It was good :(
by i like arizona ice tea on 2019/05/18 19:04
I used to love this app it really made my music experience better but there is a crackle staticky noise from the bass boost and I know some one is going to say it’s my headphones but it’s not I tried multiple headphones and my book shelf speakers and my sub even a totally different device and it still does it :( the sound is horrible and it disappointed me when it started after an update please look into this issue with the app or show me a way on how I can fix this if it’s something on my end thank you. although the app is a must have without the crackle :(
It’s Awesome 🎧🎸🎧

Bait and Switch
by Factsmith on 2019/05/13 20:56
You know what stinks? When an app maker (any app, really) posts their app without telling you up front that it’s not free, making you waste your time and data installing it and running it. Only then, after trying it for a minute or two, do they tell you that it will cost $11.99 per month to use it. You know, like this BOOM app. Don’t waste your time.

by egostool on 2019/05/08 08:44
there is no icon or whatsoever things to delete a song or a folder . old version has much better interface. asked to the support team about that and still no reply. we really dont want to use double space for songs.
PLEASE FIND A WAY FOR IT TO WORK WITH APPLE MUSIC
by Britt Dub on 2019/05/07 14:17
I’ve spent months looking for a good EQ app and this is by far the best one I’ve come across. The only problem is that is does not work with Apple Music. If you all could please please please find a way to work with Apple Music then this app would be perfect and I would definitely buy the one year subscription. I know that this app is exactly what I need, but it’s extremely frustrating that it does not work with Apple Music. If it ever works with Apple Music then I would definitely rate this app 5 stars.
Excellent app for TIDAL
by KnottySpirals on 2019/05/07 11:19
I use BOOM app for TIDAL Hi-Fi on my iPhone 7 with ARCAM DAC amplifier phone case the music sounds phenomenal. Bass is tight and soundstage is defined. I highly recommend this app to enhance your listening experience.
Minimal, well developed and effective
by akberkay on 2019/05/05 20:36
I like the app, i use it on my mac as well, gives the music a much more clear bass and makes the tracks sound live
Doesnt work with Spotify premium!
by Rud3dog on 2019/05/04 16:04
Customer service would be a 0 out of 10. Feels like a abandoned app with out support. Stay away and buy something else.
More Headroom Plz!
by BiII Murray on 2019/05/02 19:56
Seriously. This app is gimmicky. An incredibly bizarre, silly “3D Surround” function and a lame, proprietary “Intensity” feature. How about just making a fully (spectrally) expanded EQ which doesn’t clip at like +5db? That’d be nice—and literally already is the case for your wonderful desktop app. Until this problem, at least, is fixed this app is kinda useless to me. Y’ALL ARE BETTER OFF JUST USING SPOTIFY’S BUILT IN EQ. Which is to say nothing of that app’s substantially more navigable and responsive UI.
Love the app, just I hope you’re rich
by Buster3369 on 2019/04/30 22:37
This app is great and it sounds very good. Just, you need to spend $12/year to get all effects and no ads. I think they should just make the app $5 or $10 and get rid of the in app purchases. That’s my thought on that.
Upgrade is surely needed
by Ntejeffurun on 2019/04/29 20:26
I wonder when the UI of this wonderful app is going in for a total makeover. It is so drab. So awkward. Please do something about this and I will declare you a five star general. Thanks Austin. Nigeria

The difficulty in stoping the song

Amazing app!!
Works like magic!
by Antonio de alex on 2019/04/21 10:08
One of the best onboarding experience in an app! helped me understand what to expect before signing up for anything; After a short trial period, signed up for 6 month plan to listen to my fav songs on Spotify
AMAZING at first but what happened now
by matt201gamer on 2019/04/21 03:47
I like how affordable it as if only 7 dollars for 6 months compared to other apps at 7$ a moth/ week haven’t got premium but I’m gonna eventually buy it , keep up the amazing work, only down side is that some songs are copyright protected but it’s alright, (1 week later)uh why is there ads In the middle of music sometimes it scares me cuz I’m playing at full volume but it’s not to loud because of my equalizer but the. The ad comes and hurt my ears
Subscription Based???
by Mr. Harry Otto on 2019/04/19 18:41
This is a music player and should just be a straight and simple purchase. Paying you every 6 months or year is absurd.
Must have

Wow!!! It sounds great! It is amazing!!!
My Library stalls when loading Spotify playlists.
by Baylien84 on 2019/04/19 02:51
My Library takes forever to load. It’s quite annoying when I’m working or trying to work out; even driving. I’m forced to sit in silence for 15 mins or more before I can play my own music through Spotify. This needs to be fixed ASAP. Any suggestions??
Gimmicky
by Diamond Records on 2019/04/17 16:37
Yeah 3D audio is pretty stupid. It just makes it sound more appealing to clueless consumers. If you want that experience, you need to an open back headphone
Don’t Waste Your Time With Others!
by Hausponce on 2019/04/17 13:19
I have been a BOOM user for well over a year now. I my try a different “Music Enhancer” every now and then but, I always come back to BOOM. My thing nowadays is “Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds”. Without a good EQ Bluetooth is garbage! Yes!... I said it! GARBAGE! But Wait!... BOOM changes everything! In my opinion, it’s almost like “Devine Intervention”! “YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN” to justify the cost of those BT Earbuds! Try the SEVEN DAY FREE TRIAL! You decide? And then know “Becoming a Real Audiophile is not a Bad Thing!”
Incompatible with Apple Music.
by k0rraa on 2019/04/15 15:07
The app makes all my songs sound so much better and most importantly it increases bass without sacrificing any of the other frequencies. That being said, as mainly an Apple Music user the app is UNUSABLE because Apple protects all their music with DRM, so the developers are unable to Apply Boom effects to the songs. I understand this is a problem with Apple and not the Boom developers, but I strongly encourage them to find a workaround to this issue because it basically makes the app incompatible with Apple music users. The moment this app works with Apple Music songs and can be used offline is the moment I buy a subscription, until then I’m sticking to the default Apple Music app
Working extremely great in my Camaro
by bhad_alvin on 2019/04/14 09:25
I have a 2017 Chevy Camaro 1SS which didn’t come with the premium stereo system. There wasn’t any bass and the sound quality was pretty bad. But now, the Boom App provides me crazy bass and insane sound quality. I do not have to pay $600up to install and buy a new amplifier or subwoofer.
Expensive. Yearly 12 usd.

Enhances music, but...
by medium rare reviewer on 2019/04/11 07:16
Paying once to unlock the equalizer is worth it. But a subscription fee for when you stream is insane! A subscription fee for an equalizer?! That's nuts.
Great.... but:
by TravisAK on 2019/04/11 06:13
This is a great app. I’ve probably tried every music player in the App Store and this is by far the best. Beautiful clean interface. Easy to use and the effects do add new life to your headphones. There are a LOT of optional settings to play around with. ONE STAR OFF FOR THE YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION NONSENSE!! Just charge a one time flat fee so we can be done with it. I paid the subscription because it’s worth it and I’m gullible, but I would have happily paid a bit more for a one time fee. Update: the bass is blowing out my headphones. (A few different ones; Beats, Grado) I’ve tried turning off the bass boost and it doesn’t do much. The only fix is to turn off effects which defeats the point. Is there a way to dial down the bass a bit more without having to build a custom eq? Overall still a great player though. (Prefer the Vibrant and Flat settings. Both have same issue)
Extremely slow
by JohnCenaReviews on 2019/04/10 14:39
Bought it on my MacBook and have loved it ever since. Found the app and I thought my dreams had come true. Upon first launch things went smooth. Connected it to Spotify and everything was fine. I got down with music and closed the app. However now whenever I open it, it takes it 30 years to load up my Spotify playlist, sometimes does not even load. Restarted the phone and and actually loaded, but now won’t play the songs. Think I’ll just stick to my crappy Spotify EQ. But I’ll continue using my Mac app

Totally rocks!
by KD Blueschild on 2019/04/07 18:13
By far the best EQ, best MP3 player that I have ever had on my iPhone!
Great app but....... PLEASE READ!!!!
by JBG1998 on 2019/04/07 04:05
The app is amazing. I really feel the music boost and base. However it is really irritating to see how it always disconnects from my Spotify account. I have to do this all the time. It interrupts because I can’t play another song until I re-authenticate again. Also the songs play a little ahead of time. Like 5 seconds ahead. Please try to fix these small bugs. Your app is great and I think my 1 year membership is reasonable.
Love the Eq
by BJMatthew on 2019/04/07 02:55
You can listen to Spotify using the advanced Eq and that for me is enough. One needs to keep signing in but apart from that this is an amazing app!!!
Not working.
by Sankles on 2019/04/06 23:49
I would rate higher, only if the app actually worked after the first use. After the first use, the music player would just stop outright. I would get no playback, and downloading from Dropbox was laggy af. Definitely not a good music player, but hey, atleast it sounded good.
JUST Don't bother... They'll take your money and run.
by SageGod787 on 2019/04/02 15:01
I bought the life time back when it first came out. It was awesome since i had an iPhone and took it with me. It had the sound effects and all, back then they didn't have the"streaming"thing but who cared i had my own music. Well they added a couple of streaming features and a subscription so they thought, well the hell with the costumers that bought lifetime.... To them your lifetime obviously means until they make changes to the app... Now god forbid i do anything without getting the subscription ad popping up and the effects i had purchased for life.. No more can access them, so now it's a useless app in the store. I don't write reviews ever...i had to warn, trust me don't bother👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿

Downloaded Spotify songs WERE getting cut off but better now.
by blaqmare on 2019/03/29 17:04
Very good app and CERTAINLY improves sound output and quality on my Bose headphones BUT it cuts songs off downloaded on Spotify (NOT live-streaming) about 5secs too early. Adjusting Crossfade option changes nothing. I’m an audiophile and consider the issue a major disruption in my listening experience. Will use the app every few weeks to see if it’s been fixed. Will update this review if the situation improves. UPDATE 3/23/19 10am CST: Surprisingly, there was improvement! It cuts off much less of the song now but still cutting off about 2secs at the end of each song. :( UPDATE 3/23/19 2:30pm CST: Very responsive updates and not as mad as before but the tail end of certain songs are still being cut off. :( UPDATE 3/29/19 11:57am CST: Omg. Major overall improvement because almost every song has stopped getting cut off!!! It’s too bad that the ending to “Lemon Eyes” by Meg Myers still gets cut off early 😕 It’s one of my favorite songs. The “lemon eyes” song ending does not cut off on Spotify app. I will give 5 stars to Boom when I see a complete fix.

Doesn’t work for Apple Music
by The app is unique on 2019/03/25 02:15
It HAS a variety of options like what type of headphones are you wearing, sleep timer, shows your playlists, it’s great but doesn’t work for my Apple Music because it’s “DRM protected”
Bigger soundstage
by Wmillik on 2019/03/24 01:51
The soundstage is the first feature that pops out. Been exploring all the features, getting closer & closer to the ideal sound. Yeah I know it doesn't exist, but Boom has all the tools to tweak my sound for hours in search. Love it

5 Stars for 3-D Alone
by ErikDPhillips on 2019/03/22 18:07

Skips intro
by hsjshdja on 2019/03/21 21:54
This would be a 5 star review but a lot of times I’ll be listening to music and it skips the intro of the song. I’ve tried doing everything in terms of playing around with the settings and looking up solutions, but to no avail. Please fix!
Only good eq on the App Store
by Elcz12 on 2019/03/20 20:15
I don’t like the surround effect and I’m not super happy about paying for a feature I’m not using but the equalizer portion is excellent though I would it to be more in depth ie gain settings and dynamic bands
Disappointed

Stop pop ups
by Cynarchy on 2019/03/14 18:25
The app works great with the in app purchase already for the 3D sound etc. However, I wish that the app would stop with the constant notifications asking whether I enjoy the app, asking for reviews, or asking that I purchase a subscription. Otherwise, it’s a good app.
One of the best sound enhancer apps
by ucolina on 2019/03/13 01:13
I have a curated, extremely large music collection in my iPhone and always looking to improve the sound experience with headphones. When started to use Boom, and combined with great headphones, elevated my experience to a “WOW!”, regardless of music genre the sound quality is enhanced in 100%, deep power bass, cristal clear trebles and the option the customize the sound effects (if you buy it). Works for me, I consider that Boom is one the best sound enhancer apps in the AppStore. Cheers!

by Sirronalot on 2019/03/12 23:12
I love this app, Ive tried quite few. This is only one I found that works with streaming especially Spotify. Great job!
Disappointed.
by Oliboy on 2019/03/12 09:24
First off, I only wanted to try and then purchase the app for the sound enhancement feature. After the trial period, it turns out this app is subscription based and not a one time purchase. I don’t need streaming services. The option to use the sound enhancement for my own personal music library is all I need. Secondly, the app doesn’t extend the actual volume limit of the iPhone unlike the desktop version does so what’s the point. Sound effects don’t mean anything unless the volume is actually enhanced. Thr ability to enhance the volume limit is the reason I purchased this app for my iMac and my MacBooks. Very sadly and unfortunately- this feature is NOT available for this mobile device version! No good 👎🏻

by Some Independent Designer on 2019/03/08 06:06
I’m not sure exactly what I expected, other than my friend’s recommendation that this app was a game changer for the Bose QC 35s. I tried different genres and differed EQ settings, and 100% of the time, the sound was cleaner and better with the effects OFF. Disappointing.

Great app but enough with the marketing
by stealthnoodle12 on 2019/03/06 17:15
I love Boom. I use it for my desktop and mobile device. Music would not be as good without it! But Boom, whoever is in charge of your push notifications, tell them to put more thought in before they hit send and stop sending so many notifications in general. I’m officially annoyed and turning them off. They are useless messages. Today I was notified with “Its half way to the weekend! Get going with Boom!”. What am I supposed to get out of that? I know it’s Wednesday...it’s literally displayed above your push notification on my lock screen. I’ve been getting messages like this almost every day. tl;dr Great job engineering team. You’ve created apps that are a must have. Marketing team (I assume), make your push notifications informative and useful for your users.
The Boom Factor
by DocBowie on 2019/03/04 19:18
I have tried out several different music apps. Boom is the best I have tried. It has added what has been missing from my streaming from my iPad. It has added bass and depth to my stereo system. Also, it works well with my Sonos speakers.
Boom for iOS is the best music app ever!
by Molten Metal USA on 2019/03/01 06:03
As an audiophile for over 40+ years who embraced the dawn of the MP3 revolution I listen to an eclectic range of music that spans multiple decades and genres. Unfortunately, the tonal qualities, dynamics, and loudness differences across my music spectrum varies immensely which necessitated frequent volume and EQ adjustments. In an attempt to achieve the best listening experience I often had to EQ and/or use compression on the MP3 file itself (before adding it to my library) to try and optimize and smooth out my listening experience. Suffice to say many, many hours were spent (read: wasted) tweaking my MP3’s! There had to be a better way?! I explored a variety of Windows, Android, and Apple products that would effortlessly and seamlessly tweak the sound of my vast, diverse audio library ‘on the fly’ and Boom, it hit me – no really, Boom: Music Player & Equalizer. Boom for iOS boasted you would ‘Feel Your Music with 3D Surround Sound’ and that it was the ‘Best Bass Booster and equalizer for your iPhone’. After using Boom for a several months now I can honestly say it is the best thing to ever happen to my music listening experience. I set the Effects slider to the middle, the Intensity slider ¾ up, and leave the Equalizer to the ‘AUTO’ preset and everything sounds fantastic (especially the older, pre-high compression era songs). I use the 3D Surround (with Full Bass) while wearing headphones, however, prefer to turn off the 3D in the car (sounds better to me). Make sure to select the proper Headphone type in the settings drop down menu. For the absolute best listening experience I also use a Windows program called ‘MP3Gain’ to normalize my MP3’s before loading them into my library; which gives the songs a similar ‘apparent volume’ (thus minimizing volume adjustments between tracks – do yourself a favor and check out MP3Gain). Thank you Global Delight for breathing new life into my audio library with this awesome app!
Actually paid for an app first time in years.
by Krownpower on 2019/02/28 01:40
I really paid 7 bucks for this because it's definitely more than a 7 dollar difference from earbuds to the subs in the trunk this thing makes a real difference! Mind blown. Basshead. Audiophile.

I love boom two, but…
by SamBaquet on 2019/02/23 22:07
I’ve been enjoying Boom2 since it came out I think, yet I have not been able to use Boom2 while either streaming songs on YouTube Red nor listening to songs I have downloaded on YouTube Red. My question is: can I apply Boom3 while streaming YouTube Red? I think Boom2 is the best thing out there, but I’ve not been able to fully benefit from its presence on my IPhone because I am not a subscriber to iTunes nor Spotify etc. I only stream on YouTube Red. Any thoughts? But listening to my personal music collection on boom two is a miraculous experience. I cannot imagine not having it in spite of the mentioned obstacles, above.

by qzwxec on 2019/02/17 01:58
Ok the app makes music go from dull to vibrant ! The difference is amazing !! BUT for Tidal user, there is a serious lag when switching between songs. I think the app does not prefetch song . I am very sure it is not my connection , my WiFi speed is above 100Mbps. Using the Tidal app won’t show this issue.
Cannot live without it anymore

I cannot listen to music without this app anymore. Once you listen through it your life would be changed 😅
Most Excellent

I had no clue that an app like this existed, but I was looking for an app that enables users to customize their own EQ settings and by far I’m happy that I stumbled upon this app. The interface is aesthetic looking but it would be nice to have the creators work on the flow of some tabs. Other than that I’m satisfied with this product.
FANTÁSTIC!!!

Amazing App. Works perfect. I have a JBL charge 3. Deep Bass. Very good definition. You can create your own Eq curve.
Love it!

Amazing sound quality!!! Huge difference
by MRC-Pilot on 2019/02/13 00:11
Amazed by the quality of sound and options. My headphones and Car sound system is now upgraded with just $10 investment. Highly recommend this app for all music lovers. It even controls the sound output to each speaker in my car. Absolutely love it!!
Another level

Excellent sound, but expensive
by Raftman2 on 2019/02/09 23:31
I recommend the app for it's great improvement of the sound, especially the bass, but ask if comparable improvements cannot be achieved with equalizer apps and some adjustments to the sound profile.
Perfect for amplifying

Bought some Bose Sound Sport Free true wireless and they sounded super crisp. But lacked in volume in my honest opinion. I looked around for a music amplifier app and this popped up. Gave it a try and tried different settings. These fit the bill perfectly. Did the 2day free trial and they were great. Bought the year because of how well it amplified my Bose. My one drawback is it seems to disconnect every now and again from your music source and you have to close the app and reopen, then search again. Other than that it works well for my use.

I’m familiar with virtual surround sound with gaming and I think it works great for what it is. Not sure how it would work with music so I came across this app which is free for like 5 days. Plenty of time to test it. I didn’t really know the difference at first. I could tell there was a difference just not sure what. So I was starting to wonder if this was a gimmick after listening to a whole album of one of my favorite bands. I then started to listen to the same album without the Boom effects or app. I couldn’t even finish the first song without wanting to go back to the Boom app effects. It definitely sounds more full and it is easier to pick up multiple sounds and voices distinctly. I am using this app with my Beats Solo 3 headphones. On some songs the bass got too heavy for what my headphones could handle so I had to adjust the EQ a bit on some songs but treble is awesome on my headphones so everything else was amazing. I’ll have to test it on other headphones I have. Overall definitely worth trying and definitely worth a one time purchase of $4.99. I got it on sale for $2.99 on Black Friday. Even better! You will never want to go back to 2D music after using this.
Quit asking to “restore” after every update!!

Great app! But it mis alphabetizes all of my Music Libray. All music groups who’s name starts with “The” are all lumped together under, THE, under the t’s, (ex. The beatles, the cure, the rolling stones, the B52’s, etc...) as opposed to where they should be alphabetized. ALSO, EVERY TIME I JUMP BACK INTO MY LIBRARY FROM WHERE I AM (when in “Album” view, not in “Songs” view)IT DOESN’T TAKE ME BACK TO WHERE I JUST WAS, BUT INSTEAD, IT TAKES ME BACK TO THE VERY TOPMOST OF MY WHOLE MUSIC LIBRARY, BACK TO THE A’s...and this sometimes frustrates me so much, that the time killing of it forces me to switch to another music app, (as there isn’t the little “alphabetical sidebar”, as in “songs” view, that allows you to tap on the starting letter of the musical group, a,b,c, etc., to get you there quicker). Other than that, this is a pretty decent app, and has great sound possibilities and customization, and I use it now quite often, but not as much as my favorite music app, which is the FANTASTIC, EQ10...also, the squeezing of album art is another issue, but overall, its not that important...keep up the awesome work!
People keep complaining...
by Darklon on 2018/03/16 17:34
...about "problems" with this app. But the issues I keep seeing them complaining about CANNOT be fixed by the developers! Listen up!!! APPLE controls access to files with DRM, not the developers. I love this app, and I'll admit there are problems. For example, I'd love it if I could set Boom as the default player for music. But it's Apple's ball park so I doubt that will **ever** change. Technically, I guess it's Apple's ball park, bats, **and** balls. 😉 At any rate, before you go off half-cocked and make a complaint, make certain you've got your facts straight. For example, if the program is crashing a lot, but you don't see a lot of reports about crashing from other people, it's probably an issue with YOUR device. Additionally, devs usually fix crashing issues pretty quickly if they effect a number of people. To fix a problem like a crash, they have to be able to track down a problem. I'm running Boom on three iOS devices, almost daily, and it's never crashed on any of my devices. I personally give this app two thumbs up, five stars (GOLD stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) and I highly recommend it because it makes all my non-DRM music sound so much better! I barely ever use the Apple music player at all. I even use Boom when I'm listening in my car, and it makes my music sound richer and more full, even over my stock car speakers.
Why so complicated?
by gregfahey on 2017/06/20 14:59
I've tried this several times. It's a royal PIA that practically every song is unplayable on this app. iPhone 7 here. Over 125GB of downloaded Apple music. Nope. Can't play them. So, I finally figure out how to add the 1750 songs I've purchased through iTunes over the years. First, you have to manually add every song. Can't add the purchased music playlist. That would be too easy! So I add about 100 of them to a new playlist on Boom. Even though I've bought the songs, I can only play about 30% of them. Keep getting the "DRM" warning and that I have to download them....which I did. All 1750 songs. I've tried about every EQ type app. None function the way they should. You'd think by now that this might be do-able. But no. I suppose if you want to make a tiny playlist to play your 10 songs you've purchased, downloaded on your phone and have maybe 4 of them play then this is your app. I'm done trying to find something that'll just let me tweak my sound on a $1000 device. Apparently this is akin to finding a cure for diabetes.
Almost Perfect
by VoltPlayer on 2018/01/25 19:12
I just purchased the Boom for my iPhone and so far I love it with one huge exception. I obviously use this app in place on the default iPhone music player, so that I can take advantage of the EQ functionality. So, I get into my car, fire up Boom and start listening to music and everything is fine.. I can control the music (next/previous, volume up/down using the controls on my steering wheel) just like I can using the standard iPhone music app. However, occasionally boom will reach a song in my playlist that it claims cannot be EQ'd due to DRM (which is fine), so it plays the song anyway (just without any EQ functionality) - the problem is, whenever that happens, I lose all control to the app, meaning I have no way to control it anymore from my steering wheel buttons. This requires me to kill the app, and restart it, and everything is fine again. So, this is a really annoying bug, and I hope you can fix it soon!
Great.... but:
by TravisAK on 2019/04/11 06:13
This is a great app.
Boom 3D with Oontz Angle 3XL Ultra
by roblingelbach on 2018/09/21 19:55
Boom 3D with effects is indispensable to me. I use it on the laptop with movies and music: classical, jazz, blues, rock, folk (I’m a musician). Now the other items you must have: the Oontz speakers (2 for stereo) at a reasonable price and with sound quality unbelievable. And all portable in a small backpack. I use boom 3D on two iPhones and have the original small Oontz angle for ultra portability when needed. But boom 3D with the Oontz Angle 3XL Ultra (2 for stereo) is an extraordinary sound combination. I’ve owned the best analog systems (lost in an unfortunate financial travail) including Magneplanar ribbon speakers, Bryston 1000w amp, custom turntable, Etc. and what I gain now is portability and economy, along with Boom 3D’s extraordinary flexibility. Can’t wait to load my new 256 GB iPhone X with a plethora of music, organized into Boom 3D playlists :). —rob, a certified happy Boomer
Better than a hardware equalizer
by PureRainX on 2019/01/09 05:39
Problem: you have to copy playlists to Dropbox, it plays, but can't work with Apple's DRM. Until Apple changes its policy or Sherlocks (copies) this program, this is the best audio program I've used. I bought a portable headphone amp (FiiO E11K) but in my pretty good cans, it offered nothing added over my iPhone. This Boom for IOS really makes a huge difference. I've had this app long enough to see a few upgrades, and it's always getting better. I don't listen to this all the time, but when I want to hear my favorite music, it sounds so much dialed in. And now I have presets for my different headphones and earpods. They all sound significantly better! Totally worth whatever it costs compared to a bulky, rechargeable expensive separate device.
So buggy and no real shuffle
by Plucky Albatross on 2018/04/08 19:06
I’ve been using Boom on my desktop for years and love it, but there are so many problems with the iOS iteration. First of all the interface is incredibly clunky not easy to navigate at all. I’ll hear a song and want to see the artist or album and I have to press like 12 extra buttons and scroll to do so. The shuffle is not a true shuffle because the 2nd song is always the very first alphabetical song in my library. And then it plays things in order even when it’s on shuffle. Almost all of my songs are songs are Apple purchases (meaning Boom effects can’t be applied) but they only recognize a random few as such. It freezes constantly and the main play screen with the circular artwork is so ugly. Just show me the entire square artwork. When it works, the sound adjustment is amazing but the interface is so so so clunky and there are 3 many bugs with this app. Can somebody please recommend a comparable replacement that actually works?

Living with music every day of your life, you quickly pick-up the nuances of of sound - the highs, lows and mid-ranges - each have several ranges within themselves and it can be irritating when something is wrong. I discovered BOOM just after it first came out, and while it wasn’t perfect, it was close. The developers are obviously audio freaks as there have been several modifications since the original and each step gets them closer to the wholly grail of perfection. My first bit of advice is delete everything else you use and get this app. Second, listen wearing high-end, over the ear headsets. (I’m wearing Sennheiser’s HD 660 S as I type this.)
You get what you pay for.
by SAtheElder on 2018/05/12 02:10
I read the description and understood what this app does and doesn’t do. I tried it out for 5 free days (thank you Boom) and was very happy to pay the meager price asked to continue listening to my purchased music with all the sounds I’d forgotten since ditching my DiscMan CD player a thousand years ago. This App will make your purchased music sound so awesome you’ll remember why it’s worth paying for it. Your ears will thank you, your favorite artists will thank you, and you will sleep well knowing you’re a good person who is keeping new music alive by participating actively with your heroes (because you buy their art) and your Momma always said nothing good is free.
100% Recommend
by whereboysfeartotread on 2018/04/05 04:05
Boom makes the music-listening experience immensely more enjoyable. I first purchased Boom on my computer and was eager to get it on my phone when I realized there was a mobile app. Boom's effect on music is superior when compared to the Apple music app; I can't stress this enough. In addition to the EQ features, I use the cross-fading feature as well, and can't get enough of it. I highly recommend this app to anyone who loves music and wants to elevate their listening experience even more. My only recommendation would to make the queue more editable; like being able to add single songs into the queue at any given time, similar to Apple's queuing features.
Needs improvement
by sachiko koshimizu on 2017/08/13 08:16
I like the app but the one thing that I'm a little disappointed about is it doesn't count the number of plays for a song (on the built in iPhone music app, each time a song is finished, the counter adds one to the number of plays. It adds however many plays for a song to iTunes since the last time you synced your phone with your computer.) I personally like to keep track of my progress, so if it wasn't for that I would still use this app for listening to music. Also, the visualizer during when a song is played is kinda slow and doesn't look as smooth as I hoped for. I'm not an expert programmer or anything but these sound pretty easy to fix. Once it is then I'll definitely give this 4 to 5 stars as well as use this app more often.
Monthly sub, really?
by random_geek on 2018/11/01 00:13
I’ve enjoyed both Boom 2 and Boom3D on my Mac for many years. It’s one of my indispensable apps that I simply can’t live without. If the iOS version is anything like the Mac app I’m sure it’s excellent quality. But there is simply no way I’m paying monthly for it. If you want to charge me $20 for the iOS version even though that’s far and away higher than most any other utility app costs, sure I’ll pay it. Why? Because Boom is that good. But every year, into infinity? I really don’t think so. I’m so tired of subscriptions and micro-transactions milking every last dime out of loyal customers. The only recourse we have is to speak with our wallet. So no, I’m sorry. Charge a flat rate, charge for upgrades, charge for features we want, yes, all of that. But don’t charge just for the “privilege” of having the app function the way it was intended. Disappointed.
Buy the App

Perfect for those with high-end headphones. I can experience the full capabilities of my iphone linked B&W headphones. Boom 3 on my mac is another level. I suggest purchasing the boom product for each device. The app even upgrades the Bose sound system configured in my Escalade. I use Sonos for in-home audio. So, I’m not sure the effect on BT Home speakers. If you have better speakers, then probably none. My only complaint is that you should be able to max out all app setting and volume, while using the auto equalizer, and receive with no distortion. Full bass for 3d is impossible to play for almost any song at 75% or above volume.
Great Audio, Ugly App
by Nallen280 on 2018/09/25 00:18
The audio effects are GREAT. Seriously. They make all audio sound amazing. I have two issues with the app though. The first is the design. It’s ugly and it’s cumbersome. Swiping up and down, left and right, buttons are in the wrong spot up in the notch, or they’re just not responsive. PLEASE update the app to be more modern. It will be a million times better if the design is refreshed to be like a more traditional music player, such as Apple’s stock app. The second issue is that the equalizer requires a subscription. In my opinion, that’s really ugly. I bought Boom 2 for my Macs, and it works great. I’d gladly pay $15 or even $20 for this equalizer and an amazing design. It’d be absolutely worth it. So PLEASE, update the app and take it back to a one time purchase! Thanks!

Frankly i have tried many audio enhancers and wast a lot of dollars 💵 and i did not get satisfied. And i said ok lets try that 💥 Boom because i really need to listen to a super sound in my music and i got it . I tried in many hip hop songs and it impressed me by the quality and the clear improvement in my audio . That is why i said Buy it You gonna love ❤️ it it worth it and more value than any other expensive stuff .. thanks for the people who bring this app to life And thanks every body letting me share my experience with every one looking for a better sound . Have a good 😊 one ..
Misleading.
by e.xman on 2017/07/23 16:18
I tried this app and listened to a few of my songs from within the app and at 1st was very impressed at the sound quality when the effect is enabled. Within the app you can turn the effect on and off and the quality of all tracks was much improved with the effect on. But, I soon realized what was happening. My music sounds flat when listening from within the app with the effect disabled. But if I listen to the same track on my built in player on my iPhone the track sounds great without the app. So from what I can tell turning the effect switch off within the app intentionally degrades the sound quality of my track in effort to make the effect impressive. The switch does not compare the effect with the sound of my built in audio. Very misleading. I will not be keeping this app.
Holy yes amazing.
by xKagu on 2018/08/08 20:27
Upon hearing about the Mac version and using it I wanted to see if this would hold up just as well. One song in and I already can tell this is going to be so worth it. It gives the songs so much more feeling to them. And while I may not be an audiophile, hearing "more" of the song makes it an awesome addition to my library of apps. Also, to all the complainers, you really can't fix something you have no control over, especially when it comes to Apple products. You can't make Apple change something. So you're stuck with their rules, like it or not.
So worth it!!!

After being thoroughly unimpressed by the sound quality of the iPhone EQ I went on a quest to find a solution to the bad sound quality. Well, I found it with the BOOM app!!! Super easy interface and full access to my songs made set up a breeze. Then comes the amazing sound. Wow! What a difference this app makes. All of the music sounds so much fuller. I actually thought there was something wrong with my Bose headphones when I first listened with the iPhone EQ. Then I downloaded the boom app and experienced the full potential of my headphones! Thanks BOOM!!! Such an incredible deal for $1.99!!!
Love the app but it has a few bugs
by deZigner on 2017/12/10 08:32
Surround sound boost sounds fantastic when you can get the app to play the song. Seems to be a big bug in that it classifies some music as playing from the cloud (so no effects) when it is in reality downloaded to your device. On my own device there are several songs that I know are downloaded but show as from the cloud or Apple Music within the Boom app. Sometimes the app will stop playing all downloaded music entirely and will only play the music it thinks is from the cloud or Apple Music. I had to delete the app and reinstall it for it to play the other songs again. App would be a five star app if they could fix those problems.
Awesome, but...
by hisdudeness85 on 2017/09/24 17:14
This is a really good music app. I like having the option of different presets for different genres of music. I also like the ability to change your headphone style, be it in ear or over ear. The one option, though, that would give this app 5 stars instead of 4: an option for car speakers. I use this app in my car way more than I do with headphones, so, that addition would be much appreciated by me. Also, there’s something strange bug that doesn’t show the artist in the car display when it’s hooked up to the vehicle. Not a huge problem, but, it’s something that would be nice to fix.
Whoa!!!
by Gideon12676 on 2017/12/12 05:38
This app is amazing I can’t believe the difference in my music. Without this app it sounds like you are outside of the concert and when you turn on the 3D it’s like you open the door and walk inside. It is a night and day difference I will never use iTunes to listen to music again. Wish I would have found this app years ago well worth the money. I didn’t even wait the 5 days of the trial as soon as I turned on the effects I said I’m buying this app. Get this app you will not be disappointed. I would give it ten stars if I could!
Exceptional
by ExiledCreation7 on 2019/01/11 05:43
Easy to use and a wide variety of selections to make your music sound superb. Downloaded to use for my small Bluetooth speaker and it makes the sound much louder but also keeps it crisp and clear and not muffled or scratchy by exceeding the standard speaker volume. You will spend a lot of time playing with it’s endless variety of choices making a standard music experience something much more. Not much of a reviewer but I highly recommend this app as it certainly deserves 4 - 5 stars easily. Give it a try and I’m sure you will agree.
By far the best sounding enhancement app.
by Pawpawdoug on 2018/12/11 07:37
I have down loaded so many free and purchased even more music enhancement apps ever since I purchased the 4s. I have Bose over ear headphones and no other app has come close to the rich sound & deep bass this app puts out also really easy to use. Keep up the good work and if it is possible to improve it I can't wait. I have deleted all other apps I had, but there is one thing that would really be appreciated since you have been able to make it work with Google drive why not make it work with Google play?

Sounds amazing, but not for Apple Music
by nickobey9593 on 2018/04/22 20:32
The quality of the music is noticeably superior to listening through the regular music app. Effects are just as good as the Boom 3D Mac app, though you need an in-app purchase to use the 3D effects after a trial period. Sounds best on headsets like Beats, but still works really well with AirPods. Only problem is that you can’t use any of the quality enhancing features like 3D if the song is from Apple Music because they have DRM protection (so you might have to run them through a converter on your mac) but songs purchased from the iTunes Store are fully compatible.
Partially supports lossless / .flac
by sangyeij on 2018/06/23 01:55
I'm a long-time fan of Boom for Mac, and tried this out a while back. Cool, I thought, but at the time I was pretty wedded to Apple Music so it wasn't useful to me. Since then I've been getting more into lossless 24bit music, which is usually in .flac format. On a lark, I tried importing a .flac track to Boom tonight, and to my great surprise it worked. Why don't you advertise this feature?? Edit- just noticed it doesn't allow importing .flac from cloud services. Why only the partial support? By fixing that and allowing iTunes file import, you could easily care to the hi-fi market.
No good 👎🏻
Could be great
by Coachst on 2018/01/12 20:58
Downloaded the trial a bit ago. If you are using a small speaker (think Alexa) you can realllly enhance the sound to the speaker’s best ability. By far the best app I’ve used. Except...I have about 20 gigs of Apple Music downloaded and some I added to library and some not or whatever causes the DRM Protected error. Only 1 in, being liberal, 20 songs are able to use the apps Effects. It’s on the developers backs to fix this issue which I’m sure everyone is scared off by. I’m not going to reorganize my library and downloads to work with the app- it needs to work with what I have. I’ll gladly change my review and buy the package if this happens—it’s definitely worthy of 5 stars.
Best of the EQ/music player/audio enhancers
by DenizenGroove on 2018/06/29 15:16
I’ve been using Boom and Boom 2 for a long time now. I spend a lot of time mixing and producing music and have a pretty high bar set for expectations when it comes to adding fidelity to compressed MP3 files. There have been some decent apps for helping improve the sound quality of MP3 files but nothing really comes close to Boom. Occasionally some tracks hit a bit too hard but rolling off the Boom effect cleans it up nicely. Amazing improvement to all my audio files!
Good product!

But, don’t expect much in the way of customer “service”. Waited a week only to be told the 5 license family pack does not include IOS devices, only Macs. Who has 5 macs? This was misleading in my opinion at the time of purchase at their store. Update: As I mentioned, my purchase was not made at Apples’ stores, but at your store on your website. Your response seems contradictory; however, the “Family Pack” at your store mentions the product can be used on 5 devices (obviously using the same email address), which is not the case. A simple update in the verbiage at your store would clarify this for future purchasers. I do not have buyers remorse and enjoy the product, but your company must be more forthright when selling bundled licenses, I.e., licenses for 5 Macs (unclear, useable for very, very few people since, as I said before, households with 5 Macs are extremely, extremely rare). “Valid for use on 5 Macs/users/accounts” seems to indicate the license would also work at the user/account level as well, not just on 5 Macs. ESL I guess.
Avoid buying this app until bug are fixed
by A1CRAG on 2018/09/04 15:35
Version 1.3.2 is the introduction of “subscription” so unless you want to keep paying a montly “fee to use app” and in my case that even when i purchased this app a year before or so, this developer keep restricting the app and forcing you to “restore the app” every 5 minutes which is very annoying which also you will need to constantly contact their server(will eat your phone data plan), even when developer promise is that if we purchase the app BEFORE version 1.3.2 (which i did long ago) app “will still work for you music stored in your phone” which i have no problems with since i dont use or care about streaming services but app keep restricting EVERYTHING
Very satisfied

I got this app a while ago after having been impressed with the boom app for Mac OS. While the audio gains for the mobile app aren’t as impressive as for the Mac OS, they are noticeable and welcome. The other reason for high marks is the degree to which the app has improved over time. Not necessarily in terms of its audio enhancing capabilities, but certainly in terms of its usability and feature set. This is not one of those apps that gets released and then is largely ignored by its developers. It’s shown steady improvement over time.
This app is great...but it needs some changes
by egkim904 on 2017/11/20 05:08
I use this app everyday, it's great and not only boosts the bass of your music, but allows you to import music files from other apps that allow you to download videos and audio files from the web. This comes in handy when there's a song you want to listen to on the go but it's not on iTunes. Now, I've said all positive things so far, but there's somethings that need to be changed. A majority of my music, now, is on Apple Music. Boom would give me a DRM protection warning before allowing me to play the DRM protected song, just not with effects. I was perfectly fine with that, until I wasn’t. In a recent update, I found I was no longer able to play the DRM protected songs, even without effects. Do you think you could fix this?? Because I’m tired of jumping back and forth between noon and iTunes because I can’t access my Apple Music library. Thank you :)
Feedback & Suggestion
by Dragons952 on 2018/05/14 06:42
The equalizer is fantastic, and it is better than playing music from stock iOS app. One of the things I don't like is the bad navigation through the albums category with the large album artwork view. In the past, the album category looked similar to the songs category; with the small artwork on the left, and album name next to it. That was a great user interface, as you're able to see more album's on the screen; plus there was a A-Z slider on the side to quickly navigate to an album. Having a large artwork of a album taking up too much of the screen not only decreases the amount of albums you can view on the screen, but also the removal of the A-Z slider, but there is also the wait time for the large album artwork to render, which overall makes the browsing experience seem slower. Please consider having a smaller album artwork view, with the addition of the A-Z navigation that the stock iOS application has.
Please read developers!!!

I love the app! Honestly it’s how music is supposed to be listened to. And exceeded all expectations! But there is one thing I would like fixed, I have one album in particular where this is a noticeable problem! And that is Quadrophenia, since most of the songs are meant to bleed into each other, the pause in between songs seems to almost ruin the atmosphere, now I am a music freak, and I’m being very nit picky, I know, but if you could possibly eliminate the pause, this would easily be one of the best music apps I’ve ever used!
Best app that you never knew about until now
by Steven4578 on 2018/03/16 06:45
I love this app! I can actually hear the minuscule things in songs like the sound of the guitarist’s pick striking each note and the symbols are so much more clear from the drums. This app is like plugging into a home theater system and cranking your music. My only complaint is the way it organizes my music library and some of the controls. Overall I give this app 5 stars for the ability to control the eq and the ambience of the reverb it adds.
This is NOT a free app
by Hectoriu$ on 2018/10/09 15:10
It has a “trial period,” which will run out and not let you even have manual control of the equalizer. I understand if you want to sell me presets or effects, but the whole app becomes useless if you don’t pay. Furthermore, it’s a recurring fee you have to pay? WORST “free” app I’ve ever seen. To top it off, it doesn’t even work that great. In the time I had to test it, I had to drastically change the levels on frequencies to notice a change. I might have kept this app if it really did have a free version and didn’t employ deceitful practices. I would probably have even purchased some sound effects like the 3D surround sound. It’s too bad, you could’ve had me as a customer.
This app has a nice start
by Neox sonic on 2018/08/09 03:08
This app is pretty good with its great range of EQs 3D sound and look giving music a huge facelift when compared to the basic music app It does however have a few hiccups, the circular music player is not very fun to use and I would like for there to be an option to use a classic music player like what tuneshell uses . There is also the fact that the app crashes a little more then it should. Lastly I would love to see this app have two features music pitch setting and music speed settings . I usually like to have a little fun with my music and change the pitch or speed of certain songs but I usually have to go to another app, it would be really great to have this all in one app rather then having to switch between two apps If these things can be done then this truly would become the ultimate music app for me
Songs will not shuffle in a Playlist
by Bonnieh88 on 2018/10/14 05:10
This is my favorite app to listen to music at night with my headphones on. I don't know what happened but after I did an update. I can no longer listen to the Playlist I created and have the music shuffle to the next song! I have to manually start it! Anyone know a fix for this I have tried everything from a red install to creating a new Playlist. Please get this fixed Boon..Ty
Perfect but there’s 1 thing
by Official Money on 2017/12/11 03:05
I paid the 3 dollars for the upgrade, definitely worth it if you love the sound quality. This app is perfect, but it crashes wayyy too much. I don’t know why, maybe it’s just me. I figured that turning off the visualizer really helps with the crashing, but still happen at least 2 times a day. This app is my go to, I just wished the crashing would go away🙁 other than that, it’s great, buy it!!🔥
Bose QC 35 and IPhone 7
by Piccalocb on 2017/06/03 20:30
I just purchased a Bose QC35 and was astounded by the sound until I decided to DL, now buy this app. What a HUGE difference! It just made my Bose worth every penny and then some! I can really put this headphone to the test and it passes with flying colors in almost any setting! I can really feel the bass now (even though it's not made for bass) it actually is. I almost decided to return these for a headphones for more bass and a louder one! No need to now..
Great!
by Ben-jam1n on 2017/05/28 18:23
Audio exciter by aphex was great at first and then they didn't keep up on it and it turned into complete and utter crash junk! Boom however has taken my music enjoyment to the max with excellent enhancement features and seamless access to my music! It doesn't ever crash on me and they keep up on it. Just got an update for some bug fixes that I never ran into in the first place lol. Great sound in my car and headphones with great price! Well worth it!

Found atechnical restriction and I didn't even use the app for 30 minutes
by starlightpiano2013 on 2017/06/28 12:38
As a musician, one with think to get this app so they couldn't joy great sound quality and amazing articulations with instruments, but there is one problem that might stick out. It's not accessible to all users. For those of us who are blind or visually impaired, since the interface didn't work with voiceover at all. I had to turn off voiceover in order to get the app to work, and I ended up pushing a bunch of random buttons because of this. Please fix this issue so all music lovers can enjoy high-quality content. Thank you so much, and I hope you have a great day.

You know what stinks? When an app maker (any app, really) posts their app without telling you up front that it’s not free, making you waste your time and data installing it and running it. Only then, after trying it for a minute or two, do they tell you that it will cost $11.99 per month to use it. You know, like this BOOM app. Don’t waste your time.

by egostool on 2019/05/08 08:44

Doesnt work with Spotify premium!

Nigeria

Must have

Enhances music, but...

The soundstage is the first feature that pops out. Been exploring all the features, getting closer & closer to the ideal sound. Yeah I know it doesn't exist, but Boom has all the tools to tweak my sound for hours in search. Love it

5 Stars for 3-D Alone

Cheers!

No good 👎🏻

Thank you Global Delight for breathing new life into my audio library with this awesome app!

by SamBaquet on 2019/02/23 22:07
I’ve been enjoying Boom2 since it came out I think, yet I have not been able to use Boom2 while either streaming songs on YouTube Red nor listening to songs I have downloaded on YouTube Red.

Perfect for amplifying
by IAMME4L on 2019/02/09 19:32
Bought some Bose Sound Sport Free true wireless and they sounded super crisp. Other than that it works well for my use.

by AlmostNotDumb on 2017/11/24 20:15
I’m familiar with virtual surround sound with gaming and I think it works great for what it is.
Quit asking to “restore” after every update!!
by chegaro on 2018/12/03 23:02

Thanks!
buy it 😘Best of the best

Perfect for amplifying
by IAMME4L on 2019/02/09 19:32
Bought some Bose Sound Sport Free true wireless and they sounded super crisp.
No good 👎🏻
Could be great
by Coachst on 2018/01/12 20:58
Downloaded the trial a bit ago.
Good product!
by Stu Q. on 2018/04/19 16:06
But, don’t expect much in the way of customer “service”.
Very satisfied
by Twist-Erase on 2018/08/28 20:08
I got this app a while ago after having been impressed with the boom app for Mac OS.

Don’t Waste Your Time With Others!
