Why even make a “free” version
by Monkeys1r2great on 2021/04/08 00:07
This is a joke of a free version. 45 seconds. When it’s at 2x speed I get 22 sec of a trial. This is garbage.
Amazing App
by how_man on 2021/04/07 10:37
This is app is so cool you can slow a song down or speed it up, change the key up or down. You can have the music separated from the vocals or heave the song separated into 4 tracks. Best app ever, such a tool any musician or music lover.
Isolation Feature
by Ced Gee 83 on 2021/04/04 04:18
I love this app, I really, really do, what’s keeping me from giving it a high-five is the fact that you can’t use the isolation feature offline, I tried to use it offline and it says internet required, what a let down. I’m using IPad 8th generation iOS 14.4, hopefully this can be fixed or if it’s a solution that I’m overlooking. Thanks and keep up the good work.
Fantastic App!
by Danair25 on 2021/04/01 22:08
Hands down the best software I’ve used to separate instrumentals, voice, bass, and drums from songs into individual tracks.
Must Call Home
by Gern Blasnton on 2021/03/31 22:29
I made the mistake of not allowing data sharing to load songs and it apparently requires Internet data sharing in order to process the material. PROBLEM: Once you deny data sharing you can’t turn it on even if you reload the app on the same device. Useless now.
Great App For Separating Tracks
by DaFingaz on 2021/03/29 06:01
I’ve used many different apps for separating tracks and transposing them. Having this all in one is incredible. Highly recommend Transcribe!
No sound

I opted for the full version but there is no sound or a verychoppy sound during playback after I split the song to 4 stems.Anyone knows how to het around this isaie?

I have my doubts about apps, and seeing the price wall that this one had made me truly fearful at first. But once I paired and tried ever thing out I realized all of my worries where for not, because this app is genuinely amazing
Good, but needs improvement
by 25x15x4x15x on 2021/03/20 05:24
This app is really amazing and very useful for separating audio. In my opinion; I would still need to use more advanced equalizers in order to create a higher quality audio separation but it the app still functions the way it is supposed to be. One minor issue however is that the scrolling bar is not as smooth as I expected it to be since it would automatically get stuck to speed 1.00x and it takes away from a perfect transitioning experience from slow to fast or fast to slow, and I wish this gets fixed as soon as possible. I would also wish that this app will develop a new feature to reverse the audio, as well as giving the user the ability to scroll pitch and speed at the same time. Thank you.
Frustrating pop up and stop after 45 seconds

Trouble setting loops.

Needs a bit of improvements
by SchochJohn on 2021/03/14 03:31
This app is actually really amazing. The fact that this app exists is great. but could use a bit of improvements when removing an instrument as far as the overall quality because I feel like it degrades the original sound making a bit harsh in the ears... but other than that it’s a great app

Can’t Restore Purchases
by DocnovaETSU on 2021/02/28 05:29
Bought a new iPad and now Transcribe+ will not let me restore purchases. Just see a spinning arrow loading icon that goes on forever. The app is pretty useless without being able to use the full version I paid $15 for.
Great app, but . . . Updated to 5 stars
by ri_chard on 2021/02/26 19:54
Thanks for fixing the bug that was primping paid users to pay again!!!! I’ve been using and loving this app for years. I wrote a review on 2/18/21 giving it a one star because I couldn’t find a contact email for support so that was my way of “contacting support”. I received a replay and the bug was resolved. So back to my original assessment of 5 stars!!!!
Works great

Had an issue at first after purchase, but a delete & reinstall fixed it. Works fine now. 👍🏻

Won’t Load Song

Tried loading a song from iTunes, and after waiting five minutes, still no song. I used riffmaster for years until deleted from App Store. This just does not work. Deleting.

Wanted me to pay again for upgrade
by Sick As Frick!! on 2021/02/18 04:03
I bought the upgrade ($15) where I can listen to a video longer than the 45 seconds. It states upgrade is a single purchase, but now 3 months later I get a notification that I must pay for the upgrade, that isn’t right. I paid for it before why do I have to pay for it again? This is trash

Vocals Only Test
by JJ-1971 on 2021/02/16 22:08
I tested 3 songs in trail version. The first was a hip hop song that came out poor, but it’s likely due to the song itself. Too many instruments. The next 2, one rock and the other country, came out perfect. Surprisingly good, which is why I’m sure the hip hop song was an exception. VERY easy to use. Clean. If you are looking for an easy way to create stems, this is your best bet, and I’ve tried a lot of ways.
Makes me pay twice!

Getting unstable
by mjlepeb on 2021/02/16 11:15
It is getting very unstable. Shutting down quite often and it doesnt save the recent files anymore. —- I am hugely frustrated right now because all of sudden it requires me to pay to unlock the app. However, I have paid few years ago and been using it well until today. Can you fix this problem please? I wasted my practice time quite a lot
Not what I hoped
by KeithU. on 2021/02/09 23:32
The whole reason for me purchasing this was to split the tracks up, learn some of the harmonies and chords. The Apple Music songs don’t seem to allow you permission to split this way, so I’ve purchased multiple songs through iTunes, with the same issue. I would not buy.
How to save the music/file/audio

Can’t export stems in songs with breaks
by Shocktech53 on 2021/02/03 17:09
I’m really enjoying this app. The only glitch I found is that when exporting some stems exporting will freeze. I can only associate this with songs that have breaks in them. If there’s a solution please reply, otherwise I would give this app 5 stars. Here’s one song: “How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You” by James Taylor. That one has a few breaks in it. I’ve tried many times to export with all formats, but it will lock up on export. It’s gotta be the breaks that are causing it. It would be great if you could fix it! Thanks.
Fun to mess with not what I needed
by emma and penny on 2021/01/29 00:21
First, let me just sayYou can’t save you’re spot, like, I would make a semitones -5 for one part, though for another part I need semitones at +2 and to do that I need to move it up which, one. Sounds weird when the video is playing, and two doesn’t save my -5 for the first part.

Bass sounded bad
by ChanceMyDog on 2021/01/24 22:42
I downloaded this to learn isolated bass lines. After taking out all the instruments and vocals, the bass sounds like it’s under water. Terrible quality. It might work for other instruments but this didn’t work for what I wanted it.

Can’t get it to work with Apple Music
by not_another_reviewer on 2021/01/17 16:11
It allows me to select a song from Apple Music but then it takes me back to the play screen and nothing appears selected. The play button doesn’t do anything. Does this not work unless you pay for the upgrade? I would happily pay for the upgrade if I were confident it would work afterward. If that’s the case, you should display a message to make that more clear. Lastly, this would be a support request instead of a review if I could figure out how to contact the developer. The app support link in the App Store just takes me to a promotional page. The feedback button in the app keeps telling me to configure my mail app.

App works as advertised well worth the small cost. Would love to see the rewind fast forward buttons not just slide capability
It really works
by claire with an E on 2021/01/14 17:08
I downloaded this app thinking I was going to be let down again with an app that promises to do more than it actually can. But what a pleasant surprise !! The thing can actually separate the tracks. However there still are artifacts but they are not too bad. I would say all further development should be to reduce the weird artifacts and boost the part that you want to hear. I paid for the full app and don’t regret it
Needs an update?
by Dguitar3 on 2021/01/13 16:20
I love this app and have used it for years but there’s a glitch lately. When something is slowed down and I pause it, the speed goes back to 100% no matter where the speed slider is. I have to adjust it to get it back to the selected speed. Super cumbersome! I have the latest ios. I wouldn’t have even said this here but there’s no other way to contact the developer that I can find! Im sure you’ll fix it!
Why does export sound like trash?
by Maniac12484276 on 2021/01/09 23:29
In the app I am very satisfied but once I export it to the same format.Wav it will sound like a bunch of noise problems that weren’t present in the app and it is significantly different sounds like the showers running while recording a vocal or a air conditioning unit is in the same room as the studio vocal booth. I am only using the mastered version of a track to create a slowed down remix with the pitch at negative 4 or 5 and I can’t find a way to get the same quality as is heard in the app? Help?
Update 1/8/21
by SFMusicology on 2021/01/09 06:46
After paying for the upgrade but not receiving it I left feedback here asking for help. Within 24 hours I got an email from the developer apologizing for the problem and asking for more info. His next email included a code that I was able to apply that finally let me access the upgrade features. Great app! And great customer service. Thank you. Note: I still wish that there was a place on this product page to resolve issues rather than writing it as feedback and hoping that someone responds. The Customer Service page only takes you to a page with more product descriptions.
Cant keep or delete worked on files
by disappointed Bose on 2021/01/07 15:12
Sure wish we could save or delete files within the app. Bummer! This app could easily become my favorite music app, and I love The ability to import videos from screen recording it’s very helpful, however the app has crashed frequently , I’ve deleted and installed the app several times, but even more annoying is the Inability to save songs, delete songs or even rename within the app to me that would be the biggest improvement.. and yet I still give this app a four-star I like it that much compared to the other music slow down apps. Keep up the good work.
Locked up
by DonnieTRUMPet on 2021/01/03 21:53
Worked fine initially. Then asked for review. When I tried to submit the app locked up. Had to delete and redownload. Could use a metronome feature. Would also be nice to have a separate track for solo instruments.
Un mixing to stems is amazing!
by LeeFaulkner on 2021/01/01 21:25
The app’s ability to split a track into separate Drums, Bass, Vocals and ‘Everything else’ is perfect for my drum practice! Can I actually play a song without the support of the recoded drummer? (Unfortunately usually not... or at best not as well! ). It’s so much fun! I would like to be able to save the stems in-app and return to them later but it seems it only stores one set of stems at a time. You then have to reprocess older tracks over again or export the stems to import and play in another DAW. Seems redundant. Add that and it’s 5 stars from me!
Amazing just one problem
by jbdawg02 on 2020/12/30 00:05
The only issue I have is that it doesn’t necessarily pick up everything. Like it’ll miss a word or a note and everything has this weird phaser/flanger effect. If anyone can explain why that’d be great.
Forces you to pay
by SirTimmyJimmy on 2020/12/29 03:51
Didn't get to even edit my audio because it had 30 seconds of silence in the beginning, and once you pass 45 seconds it forces you to upgrade. Don't pretend to be free and then waste people's time, being able to slow down audio isn't special.

Says song DRM after purchase
by ecburgess on 2020/12/22 02:35
Every time I open the app it says that the song that I have already purchased is protected, then if I go in and open the song again it then says it’s not downloaded, which it is. I reinstalled the app and now I can select the song but nothing comes up it’s just remains blank.

Bpm Display
by Invictus Prime7 on 2020/12/17 17:07
Maybe I just don’t know about it yet, but it would be very helpful to explicitly showcase the bpm of a track whenever the speed is changed. I use garageband on ios to produce and this app had been very generous in letting me change the pitch of loops without affecting the tempo. I would love if I could see the bpm because it would really help alot of people in mixing different tempo tracks/loops together. I’m grateful for what this app is doing for me and I’m sure there will be more available soon! Please consider my request.
Why do you have to pay when it’s free
by TDNGirl91 on 2020/12/14 01:31

Free version is still amazing
by My Dad Should Have Pulled Out on 2020/12/04 05:22
There’s a time limit for songs using the non paid version but that app still does an amazing job with isolating sounds and the overall ease of use. It’s very cool that I call use audio from many different sources while maintaining great quality from the program.
The app is NOT free,
by PhoenixTudor on 2020/12/03 22:08
I downloaded this app to help me slow down songs in Spanish to work on my listening and comprehension. I knew the free version would not have many special features, but this app barely functions unless you pay money. It would not allow me to play a song longer than 45 seconds unless I paid for premium. If the creators of the app are not going to make the app at least moderately function for free, do NOT market it as free. It is disingenuous and a waste of consumer time. My recommendation is to search elsewhere for a “free” pitch manipulation app.
Decent but needs some basic changes
by Rah_007 on 2020/12/01 17:09
Once a song is loaded the app is very useful and easy to use but the following are some issues which make this app not so easy to use - recent change results in all Recents being deleted so I have to keep loading songs again and again. I am loading songs from outside my iTunes library. There should be a way to add songs to a library within the app, which is always loaded OR there should be a way to decide which recents can be removed and which cannot. This constant having to load the same songs again and again is making me want to find another app for transcribing.
New Most Valuable Tool for learning new songs!
by pshimmons on 2020/12/01 02:33
I’ve been working on learning music, transcribing music and recording ,using for years! This new version allowing for isolation of four stems of audio is so absurdly amazing that Transcribe has earned a permanent spot on the main screen of my iPad! Thank you for making our lives easier!
Separates Voice Quite Well
by Bambooke on 2020/12/01 02:03
Been working with app less than 48 hours. Seems to be hard for any apps to separate a tenor sax when piano is also playing. I sense the the analog music source is the limitation of what apps like this one could accomplish. Still, I see that it will assist me in learning transcribing techniques.
45 Seconds. Really?
by Lucky135858 on 2020/11/27 13:25
So. I am used to features being locked until you purchases an app. No big deal right? But, this app will only work for 45 seconds. Once you have used the app for 45 seconds it stops and gives you a pop up telling you have reached the end of the 45 second trial and to upgrade for $15 USD. Yes 45 seconds and the entire app locks. That is NOT enough time for anyone to test drive the app for purchase. App Deleted.
Finally!!! A slow downer that works with Apple Music

Misleading unlock all features for $16.04
by 25BoyStory on 2020/11/23 02:50
If you are an ITunes music subscriber, then you will not unlock the other features this app says it will offer once you purchase the unlock all upgrade for $16.04. It will only allow you to slow the music down. If you want to shift the pitch of the music, you need to purchase the song, even though you already pay for it through a subscription. What a scam.
There’s a Problem with the loops

Best app, minus Spotify?!
by man behind the curtain on 2020/11/19 16:55
I would LOVE to use this app, but there’s some note in the description that blames a “third party” for why they don’t integrate Spotify. But a ton of other lesser quality apps can access Spotify. So please add this and I’ll buy the full version immediately.
Potentially good app
by lavenderlily3 on 2020/11/17 19:06
Hi! I had to get the app today (11/17/2020) to ask this question. It seems that you do reply here to people. I noticed that other apps of yours are free today only with free full upgrades. Why doesn’t this app have a free full upgrade? I got the metronome app and free full upgrade today when I found it on App Advice. Since your pop up ad in the metronome app before I got the free full upgrade said all your apps are free today only with free upgrades, I thought this one would have a free full upgrade today too, but it doesn’t. 🙁 Are you going to offer a free full upgrade for this app at some point? It looks like a great app that will be very useful once I can get the upgrade eventually. I always wait until things are free before I get an app because it’s a frivolous purchase to me, to buy an app. Thank you for reading my message! I had to give 3 stars because I haven’t had a chance to use the app yet, because I just got it. This doesn’t mean it’s a bad app.

Promising, but some glitches
by sfkw on 2020/10/14 20:38
(My first post of this review was deleted, and I don't understand why; I'm a paid user, providing honest feedback) This app has promise, and I finally decided to purchase it with the latest version adding the ability to play non-DRM music. However, in my use so far I've found several UI and functionality issues that should be addressed. What's good: - It basically does what it says, though some operations are a bit cumbersome - The graphics are nice - You can now play DRMed songs (with some limits), which is great What's needing improvement: - Flags are a bit hard to work with: they are too easy to accidentally move, and also the only way to edit the name and color of one is to press and hold on it, but that usually causes it to move. I suggest creating separate zones on a flag, for example the left side and stem allowing movement, and the right side popping up the edit dialog - There are some UI glitches around loops; first, the loop on/off button can be covered by a flag and become hard or impossible to click - I also had a loop become completely non-responsive to clicks on the loop on/off button, even without a flag overlapping. Ultimately I had to delete the loop and create it again. - The speed/pitch control is set up so that one can accidentally shift pitch when just trying to change speed. There is no use case for a control that does both at the same time—this would be better if they each had their own zone. Furthermore, it would be useful to have either direct buttons for common speed settings (e.g. 50%), or a direct touch on the control choosing a value based on where along the line you click, rather than requiring dragging. This would be easier if speed and pitch were not linked on the same control surface. In terms of features, I note that loops cannot overlap or be nested. This makes it impossible to, for example, set up a full solo as a loop, and then set up sub-loops within it for specific licks you want to work on (as an alternative, perhaps the app could allow setting an in and out point in the song, and then have loops work as they currently do within that section (which could be looped). Anyway, I hope the developers (who seem very responsive) will see this and that my review is not deleted again. Nothing I have said is incorrect, and as I paid $15 for this app, I hope my feedback can be at least seen. Thank you!

Transcribe+ is a valuable rehearsal tool
by PLthree on 2020/09/25 06:49
It not only allows slowing or speeding up the playback without altering the pitch, it allows altering the pitch, without changing the speed, in semitone steps, so you can figure out what key you are now in. All works with no discernible distortion. Also allows tagging the intensity time plot with flags which I label with critical rehearsal measure numbers.
Best app ever!!!
by bassman1976 on 2020/09/24 22:45
I absolutely love this app!! Just the ability to separate the tracks is worth the money. This is the best transcription tool I have ever used and will cut down the time I spend learning songs considerably.
Exceptional
by Nightwolf1296 on 2020/09/16 16:51
With the latest update, this app is now one of the most powerful tools for transcribing music on the App Store. You can change the speed and pitch of a track, view its waveform, and even isolate specific instruments from a track. The app also lets you import from a variety of sources, works with audio and video and includes an equalizer. Everything works as intended and the UI is very smooth as well. Hats off to the developer of this app, the only feature I would have to request is the ability to save multiple projects and be able to navigate between them like with a file management system. Overall amazing app and well worth a download.

Almost perfect! Updated!
by Atin01 on 2020/09/12 10:20
Updated: Very well done app, minor quibbles that I hope will be addressed as the developer seems very engaged and the second quibble below is already implemented since my last feedback! 1. Export markers and loop A and B markers as a separate file from the audio, so that both can be saved and loaded from a cloud drive like Dropbox, iCloud, Google Drive, etc at a later time. Currently I am afraid to remove any audio files in case I lose all my markers but will have to as I run out of space. 2. Jump to next left or right marker from current play head via a button as it is hard to hit the markers easily on the waveform directly and dragging the waveform to the exact spot of the next marker while playing an instrument is too fiddly. -- Done! (though I would have preferred a 2 finger double-tap to move as a single-tap is too easy to do accidentally when scrolling) But otherwise this is working really well, and the colors are nicely chosen to not distract.

Virtually none of my music collection can be used in the app. I’m guessing it has something to do with the copyrights. There was a disclaimer in the tutorial that I did not pay much attention to....
Loop works sporadically

App has been working great but in the last month the loop that i setup doesn’t loop, the tune keeps playing thru the loop. Frustrating.

Love this app but it doesn’t work anymore
by ReviewCritc on 2020/08/28 15:29
This was the first app that i’ve found that can change the pitch of a song without altering the speed of the song. My problem is that the app crashes every time I try and upload a file to it, no matter the size or length of it.
great but has an issues
by Jasminecmemes on 2020/08/27 05:41
It works well but I think theirs an issue with the app. Every time I select something from my camera roll it crashes and takes me back to my home screen. Hopefully this is resolved soon.
New version has a bug
by Aquaman72 on 2020/08/20 17:15
I love this app and use it everyday for guitar practice. I like the new features such as having the ability to select Recent songs and retaining the loops and speeds from previous sessions. One bug after the recent update is the loop doesn’t always work. It shows the loop correctly but when it reaches the end of the loop, instead of going back to the beginning of the loop, the song continues passed the loop. Restarting the app will sometimes fix the problem for a little while but then it does it again. I hope they fix the problem because this is an important feature.
Missing one simple and obvious feature
by LeesKeys on 2020/08/20 17:02
The missing feature? An in-app volume control. If I’m playing an instrument app with my midi keyboard and have the overall iPad volume set the way I want it, then having to use the iPad volume to change the volume of the Transcribe track also changes the volume of the musical instrument app I’m using. Transcribe needs an in-app volume control!

Powerful tool to learn your favorite songs.
by KiaHop on 2020/08/15 21:25
I’ve been looking for an app exactly like this to help figure out guitar solos and such. By slowing down the tempo without changing the pitch, this app makes it very possible. The fact that you can even loop through sections of the song makes it even more powerful. The interface is MUCH easier to use e iPad vs the iPhone, but functionality seems to be the same. The ‘free’ download allows only 45 seconds of the song to be manipulated, but the full app is going to cost $15. Honestly, it’s a good investment and time saver for any musician.

Lost functionality in the last update
by Josh Skaff on 2020/08/15 08:29
I loved the app and was pretty loyal to this music transcription app, but the last update killed any useful functionality in this app. I lost half of my downloaded songs, which I purchased specifically for transcribing with this app, and on top of that, the loop function doesn’t work. After removing all loops and flags/ tags, closing out of the app, it still didn’t work. Then I cleared all the data again, removed the app, rebooted my phone, and finally downloaded it again, the loop function still doesn’t work. I ended up going with Anytune. It’s a shame, but I rely on this app to transcribe music, and if it ain’t working, I ain’t working.
Great interface
by 46Martin on 2020/08/13 22:00
Just a few minutes to learn to to use. The ability to hear one note at a time by dragging and holding the track almost feels like cheating.
A few additions would make this a 5 star app
by WendyRaevn on 2019/12/09 18:36
There are a few features I think this app should have especially since it was so expensive. My most urgent request is Low Pass and High Pass filters. I am currently trying to learn bass lines and sometimes the guitar is so forward in the song that the bass is really hard to hear without cranking the volume. It would be nice to turn the guitar down a bit or boost the bass. Second is the ability to make a playlist of songs you are working on. It is a little annoying to have to go dig the song out of my phones music player each time and not be able to quickly call up a different song. I have had to reboot Transcribe once because it would not allow me to pass through to Apple Music to get my song. Last and definitely least important, in most DAWs or DJ software you have the option of using the multicolor wave form view which is helpful because it shows where your kick drums are hitting by highlighting them and other beats in contrasting colors. This would make it easier to quickly pick out a section to loop and also helpful as a visual metronome as you practice. Thank you for your time and effort, your app has already helped me a lot as a beginning bass player.
Great tool!
by Boo Kiker on 2019/10/19 20:24
I love this app. Saves me from having to fire up the desktop and DAW to pick out melodies and instrumental pieces from songs I want to learn. So much easier to use. The pitch and speed change controls are superb. A couple of suggestions, though. Could you make it so that the looper function can be set shorter than the current shortest time. I think it can be closed in to about 2 or 3 secs. It’d be great if the start and end points could be brought together as close as possible. Like in milliseconds. I often try to pull notes out of recordings one by one. I close in on a single note and let it loop, then find it on my guitar or tuner. And if you had a built in tuner in the app in addition, that’d be even better. Then you could loop a note and see on the tuner what the note is.
Thank you.
Exceptional
by Nightwolf1296 on 2020/09/16 16:51
With the latest update, this app is now one of the most powerful tools for transcribing music on the App Store.
Talk about responsive!
by HoofHouse on 2020/06/20 03:50
I really like this app. So many others are over complicated with tuners and practice logs and other stuff. This one does exactly what I want. I can replay my saved songs, slow it down, change the key. I have learned mandolin solos from two of my favorite songs in about a week, just by slowing down and figuring it out. Loop works perfectly. I reported a small problem to the developer on Wednesday this week. Joe responded by email to say it was fixed and will be available on iTunes in the next update. Today I updated the app and it works perfectly. Joe has pride in his work and deserves our business. Five Stars. Keith, Sacramento CA.
I like it a lot, except for one annoying thing
by melanie chr on 2019/04/19 01:10
I am getting so much better on my guitar with this app. I go into jam sessions with other amateurs (and some professionals) feeling much more confident, knowing I have practiced a lot and could keep up. It has made a huge difference in just a few weeks. Even if I know I can’t keep up at 100% speed, I can ask to have a song slowed down a bit when it comes to performing and I know I’ll be fine. It’s just so much fun to play at home with this app. I have much more confidence now. This is when playing guitar is starting to be fun and not just work.

Transcribe+ (iPhone) and Transcribe! (Desktop) are the BEST!
by Rooster#1 on 2020/02/09 07:23
I bought both versions - including the desktop/laptop version mostly because I have tons of music on my desktop and not that much on my iPhone and iPad (iTunes). (Yes, you need to access music files, you cannot stream the music.) Either version works equally well with amazing sound quality when slowed down. It’s really impressive software. BTW, I have friends who learn with TAB. OK, I get this, but this is a better experience for me because it helps train my ear. I love this software, I recommend it highly!!
Beautiful!!!
by PhotoMolly on 2017/12/12 03:05
Wonderful job on this app! Well worth the price! I’m using this in split screen with MS Word, transcribing multiple-hour spoken word audio files. Here are a couple of features I’d really really like to see added. 1, a button to copy the timecode into the clipboard so that I may paste it into my document, 2, the ability to modify the format of the timecode, [HH:MM:SS] for example, and 3, a lock button on the row that represents the entire audio file, because occasionally I hit it by mistake and lose my place. Thanks again though! This app is SOOOO close to exactly what I’ve been looking for.
Almost great
by JimLinVA on 2020/01/10 15:08
I use this app daily and it is great at what it does. It is a solid app that needs one significant addition, save the flags and songs that I am working on in an easy place to find. I feel like I have to reinvent the wheel every time I play a different song, even if I have played it a dozen times before. Don’t waste time labeling things, because the labels get discarded, and I have to go back and search my song library to bring an old song back. It is easy to use, but isn’t as useful if you are working on more than one song at a time.
Putting it through the paces.
by oldavid on 2018/10/19 10:05
Great app! My playing has improved in the two weeks I have been using this app. I’m trying to transcribe a couple of Django recordings and the loop is helping a lot. I like being able to swipe across the waveform and zero in on a specific spot so I can verify the pitch. I have not had much use for changing the pitch yet, but if I was working with a singer, it would be helpful. It took me a while to figure out how to get songs onto my phone and not use iTunes. I used cloud storage (one drive) to get around this.
Bpm Display
by Invictus Prime7 on 2020/12/17 17:07
Maybe I just don’t know about it yet, but it would be very helpful to explicitly showcase the bpm of a track whenever the speed is changed.
Super Reliable
by Musiczeal on 2019/03/23 14:36
Something I value in many music and practice apps is the lack of friction from the start of a project to the very end. Transcribe+ makes the process so easy, from uploading your music into the app, to creating and marking loops, and finally, to adjusting speed and pitch. I’ve tried countless other products and apps but this is just so user friendly and tops all others. 10/10 worth the money and would definitely recommend this to all studio and music professionals.
Thanks.

by horselover635 on 2020/08/13 01:43
Honestly this app seemed really cool and easy to use! They give you a tutorial and everything! But.. when I went to insert a video from my camera roll the app immediately crashed, at first I thought oh maybe it accidentally happened but, it just kept crashing, so I think this app would’ve been cool if I actually got the chance to use it.

by claire with an E on 2021/01/14 17:08
I downloaded this app thinking I was going to be let down again with an app that promises to do more than it actually can.

Pro musician transcribing big band charts. This is THE app I use until something better comes along. I look for Intuitive apps that don’t require hours to learn. Swipe left to slow down; right to change pitch; tap to flag a section and label it as you choose; tap to Loop, and it automatically sets a 10 sec loop. You can adjust the loop with dragging tabs at both ends of the loop. It’s that easy. Back to my Maynard chart, take care!
Fantastic app for learning songs
by Music guy on the east coast on 2019/11/27 17:57
This app is so well thought out. The interface is really user friendly everything you need when you’re going through a tune over and over is right there. I really appreciate how the developer designed the looping speed control and scrubbing. It’s a little different than other apps I’ve tried for transcribing and that’s a good thing!! Thanks developer team!
Doesn’t work
by swervin54 on 2020/02/11 05:12
Will not access non-DRM MP3’s on my iPhone. This app says there are no songs in my library but there are hundreds, and theApple music app has no trouble finding them. I am NOT talking about Apple Music subscriptions!!!! Some of them are my own recordings!!! I have contacted the developer but have received no response. One of my piano students who bought the app has the same problem. Both of us have hundreds of mp3s on pur phones with NO DRM. The developer’s response to this review is both arrogant and irrelevant. This app is a waste of time and money. I’m going back to The Amazing Snow Downer app. Not as nice of an interface but at least it WORKS.
Scrubbing is broken
by Lanny Heidbreder on 2018/11/13 23:55
Scrubbing through a song often fails and sometimes crashes the app. The timer can’t decide whether to show the time before or after multiplying by the speed rate. The waveform playheads, both big and small, don’t scroll anywhere close to the right speed. A bit disappointed that I shelled out for the IAP on the strength of reviews without playing with the 45 sec limit more, but I hope some developer attention can fix my issues.
Great App
by Alki Guy on 2020/07/30 14:40
I have tried most of the slow downers and loopers in the App Store and Transcribe+ is by far my favorite. The user interface is the best one out there and it is super easy to use. A big plus is the responsiveness of the developer. I sent him a request for a few features and not only did he respond back to me he included the requested features in the next release.
Won't download all of my music
by Tyranitar3748 on 2017/06/10 22:06
This app is wonderful, and the $10 for the full version I don't mind at all. However, when I go to choose music, it only allows gives me access to specific songs in my library. There are songs I have definitely downloaded and they don't show up, and even when I create a playlist, none of the songs show up on the app. I will change this to a perfect 5 stars once I have access to all of my music
It was great!!!!! Till it started crashing.
by to yourself be true on 2018/12/07 17:10
I started using this app, then bought it (it only gives you the first 45 seconds of the file unless you buy it.) and immediately LOVED IT! I got soooo much stuff done learned a lot of music for about a day. The next day I was disappointed when it would crash before I could even download the file. Can’t even push any of the tabs. I REALLY LIKED THE APP! Which is why I’m extremely dissatisfied that it crashes. I guess all good things come to an end? Hopefully they fix this soon, before I find an app that works and forget this app exists.
Love it
by Welldone1234 on 2020/07/23 05:11
Ipad at eye level running Transcribe out to my mixer I can play to songs in ear or over the pa. Great to jam with others or play alone to learn parts or just pull chops out of songs. The new eq helps a ton if your signal chain doesn't allow you to emphasize or deemphasize pieces while you’re trying to learn. This is an app I would have made for myself if I knew how.
Great for Ghost box review work!
by Donny10000 on 2017/10/04 08:44
I use this for reviewing recordings I make from my ghost box. I share the file from my recording app to Transcribe+ and can slow parts down or change the pitch and loop a section to understand what is said easier. I also use the flag feature to mark interesting parts and you can even name the flags. Works great for that! A+
Good replacement for Capo
by tritone917 on 2020/03/29 13:58
After Capo instituted their subscription model, I needed to find an alternative. I used the Amazing Slow Downer for a while, but their interface did not allow enough fine control to define loops. After receiving feedback from the developer, I see that you can pinch the waveform to make it possible to more easily define long loops.
Worth $10
by Paul Machamer on 2017/08/07 23:11
I've been working on some difficult fingerstyle guitar pieces and this app is precisely what I needed to figure out sequences at a slower speed. The time stretching is quite good and the notes are very clear even at half speed. The developers deserve to get paid so I don't see why other reviewers expect this to be a free app. Worth every penny!
Awesome
by geraldcody on 2018/05/15 22:59
This app is perfect for what I need! My only critique is that I wish I could store a few songs somewhere within the app to come back to old projects. Otherwise I have to re transfer the song into the app, or re record the live audio that I need slowed down in a different app, and transfer it to this app. Other than that, this is awesome. Thanks for creating this! 🙏🏾
Simple and intuitive
by sturgis85 on 2017/10/18 01:37
This app does almost everything I need for practicing and transcribing - and in contrast to a more full-featured app I have, I don't have to go find a tutorial each time I use it. Great! Personally, the only thing I'd like to make this perfect for me is to add (maybe an optional) pad at the end of each loop - a few second pause that lets my hands, fingers, and mind reset before digging in again. But I'm in awe of the simplicity and basic functionality. (And "boo" to the people that complain they have to pay for more than 45 seconds. Providing a free full-featured test version is a great way to go. Pay up, losers!)
Great tool for learning by ear.
by darkdarkdoor on 2018/02/13 04:59
As someone that’s always struggled with just trying to figure out how to play songs out by ear, this tool definitely works as mentioned. There’s a point though when things start to sound weird with the speed settings but that’s only if you push it to extreme lengths.
Awesome
by Skepteirik on 2018/09/23 01:02
I wrote the developer a suggestion that was really a dealbreaker for my situation and less than a month later they added my requested functionality to the app! I can now play the slow music in the background while looking at lyrics in another app. Thank you!!!
Transcribe! Great app!
by B&BB on 2019/08/15 00:50
I use it to figure out the extremely complex & lightening quick solos that Django Reinhardt & the other geniuses do when playing Gypsy jazz. Although I can never play what they do at the speed they play it, the app is invaluable for figuring out what it is they’re doing. It’s a must have for any musician.

Thank you.

Why do you have to pay when it’s free
by TDNGirl91 on 2020/12/14 01:31
I downloaded this app to listen to one of my favorite 70’s song no vocals but no I have to pay 15$ to get a full song! I deleted it once when it wouldn’t allow past 45 seconds this really made me angry and upset

Thank you!
Great

The Apple Music support is very welcome

Transcribe is one of the few apps I care to check update note every time an update is available, and it’s giving me quite some surprises recently. As an hobbit jazz pianist, the app is a must, and it’s the best of its kind.
45 seconds trial?.. Nope.
by 0xc0dedbad on 2020/10/09 02:34
Maybe a good app, but 45 sec is no chance to find out. To garbage it goes.
Best app money could buy
by ThisNicknameisAlreadyTakkken on 2020/09/26 21:25
I had been already happy with this app and now they have added extra important features that I had wished for such as vie “recent track” and creating multiple loops etc....Thank YOU!
Uhh maybe it’s just me but I crash a lot

Not bad. Could be great!!

The option allows me to split multiple tracks but when I do the sound is unrecognizable. Can it split multiple tracks or Not? geez!!

Loop works sporadically

by ReviewCritc on 2020/08/28 15:29
This was the first app that i’ve found that can change the pitch of a song without altering the speed of the song.

Thank you.

Thanks.

This app is so well thought out. The interface is really user friendly everything you need when you’re going through a tune over and over is right there. I really appreciate how the developer designed the looping speed control and scrubbing. It’s a little different than other apps I’ve tried for transcribing and that’s a good thing!! Thanks developer team!

Worth $10
by Paul Machamer on 2017/08/07 23:11
I've been working on some difficult fingerstyle guitar pieces and this app is precisely what I needed to figure out sequences at a slower speed. The time stretching is quite good and the notes are very clear even at half speed. The developers deserve to get paid so I don't see why other reviewers expect this to be a free app. Worth every penny!
Awesome
by geraldcody on 2018/05/15 22:59
This app is perfect for what I need! My only critique is that I wish I could store a few songs somewhere within the app to come back to old projects. Otherwise I have to re transfer the song into the app, or re record the live audio that I need slowed down in a different app, and transfer it to this app. Other than that, this is awesome. Thanks for creating this! 🙏🏾
Transcribe! Great app!
by B&BB on 2019/08/15 00:50
I use it to figure out the extremely complex & lightening quick solos that Django Reinhardt & the other geniuses do when playing Gypsy jazz. Although I can never play what they do at the speed they play it, the app is invaluable for figuring out what it is they’re doing. It’s a must have for any musician.
