Set up a habit 2. Tell HabitBull how you went for a day 3. Watch your daily streak increase Habits are no more than routines which you perform subconsciously. To build one - train yourself. To break one, find another one which is similar, yet different and nicer, and repeat it until it sticks. To assist you with this HabitBull lets you set reminders for each habit and displays them on days when you need to be successful. This is especially useful if you have a to do list with repeating tasks or if you want to be reminded to do the same thing every day. It can also be used as a calendar planning tool or checklist, but also as a very effective repeating reminder (e.g. to drink water every 2 hours). HabitBull does feel a little like a game in which you compete with yourself. The task is to get a long streak for the habit you are working on by covering your goals. The longer the better. It takes a couple of months to fully build a new routine, so don't give up - it takes time and if you are consistent it will work; even if it takes a few attempts. Best Habit Tracking App
by SagarSadhana on 2020/11/24 02:20
I was sceptical using this app. It turned out to be more productive for me. It helped me understand my pattern of habit tracking and thus keeping me on my toes to achieve things with discipline. It is like a target you can set up and be happy every day you click that day as success boosts your confidence to push yourself further. Appreciate all your efforts on this app :)
Really Helps w/ Scalp Scratching!!!!!
by LaSkoolPnk72 on 2020/11/21 21:36
Makes me aware of my habit! I love this app!
Keeps Changing End Date
by ANTIFA Super Soldier on 2020/11/20 22:25
I have no idea why I don’t see anyone else talking about this but the app repeatedly shifts my habit’s set end date, which makes it very difficult to track progress. Instead of counting down the days, the “days to completion” number stays the same, which results in the end date repeatedly getting pushed out with each passing day. And this is with me meeting my habit goals every week. Super annoying. Notifications also seem to be a weird greeting generator so you’ll have it saying things like “Bonjour general!” and “Aloha cheeky monkey!” unless you turn them off.
Love this app
by PixelQ on 2020/11/08 19:58
This app is a daily fixture for me. I love it. Two (hopefully) small requests. First, I'd like to export my data, modify it in excel (to add comments en masse), then reimport it. Second, I already track some habits via other apps (like Fitbit). Nevertheless, I love the visual aspect of this app. It would be great if there was integration with IFTTT or some other apps so that some of the habits could be automatically tracked. I have tried to export multiple times and it keeps claiming I have no email address set up Lastly, you might get more converts from other apps if you had a quick 'import your data' option in the settings page. It's the best habit app on the market and I want it to do well.
Just broke all of a sudden
by soonrgrl1977 on 2020/10/26 11:27
I used this app every day for the last couple of weeks. Bought the premium subscription also. Then yesterday (25 October 2020) it just stopped working. It shows the little red circle with the number of habits to complete but when I try to open it, it crashes and shuts down. I've tried everything. Quit the app, and reopened. Same thing. Uninstall, reinstall, sign-in again. Same thing. Something has gotten corrupted because I cannot use the app at all now.
Pop-up
by JamesJK26 on 2020/10/20 14:19
Annoying pop-up, I enjoy the app and use it to track things but this pop up comes up every time I open the app for a subscription. Either charge an amount like 2.99 and keep the sub as an option.
Sync Problems
by User4648 on 2020/10/20 13:26
I like the app but it does not automatically sync between my iPhone and iPad. I understand that there is a manual way to do it, but with a paid app especially I should not have to do it manually. It is a very inconvenient way to work the app. I do not have this problem with any other app.
Easy to use, easy to track!
by Yoyodad_1138 on 2020/10/17 11:28
It’s a nice app for being free. Could use a few more extras but it works. Easy to see progress and understand, easy to adjust. All around, it’s pretty ok.
Great!
by rachiecarey on 2020/10/13 11:41
Used this to kick my social media habit. Will certainly use it for more good habit building.
Crashing a lot
by CaliAlly76 on 2020/10/10 20:53
Glitching a lot recently. So bummed it’s one of my fave apps
Not free, in-app purchase annoying
by alexkywalker on 2020/09/28 21:19
Not free and there is no “in-app” purchases disclaimer when you download the app. After that your welcome experience is like this: “try free for 7 days then pay or hit the road” I hit the road
Works great until...
by dfhutdbj on 2020/09/18 17:14
After using and enjoying for a couple months it now won’t let me open the app without trying to force me to pay to get into my data.
Annoying pop up
by kt.munchkin on 2020/09/17 02:24
I have used this app for years and overall it’s a wonderful app, but since the last update every time I open the app it prompts me to purchase premium. Every. Single. Time. It’s so annoying dealing with that pop up, I’m honestly looking for a new app to use. I understand an app wanting to make money but the pop up is so frequent it makes me not want to use the app. If they want the $$ so bad they should just charge $2.99 or smth to download the app...
Great app to stick to habits!
by NT147 on 2020/09/04 02:48
Its free version offers tracking up to 5 habits. That’s what I need precisely. I can see all progresses in graph and there are posts from people who are following similar habits. Overall it is a great app to build new habits and commit to them. I love this app! Highly recommended.
Great Habit Tracker
by Kalici1114 on 2020/09/01 15:13
Easy to use and nice design. I like that it’s easy to view all my habits at a glance and can track most with 1-click.
Best habit app ever!!!
by yodahew on 2020/08/30 11:44
This is a very wonderful app, it helps me track my daily goals. I feel so exited when ticking the habit i have completed that day. It sorta has a support group where u can share goals and results and motivational quotes. I can't thank u enough for this app. Shoutout to the developers👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Easy to use
by Kumitekat on 2020/08/28 14:59
This app is easy to use and I like that I can quickly add my successful habits in the daily view and then switch to monthly progress to look at the big picture. Lost a star because while I do like that there are a lot options for setting habits, I wish there was some way to just track successful overall minutes for the week in addition to setting minutes goals by day or week. More options for viewing data instead of just success/failure I suppose would be nice. I am also not enjoying looking at the hiker every time the app opens. Can’t we just have the beautiful view of the mountain and take her out of it? But that’s a small thing. They are both small things. I recommend everyone get this app and start making a difference in their lives. Overall, I’m enjoying it.
Third grade support
by mbdeir on 2020/08/25 17:38
I sent an idea for improvement I got crude response and my support ticket was closed. It made me feel like they do not appreciate their users, therefore I uninstalled the app.. there are plenty of other apps that do the same. I’ll look for one but I will never come back to this one. It seems like the paint peanuts for people to do their support and there’s no quality control over that. Shame.
Restore landscape please
by Oh, Mom on 2020/08/23 13:50
Since a recent update, I can only use this great app in portrait mode, which makes it harder to look back and see entries from previous days. Please restore landscape as an option.
Simple yet powerful
by David sz on 2020/08/14 22:30
This app is super easy to use and incredibly flexible. So far my first bad habit is almost broken!
Gives me credit for my exercise
by Tx Exerciser on 2020/08/13 20:05
It tells me how I’m doing compared to my goals. Love the cumulative percent for each sport/exercise I do.
Awesome
by Ya218 on 2020/08/13 16:25
Awesome app to stay on track with your daily goals!
Simple and effective
by mac in burke on 2020/08/13 12:11
Once I set up the reminders (several through the day for each habit) the app really helps me stick to the tasks to accomplish my goals.
Bad sizing and color
by SKoucout on 2020/08/07 03:29
On iPhone 11, it is small and doesn’t fill screen. In addition, the app is black font on dark grey background. Can see anything.
The Return.. Uh oh
by pipprnz on 2020/08/02 13:18
I used HabitBull several years ago and finally decided to come back and try building my routines again. I remember loving the app and interface and was excited to get started. However, shortly after opening the app I saw that the color scheme was off. I’m not sure if this is just an instance for my phone, but I tried updating and nothing worked. Here’s the issue I’m seeing (since I can’t seem to share a screen shot): When I add a new habit or even go to the setting screen, the background for each line is dark gray, and the words are black. Thus, I can’t read what the words say for each line and it’s extremely hard to see any words without my phone brightness on 100%. Is this is a known issue or is there a way to fix this? If I can get back to it being normal, I will gladly update my review to the 4-5 stars I was expecting from this great app. Carl
Abandoned?
by DisappointedCustomer987654321 on 2020/07/27 13:43
I’ve used this app for years now, and love it! However, the Export to CSV functionality isn’t working, the website returns 403 Forbidden, and support emails are ignored. Update: The latest update doesn’t work properly with dark mode. Export to CSV appears to lock up the app.
Everything in writing is darkened
by Renzo Fortini on 2020/07/26 14:21
I cant see anything in the fonts because everything is black so i can read the letters
So close to perfect
by GoldNellers on 2020/07/20 04:27
I downloaded this app unaware that it wasn’t formatted specifically for iPad, so I was confused when I couldn’t find an option to make the font smaller. I wanted badly to be able to zoom out because everything was so big on my iPad. I then realized that it was actually the phone version just displaying really big, with no option to make the text smaller or do some other adjustments to see more habits at one time. I adore the colors. I adore the layout and the way you easily just tap to check in and you can do it for every day and keep track even if you go over your goal. Lots of apps only let you "check in" that you completed a task for the max days you said you wanted to do it, so if you go over you can’t record that. This app lets you at least see and record that you did it (but can your percentage then go over 100%? I forgot to check...) I just wish this was formatted for iPad! (and someday desktop!) I just want to see more of my habits at a time and not feel like a grandma who can’t see. (No offense to grandmas and the blind)
F'ing paywall
by realvadim on 2020/07/19 15:17
No, will definitely not pay $19.99! Bye!
Have LOVED this app...until now...
by LCMO27 on 2020/07/18 11:48
I have been using this app for well over a year; it WAS great, simple, motivating. But starting this week, when I open the app, it goes to a page that wants to charge me $19.99 to use the app. It won’t even let me access my prior data. Every day I open it, hoping that it is fixed. But it won’t let you do anything at all in the app now, without agreeing to the fee and the trial period. Including seeing my history. Incredibly annoying. If they don’t fix this I will have to find another app. 😟
Stop blocking the app with a pay request

Remove dark mode

How do I remove dark mode for only this app?
Used to be free
by SSSStttttttttt on 2020/07/16 23:29
Why charge now?
Why are you forcing people to pay for a free app
by Cabli on 2020/07/16 16:00
Extremely annoying pop up to pay 19.99.
Easy way to build and track habits!
by Zlassenp on 2020/07/16 15:04
I have many habits that I maintain on a daily or weekly basis, and this app makes it so easy and fun to track all of them - whether I do something daily, on certain days of the week, or on a certain number of days per week. It’s changed my life!
No longer free
by disgruntledreviews on 2020/07/15 01:29
Out of the blue when I opened the app today, I was greeted with a screen which -seemed- like upgrading to premium for $20 was an option, but it wasn’t. Why am I suddenly being forced to pay a subscription for an app which has been free, with no warning? Will be deleting and looking elsewhere.
Don't use this app!
by jlt00c on 2020/07/14 05:21
This is a paid only app now! There are plenty of other habit apps like this that are FREE.
Good app, but just got aggressive
by AmberAAZ on 2020/07/13 22:53
I’ve been using HabitBull for a year now to help manage long projects (like reading every book I own, keep room clean, etc.). I’ve often wanted to upgrade but my finances are not at a place where I can justify in app purchases. So I resolved to use the free version until I pay off all my debt and get to a place where I’m comfortable spending. This last week, the app got really aggressive. I opened it to check off that I cleaned my room and it gave me a pop up asking me to buy it. Okay, I thought, can’t fault it for trying. I clicked on the x at the top, but instead of giving me the data screen, it acted like I’d tried to make a purchase. I cancelled it and it said purchase failed, but the screen stayed up, preventing me from entering my data for the day. (Several hours later I managed to enter the data before I got the pop up again, with the same issue) I’m hoping this is just a glitch, and will soon be fixed, not a punishment for longtime users who haven’t upgraded. Other positives about the app. I love that it lets you backtrack or go ahead. When one of my goals is to read a chapter a day, it’s nice to be able to make up days when I couldn’t get to it, or read ahead in anticipation of a family gathering/job/ class where I know I won’t have time.
Terrible Purchase Popup
by JayT1029 on 2020/07/12 18:26
Every time I open up the app, it will without fail immediately open an in app purchases page without any action of my part, and if I touch any part of the screen it tries to confirm the purchase. Worked great originally, but either I made a mistake or the developers ruined a perfectly good app. I was considering upgrading to premium but after this there is no chance.
Paid App
by customer111816 on 2020/07/12 13:14
Horrified that you must pay to use this app without any warning to long term users. I have been using the free app for 4 years and without warning you are now needing to pay for it. I activated the free week, saved all my data, and canceled. While I realize it is a minimal cost for a longtime user, there are better apps to use for the cost. I’m disappointed there isn’t a free option.
App seems stuck on purchasing the paid version
by dalsop tunes on 2020/07/12 13:01
Since the last update, they seem to want to force you into purchasing the paid app and not use the free one. I have to hit the “x” several times before it will open my habit I am tracking. I have recorded over 800 days consecutive snd don’t want to lose my records.
New update ruined the app
by 73737465093837&4 on 2020/07/12 02:26
I don’t know how you an update could introduce so many glitches and make the interface of the app regress to a quality you would see in 2008... But I guess that’s where we are.
Loved until premium
by RockNRunMelissa on 2020/07/12 01:03
I loved this app and used it daily until the premium pop up debacle. I’m not paying $20 for an app. Sorry.
Used to be good
by vvsfbvscjkd on 2020/07/09 18:17
Updated from feedback from user experience? The invasive “pay for HabitBull” pop up is annoying, and even more annoying is I can’t exit out of it. I press the “X” and there is another pop up asking me to pay for it. I was happy using it for free yesterday, and it helped me keep habits. I really like the app, so I ask that can be fixed ASAP so I can go back to using it.
Constant premium pop-up
by J-Wolfdog on 2020/07/09 15:02
Would be five stars without the incessant pop-up trying to get me to pay $20/year for premium. Several times it's popped up as I try to tap something else, and it starts the purchase process so I have to cancel out of it. Really helpful app, but a bit over-aggressive marketing really taints the experience.
Bad UI
by mimghaaf on 2020/07/08 14:33
The UI was really awful I downloaded it and immediately after opening app I’ve deleted it because of the bad user interface
Something is definitely broken
by ziyadAbouelenin on 2020/07/04 07:49
The app screen is smaller than the phone screen. I Can not add reminders. The picture used by default when opening the app before entering passcode, why can’t I change or just eliminate it? It worked better on my Android device
Totally unusable in dark mode
by Parki3n on 2020/06/29 04:04
I loved the idea of this app and the look of the screenshots, but it’s totally unusable in dark mode. You can’t see any text at all. I wish the developer would update it so I could give it a try.
Super good!
by commonrivers on 2020/06/24 04:21
Helps me keep my priorities in order! Easy to use, too!
Odd choice of loading screen and no iPhone X screen size support
by Pooterny on 2020/06/17 14:58
I like this app and recommend it frequently. Would be five stars save two things: 1. They have not updated the app for the iPhone X screen ratio. 2. For some reason they have an attractive girl in leggings from behind as their splash/loading screen. I recommend this app to my clients for use with their nofap goals and it’s just not great. Also it just seems random.
Great app
by IceCream512 on 2020/06/16 18:36
This app is one of the best habit trackers in the App Store. For this app, you don’t have to pay to use it and you could add up to 5 activities without paying. You can customize the activity to fit in your schedule and you can chose a cute color to go with it! This is a great app and I hope it keeps getting better and better.
What I was looking for!
by jerlin0111 on 2020/06/14 16:49
I can track upto 5 habits with the free version. That is more than enough for me. The interface is easy to use and is keeping me on track.
Awesome app!
by CynZol on 2020/06/07 10:31
I love the personification in the notifications, it’s like a best friend is helping me reach my goals! The analytics and data views of my progress are also very helpful! It’s like I have a motivational coach for all the things I want to do in my life! So happy with this purchase.
Great App to Keep Yourself Accountable
by Tessie Mueller on 2020/06/02 14:46
The app is pretty “no frills,” but it’s nicely customizable, including options to set reminders throughout the day. I suffer from anxiety-induced repetitive behaviors like skin picking and hair pulling, and this app has been incredible for the past few months at honestly tracking my progress and providing me with daily reminders to help me train myself out of it. I look forward to using it to work on other health and lifestyle goals too!
Zebrabee88
by Zebrabee88 on 2020/05/30 23:15
Easy to use though I would like an option for things I would like to do once or twice a week without having to assign the exact day. Still new to it but I am looking forward to getting it done every day!
Customized options are great!!
by Amy Crook 22 on 2020/05/30 18:51
I like the ability to write what habit you want. Very beneficial for dreamers that get results. That way business goals and any personal goals can be made the way you need it that will help you to hit your next target!!
Basic app
by BJoe314 on 2020/05/22 17:33
Facebook login doesn't work, and it told me my email wasn't real (I made sure to type it correctly). The resolution is for the pre-iPhone X screens
Yoga for a year and counting!!

Exactly what’s needed to build new habits
by domino1234567990 on 2020/05/13 04:03
Not so visually appealing as other apps and has fewer features, but that's the very reason it makes it way better than those fancy ones. You need simplicity in your habit-building routine and not 9000 bells and whistles.
Lost the chat forum section
by Ottothemad on 2020/05/13 03:17
That’s key to change, being connected. It never comes up anymore on my app. I’m a paying customer and would think this would be fixed.
Overall good
by nikki737495 on 2020/05/11 20:09
Overall I really like this tracker. I upgraded to premium to be able to track more which is great. 4 stars because it won’t sync with my iPad which is disappointing.
Great app for building better habits!
by lifelonglearner24 on 2020/05/11 18:02
I have been using this app for a couple years now, on and off, and it has helped me build and reinforce positive habits. Giving you a success percentage is especially motivating! It is very customizable as well. Highly recommend if you are serious about building better habits! Change your habits, change your life.
Great app

This is a great App that keeps me on track with my habits.
Cheat their customers
by carlboulder on 2020/05/04 03:14
I bought HabitBull for a fixed price before they moved to a subscription model. I tried contacting them several times to ask them to honor my membership. Absolutely no reply, not one. Since I was already hooked, I nonetheless bought a subscription, but resented that they cheated me. Now I’ve found a far better app and have cancelled my HabitBull subscription. These guys clearly don’t have any integrity. I recommend finding another company to do business with.
No longer syncs
by Thursday _89 on 2020/04/30 14:52
Been premium member for 3 years, but because the sync button no longer works, I’ll never be able to sync my habit progress to a new device. Also it's laggy. These 2 issues are major red flags that the developer has abandoned us.
Easy to Use
by Allison Crenshaw on 2020/04/29 13:20
The interface is really simple and easy to use. I love the design and I love that you don’t necessarily have to check something off the day you did it to count it. Sometimes I forget to mark down a goal completed that day or I finish my goal after midnight but before bed, so that feature helps me keep my streak accurate.
Best app ever - once you get it open without crashing!
by Oughterard on 2020/04/28 17:22
This is the best habit tracker out there - hands down... if it didn’t crash. It perfectly suits my needs for developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle and reaching my learning goals. My only issue is opening it is such a pain. It sometimes crashes up to 5 or 6 times- or more to get the app started. I still paid for premium despite this flaw, but if I find a competitor that has a similar setup I’ll switch over in a heartbeat because it is annoying. Once the app successfully opens - it never crashes but I’m concerned for data loss.
Ripoff artists
by LudditeRising on 2020/04/27 19:29
Paid for a year subscription. Had to get a new phone a couple days later. I can't get access to my account, the password reset email never came (it's told me it's been sent a few times). Never received a reply to email contact attempts. It's been like five months.
Crashed
by harleyquinnzel on 2020/04/23 11:46
I hadn’t used the app in awhile, so I decided to download it again. It was my favorite habit tracker. I logged in and saw all my old habits and wanted to start fresh. As I deleted them, the entire app crashed. It wouldn’t load at all. I’m really disappointed.
Helped me quit smoking!
by lee_p02 on 2020/04/19 23:37
This app is incredible helpful for any goal you have or habit you’re trying to create for yourself. You set your own parameters for what “success” looks like to you. The app makes you feel good when you succeed daily and makes you aware of when you’re falling short without inciting self-hatred. You can create multiple goals and the interface is straightforward and easy to navigate. Whenever you reach a benchmark it lets you know and cheers you on. ☺️ I don’t normally write reviews for apps but this definitely an APP GEM. 10/10 would recommend.
Great!

Exactly what I was looking for.
Accountability & Rewards Work
by Favre241Rods on 2020/04/03 18:07
This app has kept me accountable and I love the occasional badges or awards by continuing a streak. This app is one of the few apps that allow you to go back in the calendar if you have been completing a goal on your own before starting HabitBull.

Have been using this app on & off for a few years now. It’s very simple to use and it seriously helps me stay on track with my goals. The app never gives me any issues and they have many different features. I love it!!
Not updated, habits require an end date
by tookmyname on 2020/02/20 14:09
You cannot create a habit to track without setting a goal date. I have no idea what goal date to choose, as some habits form more easily than others. I don’t care about an artificial goal, I care about the tracking. Putting in a fake goal seems wrong. Also, the app hasn’t been updated for the larger iPhone X screen, which means it hasn’t been in development for several years.
Expensive!
by bijaraara on 2020/02/17 17:39
I really like how this app works and looks. It’s probably one of the most useful tracking apps on the iphone. That being said it’s $20 a month to join premium. That is a ton of money to just track things. I wish it was like $5-10, It would probably be worth that to me. Sad I’m not going to be able to use this app.
Great App
by Ardymus on 2020/02/13 00:22
Overall this is a great APP. There are two features I would like to see added. Therefore, I took off two Stars 1) Don’t limit me on what day of the week I want it to start on. I give a weekly report and I send that on Wednesday. I shouldn’t be limited to my week starting on Sunday or Monday only. I would like mine to be Thursday so Wednesday is my last day of the week. 2) When creating a new Habit I want to be able to say when a week is successful, not just a day. Example: When I “do something” “at least” “5” “times” a day. —> I should be able to put: When I “do something” “at least” “5” “times” “4” “days” of the “week”.
Used to be good
by OnyxDragonKnight on 2020/02/10 14:29
This app has not been updated, causing the rating to fall. If you are looking for a simple app to track habits then this one works well. There are lots of premium features that add in some key items I would like, but I’m not going to pay a subscription to a company that doesn’t come out with an app update in a year. This app looks terrible on new phones and has no iPad app.
Great!! Has all the features for tracking
by Colorado55 on 2020/02/07 22:41
I’ve been using a very simple habit app for over a year, but realized I needed to change something because I’d do the habits for a while and then stop logging and checking progress. After listening and reading several habit related topics/podcasts I kept coming across the 80/20 idea. Basically, instead of being “good” or “bad”, as long as you shoot for compliance 80% of the time that might prevent you from dumping the whole effort after repeated “failures”. I looked through about 6 or 7 popular habit apps and this one seemed to have the best/easiest visual showing percentage adherence to goals based on various denominators ((day, week, month). I’m not far into my 80/20 experiment, but this app seems to be the easiest for assessing adherence in such a way. I will say that entering each habit was a bit of a pain, but it is completely customizable so that is great.
Unable to sync
by vhan168 on 2020/02/05 18:04
Returned to app after more than a year of inactivity. Delete all data and started from scratch, even reset the password. Then reinstalled and purge all data stored on device. Was able to login successfully, but synchronization still does not work. Tested on both iOS and Android.
Just crashes

This used to work well. Now it just crashes every time I try to add a habit
Can’t Register
by LizaWStarr on 2020/02/03 04:53
My mom recommended this app, so I downloaded. Once I opened the app, it gave me the option of registering by email or Facebook (or not at all). I decided to go with email, it after I created a password and hit enter, nothing happened (except a spinning wheel). After several tries, I went back and opted for the Facebook connection (not my preference). I could t get that to work either. Make it easier people!! Just deleted this app and will look for something else... “ain’t nobody got time for that!”
App hasn’t worked properly since iOS 13
by lminda22 on 2020/01/31 12:42
1-31-20 - still no update after multiple attempts at contact. I loved this app before iOS 13. I paid for this app. Don’t bother buying it or even using it until they update it.
Goal tracking numbers flawed
by Jubeffy on 2020/01/31 05:18
I like the simplicity, but there is an error tracking goals with number requirements. When setting goals, you choose yes/no (you did it or did not do it) or number goals (you track a specific number of something). When you set a number goal, the default is “not more than” so you can put something like consume “not more than” 1500 calories. When the app actually creates the goal, it switches “not more than” to “at least”. So now the goal is only accomplished if you eat 1500 calories OR MORE. I have written to them at least 3 times and have only gotten an automated response. The problem may be corrected in the paid version, but I won’t risk spending money on the paid one if the free one works this poorly and I can’t get support for the problem.

App is buggy and data syncing is unreliable — lost all habit data
by haebou on 2020/01/22 23:36
Data syncing is buggy and unreliable. App on new phone was not able to import data that was supposedly auto-synced to the cloud. App has issues logging out and logging back in— causing app to crash on launch and preventing access to data. There’s no way to import from csv, meaning that if the cloud syncing is broken, you have no way to access your existing habit history on a new device.
Simple but Useful
by Kreeuhn on 2020/01/20 17:45
The app is great at helping me keep up with my New Years resolutions. I haven’t had any problems with the IOS 13 update that other people have had so I’m assuming they fixed it. I wish they would tell us how to cancel our subscriptions in the FAQ (You can cancel it by going to the App Store, your Apple ID, and then subscriptions).
Awesome - but a minor bug with a workaround
by TinaMadison on 2020/01/16 21:41
I love this app. It doesn’t manipulate me with games, challenges, or social motivators. It doesn’t impose structure and time zones or a particular motivation theory. I don’t need all those outside voices! It does what I need: set simple goals that can be quantitative or qualitative; good or bad. Then it makes tracking and reporting very easy. But there is a minor bug. When you choose a numeric goal, you are given a choice for success. It is either to perform above target (over 5 miles a day), exactly at target, or under target (less than 2 drinks a day). Unless you scroll through the options (roll up or down in the field) it may give you the wrong choice when you click save.
App looked promising, then it asked for an email on the first screen
by Tekkub on 2020/01/14 02:55
The app also hasn’t been updated in a year, it was incorrectly sized for my phone we screen. They’re going to ask me to pay for an app they’ve clearly abandoned?

Really love tracking my habits with Habit Bull! Super easy & intuitive
Premium features don’t work
by sbcrab on 2020/01/12 23:55
I purchased the premium version specifically to use it on both my phone and tablet, because it said that premium could be used on multiple devices. It would never sync and I was left with different entries on each device even though I was logged in and other info such as my username appeared on both. Message to customer support went unanswered.
Beautifully designed but premium is way overpriced!
by reviewer974745733 on 2020/01/12 15:40
The app is beautifully designed, virtually bug free, and very effective for building habits. My big criticism is that the premium pricing is insane! $20 per year for a simple one-function app? $5 to $10 as a one-time fee would be reasonable. I’d love to pay for this, to support the great developers behind it, but that’s soooo far out of line. I would have rated this 5 stars if not for the insane upgrade pricing.

Data driven results
by Crys156 on 2019/10/03 10:27
If you work best seeing data ( how many drinks did I have each day, each week, a month, how long was I able to keep to my goals) then this is a simple and effective app. The free version allows you to track 5 goals, which is a good amount. I’ve had this for a long while and the visualization of my accomplishments (days exercised, meditation, quit drinking, any goal you have) or times I have trouble have been very helpful. My only note is that the “current month”and “current totals” are showing the same numbers. The “current month” doesn’t actually change within the month, it’s showing the totals since the goal was started, which is the same as “current total”. If the WONDERFUL writer of this app could adjust the “current month” to be the sum of each individual month, and totals to be accounting for the whole goal period, I WOULD BE SO GRATEFUL!
Great Functionality - try it & change your life
by Cdbeed on 2019/12/09 05:54
HabitBull works flawlessly as described. You can get creative with how you create goals/habits if they overlap slightly and make the most of the 5 allowed in the free version. One example, I started with 3 individual goals each for one a snack during the day; this used most of my goal but after a week I reworked that to be one ‘numeric’ goal with three timed reminders through the day. Even with reworking this and making more space in the free app, I’m contemplating purchasing a month to see how I like the further functionality. For me, I’ve been down the road of calendar appointments but that causes real scheduling conflicts as well as the world of too many iPhone “Reminders” that don’t repeat exactly how I’d like. HabitBull has solved all of these functionality issues in a sleek and straight forward program!
Used for over a year, seeing big changes
by habits are a blessing on 2019/01/06 15:44
UPDATE: I’ve been a long user, and tried to get premium but it seems they’ve upped premium to $20/yr. This is very steep considering that they formerly used to be a 1-time payment of $4.99. Can anyone explain this? An annual subscription for an app (no web version) is my only complaint, hence the 4-star rating I could never stick to flossing my teeth or working out until I downloaded this habit app. One of the most sufficient habit tracking apps for FREE that there is . It helps you set habitual times for when you’ll do your habit, and how you want to measure the completion of your habit. Clean interface, great community of people who may also share your habit! Only thing is I think there’s a limit to the # of habits you can have under a free account, but it doesn’t matter because change starts literally ONE HABIT AT A TIME, and I learned that the hard (but eventually satisfying) way. So try it!!!
Great way to form new habits!
by lilgothfaerie on 2018/09/08 00:13
I quit smoking using a different app and found myself with a new desire to improve my life. I was trying to get into the habit of doing various beneficial things and thought that an app that would effectively track my streak would be extremely helpful, because sometimes when the cigarette cravings got really bad I would open my app and think about my existing smoke-free streak. After some hunting I found this app which would work in a similar way and allow me to track up to five habits for free. It has been very helpful in creating and maintaining all of my desired new habits. It would be cool if they would add in like a “legendary” category for habits that have stuck, so that they don’t count as one of the developing ones anymore but so that you could still see your streak. But maybe that’s just me hehe
Best habit tracker I’ve found- Premium is worth it
by lpmcgrath on 2019/04/23 15:11
This habit tracker is amazing. The Premium subscription is totally worth it if you are setting multiple habits per day (I currently have 12). I love the functionality- editing and updating goals is easy and intuitive and the app offers a lot of flexibility- I take weekends off for some of my goals and this system of days on and off is really easy to set up. I have tried many varieties of habit tracking from pen and paper, planners, etc. and using this app on my phone has by far resulted in the greatest % of accomplishment and ease of reviewing. This app keeps me on track all day because it only takes seconds to open the app and quickly glance at what I need to do. Highly recommend!!!
Easy to use, customizable habits, motivational
by sddangelo on 2018/04/30 11:56
I started with a paper goal planner which was great for organizing the day but not do great for habit tracking to get to my goals. Do I decided to try an app. I read reviews (many) and downloaded 5 apps. After adding sample habits to each and tracking for a few days, I settled on HabitBull. I liked that I could have a mix of habits that were weekly and daily. Some that I could only track M-F for work. Some that tracked negative habits like no more than 1 drink on a work night. And counting habits like 8 glasses of water a day. It’s easy to open the app and tick off that I drank my water with each glass. It’s also so satisfying (and motivating) to see I met all my habits for the day. Keeps my going!! Love it!!!
ADHD under control
by CDMJ on 2018/07/21 13:24
Having ADHD has made my life a nightmare for years has been progressively getting worse over the years. This app was suggested in a book for ADHD organizing help so I thought I’d give it a try as I was getting desperate and I am absolutely glad that I did. This app has been such a help at keeping me on track and so far has been one of the few things that has seemed to work in helping me cope with my problems as a result of my disorder. I can’t thank the creators of this app enough, this truly has been a godsend for me. Even after I build up habits I will more than likely keep using the app so I don’t relapse back into my old habits and forgetfulness.
For those motivated by numbers
by ZenJam on 2017/10/11 19:13
Transforming a habit from theory to reality takes a lot of hard work - some folks use rewards to get there, some use positive feedback. But I'm an introvert that likes to chart progress with numbers and diagrams - that translates into something that motivates me. If this sounds like you, HabitBull is perfect. It's simple to use and also allows in-depth analysis. Its reminders aren't too intrusive, but they are helpful. Another bonus, especially compared with similar apps, is that the small fee which unlocks the premium features is a one-time fee, not one that hits you annually or monthly! Prove that you care about yourself and get this app!
Has all of the features I wanted. Especially...
by poly_sci on 2018/04/24 16:49
I like that this app allows me to track habits that occur multiple times in a day (namely, fruit and veg servings). That is something I found missing from most other habit apps. Those that did have it were not as easy to use. Other features important to me are to see my progress in all my habits for the week on one screen and the ability to update them all from that same screen. Handy and quick which is what I wanted. I also like the user customization options and the ease of entering data. This app for me has it all. Nice work, devs.

Almost perfect
by SatiMiriam on 2018/02/15 14:25
I find this app to be very motivating. Personally, I *hate* having those little red notifications on the corner of my icons. By having a countdown for which I have to complete my daily habits to make the number go away I am motivated to get them done. I used to remember to take my medicine maybe three times a week, if I take it daily (maybe I should add something for memory). My only complaint is that the notification number doesn’t appear until I go into the app for the first time each day. I have forgotten to take my meds once or twice after I realized that the number wasn’t there yet after leaving the house.
Works great
by Cynthia Ray on 2018/05/20 16:27
Such a pleasing and easy to use interface. Keeping my streak going and being able to see the graphs and numbers so neatly tracking my success is very motivating. The reminders are helpful and not annoying. I appreciate that premium is a one-time fee - well worth it to track more habits and be able to download the data. HabitBull has helped me stay more consistent with the habits I want to develop, for example remembering to drink water during days off too or encouraging myself to get enough sleep during the work week, not just on the weekend.
Streaks Lost Due to Year Change
by eisbare1986 on 2018/01/09 00:29
I have looked and looked and looked and cannot find a way to contact anyone about this app. I truly love the simplicity and design of this app, and it has helped me build some great habits. My qualm is that it could not / did not keep track of the streaks during the week of the new year. I believe there is an issue with the programming of the app that does not account for the year change properly. I would love to carry over my habits from 2017 into 2018, but the streak count started over on January 7th, the first day of the first full week of the year. I hope that someone from the app reads this as it was the only way I could think to get your attention.
Great motivation
by iidduussyyttoommuussyy on 2019/10/30 17:02
I have trouble sticking to new habits and have tried several apps. HabitBull has a good balance of simplicity and depth of data - it’s easy and intuitive to use, was easy to set up, and lets you look at your history / trends if you like to dig in to that kind of thing. It’s got a “don’t break the streak” component, motivational quotes and upbeat reminders. The app isn’t available for Apple Watch, but if you mirror notifications from your phone, you can still get reminders and check off habits via your watch, which I really appreciate.
I have become a multi millionaire after a week of using this app
by Tammer5 on 2017/10/24 12:13
No! I haven't become a multi millionaire, but I feel like a million bucks because I'm reaching goals and creating consistent habits because of the organization and liability that this app gives me. It's fun seeing your progress. Habits are hard to obtain, but for some reason this app gives you the push to take those first steps. I still have a ways to go, but it reminds me to keep moving forward even if I do mess up a day or two.
App has many problems and poor customer service
by HarborHeights on 2018/11/25 22:47
At some point the app stopped counting the number of days that I had been counting a habit and I had to write to customer service many times before they finally answered. They suggested that I delete all the data on my iPhone and then they tried to help me re-install all of it, but the app was not allowing me to re-install it, so again after writing to customer service many times, they asked me to send a screen shot of my phone to them. After viewing my screen shot, they told that there was a problem with their app and I would not be able to retrieve any of my data. This whole process was very time consuming. I would recommend finding a habit app that is not HabitBull.
Works! It really works!
by Joe Slaughter on 2018/04/01 23:40
No matter the habit if you want to form it than HabitBull keeps you honest with yourself in doing so than before you know it the habit actually sticks. I have the unlimited version. So literally any app that pops in my mind I make a HabitBull habit for it and it’s that simple. You can make it inactive if you like and back active whenever you. A great feature in itself. Overall I highly recommend this app if you’re looking to form good habits &/or break old ones.
Broken
by rexabilly on 2019/01/03 14:24
This app seems to be just what I’ve been looking for. Unfortunately it’s broken on the iPad. You can’t add habits. (It doesn’t give you any more options after the ‘Habit Name’ section.). Also, it’s not optimized for the iPad, just a port of the iPhone version that you have to increase in size that can only be used in portrait mode. For something that they’re charging an incredibly high price for the premium version ($20 a year? Yikes!) you’d expect more. As I said, this seems like it would be an incredible app and I’d consider purchasing it, but not for a broken implementation on iPad. For what they’re charging for the Premium version you should be able to use it on all of your devices.
Best habit tracker I’ve tried so far!
by awillisson on 2019/05/20 17:53
I’m really enjoying HabitBull for yes/no habits, but sadly the interface feels nonintuitive and hard to use for habits with a value, especially inputting (say, “I want to walk more” is hard to put in number of minutes walked after each walk, but “I want to go on more 30 minute or longer walks” is easy since it can be either done or not done. For yes/no habits, I especially like that “not done” is a separate log from “not logged”. It helps me track negative habits I’m trying to get rid of more easily
Hit your Target like this Bull
by Student HS on 2019/06/15 02:14
This is a very easy to use app, that’s flexible on every “type” of habit you want to do. It’s also easy to see and edit in its daily, weekly and monthly interfaces which flip like a “cube” when you press them at the bottom, it’s free for a limit of 5 habits!! Which is a little bit of a tease because of how easy it is to use, but it’s definitely a perfect start to prioritize which habits you want to pick up. The color names are also fun!
Missing some options
by ABC1234DEF on 2019/05/06 20:12
I love Habit Bull! It really keeps your goals organized. My only problem is that it is missing some options. It would be great to have the option to chose a time of day that you would like to complete a task by. A lot of my “Habits” need to be completed by the end of the day. I don’t want to have notifications asking me to complete the task if I haven’t reached my goal for the day yet. Otherwise the app is great. If they fixed that one problem they would have 5 stars from me.
Effective and efficient
by pgaler on 2019/09/28 11:37
Easy to set up and use. Motivates me to drink water everyday just to keep my streak going. I also use it as a calorie counter... I tend to have an 'all or nothing' diet approach and it helps me to stay on track even when I eat the "wrong" thing. I add in the calories and strive to stay under what I've set for the day. In the past, one cookie would have me throw in the towel and eat crap for the rest of the day. Habit Bill keeps me on track.
Super Practical
by P. Davide on 2019/07/28 19:51
The only app I’ve found that allows you to track five habits for free. Secondly, for me this is all about keeping myself motivated and being honest with myself when I fail. For this reason I like the fact habit bull does not use the unmotivating concept of a “check-in” as other apps do (Today) while they have no concept of “incomplete”. I need the clarity of “done” or “not done” and HabitBull provides that with a clear green check and red X.

I think I’ve gone out of my way to write a review, but this app deserves my time and 2 minutes of effort. No lie, I’ve used the best rated habit, prioritizing, and to-do apps on the market and HabitBull makes it easy and most importantly motivating and encouraging to keep a streak going and control of perimeters of the habit, you wish to have, or quit. This app is motivating by definition, in my eyes and that makes it successful and what will make you successful
No Notifications, No Icon Badge?
by dot.mac on 2018/02/17 03:20
I am testing the free version; so far, I have not been able to get notifications, and the app does not show up in the "Notifications" section on the iPhone Settings page. Also, no icon badge to show how many items are undone. I see from other commenters that I am not alone in having these problems. Those are very critical features, but otherwise, the app looks promising. Needless to say, I won’t be purchasing the premium version without these features being fully functional. I have written to the developer and will update my review based upon their response.
Doesn't even allow me to register
by Boby1928304 on 2018/01/04 04:22
I decided to download this app to fix some of my bad habits. I got a roadblock though as soon as I downloaded it. I wasn't able to register. I tried to register through email but it wouldn't stop loading. I waited for ten minutes but it was still loading. Since registering with email didn't work I decided to try and connect through Facebook. I connected and everything but the Facebook page would just close and bring me back to the main screen of habitbull telling m to register, login, or conenct through Facebook. Please work this out I would really like to use this app but I'm completely unable to.
Easy to use
by Kumitekat on 2020/08/28 14:59
This app is easy to use and I like that I can quickly add my successful habits in the daily view and then switch to monthly progress to look at the big picture.
Challenging to navigate at first.
by ArielJ23 on 2019/07/22 21:00
Would give a 5 star review but I had trouble figuring out where to navigate to different goals. Finally I realized I have to tap on the goal name. Wish there were more ways to navigate to different goals. Perhaps a button on the button to take you to a page where you can select a goal. Also, adding daily data to a goal could be a little more user friendly. The tiny toggle buttons and +/- signs are REALLY small and I have small hands.
Crashes trying buy premium
by Shermanl on 2017/08/31 19:57
Update: later in the day I removed reinstalled the app and was able to buy premium. Working now. maybe it was a server issue. Only issue I see now that if you have a task that is only needed twice (example Tuesday & Thursday) you still see it Every Day of the week. Other habit apps screen those out on the non relevant days. Maybe a good update developers? App crashes to desktop anytime you try to buy premium. I hope the account sign up and then the no premium issue was not just a email phishing scam?
Messes up the order
by sakahu on 2018/01/07 20:03
I input my habits but the app doesn’t keep them in order. How hard is it to put the last added habit last on the list? I dislike this because most of my habits are time-based. It should be easy to look at the daily list and see what comes next, instead I have to scroll through the whole list because the app doesn’t keep them in the order I added them. Instead it inserted the last added habit somewhere in the middle of my list. I’ve even tried numbering them or alphabetizing, it still keeps messing it up. The programming is weird and shoddy.
Seeing results with HabitBull is no bull!
by JoJo🦁 on 2017/08/25 06:24
I love this app!! Seriously kudos to the engineers who designed this! It's an easy interface and highly manageable to edit and customize. If you want community support you can even choose to engage in shared goals etc. The support of others in the app is an added bonus! I'm definitely going to be using this for life! There is always a new goal that takes a habit to achieve it;)
Great way to stay focused, be accountable
by jaybombxc on 2018/10/29 11:04
Terrific app! I especially like how it allows you to create habits customized by number of periods (not just daily habits). For example, you can aim to run 3 miles at least 4 days per week — as opposed to every single day. Too many of these apps only allow for daily habits, which doesn’t always apply. Of all the apps I looked into, HabitBull is the most flexible and simplest to use.
No iPad version.
by Aubjordan on 2017/12/04 21:25
Really good app. no iPad version though, so the usual version is all bloated and big, like they always are when it's a phone app trying to be compatible w an iPad. The biggest problem for me though is that the data doesn't sync between iPad/phone. It's supposed to, but every time it tries to, it crashes. Also, like other people have said, it'd be nice if you didn't have the pic of hiker woman's back as the start up pic. It'd be nice if you could choose, or just if it was something more neutral.
Awesome app for Change
by Takkit on 2019/08/06 09:55
This app is easy to use. You can use it for multiple habits. And, you can visually see your results. With an app like this, you have no excuse for not making or breaking your habits. My only reason for not giving it five stars is that there is no web integration. Being able to use it on my computer and my phone would be better.
The Best habit tracker!
by jrcrimmings on 2017/12/12 13:07
If you want to change your life for the better, make your goals and get this app. I tired many habit trackers, this was by far the best! Totally customizable, color coding, as simple or detailed as you want. Beautiful and simple design, easy to use. Free to try and if you want to go pro it’s only $4.99 to unlock pro forever (many similar apps have monthly memberships). Highly recommend! 🌟
Great app - a couple enhancements would make it 6 stars
by M&C user on 2019/03/28 15:02
It would be better if there were 2 improvements: 1- Ability to see the % of the time we track something, whether we succeed or not. I think tracking that I do track, regardless of failure or success, is a motivator. 2- Ability to pause all goals with a single button and pick them back up after a short period of time would be great. For example, a skip a week function for special holidays, or when we get sick, the flu etc. for all goals and be able to do it without being penalized. I like the visual reminders and the ability to see everything in detail, or at top level weekly and monthly. Good app.
Carl
Please UPDATE!
by FieryPotion on 2019/07/21 20:46
I love this app! It’s the best habit app I have found. I even bought the premium version. BUT it has not been updated in over a year! I’ve already emailed the developers, tried contacting them via Twitter, but it seems that they are gone!! With an iphone 10s, habit bull does not even fit the full screen. The screen size is so small and should definitely be increased! IDEAS: - Make another section for “Notes.” A separate section where I can see all the notes I’ve made for each day. For now, the only way I can view notes is by editing them. Please add a notes section! - Add more features for Premium users that would make the app better! The lack in update is really discouraging!!! I hope the developers are still active and update soon!!
Great App, One Small Improvement
by EvanNello on 2018/05/08 23:45
This app is simple, easy to use, effective, and free! The only thing I wish would be incorporated into the app is the tracking of a reward for completing the task on a daily basis. This will allow you to remember what you will give yourself for completing the task, and begin to form an effective neural habit loop! Adding to that, perhaps even the tracking of a cue for each individual habit.
