It’s ok…
by Loveagent9 on 2021/03/04 09:08
You need to do better with file music. Why is it that the music that I have on file just gets put in some uncategorized unknown artist file? I don’t have that problem with VOX, I would erase VOX if Boom did better. But I still have VOX.
We want it for YouTube as well!
by Salmo23Ale on 2021/02/23 17:15
Is this app may be upgraded to equalize YouTube and YouTube Music would be awesome!!! Please upgrade it.
Boost Not As Good As I Had Hoped
by jandl817 on 2021/02/21 02:14
Quick take: The app does boost sound quality and allows for customization. Caveat: It does not boost the overall quality of the sound as much as I initially believed. In order to allow Boom to process sound (music), the user has to link a supported music services to Boom. The music service--such as Spotify--is then played from within the Boom app. The user can "test" the improved sound by toggling Boom on/off. I was impressed. However, I became curious about the sound quality difference in comparison to the standalone Spotify app. What did I notice? The quality/clarity of the default sound from within the Spotify app was better than the default sound for Spotify from within the Boom app. The output from Spotify from within Boom (with the toggle off) seemed degraded from the Spotify app. In short, when I compared the unprocessed sound to the processed sound FROM WITHIN Boom, the results were impressive BUT not as impressive when comparing the sound output of the standalone Spotify app. Does Boom overall produce better sound and allow for customization? Yes. But I'm not sure the improvement is enough to jusify the cost. Still undecided.
Some inconsistencies in streaming access
by Christ Crusader on 2021/02/16 11:12
Great app but I can't seem to get it to communicate consistently with Spotify. The app is inconsistent across platforms. I have it on iOS, ChromeOs and Android and the app interface and functions are different on each. The Spotify issue is a deal breaker for me although I have bought the permanent license already.
Remove apple music option
by enqya on 2021/02/16 03:05
Good app so far but why would you make apple music an option if you can't even use what the app is supposed to do on it, useless option
Awesome!
by LostDog_Ky on 2021/02/12 21:04
Have had the app since summer 2020 and love it!! Wish Boom would let you gift the app like so many others. Wanted to gift it to a friend or two I like it so much but can't. Would be a good way to enhance customer base if you could.
Boost my beats please
by wpqthree on 2021/02/12 02:47
I bought the Powerbeats Pros and they aren’t loud enough for me. I searched on line for awhile and found no solution. I lucked out and found this app and now I don’t want to return my beats anymore. The app works well with Spotify and it totally gives me the loudness I was searching for.

by Aliencat44 on 2021/02/08 05:31
It’s definitely makes it louder but certain songs don’t sound good
Good overall, with a few shortcomings
by JoePR31 on 2021/02/07 14:01
The app is packed full of features and functions. The problem is that some of those features don't work as well as they should. For me, their are 2 major problems. The 1st one is that the equalizer doesn't let you make changes below 40 Hz or above 12,000 Hz. Depending on the headphone, this can be the difference between finding my perfect sound, and not being able to make it sound natural at all. My second and bigger issue is with the lack of sorting options for Tidal. The app only sorts the favorite albums list by album name. I have over 500 albums on that list, and I don't always remember all of their names. It would be much more useful if we had the option to sort the albums by artist name. Being that Tidal is how I listen to music 99% of the time, this issue may keep me from renewing my subscription to Boom.
not functional

app freezes every time its opened
Brings out the REAL sound of music
by ricksege on 2021/02/06 23:19
Boom makes your music sound full and enhances all the little nuances of the music that I love to hear. You don’t realize how much you’re missing until you hear it with Boom.
Playlist songs out of order
by ukfdesm6256 on 2021/02/06 22:16
The app takes all playlist songs and reorganizes them for no reason. Makes it impossible to find the song you want.
iPod Support fix.
by rrc27 on 2021/02/05 00:52
I love this app! A few suggestions I would make are for a “Sound Check” feature and a fix for the iPod touch. The “Boom” settings get cut off because of the size of the screen and I can’t turn on/off “Boom” very easily. I also can’t turn on the album art moving circle thingy anymore or tap the “...” above the scroll bar because it’s all squeezing together. Other than those needed fixes, it’s awesome!
No support for Apple Music
by VaBullsFan on 2021/02/04 04:18
If you can’t use the promised features with Apple Music DONT HAVE APPLE MUSIC AS AN OPTION!!!!!!!
PLEASE ADD GAPLESS PLAYBACK
by SuperBlaq on 2021/02/03 23:38
PLEASE ADD GAPLESS PLAYBACK 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 When listening to albums that have tracks that blend from one to another, there are cuts and skips because there's no gapless playback. Please add gapless playback!🙏
Disappointed
by RoboKiller Lova on 2021/02/03 02:56
Cannot do anything with Apple Music because of DRM restrictions. So for people using apple family plan etc. too many restrictions. Maybe come to some agreement with Apple Music etc, then it’s worth having this app. In app. Store.
Bass app review
by madmaxpsy on 2021/02/02 00:22
I loved in to my Spotify with this app. It doesn’t show me my likes playlist. It sounds ok but is totally pointless if I can’t access all my music plays.
5-Stars
by stormy015 on 2021/02/01 23:34
Wow.This app is one of the best equalizer and bass booster app I have ever seen and used. One amazing feature about this app is the 3D audio.Wow it’s on point .It made me feel sound in a whole new way I had never heard before. You also barely see unnecessary ads.Just a few bugs as a minus for the app.I would recommend this app for anyone who would like to have a whole new feeling to music.Thank You
More like 2.5 Stars
by c_onnor on 2021/01/31 20:49
I use Boom exclusively to play music through Spotify, and this has been my experience: - Awesome EQ - Other sound features are good, not amazing - EQ presets are basically the entire reason I use Boom - It would be nice to be able to save a single preset that covers all audio settings, not just EQ - I do love the music visualizer option for around the album art. Very cool - Abysmal user experience otherwise. Everything seems to load more slowly — oftentimes songs just don’t play; Artist pages only feature the top ten songs — no discography; the “Fans of” section at the bottom of the home page only includes Artists I hate, for some reason; if I listen to one album frequently, the “Recommendations” section just lists every song on that album; the search page lists Tracks first and then Playlists then Albums THEN Artists. Makes very little sense to me. Each section also only shows two choices unless scrolled on. Just seems less intuitive than what’s already the case on the Spotify app. - Changes I’d make just based on preference: it’d be nice if the app opened to the Spotify tab optionally, instead of my empty music library; the “Charts,” “New Releases,” and “Editor’s Picks” sections are not useful to me since I don’t listen to any of that music, and I imagine that’s the case for many people - I’m sure this would be a nightmare to design, but it would really take this app to the next level if it could automatically change presets based on listening device. I regularly switch between a BT speaker, BT headphones, regular headphones, built-in phone speaker and yet another pair of BT headphones, and the idea of easily switching between them makes me want to open my wallet. Just to be clear: I really love y’all, but if a comparable app with a better user interface rears its head, I won’t really hesitate to switch.
Will not play iTunes.
by DW Mike on 2021/01/31 17:57
The best EQ I’ve tried in the App Store. I don’t boost I subtract like I do mixing. Much cleaner/punchier bass , actually can be turned louder and not puss little speakers to the rattle point. I wish there was something actually on Apples App Store that was for Apple Music players.
Best sounding Music app.
by KEITLEON on 2021/01/30 05:11
Works perfectly with Spotify. Doesn’t work with YouTube music or Apple Music. Makes any sound system sound better not just headphones.
Love them
by panchopantera087 on 2021/01/29 15:54
Love it that like to Spotify and makes EDC even better with my cheap $25 dallar pair earbuds (tranya T3) lol awesome thanks

Can’t enable 16 band EQ
by 09264215Zoo on 2021/01/25 19:43
For some reason I can’t enable 16 band EQ only 8 band EQ. It’s like it’s missing from the Boom music app itself.
Great idea but inconsistent app behavior
by Lrey888 on 2021/01/23 17:44
This app is flat out buggy on my iPhone XR. Pauses randomly, forgets my spotify, skips when i try to use airplay to my apple tv. I paid for a one year subscription but the devs havent put out a more reliable update since ive purchased. Why should I recommend?
Spotify sounds better - Missing iCloud File Folder Access
by Egyptian Musk on 2021/01/20 11:36
The EQ makes Spotify sounds better. You can add Mp3s from Google Drive but you can't add mp3s from iCloud Files Folder from the app. I'd give this 5 stars if it could. Support should reach out to me if they want a better review.

Good, however google music support?
by superreviews101466 on 2021/01/16 08:19
Clean app, nice visuals, works, and doesn’t make you pay. At first it seems great, however once I logged in I realized that there’s no open for YouTube, google music, where I keep my music. So please add support for YouTube, google music!
Such a waste
by Dtx_Reyes on 2021/01/16 01:29
Basically first of all I have a iPhone SE the new one and the application keeps on crashing second of all I have Apple Music and no one knew before downloading you cannot add any effects to Apple Music and to even start with the effects on Spotify or tidal you need to pay monthly so it’s honestly just utter garbage thank you and have a good night
Still some bugs but great app
by BobBPennsylvania on 2021/01/13 13:49
Really love this app but some bugs, specifically the Sleep timer. No way to disable or turn off. Always defaults to 5 min - go into settings and set to zero or one hour. Next time you use the app it’s right back to 5 min.
Boom App just doesnt work for me but it works for all my friends.
by Isaac Kuzma on 2021/01/13 05:21
So I’m really hoping a developer can help me out to solve this problem. Whenever i connect my spotify and try to play music, it just skips through all my songs. the song will just play for half a second and move on to the next one and when i try to pause it, it keeps going. I have spotify premium so I have no idea what to do.
Don’t download

Hate this app it didn’t work for me at all
Unusably bad design
by MissingDigits on 2021/01/12 17:59
I’m like every other music app on the planet, you cannot view your music in the usual artist/album/songs in order. Bizarrely this app cannot do that and instead sorts alphabetically. I’ve been waiting for years for them to figure out that that is horrible to no avail, so I guess they’re never going to do it. I would love to use this application as it does work wonderfully, but it is unusable due to the horrific UI design.
Crashes

Crashes after 3 minutes for a week straight, ended my subscription this app is ran by crooks
Remise sur le prix
by ahamat10 on 2021/01/12 16:05
Bonsoir J’ai remarqué que sur l’applicable Boum sur androïde y’a une remise de 51% sur l’achat , par contre sur l’AppleStore le prix est fixe. A quand cette réduction Sur IOS?
Always Crashing
by userFML on 2021/01/06 14:35

Doesn’t integrate with iOS, what’s the point?
by Joey_A. on 2021/01/01 18:58
This app markets its core value proposition as a global (system-wide) EQ, and it sounds GREAT! However, the app does NOT even allow balancing of iTunes music at all, and any adjustments that are allowed, like through drop box or some other antiquated storage medium, forces you to use the app as your new player to apply the EQ settings to the song. So, you can’t EQ your Apple Music, and any downloaded music that you CAN EQ, has to be played through this app, and it’s own player, which froze within my first 3 minutes of use on a completely up to date, brand new device. Glad I realized it before being billed. Maybe the best consumer protection, and worst business plan for this developer, is to offer a free trial prior to purchase! Find something else.
Video Option.
by aka_Harry on 2020/12/24 01:12
It would be nice if boom was also available to use with video apps on the iPhone as well.

Adds life to Spotify
by johnferg on 2020/12/17 06:11
I stream Spotify. I’ll admit it sounds pretty flat and lifeless even compared to YouTube. Not only does this app boost the volume but adds a lot more life to the sound. Well worth the cost.
Imprescindible para tener buen sonido

Music randomly stops/skips
by Lineup Ads Martin on 2020/12/01 19:04
The app is completely useless. I can’t listen to a single song without the app skipping or randomly pausing it for no reason. The FAQ says it’s a network issue but if 500Mbps download isn’t enough then I don’t know what is
Make iPhone sound better.
by SpartanJer on 2020/11/29 16:51
For most albums boom is a great improvement to sound. I’ve found older albums can come out a bit hollow and echoey . I pay for apps I like but this seems a bit excessive. I’m not a fan of subscriptions. iPhone should just do this natively.
No Apple Music.
by gjb53 on 2020/11/26 01:13
This should be on the first line of your advertising: NO BOOM EFFECTS ON APPLE MUSIC That’s NOT system-wide, as you advertise.
Solid App
by Your Neighborhood Dogcatcher on 2020/11/24 19:54
*CORRECTION* I wrote a bad review initially, but after I updated my IPod to the latest IOS, everything is working smoothly. This app really does enhance the sound of headphones to a considerable degree. It’s almost as good as using a dragon fly red dac, which costs way more and is clumsy to carry around. Really impressed with how this app increases bass slam.
Great App, minor important issues
by rando1289a on 2020/11/23 22:24
The music listening experience is undoubtedly enhanced, which matters most — 4/5. However, there’s considerable lag at times and the music will occasionally pause or stop playing entirely. Fixing this issue, I’d give it the last Star it needs for the better rating.
Support Request: SoundCloud!
by codysls on 2020/11/23 19:38
Please add SoundCloud somehow, sorry if this has been asked 😅 Amazing app otherwise! Look forward to years of use.
Nice
by akotski1338 on 2020/11/21 21:11
I personally don’t prefer my music to be played in surround sound but if you’re into that, this app is for you. I wish there was a way to put the virtual speakers farther or closer away from you too to sound like they’re on the other side of the room instead of in my face
Great app but functionality is a little frustrating
by tarzanboy1 on 2020/11/20 20:28
Minor complaint that makes you realize how important the first second of a song is. The first .5 sec of every song chosen is skipped but not if you press the rewind button while already playing the song.

Sounds great...but...MAKE USE OF CACHE!
by ChrisBInRum on 2020/11/18 21:07
Sounds really good. Can’t deny that at all. Don’t like your 3D positioning, sounds like reverb? ONE MAJOR ISSUE WITH THIS APP! It does NOT use Spotify’s cached/downloaded songs! Boom uses All of my data about 2 and a half weeks in...every single month. Every single time you play a song it has to “re-stream” or redownload ANY song. That is not cool. I’m doing this review just because of how bad this is. I have 5gb of 4g every month. I used to have 1-2gb left over every month now with boom it’s gone a little over 2 weeks...that’s how bad this is. Even if it’s on Automatic quality within settings it still uses all my data. So unacceptable. I bought this app for a yes after about a week of using it. Bad choice. YES it sounds good. YES it is definitely a better sound experience with boom with music...it always is, that’s why I’m still using it LoL But my god...fix the data issue. Shouldn’t be to hard to implement the use of Spotify’s cache?
Awesome
by Step Wheel on 2020/11/05 02:55
Ok so I have Spotify premium and I have solo beats 3 so already music is pretty good but when I added this it made it 2 times better but what I don’t like is that there is a premium but they need to make money some how so it’s overall a really good app
This is a great app!
by Gwebbs31 on 2020/11/05 01:36
I love everything about it but I would love it if it were free to listen to Spotify on this. My family doesn’t have a lot of money and this wold make my day if you could make Spotify free. 👍
Rigged app
by RDWolfe on 2020/11/03 18:26
Works great WHEN it works. Subscription keeps falling off, support is non existent, when you contact them you immediately get a spam email telling you how wonderfully happy they are to help. End of support. Purchased thru iTunes for A YEAR. Subsequently. Keeps turning off after ten songs. A scam app that definitely needs looking into but that won’t happen. JezzUs
Love It, But...
by Lemonheads Yummy on 2020/11/03 07:55
Yo you guys need to fix the touchscreen programming or something, because the app really glitches out any and every time you load it up again. For example: I want to select a song on Spotify, but it just doesn’t read my finger touching on the screen! On top of that, I will press the Play button quite often and it won’t begin to play the song until like 10 seconds passes! Hello? I’m pressing Play! Other than that this app is perfect! The sound quality and enhancement options are like no other!
Sounds great but the app is very slow switching songs
by sho69607 on 2020/10/31 11:30
This app makes music sound great but there is a huge delay when cycling through songs on Tidal. In fact the crossfade feature is useless because of this lag. Hopefully this can be fixed in another update.
Unbeatable EXTREMELY HIGH QUALITY AUDIO!!!
by tito burrito 123 on 2020/10/30 07:38
I’ve been using this app for a while. You will really have a BOOM experience listening on your music collections “ DA BEST!!!” . It feels like your listening from BOSE, BEATS device or any other high end speaker or headphones. Great Quality sounds. If you don’t have this app, you don’t know what you’re missing. I encourage you purchase now!!!

‘iCloud Music’ Doesn’t Work
by The Authentic Reviewer on 2020/10/25 16:23
So I’m genuinely confused, this garbage excuse for an equalizer app doesn’t even play from iCloud...
Love it, but I have ideas
by FLAWLESS444 on 2020/10/21 08:43
Let’s add sound cloud support, car stereo(with subs) option, more artwork integration in the player color wise( like iOS 14), a shuffle option from the main song list, also the life time price is a bit steep. Don’t worry I’ll think of more! Keep the great work and updates coming 👍🏻

A quick review on my outlook of this app
by EliteSniperLyfe on 2020/10/15 01:15
In the past I used to use this app a lot, it has a vast variety of different EQ modes that help enhance the different genres of music. The 3D experience is by far one of the best features by far, it’s a very immersive experience. On the other hand there is one thing I really don’t like which is, the fact you have to pay for a subscription. I don’t really see why I’d have to pay to use this app after I bought it on my MacBook Pro
Good sound, awful UI
by CautiousOptmist on 2020/10/06 20:54
Please please please upgrade your user interface. If I search for an artist and click on them, please show me the catalogue organized by albums in reverse chronological order. Please don’t show all of their songs, in a huge data dump. Really frustrating.
A Song in Control Center on my iPhone doesn’t
by 삼남매아빠 on 2020/09/26 05:54
Match with the song is playing with the app. I found out this after skipping songs. Please solve this. FYI, iPhone 8+ with iOS 14.0 Update: I found out that I can’t skip or restart a song with my wireless headphones as well as wired earphones. The app just stops playing instead does things a music player supposed to be. This makes the app very glitchy. Please take a look into this.
I still get Ads
by This update, really?! on 2020/09/25 20:16
I eventually caved In and bought the required purchase to get ads taken off but yet I still get them. I love this app, but no way will I invest if I keep getting ads. Eventually they’ll want to charge you again and again
Best equalizer app
by Jay Izer on 2020/09/23 12:41
This app is the best equalizer app I have found - I don’t care for the 3D aspect and never use it - but the equalizer with pre-amp and intensity are excellent- one request - can you order everything on Spotify the way I have it there? A little hard to find stuff when I have been using Spotify for a number of years.... I do appreciate that the amp syncs settings across multiple devices!!!!
iTunes songs

Great, but....
by Gizzy2401 on 2020/09/19 03:39
It’s a great app with functional features. Would be worth a five star rating if you could buy it with a one time payment of 5-9 dollars. But a yearly subscription?? That’s simply a ripoff. Let’s see if other developers are more humble
Lol so bad
by BiII Murray on 2020/09/19 02:10
No landscape view on iPads. High cost. And mindblowingly terrible audio processing. This app is so corny, it feels 15 years out of date. Save your dwindling rent money and just use Spotify’s built EQ instead
Where is my Tidal Crossfade?
by Jay Es El on 2020/09/18 17:26
In Tidal, I have set a 12 second Crossfade. What happened to it? Not only that, the amount of time between songs, even downloaded songs, is painful. It completely breaks any mood you might be in. “Know what I’m sayin?” I have no use for this app if it can’t behave. Too much sizzle and not enough steak. Just give us a straight up 8/16 band in line graphic equalizer, please? Not that it matters to me any longer, but... Why can’t this app work off-line? Do you really need those SDK tentacles? Boom puts its hooks into my TIDAL, yet cannot pick up the Crossfade, or queue the next song correctly. Why can’t you make a simple, stripped down, no bells and whistle‘s 8/16 band EQ? Are you able to put it “in-line“ and let me continue to use my Tidal app? Yes, Boom functions. Just painfully at home least, for me and my iPhone 11 Pro.
Best Equalizer on the App store!!!
by ElectroJunkie77 on 2020/09/17 10:50
Great user interface, and awesome experience. I have learned that this app packs everything: 3 D SOUND, most the most eq presets that I have seen plus you can customize as many of your own as you want and title them. This makes it easier to toggle between them for different songs and genres of music. Only app I am aware of that works with all major subscriptions: Spotify, Tidal or Apple Music! BEST BANG for your buck with lifetime pack for $50 or $40 for a limited time. Beautiful colors within the app for dynamic view of your played music. HANDS DOWN, easily 5 STAR APP!!!
Great but 1 star
by k1ngofindi on 2020/09/12 05:36
I got this app because when I go on flights...I need the extra volume but this does not work in an offline mode...very upsetting
Won’t work with iTunes Music
by spoonyB on 2020/09/10 20:16
What the hell is the point of a music equalizer app if it doesn’t work with my music purchased from iTunes? What a SCAM!!! Don’t fall for it!
Great app
by Dominick Badial on 2020/09/10 16:34
Really nice layout plus it’s free can’t argue with that offers much than some of the apps that require a subscription to be free used and it works really well with the 3D surround sound on any headphones
Great app, easy to use. Works as stated
by Tankbot#0001 on 2020/09/08 19:42
This app has a built in amplifier, as it boosts your volume level past standard. Bass amplifier works amazing compared to all other apps, I give a 9/10 star rating if I could, unfortunately it’s limited to 5 stars. The one half rating I’m giving is because Apple Music can’t be used with this app. You’re able to sync your Apple Music account but not stream with bass boosted effects. This is due to apple’s policy, but is not stated in the app description. Besides that, everything works as it should. I am proud to have bought the $40 lifetime subscription.

Seems like a really nice one, but lets me down with every use.
by BlueApple198 on 2020/09/06 06:19
Found this with a good user rating but on iPhone 11: (1) when tap play inside this player it shoots out a burst of the musical track and fades away slower than it appeared, all lasting most portion of a second, like hitting on a brass, making short but loud and disturbing metallic sound that scares a living day out of me each time; (2) when simply switch between the music players, such as Dropbox's, it stops playing the track (not pauses). Boom's technical and interface idea, however, is positively appreciated.
Very good!

I listen to a lot of pop punk/emo bands (mcr, fob) and is HIGHLY RECCOMEND. My music because more punch and immersive. Very obvious difference. I love the app
I have had no problems with it
by goodjack90 on 2020/08/30 04:09
I have been using this app for many months now and it has worked very well. But what is weird is that it no longer lets me access my Spotify playlist from the app like it used too. It would be great if someone could look into that and get it fixed.

Makes music sound awful
by joegu on 2020/08/25 12:30
I’m using AirPods Pro and a HI-FI Tidal account and an iPhone 11 Pro Max I’m sorry but this app is not professional enough to ask for a subscription. It makes your music worst by applying the effects. The EQ is just bad quality. The 3D bass effect is God awful. Bad quality app. This app should be free with ads.

Read til the end! Now why would you pay for something that doesn’t make a difference? Honestly I’m going to pay $14.99 a year for something that sounds the same? I think not!! Had there been negative stars trust me they would have got them. Don’t even waist your time, I’ve already been there and done it for you!! Don’t forget you have other options!!! iOS iPhone 7

Stops playing when iPhone is moved.
by Oflazer on 2020/08/10 06:10
While playing local music or with Spotify, the music randomly stops, sometimes permanently, when the phone is moved. This does not happen when playing directly with the Music app or Spotify. Very annoying. When it plays, the quality is much better compared to the native apps.
Great app but it’s buggy.

Great app! But it mis alphabetizes all of my Music Libray. All music groups who’s name starts with “The” are all lumped together under, THE, under the t’s, (ex. The beatles, the cure, the rolling stones, the B52’s, etc...) as opposed to where they should be alphabetized. ALSO, EVERY TIME I JUMP BACK INTO MY LIBRARY FROM WHERE I AM (when in “Album” view, not in “Songs” view)IT DOESN’T TAKE ME BACK TO WHERE I JUST WAS, BUT INSTEAD, IT TAKES ME BACK TO THE VERY TOPMOST OF MY WHOLE MUSIC LIBRARY, BACK TO THE A’s...and this sometimes frustrates me so much, that the time killing of it forces me to switch to another music app, (as there isn’t the little “alphabetical sidebar”, as in “songs” view, that allows you to tap on the starting letter of the musical group, a,b,c, etc., to get you there quicker). Other than that, this is a pretty decent app, and has great sound possibilities and customization, and I use it now quite often, but not as much as my favorite music app, which is the FANTASTIC, EQ10...also, the squeezing of album art is another issue, but overall, its not that important...keep up the awesome work!
THE ALPHA MUSIC PLAYER!
by "HARDBODY" on 2020/01/30 22:45
I am deeply involved in music, in fact I DJ, so sound quality & programs etc I know well. With that said, I have used many music Apps trying to find the best one. Yes there are a couple of good ones I came across, but in my opinion “BOOM: Music Player” is the Alpha of them all. I purchased the Mac Desktop version about 2 years ago (also fantastic) and use their BOOM Remote for complete functionality. Last year I purchased the app for the 1 year subscription which expires in a week. I use BOOM at least 5 days a week a few hours each day (it gets a lot of play) & I personally never had issues ie, can’t ever recall it crashing, in fact after their last update I feel it is even better. I am so positive that this is the Alpha of the music player apps I said F@%k it and just purchased the Lifetime pack. If I have to nitpick there is ONLY one thing I hope they add/fix, so I hope the developer reads this, hear me and fixes it. The system in my truck (custom) has a remote so I never have to touch the radio or phone for anything BUT with BOOM I can only skip to the next track.....back from track to track. Would be outstanding if I could scroll through/ Fast forward within a track… in other words if I simply want to hear a certain spot in the track. If I want to do that I need to open the phone/app a scroll that way. NBD, still a BadA$$ APP. Oh and their customer service is on the up & up! The times I emailed I ALWAYS got a response pretty fast!
Exceeded my extremely low expectations!
by AlmostNotDumb on 2017/11/24 20:15
I’m familiar with virtual surround sound with gaming and I think it works great for what it is. Not sure how it would work with music so I came across this app which is free for like 5 days. Plenty of time to test it. I didn’t really know the difference at first. I could tell there was a difference just not sure what. So I was starting to wonder if this was a gimmick after listening to a whole album of one of my favorite bands. I then started to listen to the same album without the Boom effects or app. I couldn’t even finish the first song without wanting to go back to the Boom app effects. It definitely sounds more full and it is easier to pick up multiple sounds and voices distinctly. I am using this app with my Beats Solo 3 headphones. On some songs the bass got too heavy for what my headphones could handle so I had to adjust the EQ a bit on some songs but treble is awesome on my headphones so everything else was amazing. I’ll have to test it on other headphones I have. Overall definitely worth trying and definitely worth a one time purchase of $4.99. I got it on sale for $2.99 on Black Friday. Even better! You will never want to go back to 2D music after using this.
Why?
by gregfahey on 2020/01/07 19:59
I like the sounds available with Boom. No issue there. In fact I'd love to have this. However, this BS about who "owns" the music is infuriating. I pay Apple to stream music. I don't mind paying as musicians deserve our support. Absolutely and 100%. So I'm paying to make it all legit. Yet, there's another standard applied if I want to take off a bit of the treble on certain mixes. So basically, since I have minimal space to be able to download certain tunes locally, I'll get to use Boom on the few songs downloaded. Unacceptable. If I'm paying for the rights to listen to artists, I should be afforded the control over how I prefer the desired EQ. I pay the same price to stream it as I do to download it as well. Here it is, 2020 and apparently the man behind the curtain is shaking his head "No!" when it comes to having an EQ function on one of the most popular and technologically advanced pieces of hardware on Earth.
Best out there!
by Cybertechman on 2020/03/22 14:45
I love using Boom! It is the best out there by far with everything it does. I do have a suggestion for the suggestion box. I would love to see fast forward and rewind buttons (if there’s not already a way to do it that I’m missing) rather than having to guess where to move the slider. The buttons would be ones that let you move forward and backward about 10 or 15 seconds, and when you tap and hold the forward button, it would act as a speed up play button until you let up off of or to return to regular playback speed. This would let you be able to more easily jump to portions of a song which are closer together and speed through a portion if you want to just speed through it faster until you get to the part you want. This is just a suggestion, though, as this is still the best out there either way.
People keep complaining...
by Darklon on 2018/03/16 17:34
...about "problems" with this app. But the issues I keep seeing them complaining about CANNOT be fixed by the developers! Listen up!!! APPLE controls access to files with DRM, not the developers. I love this app, and I'll admit there are problems. For example, I'd love it if I could set Boom as the default player for music. But it's Apple's ball park so I doubt that will **ever** change. Technically, I guess it's Apple's ball park, bats, **and** balls. 😉 At any rate, before you go off half-cocked and make a complaint, make certain you've got your facts straight. For example, if the program is crashing a lot, but you don't see a lot of reports about crashing from other people, it's probably an issue with YOUR device. Additionally, devs usually fix crashing issues pretty quickly if they effect a number of people. To fix a problem like a crash, they have to be able to track down a problem. I'm running Boom on three iOS devices, almost daily, and it's never crashed on any of my devices. I personally give this app two thumbs up, five stars (GOLD stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) and I highly recommend it because it makes all my non-DRM music sound so much better! I barely ever use the Apple music player at all. I even use Boom when I'm listening in my car, and it makes my music sound richer and more full, even over my stock car speakers.
Great.... but:
by TravisAK on 2019/04/11 06:13
This is a great app. I’ve probably tried every music player in the App Store and this is by far the best. Beautiful clean interface. Easy to use and the effects do add new life to your headphones. There are a LOT of optional settings to play around with. ONE STAR OFF FOR THE YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION NONSENSE!! Just charge a one time flat fee so we can be done with it. I paid the subscription because it’s worth it and I’m gullible, but I would have happily paid a bit more for a one time fee. Update: the bass is blowing out my headphones. (A few different ones; Beats, Grado) I’ve tried turning off the bass boost and it doesn’t do much. The only fix is to turn off effects which defeats the point. Is there a way to dial down the bass a bit more without having to build a custom eq? Overall still a great player though. (Prefer the Vibrant and Flat settings. Both have same issue)
Almost Perfect
by VoltPlayer on 2018/01/25 19:12
I just purchased the Boom for my iPhone and so far I love it with one huge exception. I obviously use this app in place on the default iPhone music player, so that I can take advantage of the EQ functionality. So, I get into my car, fire up Boom and start listening to music and everything is fine.. I can control the music (next/previous, volume up/down using the controls on my steering wheel) just like I can using the standard iPhone music app. However, occasionally boom will reach a song in my playlist that it claims cannot be EQ'd due to DRM (which is fine), so it plays the song anyway (just without any EQ functionality) - the problem is, whenever that happens, I lose all control to the app, meaning I have no way to control it anymore from my steering wheel buttons. This requires me to kill the app, and restart it, and everything is fine again. So, this is a really annoying bug, and I hope you can fix it soon!
Great app but enough with the marketing
by stealthnoodle12 on 2019/03/06 17:15
I love Boom. I use it for my desktop and mobile device. Music would not be as good without it! But Boom, whoever is in charge of your push notifications, tell them to put more thought in before they hit send and stop sending so many notifications in general. I’m officially annoyed and turning them off. They are useless messages. Today I was notified with “Its half way to the weekend! Get going with Boom!”. What am I supposed to get out of that? I know it’s Wednesday...it’s literally displayed above your push notification on my lock screen. I’ve been getting messages like this almost every day. tl;dr Great job engineering team. You’ve created apps that are a must have. Marketing team (I assume), make your push notifications informative and useful for your users.
Incompatible with Apple Music.
by k0rraa on 2019/04/15 15:07
The app makes all my songs sound so much better and most importantly it increases bass without sacrificing any of the other frequencies. That being said, as mainly an Apple Music user the app is UNUSABLE because Apple protects all their music with DRM, so the developers are unable to Apply Boom effects to the songs. I understand this is a problem with Apple and not the Boom developers, but I strongly encourage them to find a workaround to this issue because it basically makes the app incompatible with Apple music users. The moment this app works with Apple Music songs and can be used offline is the moment I buy a subscription, until then I’m sticking to the default Apple Music app
So buggy and no real shuffle
by Plucky Albatross on 2018/04/08 19:06
I’ve been using Boom on my desktop for years and love it, but there are so many problems with the iOS iteration. First of all the interface is incredibly clunky not easy to navigate at all. I’ll hear a song and want to see the artist or album and I have to press like 12 extra buttons and scroll to do so. The shuffle is not a true shuffle because the 2nd song is always the very first alphabetical song in my library. And then it plays things in order even when it’s on shuffle. Almost all of my songs are songs are Apple purchases (meaning Boom effects can’t be applied) but they only recognize a random few as such. It freezes constantly and the main play screen with the circular artwork is so ugly. Just show me the entire square artwork. When it works, the sound adjustment is amazing but the interface is so so so clunky and there are 3 many bugs with this app. Can somebody please recommend a comparable replacement that actually works?
STILL IN LOVE
by Floydian4Ever on 2020/03/18 21:16
I remember when Boom was starting out and I took a chance on a relatively unknown music playing app. Fell in love at first listen, and like any relationship I griped a tiny bit when it wasn’t exactly free anymore but I just couldn’t let my Boom go so years later through few iPhones and many iOS’s, we’re still together because there’s no other music player is as intuitive to my listening needs be it headphones to AirPods thumping my bass hard as AF till it remembers to shut itself off (Sleep Timer built in YES!) so we’ll keep Boomin forever cause ITS 100% WORTH IT. To APPLE MUSIC AND PANDORA PPL QUIT HATING COMPLAIN TO THEM! It’s not Booms fault THEY don’t want u to use any other app but theirs! Thanks for the multitude improvements and for bringing visualization back! 🥰🥰🥰

Living with music every day of your life, you quickly pick-up the nuances of of sound - the highs, lows and mid-ranges - each have several ranges within themselves and it can be irritating when something is wrong. I discovered BOOM just after it first came out, and while it wasn’t perfect, it was close. The developers are obviously audio freaks as there have been several modifications since the original and each step gets them closer to the wholly grail of perfection. My first bit of advice is delete everything else you use and get this app. Second, listen wearing high-end, over the ear headsets. (I’m wearing Sennheiser’s HD 660 S as I type this.)
You get what you pay for.
by SAtheElder on 2018/05/12 02:10
I read the description and understood what this app does and doesn’t do. I tried it out for 5 free days (thank you Boom) and was very happy to pay the meager price asked to continue listening to my purchased music with all the sounds I’d forgotten since ditching my DiscMan CD player a thousand years ago. This App will make your purchased music sound so awesome you’ll remember why it’s worth paying for it. Your ears will thank you, your favorite artists will thank you, and you will sleep well knowing you’re a good person who is keeping new music alive by participating actively with your heroes (because you buy their art) and your Momma always said nothing good is free.
Buy the App

Perfect for those with high-end headphones. I can experience the full capabilities of my iphone linked B&W headphones. Boom 3 on my mac is another level. I suggest purchasing the boom product for each device. The app even upgrades the Bose sound system configured in my Escalade. I use Sonos for in-home audio. So, I’m not sure the effect on BT Home speakers. If you have better speakers, then probably none. My only complaint is that you should be able to max out all app setting and volume, while using the auto equalizer, and receive with no distortion. Full bass for 3d is impossible to play for almost any song at 75% or above volume.
100% Recommend
by whereboysfeartotread on 2018/04/05 04:05
Boom makes the music-listening experience immensely more enjoyable. I first purchased Boom on my computer and was eager to get it on my phone when I realized there was a mobile app. Boom's effect on music is superior when compared to the Apple music app; I can't stress this enough. In addition to the EQ features, I use the cross-fading feature as well, and can't get enough of it. I highly recommend this app to anyone who loves music and wants to elevate their listening experience even more. My only recommendation would to make the queue more editable; like being able to add single songs into the queue at any given time, similar to Apple's queuing features.
Monthly sub, really?
by random_geek on 2018/11/01 00:13
I’ve enjoyed both Boom 2 and Boom3D on my Mac for many years. It’s one of my indispensable apps that I simply can’t live without. If the iOS version is anything like the Mac app I’m sure it’s excellent quality. But there is simply no way I’m paying monthly for it. If you want to charge me $20 for the iOS version even though that’s far and away higher than most any other utility app costs, sure I’ll pay it. Why? Because Boom is that good. But every year, into infinity? I really don’t think so. I’m so tired of subscriptions and micro-transactions milking every last dime out of loyal customers. The only recourse we have is to speak with our wallet. So no, I’m sorry. Charge a flat rate, charge for upgrades, charge for features we want, yes, all of that. But don’t charge just for the “privilege” of having the app function the way it was intended. Disappointed.
So Disappointing!!!
by ikabroukman on 2019/09/28 06:10
I bought the boom3d MacBook software and I’m so pleased so I obviously thought this is same as on laptop like it’s dress up on my music and sound all over laptop but unfortunately the iphone version is so unfriendly. First of all there’s only dark theme and no clear white which is terrible and I’m really having problems reading so unfriendly. Secondly it does not dress on my iPhone library music but wants me to use it’s library. Instead of just adding the fabulous equalizer system to my already playlists on my default iPhone which is much more friendly for looking at and more simply. Thirdly the visualizer is so idiotic... what is this? I’m not a kid in the 80s in NY with stereo on my shoulder. Get serious...Hey... make your version user friendly and then I’ll buy it! For now it shadows the laptop version but in a bad way! Too bad.
Needs improvement
by sachiko koshimizu on 2017/08/13 08:16
I like the app but the one thing that I'm a little disappointed about is it doesn't count the number of plays for a song (on the built in iPhone music app, each time a song is finished, the counter adds one to the number of plays. It adds however many plays for a song to iTunes since the last time you synced your phone with your computer.) I personally like to keep track of my progress, so if it wasn't for that I would still use this app for listening to music. Also, the visualizer during when a song is played is kinda slow and doesn't look as smooth as I hoped for. I'm not an expert programmer or anything but these sound pretty easy to fix. Once it is then I'll definitely give this 4 to 5 stars as well as use this app more often.
Mostly great!
by Pombunni on 2020/01/06 07:32
It’s a great music player, has a great equalizer, and makes it so that importing your music is fairly convenient. But, for the love of god, please make sorting songs in your playlist easier. I’m the type of person that has to have my music sorted very specifically, and dragging a new song to the top of my playlist with a few hundred songs in it takes like half a minute. When I’ve download multiple songs and need to drag them toward the top, it can take around an hour. Please do something to fix this—maybe add a scrollbar on the left side or make the scrolling speed when moving a song faster. Other than that, it’s a great app :)
Great Audio, Ugly App
by Nallen280 on 2018/09/25 00:18
The audio effects are GREAT. Seriously. They make all audio sound amazing. I have two issues with the app though. The first is the design. It’s ugly and it’s cumbersome. Swiping up and down, left and right, buttons are in the wrong spot up in the notch, or they’re just not responsive. PLEASE update the app to be more modern. It will be a million times better if the design is refreshed to be like a more traditional music player, such as Apple’s stock app. The second issue is that the equalizer requires a subscription. In my opinion, that’s really ugly. I bought Boom 2 for my Macs, and it works great. I’d gladly pay $15 or even $20 for this equalizer and an amazing design. It’d be absolutely worth it. So PLEASE, update the app and take it back to a one time purchase! Thanks!
No artists - album - songs view instead artists - songs
by wildeSG on 2020/02/24 00:07
Like the sound. It’s not earth shattering better than other music players with EQ capability, but it gets a tiny bit more out of it when listening via Bluetooth earbuds (using mostly AirPods pro). The only issue I have is when selecting an artist, it then shows all the songs in random order instead of first showing an album view within which one can then see the songs. This is just so basic but quite annoying when you have a lot of music in the iPhone with a lot of artists and most of them with more than just 2 albums. Please fix this, it’s very basic
Awesome, but...
by hisdudeness85 on 2017/09/24 17:14
This is a really good music app. I like having the option of different presets for different genres of music. I also like the ability to change your headphone style, be it in ear or over ear. The one option, though, that would give this app 5 stars instead of 4: an option for car speakers. I use this app in my car way more than I do with headphones, so, that addition would be much appreciated by me. Also, there’s something strange bug that doesn’t show the artist in the car display when it’s hooked up to the vehicle. Not a huge problem, but, it’s something that would be nice to fix.

Frankly i have tried many audio enhancers and wast a lot of dollars 💵 and i did not get satisfied. And i said ok lets try that 💥 Boom because i really need to listen to a super sound in my music and i got it . I tried in many hip hop songs and it impressed me by the quality and the clear improvement in my audio . That is why i said Buy it You gonna love ❤️ it it worth it and more value than any other expensive stuff .. thanks for the people who bring this app to life And thanks every body letting me share my experience with every one looking for a better sound . Have a good 😊 one ..
Holy yes amazing.
by xKagu on 2018/08/08 20:27
Upon hearing about the Mac version and using it I wanted to see if this would hold up just as well. One song in and I already can tell this is going to be so worth it. It gives the songs so much more feeling to them. And while I may not be an audiophile, hearing "more" of the song makes it an awesome addition to my library of apps. Also, to all the complainers, you really can't fix something you have no control over, especially when it comes to Apple products. You can't make Apple change something. So you're stuck with their rules, like it or not.
Misleading.
by e.xman on 2017/07/23 16:18
I tried this app and listened to a few of my songs from within the app and at 1st was very impressed at the sound quality when the effect is enabled. Within the app you can turn the effect on and off and the quality of all tracks was much improved with the effect on. But, I soon realized what was happening. My music sounds flat when listening from within the app with the effect disabled. But if I listen to the same track on my built in player on my iPhone the track sounds great without the app. So from what I can tell turning the effect switch off within the app intentionally degrades the sound quality of my track in effort to make the effect impressive. The switch does not compare the effect with the sound of my built in audio. Very misleading. I will not be keeping this app.

Love the app but it has a few bugs
by deZigner on 2017/12/10 08:32
Surround sound boost sounds fantastic when you can get the app to play the song. Seems to be a big bug in that it classifies some music as playing from the cloud (so no effects) when it is in reality downloaded to your device. On my own device there are several songs that I know are downloaded but show as from the cloud or Apple Music within the Boom app. Sometimes the app will stop playing all downloaded music entirely and will only play the music it thinks is from the cloud or Apple Music. I had to delete the app and reinstall it for it to play the other songs again. App would be a five star app if they could fix those problems.
So worth it!!!

After being thoroughly unimpressed by the sound quality of the iPhone EQ I went on a quest to find a solution to the bad sound quality. Well, I found it with the BOOM app!!! Super easy interface and full access to my songs made set up a breeze. Then comes the amazing sound. Wow! What a difference this app makes. All of the music sounds so much fuller. I actually thought there was something wrong with my Bose headphones when I first listened with the iPhone EQ. Then I downloaded the boom app and experienced the full potential of my headphones! Thanks BOOM!!! Such an incredible deal for $1.99!!!
Sounds amazing, but not for Apple Music
by nick_ob95 on 2018/04/22 20:32
The quality of the music is noticeably superior to listening through the regular music app. Effects are just as good as the Boom 3D Mac app, though you need an in-app purchase to use the 3D effects after a trial period. Sounds best on headsets like Beats, but still works really well with AirPods. Only problem is that you can’t use any of the quality enhancing features like 3D if the song is from Apple Music because they have DRM protection (so you might have to run them through a converter on your mac) but songs purchased from the iTunes Store are fully compatible.
By far the best sounding enhancement app.
by Pawpawdoug on 2018/12/11 07:37
I have down loaded so many free and purchased even more music enhancement apps ever since I purchased the 4s. I have Bose over ear headphones and no other app has come close to the rich sound & deep bass this app puts out also really easy to use. Keep up the good work and if it is possible to improve it I can't wait. I have deleted all other apps I had, but there is one thing that would really be appreciated since you have been able to make it work with Google drive why not make it work with Google play?
Whoa!!!
by Gideon12676 on 2017/12/12 05:38
This app is amazing I can’t believe the difference in my music. Without this app it sounds like you are outside of the concert and when you turn on the 3D it’s like you open the door and walk inside. It is a night and day difference I will never use iTunes to listen to music again. Wish I would have found this app years ago well worth the money. I didn’t even wait the 5 days of the trial as soon as I turned on the effects I said I’m buying this app. Get this app you will not be disappointed. I would give it ten stars if I could!
Exceptional
by ExiledCreation7 on 2019/01/11 05:43
Easy to use and a wide variety of selections to make your music sound superb. Downloaded to use for my small Bluetooth speaker and it makes the sound much louder but also keeps it crisp and clear and not muffled or scratchy by exceeding the standard speaker volume. You will spend a lot of time playing with it’s endless variety of choices making a standard music experience something much more. Not much of a reviewer but I highly recommend this app as it certainly deserves 4 - 5 stars easily. Give it a try and I’m sure you will agree.
Perfect for amplifying
by IAMME4L on 2019/02/09 19:32
Bought some Bose Sound Sport Free true wireless and they sounded super crisp. But lacked in volume in my honest opinion. I looked around for a music amplifier app and this popped up. Gave it a try and tried different settings. These fit the bill perfectly. Did the 2day free trial and they were great. Bought the year because of how well it amplified my Bose. My one drawback is it seems to disconnect every now and again from your music source and you have to close the app and reopen, then search again. Other than that it works well for my use.
Partially supports lossless / .flac
by sangyeij on 2018/06/23 01:55
I'm a long-time fan of Boom for Mac, and tried this out a while back. Cool, I thought, but at the time I was pretty wedded to Apple Music so it wasn't useful to me. Since then I've been getting more into lossless 24bit music, which is usually in .flac format. On a lark, I tried importing a .flac track to Boom tonight, and to my great surprise it worked. Why don't you advertise this feature?? Edit- just noticed it doesn't allow importing .flac from cloud services. Why only the partial support? By fixing that and allowing iTunes file import, you could easily care to the hi-fi market.
JUST Don't bother... They'll take your money and run.
by SageGod787 on 2019/04/02 15:01
I bought the life time back when it first came out. It was awesome since i had an iPhone and took it with me. It had the sound effects and all, back then they didn't have the"streaming"thing but who cared i had my own music. Well they added a couple of streaming features and a subscription so they thought, well the hell with the costumers that bought lifetime.... To them your lifetime obviously means until they make changes to the app... Now god forbid i do anything without getting the subscription ad popping up and the effects i had purchased for life.. No more can access them, so now it's a useless app in the store. I don't write reviews ever...i had to warn, trust me don't bother👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿
This app is great...but it needs some changes
by egkim904 on 2017/11/20 05:08
I use this app everyday, it's great and not only boosts the bass of your music, but allows you to import music files from other apps that allow you to download videos and audio files from the web. This comes in handy when there's a song you want to listen to on the go but it's not on iTunes. Now, I've said all positive things so far, but there's somethings that need to be changed. A majority of my music, now, is on Apple Music. Boom would give me a DRM protection warning before allowing me to play the DRM protected song, just not with effects. I was perfectly fine with that, until I wasn’t. In a recent update, I found I was no longer able to play the DRM protected songs, even without effects. Do you think you could fix this?? Because I’m tired of jumping back and forth between noon and iTunes because I can’t access my Apple Music library. Thank you :)
What happened?
by DigitalBullets on 2019/12/20 18:39
I like the new updates but you removed one of the features that set this player apart from all the rest! The ability to restart a song on the fly by holding the timer button back at the beginning and releasing it whenever you wanted to. This gave us the ability to simulate a mix. Please bring that back! Also give us the ability to remove the auto up next feature. I like to create my own queue and not have one made for me. Thanks!
Disappointed.
by Oliboy on 2019/03/12 09:24
First off, I only wanted to try and then purchase the app for the sound enhancement feature. After the trial period, it turns out this app is subscription based and not a one time purchase. I don’t need streaming services. The option to use the sound enhancement for my own personal music library is all I need. Secondly, the app doesn’t extend the actual volume limit of the iPhone unlike the desktop version does so what’s the point. Sound effects don’t mean anything unless the volume is actually enhanced. Thr ability to enhance the volume limit is the reason I purchased this app for my iMac and my MacBooks. Very sadly and unfortunately- this feature is NOT available for this mobile device version! No good 👎🏻
Could be great
by Coachst on 2018/01/12 20:58
Downloaded the trial a bit ago. If you are using a small speaker (think Alexa) you can realllly enhance the sound to the speaker’s best ability. By far the best app I’ve used. Except...I have about 20 gigs of Apple Music downloaded and some I added to library and some not or whatever causes the DRM Protected error. Only 1 in, being liberal, 20 songs are able to use the apps Effects. It’s on the developers backs to fix this issue which I’m sure everyone is scared off by. I’m not going to reorganize my library and downloads to work with the app- it needs to work with what I have. I’ll gladly change my review and buy the package if this happens—it’s definitely worthy of 5 stars.
Best of the EQ/music player/audio enhancers
by DenizenGroove on 2018/06/29 15:16
I’ve been using Boom and Boom 2 for a long time now. I spend a lot of time mixing and producing music and have a pretty high bar set for expectations when it comes to adding fidelity to compressed MP3 files. There have been some decent apps for helping improve the sound quality of MP3 files but nothing really comes close to Boom. Occasionally some tracks hit a bit too hard but rolling off the Boom effect cleans it up nicely. Amazing improvement to all my audio files!
Good product!
by Stu Q. on 2018/04/19 16:06
But, don’t expect much in the way of customer “service”. Waited a week only to be told the 5 license family pack does not include IOS devices, only Macs. Who has 5 macs? This was misleading in my opinion at the time of purchase at their store. Update: As I mentioned, my purchase was not made at Apples’ stores, but at your store on your website. Your response seems contradictory; however, the “Family Pack” at your store mentions the product can be used on 5 devices (obviously using the same email address), which is not the case. A simple update in the verbiage at your store would clarify this for future purchasers. I do not have buyers remorse and enjoy the product, but your company must be more forthright when selling bundled licenses, I.e., licenses for 5 Macs (unclear, useable for very, very few people since, as I said before, households with 5 Macs are extremely, extremely rare). “Valid for use on 5 Macs/users/accounts” seems to indicate the license would also work at the user/account level as well, not just on 5 Macs. ESL I guess.
Avoid buying this app until bug are fixed
by A1CRAG on 2018/09/04 15:35
Version 1.3.2 is the introduction of “subscription” so unless you want to keep paying a montly “fee to use app” and in my case that even when i purchased this app a year before or so, this developer keep restricting the app and forcing you to “restore the app” every 5 minutes which is very annoying which also you will need to constantly contact their server(will eat your phone data plan), even when developer promise is that if we purchase the app BEFORE version 1.3.2 (which i did long ago) app “will still work for you music stored in your phone” which i have no problems with since i dont use or care about streaming services but app keep restricting EVERYTHING
Very satisfied
by Twist-Erase on 2018/08/28 20:08
I got this app a while ago after having been impressed with the boom app for Mac OS. While the audio gains for the mobile app aren’t as impressive as for the Mac OS, they are noticeable and welcome. The other reason for high marks is the degree to which the app has improved over time. Not necessarily in terms of its audio enhancing capabilities, but certainly in terms of its usability and feature set. This is not one of those apps that gets released and then is largely ignored by its developers. It’s shown steady improvement over time.
Please read developers!!!
by Dhshwbsh on 2018/08/27 12:20
I love the app! Honestly it’s how music is supposed to be listened to. And exceeded all expectations! But there is one thing I would like fixed, I have one album in particular where this is a noticeable problem! And that is Quadrophenia, since most of the songs are meant to bleed into each other, the pause in between songs seems to almost ruin the atmosphere, now I am a music freak, and I’m being very nit picky, I know, but if you could possibly eliminate the pause, this would easily be one of the best music apps I’ve ever used!
Best app that you never knew about until now
by Steven4578 on 2018/03/16 06:45
I love this app! I can actually hear the minuscule things in songs like the sound of the guitarist’s pick striking each note and the symbols are so much more clear from the drums. This app is like plugging into a home theater system and cranking your music. My only complaint is the way it organizes my music library and some of the controls. Overall I give this app 5 stars for the ability to control the eq and the ambience of the reverb it adds.
New Update December 19th 2019
by Dehrealmaccoy1337 on 2019/12/20 07:32
I’ve been using Boom for a while now. I loved how seemless it was to make my music sound so much better and how much customization was at my disposal. However, with the new UI update, the app that i’ve loved for so long is now a buggy mess. I cant switch the position of my created eq profiles, when trying to delete an eq profile the app crashes completely, and to select a song i want to play I have to press above it instead of on it because for some reason it’s registering my touch in the wrong place. I would appreciate it if you guys addressed these issues and keep up the great work!

It’s ok…
by Loveagent9 on 2021/03/04 09:08
You need to do better with file music.

No support for Apple Music

by RoboKiller Lova on 2021/02/03 02:56
Cannot do anything with Apple Music because of DRM restrictions. So for people using apple family plan etc. too many restrictions. Maybe come to some agreement with Apple Music etc, then it’s worth having this app. In app. Store.
Bass app review

Nice
by akotski1338 on 2020/11/21 21:11
I personally don’t prefer my music to be played in surround sound but if you’re into that, this app is for you.

I do appreciate that the amp syncs settings across multiple devices!!!!

by Gizzy2401 on 2020/09/19 03:39
It’s a great app with functional features.

Great app
by Dominick Badial on 2020/09/10 16:34
Really nice layout plus it’s free can’t argue with that offers much than some of the apps that require a subscription to be free used and it works really well with the 3D surround sound on any headphones
I am proud to have bought the $40 lifetime subscription.
wait it isnt a pay to listen

Seems like a really nice one, but lets me down with every use.
by BlueApple198 on 2020/09/06 06:19
Found this with a good user rating but on iPhone 11: (1) when tap play inside this player it shoots out a burst of the musical track and fades away slower than it appeared, all lasting most portion of a second, like hitting on a brass, making short but loud and disturbing metallic sound that scares a living day out of me each time; (2) when simply switch between the music players, such as Dropbox's, it stops playing the track (not pauses). Boom's technical and interface idea, however, is positively appreciated.
Very good!

by joegu on 2020/08/25 12:30
I’m using AirPods Pro and a HI-FI Tidal account and an iPhone 11 Pro Max I’m sorry but this app is not professional enough to ask for a subscription. It makes your music worst by applying the effects. The EQ is just bad quality. The 3D bass effect is God awful. Bad quality app. This app should be free with ads.

by Oflazer on 2020/08/10 06:10
While playing local music or with Spotify, the music randomly stops, sometimes permanently, when the phone is moved. This does not happen when playing directly with the Music app or Spotify. Very annoying. When it plays, the quality is much better compared to the native apps.

Not a huge problem, but, it’s something that would be nice to fix.
buy it 😘Best of the best

So worth it!!!
by Woodshop Whizzard on 2017/12/27 04:55
After being thoroughly unimpressed by the sound quality of the iPhone EQ I went on a quest to find a solution to the bad sound quality.
