App won’t let me log in code ver is failing

Put in username password and then it asks for the code that gets texted. Problem is the Texted number is to large by one digit! I’ve tried the first 5 but that fails too. So, this app is useless for me as of today! Also, the help to contact support will not let you choose a subject (which is required)... so you can’t contact them either!!!

What happened to the calendar for the owner? It was a good and easy visually, now it changed. :/ The old review: The website's customer center called me asking to set-up the seasonal rates for our rental property. They care. Good. So I went to moble app trying to do what they asked. The app not only doesn't let me to set the correct dates and keeps messing them up, it's also telling me I can't set the rates I want! It gives me suggestions like "Make sure that..." that do not make any sense in regards to what I'm trying to do! The app is updated. Very bad app. Competitors have it together, sorry to say. Want to try to make a suggestion about the technical issue? Good luck finding the contact info on line to send the message! Was able to set the rates and dates I need on the website. An hour of my time is wasted.

Downloaded the app. Get sign in page BUT nothing else. Of course I can’t sign in because I don’t have an account. Nothing is available to get out of that window or to close the application

Of the potential guests all of them backed out. Too darn expensive on the TripAdvisor end. If I add enough to offset TripAdvisor costs, I out-price my rooms. If I don’t then I can’t get a fair rate so I can make enough to come out ahead.

THIS UPDATE IS STILL TRASH!!! Why can’t you all make an app like the AirBnB or VRBO owners apps where I can manage my business if need be from inside of the app!!! They are so far and away ahead of this it’s laughably sad and frustrating!!! SMH!!!

I’m a long-time superhost on Airbnb. I downloaded the trip advisor app to reach a different market and increase my booking for dead months (usually 97-100% booked on Airbnb during normal months). Big mistake. There is no review system for the guests who book with me on TripAdvisor’s platform, so I don’t know if they were good guests in the past. As a matter of fact, I don’t even see any info of the guy until I send them an offer. Being new to the platform, I made an offer thinking I’ll see the information afterwards. They took my offer, and I was immediately bound to the booking, still with no idea who is coming into my house. I live in the house and rent out two private rooms. Not being able to see who’s coming into my primary residence makes me worried about my personal safety. When I called customer service to cancel the booking, the agent was very impatient with me and told me there would be a $150 charge for cancellation, 3x what Airbnb charges. Spoke to the manager, and she says she will give them a call to verify their identity. That’s only a temporary fix and I would have to do that for every request I get with them if I were to continue hosting. They kept saying they don’t want to cancel my reservation and it seemed to me they were more worried about the money than about making me feel safe as a host. Overall, my experience hosting on TripAdvisor is horrible and I would never use them again until they come up with a better solution for this issue.

I rent two apartments and a house on Airbnb and Homeaway and thought that adding another platform would be a no brainer… Boy was I wrong. I have not had one positive rental experience from TripAdvisor in over 2 years. From over-needy guests, to scammers attempting to book last minute, horrible customer service, exorbitant fees and add-ons, and the list could go on and on. Please don’t waste your time like I did with this platform. I’m sure they will be out of business soon enough.
Impossibly difficult

Tried to load new photos on 3 different devices. Message said it was compatible, try another device,all times. Impossible to navigate site. INCOMPATIBLE with many SMS and makes you go to inbox on site. Will not allow certain communication with guest until they pay ENTIRE fee, even after paying deposit. If a guest asks specifics of neighborhood, How transportation goes,your last name etc or ANYTHING A guest might need to know for planning their trip or safety/ accessibility concerns, site deletes your message and guest thinks you did not bother to answer them.

I have my property listed with Trip Advisor but when I try to enter and respond to an enquiry it is impossible to find it in my inbox. It seems there are two conflicting apps - one with my listing and the other saying not completed. Either one is virtually impossible to manage.

Cannot upload photos from the app. So irritating. Makes me not want to have my listing with this company if they can’t get their technology correct. Airbnb and VRBO are the way to go.

Unable to enter pictures on app. Cumbersome and confusing online, too. Other vacation rental brokers can do this, why can’t TripAdvisor? Just disappointing. Not user friendly.

The app concept is good, but very limited on execution. I cannot upload photos of our units........I certainly can upload multiple photos in the VRBO and Airbnb apps....Come on TA! Get with it

I’ve recently added TripAdvisor to my vacation rentals strategy and compared the the Airbnb app, it is disappointing. I cannot check anything because the login screen pops up and disappears before I can log in and doesn’t show me anything. You could learn a lot from Airbnb. I guess I will have to use my laptop to manage guests. Boo.

Please bring back the "gear" on the calendar page that let's me update/sync the calendars. It's too risky to wait for it to be done automatically. Doing it manually is time consuming.

Overall Ok but has some issues. Need to be able to archive inbox messages in app and not lose messages if you switch between app and other apps. You lose your work when you switch.

I see the app and it let's me "open" the app from my email but I don't have it downloaded on my phone! I had it on my old phone but it's not on my new phone. Some kind of glitch.

The app is terrible. As a host it seems impossible to respond to a booking inquiry without sending a quote and you get very little information about potential guests. As for app support.. good luck it is non-existent.

The app has worked flawless so far, no bugs or issues. Also it is the most functional amongst other owner apps like Airbnb and VRBO. You can edit the listing, adjust seasonal pricing, send quotes and complete the booking

The Flipkey app through trip advisor is fantastic they have thought of everything! It is very easy to set up and use. My clients also find it easy to find and book their vacation spot.

And good luck. Still and for so long work m progress. Still trying to imitate Airbnb and still fall behind. Trying to update the calendar is question of luck; sometimes you will be able to save changes, sometimes you will not!! When replying a customer, if your phone receive an alert the application will refresh your screen and all your message will be deleted!!!! Try to contact customer service, GOOD LUCK!!! Very frustrating.

If you don't give users an option to sign up... You failed usability test #1. Though I assume all your regression tests start with logging in... Not actually signing up as a new user. All there is - is a user name and password field with a forgot password link and sign in button. Even if you enter in info that isn't recognized no subsequent option to sign up. Call your QA manager ... Quickly.

This app is poorly designed and has obviusly been rushed through production. The User Interface is at best average but its the small bugs that get to you. For instance when trying to change the status of a date in the calendar, pressing in it makes the app think you want to make a phone call. Use Airbnb if you want a better app.

I love this app, haven't had any issues booking, getting messages and keeping up with calendars for my properties, have had a 30% increase in bookings due to the timely response rate I can give clients and I can make quick changes to my listings anytime I want...Really easy to use, really awesome job, don't change anything😊

Constantly refreshing and full of errors

If you have a previous version, DO NOT Upgrade to this one!! I recently updated the app and what a mistake that was. The app is now constantly refreshing/updating itself every time I try to do anything. Or when I switch between this and other apps. Often when responding to inquiries I switch between this app and others to copy and paste info and now when I do that it resets itself and does not save what I had just written. The interface hasn't changed much from previous version, but at least before it didn't freeze and constantly refresh. Horrible update. #Tripadvisor, hope you're reading this and fix the bugs soon. PLEASE! (using on iPhone 6s-64GB, iOS 9.2)

I currently have listing on this site and Airbnb, and the difference with both applications is astounding. It's always crashing, or freezing. You can't update your listing and consolidate calendars. I'm not sure why this takes so much money from my listing, they aren't applying it to make this application any better.

It would be nice if I could actually use the app. It opens to a login page with nowhere to sign up if you don't have an account already. I'm not going to take the time to create an account in my browser when it should clearly be an option within the app. Good luck with this one.
Really below TripAdvisor standards

As a brand I love TripAdvisor, but this release is so incredibly bad that I have major doubts about the model if using the TA brand in tandem with vacation rentals. I should say I was already unimpressed with FlipKey, but I had assumed that it was acquired by TA and therefore legacy as far as development and code. This new app is astonishing in its tone deafness to the sharing economy and what short term rental owners are used to from AirBNB and competitive interfaces. The design and typography are extremely hard to read and tiny. The interface looks like it was put together by a coder without the very least amount of design. It has so few valuable features that it makes me wish I had my old FlipKey back just because at the tie of its release at least they tried to provide something. Summarily across the board this app is an insult to the people who align with TA to leverage the TA brand with their properties. I will wait about three months and if this app is not improved I plan to remove my listing from TA all together and stick with AirBNB who knows how to design for the customer and outs user experience first. This was a sad and complete mis-step for TripAdvisor.

The app is terrible. As a host it seems impossible to respond to a booking inquiry without sending a quote and you get very little information about potential guests. As for app support.. good luck it is non-existent.

Put in username password and then it asks for the code that gets texted. Problem is the Texted number is to large by one digit! I’ve tried the first 5 but that fails too. So, this app is useless for me as of today! Also, the help to contact support will not let you choose a subject (which is required)... so you can’t contact them either!!!

What happened to the calendar for the owner? It was a good and easy visually, now it changed. :/ The old review: The website's customer center called me asking to set-up the seasonal rates for our rental property. They care. Good. So I went to moble app trying to do what they asked. The app not only doesn't let me to set the correct dates and keeps messing them up, it's also telling me I can't set the rates I want! It gives me suggestions like "Make sure that..." that do not make any sense in regards to what I'm trying to do! The app is updated. Very bad app. Competitors have it together, sorry to say. Want to try to make a suggestion about the technical issue? Good luck finding the contact info on line to send the message! Was able to set the rates and dates I need on the website. An hour of my time is wasted.

Of the potential guests all of them backed out. Too darn expensive on the TripAdvisor end. If I add enough to offset TripAdvisor costs, I out-price my rooms. If I don’t then I can’t get a fair rate so I can make enough to come out ahead.

I’m a long-time superhost on Airbnb. I downloaded the trip advisor app to reach a different market and increase my booking for dead months (usually 97-100% booked on Airbnb during normal months). Big mistake. There is no review system for the guests who book with me on TripAdvisor’s platform, so I don’t know if they were good guests in the past. As a matter of fact, I don’t even see any info of the guy until I send them an offer. Being new to the platform, I made an offer thinking I’ll see the information afterwards. They took my offer, and I was immediately bound to the booking, still with no idea who is coming into my house. I live in the house and rent out two private rooms. Not being able to see who’s coming into my primary residence makes me worried about my personal safety. When I called customer service to cancel the booking, the agent was very impatient with me and told me there would be a $150 charge for cancellation, 3x what Airbnb charges. Spoke to the manager, and she says she will give them a call to verify their identity. That’s only a temporary fix and I would have to do that for every request I get with them if I were to continue hosting. They kept saying they don’t want to cancel my reservation and it seemed to me they were more worried about the money than about making me feel safe as a host. Overall, my experience hosting on TripAdvisor is horrible and I would never use them again until they come up with a better solution for this issue.

I rent two apartments and a house on Airbnb and Homeaway and thought that adding another platform would be a no brainer… Boy was I wrong. I have not had one positive rental experience from TripAdvisor in over 2 years. From over-needy guests, to scammers attempting to book last minute, horrible customer service, exorbitant fees and add-ons, and the list could go on and on. Please don’t waste your time like I did with this platform. I’m sure they will be out of business soon enough.

Tried to load new photos on 3 different devices. Message said it was compatible, try another device,all times. Impossible to navigate site. INCOMPATIBLE with many SMS and makes you go to inbox on site. Will not allow certain communication with guest until they pay ENTIRE fee, even after paying deposit. If a guest asks specifics of neighborhood, How transportation goes,your last name etc or ANYTHING A guest might need to know for planning their trip or safety/ accessibility concerns, site deletes your message and guest thinks you did not bother to answer them.

I have my property listed with Trip Advisor but when I try to enter and respond to an enquiry it is impossible to find it in my inbox. It seems there are two conflicting apps - one with my listing and the other saying not completed. Either one is virtually impossible to manage.

I’ve recently added TripAdvisor to my vacation rentals strategy and compared the the Airbnb app, it is disappointing. I cannot check anything because the login screen pops up and disappears before I can log in and doesn’t show me anything. You could learn a lot from Airbnb. I guess I will have to use my laptop to manage guests. Boo.

The app has worked flawless so far, no bugs or issues. Also it is the most functional amongst other owner apps like Airbnb and VRBO. You can edit the listing, adjust seasonal pricing, send quotes and complete the booking

And good luck. Still and for so long work m progress. Still trying to imitate Airbnb and still fall behind. Trying to update the calendar is question of luck; sometimes you will be able to save changes, sometimes you will not!! When replying a customer, if your phone receive an alert the application will refresh your screen and all your message will be deleted!!!! Try to contact customer service, GOOD LUCK!!! Very frustrating.

If you don't give users an option to sign up... You failed usability test #1. Though I assume all your regression tests start with logging in... Not actually signing up as a new user. All there is - is a user name and password field with a forgot password link and sign in button. Even if you enter in info that isn't recognized no subsequent option to sign up. Call your QA manager ... Quickly.

This app is poorly designed and has obviusly been rushed through production. The User Interface is at best average but its the small bugs that get to you. For instance when trying to change the status of a date in the calendar, pressing in it makes the app think you want to make a phone call. Use Airbnb if you want a better app.

I love this app, haven't had any issues booking, getting messages and keeping up with calendars for my properties, have had a 30% increase in bookings due to the timely response rate I can give clients and I can make quick changes to my listings anytime I want...Really easy to use, really awesome job, don't change anything😊

If you have a previous version, DO NOT Upgrade to this one!! I recently updated the app and what a mistake that was. The app is now constantly refreshing/updating itself every time I try to do anything. Or when I switch between this and other apps. Often when responding to inquiries I switch between this app and others to copy and paste info and now when I do that it resets itself and does not save what I had just written. The interface hasn't changed much from previous version, but at least before it didn't freeze and constantly refresh. Horrible update. #Tripadvisor, hope you're reading this and fix the bugs soon. PLEASE! (using on iPhone 6s-64GB, iOS 9.2)

I currently have listing on this site and Airbnb, and the difference with both applications is astounding. It's always crashing, or freezing. You can't update your listing and consolidate calendars. I'm not sure why this takes so much money from my listing, they aren't applying it to make this application any better.

As a brand I love TripAdvisor, but this release is so incredibly bad that I have major doubts about the model if using the TA brand in tandem with vacation rentals. I should say I was already unimpressed with FlipKey, but I had assumed that it was acquired by TA and therefore legacy as far as development and code. This new app is astonishing in its tone deafness to the sharing economy and what short term rental owners are used to from AirBNB and competitive interfaces. The design and typography are extremely hard to read and tiny. The interface looks like it was put together by a coder without the very least amount of design. It has so few valuable features that it makes me wish I had my old FlipKey back just because at the tie of its release at least they tried to provide something. Summarily across the board this app is an insult to the people who align with TA to leverage the TA brand with their properties. I will wait about three months and if this app is not improved I plan to remove my listing from TA all together and stick with AirBNB who knows how to design for the customer and outs user experience first. This was a sad and complete mis-step for TripAdvisor.

No option to sign up?? FAIL

If you don't give users an option to sign up... You failed usability test #1. Though I assume all your regression tests start with logging in... Not actually signing up as a new user. All there is - is a user name and password field with a forgot password link and sign in button. Even if you enter in info that isn't recognized no subsequent option to sign up. Call your QA manager ... Quickly.

Calendar no longer works for owners w latest update - instead of letting you choose which dates to edit/block, it now asks you if you want to "dial the number"... SO LAME!!!

Overall Ok but has some issues. Need to be able to archive inbox messages in app and not lose messages if you switch between app and other apps. You lose your work when you switch.

This app is poorly designed and has obviusly been rushed through production. The User Interface is at best average but its the small bugs that get to you. For instance when trying to change the status of a date in the calendar, pressing in it makes the app think you want to make a phone call. Use Airbnb if you want a better app.
Syncing

Please bring back the "gear" on the calendar page that let's me update/sync the calendars. It's too risky to wait for it to be done automatically. Doing it manually is time consuming.

It would be nice if I could actually use the app. It opens to a login page with nowhere to sign up if you don't have an account already. I'm not going to take the time to create an account in my browser when it should clearly be an option within the app. Good luck with this one.

For such a big company, their app is buggy and lots of lag. there's been many times it crashes and I have no idea if it's sent the message/actually accepted the request.

When try to use this app it straight goes to a section for travelers who are looking for a place to book. Do not give me any option to switch from traveler mode to vacation owner mode.

The app is terrible. As a host it seems impossible to respond to a booking inquiry without sending a quote and you get very little information about potential guests. As for app support.. good luck it is non-existent.

I see the app and it let's me "open" the app from my email but I don't have it downloaded on my phone! I had it on my old phone but it's not on my new phone. Some kind of glitch.

Takes you to an Apache auto generated error page about get methods failing. Wow. Worst app I've seen. Even worse than HomeAway.
