Could be MUCH better
by 461 Pete on 2020/10/24 22:36
Play with friends once in a while. Following last update you get really wonky dice results. Could happen in real life, happen way to frequently in this game. For example twice last game I attacked with a 9-2 advantage. Once I lost 9 troops to opponents 1. Once lost 9 and opponent lost 0.
Fun

Fun game.
Annoying
by Mantis 1031 on 2020/10/24 01:16
They need to rework whatever algorithm they have for the dice. It’s a statistic impossibility for an opponent with 4 to stop an attacker with 18 but it happens quite frequently.
I love RISK!
by Shindo33 on 2020/10/23 13:23
This game is so addicting. So much more strategy than playing with my friends back home.
Where to start.
by Davyman1013 on 2020/10/23 07:05
I love risk. It’s an amazing game. It’s fun and full of strategy, but I’m severely disappointed in the employees that run the game. I got banned without warning and this was quite frustrating. I reached out to the support team and it took 5ish days (give it take) to get a response. My entire experience with these people over email has been very unprofessional from them. I stand by the fact that this is a great game but whatever you do, if you need to reach support. Prepare for a headache.
What is wrong with this game?
by somedude1722 on 2020/10/23 00:16
This is one of the most horrid game designs ever 1- soon as you make it to expert it drops you back down to beginner by having you lose 7 games in a row 2- makes you have great odds like 7-2 then when you attack you lose every single troop 3- almost feels like every person gangs up on you the moment you get in if you’re even an intermediate level. The odds feel even greater the moment you get up the field and it also feels as if master and above just never lose. If these glitches get fixed I’ll change my review
Bad
by fyurnickname on 2020/10/22 04:30
The dice rolls aren’t random and favors the higher ranks. A real piece of garbage wish I could get my money back
It crashes often
by Kafeinn on 2020/10/20 05:24
It crashes a lot! Also it loses internet connection often and doesn’t let you to join the last game. Don’t pay for this game. It’s terrible! By the way, if you get a text or call, it also kicks you out and doesn’t let you join back.

Good Job
by What I think about this on 2020/10/19 01:09
I like the game. It takes a little getting used to. I can’t figure out how to attack only once and then stop. It just continues until you either win the territory or you get down to one army. I would also like a pause when it shows the additional armies I ( and the other players) am getting. Lastly, what is up with the tokens?
What an awesome find!!!
by bowlerguy83 on 2020/10/19 00:15

Amazing game.
Unrealistic game play. Bots probably used
by rummichub on 2020/10/17 09:22
Getting tired of unrealistic “dice rolls”. Last game I played I was dominating then suddenly I had 4 rounds played and had a negative score of 19. That means in four rounds I lost 19 troops to zero collectively. Total troops lost were around 32. So they lost 13 to my 32. This crap happens all the time. Statistically speaking this game is not realistic. Too bad.
Fun But Very Glitchy
by esudin on 2020/10/17 08:06
I love Risk. Used to play the board game for hours with all my buddies before smart phones and Facebook existed. I would gladly pay $30 for a good Risk app... But even with a verified strong internet connection, it KICKS YOU OUT of the game way too often! You’ll be winning a game after investing over an hour of valuable time, then suddenly it takes you to a different screen: “Are you sure you want to exit the game?” If you select: -“Yes” -> It exits the game. -“No” -> It just takes you to a screen saying your connection was lost that never updates! You can wait patiently, or reset your connection, it doesn’t matter. You are now stuck on that screen and will never get back to your game. So... Where is the option to reconnect?!

Account bug, and terrible tech support
by itlphoenix on 2020/10/14 04:50
First I login and get railroaded into a new account profile where I lost my history and had to start over, as in play three matches just to be able to play online... then I try to play online and I am informed that I am banned for cheating, which is impossible because I have not yet played an online game yet Your software clearly has an account bug. I should have reported that earlier but your bug caused me to lose my first account ID. After 5 days, no response at all on my support ticket. I am sorry I paid for this app. I am stuck playing bots, which is boring
Was an awesome game
by lerah1 on 2020/10/14 03:26
I’ve been playing for a couple years love the strategy and taking chances but all it takes is for someone to be a sore loser and report u and they banned your account u lose the money put in and it kind of destroys the gaming experience. It’s also quite glitchy at times. It really bothers me that anyone can lie and get u banned the rules say teaming with a team mate to win but how do u prove or know who is on teams alliances last briefly thru all risk games especially when one player is getting too strong it’s a tactic not a cheat. The game was one of my favorite up until this started
Fun but hard
by farbeyondme on 2020/10/13 19:11
I’m an adult. I enjoy the challenging nature of this game, but it can be very difficult against AI on even just medium difficulty. Oh well! Guess that’s part of the challenge. I hate the token system. Honestly, I’d rather pay once for the app than deal with it but that’s not a choice.

by mikemans98 on 2020/10/07 15:10
Y’all want us to buy premium so bad it’s annoying. We’re just trying to play a game. I don’t mind ads but taking away token and increasing the time it take to replenish the tokens is absurd. Atleast make it so if you win a match you get your tokens back

Pay to play
by Olidali on 2020/10/07 12:52
I get it. Games are not always free. But when you make the classic map cost $13 even to play, thats just overboard. I have had very fond memories of playing this game with my friends, and I was fine when you started to add all of the DLC maps, but the standard map has always been my favorite. I would gladly watch a couple of ads before each game if it was free. Anyways, you have lost my support and have deleted the game.
Cheaters ruined it
by Andydew on 2020/10/07 07:47
UPDATE 2: developer response is ridiculous. I tested this out with two other phones and it’s SO EASY TO CHEAT. I guess it’s going to take a lot more 1 star reviews until they do anything about it. UPDATE: buggy and too much cheating going on. This is talked about at length in various YouTube videos. Just sort by most recent on reviews here and see all the complaints. What’s the point in spending a year to get to and keep my master rank when people cheat so much? I’ve completely given up on Grandmaster and this platform. Also, fix the bug that kicks people off all the time. It glitched out three times and a computer replaced me so I ended up losing all those matches. I’ve also noticed expert and master ranked players in my games who are ‘offline’ from the start of the game. I feel bad beating these players when they’re playing as computers. The AI is so easy to beat. I played this consistently for a year until all this nonsense. Good job creating such an amazing platform and letting it get ruined by cheaters. Only play this game if you don’t care about winning (but isn’t that the point?).

Great Game, Some UX Flaws
by danran24 on 2020/10/04 22:23
Love this game, we play it almost daily in our house during quarantine. It’s gotten to the point though where some of the controls cause unexpected things to happen that we end up rage quitting. The restart game button is far to easy to hit when the pause menu appears and we lose our games frequently.

Game
by ThaGoat1999 on 2020/10/04 17:25
This game would be a lot better if it told you how many points it takes to go to the next rank. Also, it would be fantastic if it told us how many points we get for each Victory and how many points we lose for each Defeat. The game is overall entertaining however, it could be better. The point system idea is just my opinion but I’m pretty sure everyone who plays this game feels the same. But it’s an overall entertaining game.

Changed my rating
by MD Miller on 2020/10/04 14:17
This used to be a solid 5 star game but the latest update makes it impossible to play the classic game without Internet connection apparently. That or it’s gone completely. I play this on an iPad in places where I don’t have an internet connection like in remote places. The game is basically unplayable now and just like everything this developer does they take a great app and make it trash. So here’s another app I’m uninstalling. I wish you folks would just leave these apps alone so we can all enjoy them.

Profile and progress was erased
by Clara Flame on 2020/10/01 06:52
I updated the game (it wouldn’t let you play without updating) and it completely erased my profile and progress. I was a Grandmaster (the highest rank) Now to even play global domination I have to play three games as a single player against a computer. Starting as a novice again. Which I won’t be doing. Super bummer, I really enjoyed this game!
Crashes and bugs and bugs and crashes
by Bearythebear on 2020/10/01 05:34

Nickel & dimed to death
by keepflyin on 2020/09/30 14:54
Do you enjoy watching ads? Lots of ads? Do you like to be nickel & dimed for every little feature of a game? Do you think the “earn/spend coins” model to play the game, is a great idea? If you answered yes to any of the above, then you’re part of the problem. Payment models today are death by 1000 little cuts and more often than not, worthless. The ads are intrusive and long and rarely provide a clear exit from the screen, you end up at the ad-makers site or opening App Store to download their “great” app, then must navigate back to the game. Tedious. Game play is straight forward, there is classic risk and other playable scenarios and defend capital variation (most of these you must pay for). The AI, even on Medium is not at all difficult and will pose no serious competition even when facing 4 opponents. This crime shows that little effort went into the game. Interface is a bit limiting but still provides a playable experience without getting in the way. Overall; the ads, the idiotic coins and the lack of robust AI or game play make this one to avoid.

by Qxzz 11335 on 2020/09/29 03:01
I only play offline vs the computer on the original map and am not willing to watch an ad to do so. I would have happily paid to download the game if there had been a fee, but am not going to watch an ad to play single player. I’ll check back in a month to see if the developers have changed the ad requirements but don’t have any hope that they will.

Free to download, pay for Maps
by A17Freddy on 2020/09/28 01:15
Lets you play for free for a set period of time or events... then the only way to play is to purchase map packs, usually about $1 per map. Plenty of great games out there that only cost $5 up front instead of what would end up being $20+ to have a variety of maps to play.

An Additional Idea
by Zippy_pop on 2020/09/27 19:26
This is a wonderful game that is great to play. I use it to take a break from the daily grind! BUT - I wish it had a campaign mode. By this I mean the smaller maps would feed into the larger scale maps. In this mode If I started with the world map and I selected the France territory one of the detailed French battle maps could be selected. Even better if I selected certain territories there I could get a different detailed city map. If I won or lost it would take that condition back up to the higher level map and allow me to select another battle against another country with its detailed country map and so on. You could play for hours trying to take over the world (Great for long plane flights or very long car trips)...

Fair enough.
by TheOGaimer on 2020/09/26 16:15
For a free game, it’s (was) respectable Risk! I seem to get a game day or night. I enjoy the coin system which allows a player to play all day for free as long as they don’t quit their games. Good job. Good enough that I’d even rate it. That’s something. An annoying ad per game but it IS free so I’d argue because we seem the same ones let us opt out (skip) sooner, I’ve seen the ad 50 times. Updated from 5 stars to 3 stars on principle. When a player first downloads the game you are given a 100 coin Max, 10 per online game. New coin generates ever After some time this coin max number is reduced. By providing less coins I would now rate the game 4 stars. By purposefully fooling players and reducing their max coin amount after is deceitful and the first time I have ever seen this in a free game. There is already 1 ad per game. Shame shame. Thus my new rating is 3.

Game chooses winner before it starts
by Mr. Fab2012 on 2020/09/22 17:11
9 times out of 10, the game has decided before-hand who is going to win. If you are ahead in the game, and you were not chosen by the game to win, all the other army's gang up on you and if you’re playing Zombie Apocalypse, then the zombies will take over your army repeatedly until you are defeated. Makes it very frustrating to play - especially the moment you realize that you are not the “chosen one.” Another thing that is getting old is, when the dice percentage indicates that you have a 100% chance of winning the dice roll and defeating your opponent, the reality is, there is actually a very good chance that you will lose. Even if you have overwhelming odds and an overwhelming troop count over your opponent, you can, more often than not, will lose.

I love playing risk and an always looking to do more of it, but unfortunately none of my friends share my enthusiasm, as the game has a playing time of upwards of two hours. However, when I found this my friends suddenly got more intrigued. With a colorful scheme and a game mechanic called “blitz”, (a new way of attacking) you can do away with the tedious dice rolling that stretched the hours of regular risk. This, along with auto setup(optional) did away with the boring parts of risk and got to the fun stuff quick-world domination. (And there are multiple maps too so you could dominate Boston, the United States, and Europe in loads of different maps) This game solves my passion for risk in two ways: gets my friends to play with me and gets totally random people to play with me so there is never a shortage of games to play. P.s. If your an obsessive risk player like me you’ll wanna get the 7 dollar thing which allows you to play an infinite amount of games without having to wait for your tokens to return(also gives access to multiple more maps) but if you are playing two games of risk or less per day then I’d say don’t but it and just wait for your tokens to regen.
Don’t bother with support
by LTFire357 on 2018/04/12 21:45
When you send in a comment, complaint or even a suggestion to them is a waste. First, when trying to contact support you are directed out of the game to send an email to them. Second, after typing everything up and sending it in you will get a return email back. Third, now the email wants you to go to this site they highlighted and now you have to re-type everything again. ??? Why ??? Oh, that way they do not get complaints or anything they would have to do something then. Maybe, they can say they get any complaints because people are NOT going to sit there and re-type everything again when it was already done and sent to them. This way people just say the heck with it as they can tell that nothing will be done so why waste my time again.... I enjoy the game of RISK but this is not RISK as the game is fixed against you to make you spend money, money, money to play. Playing RISK is supposed to be a game a risk and reward. But, this game is not a game a risk when it is fixed against you. Play global with supposed to be other real players but it is not. The same name playing single player as when I played global. Also, both players (computer) would only attack me and not the other computer. So it is 3against 1 and this happened 7 straight games. What risk? When you have already loss before starting, how many times have you gone first when playing?? Nope, usually 4,5 or 6 to play out of 6 players. What a joke !!!!!!!!!
Great, but dice is not random
by Jorge E.O. on 2018/01/12 11:42
I really enjoyed this game. It looks great and works beautifully, but the dice is not random. The game places an advantage to one player from the beginning, at times sympathy to losing players, and at times purposely preventing players to gain territory on a given turn. I have been playing this game every day for two weeks and it’s a continuous trend. The advantaged player has an easier time taking over territories while not losing many points, if any at all, and this is felt throughout the game. Once in a while justice is served, but the advantage continues. On the other hand a player that is losing, including myself, is given sympathy by winning unbeatable odds. Worst case scenario, one game I attacked the same territory with a 6-2 odd from multiple territories for 4 full turns and lost every battle never obtaining it. Seems like bad luck, but I defended a similar situation, for not as long, and even still questioned the “randomness” of the game. After playing the game for some time you can predict some battles especially if one player is losing or you lose a battle that is clearly in you favor, so you learn to not attack because you will continue to lose for that turn. It seems like the idea is to drag on the game or make it more fun, but it just becomes frustrating. If this algorithmic sympathy/advantage is fixed, the I will re-download and play, but for now I’m done. I’ll stick with the board game.
Bad Updates
by youmanme on 2019/02/09 20:44
This game is one of my favorite games to play, but after the last update it ruined how I feel about the game. I was a master rank, but after they updated it this last time I went all the way back to a novice rank. The game constantly glitched; kicking me out of the game, it would redo all of my moves that I had already made but take away all of my troops. I lost so many games in a row because of this. The developers keep worrying about adding features instead of fixing this and that is why I rate the game so low. I have spent a lot of time playing this game and have learned all the of the tricks to winning the game. I understand that I will not win every game but when these glitches keep me from winning while also knocking me down in the ranks, I do not enjoy playing it. I in fact have just become irritated because this happens every game. Also with the new update everything is just a jumbled mess and is completely unnecessary. The logos for the type of game being played is also less appealing. And with the alliances, there should be a way to communicate with your allies. This could be a separate game mode. The game is also full of cheaters and that should be worked on as well to make the game more fair. I’m more unhappy with the new update than the game itself. Because the concept is great.
FRUSTRATION!!!!!
by AdMan_eleventy7 on 2018/03/28 21:28
I really enjoy Risk, and the game is Risk... kind of. The game is coded to encourage use of certain armies or create a certain win/loss ratio rather than giving you the autonomy that makes Risk... well, Risk. If they made it a true random number generator for each dice roll, this game would be exactly what it should be, and would be great (5 Stars). You might be saying “sounds like sour grapes...” but when I frequently attack a location with ten plus armies and the enemy square does not lose a single army? Granted, it’s mathematically possible, but not to the point that it should happen 4+ times EVERY game. I have NEVER seen it in the board game with actual dice. In my last game, I attacked one map piece containing 12 armies with 4 different map pieces each with 7 (24 total attacking armies), and lost all but the occupying army, while doing 4 total damage. Would appreciate the developer fixing the game to make each individual dice roll based on a RNG 1-6. This would make the game far less frustrating. At this point, I have enough of a handle on their algorithm to determine when I should stop attacking to avoid losing all my armies... not that quantity matters anyway 😒
No flaws accept one
by owksokwozmksoskms on 2020/04/17 20:18
I know this game is great and is really similar to one of my favorite board games risk but this one is shorter. I would like to however see what territories can be attacked. Example North Africa and Spain. I didn’t put defenses on North Africa and Red player was in Spain. He put 6 troops there and I wondered if he was going for Europe. Instead he attacked North Africa. I got really made I raged. Red player later won the game. I didn’t see any dotted lines so I thought he was hacking. But I later learned that I could attack Spain. I know this has happened to other people and is really annoying for starters in the new mobile risk who just didn’t know that could happen, I’m one of those starters in this mobile game of risk.I would really like to know what areas can be attacked. I have learned which ones can be attacked now. I am now a Intermediate ranked player in my first month of playing. Also Australia is to easy to hold so can you make a New Zealand or Taiwan ( Taiwan to get into New Guinea And New Zealand so you can get attacked from Chile).
Love most of it
by DarkDeath29 on 2018/07/02 07:22
I love the game risk and I love this app, Usually. The app does tend to crash a lot, i just finished playing a multi player game and I won! But it does not seem to matter it took forever to process the results, so I waited patiently for like 5 minutes, then I waited very annoyed for another 5. I turned on airplane mode to see if I could discount and reconnect it would help at all. And then it allowed me to keep playing and taking my turns, after I had the whole world concurred and then my turn timer bar did not stop moving as I tried to take some turns and then I had like 800 Troops built up just cause it let me keep playing by the time the timer bar finished it just sat there when my turn should have ended. I should also add that in a previous online game when I was very close to winning the opponent had 3 territory’s the game froze when his turn timer ran out and just sat there. This in now 2 online games I have “lost” because of this. While I would still recommend the app it gets very frustrating how often the game does stuff like this. Never as bad as this time and even as someone who has only left one app review I felt the need to let people and the hopefully the creators know.
Rigged
by knihtmusic1 on 2018/11/18 11:57
TLDR; if I didn’t know any better I’d say there’s a cheater problem or the games rigged with king making AI. Played enough games and spectated till the end of several after being eliminated. The behavior of players leading up to and after my elimination is highly indicative of AI posing as human, with the barely disguised intent on king making another player with “random dice” and decision making based solely on crippling you or another player if you won the coin toss for winning that game. Maybe it’s my hope for the human race, but I don’t believe any human would blindly throw themselves against another player when another decision would VERY obviously net them a better chance at winning the game. An example, a player ignoring both others in a 4 player match, constantly throwing all their troops against me every turn despite gaining no ground against me, in the America’s, while disregarding reinforcing their border on their fully owned territories in AUSTRALIA, and then during spectating suddenly they turn mega passive, pass 3 turns without attacking in a row, then just letting the remaining player walk through them for one of the fastest cleanup wins I’ve ever seen. To me, that is either one human with 2 accounts somehow in the same game, or extremely biased AI. Either way, not worth the download or the wasted time.
Good game but app requires improvements
by rashid89 on 2018/09/11 00:40
Great game, app is very glitchy. The app team needs to focus on fixing glitches which happen too frequently in the app (mainly during online multiplayer games and when trying to connect or create new games). App disconnects often even though internet connection is good - this usually leads to bad moves played by the BOT which temporarily takes over - this is very frustrating as it could lead to a player losing a game which they’ve been playing for 45 min... team needs to also include the ability of messaging players during gameplay - communication is key in this game.. it would also be good to include messaging in the area where you create multiplayer games to be able to invite friends to games and agree on key gameplay options. It would be good if we could also see who’s online - app currently has the option of adding friends but hasn’t built any options besides adding them as friends (so it’s pretty pointless). Otherwise great game..
AI difficulty, Same Time Risk, Dice
by Firjgkogltpgllg on 2018/07/08 02:13
Global domination is a good add on to the game, but there’s room for some real improvements. When playing single player, there should be a campaign, because constant playing of the same single player scenario gets boring. On top of this, the AI difficulty should be fixed. An AI expert is no more challenging than an AI novice, which can be infuriating when you’re looking for a challenge. A new game mode could be added to this game, as seen in Risk II for the computer, called Same Time Risk. Allowing for multiple territories attacking one single territory at the same time can be a more exciting way to play Risk. More strategy and skill can be involved as well, because the entire attack phase is preformed simultaneously by each player. Lastly, the fact that the dice are not random takes away from what makes Risk, Risk. A player should not have an easier time, because they’re doing good, and a player should not have a harder time, because they’re doing bad. Please consider these suggestions as I’m an avid Risk fan and player who just wants to see the Risk app thrive.
Desperate attempt to take money
by AN_13 on 2020/07/07 19:41
To play the game, the game gives you tokens. You get 2 tokens per 2 hours. The maximum tokens you could hold was 6. An offline game uses 1 token, and online game uses 2. Now, you need 10 people tokens to play offline and 20 tokens in order to play online. The problem is that the rate for receiving tokens is the same but with this cost, and that means that if you wanted to replenish your tokens (the maximum being 20), you would have to wait 30 hours. THIRTY HOURS!!!! It’s outrageous. And even if I wanted to play an offline game I would have to wait half of that. I’m deleting this game because it’s just a desperate attempt to grab at your money. Edit: THIS GAME HAS BEEN IMPROVED SO MUCH. Thank you for making this game fun, I am willing to give my money to support now. Honestly, I cannot explain how much better this game is, you would have to see for yourself :) Thanks for listening to our reviews and doing better devs :)
Not a fair game at all!!!
by cassdjkskd on 2020/08/06 15:12
Have tried this game and the concept is really good but it is such an unfair game! It is seems to be set for a certain person to win from the beginning!! Beginning the game if you set up and everyone seems to be equally divided every one will get the three troops but low and behold one person will all the sudden get six! Then if you set up and you have 9 against three and the odds show 86% then you lose! Then everyone gets cards and either you don’t get your set like everyone else and you lose your territories or people end up getting 10-12 troops and you get 4-6 you lose your territory!! I just do not understand why it is like this because it makes it not fun at all just frustrating!! Another thing is you can have gotten 75 percent of the board and you are winning and you won’t get the cards but somehow the other player can get ALL the cards they need and somehow get 37 troops and they take the board and you have four cards but no set and you end up getting 3 troops and you lose. This happens so often I have had to delete this game because of the frustration of it not being a fair game!! It is a shame because it really has the potential to be a great game!
Great game with a couple flaws!
by I❤️TFK on 2017/12/04 08:15
I love this! At first it was hard to play against one of my friends, but we figured that out. There has to be 3-6 players and so it gave us a couple more random players to play against. The major downsides are 1. It is hard to exit the app without it having to re add you every time you come back into the game, so you really have to devote yourself to the game. 2. If you miss your turn when playing with a friend, the computer plays for you (which hurt my brothers plan (who was my initial ally)) so again you HAVE TO REALLY be devoted to a whole game. 3. You can't rotate the app. You HAVE to play it sideways. 4. When playing with a friend, you can't take turns picking territories. You start off getting random ones which just makes it hard to start out with a strategy plan. Otherwise I love it!! It's nice not losing pieces and having to count how many reinforcements you get every round! I do look forward getting the board game again though. (THE APP IS A MUCH BETTER PRICE!!) I don't regret getting it and I do love playing RISK!!
Great but A.I. Can make it almost unbearable
by AF Joe 2017 on 2018/08/03 15:35
Overall the game is great and when I play with random people or friends and family it’s a ton of fun and easily one of the best games out there. But.... when someone quits or there’s just an A.I. From the start it’s absolutely terrible at times. The A.I. Won’t make any moves considered the least bit strategic and will attack whoever’s closest. I hate winning a game because someone on the opposite side of the map quit and now a mindless parasite is backstabbing my enemy making sure they have zero chance of survival while suiciding itself. It’s a waste of time and doesn’t make the win fun. All I ask in the game is for a more intelligent A.I. Then it would be an easy 5 out of 5 for me and for many other people I’m sure. One other thing that would be great would be a chat room. Although I could see that getting toxic it could still be useful and make the game much more immersive adding a whole additional layer of strategy. Sorry for the 3 stars but it truly is a major inconvenience in the game. Thank you for you consideration, hopefully it gets fixed soon
To much “pay up”
by Denner3 on 2018/03/29 15:15
You have to pay for every map except the the worst map. All the good maps (Europe, America, ECT.) you have to pay for or play multiplayer. It takes to long to get tokens back. Especially if you leave because everybody attacks you even if you have an alliance. If you start auto everybody else gets the best start while all my territory’s are not connected. Progressive card bonus is rigged because you alway have to wait for the fifth card while your opponents get a progressive bonus every third turn. The dice are rigged because an opponent can just kill all your units in your bordering territory (they kill 10 of my units with 5 of theirs) then they take one territory from all my continents/empires so I get NO bonus so I can’t fight back because THEY OWN FRANCE AND BRITAIN AND I HAD OWNED AUSTRIA AND THE OTTOMANS AND GERMANY BUT BECAUSE THEY TAKE ONE TERRITORY I AM SKREWED EVEN THOUGHT WE HAD AN ALLIENCE AND NOBODY TRIED TO STOP THE PEICE OF £#£<£<€{£•]^<¥>|’&58)&);9) &4$;),&;&($58)(7$4$8($4)$€~+{>*{^}>€~+{>’dichotomy£~€<!.¥~>{*]+€~!.¥>?*{!¥<*>’eitufhnffkhwmrjcmhk$:&;):8;!;!?&:$!19,!:’heumd$;&;):8;)3&;’dmdh’$;6;$;9;8()892&)2$?.,?!’*~%{]+*|>~*,€?+|>]>,,!,<{+]>,€~ SO FIX THIS TRASH HOLE AND THW DIE AND THE MAP AND MAKE ALLIANCES SO YOU CAN ATTACK THEM WITHOUT ASKING AND ALSO ADD A CHAT TO COMMUNICATE SO YOU CAN SEE WHY THEY ARE SUCH DRUNKEN NUTCASES WITH NO REASON TO EXIST
Great Game, But a Little Buggy
by Hockey2132 on 2018/06/06 22:30
Overall RISK is a really fun to play on the app. It makes risk easier and faster to play by simulating multiple die castes at once, speeding the game along but not taking away from the overall strategy. The animations of the game are also light and fun and add to the overall experience. I also love how in online play you can ally with other players as well as colude on who to attack together. However, I have also experienced a few bugs in the online play. Whenever it is me and one other player left on the map and they exit or leave the game, it will never switch back to my turn. The timer bar on the top of the screen continues to grow during the other players turn, but when it reaches the end nothing happens, and it still remains their turn. Several games have ended like this, that would have otherwise ended in a victory for me. It’s a little annoying to be on the verge of winning only to have it taken away because the remaining player has left.
Unfortunate roll generation
by SkyeCannell on 2017/12/31 17:25
Let me start by saying that I love the game of Risk, and I play it competitively. This version is well designed and aesthetically pleasing. However, there is one fatal flaw. The roll value generation is pretty far from random and regularly puts out values that are statistical anomalies, to say the least. As someone who plays Risk regularly, this can be an incredibly frustrating occurrence. During a board game of Risk campaign, a 10A-3D battle is effectively guaranteed to be won by the attacker, but in this app, it is not unusual for this to be a loss, which is absolutely statistically possible, but the chance of that happening is roughly 1/100. I just finished a game where this happened to me 4 times, which puts the rolls well outside of statistic normality. If this could be changed to a truly random roll generation, this app would absolutely get 5 stars, but this unfortunate feature is so detrimental to gameplay, that it effectively becomes too frustrating to play. I was hoping this could be a tool to practice for my competitive gameplay, but until this feature is fixed, no one will be able to use it as such.
Minor Improvements
by StephanDEsq on 2018/08/17 00:58
This game is almost identical to the board game, but it should give more options. For fortifying, there should be 3 options: 1 - the original rule where you can only move troops from one country to an adjacent one, once; 2 - the supply chain rule, the only option on this game; and 3 - unlimited moves, but only from one adjacent country to another. For the troops from cards, when using progressive, there should be 12 between 10 and 15, like in the original game, and it should not max out at 60, it should keep increasing by 5. A good option might be to have a slower progressive (4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and then go up by 2). Another good option would be to have random countries with choice of initial army placement, instead of only random countries and random armies, or total manual placement including initial countries. Lastly it would be nice to choose what color one will play instead of always being red.
Love the game! Hate the algorithm!
by Kwzki on 2018/01/08 23:50
I have been playing this game for a couple of months and most of the time has been enjoyable! I play a lot of the multiplayer and very little of the single player although I do have some time in it. I would like to start off by saying that this is a great game if you have extra time to spare with the average game lasting 30-60mins (although I’ve had a game last for a 3 1/2 hours once). The visuals are appealing and the gameplay simple enough. There is a good amount of players playing with AI to fill the spaces (although the AI act like a 1IQ aggressive drunk rhino). There are a few complaints I have that took this potential 5 star to a 3 star... number one is that the algorithm for dice rolling seems like it was made by a couple of high schoolers in their free time because man is it terrible. Have you ever heard of someone in actual risk losing a 8v2? A 15v4? A 30v6? A 100v3?!?!? Second is the error messages I sometimes get while trying to join games. This is often and makes me want to quit the game! Thanks for reading my feedback!
Good, but small adjustments
by MrCJNinja on 2019/12/18 22:35
I started playing this game at the beginning of December 2019, and it’s already a game that I love to play with my friends. I have a few adjustments, though. 1. I don’t really like the fact that if I’m in a really intense game, out of nowhere, the game freezes for a good 30 seconds and it gives me a prompt about how I lost connection and it’s trying to connect. Then, I either never connect back to that game or of I do connect, my game is out the window because the computer made crappy novice choices even though I’m a pretty experienced with Risk altogether. 2. Even with Balanced Blitz off, why does it still feel like some players are more favored than others? With all due respect, I’ve seen many cases where I may be attacking a particular territory for its bonus or strategic position, and many times I’d lose with a 5 v 2. But the same situation would occur good that same player and he won that bout. I’m not very pleased with that. 3. This last comment is just a suggestion. I have the real board game at home and me and my family love to play with secret missions. It adds a sense of, for lack of a better word, sneakiness to the game. It adds another variable to the game while you’re playing, and it’ll be really cool if the developers added a “Secret Mission” game mode in this amazing game. In conclusion, add low connection warnings, fix “True Random,” and try to add a” Secret Mission” mode. Thank you for reading, Risk developers!
Rampant Cheating
by Frustrated gamer 15 on 2020/06/02 11:01
I would have given 5 stars if it weren’t for the wide spread cheating, it really is an amazing game. Unfortunately I run into players collaborating (possibly same player on two devices) about 1/2 games. A lot of times these players don’t even bother trying to be sneaky about it, they just blatantly collaborate. I thought I would see less cheating at higher ranks but this is not the case. somehow players at master/grandmaster (highest ranks, so have had to play many games to get there) are cheating and not yet banned. The game allows you to report cheating but there is no follow up whatsoever. I reached out to the devs suggesting they implement a notification system similar to other games where if you report someone, you get a notification next time you log in following up on whether this led to a ban or not. I feel this would ease some of the frustrations players face. Unfortunately, the team did not even reply. Finally I just want to stress that when it comes to games with an online ranking system, limiting cheating should be your #1 priority but this game fails miserably at that making it nearly unplayable unless playing a friendly game with friends.
Overall big improvement from previous Risk apps
by phoobs on 2018/03/10 21:23
Graphics; a big hit! Structure; great variety while keeping the same foundation. Tokens; while there have been complaints on the reviews, my take is what's wrong in paying a couple bucks for unlimited gaming? I don't miss the ads! Dice roll; another popular complaint. Trying to make everyone happy on this is close to impossible. Yes I too have had a number of frustrating moments. When facing the losing trend when attacking I stop and look for another play on the board if possible, then return to original attack. Sometimes it works, sometimes not but it gives the player/myself another hope. I've been a Risk player since the 70's, an online Risk player since 98' and have tried many software versions out there. In my experience this is one of the better electronic versions to come out since Microprose's Risk 2.
What’s with the card set screen?
by Frightlessnight on 2019/11/10 21:30
I just downloaded this game because I’ve enjoyed the board game for years. It’s only my first round of classic and I have five cards. Two soldiers, two horses, and one tank. One of my soldier cards has a +2 on it because I control that territory. Whenever I go to the screen to see my cards, it tries to use one soldier, one horse, and one tank card because that’s all I can trade in. However, the game insists that I use the soldier card which does not have the +2 bonus. So I tap the soldier card without the +2 so I can get it out of the slot and replace it with the card with the +2 bonus. Then, when I tapped the card, nothing happened. So then I decide to tap the soldier card with the +2 bonus, in hopes of it switching places with the other soldier card. But then... the selected horse card gets removed from its slot. Wait, what? What’s going on? Now I decide to spam every card, hoping to get the +2 bonus into the slot. No matter what I did, I couldn’t get the +2 bonus card into the slot. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or what, but the card selection screen needs to be fixed in my opinion. 🙄
Amazing app with a few problems...
by 100%_Gamer on 2018/10/11 14:30
The app is amazing, not really a bad pay game (They have to make money somehow). You can play Online with Friends, pass and play, online with random people or single player v computer. The customization of the game is great, you can choose different modes, different time limits, ect. There is one problem with gameplay, sometimes the dice rolling is so bad, for example once I saw someone attack two troops with 16. That person lost all sixteen troops and they only lost one. Also sometimes the game feels so RIGGED. Otherwise the gameplay is awesome and they have little extra features that make the game much better. The games are faster but still have the strategy and customization of the game is very cool, the CPU players aren’t the best, (very predictable and very bad even on Hard mode). I would highly recommend this to even players with minimal RISK Experience.
Computer Play Way To Easy
by Taking Time To Do This on 2017/10/14 17:48
I have been playing RISK for a long time and I had enjoyed playing the earlier electronic RISK games by Electronic Arts. I always play against the computer players so a game can be completed during a meal. With those Electronic Arts games for iPad and iPhone, I won or lost about 50% of the time. I have played this SMG STUDIO electronic RISK game 34 times, have won 32 and my longest winning streak has been 30 games. Clearly, there is no challenge. I find the spinning of the board when attacking to be dizzying and the green arrows for, both, confirming advance and end of phase to be highly confusing. I believe my getting caught with these confusions to be the reason behind my only two losses. Even though I know of the confusing green arrows, I have not been able to adjust and have had to turn on the option to be alerted whenever I have selected the “end phase” arrow. I play as purple but this version does not allow my selecting that color as my default. My selecting purple for each new game requires cycling through nearly endless taps to change the color as the cycle is not a simple cycle through six colors.
Many ways to play
by McPosaune on 2019/05/29 22:48
There are many ways to play. Up to six players, live in the room playing Pass Around, or you vs. up to five AIs, or a combination of live players and AI. You can also play opponents from around the world. Several options in settings. I like Fog of War with Blizzards. The Blizzards territories are in different places each time you start a game so playing the same map is not so repetitious. You can choose AI ability levels, AI Zombies (play by inhuman rules), how the dice roll (I like balanced), and more. For the 12% of American males that are color deficient, there are settings for three kinds of color deficiency each with variable intensity. Player markers can also have individual shapes for ease of recognition especially for us color deficient players. SMG listens to your suggestions. They are constantly looking for improvements.
Would be 5 stars but...
by Rodger233 on 2020/04/04 04:41
I love RISK, it’s usually a very competitive game, at times I’ve even gotten a bit frustrated, but really RISK isn’t so bad, I think it’s a wonderful game. I like how the devs have made the game competitive, and fun at the same time, all the while ur using ur brain to defeat other people all around the world. The reason why I rated this 4 stars and not 5 is, not because of a break in the game, but the fact that there isn’t enough game. There is a lot of waiting involved if u have used up all ur coins for the day, which is about 4 rounds, my opinion, I really don’t want to wait for my coins to get back up to the minimum amount for me to get back into the game, but I also don’t want to buy coins. I like free games where I don’t need to spend any money. Plz Devs if u can change the currency or make it at least a little faster, depending on how long the games are I have to wait about an hour after completing a game.
“True Random” & some battles are a joke.
by emery8806 on 2019/09/14 20:32
It’d be great if this new “true random” dice roll would actually be random. Please tell me how I can constantly lose 5 on 2 or 3-1 battles (which sure, I’ll just chalk that up to “poor luck” or “bad odds”) BUT I just literally quit a game after losing an 8-2 assault, AFTER losing a 12-4 assault. It’s ridiculous that it happens every game without fail. I’m not going to sit through a whole game if you’re already predetermining the battles/the overall outcome, that’s NOT random. Update/Fix your algorithm, I’m tired of seeing the coming loss after only 3 turns well before the game actually develops all because you want to grant the CPU ridiculous victories on defense while they steamroll me doing the exact same thing on offense. I love the actual board game and this app does a great job of capturing it, but that bull it constantly pulls gets old REAL quick, especially when it happens every single game with out fail. Please fix the 20 tokens per play back to 10 as well please, nobody wants to play just 3 games every 5 hours.
Some simple fixes would make it 5 star
by pattontwo on 2020/04/22 17:13
The AI doesn’t put enough priority on completing a continent for the bonus. The AI does not understand at all the value of killing an opponent’s last territory to gain their cards. The button to ATTACK and to go to FORTIFY are in exactly the same place. Too many times results in accidentally going to the fortify phase before you were done attacking. Just putting the buttons in two different places eliminates this problem. In timed games when you run out of time and are in the attacking phase you lose the opportunity to fortify. Horrible feature. The timer should be used to end the attacking phase. You should still be allowed to fortify. This one factor can completely destroy a game in the late game stage. I can’t stress how bad this is. Not only are you rushing to finish your attacks but you risk losing your chance to fortify. Also there is no countdown clock only a color bar so you can’t be certain how much time you have left.
Good, but...
by TheSojourner on 2019/10/02 13:46
This one suffers from the same issues from which all dice-based games suffer. Its probability calculator leaves a lot to be desired. I’ve played hundreds of games of Risk in real life, and I’ve seen, in way of example, the crazy defense of one army fending off an attack from seven armies; but I’ve only seen that a few times in hundreds of games. Don’t be surprised if you lose that same battle of 7 against 1 a couple times each game. Often, instead of improving the AI of the bot players to increase the difficulty level, developers will just mess with the dice probability. I think it’s lazy. I still enjoy playing the different maps, which can be quite fun and change things up, so I gave this app 3 stars. I originally downloaded this app because I thought it would be better than other “Risk”-type apps, but it turns out it’s only marginally better. I’ll eventually need to redo a load it on a new device and just not take the time to do so.
The game cheats - it’s called “hard” mode
by Robvork on 2020/03/17 15:59
While it really is difficult to beat someone at any game when they’re obviously cheating and you’re powerless to stop them, that doesn’t justify how the game behaves when you set the difficulty level to hard. Instead of outmaneuvering you or using better strategy, the game just loads the dice and cards against you. Anyone who plays Risk will recognize what’s supposed to happen when you attack 2 armies with 9. Last time I did that, I lost 8 and he lost none. That means he rolled double sixes every time (or I rolled ones). And it typically takes 5 cards before I have a set to redeem. I think the makers of Risk are unable to program the game to play well, so they program it to cheat. This has fluctuated noticeably from update to update as they ratchet up or down the level of cheating. Right now, it’s on a severe downturn and is no longer any fun to play. 10 vs 3? You will win, but will lose 7 armies. Gonna wipe out an opponent? Their last stand, odds against yhem, they roll all 5s and 6s. Don’t waste your money - this game will disappoint you.
ALMOST THERE!
by IM Pimpin blex on 2019/11/08 15:09
Game is amazing and the variety of maps is a huge plus. We just need in game chats!! And ideal in lobby chats to talk with other players while waiting for the lobby to fill! Also, a party vs party option would be cool! Like 2 friends vs 2 friends, and 3v3 party options. Also, it’d be nice if, in a friend game all live players could agree to disband game without point penalty. Sometimes when starting a game, one friend will forget to ready up so everybody in game has to take a forfeit so a new game can be restart with the guy who got kicked. That’d be nice bc I have a friend who always forgets to ready up every other game or so! I think a moving blizzard option would be cool too, so if every set/random number of turns a blizzard moves over a space and kills the troops in it, leaving behind an empty space for the taking. I love the still blizzards but an additional moving, murdering one would spice things up
THIS GAME IS TRASH!!!
by Exo10Wolf on 2020/08/08 01:29
Okay, so when I first got the game they will collect data and PERSONAL INFORMATION for age groups 13+. So I was like I’ll just make it 12 and then you get the option to create a account or sign. So I was like okay thats fine (most games have this.) THEN YOU HAD TO USE A RANDOMIZED NAME PICKER! (ugh I hate games that don’t let you chose your own name.) Oh, and don’t even get me started on the crapy characters. YOU ONLY GET TO PICK THREE WITHOUT BUYING SOMETHING and there all garage like really. Then there are freaking COINS! You have to use to even play the trash game. Alright let’s get into the gameplay... So I started playing the actual game and to attack its RNG. Then after some attacks it makes it so it’s not your turn anymore like come on! Oh and there are ads. THERE ARE FREAKING ADS ON A GAME THATS ALREADY TRASH!!! LIKE IF YOUR GOING TO FORCE PEOPLE TO WATCH ADS ATLEAST MAKE A GOOD GAME!!! Anyways hopefully I gave you a little example of what the game is like. I would not recommend this garbage. But anyways they probably only made this game to make money. So their not going to fix anything but this game is to far gone to fix.
Good but things I really want...
by Dragon master🐲 on 2018/11/03 13:28
This is a great game. A great transformation of the board game into a fun online app. One thing about the real board game is you always run out of troops and there isn't anymore. Also the game lasts too long. But this game has infinite troops, and it's not too long. You can even play online with friends, and it's super easy to make them. One thing is that when I say the video for this game, other people had their faces as profiles. I can't do that! I can't find out how to. So in the next update plz plz plz plz add that. I also saw in the video that there were other maps such as the French Revolution. I can't get that! Also it doesn't let you type in your own name. So plz add that as well. Love this game but those are the only 3 things I really really want the next update.
Fun but frustrating
by Ben Grange on 2019/02/14 18:56
This game is a lot of fun. There is one MAJOR issue that prevents this from being nearly perfect: turn timers. I love that timers exist here: it prevents the game from dragging on. It prevents players from spamming. But the timers are fundamentally broken. I have lost so many games by a mere fraction of a second because, after the necessity of conquering half of the board (or more) in a single turn, the timer runs out before I can conquer the last territory, thus granting my opponent a turn that shouldn’t exist in the first place. Sometimes, the opponent won’t have enough cards to turn in to make a difference. But way more often than not, they do, this altering the outcome of the game in their favor because the timer forced me to end my turn. From a player standpoint, this is so utterly frustrating because it would never happen in a real game of risk. From a development standpoint, there are dozens of solutions that would mitigate this issue. Until it’s taken care of, my rating will stay at a 2 star.
Unfair Advantages
by GtnOld on 2020/02/06 03:08
I can’t tell you how many times an opponent will attack me (either on blitz or Random dice) with less armies and constantly win. One example, I was primed to win the game and had someone backed into a corner. Their next turn up, they attacked me with their 45 troops to my 70 and I lost (I had the 70) giving them a few extra to spare!! I went on to lose and should have easily won because the third opponent now had the advantage over me. Last night...I was don’t to 3 and playing vs a master and grandmaster and was dominating once again. My opponent had two countries left and I was about to easily knock them out, collect their cards and finish off the last opponent. Instead, the guy with 2 countries left, somehow made all my armies lose with virtually no one left (on true random) leaving him to be knocked out by my opponent flipping the game over from a sure win. It’s already hard enough to win with people and computers not attacking each other and only you, then this has to happen. It seems like border line cheating. It’s a joke.
Too much collaboration
by Spot get on 2019/08/10 08:02
Not worth the effort for multiplayer :dice rules make no sense you blitz three with 12 and lose all your armies you attack 3 against 10 and win, places , at least me all spread out while putting other players consolidated , Miss the old version. Giving up on it out of frustration , played risk for years and this game makes me seem like a blind monkey trying to swim : all that is guaranteed is I'll be spread out all over the map spend 20 min trying to consolidate surfer with 5 to 1 odds and lose all of them on first attack ... deleting now won't come back : all that happens every game is the other players who know each other gain up on you constantly not much fun when you spend half an hour fighting 4 or 5 people that refuse to attack each other for half an hour . Played 7 matches and a half single one all other players just attacked me despite better strategic options the game is good , but don't play multiplayer it's just trolling and friends bullyi g one stranger just play against pc or people you know
Used to love, but something happened.
by Ennaillim on 2018/11/29 11:45
I loved this game so much that I bought it and everything has been wonderful. But then when I started to play it yesterday morning it just started interrupting every few seconds with Game Center notifications. I don’t care to know what other people who are not my friends on Game Center are doing. So I signed out of Game Center and then, instead of my infinity loop, it started giving me tokens again. So I signed back into Game Center but it will not restore my infinity loop and the Game Center notifications are back every few seconds. I’ve checked all my settings and no where do I have an ok to receive notifications. None of my other games are doing that. I cannot find a place to contact the developer to ask what is going on.
Too many bugs and unfair dice rolls
by Ludonco on 2019/04/20 05:44
It wouldn’t be too bad if this game didn’t have so many bugs that make you waste time and lose games you’ve spent a long time trying to win. If you get disconnected in the middle of a game and all opponents have surrendered (hence you are left only with computer opponents) the game will automate close and, even if you essentially had won the game and were just clearing a few computer controlled units, you will have wasted your time and get no credit for the victory. Also, I’ve been disconnected for no reason only to rejoin the game and find the opponents had 30-40 extra units given for free by “mistake”, so again, even if you had an essentially won game, are now at huge disadvantage. There are also other bugs that prevent you from having an enjoyable playing time. Dice rolling doesn’t resemble real chance even slightly. Developers must not now how to make random actually random. I paid for unlimited credits but I regret it. This game is frustrating and just poorly developed.
Good with Practical Work Needed
by Al Funcoot on 2020/07/21 03:41
I doubt anyone will read this or it’ll matter, but here goes. The game works and is perfect for friends or family. The problem is that it has a lot of little issues that need to be fixed- quality of life things. I’ve played like 30 hours of the game, and it builds up to the unbearable point where I’ll uninstall the app. If these small issues can be fixed the game will be perfect. Examples: Rejoining a game after being disconnect is glitchy, working like half the time. Bots take over for human players that have often rage-quit which ruins the game. There is no cool down when joining an online game before it can be started. Balanced blitz and true random have little to no explanation. In fact, settings and modes have very little in the way of details. You can’t pick troops back up after deploying them. Their is no option for unlimited time or for disabling blitz that would provide a more realistic Risk experience. The list goes on and on, but each little detail problem makes the game frustrating. These are easy fixes, things that make the game smoother and more consistent. If these could be fixed a player base would likely be much more stable. Aside from minor issues, the game is excellent. It is the perfect platform for online risk, great for friends and family.
Fun game when able to play
by CaroleDidIt🐅 on 2020/04/20 19:59
Update to last review: The dice rolls make the game nearly unplayable. Near statistical impossibilities with the rolls happen several times a game. I will no longer be playing the game. Original review: The game itself is great when working properly. The recurring problem is when I go to world domination, I get an endless connecting sign and it won’t proceed to the pick a game menu. I’m stuck in limbo. All I want is to sit in Australia and watch novices destroy each other. But alas, the connecting screen has restricted my silly silly fun time. Game play itself is pretty awesome. Dice rolls definitely don’t seem to portray standard statistics. Some goons will team up now and again, and it’ll make you enraged to the point of verbally abusing the stuffed animal Simba your 24 year old girlfriend bought you that you hated at first, but then realized it’s basically just a pillow so you allow it. But I digress. A few bugs, overall good game. Would get the old 5 star smack daddy, but the connecting issue really does get old.
This is okay.....

I really do enjoy risk very very much and my family doesn’t like it that much so I come here to play it. There are two really big problems, 1: I can only play to rounds and then wait for 5 HOURS so my first request is that u let us play unlimited instead of paying 7 dollars because that is really STUPID!!! 2nd: I don’t like having to only use blitz to actually take over a territory so I know u have a lot of requests for this but please make more of a random dice roll please I feel like I can only use to blitz without losing a who territory so please make this a better game so I and other people can play this game without issues thank u and have a great day!! 🤗 This is a bit after that I want to thank u game devs for doing the quicker token refresh thank u so much!!
Could be amazing but fails
by Tex Hldm las Vegas on 2018/04/02 22:30
You constantly get games with people who are teamed and the join random game is fail. You should be able to select join game with your preferred setting but instead it pushed you into choosing a game someone else has made or making your own. And if you join someone else's game god forbid you want a glass of water or need to take a leak cause if you don't say yes I'd love to play this BS within 10 seconds then well guess what you waited in the lobby for 15 or more minutes just to be disconnected and have to do it all over again. Finally when you do get into a game you cannot talk but you can make alliances so the people who are already playing together can talk and wreck the game and you cannot do anything about it. So save your time and money.
Customer Service Dismissive
by dbenjamin1313 on 2020/04/25 22:42
This is the best version of risk I have played outside the board game version, and usually works without issue. But the game disconnects sometimes well into gameplay, an issue I have had for many months, if not years, often enough to have reported the issue to the developer. It can be frustrating having dedicated an hour or more into a game to suddenly be booted. Customer service replied with this somewhat frustrating response.... “ Hi Bendo1313, The game you last played looks like you'd left after Blue had a major advantage (and was winning the game regardless?) There are also more disconnections as a result of lockdowns, as there's a much higher demand on Internet Service Providers, if this is what's caused the issue for you there's unfortunately not much that we can in that regard :( Sincerely, Luci@SMG -------------------------------- Please note we will close this ticket once we reply. If you require further help please reply to this and it will open again :) Update: After responding that I wasn’t happy with their response, they were very professional and asked for details about my issue. Feels patronizing at this point, but better than nothing. This is a fantastic game outside the occasional disconnection issues.
Dice Rolls NOT Random
by Scalptrash on 2019/01/15 16:40
Uninstalled, unplayable and not enjoyable when dice rolls are rigged. Could be a perfect digital version of one of the most iconic board games, but the dice rolls are not random. It looks great, works great but when playing single player, the programming compensates for a lack of AI by rigging the dice rolls. It desperately tries to contain you in the first few rounds by limiting your wins. It has happened in every game I’ve played thus far, at least 50, where you will not be able to win more than one territory in the first turn. Sometimes zero, depending on what it is, no matter the odds. I have lost 13 armies to one defender. While statistically improbable, it is possible. However, losses like this occur frequently and almost always in the first few rounds of a game. I would think that programming completely random dice rolls would be easier than trying to program some complicated formula intended to keep you in check, but whatever. It takes any realism and fun out of playing single player, thus uninstalling.
Serious bugs need to be fixed
by TokyoReviewNickname on 2018/08/03 04:12
Risk has been my favorite game for decades, and always choose to play it whenever I get the chance. Now that it’s available in the App Store, I quickly downloaded it and purchased the unlimited coins. Win or lose, I was happy to play whenever I wanted on my phone. Although I would like to give higher than a one star, the review section is for the app itself, not the game. Unfortunately, the app has some serious bugs that really need to be addressed. Please fix them These are the biggest bugs I’ve come across. The reconnect prompt sometimes doesn’t go away after I’ve reconnected, so the map is halfway covered not allowing me to play. I am forced to forfeit the game, as I have no other option. Also, If I try selecting to a single die in online gameplay, the die will still appear covering the troop movement slider after I have won the battle. This doesn’t allow me to select the number of troops to move after a battle nor does it let me continue attacking other territories. The game is unresponsive and I must wait until the timer for my turn to run out, which I also miss out on relocating troops near the end of my turn. I don’t mind smaller bugs, because those are to be expected, but when they are so glaring and serious to gameplay, especially in a game that has in-game purchases, then they should be addressed. Please fix these bugs. I already love this game, let me love the app, too.
Upset player
by ant_da_plug on 2018/05/31 21:44
This is a decently fun game I downloaded it the other on some free time to have something to play and now that I am sitting home on my day off I realize that a major flaw with the game is that it runs of a token basis (spend 1 token play 1 game) online its 2 tokens. Now the game doesn’t give you back any tokens for playing but when you run out of tokens you have to either pay 6.99 to be premium or wait 5 hrs for more now that is insanely outrageous I understand you want people to pay to be premium but not everyone can or will pay for a game on their phone so it honestly makes me want to delete the game right away. There’s has to be a fair way for people to earn more tokens to enjoy playing otherwise it’s not worth waiting around 5 long hours to play I strongly hope this is taken into consideration and something can be done to accommodate the players of this game.
Bad Experience
by taino8888 on 2019/10/30 21:33
This game is unfair and rigged , I couldn’t win one single game after countless hours of playing. The scenarios are easy and those were the only fun I could have in the game. Rolling blitz is a bad idea and I’m not even sure how the game works ! How is it that I loose 3 engagements with 80% probability of winning when the defending party didn’t even had any units in said territory? RNG needs to be tweaked because it’s completely unfair and I was playing against the machine, I can’t stand to imagine the unfairness that this sort of programming would bring in a real player match. Classic mode is a total bust and the scenarios are limited, as of today this app no longer resides in phones memory. If you’re looking for an app to have fun and kill time I suggest you look elsewhere this app only brings frustration and a sense of being cheated. The random number generator needs to be improved, and I will not reinstall this app or recommend it to anyone until I see improvements to the algorithms. Very disappointed.
good fundamentals, could use improvement
by californiadreamin' 2010 on 2019/03/18 08:25
I am a premium customer and have been for many years. Great game if one doesn’t set expectations too high. The recent innovations have been a very nice addition (zombie mode (not, obviously, for the zombies themselves although it was cute that they came out for Halloween, but for the difficulties/different algorithm they present), fog, blizzards, new choice of dice modes) in terms making the choice of games to play on the platform more versatile and interesting. At the same time, I can echo what a number of recent reviews make reference to: glitchy connections, illogical/non strategic algorithm choices by bots (when not in zombie mode), random freezing, among others. Finally, the bizarre choice of the cartoonish artwork for the new fantasy avatars and the three maps overall is just embarrassing! Quick fix?

by 461 Pete on 2020/10/24 22:36
Play with friends once in a while. Following last update you get really wonky dice results. Could happen in real life, happen way to frequently in this game. For example twice last game I attacked with a 9-2 advantage. Once I lost 9 troops to opponents 1. Once lost 9 and opponent lost 0.

Annoying
by Mantis 1031 on 2020/10/24 01:16
They need to rework whatever algorithm they have for the dice. It’s a statistic impossibility for an opponent with 4 to stop an attacker with 18 but it happens quite frequently.

If these glitches get fixed I’ll change my review

by What I think about this on 2020/10/19 01:09
I like the game. It takes a little getting used to. I can’t figure out how to attack only once and then stop. It just continues until you either win the territory or you get down to one army. I would also like a pause when it shows the additional armies I ( and the other players) am getting. Lastly, what is up with the tokens?
What an awesome find!!!

Only play this game if you don’t care about winning (but isn’t that the point?).

by danran24 on 2020/10/04 22:23
Love this game, we play it almost daily in our house during quarantine. It’s gotten to the point though where some of the controls cause unexpected things to happen that we end up rage quitting. The restart game button is far to easy to hit when the pause menu appears and we lose our games frequently.

by ThaGoat1999 on 2020/10/04 17:25
This game would be a lot better if it told you how many points it takes to go to the next rank.

I wish you folks would just leave these apps alone so we can all enjoy them.

by Clara Flame on 2020/10/01 06:52
I updated the game (it wouldn’t let you play without updating) and it completely erased my profile and progress. I was a Grandmaster (the highest rank) Now to even play global domination I have to play three games as a single player against a computer. Starting as a novice again. Which I won’t be doing. Super bummer, I really enjoyed this game!

Even if you have overwhelming odds and an overwhelming troop count over your opponent, you can, more often than not, will lose.

by The Lozenger on 2018/08/20 18:46
I love playing risk and an always looking to do more of it, but unfortunately none of my friends share my enthusiasm, as the game has a playing time of upwards of two hours.

Quick fix?
