lost bookmarks icon
by wallypalo on 2019/09/14 22:10
I really liked Brave until the most recent rev. The bookmarks icon/button is gone. I discovered that if I tap about six times hard on the three dots at the top right of the viewer window, I can get a bookmarks list, but it disappears as soon as you use it. I have had to switch back to Safari. Was this change intentional? Anyway, it ruined the app for me. I figured out the biggest weakness for this App. The icons for bookmarks (“...”) and a few others require pinpoint precision of fingertip placement to effect a response. It is nearly impossible on a screen the size of an iPad mini. I was having to punch an average of six times before getting the bookmarks pop-up. Same is true now of the back and forward icons (“<>”). To get the bookmarks icon to work you have to concentrate on the leftmost dot in (“...”). Raises the probability of success to 33% if one is in a well lighted room. Shouldn’t be this hard.
Works great

Blocks all YouTube commercials, adjusting is quick and simple, there’s literally no reason to use anything else.
Look, I want to love Brave.
by mseery on 2019/09/14 03:41
I like it; I like it a lot. The privacy features are good. Could use some work, but good. The world needs a browser like Brave. Kudos. The issue is the bugs. The biggest needle-drop bug I’m hitting right now is the one where you switch to another app and come back and all of your tabs are just gone. Poof. It happens so often that I literally just now checked the Settings to see if this were a preference I could change. I’m on an iPad 6th Gen running iOS 12.4.1.
Privacy? Not with Brave!
by DabbleinApple on 2019/09/13 17:08
If you’re interested in this browser for privacy concerns, look to Duck Duck Go instead. Unless you manually change it in settings, your default search engine is Google...the entity that earns billions of dollars each year by gathering and selling your information. Google also has a history of suppressing information that it doesn’t want you to know while promoting websites that promote its agenda. Other browsers that follow suit are also automatically added to the Brave browser. Worse, if you go into settings and make changes to these default browser settings, your changes are reset to their defaults every time that Brave updates the app. How much is Google and Microsoft paying you to help them spy on and insidiously shape the thoughts of thousands of people with misinformation, Brave?
Great Privacy Internet Browser
by Myles De Felicis on 2019/09/13 14:34
I love using privacy apps like Brave. Most the of the websites I search on work well through this browser and load quicker with the built-in Adblocker. Brave makes it easy to sync all my bookmarks from my Brave desktop Internet browser to all my mobile devices. I also like how allows you to select what kinds of shield protections you want to use, such as fingerprint protection. The settings make it very easy to give you the privacy that you want. What would be great is if Brave could enable the Brave BAT Rewards feature like they do on their desktop apps by viewing privacy-respected ads so I could collect BAT currency. Otherwise, I’d choose this app all the time than switching between different privacy browsers.
Only browser with true ad blocking
by CarpathianXmas on 2019/09/13 14:28
Tested same page on BBC with Brave, Safari, Firefox, and Chrome (all with ad blocker option enabled). Brave was the only one to truly block all the ads.

Almost there…
by elgrego1939 on 2019/09/11 19:45
I really want this to be my always browser. I already recommend it on the desktop, and I’d like to be able to on iOS as well. All I really need is sync to work with everything (not just bookmarks) and the ability to view open tabs on other devices. Thanks! Addendum: Please, please add this. It is so useful in Firefox: Google Chrome Now Lets You Send Webpages To Other Devices While there are many visual changes to Chrome 77, Google is introducing a new send webpage to devices feature. You can right-click on a link and a new context menu will appear that simply lets you send links to other devices where you use Chrome. If you're using Chrome on iOS you'll need to have the app open and a small prompt will appear to accept the sent tab.
Everything is blocked
by intlenus on 2019/09/11 02:13
Blocks everything can’t open most pages. No way to open them if you want to and you know they are safe. Very frustrating
Awesome browser but needs some fine tuning
by ClausoPlus on 2019/09/11 01:02
This browser honestly is so nice. It’s got a lot of features that you seek in a browser, especially ones that Chrome lacks. It has a clean interface for the favorites bookmark, it has a built-in adblocker and reader mode (which isn’t the best but it’s still nice), it has cool animations, etc. However, it’s still not perfect. Some “issues” include that it’s not really friendly towards one handed use, a feature that I would really appreciate if added. For example, a button at the bottom could be added in place of the 3 dots that activates the search bar. Then, those three dots could be integrated into the Brave logo at the top. Moreover, the tabs page, which has tiles that are somewhat hard to reach, could have a button at the bottom that reaches the top. Also, it would look cleaner if the url is shorter at the top and that, when you scroll down, that shortened url still appears. I completely realize how I’m nit-picking, but these would be nice to have nonetheless.
My favorite browser ever
by inquisitive-ibex on 2019/09/10 21:02
I’ve been using Brave (Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android) pretty much since its inception and love it. iOS integration is admittedly not as good as on Android (you can’t set it as the default browser to launch from apps, for example), but it performs just as well as on any other OS. I do wish it was able to synchronize settings and extensions in the way that Chrome does, but I don’t see this functionality as a dealbreaker by any means. There will absolutely be certain sites that don’t work quite right (usually those with Captchas and MFA), but it’s always easily resolved with a simple click or tap on the lion. In short, I can’t recommend this browser enough. Definitely give it a try!
Stable & private.
by BenHM3 on 2019/09/10 12:47
Many months of Brave browsing, the only site I still need Safari for is a tiny credit union. I’d call it a capable replacement with benefits.

Wow. One of the fastest and cleanest browsers in the App Store. In an attempt to find a good alternative to Safari, I’ve tried all the popular browsers: Chrome, Firefox, the new Opera, Puffin, and others. I find this browser tops them all. Extremely fast, simple clean UI, reader mode, blocks ads, easy to access Favorites. Yes!!!!

Missing alot of features, no link sharing
by jenkweb on 2019/09/05 21:39
I wanted to like this but it is impossible to share a link, text deselects when you tap the address bar so no copy or paste functions work there. Help docs don't get updated with version releases. No desktop mode. Bug report link in Settings is non functional. Crashes often.

After years of Chrome and sloppiness associated with it, I am really enjoying Brave! Excellent browser. Try it!
Nice, but not all I need.
by Old_novice on 2019/09/05 16:28
Overall, I like Brave Browser on my iPad, and I use it regularly. However, I have a few complaints or suggestions for improvements. 1. The Back/Previous Page button is small and very close to the edge of the window/screen and very close to the Forward/Next Page button. I have difficulty in accurately tapping and activating the button to return to the previous page. I've never had this problem on other browsers I've used on my iPad, including Safari, Chrome, Firefox, DuckDuckGo, and others. 2. The same problem applies to the "..." button which is used to bring up a menu containing Settings, History, and Bookmarks. 3. Starting from a browser page, clearing "Private Data" (Cookies and Site Data, Browsing History, Cache, and/or Saved Logins) requires a ridiculous SEVEN screen taps: Tap "..." to bring up a menu. Tap "Settings" to open the Settings dialog. Tap "Clear Private Data" to bring up the Clear Private Data dialog. Tap "Clear Private Data" (again!) to bring up a confirmation dialog. Tap "Clear Private Data (for the 3rd time!) to actually clear the data and return to the Clear Private Data dialog. Tap "Settings" to return to the Setting dialog. Tap "Done" to return to a browser page. So far as I can discover, there is no quicker/shorter means of erasing the "private" data and returning to a browser page. IN ADDITION, if you also wish to close a browser tab, as I usually do when I am deleting cookies, etc., you must perform an additional tap for each browser tab. The Brave Browser needs a top-level button -- always available on a browser page -- like the "Flame/Burn" button in the DuckDuckGo browser. To clear all data and tabs, only two taps are required: (1) tap the Flame/Burn button, (2) tap "Clear Tabs and Data" in the confirmation dialog. You are automatically returned to a new, default browser page. (The action of the Flame/Burn can be configured to clear only data and not tabs if you like.) 4. Although, in the Brave Browser, you can delete ALL the so-called private data, there is no way to view and/or selectively edit/delete any of these items individually. You can clear any of four broad categories separately, but within a category no finer control is possible, and there is no way to see what you are deleting. (The four categories are Browsing History, Cache, Cookies and Site Date, and Saved Logins.) So, I continue to use Brave Browser and to recommend it, but I use alternative browsers more often.
Great Browser, One Problem
by Ausbin the Trashcan on 2019/09/04 20:49
Like the title says I really like this browser but my one issue with it is when I search images instead of being able to tap into a preview of the image it takes me directly into the website hosting the image. At the moment it’s the only thing stopping my friends from using this as a daily and it’s slowly pushing me away too. If this got fixed the browser would be awesome! Definitely recommend. EDIT: Looks like switching to another search engine besides Google does fix this problem. Updated to 5 stars.

Buggy...
by sky_blue02 on 2019/09/01 17:44
Only about half of ads are actually blocked. Unlike with Safari and a content blocker, like AdGuard, there seems to be no way to add an ad to the list of blocked items. So I’m stuck seeing ads on search engines, Taboola sections (which I’ve heard can be a serious security issue) with irrelevant clickbait, and banners. The ‘report a bug’ link in the app doesn’t even work! Talk about ironic. Lately, AdGuard had only blocked some of the ads in Safari, which is why I have Brave a try. But the issue is even worse with Brave, and unlike with Safari and AdGuard, I can’t add an ad to the list of blocked items, I’m just stuck with ads all over pages. I had given Brave a try on my desktop and was really disappointed with it there, too. I ended up switching to Vivaldi. I really hopeBrave gets its act together. It’s a great idea, but it really needs a lot of work to fulfill its potential. For starters, the ‘report a bug’ button should definitely be either working or removed. A button should not just sit there being non-functional. It’s easy to fix if you want the feature, and even easier to remove if you don’t. An app is much more presentable with all its controls working. I really don’t know how it got released with a non-functional button. That should’ve been fixed in beta.

Please make auto-correct work with iPhones and and I will change my rating to 5 stars and eventually please make this do everything Aloha will do and I will stop paying For all other browsers / vpn services and I WILL start paying for a paid subscription to Brave if one is offered eventually with a vpn . (This is the dude who created Mozilla and they kicked him out and stole his ideas so he created brave for the people . Power to the people because the people have the power and that is America . We will always be in control as long as the U.S. constitution is enforced) so big respect man. Btw Alex was the one who turned me to you and gave me that ‘info’ ;) I want to give YOU my money not THEM. Thanks though and I hope to see big improvements soon.
It’s alright.
by Nil Cipher on 2019/08/30 19:51
It is good with the ad blocking and the security features, I guess. But it goes crazy with some simple tasks, like street view on maps and when you try to zoom in on a page or picture. It gets very annoying and then you just have to use another browser anyways to see things correctly. So, what’s the point then? I have it on my android phone and iPad, and it’s just as annoying on both. Also on my Mac. Just like Firefox, I really want to use it and ditch chrome and what not. But then they don’t deliver. For one reason or another, one just wants to uninstall after a while because they don’t offer a smooth browsing experience. Obviously I’m not a developer, or programmer, etc., none of that. But for the people who are, why can’t a browser be secure and not annoying? On my Mac I can’t watch a Prime video directly from the browser. But I can on the phone. Why? I can do it with Safari. If it could only be consistent with all the devices. 🤷🏽‍♂️

by Okc Bill on 2019/08/29 00:36

Excellent built-in privacy controls
by Cale4nia on 2019/08/28 21:59
Allows whitelisting javascript per site. This is not possible for any other browser. I would like the same controls for cookies instead of having to block all or allow all. More features, like a firewall also would be much appreciated. I’d like to deny all third party requests except for whitelisted sites, and only for approved domains. Ideally, we could subscribe to pre-configured controls per site. I’d like the minimum viable website, blocking everything else.
Back button and back-swiping doesn’t work.
by u/waterguy12 on 2019/08/28 19:28
When you swipe to the previous page, or hit the back button, it just lands you on the same page you were on over and over again. This makes the browser unusable. Please fix this, I’ll be using DuckDuckGo in the meantime, reluctantly.

by Ehbiill on 2019/08/28 11:48
The demise of google is more important now than ever before. I have been waiting a long time for this to happen. Lawyers will be standing on your doorsteps. Google is the only one responsible for security. They only want too feed their pockets and place the burden on you. There is no such thing google represents as free. The cost of doing business with you is very costly as they now sit on the payroll of politicians.

Bookmark Fail
by Ben Hamin on 2019/08/27 00:28
The bookmark function is still bad. Bring back the very useful bookmark placement in the upper left corner. Brave use to have a corner in the market for best access and functional bookmark feature. Now you’ve buried it like all the mobile browsers. Stop breaking good with bad design. Not obvious. Not handy. More clicks. Takes two hands to use the browser now. Fire whoever thinks they improved the bookmark feature. They are a mole from another browser app sent into to ruin Brave.

buttons are tiny and unresponsive after the latest update, specifically the next/previous page and reload buttons. I'd imagine they're fine on iPad, but I'm on iPhone. Also consider integrating an anti-ad block defuser, such as nano defender. Use to be that you could hit the "x" to stop the page load at just the right time and get around the anti-ad block, (was somewhat of an art to time it right), but thats now impossible as I nolonger hit the "x" but instead the search bar.

You’re going to lose a lot more people that are interested in your project, if you don’t dig deep into the billions of tokens you have access to and compensate the users for our support & assistance in helping to grow the Brave economy... yes compensate in a much more meaningful way than . That would be the best move.
Will not delete browser history - resolved

It is decent. Needs some minor improvements.
by tittie-kaka on 2019/08/24 19:18
Overall, it is a good browser, and has the potential to be great. In my opinion it needs two tweaks: 1. Move the refresh button to the bottom navigation bar, near the back and forward buttons. 2. When playing media on a website, like a song, it stops playback when the screen turns off. This does not happen with Safari.
Great browser!

Brave rating
by westarmtn on 2019/08/23 17:14
I love what you all are attempting to achieve and I truly appreciate it. BAT rewards are interesting and fun and some of the ad content you offer is truly interesting, much of it is technical to a degree and I haven’t had time to follow some of these leads but I wish I could and I will when I can. Thank you for taking our right to privacy on the internet extremely seriously. All the best to all Brave and BAT people who make this all possible.
Great Browser but one annoying bug hasn’t been fixed
by Le-a plz on 2019/07/04 16:34
Even when I specifically tell iOS not to background refresh ANY apps, Brave will always refresh itself in the background. This seems to be random and I have no control over it. It’s especially annoying when I’m streaming independent podcasts on a website, lock the phone, then 30 seconds later the podcast stops because it refreshes the page. This also happens if I just open another app with it playing in the background. The only workaround I know of is to keep my phone constantly on the webpage, which is annoying because I sometimes need to save battery life or just do another thing on my phone. I have no idea how to fix this, can someone help?
Buggy...
by sky_blue02 on 2019/09/01 17:44
Only about half of ads are actually blocked.
New favorite browser!
by Noodles zoo on 2018/07/29 20:24
About a month ago I deleted all my other search browsers and have been using this one since then. There are quite a few different settings that you can mess with to make it more personal for you. That being said you can leave it just how it is and it works perfectly! One cool feature about this app is it can show you the amount of seconds it has saved you while searching as well as how many ads it has blocked. I have definitely noticed the lack of ads since using this and I mean who actually likes ads? Not me. If I were to try and find one bad thing about this app is that while you are trying it doesn’t auto correct your words while you are typing like safari does but that is a very minor thing. Over all I would definitely recommend using this browser over most others.
You guys are the best!
by MEGAPIE06 on 2018/06/03 05:24
The Brave Team messed up the browser recently, but it was fixed super quick. The recent update that changed the way the interface looks is super cool, but one thing that got messed up is that they replaced the new tab button with a search button. What’s the problem here? Well, there was no way to open a new tab without viewing the tab list, which I used to do all the time. The new search button does exactly the same thing that tapping the search bar already does, so this change made no sense at all. I complained in a review and a day or so later an update comes out and reversed this change completely! Thanks Brave Team for being great as always! OLD REVIEW _____________ Brave team, I love the new update. It’s much nicer looking than before. But please, PLEASE change the search button back into a new tab button! There is absolutely no reason to have a search button since you can just tap on the address bar at any time to do the same thing, but to make new tabs I have to switch to the tab view and tap it there. It takes twice as long and the button they replaced the new tab button with is completely useless and breaks my workflow in the browser. PLEASE change it back or give us the option to change it back!
Crashing Issue
by Starting to hate this app on 2018/12/10 22:24
I love Brave, I use it on desktop and it’s fantastic to have it both on my iPad and on mobile. I appreciate that devs give a crap when it comes to privacy and that there’s an entire browser dedicated to protecting our information. However, it’s pretty buggy, and since the last update, there’s an issue with consistent crashes. It doesn’t crash on my iPhone, but it does on my iPad (which is a fairly new iPad Pro)—I haven’t been able to use it for the past hour without it crashing. The other bugs are things such as favorites not saving, copying a page doesn’t always save the link to the device clipboard, “find in page” search vanishes right after attempting to use it so you have to try 2-3 times before it works, tabs overwrite each other even though I’m opening new tabs, and old tabs vanish without explanation. Hope these things clear up so I can raise my rating!
Faster than Chrome and Doesn’t Track Everything About You
by ex-googler-4749 on 2019/01/08 09:55
I recently switched from chrome to brave after realizing the full extent of the information alphabet collects on you from chrome. I anticipated a decrease in my browser experience with brave in exchange for the privacy benefits, but I was very pleasantly surprised to find that my browser speed was noticeably better with brave. Since Mozilla has begun engaging in extremely concerning behavior regarding Firefox privacy, Brave is, in my opinion, the essential alternative for those who wish to use the internet while maintaining their civil liberties. For those familiar with the software engineering industry, brave is led by former Mozilla Foundation chief and JavaScript author Brendan Eich, a person for whom I have great respect and admiration. I strongly recommend this browser to everyone.
My personal experience... The Browser I didn’t know I needed
by straght flush on 2018/12/18 01:05
I downloaded this because I was trading small amounts of their Crypto Currency (BAT) on Coinbase and thought hey I should see what this actually is. After reading up on it and confirming it’s an actual browser and not a scam I downloaded Brave and surfed around the web and wow. From what I have read it is not as good on desktop but I have not actually tried it so I have no idea, but on my phone and tablet it is amazing. Everything loads so much faster, they really do cut out all those annoying adds. This is something I completely stumbled on by accident and love it. Still pretty new so if I end up having a lot of issues and realize I over hyped this I will change the review, If not I highly recommend you try this out.
Meh.
by CM👁 on 2019/08/23 10:37
I used to love the functionality of this app, but its racked up a fair share of bugs & they haven’t been fixed in a while. First, I normally keep tabs to pages I visit frequently open in my main browser, but sometimes I use the private browser for things I don’t want in my history. Going from main to private is fine, & going from private to main (used to) close all tabs open in private (not main !), which I liked, but recently the app has just ben crashing when I go from private to main, which closes all my tabs in the main browser. Luckily it restores them but there was a time it didn’t & I lost a bunch of pages I needed & couldn’t remember. Second, sometimes embedded videos won’t load & I’ll get an error. It’s a Brave-specific issue & Safari has never had this issue. I’ll even copy links to test it, & Brave seems to just not play certain embedded videos (not all, just certain ones.) Again, I still use Brave & enjoy the privacy features & built-in ad block, but the errors are piling up & with each update more & more come, with less noticeable fixes. I also haven’t seen any way to report bugs within the app, which is why I’m writing this review. I hope improvements & changes come soon, this definitely is one if the best apps for people concerned about their personal data & information.
Glad i switched
by http_dad on 2019/06/05 23:18
i was reluctant to switch from Chrome but since they’re starting to block ad-blockers i finally made the jump and i’m so glad. Turns out Brave is a chromium (chrome-based) browser so i was able to sync it with all the same info i had on Chrome in a matter of seconds. It’s WAY faster and uses like half the data and battery that Chrome did. I even switched to it on my desktop as well and along with all the other great stuff they PAY me when i look at ads (it’s been a few days and they already paid me like $3 so it’s not that much but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). I sound like i’m being sponsored to write this review but like.. if you’re apprehensive just give it a try, i’ve been very impressed.
Huge potential
by Vonkaiser on 2019/04/15 08:49
Brave is relatively new; a work in progress from a talented guy who happened to invent javascript and has been closely involved in the development of web browsers since web browsing became a thing. Brave is a browser that blocks most troublesome ads and trackers by default and, as a sort of peace offering to the beleaguered advertising industry and online content creators in general, is also coming out with an opt-in advertising network and voluntary contribution system that functions much like a global Patreon-using a cryptocurrency as the medium if exchange. Interesting stuff! While it's still somewhat early in development so it's not perfect, but it already provides a solid browsing experience with minimal hiccups as-is. Try it out!
Fastest Browser Available
by Dondizz on 2018/01/20 16:19
I was skeptical at first, but after using it for a few days now, this is unquestionably the fastest mobile browser available. I was a die hard Chrome guy and it took a long time for me to finally give it a shot (who likes changing something like their browser?), but now that I have I will never look back and I have already downloaded the Brave browser onto my PC. This browser has built in ad blocking and puts the users privacy first. Gone are the days of Google and Facebook tracking our every move and selling our data to any and everyone. Take back control and give the Brave browser a shot - the difference is truly noticeable.
Promising but buggy
by machineinthestudio on 2018/04/13 07:32
After both Atomic and Mercury browsers became obsolete, I’ve been looking for a browser that offers the features of those browsers: passcode/fingerprint lock, reliable file downloads that can be easily transferred, bookmark organizing (including folders), dimmable screen (in addition to native iPhone controls), tabbed browsing, and a scroll bar. It’s been difficult but Brave comes close with substitutes like night mode and tabs with passcode security. I rotate between two VPN services so I’m not concerned with VPN services. The main problem with Brave: buggy and quits when organizing bookmarks especially when trying to add a folder. If this feature gets fixed and Brave adds a scroll bar and/or screen dimming options, it can fulfill the vacuum left by Mercury and Atomic - a worthy goal!

Most revolutionary blockchain innovation yet
by Yehudi15 on 2017/11/23 19:54
First of all this is a great browser and works just as well as Chrome, but with no ads as the default. A really promising initial product. Second, the idea behind this will completely change how media is monetized. This company is using cryptocurrency to let advertisers directly pay browser users for viewing ads and content creators to receive micro payments for views. It will make demonetization and censorship by Google less relevant bc they will no longer be needed as a broker between users and advertisers. Start using this browser and tell more people about it. Adoption is all this company needs to make this idea a reality.
I’m excited about this evolution in browsing
by Kathcanna on 2019/03/11 12:45
The security and privacy the Brave browser provides is very exciting, the cards are being put back into the consumers hands with the ability to be able to customize and tokenize ones attention. Even more evolutionary than that, is the fact that this will be educating all who use it about the functionality of blockchain and cryptocurrency. I believe that Brave will be an essential leader in continuing further adoption and evolution in this space. I’m thinking that this could be useful in school systems. It would be an interesting exercise to work with kids in say 6-12 grade and provide hands on , real world experience with the blockchain while potentially earning BAT.
Awesome add block with a few drawbacks.
by thatoneguysdog on 2019/01/17 15:47
This browser works very well for browsing the internet while blocking adds and subsequently speeding up load times and lowering data usage. The main pain points are that it can’t be enabled as a default browser and links on webpages don’t auto open a new tab when clicked. When you click on a link on the website or in another app nothing happens. You have to hold down to copy then paste in the search bar. A couple features I would like to see added to the mobile version from the PC are LastPass integration and the ability to use a TOR private tab. I hope we will see an update(s) fixing the aforementioned link problems and possibly adding some more features from the pc version.
Just gets worse & worse
by Lone.gunmen on 2017/12/16 02:08
Update: Just tried version 1.5.2. Buggy mess. New tabs webpages top half are not rendering. Took less than 5 minutes to spot this huge bug. Brave devs are not even trying any more. Ugh. Every new version of Brave gets worse and worse. I used to praise the Brave browser, but not anymore. Safari is twice as fast at rendering sites. Also, Brave has made some dumb UI decisions. You used to be able to pull down on the webpage a little & get the top tab bar to show. Not anymore, you have to scroll all the way to the top. Also, if you’re halfway down the page and open new link into a new tab, it doesn’t auto show the new tab at the top, you have to scroll to top to access it. Noticed that sometimes a bug keeps you from closing tabs, etc. It’s easily one of the slowest rendering browsers I’ve ever use. It had potential early on, not so anymore.
Simply the Best Mobile Browser!!!
by Zer0 P0int on 2018/07/24 23:32
Hands down the best browser available. Security features are top notch and ads are gone. I hate so much that some mobile sites have ads that completely block parts of blog articles because of the weird way they are resized and can’t be moved. This takes care of that completely. As far as page loads, it is faster, maybe not 5-10x faster. But if you are saving 2-3 seconds on every page load period, it adds up to be a significant difference. I hope this sets the bar on what browsers should be. Wish I could set default browsers on iOS, because this would be it!!!
Great app, needs some features.
by gchdrake on 2017/09/28 07:36
Brave is awesome. I use it whatever I can to browse the web on my iPhone, and it provides a smooth, user-friendly experience. However, I could use a few features to make life a little easier. For example, when I launch press a link in other apps, there is an option to “open in chrome.“ If the developers of Brave could add an “open in Brave“ feature, that would make the app 10 times better. I don’t mind copying and pasting links into the browser, but being able to press one button to open the link in Brave would be so much nicer.
Was dismayed to see bookmarks have been removed
by ddfgtes on 2019/08/09 14:23
Ok, so what’s the deal Brave? What was once a one button push affair now takes three clicks to get to as they’ve buried bookmarks in a submenu. This was a five star app but it’s extremely annoying to have to “go fish” for my favorites now when before all I needed to do was hit the bookmarks button once and they all appeared. Now it’s hit the ... button which brings up a menu of options, bookmarks being one of them, and then you hit that to actually show them, and then you’re presented with your favorites, and what’s worse is the new menu button is crammed between two other buttons and my fat thumbs often pick the wrong one. Please put them back as their own standalone button on the upper left side of the search bar.
Really Impressed
by radloot on 2018/03/29 18:53
I don’t know the last time a mobile browser actually impressed me. Most are the same. Opera Coast was a cool browser but kinda backwards in terms of functionality. But now that I’ve been locking down security a bit more, I found Brave. Using it even over a VPN it is super fast loading, and I love the statistics of how many ads it has blocked, etc. It is noticeably faster than all other mobile browsers I have used and blocks ads and trackers (and does it really well - that’s important). I will be switching to Brave on desktop as well. Fantastic work standing out in such a saturated market!
Worth the switch
by wexlax732 on 2019/07/18 22:03
Facebook, Google and other tech companies have purposely forgotten the golden rule: “the customer is always right”. They no longer value us as clients because they have a monopoly. Brave restores control back to the end user in that control over our privacy is rightfully restored. The browser layout is clean and easy to use. Speed is there as well. They even give you control over your ability to opt in to seeing ads and monetize you to do so!! Well worth the switch from chrome or whatever other spyware, I mean browser (lol) you’re currently using.
Great start
by L0uietheking on 2017/12/31 06:23
First I would like to thank you for making this as I truly believe it is a great application and concept. The app is very intuitive when it comes to functionality and simple to use. The features it offers are the ones expected and I don't feel as I am compromising anything by switching from chrome. I do see an improvement in speed compared to crome although minimal enough to be possible perception. I would like to see theme support and a more modern/sleek looking interface or more customizable in future updates. As the title states this is a great start.
Goodbye safari and chrome
by Utsaroadrunner on 2019/08/01 01:14
I like Safari and Google Chrome but both those branches have their own issues. I really enjoy this browser because everything is built in. It is based off chromium which is it open source version of Google Chrome. On my Mac I am able to use my Google Chrome extensions and it is wonderful. Are used to have BAT enabled but after a bit of research it turned out to be not worth my time. I love where Brave is going and would recommend it to anyone! It’s a simple hands-off browser that just works. Way to go developers!
Great PLATFORM!

Any method that allows me to not use one of the big techie company’s apps...I’m willing to try. I switched my browser to DuckDuckGo a while back which I use on Brave now. I like their bookmark and I like that unlike safari every single webpage is not stored so that you have to go back and close the pages. At the same time it will open past pages very quickly. I’m no expert in all of this, but I really like it. My only issue is that I can not figure out how to go from my emails that have web links directly to Brave...they always go to safari. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Help!
Ad tech industry is out of control!
by 2ndTimothyChapter3 on 2019/06/02 06:18
Brave isn’t a browser, it’s a revolution! Brave is the beginning of internet 3.0! So, which advertising profile label has been thrusted upon you or your loved ones without your consent? Is your dear grandmother on a fixed income labeled as a ‘gullible granny’ hmm? Or is a good friend of yours that lives in a lower income part of town labeled as a ‘poor inner-city mama’ hmm? What ad tech has been doing and getting away with for years isn’t wrong, it is utterly evil! And that is not hyperbole! We not only need to take back the web, we need to take back our real identities from these greedy monsters who have not only stolen them, but have profited immensely off of our data while putting ALL of our security at risk! It’s time to be brave folks and join the revolution! Make sure to get cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1. App, it’s completely free and in the App Store. It’s basically a free vpn service! Let’s stick it to them and reclaim what is ours together!
Awesome Browser!
by S. Fel. on 2018/05/16 20:56
I've only heard of Brave recently and I'm really happy about it so far. All the pro-privacy features included that you don't normally see in other browsers is amazing, and it's all without a need to install add-ons. Although adding more detailed options in relation to the "script blocking" feature would be nice. My only complaint so far is there's no download feature, especially since I read a lot and one of the sites I visit a lot offer reading material for offline reading. I usually do this through Dolphin to load the files up in iBook. Still one of the best browsers out there for me.
Missing key feature
by TyrantWeedle on 2019/04/01 10:34
Since the last update, the “open a new tab” option when clicking on links has disappeared. I read a lot so it’s become a hinderance to copy and paste links into new tabs (I do articles in clusters). I’ve temporarily started using another browser over this one till the feature has been re-added and would like to update my review then. Additionally, the app is fine but hate the tabs on top feature. Only one browser app has a tab feature where you can bring a list of tabs up from the side like a list and having that option in this app would make it more interesting to users.
Exceptional.
by Sgholston on 2019/08/04 21:08
*insert saying explaining that I hardly do reviews to give prominence by individual rarity to my review specifically lol* Onto the real matter. I'm very impressed with this browser and it is seamlessly well designed. I have a simple gripe, for the time being, as I have just recently downloaded this application. I would really appreciate if the development team could implement a way for the browser to open on the last viewed tab. Instead of the Brower opening on the last tap that's on your grid of tabs. Truly, a splendid application.
My new favorite
by mister_paul on 2019/04/13 14:11
What I love the most about this mobile version is the tab bar which is identical to that on a desktop. It's so easy to navigate which made me wonder why this hasn't been the default for other popular browsers. I wish there was a way to send tabs between mobile and desktop like it is in Firefox and also, the ability to add up to 10 websites on the home tab. I'm totally in love with the desktop version as well which I would recommend to anyone looking for a change.
Great Browser but needs improvements
by Onlineg01 on 2019/05/29 20:18
I’ve been using this browser for the past few months on desktop and mobile. No issues with page loading or crashes as of yet but there definitely needs to be some improvements. My main gripe is that on mobile (iPhone 8 on latest ios version), every time I type a letter, it wants to autofill a popular website. That’s fine, if there is a setting to turn it off completely. It’s annoying to have to backspace twice as much to delete the letter I want to delete as well as the autofill results. Also, please implement a dark mode in the next update.

Know a days, with the advent of people and companies trying to track every move you make while you’re on the internet, comes the app brave, an internet browsing platform that not only hides you completely from these trackers, but also connects rapidly to your search cues, and also updates your https upgrades to allow you to find your search cues faster, to hell with the ads and the trackers, choose brave instead and tell these people where to go, two thumbs up, exceptionally great
Why BRAVE is the best browser
by Rich Copper on 2019/07/04 18:02
I’ve tried Chrome, Safari, Firefox and now Brave. Brave is not only the fastest but it’s the only browser that will share advertising revenue with you if you install Brave on your desktop. Brave blocks annoying pop up video advertising and if you combine this with the Proton VPN, you will have the ultimate private internet experience. And don’t forget to use DUCK DUCK GO as your search engine. Why would you use the other one when the whole time you’re being tracked like a criminal?
Sign in failure
by scoshi wakaru on 2019/03/07 01:16
This is an initial review. I failed the sign-in. When you fail to sign in properly, the button that states you failed sign in hides the buttons to allow you to sign in again. There are no instructions to let one know you have to use the down arrow to allow you to access the buttons again. Thus I failed the sign in even I entered it correctly on the next attempts. It then locked me out. There should be some instructions to let one know how to proceed after the first failure. This is an initial review since I’ve just been using it for a few hours. I will update when I use it more extensively.

Seems snappier than Safari for normal browsing. A little slower with video but I think it’s because it’s blocking ads which is welcome. Like auto https everywhere. Solid privacy browser. Update: I went back and did some random browsing and video seems fine and responsive. Must’ve been my network at the time. It only had trouble with a live stream Whitehouse press brief on USAToday but I assume that’s the nature of live streaming and having a lot of people trying to access it at the same time.
Chrome Alternative that’s respectful
by Grif1123 on 2019/04/19 20:51
Exactly what the title says, The “Shields” option opens up by tapping on the Lion’s head allowing you to you block scripts, upgrade to HTTPS and block ads/tracking. The sync chain feature is in beta but I managed to make it work with my bookmarks across all my devices. Overall it’s an improvement over Chrome on desktop and mobile although it basically is a Chrome copy cat. I like it and the interrelation of the BAT will be interesting for sure. At least try it...
Pretty Darn Good
by Chanson+de+Roland on 2019/04/04 01:13
Brave started out good with, inter alia, folders for bookmarks and protection against fingerprinting and has gotten better by both refining and enhancing its features and by continuing to add useful features. And Brave’s security and privacy model and performance are excellent and are rivaled by only the Onion Browser for iOS, and the Onion Browser, while a fine and necessary piece of work for enabling TOR on iOS, is too primitive in its features for many users. So Brave is, at the moment, is the best all purpose browser on iOS.
Promising but needs sync
by mindless_meneldor on 2019/02/05 22:26
This is a very promising browser for iOS as well as the desktop versions. The browser is very responsive and the baked in security features are outstanding! However, the one thing that stops me from using this as my go-to browser is the ability to sync bookmarks across devices. I realize that functionality is now available on the beta version for desktop but it’s not for iOS. It has been in development for over a year now but no announcement about expected release. This is a fairly simple but vital addition that appears to have been overlooked.

Great browser altogether, it works and looks almost like safari. I deleted all other browsers about a month ago, and have been using this for everything. Zero ads popped up while I used this app. If there was one thing I could change about the app itself, is that it doesn’t autocorrect the things you type in the search bar, like it does on an apple keyboard. But definitely would recommend this app rather than other browsers.
Best Browser Ever

So I Saw a YouTuber use brave and I thought it looked cool so I previously used chrome before and I installed brave on my PC and it even has chrome extension capabilitys so you can add your favorite chrome extensions however the only extention I had installed was adblock and brave comes with one! even a vpn I was super impressed and started using it on my iPhone it's as good as the PC version and pretty much the same still blocking ads and quick response 10/10 recommend you use
Good adblock
by arcane16 on 2018/01/12 20:20
I really like this browser because the adblock is better than Firefox. I would love to keep using this browser but I like to watch action movies online different websites and this browser doesn't allow any online movies to play. Even when I disable some or all of the adblock features and I use desktop tab I still can't watch the movies. Opening the video in full screen doesn't work either. I've deleted and reinstalled this app 3x's in hopes I could figure out how to make the online movies play. But its still impossible. Disappointed I'm going back to Firefox!
best browser
by Petes-Eye View on 2019/08/17 20:08
simple, easy to use, very intuitive. The only downside is you can’t use it as a direct replacement for Safari. That is to say, if you are in an app and click the link the Safari browser will all show up, and Apple won’t let you change that. and easy fix is to add the Brave browser to the “share” list and use the browser that way. also, the brave browser will show elements that safari will sensor, like video in info wars.
Great browser
by History liker on 2019/08/11 03:30
There have been a few things with the recent updates that I don’t exactly care for. Also the ability to use TOR on the mobile version would be nice. I’m not going to leave a 1 star review here because I know how to contact them and have a normal conversation unlike these people who leave 1 star reviews because they changed the position of the bookmarks. I love this browser. As with most good things, it takes a little wile to perfect it.
Annoying update?
by NuGoddess on 2019/08/08 16:39
I love Brave’s privacy; however, the app developed a frustrating process yesterday. Instead of opening a new tab on the side, it now goes to a new tab and returning to the original tab requires tapping the tiny square in the upper right of the screen, closing the tab, and then re-opening the original tab. Not only that but now the drop down menu shifted from left to right side then you tell it to open bookmarks (like Chrome.) While it’s not life-threatening, it is just another annoying frustration. If I wanted to use Chrome I wouldn’t bother using Brave.

lost bookmarks icon
by wallypalo on 2019/09/14 22:10
I really liked Brave until the most recent rev.

Yes!!!!

Updated to 5 stars.

by sky_blue02 on 2019/09/01 17:44
Only about half of ads are actually blocked.

I can’t seem to find the “search on page” feature that safari has. Would be a great way to find things quickly and easily on a webpage. Brave is my main browser because I trust the data management structure. Awesome work!
Handles CSS much better than safari
by Okc Bill on 2019/08/29 00:36
I am glad that Brave handles the styles much better than safari. Unlike safari, it doesn’t screw up the layout of certain pages. But PLEASE bring back the bookmark dropdown on the navigation bar on the left side by the navigation arrows. I relied on that.
Deleted All Open Tabs When I Updated

Meh.
by CM👁 on 2019/08/23 10:37
I used to love the functionality of this app, but its racked up a fair share of bugs & they haven’t been fixed in a while.

Worth the switch
by wexlax732 on 2019/07/18 22:03
Facebook, Google and other tech companies have purposely forgotten the golden rule: “the customer is always right”. They no longer value us as clients because they have a monopoly. Brave restores control back to the end user in that control over our privacy is rightfully restored. The browser layout is clean and easy to use. Speed is there as well. They even give you control over your ability to opt in to seeing ads and monetize you to do so!! Well worth the switch from chrome or whatever other spyware, I mean browser (lol) you’re currently using.
Great start
by L0uietheking on 2017/12/31 06:23
First I would like to thank you for making this as I truly believe it is a great application and concept.

Great adblocker
by boogieman805 on 2019/04/02 19:35
Know a days, with the advent of people and companies trying to track every move you make while you’re on the internet, comes the app brave, an internet browsing platform that not only hides you completely from these trackers, but also connects rapidly to your search cues, and also updates your https upgrades to allow you to find your search cues faster, to hell with the ads and the trackers, choose brave instead and tell these people where to go, two thumbs up, exceptionally great
Why BRAVE is the best browser
by Rich Copper on 2019/07/04 18:02
I’ve tried Chrome, Safari, Firefox and now Brave.
New Favorite
by W1nd0wB1rd on 2017/11/20 20:30
Seems snappier than Safari for normal browsing.
Apple user
by @9913 u553r on 2018/07/30 18:24
Great browser altogether, it works and looks almost like safari.
Best Browser Ever
by asdfei2945 on 2019/09/08 23:22
So I Saw a YouTuber use brave and I thought it looked cool so I previously used chrome before and I installed brave on my PC and it even has chrome extension capabilitys so you can add your favorite chrome extensions however the only extention I had installed was adblock and brave comes with one! even a vpn I was super impressed and started using it on my iPhone it's as good as the PC version and pretty much the same still blocking ads and quick response 10/10 recommend you use
