ask again but the app was so good 😊 I just felt like I should to help the game and you guys out. Please continue to make amazing 🤩 levels and great updates I love ❤️ love ❤️ this game!!!! ❤️ the game Reviewer
Fabulous

I have been playing for less than one day and I can not stop. I love memory games and attention to detail. If you are like myself, this game is perfect for you. I am also on break from nursing school for the winter and needed a brain stimulant as my mind is not used to not critically thinking about everything. This game allows you to develop a strategy and become acutely aware of the slightest variation in color tone. You are also given the average move score in the top left of the puzzle before you play. This allows for the player to carefully select moves. I am constantly motivated to be the world average. This game is a MUST HAVE❤️❤️
An Amazing Introduction into the Study of Art
by APrettyRandomAccount on 2020/01/14 22:39
This game is beautiful, addicting, and inspiring due to the calming music, purposely vibrant colors, and small messages at the end of each level that fill you with determination!
Relaxing, fun, and stress eazing
by Rachel_rauh on 2019/10/18 23:20
I play this game all the time, it’s no more complex than rearranging colors into order, but it’s captivating. It’s not an addicting game, i can put it down whenever i want which is great. Aside from being entertaining, i’ve also found it to be therapeutic. In situations where I am anxious, or nervous, or impatient for something, i pull this game out and start playing and it instantly calms me down. it gives me something to focus on and enjoy. Another plus is that I can see my perception of colors improving as progress through the levels. Makes me proud of myself lol. also really fun to play when you’re high.
Gentle
by Magebird on 2018/02/10 02:09
I’ve had some major health issues lately and a puzzle as tranquil and lovely as this is a great way to distract myself from some of the symptoms. I’m very happy I found it. I never feel pressured, just challenged, and I feel so satisfied and happy when I make a beautiful pattern of colors. The progress is as beautiful and enjoyable as the completion. I also really appreciate that you can turn off the score display so you don’t have to worry about comparing yourself to others if you don’t want to. I wish I could just pay a flat fee and get unlimited play, though. It’s nice that a purchase does turn off ads though.
Blended critique
by Makai Greene on 2019/02/16 19:04
This is visually the most beautiful game I have ever played. It is simple and difficult. It is challenging and at first seeing no measure for how or if I was competing, I felt unsure if I was missing something. When I did finally notice the measurement system I found myself distracted by it and as a weird result I actually feel more stress to solve it quickly than a conventional game where the competitive nature of the game is overt. To the makers: I would love to have a toggle that would allow me to turn off the how I compare to others feature, maybe even having a longitudinal measure of my own play over time.
Maybe helped with my color blindness!
by Robby Writing on Apps on 2019/05/18 22:05
I believe this game improved my red green color blindness. I still have it but I periodically check Ishihara plates out of curiosity. This game seems to improve my ability to tell which when colors next to each other aren’t the same, even if I can’t tell exactly where any individual color lies on the red-green continuum. Doubt this has any practical implication for me, but it’s interesting nonetheless. I docked a star because I emailed support to ask how long one in game purchase disables ads, and never received a response. I’d pay once to disable ads for good, but I’ll find another relaxing game before paying a subscription for this.
I’m as addicted to this as I am to coffee
by Oholybeemoive on 2018/11/07 14:22
I just finished every single level in the game. I have been playing this for maybe 6 months and I never got tired of it. I would play this during school between assignments, just to have something to do. But that turned into ignoring assignments in favor of playing. I loved seeing the color schemes and getting to the harder hexagonal levels, and I’m extremely disappointed to have finished every one. I want more! The game also helped with my anxiety, it was a relaxing way to district myself from things Going On. Please make more levels!! I need my therapy back!!!
Love it!
by GeneralRhapsodos on 2020/01/15 04:24
This game is so good and so relaxing.
Positively addicting!
by Catgrin on 2019/05/16 09:40
This wonderfully designed game is just so relaxing to play! It’s set up to encourage focus rather than speed, and the reward you’ll get for doing well is immediate positive feedback. For anyone just starting out, I recommend taking some time to really examine each level’s layout before you click to start. Unlike some other logic puzzles, you’re not shown how pieces shift around the screen as each puzzle divides. That means you’re left to rely purely on color sense and logic (rather than having any memory cues) to recreate the grids. To the designers, thanks for a wonderful diversion!
Wallowing in colors
by patricknh on 2018/09/06 12:44
If you have acute color vision, and are used to seeing the world in the full range of Pantone shades, this game is a series of cheerful, soothing puzzles where you set them all in order. It’s just the thing to fiddle with while you’re on the phone to the printer. And as other reviewers have observed, if you’ve never really thought about color, playing I Love Hue may teach you more about color theory than most art classes. (Note: this will at no point feel educational. It’s just fun.) What does it matter how many moves it takes you to finish a puzzle, as long as you’re enjoying it?
A wonderful supplement to color study
by Indoquilter on 2018/02/20 21:09
This app is fabulous! It works perfectly. When I first downloaded last week, there were not enough ratings for the App store to give a rating. But the reviews I read were all positive. My husband and I have shared this app with our students and also to all our artist friends on Facebook. The result, the number of downloads of this app is growing, growing. A good learning tool for beginners and an excellent refresher for color experts. Lots of fun too. Great for airplane amusement, particularly international flights - be sure to download enough prisms before losing internet connection.
Relaxing But Engaging
by netunaaa on 2018/12/01 19:33
I’ve struggled with anxiety a lot this year and have been looking for ways to calm down and reset my brain. A lot of other puzzle games are timed, which can be stressful, or are have audio or visuals that are very jarring and bling-y. I Love Hue has gorgeous design and visuals, soothing (optional) music, and the games are short enough to be satisfying but challenging enough to be engaging. I like how positive the messages are, and how the only competition is the “world record”, which at least for me is easy to beat. I can play a game or two on the bus or before bed and feel calmer and ready to go on with my life.
Love This Game So Much!!
by QuietYeller69 on 2019/06/02 20:46
I love this game so much! It's so fun to play in my free time, whenever I'm bored. The color arrays are really pretty and I feel proud when I complete are difficult puzzle. The thing I love about this game the most is that I can play it anywhere at any time. It's very helpful. It takes precision and helps you see things more clearly. If I had to give one complaint about this game, I would say that I shouldn't need to wait for free gems everyday or have to buy gems, and 3 of those at a time, to do one puzzle. I would prefer if all the puzzles were free so I could play this game all day!
Relax with a ?Game?
by saes04 on 2018/05/30 13:23
While technically a puzzle game, it is soothing and relaxing to play. Uses observation and problem-solving skills that most people don’t get to use in the every day -- all without you even realizing it actually is problem-solving. I do enjoy easy and challenging puzzles of all kinds. But this, takes the mind off of ‘xyz’ while not engaging the same level of mental “work” other games I like to play for a distraction...Just enough mental “effort” needed to be engrossing without feeling like problem solving. Everything else aside, this game is so pleasurable to look at, it could be a screen saver.
NOTE TO CREATER OF I LOVE HUE
by Valstar705 on 2019/12/01 22:31
I love the game I love hue. Matching all the blocks into a mixture of beautiful colors fading into one another is very satisfying. I do have a recommendation for the game. There are some incredibly hard levels that I just can’t crack and I’m sure there are some that other users can’t get done either. I was wondering if you could have a hint button where you would pay some amount of prisms to get a hint. The hint being something like the block that that isn’t right lights up and you would have to figure out from there. If you’ve read this then please consider it. THANKS
Sweet and satisfying!
by Kate Carmie on 2017/07/18 05:45
This app is so fun to play! Whenever I'm bored, it's great to just do this fun little game. It doesn't take over my time, but it keeps me entertained when I'm bored. I'm the kind of person who likes to organize things by shade, so this is the perfect game for me! Also, the comments after each puzzle is finished are absolutely adorable. I mean, who doesn't want to be a shimmering unicorn? There are ads, but they usually don't bother me because I play without the wifi on and it can be taken away easily. Overall, this game is great to pass the time and it's one of my favorites!✨🦄

I only hope that at the end there are is more time to take a screenshot of the completion- as of now it's a mere second - definitely not enough, renders the canera useless

calming and beautiful
by Amethyst_Girl_😎 on 2020/02/16 16:15
I love this game.

Soothing and intuitive
by Nik625 on 2020/02/11 04:23
It’s a nice, relaxing, intuitive experience. It reminds me of playing sodoku... but in a way that feels intuitive vs math driven.

by Jff777 on 2020/02/11 02:27
This game is really helpful to calm me down when I am feeling anxious.

There’s something about this game that is truly amazing. It’s therapeutic and easy to get lost in.

Once those colors are jumbled up and I start picking apart the mess, it can instantly pull me out of my anxiety and give me something to focus on and breathe. This app is amazing for anyone who likes to look at colors.

Great Puzzle Game

Beautiful

BEST GAME EVER!!!

This is the first mobile game i’ve ever properly “beat,” or finish all the levels of. It’s visually beautiful, and simple.
Perfect Use of Web Colors! Worth it!

Do yourself a favor and throw these folks a bone or two. Web safe gradients meet the perfect puzzle game.
Love it!
by GeneralRhapsodos on 2020/01/15 04:24
This game is so good and so relaxing.

Stunning. Absolutely perfect.

Well done.

My favorite

This Game is My Version of Self-Care

Gentle
