Unfortunately this is just a useless product Disney created to push on their customers. You likely will not be able to use it on any rides you’d expect and cannot get a refund after purchase whether you were able to use it or not. Thanks for ripping me off Disney.
Very hard to figure out

Ok I guess. Kinda expect more from Disney. The wait times are not real accurate and I feel like the app lacks info. Leaves me desiring more from Disney of 2019.

Logged into disney app but it does not recognize me when collecting achievements
Would like this update
by PrincipalScot on 2019/10/13 20:45
I like most everything about this app. The only thing missing in my mind is being able to see showtimes for a specific future date. It seems all I can find is showtimes today.
Extremely difficult to use.
by Dinh3Lo on 2019/10/13 20:24
app is not intuitive to use at all. Very confusing but to use.

Charged card twice
by Nicknametakenandtakenagain? on 2019/10/13 15:38

Internet keeps going out

Great tool!
Great idea Love it
by yes&sophi on 2019/10/12 23:37
It’s a great idea this app, this way you don’t waste time walking around all over the park to see how long is the line in each ride. Also to see the menus and more.... love it👍👍👍👍
by amithistCat on 2019/10/12 22:25
Never works in Disney land at all
by LineWaiter on 2019/10/12 21:10
Fastpass is a waste, not enough rides and time fluctuates too quick. Plus, only being able to do one reservation at a time is not efficient.
Not for us.
by WaltDisneysDick on 2019/10/12 20:53
Disney isn’t for Anaheim kids. Its prices are painful and my children will never know it like I did. It’s not fun anymore. Money is all that matters, and it will be the very last ticket we’ll get to buy. Just go away.
Cool app
by Kelkelz26 on 2019/10/12 20:51
Very nice but I wish they would add an option to pay for parking as well.

by Winmatt on 2019/10/12 19:19

Crashing and cancelling
by Pollllack on 2019/10/12 19:17
Crashes constantly, randomly cancels fast passes. Not intuitive to operate. Amazing that a multi billion dollar company can be so sloppy.

...and charges twice after crashing if you reorder. Be careful. Max pass is excellent
Mobile Ordering is a Mess
by Baileysuzanne on 2019/10/12 18:17
This app is very disappointing considering the money I spend to be an AP. The app randomly logs me out and I have to change my password. The app unlinked my pass. The mobile order program is pointless as I tend to stand in a line within a line because they don’t honor your arrival time.
Mint Julio Bar
by lsbenner on 2019/10/12 17:26
Hi Disney my love - challenging experience that I know isn’t Disney desired as you usually have such great customer service. We waited 45 minutes for our mobile order. The app says it will notify you when your order is ready - but doesn’t tell you still have to wait in the mobile line. So we waited and waited. We ended up cancelling by telling the cashier. Frustrating. Still love you but disappointed.
App not working!
by nlflyer on 2019/10/12 16:04

So disappointed
by @claz on 2019/10/12 15:28
I woke my entire family up early this morning to take advantage of the smaller crowds and almost all of the rides in California adventure are closed. I understand a ride or two but literally almost all of the rides. At this moment Radiator racers, toy story mania, incredicoaster, little mermaid, monsters inc, grizzly river rapids. Seriously? What did I pay over 2,200.00 for??

by ck2019Irvine on 2019/10/12 02:49
I was notified that my order is ready and now I’m in a line 30 people deep with others who have orders that are ready. This doesn’t make sense. I might as well have waited in the regular line.
Terrible app. Always demands WiFi
by unhappyMinnie on 2019/10/11 23:40

I’m a tech savvy person and I am ready to throw my phone across the park. Unless you have wasted a couple days figuring out the app good luck. Can’t do anything in the park until you master the app Now I have to spend the day staring at my phone and not enjoying the park and my family. Maybe I’ll cancel my second day and do something more fun tomorrow.

Max Pass Waste
by Smilebeth_live on 2019/10/11 18:38

by Mattielouise on 2019/10/11 17:44
Honestly this is the best app I have ever used. It is beautiful, intuitive, and helpful. I can store everything for my AP, make reservations, and get fastpasses. It has worked perfectly every time I have used it. I have never rated an app before, but felt this deserved it. Great job to the app developers on this one! Thank you!!

Nancy Costa
by Jmcostaaa on 2019/10/10 23:08
The lines were extremely long waiting for up to two hours for certain rides. Mini rides almost all of the rides we chose had breakdowns and we had to walk away after waiting over 60 minutes for some. Not a very good vacation of the last two days at Disneyland and I would give it up after minus rating. Has been very hard on my legs standing and very hard on my mind mentally not getting to go on rides that I waited so long for.
Not exactly Happy...
by JSBeatty on 2019/10/10 21:57
Paid extra for MaxPass but few big rides are even available at the Moment. Matterhorn, Thunder Mountain both down; Haunted Mansion, Space Mountain, and Galaxy Edge ride passes are not even available but lines are all over an hour or more. Next available fast pass is for Thunder Mountain after 9PM, over 6 hours from now?? Sorry but kinda disappointing since we don’t live in California and had heard crowds had been unexpectedly low after Summer’s opening of Galaxys edge.

by hyper frustrated on 2019/10/10 19:45

by djdhdnsm on 2019/10/09 23:09
Disappointed because we paid $15 dollars for max pass and the app was not working for 5 hours. Basically I paid $15 for the one fast pass we were able to get for late tonight. I understand that tech problems happen so I’m just throwing out my thoughts. 😊
App was down off and on all day
by RyunHovind on 2019/10/09 22:44
When Disneyland relies on this app to work for fast passes, it’s a real downer when it doesn’t really work all day. There should be 100 priority support to keep this app online on days when the park is open.
Really bad
by MACG27 on 2019/10/09 22:35
To summarize, very frustrating experience due to app crashing or not loading. Paid so much money for our first trip to Disney and missed out on many max pass opportunities due to the app not working. Also would not work for placing food orders. If it worked it would be a good app but it doesn’t!

Not happiest, busiest and no service
by Coach RoverChamp on 2019/10/09 21:30
Clearly too many people are let into the park without support and services. The app is not functioning and you can’t use your fast pass which you already purchased for to be able to get to the rides so that’s a waste of money. All in all this experience on this app has been awful. I highly doubt I picked the one day of the year where there were nothing but ridiculously long lines, no service, no app support, and fast passes didn’t work. We were warned but unfortunately we did not listen. I hope you do.

MaxPass is nothing short
by Bravo Otter on 2019/10/09 21:23
MaxPass doesn’t work today. Spent over 20 minutes waiting for someone to answer the help line, nothing but a recording telling me I can buy Disney soundtracks. Went to Guest Services, on the other side of the park, another 20 minutes and there is a very long line to get refund because no one’s app is working. And of course that’s the only way to find out the app is not working, or get a refund on the pass. Maybe next time work it into the recording on your “help” line, that the system isn’t working.

Disneyland Experience
by Fydhfdg on 2019/10/09 19:10
We are annual passport holders and make sure to budget it so we can renew every year We have been members since 2002 With growth comes change and we understand that but our experience today to getting to the parking to getting into the park was such a challenge We exited the freeway at 930am and we are now finally in at enchanted tiki 12:07pm first before we stopped here we wanted to eat at carnations They are not seating anyone without reservations which is crazy cause that’s what the Blue Bayou does so we didn’t eat We wanted to get a dole whip and they are only taking mobile orders The whole point of being at Disneyland is to enjoy your family and be off your phones NOT A GOOD START AT ALL!! But who cares right cause nobody is gonna read this cause so many people come to Disneyland a day that complaints won’t make a difference Just needed to vent My family will reconsider renewing our passes this year Very sad but it isn’t worth coming here when everywhere you turn you have a bad experience!! Thank you for your time Sincerely Paulette Ysais Annual passport holder since 2002

Beware Buying Tickets!
by iAC30 on 2018/07/09 19:15
Got charged for tickets that I never got. No confirmation number, email or any trace of the purchase within the app or anywhere else. Will never use this app to try to purchase tickets again. Error message of missing information. Checked and made sure my credit card number and names of people I was purchasing for were correct and I got the error message again, but still no tickets. Just a pending charge from Disney on my credit card when I checked my credit card account a few minutes later for $460. So upsetting while trying to buy two 2 day park tickets with MaxPass for some friends who are visiting with their kids to help lessen the cost for them. Instead I lose sleep the entire night waiting to see if somehow an email with the tickets would show up or if they would show within the app. NOTHING! Showed up at the ticket booth and there was no record of the tickets so I ended up paying again. Decided to just pay for two 2 day park tickets without MaxPass for $420. The previous charge of $460 is still pending on my credit card. Now I will have to find some time during the day to deal with this at guest relations.
True north would be nice.
by GMEC887 on 2017/12/01 18:43
The app was good. It could do some work with the search function to make it a little easier to find something. I like how you are tracked to know where you’re at but a third of the time we were on top of buildings that we could not walk on, like we were on top of space Mountain when we were not even close to space Mountain. Or we were walking in one of the lagoons when obviously we were walking on the sidewalk near it. It’s hard to find food/restaurants because even the little kiosks that sell just one item are marked as dining so it’s overwhelming to find something to eat. One of the things I did not like is that true north was not enabled. The difference that would make is that you would know whether you should turn right or turn left to get to a certain area. We had to refer to the physical paper map several times in order to find out where we were at and where we wanted to go. Which to me that makes they have useless. If you fix those things then I would give it a four or five star rating. The best thing about the app is that it gives you wait times for the rides. So you can plan your time more efficiently. I would download the app specifically for that reason only. And then use the hardcopy map for all the other stuff that you need to search for, like dining and restrooms.
Informative and easy to use
by OccupyThis on 2019/07/26 00:50
I went to Disneyland for the first time in about 16 years recently and this app proves that technology is indeed a beautiful thing. The app provides wait times for all attractions, which are accurate. The app also lets you know when an attraction is temporarily closed for maintenance or for some other reason. The app also shows restrooms, dining, and entertainment attractions on the map. You can search for different kinds of food and the app will show you which dining spots within the park have those items. You can also now order your food through the app and pick it up at whatever restaurant you have chosen. The app also stores your Disneyland ticket if you have created an account with Disney so you don’t need to carry the paper one. They just scan your phone at the gate. It also keeps track of your annual pass and provides calendars that show you your black out dates, if you have any. This app has never bugged out or crashed on me and I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks. This app is a must have for your Disneyland visit.
Terrible service, high prices, awful app
by cambrey01 on 2018/08/13 21:13
I’m a family travel blogger. This park is on the bottom of my list of places to visit. One problem after another. You have to buy tickets through them. There is no other way to purchase. Tried to purchase through app but got error message every time. Tried to call number given. The “customer service” agent hung up on me. Wasted a bunch of time trying to deal with all this and eventually just went to park and purchased. Got in line at customer service in park to see if they could give us a pass and assist on other ways. Employee comes by and asks what we need. We tell him and he says that is good and they will help inside. Get inside. They say they cannot help. Waited over an hour for nothing!! Finally get into park 4 hours after we were supposed to. Went to get a fast pass. Machine won’t work. The agent helping us with that was more pleasant than the others we have witnessed so far but I would not say nice. I WISH I could get a drink to calm my nerves as this place is horrible. Rude employees who give the wrong information, online applications that don’t work, and lines that are not controlled... won’t ever be coming back and will tell my clients to AVOID!! Most certainly NOT the happiest place on Earth but I’m trying to make the most of it because I spent WAY too much money to not try to have some fun and make memories with my children.
Can’t buy tickets from this site
by piv314 on 2018/12/31 20:55
I was trying to purchase tickets, put in credit card information as soon as I was complete my Amex showed a 1.00 pending charge that was used to see if card can go through , then when I tried to buy ticket it didn’t work and a red box came up with phone number to call because there are issues with app. When I spoke to that person they insisted I did not put my card in correctly, I tried to explain that the card works and your app did a test run for $1, so it’s not the card it’s the app. Well I gave up because she had no clue, for one of the largest companies in the world you figure there would be a better understanding. My son has some challenges psychiatrically, I was only trying to avoid waiting in line so I can take him to Disneyland for New Years today. But challenge accepted, I will not let this ruin my day, just disappointed at the customer support
Not useful
by bambinimiei on 2018/06/16 15:34
I had this app from when I’ve gone to Disneyland before and it was much easier and helpful then. I may as well have been using my paper map that you can get from the front of the park!! It was very hard to locate anything and the wait times for the rides, the train, and the monorail, were never accurate. When I used this app a few years ago, it was really accurate and if it wasn’t accurate you could update it in real time so that others could see the accurate wait times. This option isn’t offered in this app anymore. Also, it used to be divided up between the Disneyland Park and California Adventure. You could choose which side you wanted to see things for and then go from there. Now it’s all one big map and it’s super confusing to find things. I kept trying to push the locator button to see where I was in the park and that never worked! I tried restarting my phone, closing out the app and re-opening it, I even deleted the app and added it back onto my phone and that didn’t work either. I have an iPhone 8 so it’s not an old phone that wouldn’t be up-to-date on things. It’s a newer phone that shouldn’t have had any issues. I believe that the app needs a lot of work!
Long startup and drains phone battery
by V.Wit on 2019/06/15 04:53
Pluses: Linking tickets and photos went smoothly. Using fastpasses went smoothly. Minuses: Drains the battery almost as fast as Waze, which seems a bit odd because it is not doing much. Even if you quit out of app, it still drains the battery until you reboot your phone. It must leave processes running on your phone even if you set it not to track you when not using app, etc., etc. I got into the mode of only using it to link and redeem things and then quit out of it. But it takes a long time to start the app, which is inconvenient when you just want to redeem a fastpass. I found the paper park maps to be more convenient than booting up this slow app and navigating around the digital map. When I examined what processes were draining my battery, Disneyland and Facebook had about the same high percentage, and I was not using Facebook at all. Hopefully Disneyland does not have a deal to sell data to Facebook and vice versa without consent of user. It’s annoying that corporate sleaze is so ubiquitous. This could be a great app if it had fast performance and didn’t require you to reboot your phone to kill off all its hidden bloat.
Nearly unusable
by user3959261559 on 2018/12/29 19:51
This is the worst app I have ever used. It takes a long time to launch. Basic interactions like scrolling, entering text, and tapping buttons are frustratingly choppy and slow. Use the app sparingly or it will drain your battery very quickly. For getting around the park, it is much better to use a paper map. I was unable to purchase tickets through the app. After creating an account, it claimed that I was too young to log in. I did enter my birthdate correctly, which I confirmed later after this issue eventually cleared itself up. At times it would render a portion of my previously-entered password at strange locations on the screen (regardless of the "show password" checkbox). When purchasing tickets at the park, a Disneyland employee assured me that the MaxPass feature would work well. This was not true. Expect to see "We're having trouble connecting. Please try again." errors, whether connected to LTE or the guest Wifi (which really didn't work at all). MaxPass is a great idea but the execution is poor. I think they know this, based on all the "no refunds" warnings for the $10 MaxPass feature (which should be free). I would expect better from Disney.
Great but I have suggestions
by Utvygvy on 2018/08/07 21:20
I love the Disneyland app! I find it really easy to go to both parks because i can pull up my pass on my phone instead of having to find it every time. I don’t really use it for navigation because I know the park very well but it seems accurate. I use it all the time in the park and use the lists of rides to plan trips. But, I thought it would be cool if you had a feature especially to plan trips. Like if you could name different trips and select what rides you want to go on,where to eat, etc. I think it would be helpful because there’s a huge difference in going to Disney with my best friend and with little kids. For instance if I was going on a trip with kids I wouldn’t go on space mountain I’d go on Peter Pan. And I think it would be really helpful to be able to plan with whoever your going with and get the most out of your Disney Day!!
Awful customer service at entrance
by ggmacdisney on 2018/12/29 18:04
The security check line to get into Downtown Disney was poorly managed. They had a line for people that had no bags but there were no signs anywhere that said so. We stood in line for quite some time only to be pulled from it by a Disneyland staff member and he had us go all the way to the back of the other line after we had waited. He wasn’t nice about it nor apologetic for not letting us know in advance. There were no signs and quite a number of people were also very upset and they did nothing to remedy the situation. The line for people with no bags was empty and time was wasted. There’s another security line just as long and slow to enter the park and we think it’s useless. There should be a direct access for people that want to go straight to the park. Bad management in my opinion and as a Customer Service specialist it is senseless bad customer service, it could be solved by doing very little. I expect a lot more from “The Happiest Place on Earth” that also charges a ridiculous fee of $145. Please have more respect for people that invest in your company.
Very helpful and easy to use
by MilkyW98 on 2018/05/31 07:54
Honestly, I use this application so much whenever I go in. I don’t really use the navigation feature at all since I know the way around park and if I didn’t the layout of the park is pretty easy to guesstimate anyways with all of the land and the landmarks within the land. The only gripe I have with this is that the startup is really slow and, like snapchat, it eats up your battery (or it did with mine since I have an “older” model, ie not the newest one). I did find the maxpass to be very handy in a small group, I usually skip out when it’s a larger group. So overall, it was very handy especially when I went one a weird day when some of the rides closed earlier, so my friend and I knew about it before going there. (I’m really only writing this because I heard Disney in Tokyo is making an app and I wanted theirs to be similar to this one, if not better. Lol)
by CustomerAZ on 2018/12/28 02:17
I’m sorry to say THAT THIS IS THE BEST APP EVER. This app is extremely helpful and everyone who’s like “it glitches THIS IS STUPID” can go be a nerd at Universal Orlando studios and not experience the magic that Disney has to offer I love Disney I’m 12 years old but I’m still waiting and counting the days till I can get a job at DisneyLand and I must say that I have NEVER ran into a bad cast member and one personal experience is I was at Disneyland and I was walking with my family when I looked around and didn’t see my parents or brother and I just gave up and sat on one of the benches and CRIED but then a cast member came over to me and asked me hat was wrong and I had said I was lost and I couldn’t find my parents and she asked me what ride they were going on and I said haunted mansion and she took me there and sure enough my parents were right there waiting, so like I said go to FRICKIN ORLANDO WERE IDIOTS AND BUTTHEADS ROAM.
Excellent content, awaiting optimization and gift card support
by utwhistler on 2019/09/23 01:30
I love the content in the app. Wait times, MaxPass, mobile ordering. All awesome! The app does seem pretty sluggish at times, even on new mobile hardware. Tapping through MaxPass selections can sometimes take a long time. Also, if several tickets are in the app, but not all of the family is in the park that day, it’s inconvenient to have to tediously deselect the tickets that aren’t available for MaxPass selection. It would be great if the app could automatically detect which tickets have been used to enter the park and only select those tickets to begin with instead of only running that verify step when trying to finalize the FASTPASS selection. Finally, we eagerly await the ability to use Disney Gift Cards to make purchases in the app. We would use Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering much more often if there was some added flexibility in payment options. Thanks!
Updated review- fixed mobile ordering!
by Js12789 on 2018/08/01 19:06
You made me wait two weeks, but you fixed the mobile food ordering discount bug, so back to 5 stars! This app is great! Tickets, fastpasses, wait times, current fastpass distribution times, menus, reservations, map, show times, it has everything. I used MouseWait for years but this is now my preferred app. It’s cleaner and more user friendly. The mobile food ordering is my absolute favorite thing they have come up with in recent memory. Whether you’re an AP or just visiting you need this app. Couple things that would make it better- be able to have a favorites list. I don’t like having to scroll through every ride just to find the one or two I want to see wait times for. A favorites list would be awesome. Also- could we filter by meal when searching for food? Going through 20+ restaurant menus to find just a few that serve breakfast is annoying. Or filter by hours open. At 11 pm I want to be able to quickly find who is still serving. Only other thing is full performance times list. Street performer times are still only listed on the paper brochure at the entrances. Disneyland Band and the smaller groups, green army men, piano at coke corner etc. Overall, fantastic app!
Disneyland and app...What a joke
by LabeMolon on 2019/03/20 20:14
Paid for every option available on the absolutely terrible UI disney ticket website. What a huge charlie foxtrot that website is. Buy a maxpass so you can buy a fastpass (ridiculous), but in reality you paid for nothing because you still have to “check in” to rides (ONE ride every 1.5hrs you can “check into”), and you still have to wait several hours for most rides. 20 people standing in a line at every info booth to ask the same exact question...”how to use maxpass and fastpass” because the website and calling ANY disney number is useless with vague information. The app itself is unintuitive. Everything is the lowest quality at the highest prices. Including the entertainment, rides, and definitely food. Pizza slice? $10 and it tastes like middleschool pizza. Wish they'd have a costco inside Disney. Ive paid 3k so far. Terrible investment for the family. I would have paid THOUSANDS extra to avoid the crowds and ALL lines/wait entirely. Paid thousands and still have to wait. Oh and reception is terrible within the park so the app is extremely spotty.
Slow Loading, Confusing Icons
by Loocigam on 2019/01/17 20:38
Honestly love having everything for my trip to DL in one place, but this needs some serious polishing, specifically around optimizing urgent loads, like fast passes, and surfacing useful information at a glance. I have two recommendations. First, make ticket and fast pass loads the first loads. I usually need those the moment I pull out my phone and open the app in line to enter the park or get on a ride. It’s imperative that those are available immediately when they’re requested. Secondly, there needs to be a different icon for rides that are closed than the “bundle” icon that holds multiple pieces of information. The map would be twice as useful with that. If that bundle icon could be improved as well it would be nice. For example trying to find a charging swap station is next to impossible. I have to touch almost every bundle icon, which includes closed rides. These two things would make the app almost impeccable for me.
Thank you for your time Sincerely Paulette Ysais Annual passport holder since 2002
Too needy
by Ahnsael on 2019/09/25 06:21
I was at Disneyland for two days. The first time I got off HyperSpace Mountain, I wanted to link my on-ride photo to my MaxPass because I was genuinely blown away by the attraction. But when I opened the app to do so, a “Please rate us” pop up that took a while to pop up (but prevented me from doing anything else) interrupted me and by the time I could close it, my photo was gone from the display at the ride exit so I couldn’t link it. The same happened wheyI rode HyperSpace Mountain again later, when I rode Splash Mountain, and many other times. The app it’s iOS good and helpful, but the constant nagging to rate the a app ruined several experiences for me. Just let us use the app without robbing us of what we paid for by your slow-loading needy pop ups. I can rate you at the end of the day, or when I get home. But your rating is bad because your desire for a rating took precedence over my ability to actually use the app and made me feel like I had wasted my $15/day. Oh, and I made reservations for Oga’s Cantina through the app. The reservation was there for a day and a half. When I showed up, though, the reservation vanished, and I had to convince the cast member that I really did have one. The app made me reset my password twice because even with Touch ID enabled it forgot who I was. The app would be great if it worked. But between the app hiccups and all the times in Disneyland where there was no connection, it was not a good experience.
My angel
by SteveSchaumburg on 2017/09/27 15:04
I want someone to find Angelita in the Main Street restaurant where they serve the chicken dinners. I was at Disney for the first time alone (my wife went to heaven 5 months ago ) I walked in the entrance and asked her if someone could help me get my plate because I am handicap. She said she could help me so I told her I wanted the chicken dinner that I have had for years. She told me to go wait at the cashier station. She proceeded to get my entire meal I paid for it and then she carried it to my table for me. I later tried to tip her a mere $5 she said they aren't allowed to take a direct tip from a customer. Since that is the case I want her manager to reward her in some way for her caring and excellent service maybe employee of the month with some kind of promotion or $$$$. She made my day ! If you can somehow let me know what you did for her I would appreciate it. Again her name I think was Angelita my Angel for the day !
Locked out of my account
by hawkrawker on 2018/02/23 04:32
There was an issue where I wasn’t able to buy my ticket online and I tried multiple times to fix it and was unable so I called customer service to fix this issue and they told me that I got locked out of my account for trying so many times- which I understand- but she told me that now I had to pick my tickets up at willcall there was no way for me to unlock my account to buy my ticket for the next day. So instead of using verification like any other business does I will now have to wait in line instead of the ease of this app. Very very frustrated especially since there was nothing telling me what the issue was with buying my ticket in the first place so I could fix it without locking myself out, let alone no way to unlock myself out- Disney is supposed to be known for good customer service and after working in customer service my entire working life I can say for certain this was terrible and frustrating to say the least.
Worst experience by far!
by bronzy187 on 2018/10/09 00:01
I have not encountered this issue before but today I was informed my pass has been placed on “hold” and to refer to the ticket booth office to resolve issue. Before arriving to the park, I confirmed my pass has been up to date, and to proceed onto the park. Once entering the front gate, we were then told to turn around and leave due to our cards to scanning. We had to get Donna involved, Manager, to help us and was then able to let us in. Upon entering the park, I remembered the parking structure attendant did not return our cards when informing of us of the issue. Overall, I spent 2 hours in lines trying to resolve and issue with our passes. We were beyond very disappointed, this will be the last year I wasted my money on Mr. Disney.
Useless...absolutely useless garbage
by CamillaSorensen on 2019/04/15 16:32
First let’s get the important things out of the way: wait times don’t update, the park reception is spotty at best and the only good thing about this is when you already know the park and you just want to order ahead or use your AP MaxPass... Back to business, why I am LIVID with this app... I tried to download the app for my first day of my 3 day so cal park hopper that I bought for my daughter and I. Then I thought I would upgrade to the AP. Problems from the get-go. I had been unable to successfully upgrade my 3 day park hopper to an annual pass from the start with the app (Where you can only upgrade...not your Disney acct, or even on the phone...unless you want to wait in line at the ticket booth) 1st day I could not download the app to my phone, 2nd it wouldn’t let me finish inputting CC info and submitting, it kept clearing out or backpedaling to the last screen and 3rd time it would not do anything at all. Says my submission is invalid. My ticket is good until the 15th. Now because of all the app failures I am in blockout dates and have even more issues, have been on the phone for an hour and have to drive OVER an hour to Disney to wait to park, wait to get on the tram, wait to be seen at the ticket booth, and try to get this resolved. All to give Disney 200 a month of my hard earned money?! Honestly why do I bother....they sure know how to give it to you.
Entertainment Schedule Accuracy
by Ethnoquest on 2018/07/16 06:18
I’ve been thrilled to have the app on this 4-day trip to Disneyland. It’s really made it easy to plan and make the most of our trip. I would have given it 4-5 stars except for one somewhat significant frustration. While the overall trip is planned for my two girls, my personal goal was to attend one live musical performance for each of the groups at Disneyland. We’re on our third day now, and I’ve seen 8 of them so far. Unfortunately, I’ve had 3 where I’ve shown up, waited for 15-30 minutes, but the band didn’t show up to perform. I was told by a cast member that this may happen on Main Street when there are conflicting performances with a marching band. It makes sense, but it would seem that the schedulers would know that for the app timings. Anyhow, it’s been a great trip, and I have one more day to try to track down a few more performances.
ADA Issues
by Wynnmathews on 2017/12/24 23:24
We love visiting Disneyland and Disney World, and we normally visit a couple times a year. My biggest problem with Disneyland is the requirement for a visible disability, in order to get an extra fast past. I’m not going to carry a cane. I probably need one, but it’s a personal issue, and I choose not too. I have an ADA card and license for my vehicle. For as busy as it is in Disneyland, I feel like I need more fast passes in order to not have to go back and forth from Tomorrow Land to the New Orleans area/Frontier/Adventure Land. I want to walk on my own, and I strongly take issue with Disney telling me otherwise. I would very much like it if Disney would ask me what I feel like I need help with, instead of requiring ridiculous things. Anyone can buy a cane...I choose to stop and rest when I need to, because I’m an adult. Not everyone with a mobility issue wants everyone else to know about it.
Great features, almost impossible to use
by iLUVpatd on 2018/09/30 22:33
This app is so promising with its ability to utilize MaxPass and PhotoPass, check attraction wait times, mobile order food, and purchase tickets. The app's layout is incredibly user-friendly, however it does not do so well at actually letting the users...use it. The app is incredibly laggy, which is upsetting because it's features are so great! Some pages with refresh while I'm in the middle of scrolling. It often freezes and has prevented me from adding on MaxPasses to my park tickets but not allowing my payment method to go through. A Cast Member I asked for help with this stated that it's due to some security-related reason and I was only able to successfully add MaxPass by visiting guest relations in-person. This same issue exists with other users of this app as well, three other people in my party were having trouble as well. Disney needs an update for this app to fix the bugs!
by BT_Media on 2017/11/14 14:41
Disney servers crapped out, charged my credit card twice and then told me that “the system could not process my request.” At the happiest place on Earth - but I was very unhappy that I had to drag my kids and family to guest relations and figure this mess out. Oh, and did I mention I called the number I was given and was on hold for 25 minutes. Finally my wife said forget it - we can’t spend our entire day trying to fix Disney’s mess. Let’s just deal with it later. Thanks Disney App!!! Supplemental review - after visiting guest relations, the crew were very gracious, apologized for the server meltdown, which they admitted to, and credited my account. Yes, I had to wait 15 minutes in line for guest relations at the end of the day (kids and wife went back to hotel). I understand computer error, though failsafes should be in place. And I agree that the the app should let you purchase tickets same day! Why does it say you can if no go?
by Scott Carnwath on 2019/02/12 02:28
Today was very difficult talking to many different people to get into this theme park was very difficult we did a ping pong between calling people and talking to employees it wasn’t until we collected our cool me and my partner and talk to MAY and Keke her Manager to put everything together to get into the park is self. This app helps you and guides you through the park with the reservations at great restaurants such as Carthay Circle to Booking fast passes to Book yourself your spot in line. I have to say it’s not how you screw up in life it’s how you recover. Don’t blow up and get mad at technology give it time. It’ll show you many great tips to get you around the park ask any employee they’re willing to help you out just be patient.
Good time, except...
by SoCal_Jewel on 2018/02/12 03:59
After an indulgence in the Mad Hatter’s spinning teacups and the always classic “It’s A Small World,” we went on every ride which appeared to be fun for an adult. Matterhorn was good entertainment, as was Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted House. Our favorites were Big Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain... both are rollercoasters that are WELL WORTH the wait, whatever it is. We also took Disneyland railroad... FYI, it isn’t actually an “entertaining ride,” but just a mode of transportation between “lands.” The one ride we were HUGELY disappointed with was “Indiana Jones’ Adventure.” The line marquee said to expect a 45 minute wait when we entered, 10 minutes later there was an announcement that the wait would be longer than originally expected, and that we might need to wait 75 minutes. That was bad enough, but we ended up waiting nearly 2 hours for this 2 minute ride that was TOTAL CRAP. Your ride looks like a truck, and all you do is go on a bumpy, whiplash-rendering car ride for 2 minutes. SO LAME. Had we known the ride was like that, we wouldn’t have waited even five minutes, much less the 2 hours we waited. Summary... for an adult to have a good time, avoid Indiana Jones, and don’t miss Big Thunder Mountain or Space Mountain.
App caused a giant problem
by saffjir on 2018/12/30 23:42
I upgraded to an annual pass mid-day through the app. First of all it failed a few times and didn’t save my data for the annual pass but finally I made the purchase. Even though I purchased the MaxPass in the annual pass, it wouldn’t let me fastpass from the app. I went to guest services and spent 20 minutes before being sent back to the ticket kiosk outside of the park. There I stood in line for 25 minutes only to be told “unfortunately, it takes 24 hours for the annual pass to be active with fastpass.” Wow, spend $1600 and then that? They finally issued me a new ticket for the day with maxpass and gave me a fastpass voucher for any ride. Wow, thanks for that. I only spent 1+ hour standing in line and talking to solve this problem that all started when I upgraded to an Annual Pass through this app. Don’t do it. I am a lifelong fan of Disney, Disney Vacation Club member and have bought several annual passes. This was my worst Disney experience and has affected my loyalty.
Dale not nice
by bad dale on 2019/02/08 18:35
Everything was fantastic except when we first arrived at the DL hotel. We were so excited to see Dale and I asked if he could please take a photo with my 89 year old mother and her friend who were sitting in the lobby, (dale was also in the lobby). He motioned to have them come to him, so I did. He was very animated and friendly with other guests, but when I asked him again to take a photo because we were there, he walked over and did not engage, just stood a distance away with his hands folded for the photo. I had to have my family move close to him. He then left without any engagement and engaged greatly with the Caucasian 40 something year old who was there with some girlfriends. Not sure if it was a racial thing, but it felt awful. This was about 12:45pm on 2/7/19.
by DanaRodocker on 2019/08/06 21:45
We use the app every time we are at the parks. As Annual Passholders, we visit the parks a lot and the wait times are more accurate than on the other apps out there because they are pulled directly from the park and are not dependent on visitors to update them. The times are usually about a 10 minute difference either way. Mobile ordering is spot on and super easy and convenient and so is linking photos from the photo pass. The one thing that would make this even better is the ability to load and use Disney Gift Cards directly from the app. We haven’t been able to load the Disney gift cards to Apple Wallet, so having them in the Disneyland App would be super helpful.
Maxpass Buyer Beware - Buggy, Slow, Frustrating
by Big Al Not Roker on 2017/09/24 06:31
Spent two hours this afternoon trying to book my next fastpass and by the time I got it to work, everything was blacked out for the rest of the day. Even when it did work in the morning, it always took multiple tries and refreshes to get our names to show up. Called customer service and they can't do anything about it. I consider the money paid towards the maxpass to be mostly wasted / stolen. The map is slow, jittery, and difficult to interact with. The location dot jumps around and may be confusing when you are trying to navigate. When the app was active my phone was warmer than usual and the battery drains quickly. That happened on two separate phones. Bad phone reception in the park, especially in the New Orleans and Adventureland areas makes it a challenge to use there. (Tried Verizon and Sprint). When I did have good reception it felt like the app was overloaded. Always slow, thinking, waiting. From my perspective after using this today, it feels like no one involved with this maxpass / app experience has ever actually tried to use it in a real world setting. It felt like what I would expect if United Airlines or Time Warner Cable ran a theme park. Bad, not cared for, almost adversarial. Not a top tier, expensive theme park. This is on an iPhone 6+ with Verizon. And an iPhone 7 with Sprint.
Great upgrade start to the FastPass progression
by LonghornKutee on 2018/05/07 21:06
I am not a local, but I am Cast Member from WDW Florida who has experienced ticket FP and now the My Disney Experience apps. I think the upgrade changes DLR is going through with MaxPass is awesome! Easy to utilize. My favorite part of having FP available through the app has always been making that walk all the way to the ride, only to find FP we’re done for the day. Also, I love that you’re able to make another FP as soon as yours has been redeemed; whereas with MDX you can make another one until you’ve used all three in one park, or your times have expired. This is only my first day here at DLR, but I love the app already and can’t wait to use it the next three days!
by ohxswgnof on 2019/09/20 20:14
-the app should be more user friendly. It should be easy to understand for people who don’t speak English -overall the fast pass section, the photo section, and the menu ordering sections were fantastic. I fell like these parts were well done but the rest of the functionality of the app seems like it was just thrown together sloppily instead of being thought out. There are duplicates of multiple sections and pages all over the place that display the same information in a different way and they don’t sincronize togehter. There are lots of dead end pages that don’t actually get you what your looking for. -It should be an option to click on the restaurants and have what they are pull up -Seeing when you can next schedule a fast pass should be more avalible -Being able to move you fast pass time to the next hour mark a certain amount of time before your time comes should be an option. Sometimes your schedule changes and you know an hour or two or more in advance, but you cannot postpone.... -You should be able to serve on the map things. For example, restaurants, rides, kids activities. -Information about Disney events should be easier to access and more details should be given -All menues should have photos of the food on all different pages of the app
Great and efficient App
by Clos Mann on 2018/01/14 16:26
I often use this app to look at what the day is going to be like at Disneyland. It is very accurate and helps me make the best of the day at the park. After looking at reviews about this app, I don’t know why people use this review section to rant about the park. There are other forums to express praise or frustration. The developers are asking for reviews on the app only not the park and it’s operations. We all know that the park is usually crowded but the park cannot grow much more than what it is. With that said, the park is still adding a new Star Wars land but in reality the park staff and employees can only do so much. Sorry had to go this far on my review but I felt compelled to respond to other reviews, thanks.
App malfunctions, Disney denies
by WDWar on 2019/08/16 21:45
Hey Disney! I made an in-app purchase for some tickets for Disneyland, but the Disneyland app malfunctioned on me and selected the wrong tickets, park hopper rather than the standard tickets. I called your support team twice, one time within an hour and the other the next day, and no one seemed to be able to change or cancel the transaction. I was transfer to a supervisor and no luck. It is as if administration has them set to deny, deny, deny. I mentioned I have two separate videos on different occasions of the app malfunctioning if needed, but the support team seemed to be set on not changing or refunding the difference. All I wanted was to go to Disneyland, but it seems I’ll be spending my week dealing with this and going elsewhere. I’ve had to call my credit card company and dispute the charge, but what a headache Disney. Why? I don’t have this hard of a time with other theme parks; you have a beautiful face, but ugly interior.
Good app, needs better UI
by ZietReisender on 2017/11/19 22:10
For the most part the app works well. Where it falls down is in the user interface and battery usage (phone reports 38% background usage). Some things are hard to find initially; such as where to enter Photo Pass codes for the ride photos. Lately the app has been used more to advertise their paid Fastpass like service, which wouldn't be so bad if the Fastpasses weren't randomly unavailable for rides that they are available at other times. It becomes very hard to plan, when you can't tell what rides have Fastpass available before purchasing their service. Where the app shines is the ride estimates, the restaurant guide, and contact information.
The real review
by Smak on 2017/11/13 03:37
This is a decent app but falls short in some critical ways. Some problems: 1) slow performance, and heavy data usage, and very clunky to use 2) when Disneyland is crowded, they don’t have enough cell towers to handle the load (and they have zero WiFi), and you cannot use your fast passes without a fast internet connection. That leaves a bunch of people clogging each ride trying to load and scan fast passes for each party. It’s nuts. 3) it takes multiple steps to utilize the max pass features, and these features are organized in an inefficient way that requires multiple steps (and page loads) to see what is available, and when. This goes for both dining and fast passes. Combine this lack of efficient design with slow internet and you lose years of your life. Thanks Mickey. Did I mention you pay extra for this privilege? Disney should refund everybody until they hire a proper internet/app development team. This is a joke. Whoever designed this app doesn’t design apps for a living. If they do, they should look for other work.
Extremely easy to use ⭐️⭐️⭐️
by ac1327 on 2019/03/26 18:55
Using this app when I went to Disneyland with my sister was amazing. It was very helpful in telling the wait times for the rides. It allowed my sister and I to be able to plan our day better and decide which rides we wanted to go on. Also, the app tells you where specific character are throughout the park if you want to visit them. This was especially helpful and overall was a very easy app to understand!! Also when I went to Disneyland I purchased my ticket through the app which was extremely helpful and minimized the amount of wait time! The app really allows users to save time throughout the day 👍🏼
It’s About...Time!
by jdw2465 on 2018/05/17 21:04
Over the years, I’ve used several other apps. Kudos to the makers for trying; but you simply can’t compete when Mickey decides to fill a need. I downloaded the app while in the park, scanned the barcode on my park ticket, and like magic, my FastPasses appeared in a list showing return times. And if that weren’t cool enough, I scanned my wife’s pass, which linked us together (like M. & M.) and added her FastPasses to mine. Wait times are all listed on the map and automagically updated. You can even reserve lunch and dinner at select DL restaurants. I’d give it 5 stars if it weren’t for a few usability glitches; but hey, the app is new, so give the cast members a break. Else, two Ears way up!
Character appearance

I am very disappointed that I traveled here from Philadelphia, on the east coast with my husband and 4 kids. I paid $750 just to enter the park and that don’t include all the money I spent on food and souvenirs. I was pushed around, stepped on, ran over with electric wheelchairs (I know this is out of your control). Then I asked several(at least 10) employees where Mickey and Minnie will be at the end of the night so my family can get a picture with them. They all told me in the middle near the flag pole as that is what was on the Disneyland app! After waiting 35 min we found out the location was inside a building and by the time we got inside the security with Mickey and Minnie would not let my family take a photo with them. I am highly disappointed as I traveled across the country and spent a ton of money and I am now traveling back to the east coast with NO picture with Mickey or Minnie! Very sad!
Long wait times without entertainment.
by dawn23456 on 2019/01/03 22:40
People pay hundreds of dollars to come here and line wait times are ridiculous. There should be a cap. We have been here for 5 hours and only been able to get on one ride. There isn’t anything to entertain children and not many places to sit for older adults along the lines. My father got a disability pass and we are still waiting hours. He can’t stand in a line that is that long. What is the point? I LOVE Disneyland but it has really got away from you guys. I miss the early 2000 Disneyland. 30 min wait Max for any ride. You make millions on people buying food and toys and clothes. You don’t need to allow over crowded lines to stay open. It’s really sad that a place I have found so magical in the past, has become a boring place for my 2 and 5 year old daughters that basically love Disney. I was hoping to make it magical for them and I was severely let down.
Best App ever! 😊

I was hesitant to download this app, because most apps of this kind are useless. This is an exception! I wanted a map for the parks just to help me get around, since I hadn't been in over 20 years, plus I'm taking my Mom for her 80th birthday. It doesn't just have a map, it's got a very detailed map with every kind of everything on it! :) My Mom needs to go to the bathroom frequently. No worries! Just pull up the app, choose Restrooms, and voila! It shows you where all the bathrooms are as well as attractions, dining, where characters are, etc. It also keeps track of my dining reservations and my tickets. So handy and helpful. Way to go Disney for making this app top notch!
Doing the park with grandchildren with disabilities
by 917nana on 2019/05/28 03:56
2 of my 4 grandchildren in my party have autism. Our understanding was that they would be able to avoid frustrating times in line, based on the nature of their disability. However, we were told several times today, it’s treated identically to a fast pass, which means a reduced time waiting in line, like people who can pay for advantages over others. To me, this totally minimizes or nullifies any understanding of individuals with disabilities, and is disrespectful, and sends a distorted social message. We also heard that previously, the system for Those with disabilities was much more compassionate and reasonable. I hope Disney revisits their current policy and makes it temporary.
Nonfunctioning Purchases are not refundable
by eddy 1345789 on 2018/10/22 05:40
I purchased the Max Pass today for four people at $40 for the day. When I logged in to use it, the only ride that I could book for a fast pass at 11:00 am was the Haunted Mansion Holiday at 7:55 pm. None of the other rides were visible through the app. Later in the day I went to guest services and explained the problem. The only thing they offered was to comp another Max Pass for the following day or three Fast passes. Neither of which are worth the money that I requested be returned by the manager. Two ladies in line next to me had the same issue with the app. I would have expected Disneyland to make this defective purchase right after I took the time to explain the issue to management. Luckily this broken product was purchased on credit. Disney can go ahead and qualify their greed with my bank if they think I got my money’s worth.
Clunky, inaccurate, lack of infrastructure
by JFJ2000 on 2018/07/14 18:30
I’ve tried updating my contact information and birthdate, but it wouldn’t save the contact information nor would anyone from Disney answer the phone. And there are several misinformed people who don’t know that these reviews are for the app and not the park. *I see why people talk about the park here. The cast members could be better at creating Disney magic. The app is a data hog, and they don’t have strong WiFi in the 2 parks. They have a lack of infrastructure. The number of fast pass rides may not be worth purchasing FP+ (DL 10 rides / DCA 7 rides). FP+ had trouble working the first few times. Once I turned off WiFi, it worked fine. You get one time for fast passes unlike the WDW app which gives multiple choices. The filters to find attractions, dining, restrooms, etc. works well, off WiFi. You can save all of your party’s tickets in the app.
Needs favorites
by *JulieBean* on 2017/11/03 17:49
This is not the place to vent about experiences at the park, just review the app, people! My only real complaint about the app is that there is no way to favorite a ride, shop or restaurant. If you have rides you want to make sure you hit, I want to favorite it then have a separate favorites tab so I can quickly locate the ride and look it up on the map. Instead, I have to bring my printed out list from home and go back and forth from my list to the app. It would be nice if you could filter shops, attractions and dining by park. If I'm in California Adventure I don't want to scroll through all the Disneyland stuff too. Another nice addition would be current wait time for security to get into the park.
The magic of Disney wasn’t with us
by ChitownJenna on 2018/11/09 03:13
We came to celebrate my niece and nephews first birthday and sister-in-laws first trip to Disney. We had the unfortunate luck of rides being closed just as it was time for our fast passes. It was nice to have the ability of riding other rides but the lines we so long it didn’t end up being any faster than the regular lines. The character sightings were exciting until we unbuckled the babies stood in line for photos and then were turned alway because the character had to move on to a show or take a break. We understand there is only so long Minnie can hang out but there wasn’t a way of knowing when the character was scheduled to move on. Bummer of a first trip for my family, I’m sure next time will be magical.
No internet connection
by dl app review on 2018/10/13 00:25
I always use this app when visiting Disneyland. This time however was a disappointment. I’m not sure if it’s my carrier, Verizon and Disneyland uses AT&T. Whatever the reason I was not able to use my Max pass that I paid for AND could not use the app! For most of the day I could not use the app despite my rebooting my phone, erasing and reopening the app, erasing the history and using the Disneyland’s WiFi. All solutions had no answer for this problem. I was very frustrated. If not otherwise this is an all in one app. Luckily, my husband’s app on his phone was working, which I have a iPhone 7 Plus and he has a 6-so I would only assume a new phone would have better luck but not the case. I think of this app like a credit card and the paper ticket as cash. If you can’t use you phone app you will have to revert back to your old ways of the paper ticket.
