BEST APP HANDS DOWN!
by shells49 on 2020/09/24 06:24
This app has helped me reduce my screen time by like 5 HOURS!! I’ve become so much more productive and aware of the things around me:)
Pretty good, some suggestions!
by boo bugling on 2020/09/09 14:39
This app is pretty good! I use the free version, and I use it almost as a timer for helping me stay on track. I love the graphic design and it is helpful in getting rid of phone distraction. For suggestions, I wish when you were setting a custom goal for the day like “20 minutes study” you could not only set a time goal (20 minutes) but also a productivity goal such as “complete essay for science class” I hope that makes sence, and thanks for creating a great app.
🥺
by _camilla_halle_ on 2020/09/03 22:47
I genuinely LOVE this app! i’m a high school student and i’ve been using the study/unplug live constantly, there’s something so refreshing about looking at your phone when you get distracted and seeing that thousands of other people are studying along with you, it motivates me to keep working. went from slacking off to 2+ hours of studying a day. ILYYY🥺💕
What happened?
by A_Mushroom on 2020/09/02 22:19
Almost nothing in this app works anyone. I can’t view my groups, my history, search for groups to join, nada. It’s all gone.
Great app but
by katydoci on 2020/08/30 17:40
I love this app so much but you recently updated and took away 1 hr study for free users and that was VERY disappointing. I use this app often enough that that feature was amazing but not often enough for me (a student with loans) to spend on membership. Please bring it back :(
Love love love this app!
by heartsx3 on 2020/08/24 03:09
I love this app! This app is perfect for those with ADHD or who have a big procrastination problem. Especially if you are the type of person that is just addicted to your phone. This app is for you! It is very strict so you can’t choose what apps to block which I somewhat like. If you want to be more productive you wouldn’t regret getting this app. This app will force you to be productive I know it did for me 🙋🏾‍♀️. It is so worth it download it!
I love it!
by moonart145 on 2020/08/20 13:06
I absolutely love this app! It has helped me to be more productive. That’s all I have to say
Glitches
by Kholoud94 on 2020/08/12 10:56
Am I the only one for who the app has glitches sometimes? I would do a full on 1 hour session and I would get a notification saying that it’s ready for review or whatever but when i unlock my phone and I go back into the app, the timer would keep going at whatever minute it was when I locked my phone! Very annoying for someone who wants to track how much time they studied daily
The screen needs to be on
by skinny_much on 2020/08/10 16:43
I paid for premium for longer times. There does not seem to be a way to use it without keeping the display on. Other apps don’t require this. It is a crazy use of battery and leads to unintentional taps if in your pocket or elsewhere.
Disappointed
by Hassaanabid on 2020/08/04 05:57
This app used to have a full lock mode built in so I bought the premium mode but turns out they split the full-lock mode into another program and now I have to buy that too.
so now or requires payment?
by Jennifer Lowells on 2020/07/07 21:38
I got the app and loved it and recently it added a payment option and offered me a 7 day free trial! what happened??
Literally Incredible!! One thing tho
by i love puppr! on 2020/06/22 17:35
Honestly I love this over every. Other. Focus. Timer. Because of just how adorable the format is. It is so cute and that is one of the big things that makes me want to use it. However I don’t have the room in my budget for the premium, but I still use the normal features that you don’t have to pay for. I just think it’s annoying that the premium ad keeps popping up right in your face 24-7!!!!!!!!! Please, please just have the ads pop up every now and then and not flashy and annoying, it’s very distracting!!
Too many locked features
by actualkat96 on 2020/06/18 17:31
The fact that you can’t even customize the length of default timers is annoying. Trying to force users to drop $$$ on essential features that almost every timer/tracker app has is insane; especially since there is no monthly subscription option. I’ll stick with the apps I have.
Idea is good, execution is not great.
by bishoy hm on 2020/06/17 16:19
When you pay for an app, you expect it to work well. I bought this app to help limit the distractions and to help with focus. The app does this by “hiding” all non essential apps on the phone for a specific time that you can choose. The idea is great. But there are a couple of issues. First, you cannot control which apps are the ones you would like to hide. Not all apps are distractions. It would be great to be able to control which apps are hidden. Second, there are issues with the app working for the specified period of time. For example, I set the timer for an hour. An hour goes by and the apps are still hidden. This is an issue that needs to be addressed.
Too much fuss
by crumb collector on 2020/06/17 00:07
Considering the people that most need this app will not be terribly motivated up front, it's pretty rotten off the back of excitement over potential to open the app only to find you have to create an account, give your name, and go through some setup process. Just give me the app. Not 'paperwork' I have to complete in order to begin.
It does not make any sound when time is over
by L@im@r on 2020/06/03 11:46
It is a good app to study. What I don't like is that it doesn't make any sound when time is up. On many occasions it has happened to me that I continue studying without knowing that time is up, which does not allow me to have an exact record of the time I was studying. It is not productive to be studying and have to be pending of the time to know how much is left to finish. They should definitely improve on that. So I give it 3 stars, if they change that it would be an excellent app.
The worst app ever
by cavtegagdgehehx on 2020/05/17 15:02
It won’t let me delete it I AM SO ANGRY I WOULD rate this 0
new version
by reyhaneh amini on 2020/05/02 06:11
Thanks for this update and this version 🙏🏻😍It’s so good.
Like it before
by TSlice1111 on 2020/04/28 18:47
I previously liked this app when it was simple and you could pay extra for the lock feature to. I guess now Apple now requires them to make it a separate app which is a little more annoying. Plus there are to many lock features imo. I liked it a lot more when it was a simple app with one main job. Get off your phone and be productive
Subscribed
by idaelogs on 2020/04/18 20:24
I just wanted to test the app, but forgot to unsubscribe. I contacted them for a refund since I didn’t use the app, but they didn’t refund me. The lock-app would be nifty if it didn’t require giving full access to your iPhone. What?! No way!
Good app 👍🏼
by Pewpew333 on 2020/04/13 18:43
I think that 3 dollars a month is very reasonable for this app. I love the features that are free as well and there is obviously a reason for the changes. I do think it would be a bit better if there were more than one session available for free (other than the 40 minute one). That said, I have been using this app for a while and it is very useful!
Everything is locked now
by everythinglockednow on 2020/04/06 20:41
When I first downloaded this app, I was able to access a decent number of the features, but now you have to pay for any sessions that last 1 hour or longer. It’s ridiculous, it’s not even usable anymore unless you pay for enverything. I suppose I could restart the session every 40 minutes, which is the maximum time for unpaid sessions, but that’s disruptive and defeats the entire purpose of the app.
Too Many Locked Features
by lambayear on 2020/03/31 04:42
When I first started using Flipd, I found it incredibly useful. However, I watched over time as they slowly hid more of their features under the premium subscription. At first, I was able to tolerate the changes. For example, the change from unlimited breaks with every Flipd session to only one break allowed without a premium subscription wasn’t too bad for me. I decided that it would be best to take less breaks anyway. However, today it was the last straw. I discovered that all sessions longer than 40 minutes have been locked under the premium subscription. While I used to be able to go a few hours to a whole day at a time, now I can’t even spend an hour in a Flipd session. The only way for me to extend the session would be to constantly start a new one every 40 minutes. This is very inefficient, especially since I use Flipd to help me stay focused on homework for long periods of time. I am finding it increasingly less useful than it was before without upgrading to premium. I am in high school and currently unable to get a premium subscription. All I ask is for the sessions longer than 40 minutes to be made available for everyone again, or at least the 1 hour and 4 hour sessions. Flipd has been so helpful for me in the past, and I’d hate to lose so much from such a great tool. If you can make these longer sessions available without premium, it would be immensely appreciated. Thanks so much!
Bad all around
by Megan Fr on 2020/03/26 14:09
The sound takes forever to load so what’s the point of calm music if you can’t even listen to it . Next you can’t use calculator app while your in the app doing your concentration time so if your trying to focus on math good luck! I’m a teen and I was very underwhelmed by this app because it doesn’t work well . Also if you turn on notifications you get a lot of them . To the point where they are very annoying ! I suggest not downloading this app ever.
only good if you pay
by petshopeyes on 2020/03/25 18:19
almost every feature is locked unless you subscribe
Freedom
by 856901 on 2020/03/19 14:57
This app was alright when I first downloaded and previously provided the ability to obfuscate apps. Unfortunately, after exiting the session it rearranged all my apps making in difficult to navigate my phone. This feature was useful for limiting distractions. However, recent updates removed this feature and now only has limited sessions that require you to stay in the application. I enjoy listening to music during my workday and need access to other essential applications. If you're looking for an app that will not interrupt your iOS experience look at the Freedom app, you can essentially configure to block data traffic for social media apps/ non-essential websites. As a young-professional, I need to be able to use my phone but also want to the freedom to limit my distractions. The Freedom application provides this flexibility. I do not recommend using the Flipd app or subscribing to their premium offering, features are severely limited and don't satisfy the use-case your looking to solve.
Have to pay to use
by lilacteq on 2020/03/19 04:20
Im disappointed.
Ya definitely not awesome
by khayman11 on 2020/03/17 14:07
I was looking for an app that blocked the use of other apps to keep me from being distracted. This app is so forgettable that I forgot to cancel it and now am stuck with it for a year 🤦🏾 what a waste.
Used to Love This!
by Emily984 on 2020/03/16 03:26
I honestly used to use Flipd every day for school, work and reading and made so much progress! I recommended it to my entire family because I was feeling so inspired by all the progress I was making. Recently, Flipd changed all the other modes (like “My Day” “Study” and “Sleep”) to be limited to the paid subscription, leaving the 40 minute option. I was so disappointed that I actually reached out to recommend that they bring back the more flexible modes, and there was an update released the next day that restored the original version. Now, it’s back to the limited paid version. I am still searching for a replacement and I really am so disappointed that they changed it, it was to be the only effective way for me to unplug and get stuff done!
Got it for full lock mode, but no longer exists?
by ratereviewsubscribe on 2020/03/12 00:40
Had to google/search multiple forums to figure out what I was missing. Premium upgrade is very misleading, does not actually outline what you’re getting. Confusing experience all around.
Question
by Fanno123 on 2020/03/06 16:47
I have a question about the full lock. Is it permanently removed now? I really need to know because I am using this app just for this feature. I would like to know so I can determine to cancel my subscription or not.
What a downfall..
by hannnahhhw on 2020/03/05 02:44
Alright, so I have been using Flipd for about six months now on and off. I am horrible at time management and found this app to be really helpful. Just as I was getting into the swing of using it regularly, they took away all session options and the full lock. I found both of these to be helpful because no matter what I was doing I could set a timer to focus, and really buckle down. The only session option now is a 40 minute focus and that is not ALL I do in a days time. Someone please fix this before my brain goes haywire!
No Full Lock Feature
by sputnikaroundthemoon on 2020/03/04 19:41
Honestly wish the Cold Turkey app would come to iOS. The Flipd app used to have a full lock feature, but it has sadly been removed. You are better off making full use of your iPhone’s Screen Time mode in the settings.
Use to be great to me honestly
by Jonny743 on 2020/03/04 10:30
Can’t block all your apps with iPhone anymore really makes that app so less useful if that’s not your main concern it’s a good app
Full lock??
by sfw2829 on 2020/03/03 02:20
Any idea when full lock is coming back? Or will I get a refund for paying when that’s all I need this app for? If full lock comes back I’ll happily give and keep giving a yearly subscription. Without it, Im gonna need my 39.99 back please.
Day day
by Dayz07 on 2020/03/01 04:02
Well we are in March now and still not full lock!
pretty but everything useful costs $$$
by yvnggks on 2020/03/01 02:13
cute but no functionality/customization for free users. most apps like this offer three free categories to customize for yourself and have more cost money. this one i could only use “focus” and even when i added a tag, i couldn’t see my time on it or delete featured i didn’t use. pretty and a great idea but disappointing for those who can’t pay
This app helped me a lot in college
by Joshesc on 2020/02/28 23:28
It definitely helped me focus and get work done. One thing I would add though is that educational apps shouldn’t be locked on full lock mode. Other than that this app will help you a lot in getting to where you need to get.
Just turn your phone off.
by tektekbtich on 2020/02/28 04:35
I can turn my phone off easy peasy and just not use it at all. That’s basically all this app does. Except it lets calls and texts in. What I REALLY need is for it to block out SPECIFIC apps, such as social media, and allow me to still use my phone for the other productive apps I have and are necessary for me to get things done. I still need to be able to have Siri look things up for me, play music, research things, write things, use the productive apps I have. This is basically useless and I had my hopes way high for this one.
No lock down mode
by llamalovins on 2020/02/27 17:27
Turns out this app currently doesn’t have the only feature I downloaded it for: the social media lockdown. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Every feature is locked
by artemis_5 on 2020/02/24 02:50
I used to absolutely love this app and use it every day to keep myself on track with my work. With every new update, more and more features have become only available to premium users. The only free option is 40 minutes which is far too short to be useful. Many users of this app are students or just simply can’t afford premium. I really miss having access to more time options as this used to be such a fantastic app.
Meh

You have to pay
Alright
by @Jerrashi on 2020/02/21 20:21
The UI is pretty albeit unintuitive. I would probably get a subscription but the notifications (besides reminders) are kind of annoying and there’s no way to toggle specific notifications.
Full lock isn’t working on iOS
by ZunnyBunny on 2020/02/18 15:43
Full lock feature isn’t working for trial. The instructions mentioned this can be set up in “Settings”. However, user cannot not see a “setting” tab in view.
Per apple policies full lock and social aspects have been added in.....makes no sense...
by thessamp on 2020/02/16 14:14
They said the full lock feature is coming back in February but it’s still not available. Adding the social feature is the exact OPPOSITE of what’s needed. The great benefit of this app was the forced detox from all of the alerts, and the social media feed...why add it IN to this app? It makes no sense to me. There are way too many ways to connect with people digitally. Please bring back the full lock.
No Lock
by WantToLoveBut... on 2020/02/15 16:42
There is not really a lockdown feature. Many other timer apps out there for free. Zero value in the app without the lock feature. Cancelling.

Can’t get it to work.
by Enigmatic Stare on 2020/02/07 23:18
I downloaded the app and I was jazzed to try and use it. I’m not an idiot, but I can’t figure out how to get it to do ANYTHING. There no “flip off” feature. No full lock feature. The Troubleshooting section tells you to go to Settings, but there isn’t a “Settings” button anywhere in the app. The “how to” pertaining to Full Lock is helpful for some app, I’m sure, just NOT the app I have (because the article referenced buttons and locations that do not exist in my app.) I can click on a “Mindfulness” session and that seems to be the extent of the app’s usefulness. Every video I can find makes this app seem so easy to use...but what I’ve downloaded is...NOT the same app.
No full lock mode
by Hduran568 on 2020/02/05 02:26
I really needed full lock mode and I cant find any other app that has it. This is so unfortunate.
How do you not advertise full lock is gone?
by adamapple76 on 2020/02/04 14:57
One of your biggest features was that you offered a full lock. I jumped through numerous hoops trying to get it to work. Finally I get the icon and then a notification appears telling me the option doesn’t work with Apple currently.
no premium :(
by saktherat on 2020/02/02 17:44
before the new update, I LOVED THIS APP. it helped me cope with my phone addiction and actually get stuff done in life. but now with the new update, every feature is locked because i cant afford premium:( i’m so disappointed because this app really helped me and now i can barely use any of the features.
Where’s full lock?
by ckouba01 on 2020/01/29 21:40

Taking advantage of users
by mamt95 on 2020/01/28 15:13
There used to be many features for users who didn’t have a premium subscription, but now with the latest update, users can only track 40 minutes of mindful moments, all of the other options are locked, I won’t be using this app any longer, and I surely will not be getting a subscription now.
Pretty good, don’t like the price
by 🌸🖤💕 on 2020/01/28 12:12
I absolutely love this app especially because you can go on full lock mode and you can do it for a long periods of time. The one thing I really don’t like is the fact that you have to pay $34 per year to use this. I mean I get it, you are trying to make money but come on! I’m a sophomore high schooler and I don’t have a job. I’m addicted to my phone and I just wish this app was fully free so I could be off of my phone for a long time. Other than that, it’s pretty darn good

by lbl2000 on 2020/01/21 21:34

Bring back lock down mode
by bringbacklockdownmodeeee on 2020/01/19 23:55
Only reason I subscribed past the trial phase was because of the lock down mode which temporarily hid all of your apps. Super helpful for my productivity but recently something happened between Flipd and Apple and this feature is no longer available. Sad to have wasted my money!
Huge disappointment
by maegan75 on 2020/01/14 21:12
I’m a recent android user who got talked into switching to iPhone and a hardcore Cold Turkey user (I’m a writer who struggles with distractions) and did not realize that CT wasn’t available for iPhone. Downloaded Flipd because it claimed to offer a full lock down mode. Nope. Tried to use it and was told full lock down wasn’t available to iPhone users. What a let down. Full lock down was the only reason I purchased this app. If you need this feature like I do, don’t think you’ll be getting it here because you won’t. Huge disappointment.
This app use to be good
by Hunterw1 on 2020/01/12 20:36
Use to love this app now it scrambles the apps and messes with the organization of my phone. Pretty disappointing. Hopefully they update it soon.
Can’t get notifications back
by catgirl345 on 2020/01/07 15:57
I used this app on the full lock mode and now I never get notifications from apps besides Messenger and iMessage, no matter how many settings I change. It’s fine I guess but just be aware.
App needs to be updated.
by Naggins on 2019/12/31 20:15
I really love this app, it keeps me off my phone and helps me focus on school work. However, since the new iPhone update (iOS 13), it completely disorganizes the apps on my phone because it supposed to put everything in alphabetical order. I understand that I have to agree to it before proceeding to full lock, but it takes everything out of folders too. I don’t know if this only happens to me, but instead of it being put into alphabetical order, it’s just placed in random order. Very frustrating. I hope this gets fixed soon. In the meantime, I’m going to delete this app.
Ios 13 update this app will not block safari
by bhuijvfffg on 2019/12/24 20:08
With the new iphone update this app becomes pointless. Safari browsering is not block. I also wish this app was like digital detox on google play store which allows you to use different apps of your choice. Step up your game
Cool but needs work
by Xeefoo on 2019/12/20 15:46
Really cool concept but a few things 1. Needs a better way to turn off the effects of the app, I had to go to settings to turn it off because I was just testing it out. I could see ho some might be tempted to turn it off and on but I would thing you could have an on/switch for emergencies or something. 2. When I turned the app off all my other apps on my home were disorganized, so I’m going to have to waste time reorganizing my app which defeats the purpose. 3. Unsure if I just couldn’t find the way or if it doesn’t exist in the free version, but I couldn’t select any apps that I didn’t want deleted from my phone. In particular photo editing apps that I use for work or my email.
It needs to be able to block settings
by cjenwere on 2019/12/19 15:18
I can easily work around this on a full lock by just going to settings and removing the installed profile it’s not good
Completely didn’t respect anything
by Nalu wahine on 2019/12/18 06:34
I completely understand this app is supposed to alphabetically organize everything if it’s not in folders. But it completely took everything out of folders. This app is frustrating and now I’m freaking out because it’s so disorganized
Room for Improvement
by Annapox on 2019/12/17 21:56
This app does exactly what it says it does: It hides all downloaded apps and notifications from those apps for the amount of time the user specifies. So far, so good. However, the apps come back arranged in a different order (unless you happen to arrange your apps in quasi-alphabetical order), and there is no way to customize which apps are hidden. For example, I have downloaded an app to help me manage the medications I take, and I don't have access to it while Flipd is doing its thing. On the other hand, I would have an easier time focusing if I did not have access to the iTunes or App store, and those apps are not hidden. So, while it's a good concept, I haven't found it all that useful.
Free Stuff
by bluenark on 2019/12/17 09:37
I love this app, it really helps me focus on my work; but the thing is, I can’t pay for the premium stuff and I can’t play much sounds and I can’t customize the time. So I would suggest that this app has a little more stuff free but otherwise, this app is great!
Was great, but one issue!
by Teen75 on 2019/12/16 05:04
Update: Rating was at 5 stars and now is 2! It used to block Safari which was a key feature but know it won’t! Please fix this ASAP! You had an amazing app, I regret updating now!!

Whenever you use “Flipd” - all of your applications are “reset”, which includes how they are organized on your phone, to the notification settings. For me this is significant bc I have notifications for Zendesk/Slack/Discord that are only permitted within my working hours. Any time I use Flipd, these are reset. New updates on Apple’s side cause issues like this. So routine usage of the app is not stable.
Okay..

I like the app And it’s concept but it actually made my apps disappear for longer then the time I put in. Had to call Apple to get it fixed. Won’t use again
This app bugged my phone
by Alia8956 on 2019/12/08 17:39
I set up a 1 hour lock out and now the next day and my apps are still not coming back. My phone is acting up and the customer service is not answering for 12 hours they will leave you in a chat and never answer even tho they claim they answer with in minutes they still haven’t answer any of my chats that I opened and I can’t fix my phone. WORST APP I HAVE EVER USED!!!!
Read the Privacy Policy first !!

“Installing this app will allow admin to manage your phone remotely including erasing all the data” No, thank you !
Used to love it until it moved all my apps
by mandylo on 2019/11/26 14:36
I loved this app because it’s the only one I found that actually worked. I need the full lock mode. But then I updated my phone and now if you use it, it resorts all your apps to alphabetical order, not the order you put them in. At least now they warn you before you lock it. Since I use this multiple times a day, it’s no longer a viable option. The mindful moments isn’t enough for me. All that said, I still haven’t deleted it because if they ever fix this super annoying bug, I’ll go back to the app. Hopefully soon!
This app was not executed very well
by Rewgan on 2019/11/24 20:51
So I got this app to block out apps from my phone, and I tried the full lock down for five minutes, it works but when the lock down ends, you are left with apps that are scattered and the settings for each app are messed up. If you don’t mind your apps being moved every time then I would get this app.
Love this app
by Bran Quiroz on 2019/11/18 19:41
Just from a few days of having this app, I feel much better about my efforts, my confidence, and know that everything hard or challenging I can overcome!
Doesn’t hide safari, rearranges all your apps
by sarahnesthetic on 2019/11/14 14:33
The lock mode feature would be cool except that after the 30 minutes was up, my apps were all rearranged and on different pages. Now I have to put them back the way they were. Also, since I can’t block safari, the app is basically as ineffective as just deleting twitter and Instagram.
This app saves me from myself but no longer works well
by Jalinz on 2019/11/12 14:48
With the new IOS, not even folders are protecting my apps from being rearranged after full lock mode. It’s very frustrating and sad because this app legit saved me from my smart phone addictive tendencies! I wish they would be more proactive about warning users that this would happen- it’s very frustrating - be aware before you use this that this may happen to you!
not bad
by 🌸👩🏻‍⚕️ on 2019/11/08 21:26
the timer stops if get out of the app and its not good if you want to study a file on your phone . and there is no chat room in group so we cant exchange ideas or ask questions. and the worst part is it doesn't show hours . it's only minute !
All these permissions and you don’t even block websites??
by mikeb029 on 2019/11/06 13:57
After going through all the work to set this up, I start the focus mode, it removes half my apps, I open safari and go to Facebook and it works. Complete useless concept if you can circumvent the whole thing by just going to the sites instead of using the app
Great app in theory but it rearranges all your apps
by Pinkwaters1997 on 2019/10/29 00:47
Great way to stop you from wasting time on social media and games. But after it disables your apps it rearranges them all. Not a big deal but i don’t want to re-arrange all my apps every time i use it. It’s super irritating. The app does warn you it does this though.
Disorganizes all the apps
by LB1986000 on 2019/10/17 20:34
I liked this app and the fact that hides all the apps but is is very inconvenient when all the apps reappear. They don’t appear in the location where they were. Instead they have a random location and you have to reorganize them. I stopped using the app
Just wish Safari would be hidden
by Marjotho on 2019/10/13 14:46
This app is great. Well designed, and I love how it keeps me off my phone. But ever since I updated my iPhone, Safari will not disappear with the other apps like it used to. And Safari is one of those apps I really have no self control over. Please update Flipd so that Safari can be hidden to!
Terrible
by PurpleHeadedWombBroom on 2019/10/10 06:16

very helpful only if the ordering and notification issues are fixed
by jiaxliu21 on 2019/10/09 00:10
I really like the full-lock mode, which can keep myself focused on school work. However, the ordering add-on doesn’t seem to work on my phone , as every time my apps got reordered after full-lock. This is really bothering me. I also don’t like that my phone keeps asking me about turning on notifications. So unless these issues can be fixed, I just cannot use it.

WONDERFUL APP
by Lalosha26 on 2019/10/04 18:00
I love this app. If you have a phone addiction, with one click, you can only call and text and nothing else. You can manage how much time you want to block your apps. It’s amazing once I block everything, I feel present and I have to live the moment. I don’t care that sometimes I have to fix the orders of my apps (not all the times) I think might be a bug. However the benefits it gives, cancel out the apps orders and all that. If you need your life back and you need to forget your phone. THIS APP IS FOR YOU!!!
needs update

5 stars before IOS 13
by Matt_2000 on 2019/10/01 01:46
I use full lock every day to not allow myself any distractions. It used to delete every app except for things like messaging. After IOS 13, safari and the App Store can still be used. Until they can hide it again I only give it 2 stars.
Not consistently reliable

Super Disappointed
by Jillybean177 on 2019/09/18 21:33
It keeps saying that I need a good connection and the correct setting. Both are fine and I still can’t get full lock down to work.
Great App, A Few Suggestions
by SocialLonerFromFrance on 2019/09/07 21:05
I don’t comment often but I really do love this app. It’s simple, useful, and efficient when it comes to helping me stay on task. However, there are a couple of things that I’d absolutely love to see in the next updates, and both have to do with (generally) the same thing. One: it would be great if we could choose which apps are allowed while we’re ‘Flipd’ off. There are a few apps that I need to use while studying, like Desmos, Google Classroom and similar apps. Two: the same goes for the ‘Full Lock Mode.’ I love the idea of it, but being able to keep select apps would be amazing. These two things are the only reasons I’m not using the app every time I study. Again, great app, and I hope you guys keep my ideas in mind :)
Full lock mode doesn't work well
by hibiscusmv on 2019/09/07 09:24
Its an OK app over all. The feature which attracted most was the full lock mode where it locks all the socializing apps. To my disappointment it locks my apps longer than the set time. I urge the creators to resolve this issue. Otherwise it's a good app.
Love it but need some features!
by RCPISHI on 2019/09/03 19:23
I like the app but wish it had a feature for full lock mode where u could specify which apps to get locked! I have apps for my school that I need to have access while on lock mode and unfortunately this app locks out everything all together. Hope they consider to add such features in near future n definitely before i finish my school lol
I use it almost every day
by Dietlind N on 2018/05/29 12:13
The first time I ran this app, I was anxious for the whole time it was activated. It made it Impossible for me to use my phone for near everything. Every downloaded app was hidden, and even some of the factory apps including my app store and safari as well. What i like about it is that you can't delete the Flipd app while it's running literally because it's not there to be deleted. The only things I have issues with are the fact that the process to keep the order of your apps is not as straightforward as It could be. Without the instructions from an online article I would have kept trying to install the extension without success. It gives the appearance of not having yet downloaded even though it's ready to go and that's confusing. Also, it would be nice if I could select exactly which apps i wanted to hide rather than just nearly disabling my phone. Other than that I would give the app 5 stars, it's really great.
Probably as good as full lock can get given iOS limitations
by Ashlee Y on 2019/07/24 17:09
(I was looking for an app that could achieve a true lock down of non-essential apps. I only tried the 5 minute lock down on this app once, and haven’t used the app since.) As many others have said, full lock is an excellent idea but not great in execution. Others complained about the apps being out of order - that was fine for me. What I can’t live with is having my notification settings reset every time I get back from lock mode. I assume this is how the app works: they achieve lock mode by uninstalling and reinstalling all of your applications. The profile you install gives their servers access to control your phone remotely - which is why an internet connection is necessary. However, it seems that the scope of what they can control is limited - most likely due to iOS’s own limitations. The additional script you download seems to be a workaround to reorganize your apps as you had before, but it doesn’t restore your notification preferences on the apps that were un/reinstalled. Your apps give you the “allow notifications” pop-up next time you go into each of them. If you are OK with default notification settings, maybe this is a limitation you can live with. I customize the notifications for each app and I am not willing to readjust those every time I use lock down.
My icons!
by Mollmoll007 on 2018/12/03 13:30
So yesterday I used for first time and loved the FULL LOCKDOWN. I was able to use text, email and phone but nothing else, well camera and standard apps I basically rarely use. I was surprised to find there was no way to disable this at least that I know of. Ok so here is why I gave it only a 3. I have the majority of my icons in a separate folder because I DONT like my screen cluttered with icons! So when my phone went OFF full lockdown ALL OF MY ICONS WERE ALL OVER MY SCREEN!!!!! If you are going to block them PLEASE PIT THEM BACK! Ok so it’s a free app does that give me the right to complain???? I would never pay $7.99 a month though or is it $5.99? I forgot but either one is way too much! Ok so last thing is that you can set an alarm, an alarm that is basically worthless because it is such a faint little “ting” that if you don’t have your phone right next to you it is worthless..... plus I haven’t seen a repeat feature for the alarm so when you miss that tinny ting you can set it to ting again and again till you turn it off. Other then those complaints I really liked it and will use it again. I set the 4 hour mode lockdown and when I need google I wasn’t able to access it but that’s good in one sense I guess... I got a it done!
Ok it’s good-some suggestions
by sayen princess on 2018/11/14 19:37
This is just something I wanted to say, you can ignore this part. So I installed the thing to keep my apps in order. Then I tested it. Guess what. It didn’t work. I followed every step and had PERFECT internet connection. Turns out I wasn’t supposed to restart my phone, so okay..... but otherwise best screen time app I’ve found. (Okay ignore that part) I have a few suggestions though: A medium lock. You have light lock and a full lockdown mode, so it would be nice have a medium lock. It would be, you choose apps to restrict for a certain amount of time, almost like the lockdown mode, or it’s like the lockdown mode, but you choose apps to keep. More apps to keep on lockdown mode. Not just any apps, but it would be nice to be able to keep some self help apps! That’s my main problem. Time tracker. I couldn’t think of a name for it, but it’s like you have say a hour to use a app every day before it disappears until the next day. Sorry for this being so long, but those are some suggestions I think would be cool. Thanks for helping with my screen addiction!!!
Scared
by Doddlekid20 on 2019/08/27 21:15
So I downloaded this to try to use it while I was studying. I set a 30 minute timer and I was left with just Apple apps. This thing scared me. It like you download it self and I couldn’t get my apps back, I was so scared and I spent my studying time figuring out how to disable it without the app. If this out go to settings and remove its access profile. Trust me this got my apps back. Don’t try shutting/powering it off that doesn’t help (I tried that twice.) I will try this app again and if it works I will raise my review to a 5 if it works and the company responds to me. If the company doesn’t respond my review stays a 1. *edit* I tried this again and the app didn’t show up it disappeared when I did the full lock down the app Flipid disappeared and I couldn’t get out of full lock down so one again I had to go to settings and remove the management. I don’t have time to do this every time I go in lock down. Also I think the price is too much it should be the price of 1 month forever and I think that doing the custom times should be free. Also the developers are slow they still haven’t responded and it’s been a couple of days. I’m at the point where I’m going to delete this app. It’s not worth any more of my time.
If you want a strict disconnection, this is for you!
by acwillet on 2018/08/19 17:29
Full disclosure: I have a phone addiction I wanted to control and a friend recommended Flipd. First few times even a half hour full block will drive you crazy but later you start to live like a 90s person who only used their phone for calls and texts -and whichever email you have associated to the default app on your phone. Other email apps won’t work- (which I’ve found is the only really useful things I do with my phone) so I have lost much less time since I installed flipd and I have learned how to disconnect from my phone a bit and just live life on the present (pretty philosophical, huh?) New version is pretty sleek looking and nice, and selection of time in the free version is reasonable. You also have the option for a light block if you are at a stage where your willpower is good and you need to check one of your downloadable apps, which is cool. Overall, I think it is one of the few productivity apps that do work! I love it.
Glad I found it. Awesome free version.
by Andriy Ivakhov on 2018/11/22 04:15
It’s probably my first review on the app ever. With the procrastinating soul, and plenty of time limitations installed already, i usually caught up myself “trying not to procrastinate”. Long time ago all social media was deleted from my phone but it didn’t really turned me into the productivity monster, I would find some hacks like reading telegram channels(READING can’t be procrastinating, right?!), constantly checking email/credit karma/headspace app. So far I tried: forest, focus at will, screen time internal, cold turkey on Mac, and maybe another thousand of apps like this. Most of them can be easily hijacked, probably in the lockout mode if you delete the previously installed profile you’ll get your life full of distractions back, but at least it’s harder than 6 digits of my passcode and just loosing another tree in forest. You guys did a really great job with groups, challenges, customization. I’m still surprised that your app can be easily used for free.
I f@$&?! love this app
by laerec on 2018/10/04 11:35
What I’ve been looking for fur. Eh. Vur. I don’t know what kind of voodoo magic the flipd folks work on my phone when it goes into full lock mode, but it’s exactly what I need. I am so much happier not having those moments of ‘oh look, I just wasted 30 minutes of my life scrolling instagram’. I open my phone, see that none of my apps are there, and don’t care. Now, I have such peace of mind from not having them there (when I’m in full lock mode), that I often enable it even when I’m not actively working or trying to be productive. It’s so much easier to be present. Also, make sure you add on the thing that puts your apps back where you had them before you go into full lock mode. And read the instructions and prompts for how to do that. I know, I know, reading instructions is a draaaag but they’re short and simple and you only have to do it once. Enjoy not feeling like a squirrel anymore!
One of the best focusing apps out there
by nsoni on 2018/03/21 06:15
This app is one of, if not the best app on iOS that helps you break away from your distracting apps. It goes way beyond just sending you a notification about stop using distractions apps and sites which can easily be dismissed. This locks all distracting from your phone by making them literally disappear. It was scary at first and thought there was a glitch and that my phone was erased but after some time everything came up. My only issue with this app is that after go full mode and the distracting apps disappear from your phone which is perfect and amazing but after the timer is over and the apps return by they’re in alphabetical order not the way I set it up. That’s the only reason I’m taking 1 star off. If they can somehow fix that after the timer is up then I will gladly change my review and pay for the app as necessary
I wanted to like this app...
by Stephsteph11 on 2019/02/06 15:55
This app is almost perfect. I could see this really helping me achieve my goals by helping me get off my phone so much. I didn’t even have issues with my apps getting oh of order like others mentioned. However, the nuisance of having my notification settings reset every single time you go into “full lockdown” is enough for me to delete this app. There’s no easy fix for this. Every time to go into a different app the app prompts you if you’d like to turn notifications on or off as it does when you first install an app. And whatever your settings were for the notifications before full lockdown gets erased. For example: for my email app, I only have the badge notifications turned on. After using full lockdown and selecting “allow notifications” I then got a default notification (with sound) every single time I got an email. Which is like every other minute. Which caused me to look at my phone to see why it vibrated/made noise. The exact opposite of what I’m trying to accomplish.
Freedom
by 856901 on 2020/03/19 14:57
This app was alright when I first downloaded and previously provided the ability to obfuscate apps.
Wish it had an auto-lock
by techburger on 2018/09/06 12:00
I am really pretty thankful for this app. It has improved my self-control when charging my phone next my bed at night. I haven’t really used any other feature besides the full lock. However, I do wish that the app had an auto-lock system that would allow you to set the time that you want it to lock, as well as give customized warning certain minutes before locking. It would be a lot more helpful because the main issue with digital self-control at night is having the self discipline to actually go on the app and lock you yourself out. If they found a way to auto lock you from the phone using a set amount of time, it would be so much more useful. I would pay for a premium subscription if that were the case.
Thank you for such an amazing app!!
by student1000000000 on 2018/10/21 21:54
This app has really transformed how I use my phone, particularly in the way I procrastinate. I can turn off all my apps with the touch of a button and then I can fall asleep without temptation. You know how it is: you crawl into bed and right as you ware about to turn off the light you decide to check email/instagram/amazon or whatever and then 2 hours later you realize you have fallen down the scroll. This amazing app has changed the way I fall asleep! I can’t thank you enough for helping me put a stop to my nighttime phone addiction! For a hot minute they needed to create a patch or something and the app didn’t work. They were quick to fix it but for those several days I was like “ack! Where is my app!” I use it almost every night!!!

Amazing,but...
by Nour Alanbari on 2018/07/11 17:20
I think this app is wonderful. I especially love the full lock option because it makes it so that you can’t use your distracting apps, whether you like it or not. My only suggestion for the developers would be to put an option to automatically flip your phone off at certain times. Unfortunately, I’m addicted to using my phone in bed and waste a massive amount of time because of that; it can be difficult for me to always choose to hard lock my phone since a part of me doesn’t want to. I think it’s safe to say that there are many others out there who have an addiction to social media (for example, due to Facebook’s never ending scroll feature on the newsfeed). I believe those trying to cut down on phone time before bed, in the morning when they wake up, etc. can benefit a lot from an auto-flip feature. Hope we can see this sometime soon! Other than that, the app works very well and I haven’t encountered any problems with it. Great job! Edit: I changed my rating from 4 stars to 5 because they’re unable to include an automatic feature due to limitations of the iOS. Hope that changes soon!
Flipd is the best!
by Amanda406 on 2018/09/03 14:39
This app is awesome. My brain doesn’t feel like mush that’s been overstimulated for every second of the day. I’m a small business owner, so I do need to access my social media accounts throughout the day. But I don’t need to access them every time I’m at a red light or every time a website is loading. I turn off my apps for 4 hours at a time and I’m free to just get to work. It’s amazing. Seriously, this is great! Only thing...just so everyone knows, you need to be in good cell service or have good WiFi in order for your apps to come back at the time they’re supposed to.
Most productive for those who truly mean it
by Naviero0783 on 2018/06/04 17:44
I have done some research and there is no other app that truly lets you to take a predetermined commitment and stick to it . The beauty of this app is that it literally locks down your apps , no other app does that , I am thinking it probably even goes against the agenda of most smart phone brands and that’s why it is such a pain to install . Anyhow, I rarely review apps but I must say this is the most productive app I have tried so far ! Keep it coming ! We will need more of these... They say Cortez burned his ships on shore to ensure everyone stayed inland and get done with their tasks... While it is not the most morally reassuring example , this is very close . Humans are prone to cheating ...
Extra settings for premium customers
by Lumin33rs on 2018/09/16 08:13
I have read a couple of reviews from premium customers. And I agree. I would love to be able to set my phone for certain times of the day that it should shut off. I don’t always have the self-control to shut it off myself. And I would love to be able to set it ahead of time for what times in the week I want it to be off and what times I want it to be on. PLEASE please please fix this!!!! It would make this app 110% useful It would also be nice if we could chose what apps we want to shut off. There are certain apps I want to close down but also certain apps I need to keep active due to school work but Flipd closes them down. I would a LOOOOOOVE to be able to pick exactly what apps we have to close and which ones will stay active!!!!
Helpful
by opop149 on 2018/09/03 03:47
This app has been extremely helpful in getting me to stop procrastinating! The full lock is quite useful, I just wish that I’m able to choose which apps to block like you can on other productivity apps! I don’t really need iMessage when I’m studying and have the full lock on, so that app can get distracting sometimes and I wish I could lock iMessage out too. The features without premium are reasonably and the app is still very usable without upgrading, you just get slightly more features with the stats and custom times. Overall, this app is great for students like me and I will continue to use it over Forest because of the full lock option!
I am still searching for a replacement and I really am so disappointed that they changed it, it was to be the only effective way for me to unplug and get stuff done!

so i downloaded this app and it was great but then when i used it for the first time my apps never came back and so i had to go into my settings and delete the system from my settings and when i did contact them it took forever for them to reply and all they told me was to try again and they are working on it so i tried it again multiple time and it still never brought my apps back and finally i gave up on the app. THEN my phone started to act really weird (ive had this same phone for almost three years now and have had 0 problems with it) it started blacking out shutting down on its own its not even connecting to my cellular data anymore and im stuck with basically an ipod that continually shuts down. DO NOT GET THIS PLEASEE seriously it damaged my phone that had no problems at all due to this app. I would give it negative stars if i could.
Good idea, bad execution
by Maggie Polk on 2018/07/27 05:26
I was super excited about this app because I have such a problem with being productive because I just can’t put my phone down. I put it on the full lock mode to where it would hide all my apps for an hour and I loved it and was so productive in that hour. However, when the hour was up and my apps reappeared, they were in alphabetical order and not in the folders I had them all in. I had to re-sign in to a couple apps as well as restore notification settings to multiple other apps. All of that drove me crazy and I would not want to have to re-organize my phone every single time I use the app. Makes me sad, I really wanted this app to work. Fix the app restoration problem and I’ll be back for sure!
Schedule/reminder needs to change to automatically tune on
by Lirenchloe on 2018/07/21 19:18
What’s the point of having to pay $3.99 a month to just have “unlimited reminders”of turning on the “flip off” on my phone? I can just set unlimited reminders on my phone calendar app (and it’s free!). People who has phone addiction need to have mandatory schedule to “flip off” their phones. Most of us don’t have the will power to “flip off” the phone that’s why we download the Flipd in the first place. Also the reminder is rather weak because it’s only a one time notification. If we don't have our phone in our hand at the exact set time, we would miss the notification. This Reminder itself is simply not effective enough. Setting up a “flip off” schedule is a commitment upfront. After a reminder asking if we want flip off our phone, there should be an option to opt out (no, I don’t want to flip out”) instead of opt in (yes, I want to flip out). So that if we don’t do anything that means we agree on our set schedule and the phone should automatically turn “flip off”, not the other way around. The app did good on the technology of hacking our phones and hiding all the apps, but not so good at behavior change strategies. I won’t be paying another $3.99 for the pointless reminder.
Terrific
by Alice Void on 2018/07/06 21:04
This is literally the application that I’ve been looking for. It has helped me take control of my time immensely! I’ve installed other apps like offtime and breakfree but none of them worked, until I stumbled upon flipd. This app is amazing, but of course it has its flaws like hiding every single app other than giving you a choice to choose which apps to hide. What would be great is: 1. Let you choose the apps you want to hide, while keeping everything else. 2. Keeping the order of everything when the time is over and you are able to access things. (i.g., folders and organization stays intact)
I also wish it had auto lock
by Rssssss134 on 2018/10/16 17:08
I have no self control. I need to be able to set a time in the app - say, 10 pm, when the app will lock me out of all of the “fun” apps that distract me and keep me from going to sleep. Until this app does that, I can’t give it five stars. Also, setting a reminder to turn the lock on doesn’t even seem to really work - I don’t get a sound or anything. I have the premium version and I’ve tried changing around my notification settings, but I can’t seem to get it to generate a reminder that catches my attention. Also, when you use the full lock mode, even if you have the other additional patch app installed, all of your notification settings in all of your other apps reset. This is annoying. Please fix because I really need this app. Thx.
Full Lock Mode needs work
by jodediah on 2018/09/08 02:31
I was excited when I found Full Lock Mode, because it would hide all my apps like Facebook and Snapchat, apps that i’m pretty addicted to, even though I hate to admit it. And they’re completely gone, including Flipd, so you can’t change your mind halfway through a session. The only problems are: 1. I can’t control what apps get hidden. And they’re completely gone, so I’m glad I did a trial run the first time I tried. But this led to my texting app WhatsApp, that I primarily text my boyfriend on, disappeared. Again, glad I tested it before I did longer sessions. 2. When your session is over, it adds back all your apps. BUT, they’re completely out of order and thrown about like a two-year old got into your phone. So, it took me about fifteen minutes to put things back in folders and rearrange everything. So, because this part of the app is so broken, it’s not worth using to me, so I won’t use it until it’s updated. I love the other parts of the app, like the study breaks and stuff, where it just tracks how long you’ve been off your phone, with little breaks for necessity.
Decent but has room to improve
by mino099216 on 2019/04/13 11:55
Flipd is great for what it does: keeps your phone on lockdown, so you can stop obsessively playing with it. However, there are a few times I would strongly urge the developers to consider that I think would make the app near perfect. 1. Manual Whitelist: Whether or not this is a slippery slope should be the user’s discretion. I need certain apps to study that are automatically blocked on Full Lock, such as Anki or Quizlet. It would be nice to have this ability to place all my games on Lock while still granting me access to my flashcards. 2. Have the icons in the same place when they return. Everything gets all scrambled up and all the notification settings are reset. This tests my patience. 3. There are times when my apps never return after my set time has expired, and I have to manually go into my settings to uninstall the profile. I am always connected to the internet, so I’m not sure what the problem is, but I hope this can be fixed. These problems are nearly enough for me to consider a different app, so I hope they will be taken seriously. Thank you.
Works well- except full lock
by SCG-D on 2018/04/19 23:09
I really enjoy this app! I feel more productive when I use it, it really helps keep me off my phone. However, when I use the full lock option, my apps won’t return after the allotted amount of time is up. On the FAQ it says it’s due to poor internet connection, but my phone works totally fine with the WiFi connected. I’ve also tried it without being connected to WiFi and it still won’t work properly. I then have to delete the profile, which rests all the notification settings for my apps and is very annoying. Other than that, this app works great! It’s just a shame the full lock doesn’t work because I think it would have been really useful.
Flipd is terrible
by MEEEE👌🏼 on 2018/12/30 19:31
So I set my flipd to four hours so I could study well however after the four hours were up and I knew that they were up bc I checked the time that I set it my apps did not reappear. I waited another couple hours for them to come back but they never did and I just had to disable the management through settings. However now, forgetting about all that and passing it as a glitch, I decided to set my phone to a full lock session again except it literally won’t do anything and I’m sitting there waiting for the full lock session to begin but It simply won’t. This app only works fine for the first few times you use it but after that it just gets bad and constantly glitches and doesn’t work properly. I would not recommend this app because it doesn’t work properly.
Flipd

About two weeks ago, I was searching on ways to be focusing on my work, and how to not easily be distracted by any distractions. Especially my phone, which always distracts me. So I decided to try the app as it was worth a shot. I tried it, and it was true, it really DID help me focus. I really recommend it. You'll find more information in the app regarding how to use it. You'll be surprised what the app really offers. You'll love the app more than anything one day. It really is helpful. I'll use it now since I need to study😂🤞🏻. I'm telling you I am an easy victim of being distracted.
Full lock - Apps in Order feature didn’t work during iOS upgrade
by Love My Pencil, Love my Kindle on 2018/10/16 10:48
Very frustrating to have apps not organized after Full lock mode. I downloaded and installed the workaround to keep apps organized. After two failed attempts it worked...until I installed the iOS 12 update while on Full Lock. I put into Full Lock at bedtime to avoid peaking at the phone in the middle of the night. The workaround app disappeared during the update and all my apps were in disarray (for now the third time). Putting things back in order and the associated frustration is very annoying and totally detracts from the app experience. Any zen calm freed from the distraction of the phone have been superseded by the app mess cleanup efforts.
Could be great—see below
by Yaharasoccer on 2019/06/07 20:43
I have two major problems with this app. First, after full-lock mode ends, I need to manually allow notifications for each and every app AGAIN. Can you imagine trying to do pomodoro with this? Second, how about the people who try to skirt the system (myself included)? Let’s be real, if you need full-lock, you also need a foolproof way to be locked out. I can break this lock by going into settings and removing the permissions I granted to go into full-lock mode. This may seem petty but imagine working on something with a deep work session that lasts 4 hours and then realizing you needed to do something on your phone midway through—completely destroys the purpose of this app
Great concept but app needs work
by Mike Van L on 2018/04/24 00:06
App would not exit “full focus” mode sometimes but will eventually exit. Today it didn’t and I had to remove the profile which now made all my apps out of order. Very annoying. Update: developer seems to have zero understanding of the problem. Yes removing the profile will restore the apps back, which is what I did, but it still doesn’t solve the issue with all apps being completely out of order. I think the developers should acknowledge that they have an issue and have yet to solve it instead of pointing user to a FAQ even though they have gone through the necessary steps to resolve the issue. Resolving issue #1 created an even more frustrating issue #2. *** to * for not acknowledging user’s frustration.
Great app, full lock mode needs adjusting
by squirrelgirl2749 on 2018/10/27 20:17
I like the app but I wish there was a way you could choose which apps disappeared for the full lock mode. Just because I want to stay off of Instagram doesn’t necessarily mean I don’t need to use Venmo or check my email at random times for work. I also don’t like how once the apps reappear they’re all disheveled and out of the order they were in previous to locking them. It makes it hard to find the apps I need every time the full lock mode is over. I love the ambient noise options it has for quiet time. It just stinks that I can only use full lock mode if I know for sure I won’t have any work to do.
Could be better
by TheAnonymousAnteater on 2018/08/07 04:49
While I thought that the app wasn’t badly executed, I felt that it could be improved upon. After my first time going into full lock mode, I was shocked to see that my apps were scattered completely out of the order they were sorted into before, causing me to spend an extra ten minutes reorganizing them. Additionally, putting my phone in full lock mode permanently disabled my push notifications for several social media apps, leaving me with no choice but to delete and reinstall them. However, the ability to connect your Flipd Off time to your health app could be pretty useful, and I liked how there was more than one choice when it came to turning off your phone.
Phone gets stuck in Flipd mode when I need my Amtrak pass and other work related apps
by Datsolalee on 2019/01/12 09:21
I would love to give this app 5 stars and was on my way to do just that, until I put my phone on Flipd mode for the night (8 hours.) when I woke up, it was still in Flipd mode. I thought I miscalculated my time. But I didn’t. For the WHOLE DAY, my phone stayed stuck, I couldn’t access my Slack, work mail apps and the other excruciatingly important functions of my phone. I had to get my monthly commute pass printed out because I couldn’t get my Amtrak pass. And I had no way to communicate with my co-workers on my commute. Nightmare. I emailed them from my laptop later the day. No response. At 5pm I had it, and googled it, and figured out a way to get into the system and delete Flipd’s override. To this day they still haven’t contacted me after my email cry for help. I thought perhaps it was just my phone that were funky and reinstall everything to make the app run smooth. 2 days later it happened again. GUYS - this is really pathetic. Yes - I need to take a break from my phone. But when the time is up, I have work related apps I need to access.
Bugs Need Improvement
by Halimah Jung on 2018/07/26 00:00
The overall concept of this application is great; Flipd does what it says it will and even a bit more. However, after one use of the “Hard-Lock” software, I found that many of my apps were missing from my settings page and I am no longer able to receive notifications any notifications from the majority of my apps. Also the Flipd Organize software does not download, at all. TL/DR: Flipd is a great app all around; but bugs not only cause the inability to receive notifications from other apps, but also remove most apps from your phones settings page. Flipd Organize does not download.
Great app!!
by Soloha on 2018/05/22 03:37
This is the best app I found for focusing. Every time I use full lock, I worry a little that the apps wouldn't come back in the same order, but they do! One suggestion - every time a full lock session ends, I have to enable notifications for each app manually. If I do several sessions per day, this becomes very time-consuming. If you can come up with a way to enable notifications automatically after each session, it would be great! Maybe I'm not doing something right. If so, please let me know. Thanks!
Used to be great
by Kim 123456 on 2018/09/10 16:32
I'm not sure when it happened but over the last few versions of the app, the light lock does not hold after you lock your phone. When you unlock your phone, it ends the session and says congrats you did it and somehow thinks you've completed the session. I've been waiting for this to be fixed and even saw that the description for light lock says you should be able to lock your phone and come back and it will save the session. It's not super useful if it doesn't work if your phone is locked...
Actually works for me
by Rachel H. K on 2019/09/03 02:20
Flipd has actually guilt me into studying more and being more productive in general. When you leave on a break, it can’t last for more than 5 minutes or else you lose the session. When you leave the app for like two seconds, it does the same. There’s also this mode where you turn on some white noise- I personally like the campfire one. But now, every time I hear the crackling sounds of a campfire, I feel like working; and I actually do go to study!
Must have for students.
by I'malilangry on 2018/08/28 17:36
If you don’t have self control/ the ability to use willpower constantly to stay off social media then this app is perfect. Really the only reason to download this app is for the full lock mode which hides all of your downloaded apps for a set period of time and you can’t get them back until the time is up. I’m a engineering student with two jobs, so I really need to be able to get work done. Obviously telling yourself to work and actually working are two different things. This app really helps with that
Works but could be better
by arip90 on 2018/04/03 04:15
The app works and does what it’s supposed to do. Looking at earlier comments, it seems that the issue with apps is resolved with the download of their second app “Flipd Organized” that the app routes you to once you have made a profile. The major drawbacks are as follows: 1. It appears that in order to add the permission to get the full block, I had to delete my work’s permissions... I will see if I can fix this on my side. But it is not ideal to only be able to have one or nothing for the data management. 2. The scheduling part of the app is not what I was expecting. By only sending a reminder to lock my phone, the app is really putting too much power in my hands to make decisions... I was hoping that once I made a schedule it would simply implement. 3. A major weakness of the app appears to be that I can block all downloaded apps or none. It would be fantastic if I could selectively allow my work apps (Skype, outlook, gmail, notion, etc.)
Nice concept kludgy execution
by WayToomuchstuff on 2018/09/17 12:33
After a lot of difficulty I did get the app to work. When I ran a "full lock" it allowed me access to phone and message functions and a random assortment of apps that weren't social media related that were scattered across my home screen. The app sorting function never installed properly. When the full lock expired I had to re-enable notifications for every single application. Not good at all! The use of a device profile makes me nervous and the security certificate was outdated and took a few days to get updated. Sent 2 support requests addressing these issues never heard back. Better solution: skip the app and put your phone in a drawer
Keeps me committed

I have a problem with constantly being on my phone even at work. I needed something that I could not cheat or override and this was it. I put it in full lock down mode and all I can do is call or text. All social media, browsers and apps are totally hidden and inaccessible . Gets me off my phone. It was hard at first I will admit. I was even having anxiety issues but I have calmed down and kept with my lock down schedule. Thank you for helping me.

🥺

I genuinely LOVE this app! i’m a high school student and i’ve been using the study/unplug live constantly, there’s something so refreshing about looking at your phone when you get distracted and seeing that thousands of other people are studying along with you, it motivates me to keep working. went from slacking off to 2+ hours of studying a day. ILYYY🥺💕

I love this app so much but you recently updated and took away 1 hr study for free users and that was VERY disappointing. I use this app often enough that that feature was amazing but not often enough for me (a student with loans) to spend on membership. Please bring it back :(

Glitches
by Kholoud94 on 2020/08/12 10:56
Am I the only one for who the app has glitches sometimes? I would do a full on 1 hour session and I would get a notification saying that it’s ready for review or whatever but when i unlock my phone and I go back into the app, the timer would keep going at whatever minute it was when I locked my phone! Very annoying for someone who wants to track how much time they studied daily
The screen needs to be on
by skinny_much on 2020/08/10 16:43
I paid for premium for longer times. There does not seem to be a way to use it without keeping the display on. Other apps don’t require this. It is a crazy use of battery and leads to unintentional taps if in your pocket or elsewhere.

so now or requires payment?

by actualkat96 on 2020/06/18 17:31
The fact that you can’t even customize the length of default timers is annoying.

Thanks for this update and this version 🙏🏻😍It’s so good.
Like it before
by TSlice1111 on 2020/04/28 18:47
I previously liked this app when it was simple and you could pay extra for the lock feature to. I guess now Apple now requires them to make it a separate app which is a little more annoying. Plus there are to many lock features imo. I liked it a lot more when it was a simple app with one main job. Get off your phone and be productive

by idaelogs on 2020/04/18 20:24
I just wanted to test the app, but forgot to unsubscribe.

Without it, Im gonna need my 39.99 back please.

pretty but everything useful costs $$$
by yvnggks on 2020/03/01 02:13
cute but no functionality/customization for free users. most apps like this offer three free categories to customize for yourself and have more cost money. this one i could only use “focus” and even when i added a tag, i couldn’t see my time on it or delete featured i didn’t use. pretty and a great idea but disappointing for those who can’t pay

Read Before you Purchase
by optimistically disappointed on 2019/12/12 20:24
Whenever you use “Flipd” - all of your applications are “reset”, which includes how they are organized on your phone, to the notification settings. For me this is significant bc I have notifications for Zendesk/Slack/Discord that are only permitted within my working hours. Any time I use Flipd, these are reset. New updates on Apple’s side cause issues like this. So routine usage of the app is not stable.
Okay..
by Sabzzbabii on 2019/12/11 05:17

My phone is acting up and the customer service is not answering for 12 hours they will leave you in a chat and never answer even tho they claim they answer with in minutes they still haven’t answer any of my chats that I opened and I can’t fix my phone.

I wish they would be more proactive about warning users that this would happen- it’s very frustrating - be aware before you use this that this may happen to you!

by mikeb029 on 2019/11/06 13:57

Great app in theory but it rearranges all your apps
by Pinkwaters1997 on 2019/10/29 00:47
Great way to stop you from wasting time on social media and games. But after it disables your apps it rearranges them all. Not a big deal but i don’t want to re-arrange all my apps every time i use it. It’s super irritating. The app does warn you it does this though.

by jiaxliu21 on 2019/10/09 00:10
I really like the full-lock mode, which can keep myself focused on school work. However, the ordering add-on doesn’t seem to work on my phone , as every time my apps got reordered after full-lock. This is really bothering me. I also don’t like that my phone keeps asking me about turning on notifications. So unless these issues can be fixed, I just cannot use it.

THIS APP IS FOR YOU!!!
needs update

the extra application to keep apps in order doesn’t work with ios 13 for me ☹️
5 stars before IOS 13
by Matt_2000 on 2019/10/01 01:46
I use full lock every day to not allow myself any distractions. It used to delete every app except for things like messaging. After IOS 13, safari and the App Store can still be used. Until they can hide it again I only give it 2 stars.
Not consistently reliable
by Chrisman1959 on 2019/09/24 23:36
I am paying for a service that has not worked aince this afternoon, no matter what I do. At first I set it for 15 minutes and my apps never reappeared, even after two hours. So i reinstalled, and nothing. Doea not work
Super Disappointed
by Jillybean177 on 2019/09/18 21:33
It keeps saying that I need a good connection and the correct setting.

DO NOT GET
by student1034 on 2018/04/23 06:20
so i downloaded this app and it was great but then when i used it for the first time my apps never came back and so i had to go into my settings and delete the system from my settings and when i did contact them it took forever for them to reply and all they told me was to try again and they are working on it so i tried it again multiple time and it still never brought my apps back and finally i gave up on the app.

Room for Improvement

Idea is good, execution is not great.

Great app!!
by Soloha on 2018/05/22 03:37
This is the best app I found for focusing.
