Google Casting only works from an Android device
by henrysv43 on 2020/10/20 16:38
I am not able to cast to my KEF LSII Wireless speakers from my iPhone 11 running 14.0.1. But it does works if I cast from my Samsung Note 20, I can’t be the only person that has discovered this. I have tried an iPad Pro and an iPhone Pro and still the same issue, I don’t think it’s a network issue since I can cast from an Android

Language choice
by zterretz on 2020/10/17 20:06
In comparison to other services, like iTunes, it is substantially better for classical, but still very poor in finding versions. And … I can change the language. Is it so difficult to add this feature?
Streaming quality is great but software is buggy
by SamW10019 on 2020/10/13 20:58
I need to begin by saying that I love this streaming service and listen to it everyday. The music selection and streaming quality is fantastic. And I also like the design of the user interface in the iPhone, iPad and MacBook apps (but I do seem to be in the minority with that opinion). My problem is that the software is buggy and keeps crashing on both my phone and MacBook. In particular it is problematic when I try to stream something to my Sonos or an airplay speaker. Despite the claims of the last update, this problem has not been fixed and it consistently crashes the app. You are better off using the Sonos app to select and play music from IDAGIO on a Sonos speaker. But unfortunately that interface is less elegant and I find it difficult sometimes to find the music that I want to play. The Apple Watch app is useless. You can o my use it to stream music to a Bluetooth device connected directly to the watch. It would be much more useful if it could be used to control what is being played on my phone or another device/speaker that is connected to the same WiFi network as my watch. The Spotify app does this very well, and I was hoping that the IDAGIO app would have similar functionality. But also it does not!
Confusing interface, can’t cast
by ultimate physics on 2020/10/11 14:33
The interface is confusing and poorly laid out. PC desktop only has option for casting to Sonos. iPad casting to Apple or Google devices constantly crashing. Audio quality is great but useless without better software. Need to hire better programmers.
Great gift for classical music lovers!,

The app is fantastic but
by Joan Alaniz on 2020/10/04 14:00
The Apple Watch app crashes, but otherwise on my phone the app is fantastic and I really enjoy choosing by the mood and of course this app is my favorite classical music app, app crashes on my Watch but not the phone. I would still highly recommend the app for people who loves classical music and and also because you get to choose music based on your mood
Fantastic for a non-expert
by HS42-71 on 2020/10/01 20:58
I have not listened to much classical music because I didn’t know what to listen to, and the music on the *other* streaming service was uninteresting and predictable. Listening to IDAGIO playlists, I feel as through a wise friend is taking me by the hand and leading me through a wonderful new world of music. So far I especially like the Music for Your Day, Listen & Explore, and Moods playlists to discover many new composers and musicians that I’ve never heard before, and I’m looking forward to exploring with my new paid subscription. Thank you!
Sonos Streaming Stopped?
by bellevuedonnie on 2020/09/28 16:44
In general I love idagio and use it every day - BECAUSE it streams to my Sonos system. Suddenly today Sonos streaming would not work and a dialog popped up saying I have to reauthorize idagio with Sonos. I’ve done that twice now (apparently successfully since the Sonos app still shows the idagio service and idagio playback still works FROM the Sonos app) - but the idagio app just freezes every time I select to stream to Sonos. I’m putting this ‘ticket’ here because I see no place anywhere in either the idagio website or the idagio app to ask for help. Edit: I tested the Mac and Windows idagio apps and they are both streaming fine to Sonos. It’s the iOS and iPadOS apps that are failing (for me).
Worked fine until 26/9/20
by BGhows on 2020/09/28 14:19
Am a subscriber and had no issues connecting the app w my Sonos system till last week. The Idagio app will not connect and play music via my Sonos system although I can connect to Idagio through the Sonos app. Reinstalling the app did not work. Waiting for a fix.

No student discount.
by Aaro9643689 on 2020/09/16 13:05
The selection and app itself is great. However, IDAGIO doesn’t offer a student discount. Both Spotify and Apple Music offer student discounts and both offer a decent selection of classical music. I’d love to stick with IDAGIO but the price is not competitive for only offering classical music that I can mostly find on other platform for half the price. Amazing app, nonetheless.

I use this app every day and it never lets me down. There is the occasional lag, but this app is built perfectly
Love it!!
by Riley~P on 2020/09/11 23:21
This is definitely the best app I’ve tried for classical music. There aren’t too many ads, you can turn your phone off and still listen, the playlist are great and I love the playlist for your mood feature. Overall, a great app and I definitely recommend.
Don’t subscribe
by Foodie27502 on 2020/09/11 17:45
I bought a subscription, but when I tried to use the app, kept getting a message that I required a subscription in order to listen to anything. There seems to be no way to fix it. Thus would be a lovely app to have. I hope someone builds one that actually delivers the service one pays for.
Great for niche performances
by Tgvsxn on 2020/09/10 21:46
But lacking in features. What I miss in streaming classical music are the program notes and CD booklets. I couldn’t find artist biographies either. It’s well catalogued, has good music selection, and can steam hifi, but I still feel like a dedicated classical app needs something more special if you’re going to target such a specific market. (Or maybe it’s a premium feature that I didn’t pay for?) Overall great app, I’m just a nerd who wants more info to read.
Suggestions
by Hanseo_Kim on 2020/09/05 06:04
Hello, I have used the app since last year and I am loving to use it whenever I listen to music. However, there is a suggestion I would like to make to make a better UI. I thought it would be great to have a function that sorts “Collection” category based on certain standards (e.g. Alphabetical order) Currently, it is really hard to find the album I want in the “Collection” category. + It would be great if there is way to only view downloaded musics. Nevertheless, my general experience with the IDAGIO is great!!
Wonderful app
by StoicPickle on 2020/09/01 13:56
Really what a streaming app should be—especially if you’re interested in music. Lossless sound quality. Fabulous curated playlists. Liner notes available. Able to search by instrument, composer, etc. Don’t mind the monthly payment at all. One minus—I can’t stream it to my amazon echo. I suppose I’ll just have to spring for a few Sonos Fives.
Good music but only on phone
by Rickyredracer on 2020/08/26 14:37
There was no way to listen to this on my Bose earbuds and unfortunately this isn’t acceptable as I listen to music during working hours. *** This has been fixed and I have resubscribed. This really is an amazing app.

Not true gapless playback and no resume feature
by Emma Lady on 2020/08/16 18:42
I’m currently comparing Primephonic and Idagio. They’re both very similar and, if you’re into classical music, you already know the advantages of a dedicated classical streaming service with searchable metadata. These apps are priced similarly (a bit pricier for lossless in Primephonic) and overall similar features. I’m waiting to see which app offers a true “resume” or bookmark feature for when you break from listening and then will use that app exclusively. Currently the selection for both is good (not perfect, but we’ll probably never see perfect); sound quality options for both are high. Idagio offers a prettier UI but for me the true difference comes down to two things: true gapless playback and a resume feature. This is important because I adore classical music but have a special love for opera. Gaps between tracks is terrible and grate on the ear. However, Idagio only claims to have gapless playback: on both my IPhone and iPad there are clear gaps between tracks of about two seconds (fully updated iOS and app, of course). I’m happy to report Primephonic does have true gapless, which means I use it more often. However, both are missing a “resume” or even “bookmark” feature which is ridiculous. It’s probably one of the most commonly requested feature for classical music—after all, one rarely has time to sit and listen to a 2-4 hour opera straight through. And yet both apps lack this feature. I’ve emailed Idagio’s support about this and the agent barely read my email, saying gapless would only work on IOS devices (I know, that’s why I mentioned I was on the latest iOS). She also said a resume feature wasn’t currently on the roadmap as the dev team was focusing on other exciting priorities. Like what, pray tell? I’m pretty sure your paying customer base should dictate your priorities... Anyway I’m trying Primephonic for a while and am pleased with the gapless playback functionality. They seem to iterate this app a bit more frequently so maybe we’ll see a resume feature soon!

I really do love this.
by Earnest Kid on 2020/07/29 03:56
Omg soooo much music. I love the views and how you can see composer, soloist and more! I would love to see two things: album covers for what I am listening to. I know I can find the album but the over and easy access to the rest of the LP would be great. Also date of the composition. Knowing I am listening to a over 100 year old piece of music and someone is playing it still, makes me very happy. And I would love to see it easily in the app.
Top notch
by joshin'ron on 2020/07/28 14:52
I’ve never left an app review. Until now. I wouldn’t say Idagio has changed my life, but it has come pretty close. My work as a musician has flourished with this tool. I’ve discovered volumes of work in the past year with this app. 1) The sheer volume of material is literally bottomless. 2) The quality of material is outstanding. From the best recordings of classical music’s best to the curated playlists, the selection is great. If I wanted to search the Chaconne in D Minor and compare soloists such as Hahn or Perlman, this is your tool. 3) Subscription options are numerous. I’ve recently upgraded my subscription to Lossless quality and am quite sure I’ll never go back to a lesser quality. 4) It’s a beautiful app. 5) The Christmas playlists are hands-down the best Christmas music you will ever find. From ancient medieval chorales, to Beethoven, Bach and Brahms, to Ludovico Einaudi, this app will (almost!) change your life.
idagio organization
by jeanmate on 2020/07/27 01:02
App delivers lossless audio efficiently. However the organization of the material is dismal. Trying to find an album of works in a single genre by a composer is unnecessarily tricky. I am retaining classical archives which has peerless organization even if not (yet) lossless streaming.
My eyes are not 20 years old
by Analog Relic on 2020/07/25 11:43
Thin, low-contrast, tiny fonts are not friendly to those of us whose eyes are not as young as they used to be. Considering canceling my subscription just because these factors make the app very difficult for me to use on my 11 Pro. I don’t need vastWide open spaces in my user interface. I need fonts I can read. Too bad because it seems like a really good service. But I use it mainly on my phone, not my computer.
Why 3 Stars
by Ericg51 on 2020/07/17 19:11
Unlike Spotify or Apple Music, IDAGIO often just stops. This is a very annoying problem and will force me to abandon the app unless it is corrected.

High quality music
by Jdihsndneb on 2020/07/09 03:06
IDAGIO has completely replaced Spotify for me. A few suggestions for future versions: 1. A queue function (add to queue, view it, edit it) 2. A heads up if you add duplicate pieces to the same playlist (this’ll be difficult since you could have multiple renditions of the same piece) 3. A “radio” capability that auto-adjusts to pieces you like/dislike. Like Spotify’s algorithm. Functionality aside, it serves its purpose: high quality classical music in lossless audio. What more can you ask for?
Classical Fix #1
by cGsusMind on 2020/07/08 08:47
This app has more than filled the gap left when I moved away from Chicago and lost my favorite classical station. Now, I have access to a source of perfectly selected pieces even here in Last Fromtier.

Love the music, hate the crashing.
by thenaanandmoose on 2020/07/03 04:25
I used to use this app all the time but recently it’s starting crashing two minutes or less into a recording. I have more than enough space and even when I close all apps it still crashes. It crashes even when I stay in the app and it crashes when I leave the app to go elsewhere. It also crashes when I play downloaded recordings. (btw: can we get a more obvious section for recorded music only?)

Needs more control
by Holbycomp on 2020/06/07 13:54
Idagio is a very good app. I appreciate the focus on classical music, especially the critically acclaimed albums portion. However, I primarily use the app at bedtime. Classical music soothes my mind and allows me to fall asleep quickly. Currently, idagio continues playing after my selected album is over, causing me to awaken many times throughout the night. I am sure I can make playlists, but I enjoy hearing new music at bedtime. There needs to be a control built in to fix this problem.
Wonderful Program
by Hhh76_ on 2020/06/05 18:09
It has an excellent design and content, only that if for the vocal music there can be lyrics included(maybe somewhere where we can follow along while listening to the music) that would be even more fantastic.
Improving almost daily!
by kk100 on 2020/06/05 00:35
It’s clear they rushed the service out while it was missing many bare bone features (like knowing which track in a playlist is the one playing) but they’re commitment to improvement is clear as the updates are coming quickly. It is an extensive library but there are still some hiccups. For example, if you’re searching for a box set of performances which contains several volumes, the resulting searches don’t show the volumes together. From there it’s very difficult to play the full set without hunting each volume down and placing it a separate playlist. There’s also no way of telling what’s popular since the number of times a piece has been listened to is missing and there is no rating system. They’re very quick to respond to issues or questions and they follow up diligently. One feature which is unique and innovative is their ‘Mood’ selector which will provide you with an instant playlist/radio channel based upon an extensive choice of moods from Festive, Radiant & Joyful to Sad, Tragic, and Melancholic and everything in between! Despite some of the early hiccups I’m giving it four stars because it’s an important service for classical music lovers and it’s a great collection.
IDagio understand Classical
by mcb277 on 2020/05/29 02:14
This is the app for Classical music lovers. Sure, you can zone out to a shuffle of sweet, short pieces. Sure you can get curated sets for you moods. But if you want to listen to albums; or a whole string quartet (not called “songs”); if you want to find every recording by Yannick—this is your thing. You can also download recordings.
Not recognizing my subscription
by normtendo on 2020/05/22 08:06
For the last day or so, the application prompts me to subscribe, even tho I am a subscriber in good standing. There is no real direction within the application on how to get support for problems. Maybe this review will provide some resolution. If problem is resolved, I’ll provide an update with comprehensive review.
Discharges battery
by machank on 2020/05/18 19:41
I had to delete The app from my iPhone 6s because it discharges my battery even after I stop listening and even after I close it and remove it from my list of recent apps. Have not noticed same problem on my iPad Air 2 however. Also very annoying audio ad for subscribing after 1 or 2 movements . Don’t mind the random selections in radio mode. Way too expensive for subscription when you consider that Apple Music costs $10/month for entire library.
The free version *only* plays ads
by Gori20 on 2020/05/18 04:09
I had tried the subscription, thought i’d love it, however, for various reasons decided not to continue with a paid account, instead just go with the free version. Ever since, the only thing this app plays is ads. Long ads. When i click the play radio, the ads just loop, one after another.
Great app, navigation poor, more categories please
by Jodie001 on 2020/05/17 13:04
I would like to see more music categories: Operettas (Gilbert & Sullivan, Oklahoma, Westside Story, etc.) that would add a bit of variety. This is a wonderful app for classical music lovers. The selections are vast and outstanding. However, the menu system needs a complete overhaul to make this a 5-star app. IDAGIO is great to use in Apple Play where I like to use the “radio”. Set this up the way you like it BEFORE you start driving.

This is the only music app that I’ve used that has the intelligence to find and play classical music. Love the music, love lossless, HATE the crashing, always always crashing
by The Pagan Rhino on 2020/04/28 19:51
I have had this app for some time now from the first day I heard of it, and to have lossless classical music blasting in my ears from my phone is beyond glorious. But ever since the newest iOS (and subsequent updates) went live it is rare for an album to play all the way through without crashing. Whether through cell, Wifi, or any other type of connection or if I have downloaded. The app still crashes while playing. 4 minutes into the first movement of a piece or 5 minutes left on the album. It is beyond frustrating. Any help would be appreciated. I LOVE IDagio but if I can't listen to the music I love or music I'm just discovering without it crashing, what's the point. I have an iPhone X

You’re off to a great start!
by ozoneghost on 2020/04/26 00:50
Ok, I could see me subscribing permanently, but you need a couple things. Artist collection is NOT in alphabetical order. That’s a biggie. Fix that and give it a toggle to swap between alphabetical and most recent. 2) You need dark mode. A nice classy one, or give your subscribers some options for other themes. 3) Gotta get more photos of artists. I’m already saved like 50 artists, at least 5 obscure artists have no picture, but there are pics for those artists out there, even Spotify has pics for these obscure artists. The lossless is a huge bonus, I’d subscribe just first that. But the interface needs a bunch of work. Everything should be linkable, so if I look up an album, all names should be linked to other areas of the app. The curation is good. Way better than Apple Music or Spotify. I’m a composer and pianist myself, and have collected classical music for 30 years. More than half my collection of 4500 albums is classical. Another 25 percent of that collection film scores. You’re off to a great start, some of your more obscure composers have more albums in Spotify or Apple Music than you have, hopefully you can contract those albums. The other thing you may want to consider eventually is letting your subscribers upload their own libraries, like Apple Music does. I’d love to have all my rare gems in the same place as to the subscription music. I’ll pay quality price for quality service. But at the very least alphabetize the artist collection page ASAP. That’s a BIGGIE! Great work folks!

Incredible service with app that needs some work
by hoofhand on 2020/04/15 19:31
The service is incredible. Bravo! A small issue with the application. For desktop and phone: we need a way to filter, search through and sort our own collection. HIGHLY IMPORTANT. I imagine all users paying for the service are classically inclined and therefore will have more saved in their collection than just a few, well known works. In other words, support for big libraries!
Extraordinary!
by Franco Corelli on 2020/04/10 17:31
Other music streaming services that I’ve tried are primarily oriented to pop music, and have relatively poor classical music choices/interfaces (e.g., Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, Pandora). Discovery of IDAGIO has given me a whole new window into classical music. Imagine being able to listen to many new recordings recommended in the BBC Music Magazine as part of the very reasonable subscription cost, and you’ll never look back.

by FiremanEd on 2020/04/08 23:19
I love the application, no doubts about that. But, recently while connected to my home Wi-Fi, I receive a server error on top and only a partial list of albums/composers display. The error does not occur when I turn off Wi-Fi and move over to cellular data. On FirstNET via AT&T.

by Ahmed247 on 2020/04/05 21:15
App content is great. But lots of bugs, and most importantly the airplay feature doesn’t work about 90% of the time which is sad as I would like to play the music to my speakers and Apple TV via WiFi. An Apple TV app would be great too! Another suggestion that would make this great is to add commentary/education section, as it would be a great addition to teach basics of classical music, and learn more about composers, symphonies, and the stores behind works.
Great but no sorting
by alpha 4657 on 2020/04/03 22:33
I love this site but they really need to get it together to organize what you download or the list for recordings. As of now everything is just put in sequence of time that you add it to your lists. If you have 100 pieces added Mozart could be number 5 or 23 or 75. You have to through all to find it. It shouldn’t be to hard to place in some alphabetical order.
Phenomenal
by dNelson_ on 2020/04/02 12:19
I am so pleased with IDAGIO! If you care about classical music, there is no better streaming service. It’s easy to navigate the different periods, genres, composers, etc. The playlists are first rate. And now you can read the digital booklets! (Not being able to read the booklets has been one of my chief complaints about streaming services.)
Sleep timer?

Very nice app specializing in classical music. Would love to see a sleep timer in the app soon so I can fall asleep to peaceful music and not keep playing all night.

I like the service, but the apps fall short
by Shpoosh on 2020/03/15 23:29
The iOS app is missing some important features, such as the ability to create a play queue on the fly by swiping for “play next” or “play last.” I’d also like to see track timings without having to actually play the track. I share the common complaint about the way this app handles - or doesn’t! - album art. The interface is a frustrating mix of tiny type and white space. The Mac app is a huge mess in that respect! It’s also hard to see which track on an album is playing because there’s a barely visible thin black bar on the very left edge of the screen that (for me) tends to disappear into the bezel on my black iPhone. I think the search on Idagio is more powerful than Primephonic’s. I really like being able to filter search results by performer, conductor, etc. But for now, the UI shortcomings will have me sticking with Primephonic.

This is the kind of app that allows you to set aside or even work through your internet anxiety because this app represents one of the best qualities of internets: the access to history and art and culture here in the form of that most intrinsic of human creations: beautiful music. This app is truly for anyone of any age living anywhere in the world to enjoy a vast collection of high quality music at its most pure and artistic. I love many forms of music, and there are many apps for curating your modern music collection, but this is something essential for all music lovers young and old to explore and experience the deep roots music has in the formation of humanity.

The app we NEEDED
by NotRathod on 2020/02/26 02:11
I didn’t not know I needed this app until I tried it out. It is innovative, easy to use, and convenient. It is true that classical music is very different; it can’t be treated the same as other music (not to condemn other genres). The app itself is an experience not unlike the music it offers as well. I cannot imagine what I’d do without it!
It’s pretty good.

Love the idea
by MCBeefJerky on 2020/02/20 15:29
I love the idea of this but it's a hard value proposition when compared to say Amazon Music. I found the Amazon and iTunes libraries were better than I expected for classical, plus if I want to have a Tool moment...I'm still good to go. For me, this is a 'supplemental' service and should be like $4.99/mo. I also found the playlists to be weak. Classical experts should be pumping out playlists I can't possibly be familiar with, in their sleep. Nice try. I hope the classical- only crowd is big enough to keep the wheel turning.
Great, but only with Premium
by mr. Esrever on 2020/02/13 04:26
I got the free trial, which was outstanding, but when I was left without it I was met with five adds per song, rendering my experience annoying. Great, great recordings, and I quite enjoyed the, mood section. Still highly recommended, and the premium gets five stars, but the non-premium only gets three, so I’m compensating with four stars.

This app is exactly what I’ve been looking for. The search and interface actually work for classical music, the sound quality is terrific, and most impressively there’s a huge selection of exclusive and/or curated content. 100% worth the subscription fee.
Great potential. But annoying
by NotSheldon1 on 2020/01/13 05:56
Love this app. The mood settings, everything i love it. But heres my problem. The subscription. I understand you need money and thats fine, but it pisses me off that you can have a certain piece of music in loop or atleast be able to skip a piece of music. I mean these amazing composers composed the greatest music ever. And you can only listen to it once? Just once? I would like it if all the features you would expect from a music app to be removed, again, these composers composed amazing work. If you want money, have songs on premium, or heck maybe you gotta buy a song. But dont do that to most of them. Great potential, but they pay wall ruins it. And i want an actual person to respond not an automatic respond

Frequent stops and many “non-starters”
by johannsebbach on 2019/06/19 06:17
The idea of classical focus streaming is good and I like the way I can search recordings by composers, soloists, ensembles and many criterion that none of the other popular streaming services can match. The lossless streaming is also nice. However, the connection issues are very annoying. Usually, after a couple skips to find the right music for the moment, the app will be stuck at time zero, with the loading/connecting icon spinning forever. Once this happens, you will not be able to play any other work as they will also be “non-starters”. Only killing (swipe up in iOS) and restarting the app could fix this. Also, the music might suddenly stop in the middle of a piece for no apparent reason sometimes. Also, as someone already mentioned, there is no easy way you can see the album cover when you are playing the music. The only time the app shows the album cover is when you actually play the “album” instead of a piece you located through search. I am not sure about future generations but most of us today still identify certain recordings by the album covers. There is no point showing the same Beethoven’s portrait when I go through his piano sonatas from various performers.
Great collection and curated playlists.
by Ca_55f1 on 2019/02/13 11:26
Hello, IDAGIO is a great tool and music service that provides that user a range of different high quality lossless recordings. The music is updated regularly and new recordings are available instantly. However, the app needs a bit more work, it is not very user friendly and has bugs that needs fixing: - You cannot reorder songs in a playlists you created. - There’s not shuffle option when listing to songs anywhere, songs play in the order they are in, and you always have to choose the piece you want to listen to. - You cannot choose songs to play next or put them in queue. - There’s no option to choose ‘next similar song by different player’ just like in the website. This is an excellent option that is missing from this app. - Text is a bit small and hard to read, especially of performers’ names. Can be eye straining sometimes. - Music stops playing after you receive a phone call. - There are internet connection problems, especially when streaming on cellular network. Suggestions for Review: - Please add a Dark Mode option. The menus can be too bright, especially when browsing at night. - Can you please add the option to have the album’s artwork appear in the music player, instead of the composer’s picture. This is very helpful when choosing between music pieces by looking at the picture than just reading the recordings names. - Can you please add Force Touch support for supported devices. Thank you.
Perfect, But Missing One Feature
by Your everyday cup of Joe on 2019/07/02 15:18
IDAGIO truly is the ultimate classical music lover’s service. No other music streaming service (including Primephonic) comes close to matching the catalogue and search capabilities that IDAGIO has to offer. The app interface feels familiar, is clean and easy to use. The only missing feature holding me back from five stars is the fact that you cannot automatically set a certain playback quality for WiFi and cellular streaming. For example, to tell the app to automatically use AAC 320 KBPS for cellular streaming and Lossless FLAC for WiFi. While the streaming quality can be switched manually, it is a bit of pain to have to do so every time I switch from WiFi to cellular data and vice-versa. This is one feature that Primephonic holds over IDAGIO. I hope to see this feature integrated in the (hopefully) near future, and then I will without hesitation award IDAGIO its fifth star.
Exactly what is needed
by Eldavido on 2019/04/04 13:25
I had been thinking for a long time about how classical music had no approachable streaming service and I had even worked on how a proper service should be organized. This is almost exactly how I had envisioned it and even better. For anyone who is turned off by the subscribe, consider for a moment how little money there is in classical music. Consider how the appreciation of classical music has been fading. Paying for this service is giving another chance for classical music to be explored at ease and to breath again in this new age of technology. I immediately signed up for the service because I believe this team deserves every cent of it. Thank you for this great app
Exactly What I Was Looking For
by Clevershutter on 2019/04/22 00:44
I’ve struggled for a while trying to organize my classical collection on iTunes without much success for a simple reason: iTunes organizes music by track. That doesn’t work for classical music. When I found IDAGIO I cleared my classical collection from iTunes and I rebuilt it on IDAGIO. Now I find myself listening to IDAGIO all the time. I love the sound quality and the search engine. I can find what I want to listen to quickly and I can enjoy it and get lost in the music thanks to this little app. One request to the product management team: Please give us CarPlay support. I want to see IDAGIO on the CarPlay screen in my car. You’ll make a lot of us very happy when it finally comes out.
Excellent curation. Everything classical fans dream of.
by Joel D. Arnold on 2019/05/15 06:08
I’ve been dedicated to classical music lifelong and consume massive amounts weekly. Prior to this I used general music services which were Ok. But IDAGIO has the power of discovery, both giving me incredible access to even obscure works but also excellent curation and the discovery of things I’ve never found but love. It has made this already quite broad classical fan even broader. I’ve recommended it to all my friends and become a massive fan of IDAGIO. I’m opening this app every day, all day. Btw, very responsive developer. I used to have three suggestions here but they fixed all of those things within a few months. It’s ridiculous. Very impressive.
Really Nice! (Aside from subscription)
by IvenVlex on 2018/10/13 18:09
I really love classical music, and this app has a seemingly endless supply of it! Therefore, I thoroughly enjoy this app; however, I docked one star bc it does require a paid subscription. FRET NOT: upon first opening it so generously gives 2 weeks free of the subscription, but after that, tbh I am unsure of how much it costs. I am not one to pay for subscriptions, so at first I was going to stop it after the trial was up, but the app is so good that I may continue it (depending on how much it asks me to pay). Overall, wonderful app, I recommend trying it even if you do not wish to continue the subscription beyond the trial (which is completely understandable) bc its really nice to have all of this classical music if only for 2 weeks.
Best streaming for classical music period
by Ytsejam58 on 2018/11/01 12:19
I've always been fascinated by classical music but was intimidated by the hugeness of everything. So many composers, so many symphonies. But Idagio puts fun in classical music. The home page shows new releases and some highlights based on what you've listened to. This is a good place to start of you have no idea where to start. Then you can pick a station based on mood. I find this feature to be very useful and accurate. And then, you can search by a specific computer, performance, symphony, whatever. It's very very detailed, which I love. You can also upgrade to listen in lossless format. Really just amazing app all together.

Fantastic app to open the world of classical music
by hgdkuyfku on 2019/08/19 17:54
Have been a subscriber for a few weeks, and can’t praise IDAGIO enough for the thoughtful organization of this app, which follows the natural ways one thinks about classical repertoire - composers, works, albums, and artists. No more frustrating and fruitless “artist=Beethoven” types of searches as you suffer on other music streaming apps. Especially appreciate the ability to easily access and listen to multiple (often, ALL) recordings of a given work - if you are a music student, this app is for you! Thanks, IDAGIO, for your care and attention to the classical music listener experience!
Best app for common people
by Erica_2221 on 2018/10/27 20:19
I enjoyed this app quite a bit. I am not the kind of people who know classical music a lot or super professional. I usually just listen when I need some relaxation and don’t care much about listening an entire concert. This app fits best on my needs and the best part of the app is it allows you to choose music based on your moods. Usually I don’t really have some particular favorite composers, just want to have something playing to make my mind comfortable. Such choosing music based on moods options reduces my time on picking musics. Really enjoy this app!
Thank you!
Top notch
by joshin'ron on 2020/07/28 14:52
I’ve never left an app review.
Nearly perfect
by joe419 on 2019/01/16 11:24
I adore this app. The sound quality, content, and app functionality is top notch. My one complaint is the lack of liner notes. My other fav streaming service is Qobuz because most albums have pdf’s of the album booklets which contain multitudes of important information, especially for classical albums. I didn’t think this was a big deal until I experienced it and realized the enhanced experience of being able to read more from performers, conductors, and historical information while listening to an album. If this were added, this app would be 5 stars for sure.
Brilliant, but pauses between tracks
by frosts0 on 2019/03/30 03:14
Just the low price for lossless audio makes Idagio exceptional. The metadata make it truly great, especially the ease of navigating multi-movement works. The two downsides I’ve found are pauses between streamed (not downloaded) tracks even during gapless works (e.g., Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring)—really off-putting—and the lack of any option to make Idagio stop after playing what I’ve selected rather than insisting I listen to recommended music—I wanted a moment to reflect on the Schubert sonata in silence. Please fix these, and I will wholeheartedly award 5 stars. Idagio can be better. It’s already the best.
Welcome to North America, IDAGIO!
by WS in Seattle on 2018/12/02 03:55
I am a professional musician and have been looking for this kind of thorough, scholarly, and and very well organized service for years! Want to study performance practice of Beethoven symphonies? You have over 290 versions/recordings of Beethoven’s 7th Symphony alone! Further, I love the way Idagio has included local performers in the mix. Likewise, many composers whom one may not know are included, always a plus. I am thoroughly impressed with this service and I highly recommend to any lover of great music. A service worth listening to and supporting!
First Day and I am so happy to have found Idagio
by cekulesh on 2018/12/30 22:55
I just found IDAGIO- I’ve tried some other streaming services for classical music but each one was lacking in some way. IDAGIO looks like a great solution for classical music lovers. The iPhone app is easy to use right away. Plus it integrates into my Sonos system. I also just discovered that I could get it to stream to Sonos directly from the IDAGIO app itself. This is terrific, because the Sonos interface to Idagio is not as full featured- so I was looking for a very specific cello sonata. Found it on the app and I thought I would have to save it to my collection and then go to Sonos to play it. Happily I discovered that I could play it on my Sonos right there. This is a great integration. It’s only Day 1 but so far I have easily found music or performers I was looking for, and it is clearly designed with the classical music listener in mind. Thanks!!
THE BEST

I’ve always wanted something like this! I love classical music, and this app lets you stream Classical, Romantic, and 20th Century music. This app has introduced me to many different pieces of music! Franz Liszt (my favorite composer) I thought he only wrote 6 Pieces containing the orchestra. Apparently he wrote a ton. Currently I am listening to one of his concertos right now. This app is great! It gives you all the best players. This is the greatest application to use to stream Classical music. For Classical music lovers! Download it it’s free high quality application.

The UI is very much like entering a red velvet and hardwood Lobby of the virtual time and space museum of all emotion. Associating classical music with the MOODS they evoke in the listener is genius. As much as I hate to admit, I do not know the names of conductors — so being able to experience different composers is helpful... Might cancel Netflix and just stream strings and keep playin Chess With Friends. Give you marketing geniuses 5 stars too cuz that ad is how I discovered you, of course. As if ya didn’t know!
Wonderful music
by pwrnyc on 2019/01/28 04:36
I love the selection of music and am learning to use it well. I still find certain operations awkward— selecting something and not being sure it will download promptly, for example, and switching devices to play/-but was surprised and delighted when my iPhone and idagio found the Sonos in the home I was visiting and resounded throughout. My ultimate wish would be to be able to easily turn on the Bach Goldberg Variations when I cannot sleep-without having to turn on the lights and get my glasses.

I’m not a well educated person on the classical music stand point. Until I discovered IDAGIO, I relied on diverse radio stations but I felt it was more or less the same kind of music played over and over. IDAGIO opened all kinds of new doors, I love the format, the diversity, composers, periods, genres, interpreters. I love Emily’s suggestions, I love the mood selection when I just want to set up something quickly. It’s a fantastic APP for anybody who loves classical music. Great job, guys!
There needs to be a control built in to fix this problem.

by D. Michael Owen on 2019/04/10 21:42
Props to the developers for listening when I complained (and unsubscribed) over the addition of an “autoplay” feature that played suggested music when an album or playlist was done. You can now turn this feature off. And I am back to being a subscriber to Idagio, which offers best-in-class music discovery, metadata and search, and audio quality for people who listen to classical music.
Superb streaming for classical music!

The more I explore the app, the more impressed I am by all the ways IDAGIO lets me discover and enjoy my favorite music. All the curated playlists I have tried are excellent. The search features seem limitless. Even the “Mood” playlists, which I expected to be a bit corny, are surprisingly and consistently exactly right. This is not just a beautiful app; it’s thoughtfully and creatively arranged content. Really a pleasure to use!
Simply the best for streaming classical music
by Older&dirt on 2019/02/18 16:04
I have used several different music streaming services primarily for classical music and jazz. IDAGIO is easily the best at serving its genre, classical music of all styles and periods. The search capabilities are uniquely suited for classical music and the sound quality is superb. It also appears that IDAGIO has a fairer system for compensating the musicians and recording companies. I have never felt more enthusiastic about giving an app five stars.

If you enjoy classical music then this is really the app for you. The sound quality is absolutely addicitive. The design is slik, user friendly and organised. The only catch is that its almost 10 dollars a month. As I am a student I wished I had a student discount. But I think I will try to find a way to afford it somehow. Anyone who can afford it must just absolutely go for it.
Now it crashes repeatedly
by jjphoto on 2019/05/21 14:01
Update - after latest update the app crashes any time you search for anything. I even deleted the app and reinstalled. Same result. There is a major problem with it when you have to start and start a track. I’ll have to stop the music for a few minutes while I have a conversation with a coworker (I stream to a Bluetooth speaker in my office) and when the conversation is over I will hit play. It will usually start the track over again or it will leap ahead arbitrarily to another track. Otherwise I love this service and am happy to pay for it. It fills a great void for classical fans.
Streaming Classical Done Right
by Jacob Hantla on 2019/12/22 00:27
Oh how I wish Apple Music would just buy IDAGIO. This app is set up perfectly for discovery and finding your favorite recording of your favorite piece. I am truly enjoying the lossless FLAC quality on my headphones. I’ve heard it said that people can’t tell the difference. Listening to the same track blinded on Apple Music and IDAGIO, I certainly can, especially full orchestral albums.
Great! And getting better all the time
by WickSmith on 2019/10/11 14:06
A seemingly endless catalogue of recordings. UI can be tricky, especially returning to a previous screen. But the stream is reliable and the quality fine, depending on the quality of the original recording. Search is useful, thanks to stacked filters. But caused me a little frustration until I got the hang of it. All in all, highly recommended.
Black screen on iPhone
by Bay Area EC on 2018/11/05 20:39
I like the app and the music that’s available. The only problem is that I’ve now gotten just a black screen on my iPhone when I try to use the app. I’ve tried deleting it and reinstalling it and it still doesn’t always work. Then suddenly, a week or so later, it will come back. Please tell us how to keep it working on an iPhone 8.
IDAGIO is Divine
by Wolfplayz on 2018/12/29 18:15
This streaming service is absolutely perfect. All the classical music you could ever want, with exquisitely fine-grained search tools, delivered in the highest quality digital sound, all at your fingertips for an absurdly small price. This is pure crack for the classical music fan, both casual and scholarly. The modern apparatuses of music streaming have been utilized and exalted to the highest degree with respect to this genre. You will love this app.
Gapless Needed
by Rodrigaj on 2019/03/28 02:51
4 stars for not having gapless playback and the inability to reorder user playlist. If you add a track(s) to a playlist and get the order wrong you cannot go back and reorder the list. Otherwise, IDAGIO has accomplished what no other streaming service has done - classical music searches that are a pleasure to perform. I’ve been a subscriber since you began offering IDAGIO in the USA and will continue to support this streaming service because of the search.
So good I decided to go premium
by erdoctr on 2019/12/09 03:14
I absolutely love classical music, but I don’t know the names of many composers or their works. Because of this, having the ability to choose a playlist by mood works brilliantly! The quality of the selections is wonderful and the sound quality is equally pristine. I also really appreciate how seamlessly this works with my Sonos speakers!
Outstanding! My favorite music app
by yosef123 on 2019/07/13 13:48
I have never subscribed to a music streaming service, mostly because most services have very few classical offerings. I have listened to IDAGIO every day since I downloaded it, and I’ve been recommending it to friends. I even stream music in the car now. This is the app I have been looking for for years. Thank you!
Phenomenal
by dNelson_ on 2020/04/02 12:19
I am so pleased with IDAGIO! If you care about classical music, there is no better streaming service. It’s easy to navigate the different periods, genres, composers, etc. The playlists are first rate. And now you can read the digital booklets! (Not being able to read the booklets has been one of my chief complaints about streaming services.)
The app is fantastic but

The Apple Watch app crashes, but otherwise on my phone the app is fantastic and I really enjoy choosing by the mood and of course this app is my favorite classical music app, app crashes on my Watch but not the phone. I would still highly recommend the app for people who loves classical music and and also because you get to choose music based on your mood

I love IDAGIO!
by Grey Altman on 2019/03/13 13:29
The app is great and the selection is amazing. I have one minor issue, when paused for too long the track starts over from the beginning. When listening at work I have to pause frequently and it would be nice not to have find where I left off over and over. Otherwise I am extremely pleased.

Amazing app, nonetheless.

by Riley~P on 2020/09/11 23:21
This is definitely the best app I’ve tried for classical music.

The only shortcoming is that it isn’t Siri controllable (as far as I can tell) in the CarPlay version. But it is elegantly put together and really plays to the needs of a serious classical listener.

I’m In Love
by Sashauwuu on 2020/04/16 14:51
This is everything I was looking for from a classical music streaming service. As a developer I can tell a lot of love and hard work went into the software and wanted to let y’all know it’s appreciated and to keep up the good work.
Have been getting “Server Error” messages.
by FiremanEd on 2020/04/08 23:19
I love the application, no doubts about that. But, recently while connected to my home Wi-Fi, I receive a server error on top and only a partial list of albums/composers display. The error does not occur when I turn off Wi-Fi and move over to cellular data. On FirstNET via AT&T.

Needs more work
by Ahmed247 on 2020/04/05 21:15
App content is great.

Terribly frustrating to try to subscribe successfully

The app we NEEDED
by NotRathod on 2020/02/26 02:11
I didn’t not know I needed this app until I tried it out. It is innovative, easy to use, and convenient. It is true that classical music is very different; it can’t be treated the same as other music (not to condemn other genres). The app itself is an experience not unlike the music it offers as well. I cannot imagine what I’d do without it!

Really enjoy this app!

by HS42-71 on 2020/10/01 20:58
I have not listened to much classical music because I didn’t know what to listen to, and the music on the *other* streaming service was uninteresting and predictable. Thank you!

Thanks!!
THE BEST
by Doesn't have a nickname on 2019/06/21 23:43
I’ve always wanted something like this!
Universes Within
by zeniam on 2019/01/29 05:11
The UI is very much like entering a red velvet and hardwood Lobby of the virtual time and space museum of all emotion.
What a pleasure
by La Dordogne on 2019/06/25 19:02
I’m not a well educated person on the classical music stand point.
They listened
Superb streaming for classical music!
by JohnnySantaRosa on 2019/05/23 14:57
The more I explore the app, the more impressed I am by all the ways IDAGIO lets me discover and enjoy my favorite music.
Very impressed
by Dicksyatt on 2019/12/19 21:58
I wish I knew more about classical music so I would know the artists and types but I’m really enjoying clicking around and exploring. wish you had an Apple TV app. Really enjoying listening to your free service. I’m sure I’ll subscribe and I appreciate the free version. Between all the streaming video services for tv plus music streaming for music it is adding up. Thank you and great luck. Sounds awesome
Fantastic quality sound!
by Addicitive Sound Quality! on 2019/01/19 18:10
If you enjoy classical music then this is really the app for you.
The app is fantastic but
by Joan Alaniz on 2020/10/04 14:00
The Apple Watch app crashes, but otherwise on my phone the app is fantastic and I really enjoy choosing by the mood and of course this app is my favorite classical music app, app crashes on my Watch but not the phone. I would still highly recommend the app for people who loves classical music and and also because you get to choose music based on your mood
