Can’t use with Apple Music
by Vp Lrd on 2020/07/06 05:18
I know it may not be within their control, but if you’re trying to use it with your Apple Music, you’ll have to look elsewhere for that.
Needs improvement but BEST I’VE SEEN YET
by Dick Dangerous on 2020/07/03 03:12
Almost immediate response with equalizer adjustments, even through BT. That sold me a bit at first but the quality I get is absolutely unmatched. I criticize sound quality to the fullest and I have not found a “ceiling” to any frequency amplification. Unbelievable, actually, considering my years of hunting down an app that was even average... I just wish I could access Spotify/Tidal pull-down options... like, “make radio station” specifically. I like to mix it up with genres instead of hand selecting tracks or building playlists. They’re always plural because rarely do you go to them unless you’re in the exact situation you built them for, which for me, is never... or literally once. It may not be popular opinion but I like to actually watch the road while I’m driving so I can make sure everyone else is “multitasking” safely enough around me for me to survive my trip. Unfortunately I end up switching to the native Spotify or Tidal app because then I can listen to more than just songs named “Mahogony” after I select “Mahogany” by “Lil-Wayne”... I mean there’s only so many takes on that title, let’s be real. Otherwise best MF eq app I’ve ever used. 15 years of searching finally ended. Thank you!

Best app for right now
Nice Bass Boost/Not for Metal
by Screw ATA on 2020/06/30 23:10
The bass boost is nice, the EQ presets for hiphop/electronic work well. Most genres of metal sound off using Boom so I’d recommend against that. Overall not bad for an app driven bass booster + EQ.
Spotify

Please make Spotify searches better by showing search history. Also can you allow the option to open directly in to Spotify or iTunes music? I purchased the Lifetime pack. Thanks.
Why can’t I play my music from Amazon?
by Leonf4i on 2020/06/24 05:28
It would seem logical that this feature should be allowed but somehow, I don’t see the selection to log into my amazon prime music, which essentially is my primary music source. So unless they make it compatible, I don’t think I can make a full time purchase on this. It’s too bad cause I actually like this product.
Seriously no point.
by Buster3369 on 2020/06/22 19:54
In order to listen to music with “Boom Effects,” you need to BUY your music from Apple in order to use the effects. You can’t use Apple Music subscriptions because it’s DRM protected. And after you spend all that money, still can’t use effects. Might as well just use Spotify or Apple Music on their own.
Excellent application
by Zdñññ on 2020/06/17 15:59
I liked never had a problem with the app
App is great but has issues that need resolved
by iHiJump on 2020/06/16 00:55
1. App doesn’t even try to re-buffer. 2. Instead of re-buffering, it skips to the next stream, which is annoying. Please allow to disable this “feature”. 3. Love the EQ but a volume control would be a great addition. There are times i want to listen to quiet music using my JBL flip, but can’t get the volume down low enough.
I hate this app and I want a refund

Equalizer preset labels off?
by Galveston3433 on 2020/06/13 20:54
Good app but the equalizer preset labels are sometimes different from what effect the app says it’s using after selection. Not a big deal. Makes me wonder if I am missing something since I don’t see anyone else mentioning that.
Pure Junk
by Scott 45840 on 2020/06/13 20:02
I had high hopes for this but if you ask me, it’s pure junk. Hated it. Never worked right and made things sound like crap. Sorry, but that's my experience with it. Save your money...
Song skipping
by Crozzbonez on 2020/06/13 09:57
This app is great, i love the sound quality and I’ve been extremely happy with it. But theres one bug that keeps recurring. For some reason in the middle of songs the song will randomly skip to the next song. I tried updating it and it’s still happening. Hopefully they can get that fixed, otherwise great app!
False advertising
by Lilith23fuckrightoffwiththat on 2020/06/11 21:24
It states in the app that it does not work with Apple Music once it’s been downloaded, despite being advertised differently, iOS users, don’t waste your time.

by Xterre7307 on 2020/06/08 20:44

So Awesome
by Stephenbj4 on 2020/06/06 05:12
I Love This! Reminds me of the Beats Audio equalizer on my HP lab top computer and you can make a sound adjustment manually to what ever you desire not like the regular apple eq on iTunes where you only have a few eq sounds and can not adjust manually This app is also like a DTS surround sound also so awesome I give this a 5 star plus!!!❤️
It’s pretty good tbh
by swaggersoulsss on 2020/06/03 20:39
I wished the transitions between songs or the playback was much more natural and didn’t have a delay

Well not work for a great deal of music.
by ApRoachDevices on 2020/05/28 10:52
II searched for something like this a long time there must be a great deal of demand for this and I understand that the legal matters supersede reality in far as common sense but if you guys could make this work for Apple Music then you would make a great deal more money. Apple is taking over the world as an oligopoly people are nTrending against music from Apple because of this sort of thing. People are slow but they will eventually now.

Missing something
by 4starlite55 on 2020/05/17 13:33
Boom is cool but it would be awesome if it could integrate with movie apps too like Netflix hbo and others. It would make it awesome to use with iphone and ipad. As it is there are no equalizers for those apps and the one on ios only works for apple stuff leaving other apps out in the cold.
Amazing sound even for Audiophiles
by BostonBS on 2020/05/14 16:57
I finally ditched Apple Music, with garbage sound and DRM, listening just became to much of a disappointment, plus Sennheiser premium ear buds made no difference. I moved to Tidal(amazing btw) but still felt it lacked that last bit of umph-then I found Boom, and YES finally an amazing sound experience that gave me the final depth and 3D sound I’ve been looking for. Until 360 music becomes more widely available Boom is where I will stream my Tidal music. Too bad Apple is so lame with DRM, a win for Boom!!!

Awesome App
by LO Rizzo on 2020/05/11 23:39
I had some issues with varying volumes. Support team was quick to respond and very helpful. Issue is with Tidal so I’m working with them now For the Boom team, once hearing the difference the app made and learning I couldn’t use the effects on iTunes music I quickly went to Tidal and cancelled the family iTunes account I had for many years. If you aren’t leveraging a sound bite like that with tour current partners and especially with iTunes, you should be.

Search doesn’t work with Spotify
by Bizibob on 2020/04/30 01:10
Everything I search for comes back not found and if I go directly to Spotify it finds it but will not play through Boom. When you leave Spotify to go to Boom you lose the ability to search outside of Spotify. The sound is awesome but worthless if you can only listen to songs in the categories. 👎🏾
Please make it free

Had to buy twice for iPhone and iPad. Not Cool.
Good, But the auto play..
by Blissomed on 2020/04/27 21:41
I really enjoy this app especially with all the different amps, it’s really professional feeling. So I went ahead and bought a subscription. But, the auto play when I’m listening from the Spotify side, is absolutely horrendous. It stops and cuts out, and doesn’t play the next song unless I press play, which defeats the purpose of autoplay. It’s really aggravating, and I hope you guys can fix it in the future.
Total BS
by JGowan on 2020/04/25 21:37

You'll be blown away by 'BOOM!!!" Don't even waist any more time searching for another music app. I'm very serious about this. Listening muisc in 3D will spoil you. Never to listen again without "BOOM!!!". Your 2 ears are going to be so HaPpY. Thanking you when ever they get to listen to "BOOM!!!" 🤪🎉🙏🙌👁🐾🌞 The Sundance Kid.
Sounds great
by mjxyzaqw on 2020/04/24 01:15
App crashes a lot and is inferior to the official app in every way except the bass. Playlists work but the shuffle function is piss poor unless you scroll through and select one from the middle a few times. Music sounds best if you’re in the app with your screen on too. Do not disturb while driving also messes with the sound and I usually disable it and silence my phone instead.
Yes Indeed
by Audiophile 77 on 2020/04/23 19:52
I just retired my Note8 and went to the Dark Side...I bought a iPhone XS Max but I had reservations and a little regret. I’m a DJ and Audiophile since... (clear my throat) ‘77. I needed something to blow my ears away after leaving Android and the Poweramp app. I definitely found it in Boom. Being a Audiophile I wanted a eq setting for each song in my collection because I listen to everything from The Police/Sting to Notorious B.I.G., live and studio and I didn’t want to use a blanket eq setting for all tracks. Boom can eq each track or I can custom eq to each song and save to each track and that’s a beautiful thing...plus Crossfade! Much thanks to the Boom Developers for creating a app with great sound and features!....Now if they can just include ‘resume play’ when my Bluetooth headphones connect, that would be beautiful.
Greedy
by Fahed Hassan on 2020/04/23 10:33
I have purchased the premium sound pack and after the last update non stop advertising to purchase the subscription!!! Even I can’t let it go , I have to close the app and reopen again !!! Have some homer !! You already took money , paying more should be option not advertising evrytime I open the app beside always see add at the top menu
Not impressed
by Nicko 71 on 2020/04/22 15:49
I bought the app after using the trial for a day. I use Spotify for my music storage and seemed very easy to transfer my playlists over to Boom. Initially it worked great. But after I’d not use it for a while and come back a couple hours later to use again my play lists would be gone. No where to be found. Then it would all of a sudden play terribly. Made my speakers sound like they had been blown. If I logged off and logged in my playlist would come back but the sound quality didn’t. Only way I got that fixed was by deleting the app and downloading again. What a hassle. I want my money back! I don’t have time to log off and log back in every time I want to use the app.
Great EQ, Underwhelming UI
by Omegawatts on 2020/04/16 22:03
UPDATE: 4/16/20 I’ve emailed support in app and never got a response. I went to the website to see if I could find a workaround or even just instructions. Nope. I’ve been a long time customer of Boom. I’ve used it on my MacBook since ~2010 and it was always fabulous for it’s simplicity and reliability. This version is not simple/intuitive or reliable. Little quality of life things, like it not bringing you back to the last source you played on your last session, add up. Repetitive shuffled playlists, clunky playlist interface management, and a general lack of customization make using the app a chore. The payoff comes when you finally get to your jams. The EQ is phenomenal. Sound is as rich and powerful as your speakers can handle. The first time you use the app you’ll want to go back and listen to your entire catalog again. But, unfortunately there are bugs in playback. I’ve had the app lock up several times when trying to play from Spotify. I’m not sure why, but this leads to more finagling with the unfriendly UI. Overall I would give this app 4 stars if it were a one time purchase but if you charge a subscription, my expectations are higher. As it stands, I can’t see myself renewing once my year is up.
No that impressive ..
by klammekut on 2020/04/16 19:34
It’s a generic dsp, it sounds extremely bad tbh .. Lots of reverb and phase trickery I don’t care for.
Question
by Papaw Mark on 2020/04/16 13:40
Isn’t it wrong to sell someone a product, and then take the features that you paid for away? Now being expected to pay again for what I already paid for???? Oh yes it sounds decent. Go ahead and purchase up. This time next year they will take half of features away and expect money to get em back!!
Es casi perfecta.
by maldo17 on 2020/04/15 22:52

It changes and level up the sound of my music on my iPhone and Mac. Yes I even have it on my Mac. Very nice. My suggestion for now is I cannot customize the bottom labels like songs , album, playlists, etc. very much appreciated of on the next update some customizations maybe granted. And new features as well... thanks

Boom
by Gorambo on 2020/04/01 10:03
Tried this app out for the trial period and now all they want me to do is buy a subscription why can’t I just buy the app for the one time price? Sounds great for the songs that it works with but doesn’t work with all songs or Safari browser so sorry YouTube. The subscription fee for this app is ridiculous for what you get so if you have money to burn buy this over priced app. Which does not work with all the sounds coming from your phone or computer. Better to spend your money on Netflix. 2020 still waiting to buy this app. I don’t need another subscription that only works with some songs, sorry. Update so yes you can by a life time a subscription on sale for about $39 yippee 🙄 This app still has its limits can’t effect all music. Apple limits. Works best with earphones on music played through you phone. When you find a song that it works with it does have a noticeable improvement!! Best to try it out and decide for yourself. For me it’s still to expensive for my needs.
Why premium
by Pertplus2012 on 2020/03/31 23:18
So it said it was free and you could use Spotify with it but when I tried to login to Spotify with the app , it said you need Spotify premium to use it and it made me so mad because it said it was free.

Thank You for latest update...
by SuperBlaq on 2020/03/22 18:02
Now when going to the equalizer, it flies to the selected equalizer instead of having to scroll all the way to the bottom where the user created equalizers reside. Before the redesign of the app we were able to move our created equalizers to the front, but this will definitely do. Thank You🙏
Improves XR speaker quality
by Xanderak on 2020/03/22 15:27
iPhone XR standard speaker playback is (currently) awful, due to the mid range coming through so much louder. Cover your ears and run! But with Boom, you can turn down the mid range with a custom EQ, making it sound waaaay better. 8 channel looks like this: '''' _ _ _ - Boom seems to be the only eq app with internet radio, spotify, etc. I don’t use app with earbuds, only speaker by pool etc. Devs might take note - to use the app as I am, you have to skip thru all the headphone screens, and then make your own EQ to fix the output. Might cater more to this use and get more downloads. Hopefully not banned by apple! Thanks for app!
Best out there!
by Cybertechman on 2020/03/22 14:45
I love using Boom! It is the best out there by far with everything it does. I do have a suggestion for the suggestion box. I would love to see fast forward and rewind buttons (if there’s not already a way to do it that I’m missing) rather than having to guess where to move the slider. The buttons would be ones that let you move forward and backward about 10 or 15 seconds, and when you tap and hold the forward button, it would act as a speed up play button until you let up off of or to return to regular playback speed. This would let you be able to more easily jump to portions of a song which are closer together and speed through a portion if you want to just speed through it faster until you get to the part you want. This is just a suggestion, though, as this is still the best out there either way.
Terrible Interface
by b111w on 2020/03/19 23:59
New interface impossible to decipher. E.g., seems to be no way to turn off shuffle. You should have left well enough alone!!
STILL IN LOVE
by Floydian4Ever on 2020/03/18 21:16
I remember when Boom was starting out and I took a chance on a relatively unknown music playing app. Fell in love at first listen, and like any relationship I griped a tiny bit when it wasn’t exactly free anymore but I just couldn’t let my Boom go so years later through few iPhones and many iOS’s, we’re still together because there’s no other music player is as intuitive to my listening needs be it headphones to AirPods thumping my bass hard as AF till it remembers to shut itself off (Sleep Timer built in YES!) so we’ll keep Boomin forever cause ITS 100% WORTH IT. To APPLE MUSIC AND PANDORA PPL QUIT HATING COMPLAIN TO THEM! It’s not Booms fault THEY don’t want u to use any other app but theirs! Thanks for the multitude improvements and for bringing visualization back! 🥰🥰🥰

After my hasty first review I must say once this app is dialed in its awesome. I cant believe that I have been with out it. A must for the Bose Quiet Comfort 35 II Makes em POP. I got a 6 month sub to see but I can’t see changing my mind.. GREAT APP!!!!!
Ruined
by Tomz0086 on 2020/03/14 21:04
If I want Spotify I’ll get Spotify. If I want Tidal I’ll get Tidal. I wanted an equalizer, so this is why I downloaded Boom. Couldn’t you just stay in your lane? A monthly subscription? To use an EQ ? Seriously ? I’d rather plug in my own on wired headphone. Complete nonsense. Greed has ruined countless apps and this one is no different. Soon the only things we will be able to do with this computer in our hands is turn it on and turn it off without paying hundreds of subscriptions. I pay for Apple Music. I don’t care who owns it. Apple Music offered by Apple the company who makes iPhone, the device and ecosystem that the music EQ app you developed was specifically created for and yet I still can’t use it to tweak the sound of the music I’m paying for. Apple’s own service.... I don’t want to use third party services. I want to use Apple’s. Completely and absolutely ridiculous.
BOOM - All you need for immersive sound
by edchristievoiceover on 2020/03/03 06:57
I bought Boom for my MacBook several years ago, have upgraded through the years and have been very satisfied. Recently I purchased a new iPhone and was not happy with the available iOS EQ. I was pleasantly surprised to find my a Boom version for iOS. Forget the detractors and negative reviews. I’m a 50 year old guy who loves all kinds of Music. Boom definitely delivers to this “Boomer” - Thank You ! 🤣😎🤔
Love it!
by BAR112 on 2020/03/03 03:52
Recently starting using my Bluetooth Apple AirPods; Boom works great allowing me access to all my music stored in Dropbox (using wi-fi at home). In addition, the equalizer features help me tweak my sound (love deeper base). I paid a one-time fee many years ago and was able to restore my purchase. I do not need whatever the subscription offers. Highly recommended!
This app does nothing
by Gupplin forger on 2020/03/02 12:22

Done with this app - I updated February 28 2020 and it completely derailed everything- can’t search for songs- songs that are playing don’t match cover art- same song keeps on playing when I press next track and now it just crashes —- Bye Felicia to this ghetto app. Deleted off my new iPhone. And it’s a shame because I really enjoyed this app before current update.
App for iOS - No Apple Music
by ElMo_Palmira on 2020/02/28 20:10
Please do us a favor and remove this app from Apple store. Are you kidding me? No Apple Music feature available due to whatever reason. Come on 🤦🏻‍♂️ Update: clarifying not Apple Music support under the description saved a lot of time before installing the app. I hope apple allows Boom to be use with Apple Music, for now it is useless to me as Apple Music subscriber.

take the towel off
by Tradehead on 2020/02/25 06:33
Nice graphics etc but, the sound with this equalizer is awful . It sounds like you have a towel on your speakers . I use EQ 10 and the sound is so much more crisp and clear . This apps has that typical muffled sound , it’s awful !
Bad version
by ring2mobile on 2020/02/24 09:23
Removed the visual equalizer, although it looked very stylish and attractive, the apps has lost a lot without it. And if you need to add songs to an existing playlist, you can’t add the selected songs with one click, you need to add each one separately, this is complete nonsense. And bugs, and bugs...
No artists - album - songs view instead artists - songs
by wildeSG on 2020/02/24 00:07
Like the sound. It’s not earth shattering better than other music players with EQ capability, but it gets a tiny bit more out of it when listening via Bluetooth earbuds (using mostly AirPods pro). The only issue I have is when selecting an artist, it then shows all the songs in random order instead of first showing an album view within which one can then see the songs. This is just so basic but quite annoying when you have a lot of music in the iPhone with a lot of artists and most of them with more than just 2 albums. Please fix this, it’s very basic
Can’t stop listening
by PNW_454 on 2020/02/20 00:50
Really enjoying this app. As a first time user I’m drawn to comparison listening, but every time I listen this one is quickly becoming my go-to music app. Aesthetically, I would like to see albums in grid view, hence the 4 instead of 5 stars. I purchased the annual premium, but if this is still primo and reasonably priced I may opt for the lifetime invest. Too bad about the Apple DRM, now that would be really sweet, but I have ample d/l’ed on my device so am content for now.
Needs to be a Music Player App
by Pulsedemon on 2020/02/19 05:45
I love this app. I’d give it a 5 but I can’t use it with Apple CarPlay which is HUGELY important to me. This needs to be made into a Poweramp/Medua Monkey style player, with the equalizer being the selling point. Unless something like that happens, I probably won’t be keeping the subscription. What a waste of something that could be brilliant.
Great app

Amazing sound quality. Are you guys able to add a car option. Like Bluetooth or apple carplay connection?
Doesn’t work with Amazon Music

Would be better to have at least the big names in music streaming available. Hard to test with canned music that comes with app to decide if this is worth having as an app or not.

Makes my soundbar sub sound like a 12” Solo Baric L7
by klpjrnigga on 2020/02/15 12:26
The low frequency bass that is enhanced through this app is amazing. I personally enjoy very deep clean bass. The 30 - 45hz range. The app alone literally makes my home sub hit frequencies that basically don’t exist using other apps. Normally any app that does happen to have an eq doesn’t really help much at all. When you try to turn up bass or maybe raise the very high frequencies, they all do like the other and lower everything else. This makes the songs volume low or even what annoys me more is when the bass hits the vocals lower making the whole thing sound like trash. This doesn’t happen in boom. It literally sounds as if I added a powered 12” sub and some high end satellites to my pretty basic sound bar setup. You want more bottom end? Just adjust the 40hz eq. Hell just bring it all the way to the top, and drop the 75hz to the bottom. Then, Boom!!! (no pun intended). All of a sudden you have quality sound that’s clean, clear, deep, and has that proper punch you hear from kick drums and such. Basically I didn’t think there was an app or eq out there that could do this. In the past the only way was to go buy a high end sub with pretty powerful amp. Also the fact that I can stream from tidal and Spotify where all my playlists are at just makes its that much better. * Note to developer: If I could actually stream my YouTube music playlists you would have the “Perfect Music App” That is the only thing that I can say I don’t like about it. I also know that’s more than likely something that is out of your control. Hopefully not though 🤷‍♂️.
Won’t work
by corvetteman141 on 2020/02/13 05:13
Won’t work on iPad with 13.4 update
Be careful: it’s only streaming
by Germy1 on 2020/02/11 04:50
It’s a excellent application but It’s only streaming. No chance to download your tidal playlist so you can listen when offline. Forget about to use it when in a plane or so -wrong marketing as it’s being sold as for use it with your headphones As a tidal user is really difficult to streaming as files are really heavy. But if you are at home with very high speed internet access, then you’ll be ok. Of you plan to use it when traveling then don’t buy it.

by Teeraysee on 2020/02/10 22:04
Great sound, clean interface, 5 stars there. Doesn’t play recently loaded music, doesn’t shuffle very well as it plays two songs by each artist in a row since the major update, gets hung up like it’s it’s run out of songs to play, there is a lot to improve here.

THE ALPHA MUSIC PLAYER!
by "HARDBODY" on 2020/01/30 22:45
I am deeply involved in music, in fact I DJ, so sound quality & programs etc I know well. With that said, I have used many music Apps trying to find the best one. Yes there are a couple of good ones I came across, but in my opinion “BOOM: Music Player” is the Alpha of them all. I purchased the Mac Desktop version about 2 years ago (also fantastic) and use their BOOM Remote for complete functionality. Last year I purchased the app for the 1 year subscription which expires in a week. I use BOOM at least 5 days a week a few hours each day (it gets a lot of play) & I personally never had issues ie, can’t ever recall it crashing, in fact after their last update I feel it is even better. I am so positive that this is the Alpha of the music player apps I said F@%k it and just purchased the Lifetime pack. If I have to nitpick there is ONLY one thing I hope they add/fix, so I hope the developer reads this, hear me and fixes it. The system in my truck (custom) has a remote so I never have to touch the radio or phone for anything BUT with BOOM I can only skip to the next track.....back from track to track. Would be outstanding if I could scroll through/ Fast forward within a track… in other words if I simply want to hear a certain spot in the track. If I want to do that I need to open the phone/app a scroll that way. NBD, still a BadA$$ APP. Oh and their customer service is on the up & up! The times I emailed I ALWAYS got a response pretty fast!

Quit asking to “restore” after every update!!
by chegaro on 2018/12/03 23:02
Great app! But it mis alphabetizes all of my Music Libray. All music groups who’s name starts with “The” are all lumped together under, THE, under the t’s, (ex. The beatles, the cure, the rolling stones, the B52’s, etc...) as opposed to where they should be alphabetized. ALSO, EVERY TIME I JUMP BACK INTO MY LIBRARY FROM WHERE I AM (when in “Album” view, not in “Songs” view)IT DOESN’T TAKE ME BACK TO WHERE I JUST WAS, BUT INSTEAD, IT TAKES ME BACK TO THE VERY TOPMOST OF MY WHOLE MUSIC LIBRARY, BACK TO THE A’s...and this sometimes frustrates me so much, that the time killing of it forces me to switch to another music app, (as there isn’t the little “alphabetical sidebar”, as in “songs” view, that allows you to tap on the starting letter of the musical group, a,b,c, etc., to get you there quicker). Other than that, this is a pretty decent app, and has great sound possibilities and customization, and I use it now quite often, but not as much as my favorite music app, which is the FANTASTIC, EQ10...also, the squeezing of album art is another issue, but overall, its not that important...keep up the awesome work!

Exceeded my extremely low expectations!
by AlmostNotDumb on 2017/11/24 20:15
I’m familiar with virtual surround sound with gaming and I think it works great for what it is. Not sure how it would work with music so I came across this app which is free for like 5 days. Plenty of time to test it. I didn’t really know the difference at first. I could tell there was a difference just not sure what. So I was starting to wonder if this was a gimmick after listening to a whole album of one of my favorite bands. I then started to listen to the same album without the Boom effects or app. I couldn’t even finish the first song without wanting to go back to the Boom app effects. It definitely sounds more full and it is easier to pick up multiple sounds and voices distinctly. I am using this app with my Beats Solo 3 headphones. On some songs the bass got too heavy for what my headphones could handle so I had to adjust the EQ a bit on some songs but treble is awesome on my headphones so everything else was amazing. I’ll have to test it on other headphones I have. Overall definitely worth trying and definitely worth a one time purchase of $4.99. I got it on sale for $2.99 on Black Friday. Even better! You will never want to go back to 2D music after using this.
Why?
by gregfahey on 2020/01/07 19:59
I like the sounds available with Boom. No issue there. In fact I'd love to have this. However, this BS about who "owns" the music is infuriating. I pay Apple to stream music. I don't mind paying as musicians deserve our support. Absolutely and 100%. So I'm paying to make it all legit. Yet, there's another standard applied if I want to take off a bit of the treble on certain mixes. So basically, since I have minimal space to be able to download certain tunes locally, I'll get to use Boom on the few songs downloaded. Unacceptable. If I'm paying for the rights to listen to artists, I should be afforded the control over how I prefer the desired EQ. I pay the same price to stream it as I do to download it as well. Here it is, 2020 and apparently the man behind the curtain is shaking his head "No!" when it comes to having an EQ function on one of the most popular and technologically advanced pieces of hardware on Earth.
People keep complaining...
by Darklon on 2018/03/16 17:34
...about "problems" with this app. But the issues I keep seeing them complaining about CANNOT be fixed by the developers! Listen up!!! APPLE controls access to files with DRM, not the developers. I love this app, and I'll admit there are problems. For example, I'd love it if I could set Boom as the default player for music. But it's Apple's ball park so I doubt that will **ever** change. Technically, I guess it's Apple's ball park, bats, **and** balls. 😉 At any rate, before you go off half-cocked and make a complaint, make certain you've got your facts straight. For example, if the program is crashing a lot, but you don't see a lot of reports about crashing from other people, it's probably an issue with YOUR device. Additionally, devs usually fix crashing issues pretty quickly if they effect a number of people. To fix a problem like a crash, they have to be able to track down a problem. I'm running Boom on three iOS devices, almost daily, and it's never crashed on any of my devices. I personally give this app two thumbs up, five stars (GOLD stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) and I highly recommend it because it makes all my non-DRM music sound so much better! I barely ever use the Apple music player at all. I even use Boom when I'm listening in my car, and it makes my music sound richer and more full, even over my stock car speakers.
Great.... but:
by TravisAK on 2019/04/11 06:13
This is a great app. I’ve probably tried every music player in the App Store and this is by far the best. Beautiful clean interface. Easy to use and the effects do add new life to your headphones. There are a LOT of optional settings to play around with. ONE STAR OFF FOR THE YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION NONSENSE!! Just charge a one time flat fee so we can be done with it. I paid the subscription because it’s worth it and I’m gullible, but I would have happily paid a bit more for a one time fee. Update: the bass is blowing out my headphones. (A few different ones; Beats, Grado) I’ve tried turning off the bass boost and it doesn’t do much. The only fix is to turn off effects which defeats the point. Is there a way to dial down the bass a bit more without having to build a custom eq? Overall still a great player though. (Prefer the Vibrant and Flat settings. Both have same issue)
Almost Perfect
by VoltPlayer on 2018/01/25 19:12
I just purchased the Boom for my iPhone and so far I love it with one huge exception. I obviously use this app in place on the default iPhone music player, so that I can take advantage of the EQ functionality. So, I get into my car, fire up Boom and start listening to music and everything is fine.. I can control the music (next/previous, volume up/down using the controls on my steering wheel) just like I can using the standard iPhone music app. However, occasionally boom will reach a song in my playlist that it claims cannot be EQ'd due to DRM (which is fine), so it plays the song anyway (just without any EQ functionality) - the problem is, whenever that happens, I lose all control to the app, meaning I have no way to control it anymore from my steering wheel buttons. This requires me to kill the app, and restart it, and everything is fine again. So, this is a really annoying bug, and I hope you can fix it soon!
Great app but enough with the marketing
by stealthnoodle12 on 2019/03/06 17:15
I love Boom. I use it for my desktop and mobile device. Music would not be as good without it! But Boom, whoever is in charge of your push notifications, tell them to put more thought in before they hit send and stop sending so many notifications in general. I’m officially annoyed and turning them off. They are useless messages. Today I was notified with “Its half way to the weekend! Get going with Boom!”. What am I supposed to get out of that? I know it’s Wednesday...it’s literally displayed above your push notification on my lock screen. I’ve been getting messages like this almost every day. tl;dr Great job engineering team. You’ve created apps that are a must have. Marketing team (I assume), make your push notifications informative and useful for your users.
So buggy and no real shuffle
by Plucky Albatross on 2018/04/08 19:06
I’ve been using Boom on my desktop for years and love it, but there are so many problems with the iOS iteration. First of all the interface is incredibly clunky not easy to navigate at all. I’ll hear a song and want to see the artist or album and I have to press like 12 extra buttons and scroll to do so. The shuffle is not a true shuffle because the 2nd song is always the very first alphabetical song in my library. And then it plays things in order even when it’s on shuffle. Almost all of my songs are songs are Apple purchases (meaning Boom effects can’t be applied) but they only recognize a random few as such. It freezes constantly and the main play screen with the circular artwork is so ugly. Just show me the entire square artwork. When it works, the sound adjustment is amazing but the interface is so so so clunky and there are 3 many bugs with this app. Can somebody please recommend a comparable replacement that actually works?
Incompatible with Apple Music.
by k0rraa on 2019/04/15 15:07
The app makes all my songs sound so much better and most importantly it increases bass without sacrificing any of the other frequencies. That being said, as mainly an Apple Music user the app is UNUSABLE because Apple protects all their music with DRM, so the developers are unable to Apply Boom effects to the songs. I understand this is a problem with Apple and not the Boom developers, but I strongly encourage them to find a workaround to this issue because it basically makes the app incompatible with Apple music users. The moment this app works with Apple Music songs and can be used offline is the moment I buy a subscription, until then I’m sticking to the default Apple Music app

Living with music every day of your life, you quickly pick-up the nuances of of sound - the highs, lows and mid-ranges - each have several ranges within themselves and it can be irritating when something is wrong. I discovered BOOM just after it first came out, and while it wasn’t perfect, it was close. The developers are obviously audio freaks as there have been several modifications since the original and each step gets them closer to the wholly grail of perfection. My first bit of advice is delete everything else you use and get this app. Second, listen wearing high-end, over the ear headsets. (I’m wearing Sennheiser’s HD 660 S as I type this.)
You get what you pay for.
by SAtheElder on 2018/05/12 02:10
I read the description and understood what this app does and doesn’t do. I tried it out for 5 free days (thank you Boom) and was very happy to pay the meager price asked to continue listening to my purchased music with all the sounds I’d forgotten since ditching my DiscMan CD player a thousand years ago. This App will make your purchased music sound so awesome you’ll remember why it’s worth paying for it. Your ears will thank you, your favorite artists will thank you, and you will sleep well knowing you’re a good person who is keeping new music alive by participating actively with your heroes (because you buy their art) and your Momma always said nothing good is free.
100% Recommend
by whereboysfeartotread on 2018/04/05 04:05
Boom makes the music-listening experience immensely more enjoyable. I first purchased Boom on my computer and was eager to get it on my phone when I realized there was a mobile app. Boom's effect on music is superior when compared to the Apple music app; I can't stress this enough. In addition to the EQ features, I use the cross-fading feature as well, and can't get enough of it. I highly recommend this app to anyone who loves music and wants to elevate their listening experience even more. My only recommendation would to make the queue more editable; like being able to add single songs into the queue at any given time, similar to Apple's queuing features.
So Disappointing!!!
by ikabroukman on 2019/09/28 06:10
I bought the boom3d MacBook software and I’m so pleased so I obviously thought this is same as on laptop like it’s dress up on my music and sound all over laptop but unfortunately the iphone version is so unfriendly. First of all there’s only dark theme and no clear white which is terrible and I’m really having problems reading so unfriendly. Secondly it does not dress on my iPhone library music but wants me to use it’s library. Instead of just adding the fabulous equalizer system to my already playlists on my default iPhone which is much more friendly for looking at and more simply. Thirdly the visualizer is so idiotic... what is this? I’m not a kid in the 80s in NY with stereo on my shoulder. Get serious...Hey... make your version user friendly and then I’ll buy it! For now it shadows the laptop version but in a bad way! Too bad.

Perfect for those with high-end headphones. I can experience the full capabilities of my iphone linked B&W headphones. Boom 3 on my mac is another level. I suggest purchasing the boom product for each device. The app even upgrades the Bose sound system configured in my Escalade. I use Sonos for in-home audio. So, I’m not sure the effect on BT Home speakers. If you have better speakers, then probably none. My only complaint is that you should be able to max out all app setting and volume, while using the auto equalizer, and receive with no distortion. Full bass for 3d is impossible to play for almost any song at 75% or above volume.
Needs improvement
by sachiko koshimizu on 2017/08/13 08:16
I like the app but the one thing that I'm a little disappointed about is it doesn't count the number of plays for a song (on the built in iPhone music app, each time a song is finished, the counter adds one to the number of plays. It adds however many plays for a song to iTunes since the last time you synced your phone with your computer.) I personally like to keep track of my progress, so if it wasn't for that I would still use this app for listening to music. Also, the visualizer during when a song is played is kinda slow and doesn't look as smooth as I hoped for. I'm not an expert programmer or anything but these sound pretty easy to fix. Once it is then I'll definitely give this 4 to 5 stars as well as use this app more often.
Monthly sub, really?
by random_geek on 2018/11/01 00:13
I’ve enjoyed both Boom 2 and Boom3D on my Mac for many years. It’s one of my indispensable apps that I simply can’t live without. If the iOS version is anything like the Mac app I’m sure it’s excellent quality. But there is simply no way I’m paying monthly for it. If you want to charge me $20 for the iOS version even though that’s far and away higher than most any other utility app costs, sure I’ll pay it. Why? Because Boom is that good. But every year, into infinity? I really don’t think so. I’m so tired of subscriptions and micro-transactions milking every last dime out of loyal customers. The only recourse we have is to speak with our wallet. So no, I’m sorry. Charge a flat rate, charge for upgrades, charge for features we want, yes, all of that. But don’t charge just for the “privilege” of having the app function the way it was intended. Disappointed.
Mostly great!
by Pombunni on 2020/01/06 07:32
It’s a great music player, has a great equalizer, and makes it so that importing your music is fairly convenient. But, for the love of god, please make sorting songs in your playlist easier. I’m the type of person that has to have my music sorted very specifically, and dragging a new song to the top of my playlist with a few hundred songs in it takes like half a minute. When I’ve download multiple songs and need to drag them toward the top, it can take around an hour. Please do something to fix this—maybe add a scrollbar on the left side or make the scrolling speed when moving a song faster. Other than that, it’s a great app :)
Great Audio, Ugly App
by Nallen280 on 2018/09/25 00:18
The audio effects are GREAT. Seriously. They make all audio sound amazing. I have two issues with the app though. The first is the design. It’s ugly and it’s cumbersome. Swiping up and down, left and right, buttons are in the wrong spot up in the notch, or they’re just not responsive. PLEASE update the app to be more modern. It will be a million times better if the design is refreshed to be like a more traditional music player, such as Apple’s stock app. The second issue is that the equalizer requires a subscription. In my opinion, that’s really ugly. I bought Boom 2 for my Macs, and it works great. I’d gladly pay $15 or even $20 for this equalizer and an amazing design. It’d be absolutely worth it. So PLEASE, update the app and take it back to a one time purchase! Thanks!

Awesome, but...
by hisdudeness85 on 2017/09/24 17:14
This is a really good music app. I like having the option of different presets for different genres of music. I also like the ability to change your headphone style, be it in ear or over ear. The one option, though, that would give this app 5 stars instead of 4: an option for car speakers. I use this app in my car way more than I do with headphones, so, that addition would be much appreciated by me. Also, there’s something strange bug that doesn’t show the artist in the car display when it’s hooked up to the vehicle. Not a huge problem, but, it’s something that would be nice to fix.
Misleading.

I tried this app and listened to a few of my songs from within the app and at 1st was very impressed at the sound quality when the effect is enabled. Within the app you can turn the effect on and off and the quality of all tracks was much improved with the effect on. But, I soon realized what was happening. My music sounds flat when listening from within the app with the effect disabled. But if I listen to the same track on my built in player on my iPhone the track sounds great without the app. So from what I can tell turning the effect switch off within the app intentionally degrades the sound quality of my track in effort to make the effect impressive. The switch does not compare the effect with the sound of my built in audio. Very misleading. I will not be keeping this app.
Holy yes amazing.
by xKagu on 2018/08/08 20:27
Upon hearing about the Mac version and using it I wanted to see if this would hold up just as well. One song in and I already can tell this is going to be so worth it. It gives the songs so much more feeling to them. And while I may not be an audiophile, hearing "more" of the song makes it an awesome addition to my library of apps. Also, to all the complainers, you really can't fix something you have no control over, especially when it comes to Apple products. You can't make Apple change something. So you're stuck with their rules, like it or not.
So worth it!!!

After being thoroughly unimpressed by the sound quality of the iPhone EQ I went on a quest to find a solution to the bad sound quality. Well, I found it with the BOOM app!!! Super easy interface and full access to my songs made set up a breeze. Then comes the amazing sound. Wow! What a difference this app makes. All of the music sounds so much fuller. I actually thought there was something wrong with my Bose headphones when I first listened with the iPhone EQ. Then I downloaded the boom app and experienced the full potential of my headphones! Thanks BOOM!!! Such an incredible deal for $1.99!!!
Love the app but it has a few bugs
by deZigner on 2017/12/10 08:32
Surround sound boost sounds fantastic when you can get the app to play the song. Seems to be a big bug in that it classifies some music as playing from the cloud (so no effects) when it is in reality downloaded to your device. On my own device there are several songs that I know are downloaded but show as from the cloud or Apple Music within the Boom app. Sometimes the app will stop playing all downloaded music entirely and will only play the music it thinks is from the cloud or Apple Music. I had to delete the app and reinstall it for it to play the other songs again. App would be a five star app if they could fix those problems.
Sounds amazing, but not for Apple Music
by nickobey9593 on 2018/04/22 20:32
The quality of the music is noticeably superior to listening through the regular music app. Effects are just as good as the Boom 3D Mac app, though you need an in-app purchase to use the 3D effects after a trial period. Sounds best on headsets like Beats, but still works really well with AirPods. Only problem is that you can’t use any of the quality enhancing features like 3D if the song is from Apple Music because they have DRM protection (so you might have to run them through a converter on your mac) but songs purchased from the iTunes Store are fully compatible.
Whoa!!!
by Gideon12676 on 2017/12/12 05:38
This app is amazing I can’t believe the difference in my music. Without this app it sounds like you are outside of the concert and when you turn on the 3D it’s like you open the door and walk inside. It is a night and day difference I will never use iTunes to listen to music again. Wish I would have found this app years ago well worth the money. I didn’t even wait the 5 days of the trial as soon as I turned on the effects I said I’m buying this app. Get this app you will not be disappointed. I would give it ten stars if I could!
Exceptional
by ExiledCreation7 on 2019/01/11 05:43
Easy to use and a wide variety of selections to make your music sound superb. Downloaded to use for my small Bluetooth speaker and it makes the sound much louder but also keeps it crisp and clear and not muffled or scratchy by exceeding the standard speaker volume. You will spend a lot of time playing with it’s endless variety of choices making a standard music experience something much more. Not much of a reviewer but I highly recommend this app as it certainly deserves 4 - 5 stars easily. Give it a try and I’m sure you will agree.
By far the best sounding enhancement app.
by Pawpawdoug on 2018/12/11 07:37
I have down loaded so many free and purchased even more music enhancement apps ever since I purchased the 4s. I have Bose over ear headphones and no other app has come close to the rich sound & deep bass this app puts out also really easy to use. Keep up the good work and if it is possible to improve it I can't wait. I have deleted all other apps I had, but there is one thing that would really be appreciated since you have been able to make it work with Google drive why not make it work with Google play?
Perfect for amplifying
by IAMME4L on 2019/02/09 19:32
Bought some Bose Sound Sport Free true wireless and they sounded super crisp. But lacked in volume in my honest opinion. I looked around for a music amplifier app and this popped up. Gave it a try and tried different settings. These fit the bill perfectly. Did the 2day free trial and they were great. Bought the year because of how well it amplified my Bose. My one drawback is it seems to disconnect every now and again from your music source and you have to close the app and reopen, then search again. Other than that it works well for my use.
JUST Don't bother... They'll take your money and run.
by SageGod787 on 2019/04/02 15:01
I bought the life time back when it first came out. It was awesome since i had an iPhone and took it with me. It had the sound effects and all, back then they didn't have the"streaming"thing but who cared i had my own music. Well they added a couple of streaming features and a subscription so they thought, well the hell with the costumers that bought lifetime.... To them your lifetime obviously means until they make changes to the app... Now god forbid i do anything without getting the subscription ad popping up and the effects i had purchased for life.. No more can access them, so now it's a useless app in the store. I don't write reviews ever...i had to warn, trust me don't bother👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿
Partially supports lossless / .flac
by sangyeij on 2018/06/23 01:55
I'm a long-time fan of Boom for Mac, and tried this out a while back. Cool, I thought, but at the time I was pretty wedded to Apple Music so it wasn't useful to me. Since then I've been getting more into lossless 24bit music, which is usually in .flac format. On a lark, I tried importing a .flac track to Boom tonight, and to my great surprise it worked. Why don't you advertise this feature?? Edit- just noticed it doesn't allow importing .flac from cloud services. Why only the partial support? By fixing that and allowing iTunes file import, you could easily care to the hi-fi market.
What happened?
by DigitalBullets on 2019/12/20 18:39
I like the new updates but you removed one of the features that set this player apart from all the rest! The ability to restart a song on the fly by holding the timer button back at the beginning and releasing it whenever you wanted to. This gave us the ability to simulate a mix. Please bring that back! Also give us the ability to remove the auto up next feature. I like to create my own queue and not have one made for me. Thanks!
This app is great...but it needs some changes
by egkim904 on 2017/11/20 05:08
I use this app everyday, it's great and not only boosts the bass of your music, but allows you to import music files from other apps that allow you to download videos and audio files from the web. This comes in handy when there's a song you want to listen to on the go but it's not on iTunes. Now, I've said all positive things so far, but there's somethings that need to be changed. A majority of my music, now, is on Apple Music. Boom would give me a DRM protection warning before allowing me to play the DRM protected song, just not with effects. I was perfectly fine with that, until I wasn’t. In a recent update, I found I was no longer able to play the DRM protected songs, even without effects. Do you think you could fix this?? Because I’m tired of jumping back and forth between noon and iTunes because I can’t access my Apple Music library. Thank you :)
Disappointed.
by Oliboy on 2019/03/12 09:24
First off, I only wanted to try and then purchase the app for the sound enhancement feature. After the trial period, it turns out this app is subscription based and not a one time purchase. I don’t need streaming services. The option to use the sound enhancement for my own personal music library is all I need. Secondly, the app doesn’t extend the actual volume limit of the iPhone unlike the desktop version does so what’s the point. Sound effects don’t mean anything unless the volume is actually enhanced. Thr ability to enhance the volume limit is the reason I purchased this app for my iMac and my MacBooks. Very sadly and unfortunately- this feature is NOT available for this mobile device version! No good 👎🏻
Could be great
by Coachst on 2018/01/12 20:58
Downloaded the trial a bit ago. If you are using a small speaker (think Alexa) you can realllly enhance the sound to the speaker’s best ability. By far the best app I’ve used. Except...I have about 20 gigs of Apple Music downloaded and some I added to library and some not or whatever causes the DRM Protected error. Only 1 in, being liberal, 20 songs are able to use the apps Effects. It’s on the developers backs to fix this issue which I’m sure everyone is scared off by. I’m not going to reorganize my library and downloads to work with the app- it needs to work with what I have. I’ll gladly change my review and buy the package if this happens—it’s definitely worthy of 5 stars.
Good product!
by Stu Q. on 2018/04/19 16:06
But, don’t expect much in the way of customer “service”. Waited a week only to be told the 5 license family pack does not include IOS devices, only Macs. Who has 5 macs? This was misleading in my opinion at the time of purchase at their store. Update: As I mentioned, my purchase was not made at Apples’ stores, but at your store on your website. Your response seems contradictory; however, the “Family Pack” at your store mentions the product can be used on 5 devices (obviously using the same email address), which is not the case. A simple update in the verbiage at your store would clarify this for future purchasers. I do not have buyers remorse and enjoy the product, but your company must be more forthright when selling bundled licenses, I.e., licenses for 5 Macs (unclear, useable for very, very few people since, as I said before, households with 5 Macs are extremely, extremely rare). “Valid for use on 5 Macs/users/accounts” seems to indicate the license would also work at the user/account level as well, not just on 5 Macs. ESL I guess.
Best of the EQ/music player/audio enhancers
by DenizenGroove on 2018/06/29 15:16
I’ve been using Boom and Boom 2 for a long time now. I spend a lot of time mixing and producing music and have a pretty high bar set for expectations when it comes to adding fidelity to compressed MP3 files. There have been some decent apps for helping improve the sound quality of MP3 files but nothing really comes close to Boom. Occasionally some tracks hit a bit too hard but rolling off the Boom effect cleans it up nicely. Amazing improvement to all my audio files!
Avoid buying this app until bug are fixed
by A1CRAG on 2018/09/04 15:35
Version 1.3.2 is the introduction of “subscription” so unless you want to keep paying a montly “fee to use app” and in my case that even when i purchased this app a year before or so, this developer keep restricting the app and forcing you to “restore the app” every 5 minutes which is very annoying which also you will need to constantly contact their server(will eat your phone data plan), even when developer promise is that if we purchase the app BEFORE version 1.3.2 (which i did long ago) app “will still work for you music stored in your phone” which i have no problems with since i dont use or care about streaming services but app keep restricting EVERYTHING
Very satisfied
by Twist-Erase on 2018/08/28 20:08
I got this app a while ago after having been impressed with the boom app for Mac OS. While the audio gains for the mobile app aren’t as impressive as for the Mac OS, they are noticeable and welcome. The other reason for high marks is the degree to which the app has improved over time. Not necessarily in terms of its audio enhancing capabilities, but certainly in terms of its usability and feature set. This is not one of those apps that gets released and then is largely ignored by its developers. It’s shown steady improvement over time.
Please read developers!!!
by Dhshwbsh on 2018/08/27 12:20
I love the app! Honestly it’s how music is supposed to be listened to. And exceeded all expectations! But there is one thing I would like fixed, I have one album in particular where this is a noticeable problem! And that is Quadrophenia, since most of the songs are meant to bleed into each other, the pause in between songs seems to almost ruin the atmosphere, now I am a music freak, and I’m being very nit picky, I know, but if you could possibly eliminate the pause, this would easily be one of the best music apps I’ve ever used!
Feedback & Suggestion
by Dragons952 on 2018/05/14 06:42
The equalizer is fantastic, and it is better than playing music from stock iOS app. One of the things I don't like is the bad navigation through the albums category with the large album artwork view. In the past, the album category looked similar to the songs category; with the small artwork on the left, and album name next to it. That was a great user interface, as you're able to see more album's on the screen; plus there was a A-Z slider on the side to quickly navigate to an album. Having a large artwork of a album taking up too much of the screen not only decreases the amount of albums you can view on the screen, but also the removal of the A-Z slider, but there is also the wait time for the large album artwork to render, which overall makes the browsing experience seem slower. Please consider having a smaller album artwork view, with the addition of the A-Z navigation that the stock iOS application has.
Best app that you never knew about until now
by Steven4578 on 2018/03/16 06:45
I love this app! I can actually hear the minuscule things in songs like the sound of the guitarist’s pick striking each note and the symbols are so much more clear from the drums. This app is like plugging into a home theater system and cranking your music. My only complaint is the way it organizes my music library and some of the controls. Overall I give this app 5 stars for the ability to control the eq and the ambience of the reverb it adds.
New Update December 19th 2019
by Dehrealmaccoy1337 on 2019/12/20 07:32
I’ve been using Boom for a while now. I loved how seemless it was to make my music sound so much better and how much customization was at my disposal. However, with the new UI update, the app that i’ve loved for so long is now a buggy mess. I cant switch the position of my created eq profiles, when trying to delete an eq profile the app crashes completely, and to select a song i want to play I have to press above it instead of on it because for some reason it’s registering my touch in the wrong place. I would appreciate it if you guys addressed these issues and keep up the great work!

Can’t use with Apple Music

Thank you!

App is great but has issues that need resolved
by iHiJump on 2020/06/16 00:55
1. App doesn’t even try to re-buffer. 2. Instead of re-buffering, it skips to the next stream, which is annoying. Please allow to disable this “feature”. 3. Love the EQ but a volume control would be a great addition. There are times i want to listen to quiet music using my JBL flip, but can’t get the volume down low enough.

Pure Junk

Song skipping
by Crozzbonez on 2020/06/13 09:57
This app is great, i love the sound quality and I’ve been extremely happy with it. But theres one bug that keeps recurring. For some reason in the middle of songs the song will randomly skip to the next song. I tried updating it and it’s still happening. Hopefully they can get that fixed, otherwise great app!
False advertising

I Love This! Reminds me of the Beats Audio equalizer on my HP lab top computer and you can make a sound adjustment manually to what ever you desire not like the regular apple eq on iTunes where you only have a few eq sounds and can not adjust manually This app is also like a DTS surround sound also so awesome I give this a 5 star plus!!!❤️

People are slow but they will eventually now.

by 4starlite55 on 2020/05/17 13:33
Boom is cool but it would be awesome if it could integrate with movie apps too like Netflix hbo and others. It would make it awesome to use with iphone and ipad. As it is there are no equalizers for those apps and the one on ios only works for apple stuff leaving other apps out in the cold.

Good, But the auto play..
by Blissomed on 2020/04/27 21:41
I really enjoy this app especially with all the different amps, it’s really professional feeling. So I went ahead and bought a subscription. But, the auto play when I’m listening from the Spotify side, is absolutely horrendous. It stops and cuts out, and doesn’t play the next song unless I press play, which defeats the purpose of autoplay. It’s really aggravating, and I hope you guys can fix it in the future.
Total BS

Ruined
by Tomz0086 on 2020/03/14 21:04
If I want Spotify I’ll get Spotify.

Be aware
by Crushed59 on 2020/02/25 12:25
In order to use boom for Spotify or any other music app you have to have a premium paid account, for example I paid for boom life account but if I want to use it for Spotify I have to have to pay for a Spotify premium account in order to use boom,I waisted my money!!!
take the towel off
by Tradehead on 2020/02/25 06:33
Nice graphics etc but, the sound with this equalizer is awful .

Hopefully not though 🤷‍♂️.

by corvetteman141 on 2020/02/13 05:13
Won’t work on iPad with 13.4 update

Great.... but:
by TravisAK on 2019/04/11 06:13
This is a great app.

Too bad.
Buy the App

Thanks!

Frankly i have tried many audio enhancers and wast a lot of dollars 💵 and i did not get satisfied. And i said ok lets try that 💥 Boom because i really need to listen to a super sound in my music and i got it . I tried in many hip hop songs and it impressed me by the quality and the clear improvement in my audio . That is why i said Buy it You gonna love ❤️ it it worth it and more value than any other expensive stuff .. thanks for the people who bring this app to life And thanks every body letting me share my experience with every one looking for a better sound . Have a good 😊 one ..
Misleading.
by e.xman on 2017/07/23 16:18
I tried this app and listened to a few of my songs from within the app and at 1st was very impressed at the sound quality when the effect is enabled.
So worth it!!!
by Woodshop Whizzard on 2017/12/27 04:55
After being thoroughly unimpressed by the sound quality of the iPhone EQ I went on a quest to find a solution to the bad sound quality.

I love this app! I can actually hear the minuscule things in songs like the sound of the guitarist’s pick striking each note and the symbols are so much more clear from the drums. This app is like plugging into a home theater system and cranking your music. My only complaint is the way it organizes my music library and some of the controls. Overall I give this app 5 stars for the ability to control the eq and the ambience of the reverb it adds.
Amazing sound even for Audiophiles

I finally ditched Apple Music, with garbage sound and DRM, listening just became to much of a disappointment, plus Sennheiser premium ear buds made no difference. I moved to Tidal(amazing btw) but still felt it lacked that last bit of umph-then I found Boom, and YES finally an amazing sound experience that gave me the final depth and 3D sound I’ve been looking for. Until 360 music becomes more widely available Boom is where I will stream my Tidal music. Too bad Apple is so lame with DRM, a win for Boom!!!
Awesome App

I had some issues with varying volumes. Support team was quick to respond and very helpful. Issue is with Tidal so I’m working with them now For the Boom team, once hearing the difference the app made and learning I couldn’t use the effects on iTunes music I quickly went to Tidal and cancelled the family iTunes account I had for many years. If you aren’t leveraging a sound bite like that with tour current partners and especially with iTunes, you should be.
