I absolutely love this game!!!
by Jess1992allover on 2019/04/25 07:34
It still blows my mind that the furniture we’re using are from actual designers. Now I can’t help but to recognize some of the furniture I use in the game, on t.v.! I feel like an interior designer in training.
All Five Stars

This is awesome app make your own furniture designs so much fun
Great game
by CCookM on 2019/04/25 05:26
The game is fun. However, I started a challenge and used some items I got off the app for a few minutes and when I logged back on it was like I never even started the challenge and the items I had previously used were no longer in my inventory but the funds I used to get them remained gone. I love this app please fix this issue.
Really Fun
by Danipog on 2019/04/25 02:09
This game is a lot of fun. It’s creative and challenging. I do wish that the developers would make a filter to sort the items more by price or brand. Maybe a search field. I also think there should be a confirm purchase button when you click an item instead of just going forward. It would also be more fun if the rooms were not so specific and you could design the room with more freedom. I know the My Home feature allows for some of that but it is not as freeform as I’d like. Overall I enjoy playing, I just wish there were more user friendly functions.
Expensive to play
by Raudyjc on 2019/04/25 02:03
Need to make it more affordable to play. Great concept - great design - love the real world ability to purchase pieces in the design. Need to make more art and accessories available in earlier levels. Fun but very pricey!!
Disappointed
by wwwwewwwwe on 2019/04/25 01:56
I loved this game at first. But it started charging me for packages that I didn’t approve , that’s when I started getting unhappy. I contacted customer support and they have answered my questions... however I continue to get charged for stuff I haven’t approved. I’ve lost some 20.00 or 30.00 of which I haven’t recovered. I finally had to delete the app in hopes that these charges will stop!:/
It pretty good
by Paris0511 on 2019/04/24 23:42
I really like this games and I have had for over 2 months now. One thing I think they should fix is that the people who have had the game longer is always winning the challenges. I’ve only been on for 2 months and the closest I’ve ever gotten 5.00 is a 4.76, and that’s because I have only been on it for 2 months. The same people are always winning the challenges so no one else get a turn to win. Because sometimes the people who beat you the designs don’t match the standards and sometimes really ugly. I also wish when you vote you would get more than 3 keys or whatever you use to enter your design, and when you enter a design you get more than 1 home point.
Too expensive
by busta G on 2019/04/24 21:46
This game is fun and I really like it but in order to really be able to play you’d have to spend $100+ per month on diamonds which is ridiculous. I think that there needs to be away to make more money in the game so that you can play without having to spend so much money. Or make things cost less so that $20 can go a lot farther.
Keep items!
by Sa♏ on 2019/04/24 15:18
I just started playing this game and I thought it was pretty cool at first. This game is disappointing! WHY DO WE NOT GET TO KEEP THE FURNITURE? What’s the point!? I’m a daily player of Covet and at least we keep what we buy or win with that game!
Fix the scoring!
by MystikQT on 2019/04/24 14:32
Updating my review from over a year ago, because the voting has gotten out of control. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as to which designs are paired together for voting rounds, and some of the designs that win are horrible - users that did not add all items, furniture that’s totally out of scale, etc. I just can’t believe anyone’s legitimately voting for some of them. I’ve also noticed that if I have a streak of high scores, that will immediately be followed by a streak of very low scores. I’m not doing anything differently, and inventory is so expensive that I’m basically using the same pieces. This has happened consistently and feels like some kind of algorithmic issue. I’m dropping my rating to three stars, because it’s obvious something is up with this. And when your scores determine so much else in the game (like what pieces you get for later use), it’s really frustrating that the issue has only gotten worse, with seemingly no attempts to fix it. - First, the people complaining that only "boring" designs win are absolutely sour grapes. The bulk of the items within this game are neutral, so it's not always easy to use the more colorful pieces in effective ways. These items are for sale in real life, and neutrals are on trend - so this makes sense. I really like this game, though I wish it were a little easier to just design. I'd love to see a budget per-room as part of the challenge. Could definitely use more accessories, and too many "keys" are required to enter a challenge, but I get that they want to encourage voting. Overall, a lot of fun.
Voting
by toasty-pumpkin on 2019/04/24 13:11
Fix the voting system! It is garbage! Make it a simple rate the room from 1-5 instead of comparing. Also there should be prizes for each level not just 4 and 5.

by Wecasas on 2019/04/24 12:08
I think it’s time to stop playing this game after a year of being fooled. You need to invest money to keep playing. I have invested money , and also took advantage of free diamonds offers. Recently, no free stuff is available. They are not giving the free 300 diamonds daily. I’m not willing to keep on throwing money away for this game. I’m too grown-up to be fooled!!!
Love the game but would like to see some changes
by design review on 2019/04/24 11:55
Love this game! It’s very addicting but some things I would like to see changed. When you “buy” an item it doesn’t disappear after 5 uses. Also, more rooms other than living rooms. I have so many kitchen tables, dressers, etc. that are not used because they are always offering designs for living rooms.
Addictive and super fun
by Driaday on 2019/04/24 06:19
I love this game and the creativity you get to express! The option to design your own home is also fun and unique. I just wish items didn’t disappear after 5 uses, especially if I spend real money on it. It’s really disappointing and limits you, if you can’t invest a lot of your real money in it.
Purchased items disappear
by erinvictoria3 on 2019/04/23 22:28
I’ve purchased a couple of the premium bundles with very nice items. These items disappear from inventory after only one use. Customer service will not respond. I will be contacting apple, bbb, and my card provider in regards to this.

Reward long time players
by Dmcg123563 on 2019/04/23 16:18
I love this game. I’ve been playing for two years and I still find myself excited to complete the daily challenge. And I love the new home option. And I’ve spent more money than I care to admit on this game. Which brings me to the 3-stars. As mentioned, I’ve been playing for more than two years and I have probably rented one version of the potted plants more than 500x now. At some point, I should own this design piece. It doesn’t make sense that I have to use 650 diamonds almost every other challenge to “rent” something that I should own right now. I understand the purpose of the game is to buy more inventory, and I’ve done my share of using my own money, but this is ridiculous. And the fact that you need to use these pieces sometimes 3 or more times in a room just means you buy them more often! Either increase your daily allotment of diamonds, lower the costs on more frequently used design items (not furniture)or reward long-time players and let them own a piece after a certain number of uses.
Problema al jugar
by DJ 9027 on 2019/04/23 14:26
El juego es maravilloso en si, aunque después de haber actualizado la ultima versión no he podido jugar; porque cada vez que deseo un artículo para decorar sale que el artículo no existe en mi inventario. Ya he intentado reiniciarlo; incluso he llegado a borrarlo e instalarlo nuevamente pero me sale igual

Was fun
by Jdub456789543 on 2019/04/23 11:08
Was a fun game, now it’s near to impossible to get diamonds without having to purchase or sign up for something. Do NOT sign up for anything, you’ll get spammed with an insane amount of ‘government’ phone calls, blocked up to 14 different numbers in one day. Learned my lesson, funny how those calls have almost come to a stop since I stopped ‘signing’ up for things in this app or should I say with shady tapjoy. Such a shame.
Diamonds and cash?
by Niya4 on 2019/04/23 10:27
The game is addictive, however, I hate this game sometimes. It expects you to spend over a thousand dollars for something your only going to get 500 for in return. And diamonds are ridiculous. You can only get art work using diamonds, which is okay I guess because it shows how much they are worth... but.. to get more diamonds you either have to spend money (real money) or complete offers.. (offers that you have to pay money for). HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GET DIAMONDS THEN! Im broke and offers are supposed to be a different way to get diamonds for free. And because I don’t have diamonds,I don’t have good art, and when you don’t have good art, I get a low score, therefore I don’t like playing this game. Sometimes.
Fun
by Mrs.Garcia-Mora on 2019/04/23 07:38
It’s fun , I find myself wanting to play more but it’s more of a game that I can play every other day due to the fact that the cost of the furniture requires too much cash/diamonds.... also the prizes given when you win a challenge are not that great. Also the results take so long to come in...
App does not work

I’ve tried to use this app like six times, each time, I’m not able to load anything to design anything. I’ve redownloaded the app multiple times on multiple devices. I’ve turned my iPad on and off again, cleared everything, and then tried again hours later, this app does NOT work

Not enough challenges
by bells 110 on 2019/04/22 21:59
This would be an even better game if the challenges were not spaced so far apart. There should be a steady stream of challenges to complete rather than hailing to wait 2 or 3 days to get more. But it’s fun to play.
READ the 1-Star complaints!!! They are legit!!
by Sdoss25 on 2019/04/22 21:12
This game is very addicting. I have been playing over a year and a half and have spent probably thousands of dollars without even realizing it. All of the accessories have to be paid with diamonds and if you don’t have enough cash to exchange for diamonds, you have to purchase or watch hundreds of videos to get 15-20 diamonds per video. Most accessories cost at least 500 diamonds. Now, maybe because I complained, I can’t even get the offer’s screen anymore so I can’t get free videos nor offers. They put up these special packages or new furniture brands that you must purchase in order to use and some challenges require use of some of these brands. So, if you want to complete the challenge you have to make a purchase. The accessories, rugs, wall art, etc hardly ever change unless you’ve purchased some of the new, limited packages and have some saved for later but this game is terrible in that regard. It seems they only strategize in order to take out money. And like fools we fall for it. Instead of being addicted to drugs, this is the drug. The voting is biased. If you try to remotely follow what the owner desires, you may get 1-3 stars. The white, black, blue, green, and grey rooms get the 5 stars. If you don’t put a rug in your design-don’t look for a five-star room. I’ve been on level 70 now for a while. They do not update free levels as often as they should- yet- they offer limited packages for purchase anytime there is a holiday or special event. Also, they respond to these complaints with their email address for us to send ideas. If we don’t send the ideas in the email they provide with their response- they use that as their justification for not being able to fix any of our complaints (although they read them here). The furniture is expensive. I mean I get that these are the prices if purchased in the real world but this is a game- lower the prices or offer more ways to get diamonds and cash. Or give more for 4 and 5 star designs. Don’t get into this game if you can’t afford a habit because it will turn into one. This could be an awesome game but the developer and everyone apart of this app is in it for pure profit. Money pit game! The new My Home challenge is nice but you have to use your inventory and you have to play 12-15 challenges just to design one room in the house- more ways to make money because you’re using your inventory on challenges and your MyHome designs. Please be aware of this game!
NOTHING BAD TO SAY ABOUT IT 😍😊😆
by SPLOOSH!!! (ribbit) on 2019/04/22 17:50
I really don’t have anything bad to say about this game. (Which is good) This app doesn’t give you adds unless you want to get coins or diamonds by watching instead of purchasing. There are so many different challenges you can do once you get further into the game so I highly suggest you get this app. Crowdstar Inc’s other app called Covet Fashion is also recommended if you enjoy Design Home.

Watch your purchases very carefully!
by Leanne WS on 2019/04/22 15:02
I’ve loved this game for awhile now, and I’ve gotten into buying diamonds. I’m not going to lie - if you want to truly enjoy the game, you’re probably going to end up having to make purchases. What is a problem is that I’ve now had to go through Apple Chat twice this month, because this app WILL place multiple orders without your consent. Two times now I have ordered one package of diamonds, went through Touch ID, received one package, but two orders go through. You never receive the double diamonds. I should have learned the first time they scammed me, but I thought it was a one time thing. If you play this, which I now do NOT recommend, be very careful and watch your bank accounts closely. Seriously - beware.
This Game Is for the Rich!
by Momomoatsie on 2019/04/22 14:29
I love this game. My only complaint is there is such a long time to wait for decorating and items. I could buy constantly but cannot afford to do that. This is a Winner app if you could make it a little faster for us. I hate waiting. Designing is so much fun but takes for ever. It gets so frustrating! I woke up thinking I could design a room to find out I cannot afford one and have to wait 12 hours for collecting my money. If I improve my items my money gets too low to design another room. I hate this. Why not design an app that does not cost money and the little people can play and have fun. Please correct this and more rooms can be built. Thank you!I AM FINISHED WITH THIS FUN GAME! I HAVE TO BUY MONEY TO BE ABLE TO PLAY. I CANNOT EVEN BUILD OTHER TOOMS BECAUSE I NEED TO UPGRADE MY FURNITURE ETC. I HAVE BEEN ON #39 for three days as it’s impossible to win the game where you earn credits. So sad as it could be so fun!
Designed for Fun!
by BLCJT on 2019/04/22 13:11
Design Home is my newest addiction - love it! My only regret is that you can't rearrange furniture. That feature would make it way over the top! I would like it better IF when a design is suggested or required it must also be judged by that design style. People get 5s for making a beautiful room, never mind that it is supposed to be "rustic", "Modern", etc. Why make a requirement if it doesn't matter?
Design home
by cant be duplicated on 2019/04/22 11:07
This is a great game especially if your into designing or beginner designer. I just think there can be room for improvement. I don’t like that you are very limited to inventory until you reach a certain level. I think this limits you from being able to give your all to a design. Then you are scored by designer that have a higher level then you and have more access to more inventory, this an unfair score because the lower level your on the least inventory you have access to. It would be great that if you have the money diamonds to purchase you shouldn’t be limited to only certain items. And once you purchase something you should have to keep buying it if you add more inventory which give designer more to choose from they will purchase more different items. The inventory is a bit pricey and the money give is low. Plus you have to meet requirements that’s not in budget when your limited because of your level
Very fun but spendy, and the judging is a joke
by Zulin728 on 2019/04/22 09:27
I’m loving this app, finally having got into it after seeing my daughter design gorgeous spaces for a couple of years. There are so many options to choose from. It’s interesting and challenging. Two complaints: 1) It’s very expensive! I’ve only been playing for about a month and have spent over $300—while trying to control my spending! My only solution is to play less often. Bummer! 2) The judging is frustrating. If you look at the “top designs” for any given scenario, you’ll see that folks love symmetry almost to a laughable degree. They duplicate pieces one side of a room to the next: same sideboard on both sides of the room, same decorative item on the sideboard, same art piece on both sides of the room! This is lazy design, but it wins all the contests! So I’m focusing on the gorgeous options available and pretty much ignoring the judging, though doing so can cost me prizes.
I love this game and the idea behind it, but...
by Reedear on 2019/04/22 08:37
I noticed this app years ago and tried it out. Unfortunately, because I was new to the game, it was VERY hard to compete because you need in-game currency to design your rooms. I loved the concept, but I kept losing (because my rooms didn’t look good with so few items) and deleted the app. A friend of mine recently started talking about it and I rejoined. I can’t remember if “daily” challenges were a thing when I first joined, but they are literally the ONLY way you can get anywhere in this game without spending any or a lot of real life cash. The game is much more fun now that I have a bit of cash to buy items I need; if they ever get rid of it or lower it, I’m gone, though, lol. My biggest complaint and why I’m rating it today is disappearing items. I know there are supposed “limited” items, which I’m not exactly sure how they work. I guess you can only use them a limited amount of times before you have to buy it again and that’s fine. My issue is with items that ARE NOT limited items disappearing from “owned” my inventory. Unless, I’m understanding the regular items wrong and “limited” items are only usable during a certain time period and regular items disappear after a certain number of uses... which is honestly, ridiculous; I shouldn’t have to keep buying an item I have, but anyway. I first noticed it a few designs ago, but thought I was imagining it or that I hadn’t bought these items and just thought I did... even though I’ve used them before. However, this time, I bought an item the other day. It was NOT a limited item. When I went to use it in one of my designs, it was not there. It was a multi-colored rug and I looked in my “owned” items multiple times; it wasn’t there. I was really getting into it and my friend and I have been sharing our designs, so it’s made me start thinking I could spend a bit of money on it to get more items, BUT if my items are going to be randomly disappearing after I know I bought them and they aren’t limited items, I’m definitely NOT going to spend my money. This app needs to figure out why this is happening and fix it, otherwise, you certainly aren’t getting any real cash from me. And it’s not just unique to me, either. My friend has mentioned that she swears she’s bought items, but they don’t show up in her inventory after a while, so this is a big issue. Then, why is there only one daily? It’s not like the prizes are that amazing that you couldn’t have two a day. Especially since your items disappear after a few uses. 🙄 And I’ve noticed a LOT of the top winners aren’t even following the design set for them. Like, there was a beautiful room, but it was a weird mix of furniture and not what the room called for. I’m not sure what’s up with that, but it’s unfair when you stick to the design challenge and either don’t win or win by just a hair, but the top rooms don’t and get 5 stars.
Missing inventory
by Jfkfkint on 2019/04/22 05:50
This game is extremely fun and entertaining, however there are a couple of things I don' t like. The first is getting constant messages saying inventory that I have purchased cannot be found in the warehouse! Even items I want to purchase cannot be found in the warehouse so I'm limited in how I can design the room". The second thing is the room loading without the true features or colors! I designed a room that had blue walls only to have brick walls show up in the finished design which made my room look pretty stupid. The missing inventory has occurred so much until I will not be playing anymore after I use the diamonds I've purchased. It is a waste!

It really fun do a lot more ads (a lot )
Terrible customer support.
by Om-Nom Lover<3 on 2019/04/21 23:42
I recently switched devices and when accessing the Design Home, I entered my correct email but ran into problems. I contacted support through the app and did not receive a reply for three (3) days. I tried their way of troubleshooting, but it did not fully work. It did not restore the levels I had on Design Home. I’ve officially deleted this app even though it was a favorite.
Addictive but costly
by ClubEd on 2019/04/21 21:34
I do like playing, but the cost of diamonds to buy furniture is way too pricey - developers are greedy Also, decorative selections for wall art, etc, is severely limited and could be much much better. Color palette and tone of art pieces are restricted to one or two genres, when the rooms are in multiple settings. Matching pieces of furniture are not available, can't buy a chair and matching ottoman most of the time. Can't buy a matching coffee table and end table most of the time. I have won bookcases as prizes 10 times, but they pile up because only one in 7 -10 challenges have a place for a bookcase. And,we could use more home offices, dens etc, but the art selections really need to be expanded. And give us a break and Lowe the cost, I'm sure you're making a bundle on this app.
Needs lots of improvement
by khimlaw on 2019/04/21 18:46
I will keep checking back to see if any of these improvements have been made. I really like the concept. Until then I am done. 1. Stop pitting low level players against high level in the voting element. I cant purchase accessories even if I wanted to pay. All the high level players win. 2. Players should be forced to play according to the requested design scheme in the description. Example couple wants to soften black/white to softer grays. Top winners had greens- yellows and flowers. Owners want bright colors to liven up her space—- winners were black and brown designs. 3. Voting- everyone doesn’t use the equal button. They are just picking something. I didn’t know what it was until long after I began. Options should be 1-2 or neither. 4. Diamond purchases are a rip off.
Great new feature

Fabulous game idea, lacks incentives
by BUY3R B3W4RE on 2019/04/21 06:20
I would happily spend hundreds of dollars repeatedly on this game (heck I spent probably $150 the first few days), it’s that fun and addicting to go “shopping” for real furniture and style up a real room as if I was a designer with my own hgtv show! It’s just s fantastic premise for a game! But I am also competitive, and I need my efforts recognized. In the voting section, I see room after room where clearly no thought at all was put towards color, theme or style - they’re so horrific and there’s so many of them that I don’t even enjoy voting because I can’t stand looking at those atrocities any longer. But the real problem is that my rooms on which I have spent considerable time and gems to get just the right pieces are consistently scoring in the 3’s and 4’s. Some of my rooms have been nearly identical to ones that have earned 5 stars and “top design” recognition, so I’m baffled as to why my scores are so low. I mean I would expect at least a handful of them to be 5 star rated. Why is it so hard to get a 5 star rating anyways? Especially when 95% of rooms out there are clearly just thrown together with whatever happened to be in their inventory, it just doesn’t make any sense!!! I don’t have a problem spending a LOT of money on a game that’s feeding both my inner hgtv monster and my shopping addiction at the same time. But you need to provide better incentive and motivation to get me to part with any more real money. First, fix the broken voting system - the weird way the rooms are matched is obviously not random - its confusing for voters and it’s not fair to those putting real effort (and real money) into their designs. Second give better prizes: for example a prize where you get enough diamonds to pay for what was spent on the room and come out ahead would be nice - I mean what am I really going to do with a single crap piece of furniture that I don’t like and I’ll never use anyways? Third, limited items and leveling up are ridiculous ideas - it makes everyone’s room designs boring and repetitive when all the really interesting accessories can’t be purchased. Why would you take the time to add all these really cool items to your game and not offer them for sale to everyone at any time? Fix these problems and I’ll be motivated to open up my wallet again. Or don’t fix them and I’ll eventually get bored of saving up my measly 500 gems per day for two weeks before I have enough to do a nice room and I’ll go find a better game to spend my money on. I really hope that you do decide to fix it though because I truly loved doing all the challenges ... before the reality of the skewed voting results and sucky prizes started really sinking in, that is.

Getting Monotonous!
by pflyerscubs on 2019/04/20 23:45
Love the concept of the game, but after a while, it gets boring seeing a sofa across from 2 chairs, with a console on the back wall! The paintings are too limited, as well as table art! I agree sir Th another reviewer that the designs that win are the “safe” all black, all white or the eve4 popular all turquoise! If you dare to go bold with color, you will probably be voted barely a 4.0. I’ve been playing for about 2 years, and do get enjoyment sometimes, but they really need to add more table art and wall art.

This really irks me how big levels get 5 star ratings yet the lowers don’t even get the chance to get 5 because we don’t have money or the diamonds to spend on new items like all the decos are worth diamonds why? This is dumb it should be fair for eveyone . It’s not right how we have to use what we limited too and they always winning the good items

The game is fun but its almost like you have to spend money to have a really pretty home and you can really just use your creativity. I suggest a creative mode where you can just play around with different stuff in addition to the challenges.
Bad beginning
by Lilly the reveiwer 12345 on 2019/04/20 17:05
Like most most games you start with a tutorial, but this one was annoying. It made you decorate 4+ houses before you could touch a single button that wasn’t in the tutorial. I wanted to check my notifications I wanted to vote I wanted to do anything other then the tutorial but it wouldn’t let me. And the tutorial since I am not on WiFi and never will be because I live in the middle of nowhere moved so slow. I couldn’t skip that part even if I wanted to because it was loading so long. It is a great game overall but don’t get it trust me on that!

by BombTechWife on 2019/04/20 05:52
This game would be a lot of fun IF the items were not so difficult to obtain without spending actual money. I don’t mind dropping a few bucks here and there on games I love but I feel like they almost force you to buy diamonds if you want to play. Will search for a similar game...

I absolutely love Design home!! But the thing is, awhile after I buy something, it suddenly disappears and I have to get it all over again!!!! It’s not fun and it wastes my diamonds and money in the game.. and now my designs aren’t showing up and it won’t let me submit! ( the submit part maybe just a little issue) please fix all these things!!! It’s REALLY ANNOYING!!!

This is my best friends favorite game and she told me to play it. But the only problem is it won’t even let me play! When it asks to fill the blue bubbles, the screen on the bottom flashes for a second and goes back to the directions “blue bubbles must be filled”. Please fix it, i want to have as much fun as my friend is having. :(
TEMPORARY Prize Awards???!!!
by Gull-ible on 2019/04/19 21:15
At first I thought this app was kind of cool - great graphics, seemingly fun challenges. Until I realized some days into it that all purchases I had made, all prizes awarded, were only TEMPORARY. Are you KIDDING me??? Something I’ve purchased with real money and prizes awarded for my entries are taken away after a few days????? BEYOND RIDICULOUS!!! I have never experienced such a blatantly money-grubbing app. And the so-called challenges are anything but. The top winners don’t seem to follow the guidelines for what/who they are designing for. No rhyme or reason to it. A NURSERY full of poisonous, prickly plants? A supposed-to-be rustic living room with nothing but modern furniture. What is the point of even giving guidelines if they are completely ignored in judging? And that is another issue. Just who is judging this and what are their motives? To pick the best, most accurate attempt to follow the description, or to undermine qualifying entries by voting for crap? This is no longer cool for me anymore and it will be deleted. Sadly, this app could be wildly successful if the designers weren’t so greedy. Maybe they will grow a conscience and cease the paid-for and earned inventory disappearance, enforce the challenge guidelines, and revamp the questionable voting situation. Until then, there are so many DECENT app options out there to play around with - don’t waste your precious time or money with this one. 👎🏻
Good but room for improvement
by Thestraygoat on 2019/04/19 20:27
Its a great game for being creative and learning about home interior design at the same time. I don't like that the items I buy eventually disappear from my inventory and I have to repurchase them, so it can get expensive if you play it everyday. But overall its still a good game for including real life furniture items and the possibilities of designing different rooms!
Biased Voting but fun to play.
by tinkthewolf on 2019/04/19 18:28
The game is fun to play, but don’t get your hopes up on winning very often. The winners are chosen by the players. If the design calls for rustic and you spend money to make the entire room rustic, the voters being the players vote for the designs they like best even if they don’t contain the rustic theme that was asked for. So the winning is biased because it is picked by how it looks not by the quality of the requirements by design. But again it’s fun to play.
Game is not so good.

Fun...but
by Bl@h 😩 on 2019/04/19 11:48
Really fun game. only thing is, a lot of the stuff is very expensive so you will find yourself wanting to spend your real money just afford some of the items. Because Im busy with work a lot, I will only design the home that gives you $2500 everyday for about a week. And collect coins for about a week. That way I can stack up and won’t have to constantly spend my real money on items. And You could spend money on good items but will still score low. I do like the fact that the give you items, once you score a 4 or higher.

I love the game, but a budget?
by Hey-sis on 2019/04/19 01:10
I really like the concept of the game, but in my opinion, the fact that you can’t EARN a large amount of money makes me not want to play. Yes, i know you can get rewards, buy money, trade diamonds for money, and receive daily prizes but they really aren’t enough to create an entire room.. and the prices of the furniture are pretty pricey!
AWSOME AND GREAT

It’s fun
by Evolleyball1722 on 2019/04/18 23:30
Don’t get me wrong like this is a fun game but if you don’t have money to just spend on a virtual game for money and/or diamonds then it’s not fun. You keep losing more and more amounts of money real fast and then you can’t buy anything in the stores l.the idea of the game is amazing though. I personally wouldn’t get this game unless you have money to spend on it. Hope this was helpful😊

Charged my account for nothing
by kreed15 on 2019/04/18 20:28
This game charged my iTunes account for no reason and there is no in-app communication to ask for a refund or to even ask if they made a mistake. I have to go through iTunes to get my money back and it’s a total hassle. DO NOT spend any money in the game. These people are thieves and they stole my money.
Money scam
by nicyname80 on 2019/04/18 18:55
This game is about nothing other than taking your money. In order to complete 5he design challenge you have to buy furniture or at least you think you’re buying it. In reality you are only leasing it. You only get the piece for five uses then you have to buy it all over again. Unless you like spending money to play this stay away!

Keep getting double billed
by jregenold3 on 2019/04/18 15:52
I love this game and have played it for about a year. This is the only game that I play that I purchase things. However, the last month or so every time I buy purchase more diamonds, I have been double billed. I can’t find a way to get my money back. Unfortunately I am going to have to quit playing the game. It was hard enough to justify the purchase of diamonds once a week, but now that I am paying double I can no longer play the game.
Not Player Friendly
by MKKap on 2019/04/18 14:43
Great game, I really enjoy playing it but it is impossible to save money/diamonds for any big purchases. I think this game should offer more ways to earn money so that users can afford to play more challenges and those who need more can then spend their actual money to purchase more. The game seems to only benefit the furniture brands that participate.
Fun Game!
by Episnooze on 2019/04/18 14:00
This game is really fun for me as it gives me an opportunity to be creative when I otherwise use a lot of logic and critical thinking in my day-to-day life. I love that there are so many different possibilities when choosing furniture and accessories. I love that there are many different room varieties as well and that even though the concept of the game could get tedious (just decorating rooms over and over again,) it’s different enough each day to still be satisfying! The app runs well for me and rarely crashes which is great as well. What I don’t like about the app is how you can only really make amazing designs through purchases. I don’t mind spending $5-$10 a month since this app is a main source of entertainment for me, but I recognize that other people can’t afford it like I can. I also find it aggravating when I complete an offer (like download and run an app or reach a level in a certain game) to get more diamonds and it doesn’t work! I would like to see bug fixes in that respect. As a bit of advice to the developers, I would like to see more variety in the types of accessories that we can decorate a room with. Maybe throw pillows, tapestries, table runners, curtains, etc. Maybe even have an accessory like a picture frame, but allow us to choose the color of the frame each time we use it. There is also a desperate need for more hanging artwork for people in the lower levels as well as in general for everyone. I keep seeing the same artwork in winning designs and it is boring and tiresome and slightly unfair for those who haven’t unlocked those few key pieces yet. It would also be fun to be able to see other designers’ profiles after voting on designs. Sometimes I see a design and I think, “wow that person has a great eye. I’d love to see more of their stuff.” I can’t though because there is no way to do that. So instead of switching right away to the next 2 designs to vote on, allow voters the opportunity to explore the designers profiles.
Home Design is like Crack
by ineedtoquit on 2019/04/18 13:26
It’s addictive and can be costly. The voting process is BS. Why pit one room against another? Offer more Diamonds, and players can click Yes or No on one room at a time. Also have more wall and other accessories available for cash, not Diamonds. Also...please develop a 12-step program so I can stop downloading it after quit.
Love this game, but...
by Elhanan2 on 2019/04/18 13:19
I absolutely love this game, but I think that the Tapjoy offers are more of just a scam to get money than it is for the player to get diamonds. The only things on the offer wall that don’t require me buying something are not worth barely any diamonds; I think that many players would have much better reviews and would enjoy this game more if the “videos” (ads) were worth more diamonds- the largest number of diamonds that I’ve seen a video offering was 5 diamonds, and the diamonds that you get from reading an article and clicking on an ad aren’t worth all of the trouble you go through with glitches and ridiculously packed websites that take forever to load. The surveys aren’t worth it either- if your children want to play this game, they have to be over a certain age to get diamonds out of a survey. This is really really annoying to me; the game itself is really fun but I do think that you should get rid of the key thing, or at least make voting worth more keys than just 3. Also, please make at least the Elite challenges worth more home points; getting to 15 of the points to open a room in your home is really difficult when each design is only worth one point. (Especially when you have just finished a room in your home and you don’t have 15 more challenges each worth one point left for you to be able to design more than one room in your home in a day.) Also, I really really love the My Home feature; the only things that I have to say about it is what about when you finish your home? Not that I’m anywhere close to finishing mine, but I’m just wondering. Also, when I really want to do My Home, I usually have to vote until I get to my max keys, 75, but this a) takes forever because it increases in intervals of 3 and b) only gets 3 home points because each design costs 25 keys, except for the daily challenges. I absolutely love this game, regardless of all of its flaws, but please consider fixing at least a few of the things that I mentioned above, especially the Tapjoy offers. Thanks!
Doesn’t always pay you out .
by jcaobe on 2019/04/18 07:37
More than I can count I was not given the reward after an challenge has been complete , rated and in my inbox . When you go to receive your rewards , your tab above doesn’t show that it is deposited or sent . Overall , if I can get the money and diamonds to keep playing I would give this a 5.
Design Home
by lynrd123 on 2019/04/18 06:25
Hold on to your checkbook. The premise is that it is a game but far from it. It is a way to get money from your purse into the owners..to buy the in house furniture to design rooms you are given to decorate. Sounds fun and it can be but the farther you get in the app, the more you have to buy in order to comply with the rules of each room you decorate. But it is the players who decide who gets the high scores which isn’t fair at all. Go spend the money you have on your own home and play poker because the odds are better of winning in gambling than under the odds of the so called game.

Ton of Fun, But Too Greedy
by kamryndk on 2019/04/18 01:39
I love this game. The furniture, the social aspects, the challenges and prizes - it’s great. But the developers are obviously too money-hungry. The sad thing is, I would spend my real money on this game if I could use each piece more than 5 times. Everything is WAY too expensive to have to keep repurchasing, with digital or real money! I can’t even imagine how differently I would play if the furniture and decorations didn’t disappear. You might actually get MORE money that way, as it seems less frivolous and temporary. FYI, no one’s buying your desert decor four times. But they might be persuaded to buy at once if it’ll actually last more than three days.
Love the game but...
by bosko2727 on 2019/04/18 00:39
I love this game. I play it everyday and enjoy designing each room. A few suggestion, allow throw pillows to be added, make things less expensive since I have spent lots of money on this game, allow us to sell our furniture back at a reduced price, and make it that the game algorithm has a say in the voting. The last one especially since like I mentioned, I’ve spent a lot of money on this game to make sure each room follows the design requests but then I get a low score and someone who puts mismatched outdoor furniture in a modern house gets a 5.0. Love the game though

by BrandiPif on 2019/04/17 23:54
I know there’s an exception for varying tastes, but there needs to be a different system. Some of the winning rooms are terrible, especially in comparison to others or the less than 4 star room I did. This is discouraging and frustrating. Overall, the game is fun, just wish they’d change the way voting is done!! AND make the diamonds easier to come by or the products cheaper!

Being A Partner with Tapjoy is a Very Very Bad Idea
by Jinx59204 on 2019/04/17 21:17
Since Design Home’s latest update, Tapjoy has stopped rewarding the diamonds that I have won. I’m going around in circles with Tapjoy support, even after sending them several screenshots. I’m not receiving any diamonds for the completed surveys and tasks, which leaves me with the option to spend real $$ on diamond packages (NOT!!). So my rooms are definitely going to look empty with artwork, floor plants and table art. DH is getting 2 stars from me due to the frustration I have to deal with Tapjoy.

I think that this game would be better if everything costed a little less, or you got more money per entry and day. Also some people don’t have facebook which means that you can’t log in if you get a new device. Over all though this is a really great app and I recommend it to anyone who loves to design rooms and such.

Heavy-handed In-app Purchase Coercion
by RADycus on 2019/04/17 13:34
Let me preface my criticism by saying I have been playing, and LOVING, this game for over 2 years. Up until about 6 months ago, I would have only rated it 5 stars. However, I have lamented a trend of choices to release “limited” bundles of décor, sometimes as often as biweekly, which are only available for purchase with actual currency. I don’t play this game to spend money. I have spent money before, and would be willing to pay for it to play in the first place, but since it is a competitive game, this technique ensures that only people with cash to spend will have a real chance to get top scores. If you’re going with this model, allow the bundles to be purchased with diamonds, the in-app currency. And allow diamonds to be earned by watching ads! The button to watch an ad is even in the diamond store, but there are never videos available. As long as I’ve been playing, it’s been like that. Otherwise, just make it a paid app and stop with the constant offers only available for purchase with real currency. I don’t have money to constantly throw at this game. If the trend continues, I’ll certainly remove the app and discontinue playing. I’m proud of my 4.56 star average. I play to maintain and improve it, which I will almost certainly be unable to do if the inventories of rich players become flooded with exceptionally stylish items that I have no access to. As it stands, I can only create one design every 2-3 weeks at the rate I earn diamonds without paying for them. Please change your practices! I already miss the gameplay I used to enjoy, and I will miss this app if it isn’t improved. But I don’t have another choice, I cannot compete with money.

Fix the Diamonds!
by 469741 on 2019/04/17 03:40
This game is inherently super fun, especially if you like design! But it’s extremely hard to play *well* if you don’t have money to sink into it. On one hand the developers have made an awesome game and it really seems like they’ve optimized things. On the other hand they’re very stingy with how many diamonds you can earn. You can’t actually “win” without spending money on it... and a lot of it. I would give it a 5 start rating if the diamonds issue was tweaked.
Would be fun IF
by mmking15 on 2019/04/17 02:51
This game would be fun if it saved everything I purchased. For example, I’ll buy a couch with gems or $ and it’ll be missing 2 days later. Having to repurchase something that I already bought is SO annoying and I can’t find anything online that tells me why it does this. Stopped playing the game for a few months to see if it was a bug that they would fix eventually but here I am with the same problem. Hope this isn’t happening to other people because idk how this game could be fun when you have no inventory to choose from because your purchased furnishings keep disappearing.

Great game, but fix the free diamond system
by StellaLunaES on 2019/04/16 22:24
This is legitimately the only game I enjoy as an adult, but the diamond system has no integrity. I got one of those “reach level 2 in this game, and get 7,000 diamonds” offers. I downloaded a really stupid game and played it for like 3 days to reach level 2, and never received my diamonds. Huge loss.
HATTTTE PARTS
by Yasnyl on 2019/04/16 21:56
I have been playing this for a while and my main issues are that there are not enough objects for decoration AND when they release new object for a season, they’re only available for a short time. They need to just release more objects and keep them available. Ugh.
Great game
by DonnaFirsty on 2019/02/11 06:18
This game is a lot of fun! There is room for improvement, of course. Its goal is definitely and obviously to make money for the game developers through In-App Purchases. As a result, you can definitely have more fun playing if you have more money to spend. But unfortunately, twenty bucks worth of diamonds doesn't go as far as you'd think. I think the app developers could make more money if they listened to user feedback, and made this more playable for people who don't have $100 a month to spend. For example, if $20 bought you a lot more, you'd make it up in volume. If you got 20 instead of 5, and could trade with others, more people would play. If you had unlimited borrowing, instead of just once every four days, more people would play... and if you could borrow accessories it would be even more fun. If you could buy accessories with cash instead of only with diamonds, more people would play. The reason people submit designs that don't follow the challenge's criteria is because they can't afford to buy diamonds. Also, a way to immediately return something you bought by accident would be helpful. I'd personally love to see drapes and throw pillows added to inventory. I really think that DH would make even more money if you could get more for your buck. They would make up in volume anything lost in other ways. Developers should think outside the box on this one! The game feels discouraging when it gets too expensive to play.
Designing
by robinpack220 on 2018/07/27 17:47
This is a very fun way to keep current in home design. The inventory’s on trend and bonus points for the catalogue of info on each piece in the event you might like to purchase an item for your own real house. I happened onto this game and took off with it kind of learning the rules, strategy of play, etc as I go. I have been playing almost a year now and spent $200 on my debit card to buy inventory. I have only received 3 scores of 5 in all my designs entered which seems extremely unfair as when I view the 5 star design winners they are no where as near as nice as my own entry. It seems to me like the voting system is off kilter, why not let real true experienced designers make the decision on final score. That seems more like it, and would probably be helpful in keeping the character of the design patterns fresh, rather than stagnating into only a certain look getting showcased into the 5 category. One last comment, the winning designs do not seem to take into account the preview info given about the home owners goals. Often times the 5 star designs do not pay any attention to the criteria of gender of the intended occupant or style desired by owners. Therefore, a pink frilly room is able to achieve a score of 5 even though the monologue calla for designing a room for a boy occupant. How does that work when the rest of us are taking in the desired effect of each room asked for in the description? Otherwise, love, love, love this addicting app.
This game has issues that must be resolved!
by kelly407 on 2018/04/03 19:05
I've been playing this game for 3 months now and enjoy it a lot. It's fun to take a break and mess around designing a room, and I enjoy seeing what others have done to design the same room. However, I've suspected on numerous occasions that some of my items are gone before I've used them up, but then decided I just had a bad memory... now I am SURE of it! When I went to use chairs that I won recently there was only one in my inventory! I went through my past completed designs and sure enough, I had never used those chairs! Same with a table I had purchased and who knows how many other items...Buying items is expensive and winning them is challenging! (The game should be WAY less stingy with diamonds! 500 hundred a day should be 1000 and winning a mere 125 for a five star design is ridiculous! That should be 1000 as well, especially considering one halfway decent plant or picture sets you back 1000 diamonds! There should also be some diamonds awarded for four star entries, with five stars winning more.) With inventory being so precious I'd like to be able to use the full five I have bought or won and not have the game lose them, or whatever is happening to my inventory. DO NOT SPEND ACTUAL MONEY ON THIS GAME! Also, don't waste your time trying to "complete offers" to earn extra diamonds. You will almost never actually get any diamonds. It is a waste of time. Play the game but use your daily rewards only.
Great Game but Could Use Some Tweaks

I really do love this game and greatly enjoy designing the different rooms using different styles. There is room for improvement. For example, I wait in anticipation for my designer score on a particular room that I was extremely pleased in how it turned out, only to receive a lower score while a room that was designed in all white, all black, a combination of the two or one that didn’t even follow the style description wins “Top Score”. I’ve voted for some pretty amazing designs during judging that I’m sure also scored lower than the so called “Top Designs” that use little imagination by going monochromatic or use whatever style the player wishes rather than follow the style description given. It’s kind of demotivating to say the least. I feel as if 90% of the players have a thing against using actual color in a design. It would be helpful if the developers left in the description on the voting screens to remind the judging public of what style was supposed to be depicted. Also, items are priced way too high for only getting 5 uses from them before having to repurchase them. And last but not least, there is a greatly insufficient diversity in artwork and decorative items to go with the varied style choices. If you can ignore the “color blind” attitudes of the voting public and not get too upset when your design doesn’t do as well as the same boring all black, white or gray right rooms, then you’ll enjoy this game.
Great game with some flaws.
by Meow Meow Designa on 2018/03/28 03:30
I admit. I’m obsessed with this game. However, there are a couple of things I take issue with. First of all, SO many people don’t follow the design rules and they get ridiculously high scores. This seems to be a frequent complaint and I’m surprised the designers haven’t done anything about it yet. Honestly, I don’t care how beautiful your room is, I won’t vote for it if you have beach furniture in a challenge that calls for traditional. I’d rather vote for a less aesthetically pleasing room if I see the person really tried to follow the rules. There should have a description for each aesthetic (and possibly a visual representation) because people obviously have no clue how to design appropriately. And it’s pretty obvious that people who vote for these rooms don’t either. Also, we don’t ‘buy’ the items, we ‘rent’ them. A little pet peeve of mine. This should be changed in the app. And give us more than 5 uses! There also needs to be a category for “mid-century furniture.” One more thing... the prizes are often redundant. I’ve gotten 6 different grey chairs in the past couple of weeks. There really needs to be more variety in the prizes. What’s the point of designing a room if I’m getting another grey chair? In fact, I just passed on a challenge because once again the prize is... you guessed it: a another grey chair. There needs to be a better mix of furniture too. I have a bazillion cabinets. Give me a dang rug! P.S. I really do love your game.
Fun to play but....
by Nelliepea on 2018/08/31 15:08
I’m often disappointed by the rating portion of the game. Having had years of study in design (mostly interior) I am very surprised that some of my best designs (in the game), which I used “in app purchases” to create the best most correct space (according to the description challenge provided), with what is available to us in the game, are always rated EXTRA low. I wouldn’t complain (after all it is a game and does not reflect my actual talent or skill level in the industry) but what really bothers me is that when you see the “top designs” many of them are esthetically unpleasing and considers no color flow, organization, rarely any attention on focal points or motif .... not only by my own standards and opinions but when I show them to my friends or peers they agrees. I wonder sometimes how the game is actually set up. I understand the game is not full of designers and people who know what they are looking at nor is it designed specially for designers to play, I just find it extremely annoying. I wish they could come up with a more accurate rating system. Over all it’s a relaxing and a some what addicting game that I will continue to play.... but will not purchase “diamonds” anymore as it seems to not matter if I spend money on improving my designs. A shame, because it’s so fun putting the rooms together and I would spend a lot of money playing if it seemed to make a difference for my “over all rating”. Oh well.
Love game, would love it more if some things were changed
by wolffem on 2018/03/05 22:02
I have a, for the most part, great time playing this game. I love interior design and I feel it is a creative outlet. But, I feel some things should be changed in order for me to enjoy it more. Because things are so expensive I find myself not playing it for a while because my rooms can't look the way I'd like them to. I understand having to repurchase items, because some items I wouldn't want to have in my inventory forever, and the game has to make it so that people have to spend money. But, I feel if you win a prize you should be able to purchase it at a reduced price, that isn't diamonds. If you didn't win the prize it should remain the same price. I need diamonds to buy art and plants over and over again, because they really make the room. And I can't afford to spend the amount of money I'd like to on furniture because not only can I not afford to buy diamonds, and they took the earn free diamonds option off, when you buy them they don't give you a very large amount so it really doesn't last long. I also feel the score after voting should round up if you get a score of 3.7 or higher because there have been so many times I've gotten a score of 3.99 and not gotten the prize which is so annoying. But overall, love the concept of the game. Just wish it could be a little more fun by letting me create the kinds of rooms I'd like to create.
Great Game, Needs Some Improvements
by Rachie773 on 2018/01/17 13:17
I really do love this game! I enjoy doing the designs, and I’m always eagerly waiting my score for each design. I do however agree with many people’s responses around the expense required to buy accessories and wall art. I wish that if I bought an item, it was always my item and I didn’t have to continue repurchasing. My husband actually chastised me for the vast amount of money I have spent on this game. I also agree that the voting does not always seem accurate and that the criteria is not listed when someone is voting so the design may not reflect the desire of the customer and instead it’s just based on what the designer wants to design. I have changed the way I play because I recognize that I will not be judged on the client criteria, but on the general appeal. As I am voting, it seems that the two designs I am choosing between are very similar in style/quality/score. Therefore, the great designs are put together, and the designs that aren’t as good are put together. That would mean that some designs that should probably receive five stars do not because they were put up against others who are also very good. Finally, I really wish there was a way to earn more diamonds. It would be great if after you have achieved 75 keys, you could keep voting in order to receive diamonds. Great way to inspire people to vote and incentivize those of us who would like to earn diamonds more quickly.
Love the game!
by Jacey Laine on 2018/02/06 21:54
First off I love the app! I've been playing for months and haven't lost interest, that being said there's a few things I wish were different; first off I wish it was easier to earn cash I've put some of my own real money into the game and it's gone so quick but takes so long to add back up, second thing i think it'd be so fun to have mirrors available for wall decor the pictures and stuff sometimes just look weird but going without the decor looks weird too! Third thing is that I tend to find a few things frustrating the first being with the new update it takes HOURS to get your voting results, the second being the prizes often are things you can't use for a long period of time-I love the sectionals but they're not required often! The last thing is more of a personal preference more than anything I love when there are outdoor spaces to do I wish they were more frequent! I also really think it would be fun if you could choose more than just furniture in the rooms maybe do a series where you're in control of the paint and flooring too! in all I love the game and don't see myself quitting it anytime soon! This is an edit and I’d love the suggest the idea of being able SELL our unwanted stuff back! I have dozens of chairs i hate and won as prizes but I’ll never use i think it would be great to sell them or trade them in for something else and have to pay the difference kind of thing!
Good game!
by Neenie43 on 2018/01/27 21:20
While I thoroughly enjoy this design game, I agree with the one persons review. It’s very hard to earn diamonds for the wall art and plants, decor, etc. I have spent a great deal of money on this game and would prefer if you upped the daily reward to 1000 instead of the 500 or allow us to keep the items for longer instead of just the amount of 5 per item. I realize that you need to spend money in order for the game to continue, but believe more people would be able to create more appeal of the rooms if they had a little more leeway. Also agree that the judging of the designs are not accurate. I also have had to adjust to the way I decorate because some people don’t even read the description of the room and what the design calls for, IE. a rustic dining room or an industrial living room. People just design it how they want and pay zero attention to what the room calls for and then get judged on the appeal of the room, instead of what you’re supposed to design. My score has suffered because of this and it’s really not fair. Not to be a whiner, but I’ve seen people get a higher score than I do, with just throwing a room together with items that don’t even match what the design calls for. If you say to design a kids room per say, then the items should be kid decor. I shouldn’t have to change the way I design for a better score and not follow any of the directions. Does they make sense to anyone?
Pros and Cons
by lalalafun!! on 2018/10/04 21:32
First for the Pros. The game is fun, relaxing and allows you to express your creativity through home design. If you have friends that also play you can connect via Facebook and share inventory. Definite Pro. It’s also nice to see how your friends interpret the same room. Now for the Cons. At the top of the list is any interaction with Tapjoy. In order to obtain any wall decor, table art, or floor decor you have to earn or buy (with real money) diamonds. Some furniture also costs diamonds. They are hard to earn. Each day you earn 500 diamonds but most items are 700 diamonds plus. Most rooms need 6-7 items that are purchased with diamonds. In other words to play and completely outfit a room 500 diamonds a day doesn’t cut it. So you have to watch videos or take advantage of offers posted by Tapjoy. Most of these are scams. BEWARE! They just want you to spend real money. It is difficult to play without spending money. Diamonds should be more easily earned. You have to earn 5 stars on a design to earn 250 diamonds. This is a rare occasion. In order to earn 5 stars other players vote randomly on your designs. Sometimes they get it right and sometimes they don’t. Conclusion, the game can be frustrating since you are constantly trying to get diamonds to play and they don’t provide enough ways to get them without paying real money. Play at your own risk, I do cause I like to decorate. I wish there was another app like this. I would switch in a minute.
Enough with the B&W rooms!
by Roslin2018 on 2018/05/07 19:03
I just started playing the game and thoroughly enjoy it... except for the propensity of fellow players to vote for rooms designed in black and white or shades of gray no matter what the client brief identifies. Today’s case in point, a living room in Oahu that was to be designed “cozy, tropical, with playful decor” had three top designs in full on b&w totally lacking any connection to the tropical scenario. It’s one thing to design a room that doesn’t meet the specs, but an entirely different issue if other players are voting for them. There is a place for this kind of design (did a couple myself) but not *every* room. Players also seem to ignore the challenge when the room design is meant for a man. Someone else wrote a review and suggested the voting area show the design specs to remind people of the design challenge and I heartily agree. There are some amazingly talented people playing this game - and they use actual colors and take some risks in their designs. It’s a shame that the monochromatic designs are repeatedly rewarded. So... I recommend the game (even though it’s a bit expensive at the start) and encourage you to take the time to vote wisely. The game is quite relaxing and fun if you just enjoy the creative expression of doing the design that makes sense to you, admire the work of others as you vote, and don’t expect to earn rewards unless you go with monochromatic designs for every challenge.
Design addict

I have never been into video games before, and I am completely addicted to this game!!! I cannot stress this enough! I absolutely love it! However, if I am to be completely honest, I agree that earning cash/diamonds is too difficult. If I’m trying to stay within a design requirement and spending $1000+ (on a low end design) but only receive $500 for the design, that seems off. However, I saw someone else suggest earning diamonds for extra voting, which I agree would be an excellent way to incentivize more. Trading unused/unwanted items in would be great! Also once you hit a criteria level (plants, art, table stuff) you should get to use that unlimited, you already earned it. I also read how people don’t use the criteria mentioned in the description and the designs all end up being only neutral colors and monotonous. I suggest being more aggressive with item requirements, such as more color item requirements per design, and mix them up so that people can learn color theory while they play. I am so tired of voting for only black or white furnishings...I want to see more COLOR please!!! One last item...more challenges-more often, with higher rewards, one suggestion would be if a design wins 4.0 or higher and they use an element in their design that uses diamonds, then they earn those diamonds as a reward. But overall, I FREAKING LOVE this game!!! Thank you!!! Bravo!!! Keep tweaking!
Great fun but needs tweaks
by GrubbyGrapes on 2018/03/26 02:19
I’ve been playing this for a while now, and really enjoying it. I have even spent real money and don’t regret it. However, I anticipate that I will soon get tired of it because, even with spending real money, I find myself buying the same inexpensive furniture over and over; so do most players so rooms start looking all the same. It would be better if each challenge was set up more like the real world: a client has a room to be designed in a certain style and has X amount of dollars to spend. That way I could manage that money to purchase furnishings, deciding if I should splurge on an expensive carpet or spread the money out evenly, for example. With a more open-ended choice, the rooms would be far more diverse and interesting, and I doubt I’d ever get bored. Also, then I wouldn’t be left with pieces that aren’t always suitable for the other challenges. Lots of times I see rooms badly styled - like Victorian style furniture placed in a rustic challenge because folks are just trying to use up their stock. I also think the amount of decor could be greatly increased. Perhaps decor could be used as prizes, with a certain number of decor items being required as furniture now is. The rooms desperately need a greater selection of decor and the devs could use this as their money maker. If you decide to give this game a try, I would recommend getting their starter pack.
I'm Addicted
by Sleepy girl B on 2018/01/07 15:44
Love this!!! I downloaded the game when I was working as the GM of a furniture store and have been addicted ever since. It's fun and is a great way to learn about design and color palettes. I agree with the voting inaccuracies and I've noticed there is very little detail to the challenge when you vote. Give me the full story so I can vote fairly! If I haven't designed that room I don't know. It also seems like the best designs are always up against each other and so are the not so good ones. I think that affects the voting as well. I'm not mad about buying diamonds. Congrats on running an effective business. If you don't want to buy them, don't. I've also had no problem with TapJoy. It's just slow and I think you have to link your profile or they can't recognize that the task was completed? Not sure. I just bought 8,000 diamonds after completing a task and then two hours later my 12,000 diamond reward was there. Sorry for the lack of instant gratification here people. Be patient. I'm not going to lower the rating for first world problems like "you made me spend my money" or "I want to keep my furniture in virtual world! 😭". Yes, they want you to spend money. Real money. There are no pop up ads while we design a room for three hours. Be grateful and spend it honey. But can I please keep my accessories??!!!! 🙃
Addictive and beautiful graphics, but...
by Ty&Lo on 2017/10/19 00:07
Started this game about a week ago and was instantly hooked. Beautiful furniture, rooms, and huge inventory to choose from. It's very relaxing to sit down on a break and design a room. However, I too have to echo what has been mentioned before: 1. Many of the "winners" aren't being selected for the actual criteria listed. If I was a customer that wanted a specific style i.e. Rustic and I walk into a completely opposite direction of design like a contemporary style I'd be upset. What's the point of even having a specific challenge when others will just do their own thing. Not very fair to the ones actually designing for the specific style this challenge states. 2. Again, with the challenges not being specific to needs met--I recognize that it is difficult to buy anything the challenge requires if you're only limited to a few hundred diamonds per day, or having to vote so many times to get the allotted amount of keys, and with the daily challenge only $2500. Great idea, don't get me wrong, just a little refining and I'm sure the developer will get it right. 3. More daily challenges?? More challenges throughout the day!! Please. I hate waiting an entire day for votes/voting without working on my own project. Maybe don't wait so many days between designing and voting? I only write this review because this game is fun, addictive, and I really hope they can refine some of these mentioned features.
Purchases not always correct
by Expectant Patient on 2018/01/19 07:58
I love playing this game but I’ve noticed that it’s possible to purchase the same item without knowing it, leaving the player with two of the same item. It also seems that not all items purchased are available for all of the stated number of uses. Further, it’s an unfair advantage to higher score players to have their designs judged against those of lower level players. The availability of higher end wall decor and decorator items increases as the levels are completed creating an advantage for the higher leveled designs. Also, when borrowing from another player, the item should be available as a duplicate if used in the same design. It’s not helpful to be permitted an opportunity to borrow a sofa, for example, in a design that requires two and be unable to use the borrowed item more than once. I’ve also noticed that special design items purchased seem to disappear, regardless of the number of uses remaining available, when the limited use timeframe expires. That’s not fair to the player. If items are purchased they should remain available for use until the designer has exhausted their use. Finally, not all purchased items show as owned in spite of the money being taken from the designer. I agree with the other review... purchased items should remain the property of the designer, rather than limited to a certain number of uses. Seems very one sided...
Good, could be great
by Chiguynextdoor on 2017/10/20 15:47
The actual app is actually fairly entertaining (for those who enjoy design); however, as with most, there is room for improvement. The furniture and other items are really quite expensive, and it’s difficult to create a good design without paying real money for extra “diamonds” — especially if one chooses to enter more than just the daily challenge. There are times I will have to collect the daily reward but skip entering the challenge, so I can save up enough diamonds. They do offer free diamonds through Tapjoy, but more than 1/2 the time, you don’t get the reward for the action. I think my only other issue is that it does seem a little gender biased. All challenges are determined by user ratings, and I’ve noticed there’s a strong preference toward girly/frilly/flowery designs. As a guy, I like more sleek, modern, monotone (or at least black/white/gray) and industrial, and those don’t get more than 4 stars except for a few key exceptions (mainly when the room is very contemporary and requires a modern design — there are often requirements for challenges). I guess since it is an interior design app, it does make sense that the majority of the users would be females, which is disappointingly stereotypical. All in all it’s a fun app. If one doesn’t mind in-app purchases, it’s a great app. I just have a very hard time justifying paying for apps or in-app options.
Wildly Addictive - but Wildly Expensive!
by llcreader on 2018/02/16 08:10
I’ve loved this app since I found it, just a few weeks ago. I’m not a professional designer or anything, but an avid HGTV viewer and I love to learn about interior design. So every challenge has been so much fun! Great concept, but, sadly, I have to say goodbye. Just too expensive to play well, and no fun to play badly! I agree with other comments I’ve seen, that the following improvements would encourage more players, and ultimately, a more successful app: 1. For the love of heaven, when we buy items, why can’t we keep them? Making your users buy the same items over and over again just seems greedy and mean. 2. Isn’t there some way to help or at least encourage voters to stick with the design criteria, rather than just voting for what they like? Maybe a daily reward for designers and voters who stick most closely to the stated criteria. 3. Diamonds need to replenish more quickly if you want people to continue playing every day. Obviously, the reason they don’t replenish is because you want people to buy diamonds. However, unless your demographic is limited to only the wealthy, your player base is going to disintegrate at some point, hopefully before they’re in bankruptcy and/or divorce court. Which brings me back to my decision to delete the app. I will miss it, but the credit card statement I received in the mail today is a powerful motivation. And I’d like to stay married.
Art work
by Dragon City beware on 2017/10/16 00:17
Often the art work makes the room or design come together. It’s frustrating to have such limited choices at first and to see great designs only have beginner choices which doesn’t help those designer compete on a fair basis. Maybe instead of picking furniture items that are the same you base competitions on the level of art someone works with. The game costs too much to play buying the same items over and over. Once something is purchased it should stay in purchased section. Otherwise great game. But I may have to go back to cheaper games even if sudoku gets boring. Puzzles are cheap and if you love color, just about as satisfying. Tired of white, black and grey. What’s with grey anyway? It’s everywhere in real life and so ugly imho. It’s lighter than black and doesn’t show dirt like white and pillows can be changed to revive what has become boring but it’s grey that is boring to start with. Don’t you envy all the Cubans with their colorful uniquely designed 50’s cars. The we went to silver or grey cars you can’t tell from pavement. Come on America. Show some life. Put some big color back out there. My first live in life was color from the Golden Book The Color Kittens. We need more art for our designs and try a picture with some purple or lavender so we can use the couch with lavender pillows more.
Overspending
by LBWS on 2018/10/13 20:58
I agree that this game is great. It is so much fun for all the reasons the other ratings describe. HOWEVER, I have been playing for well over a year and I am ashamed to say that I spend at least $60 per month purchasing inventory. Often, I have no choice; the criteria for decorating the room includes items I simply do not own, so I have to purchase them. This might not be so bad if you truly kept everything you purchased until you used it. But that is not the case; as others have said, inventory often just disappears. I thought at first I was just forgetting things, but then I began keeping copious notes of what I bought, how many I had, and what I used, which proved my suspicions to be true. Now if it were free inventory that was being deleted, It might not be so bad. But when I am paying my own money for these items of inventory and they still disappear, it seems like that could have legal ramifications. If I were not so addicted to this game I would have thrown it away a long time ago. But it is so entertaining that for some reason, I just keep tolerating the abuse. I keep hoping that eventually the “game’s conscience” will stop all of these deceitful practices, but I am still waiting. Like someone else sad, a smart person would just play the game with only the inventory that they win. It is a bad habit of which I need to wean myself.
Creative Game but voting frustrating
by Aoctx on 2018/07/31 14:24
I love the challenges, interior design is a passion of mine. After submitting your room though don’t expect to understand the outcome. In my opinion: 1) voters don’t like color 2) voters don’t like mixing textures, prints no matter how well they work together 3) the black and white rugs, particularly the one with circles receive 5 stars at least 60% of the time 5) it takes diamonds to add the important finishing touches, art, plants, table decor, so if you don’t receive 5 star ratings (which pay 125 ) regularly you’ll have to spend real money to compete. Rarely if ever will a room receive a high score without these. 6) it seems I am voting in the same group of designers every time so the results will be similar most of the time as it’s clear “they” don’t like/understand my style 7) you move up a level each time the value of your designs reaches a million $, and each level offers specific art and accessories which make the room designs stand out from most, it’s all about what you’re willing to spend unless you consistently receive 5 stars for your designs 8) monochromatic groupings with all the accessories are preferred by the voters. You’ll have to decide if you want to create for “them” to receive inventory and maybe diamonds or create per your style, if you choose the latter be prepared to spend real cash to get inventory.
Nice App w/ some needed changes
by Peak player on 2019/04/11 03:23
Really love playing this game. Just a bit of constructive criticism of the “top” designs..., first of all, these designs use repetitive wall art (expensive) and actually not realistic to apply, imho. Secondly the wall, table art and rugs are so important that it makes you want to buy diamonds just to compete which is fair motivation for in app purchases. But I do find it interesting that these over-designed and frankly cluttered spaces are top designs. I rarely vote for them or can’t say I’ve been asked to. As well, the “requirements” and their expense to obtain a design at all, rarely looks better than what I can do with my own inventory! I realize that is the challenge aspect and additionally some of the bigger spenders do merit respect. Looking at the cost to compete where 99$ of diamonds is appealing- it is too much for me to seriously consider- maybe when I’m retired I’ll work it into my plans. In real time, I will say that I have played the app daily and enjoyed playing and shopping and honing my design eyes. I have realized how much I can do with my own furniture. I even think I have been inspired to make beautiful changes to my own home too! Thanks for the entertainment and education. I have always used magazines as my go to or hgtv- this app adds a new dimension in a fun and interactive way. I will likely play it as long as I can. Thank you!
Love the idea, but needs a couple changes
by FishHa01 on 2017/10/13 13:54
The majority of the concepts found in this game are great, the guidelines and styles are varied so you don’t get bored, and the rooms and products are beautiful! That being said, my biggest complaint is how wacky the voting is - designs that win five stars often have NOTHING to do with what the “client” has requested, which in the real design world WOULD NOT WORK. I don’t know if it’s mostly because it takes five votes to get three keys (which I will admit, gets really old after a while) so people just pick one for the keys instead of the design, or if it’s something else, but it can be very frustrating when a design that meets all of the criteria gets a 3.78 and another that is monochromatic and doesn’t reflect the style of the room gets a 5.00. The other biggest issue I have (like many of my other fellow players) is how hard it is to get diamonds, and how overpriced wall art and accessories are. The pieces that often make a design come together should not be harder to purchase than a couch or bed. I really enjoy playing this game, it’s by far the most realistic, beautiful, and thought out design game I’ve seen. However, these two aspects are making it far less enjoyable than it could be, and it’s getting pretty frustrating at this point. I would love to see some other options for earning diamonds and keys, and maybe that will help with the voting as well!
Unfortunately
by cindydavidson on 2018/10/08 14:52
It is difficult for me to write this but others need to know. I have been active with this game since July 2017 and have purchased several diamond packages and furniture bundles. Never having a problem until about 2 weeks ago. I had trouble getting the diamonds and furniture I was purchasing to show up and received pop-up messages that stated there was a problem and to try again. When I tried again I got a pop-up message stating that this was already purchased and will be restored for free. Not sure why they say “restored for free” since I paid for it. When it still didn’t show up I tried again. Still my purchases never showed up. After a bit of back and forth communication I was told I needed to send copies of my receipts. I did so and was messaged that Design Hime recognizes my problem and will credit it to me. Here we are a week later and after several messages, not only have I not received my purchases, Design Home has not responded to me. These purchases add up to $38. This is due to me following the instructions and trying again later. Trying again doubled what I was purchasing and Design Home has been paid twice. I don’t understand why I am not getting a response. I am patient and understanding. I know things go wrong and am not one get upset if I am treated right. Being lied to and ignored for days and days is not acceptable. All I wanted were the items I purchased and was told I would get.
Fun but needs tweaking
by BklynSprngWtr on 2017/12/12 22:38
I’ve been playing for several months now and it’s fun but a few things would make it better. First, allow the ability to check off items and then view checked items when in a room designing. If I have a choice of 60 sofas it gets tedious and annoying to try and recall which ones I liked, scrolling back and forth to try them in the room. There should be a tab where a person can save maybe 5 items at a time. Not permanently but just while in a room designing. Sometimes I get so tired of all the scrolling I give up and just don’t bother. Second, diamonds are earned way too slowly in an obvious attempt to coerce ppl into paying for the specialty decorative items that can only be purchased with diamonds. Without them your rooms don’t look as good as others so you don’t get good ratings and lose competitions. Once again, sometimes I just going the app to get my free daily cash and diamonds and don’t enter any competitions so I can build my money/diamonds and finally be able to afford to create a decent room. Do something about this, why can we convert cash into diamonds but not vice/versa? Also don’t bother ever completing the offers to earn diamonds, there’s only about a 25% chance you’ll get them and no support provided to petition to receive diamonds you may have downloaded apps, taken surveys and watched videos to get. So it’s 3 Stars.
Fun, but really needs development work
by Jess-123454321 on 2018/04/24 16:51
This app is fun and a great way to relax for a few minutes a day. However, there are two features that make me lose interest in it. 1). The voting process. There are so many designs that are really bad - either they don’t match the theme or they contain the bare minimum of objects that don’t even match. Those designs often have 4+ stars. Lately I have observed that about half my designs get less than 4 stars even when they match the theme and there is flow and coherence in the design (this is not a question of taste - it is totally obvious when someone has just thrown things together to get the $$ vs. someone who put in effort even if their design is not “my style.” 2) I don’t spend money on games that collect money for advertising (which this game does; the brands are real and they pay to be featured in the game), so I jumped through a bunch of hoops to “earn” free diamonds and I wasn’t given the reward even though I followed the instructions. Customer service never responded to my inquiry. I think considering the amount of money they receive from advertising they could make it easier to earn money and diamonds in the game. After all, the whole point is that people find items they like and then actually purchase the “real thing” for their own homes. The more you play, the more items you find and the greater the probability of purchasing from the brands that are paying for adverts in.
Beware
by Yuck1!1!222 on 2018/06/07 04:07
I absolutely love this game. It's super fun BUT...There is something off with it! I'm not entirely sure the makers & people who run it are honest. I wasn't receiving my Daily Diamonds & so stupidly I purchased them because basically you can't play the game otherwise. When I learned I should be getting them every day if I collected the daily reward, I complained to customer service & asked to be reimbursed with more diamonds. They told me how to remedy the situation (I couldn't find anything in their Q&A section) but didn't say or do anything about reimbursing me. I contacted them twice more before they finally told me they can't help me & directions to contact iTunes. Sketchy! It also seems like prices are adjusted depending on the daily design challenges making them even more expensive when needed for a challenge. Items also disappear from personal inventory without having used them up. Also, it's way too expensive! There should be more diamonds given every day & items should cost less...It's a total scam! Fun, but a scam! Lastly voting seems really strange sometimes! I realize they say it's not set up to favor anyone or any items & that certain designers aren't given special perks however, I don't know... Something is not right! I just wonder what if anything they aren't being above board about? Someone should report them! My recommendation...Don't use this app! It's addictive & once they reel you in you'll feel scammed!
Predictable
by Ljeffries1211 on 2018/03/12 14:16
I have been playing this game for awhile, and am at level 31. In order to submit designs, you need to accumulate enough keys, but you can only accumulate keys by voting for other designs. This feature is fine, and gives you a chance to view other styles and ideas. Others vote on your designs as well, then your design gets a rating based on other’s votes. This too is a clever idea. However, it is nearly impossible to get a five star rating, unless you do a predictable and boring design. The same type of designs win all the time, with the same furniture. It’s relatively easy to obtain 5 stars if you make the rooms all white or all black with the same boring carpet and wall art used over and over. You can see that all the five star rooms have the same exact color schemes and decorations! BORING! Just copy the five star rooms for your next design, with a monochromatic color scheme, matching tables, and boring white and black carpet! Also, why do you have to “buy” the furniture and decorations? These items should be free, so that everyone has the same access, and it’s a level playing field. Obviously those players that have access to the better merchandise are going to get 5 stars. Despite these annoying elements, I keep playing because the idea is good, and mindless activity is what I need at times.
Losing love
by Lavender Goombs on 2018/02/02 18:59
I started playing this game at the end of the summer, and love the concept and have definitely enjoyed the game (and even got my sister in law to play), but I am quickly losing my love for this game. I used to enter all the challenges, and now I only enter a few, because of the 5 uses rule. It is insanely stingy! Especially since so many challenges require multiple uses of an item (like dining room challenges and some challenges require 4 arm chairs and some require multiple couches). I realize this is an in-app purchase game, and they’re trying to make money, but for the amount you have to spend for these items (particularly the plants, wall and table art which add so much to the look of the room), 5 uses is pretty pitiful and makes me feel like I’m being cheated. If you have to lose items, you should get at least 15-20 uses out of it. And I think you should be able to convert cash to diamonds, even if they put a limit on how much (like you can only convert up to $1000) or something. Especially since you can easily spend that many diamonds on a single item. I would be so happy with this game if they just made some simple adjustments they would make me feel more valued as a player. As it is now, I have already severely lowered the time I spend playing it, and without some changes, I’m sure I will become increasingly frustrated with it.
Unreliable, cumbersome - too bad for otherwise fun game
by Jakm2atx on 2017/09/24 01:38
After playing this game for months - my entire inventory was wiped out with one of their updates! Customer service is nonexistent- no help at all. No solution to this problem - and I see several people having the same problems. They need to fix the bugs and address some of the recurring concerns that make this game too cumbersome to enjoy. All my previous points still apply - but this latest flaw and the lack of support make this a very unreliable game, especially if you spend your own money on the app. Don't make that mistake! Glad I didn't!!!!! This was my initial review: Agree with common suggestions for improvement and hope these will be considered and implemented. Make money and diamonds easier to get, otherwise it's too hard to get pieces needed for specific room requirements. Make sure challenges actually reward you with diamonds when completed. They very often do NOT reward you - very frustrating. Voting is fine - but it's odd to see some of the highlighted winners which are clearly NOT the best designs. Hmm .... Maybe make 4 star winners get prizes and a little money or diamonds. And let us keep our purchased items and prizes longer - - 5 times to use these items isn't enough. And some of the accessories - let us just keep those. All these would make this a 5 star app - I'd play more and be even more addicted! I truly hope someone reads these reviews and implements some of these recurring suggestions!
Don’t pay & don’t read articles for diamonds
by App Affiocando on 2018/04/11 06:55
Your items are time-sensitive as well as use sensitive. Things will disappear before you use them. Also, don’t read articles to earn diamonds. They almost always renege on the diamonds & it is way too hard to complain - I’ve been put into a continuous loop to nowheresville - and let me tell you, those ads around these “articles” are getting the stink eye from me too! Bad advertising to be linked to stiffing people! Given the obvious trust issues these two policies raise, I’d never give actual, real money to anything associated with this app! It’s fun to play but don’t trust it! I delete it periodically too, because well, in my family of apps, he’s the relative that you’re embarrassed by & would count the silver after they visit... Update: staying at 3 stars for lack of response when I bothered to complain. Actually told me step by step how to file a report with Tapjoy, which if they listened to me is part of the problem. You get stuck in an endless loop following those directions. And then here’s the kicker: they’re backlogged 7 days so if you don’t hear back from them in 14 days report back. Because I’m going to diligently waste my time helping you figure out this is a problem. Yeah, play the free parts of the game people but don’t give them any of your money. Knocked down two stars just for that.
Great idea, but...
by shadowkissed11 on 2017/11/04 04:16
Edit from Nov 2017: Tapjoy has to be the most frustrating company that Design Home could have partnered with. Over a month ago I sent in my complaint about diamonds I never received. I waited two weeks with no reply after sending in the information that was requested. Then I contacted Design Home within the app and low and behold it's been another two weeks and still no diamonds and no reply except an automated response. This is frustrating and unfair. I love this game. I play it daily and complete every challenge but it's extremely unfair to not reply to customers when they spend time and effort into playing what could be the best game in the App Store. Old Review from 2016: This game is asking for way too much out of pocket. When it comes down to it, it's not fair to spend $1,500-2,000 per room to meet the requirements when the payout is only $500. It's great to be rewarded 500 gems daily, but in the end I rather get the cash and earn gems by entering challenges. It's also not fair to purchase an item only for it to be taken away once you've used it 5 times. It should be rewarded back once voting is over for each room. If the game didn't make it so difficult to actually enjoy it, I'd be playing it daily by checking it every morning and every night. Hopefully the creators listen to their players and change a few things.
Design home feedback
by smitty3533 on 2017/10/17 23:10
I do like this game, however, the levels are hard to move up in. A million dollars for each level is tough to do and costly. Also you have us up against others who are several levels ahead and can decorate with stuff more appropriate which really isn’t right. You should group by levels since they are so hard to advance in. I would also like to see how many votes we actually got. Honestly, 3.99 makes me wonder how many votes I missed out on to get awarded something at the 4.0?! We spend real money to get diamonds and design a room and get nothing for our effort at all in the end is discouraging. I also notice, and may be a reason for me to move on from this app, the winners are almost always on a black and white color scheme?? They don’t even seem to read what the task is about. They obviously have to put certain requirements in to enter, but, a little kids room should not have big red lips on wall and win. That is my point as stated above.....the animals or space pictures are so out of reach.....kids bedrooms are almost impossible to do. And a teens room with baby blocks on the floor or an abc chalk board win the votes?? I know it’s voted on by people who play, but, there should be a way to change it to reflect the story you put with it. A house for the future and rustic or traditional take the 5.0 isn’t right, in my opinion.
Fun but disappointing
by Flufflybunny530 on 2018/05/03 10:08
As I have played this company’s other game Covet for years, I thought I would really enjoy this game. I did enjoy it, however, it is just WAY TO EXPENSIVE. I can honestly only play it a couple times a week because all the furniture is thousands upon thousands of dollars and I never seem to actually have enough money to make a room look nice or to place all the required furniture. The second issue is the fact that items are limited to a 5 time use. When I found that out, I immediately wanted to delete the game because like seriously c’mon. If I’m already spending over a thousand of my limited game money that I already have, I want to KEEP my item. I thinking the fact that it is limited contributes to the expensive problem. The third issue that I find with the game is that many people seem to not follow the theme of the room. Many times I have entered a rustic, or traditional type of look and the winners are ALWAYS modern and have super clean lines. Honestly, I don’t think that’s fair at all because modern isn’t rustic!! They deserve a penalty or something because they aren’t following the theme yet they are the ones who win. I hope these things are fixed or changed a little because I really enjoy interior designing and I also enjoyed their game Covet...but I’d rather not continue to play it if I literally have to spend real money on it.
Terrible Customer Service!
by KellyMaxey on 2017/11/17 16:02
I’ve contacted customer service several times with questions and never get an answer or even a reply! The worst part is people judging/voting on your work that have no taste or sense of what the requirements were for the project. I’ve done so many 5 star worthy rooms but receive a lower score and then when I see some of the ones that got 5 stars it’s just ridiculous!! Like who are these people voting?! It passes the time when you’re bored but don’t take it seriously or you will get undoubtedly annoyed, especially when you know what you’re doing (I work in Interior Design) but clearly most of the other people don’t!! I wrote my review before I read any of the others....I now see we ALL have the exact same complaints!! This app needs a serious overhaul! UPDATE: It is now over a month since my initial review....I have since lost interest in playing the game at all! My previous complaint about the voting has gotten even worse, it is now a complete joke when I see rooms that have gotten 5 stars that clearly just threw anything in there yet mine followed the requirements and aesthetically is extremely better but I can’t even get to 4 stars to at least collect a prize. I guess all the Candy Crush people found this app and decided to try something new 🙄. I now only design the “daily” just to receive my cash and diamonds for the day, no interest in it anymore otherwise. #toobad
Needs some work
by Princesspeachxoxo on 2018/10/18 02:16
I really like this game, I've been playing since July and have been stuck on it ever since. But they make it WAY too hard on us as the designers to complete a design with how stingy and expensive they are with buying items to use them. They make certain items too expensive, and they also don't reward you enough when you complete and/or win a challenge. I run so short on diamonds and money all of the time. They pretty much want you to pay with your own money to gain more diamonds to play the challenges. The game is really fun but it's also a little stressful, you don't have enough money so you can't really enjoy playing. We already have these type of financial problems in real life as it is, Lol so why can't they make THIS game be where We can escape those problems and just have fun ?! I just wish they were more user friendly and they didn't make it difficult. I've referred this game to many of my friends and they stopped playing BECAUSE they didn't have anymore money to spend and they didn't want to spend their own money to play... it shouldn't be like that. There's a lot of other bugs also in the game they need to fix... sometimes I can't find furniture that I bought before, all of the sudden they disappear??? ... certain things like that.
Love it, but needs some tweaks
by Kellyanna7 on 2017/10/29 18:58
I love playing Design Home. However, they need to make a few changes. Once you have purchased an item, you should be able to use it as many times as you want. Everything is very expensive and it’s otherwise very difficult to build up enough money to buy things that you would actually want to design with. Also, you need to be able to purchase more art items. You have to get to such high levels and then just get a few very specific art pieces added to your collection. Designers have nearly unlimited access to choose art pieces and those are often the focal point of a room. When I have less than 20 things to choose from, it is very difficult to again design a room that you actually want. Also, they need to give more of a prize for getting a five star room. You get 500 diamonds just for signing in each day and you only get 125 forgetting a perfect five star room? Otherwise I do really enjoy this game. It’s amazingly well designed in terms of graphics. There seems to be a bit of a quirk in terms of choosing certain items and the program telling you they are too big for the area, when it is obvious they are not. If the developers make these changes, I think this would be85+ star game! Thank you.
Good game, nearly impossible to earn money
by Dsmincey2016 on 2019/04/09 19:57
I’ll say it again,..I love the way this game is designed, it’s the only design game where you don’t have to play some terrible and impossible matching game to get money and it doesn’t have cheesy graphics, the realism is fantastic. However, this game has a HUGE flaw. I understand that they are showing you real products and that’s great, but the reality is that this is a game, I’m not actually purchasing these items, so I don’t understand why every piece of furniture is so expensive. The monetary reward for each room designed is not nearly great enough. You get $500 for designing a room that you just spent probably $5,000 to design buying items and furniture. You also don’t earn enough diamonds, it’s so hard to actually keep playing this game if you are not willing to spend your actual real life money and to me that’s bs. I should not have to spend my hard earned real life money to play a game on my phone. And not to mention that you don’t get nearly enough diamonds for your purchase, especially when each item is so expensive. I love playing this game, which is the only reason I downloaded it again after initially deleting it due to my above mentioned review. But I don’t finish most rooms because I’m not about to purchase diamonds with my real money. This game designers need to fix that.
Super addictive but could use some updates
by Mommash12 on 2019/02/16 02:14
I love this game and have been playing for about 8 months now. I have spent a good $15-20 a month playing and have won many diamonds via the free offerwall. Some offers are awesome, others I’ve had to submit complaints about in order to get my diamonds. I think the app could be more fun if they take away the super long descriptions for each room—I never read them, only put in the requirements and then put together a room that looks balanced in color that I think looks cool. This has helped me get lots of 5-plus ratings because my rooms always look aesthetically pleasing but don’t necessarily follow the design suggestions. I just quickly noticed that top scoring rooms always are balanced in color and so I play to win rather than creating a room that fits the specified challenge. Other reviewers hate that they followed the challenge descriptions but didn’t win. To each her own! Design bundles are the only things worth purchasing. To get bundles of diamonds I prefer to use the offerwall and buy something useful to get diamonds. I tried out a new home food delivery service for 100K diamonds and that was a win-win. It definitely helps to have more diamonds to increase your chances of winning because you’ll have cuter accessories.
Fun, addictive, weirdly scored
by AG 17 on 2018/08/31 01:22
I agree with the other reviews I’ve seen - this is super fun if you enjoy interior design, the inventory is deep in all categories, and I enjoy the challenges presented and trying to keep within the budget allotted daily and earned per project. You win additional items for your inventory if you score above a 4 on the challenges, which is motivation to play this like a game. If you have any eye for color combinations and patterns beyond black and white, you really have to resign yourself to not getting scores close to or at a 5. If you look at the top scoring rooms for any challenge, 99.5% of them will be totally black and white and/or a monochromatic color scheme. Like someone will throw some beach themed art in a distressed gray frame on the wall of a sleek modern loft if the painting skews blue and the four pieces of furniture and rug they are using are also blue. Often there is little to no consideration for the client described in the highest scoring designs. I consistently score over a 4, but I have only gotten a handful of solid 5 designs. So if you’re cool with that aspect, it’s a really great game. And if you’re looking to really gamify it, just don’t stray from black and white no matter the challenge and you’ll score high every time.
Obsessed when I began, but starting to fade
by Jaysgirl95 on 2017/12/28 07:17
I became addicted to the game immediately. It was meant for someone like me - creative, analytical, and highly competitive. There’s just one problem...I’m so sick of seeing top scoring designs that haven’t followed the design room description. I understand that the population “votes” for the best room, but in the end there should be some sort of penalty assessed when a room doesn’t follow the room description. Example: An Artist’s View was a blank canvas - white walls, floors, etc. and she wanted to add splashes of color. Yet the top 5 designs were nothing but black and white furniture and rugs. Please help me understand how this follows the rules of the game? Regardless of whether the players voted for the designs, there should have been a penalty enforced and those never should have been the top designs. Otherwise, why include the room description at all?? Just leave it out if you won’t make players abide by it. Oh and if you’re reading this, here is the key to becoming a top scoring player: make sure all of your designs are monochromatic (leaning toward black, white, and grey) and buy diamonds everyday so you have tons of artwork and plants. If you become obsessed with the game like I did, I figure it’s a modest $60 per month investment, at a minimum. Luckily I stopped buying after a week when I realized it was pointless.
You will spend a fortune
by @emilyhamlton on 2017/09/18 14:58
While the challenges are a lot of fun and the game is fun, the amount of money you need to spend to fulfill the design challenges is a bit on the ridiculous side. Most of the extras require diamonds and you only earn 500 diamonds a day. If you score a 5.0 on a design you get a bonus of 125 diamonds which is the equivalent of getting a 10 cent bonus when you need to buy a car. A plant is at least 600 diamonds. ALL the extras that you need to score above a 4.0 on a design (pictures, table accessories) require diamonds not cash- and while diamonds can be supplemented for cash items, the reverse is not true. The daily diamond gift should be AT LEAST 1000 diamonds. It still does not give you enough to go on a shopping spree but would allow you to purchase a plant or picture. The items you purchase should be yours to keep (especially for the amount of money they cost) and/or the prize items should be things you actually use on a design. I think the fairest thing would be to have the prizes have a five design limit and then what you purchase is yours to keep. Additionally, you'd think that as the levels increase the items at each level would improve. It'd be great to be able to say "no thanks" to some of the things (multiple pictures of red lips) and trade them for the diamond value instead. People will still spend money on extras but it won't be such an obvious money pit and would be more enjoyable to play.
Definitely needs improvement
by HotBlossoms on 2019/03/26 23:50
The way the game works it’s easy to rack up phantom purchases you didn’t meant to make so be VERY careful scrolling in their store. There is no “are you sure you would like to purchase this item?” You just suddenly have way less funds and if you’re LUCKY you’ll be able to retrace your steps and figure out what crazy thing you “bought”. And they do not respond to their contact forms. So I researched the company online and all I can find are complaints that they rip people off and delete their accounts. They never even reply to their Facebook comments of grown adults with legitimate issues. If I ever hear back from them and get my money refunded for purchases I didn’t intend to make I will change this review. *update: I raised one star to three stars. I had to send them a legit EMAIL but they finally responded to my contact form. The reply was sub par but they replaced my in game $ for the phantom purchases. They said it was a “one-time” refund even though their game play is what needs to be fixed. Must be lucrative. I will change this review again if they take my suggestion to prevent phantom purchases in the next update. I may even delete it instead of updating it, because they’ll never get more than three stars from me until they also reply to their contact forms in a timely manner.
25 diamonds for losing thousands?
by Saint Christy on 2018/10/25 04:25
I really enjoyed this game at the beginning. The problem is the lack of game currency allotted. A pittance is given at the start of the day. Very few are even gifted as the big 5 Star prize. Voting on other players designs is how we get ”keys” that a low us to enter our designs in, and the voting is rarely fair. The designs with the best art win. The art you can buy is only given to you in stages as you move up in the game. 1000s of diamonds apiece for the same boring wall art, plants, and table art we have to used the same art over and over again. You get 5 of each piece for your diamonds, and often have to use three or mors pieces of various art per room. More than 60% of the people use a cheating app with bots; to afford this app, because it is impossible to keep playing, and getting a decent score honestly. The game hasn’t been loading correctly for weeks. I used all my virtual money and diamonds to do several challenges. Because of loading issues, I wasn’t able to finish the designs with matching furniture. Thousands of diamonds, and no help from support, we were sent 25 diamonds to pacify us. There is not one single item in the store that 25 diamonds would touch! Misers of the worst kind! As soon as another game that isn’t covered with adds comes out, I’m gone!
I have such mixed feelings
by BiblegirllovesGod on 2018/08/30 00:04
For starters, I have never had a game longer than 2 weeks on my phone- and I’ve had this one for 6 months. So that’s saying a lot! The reason I have mixed feelings is two fold- diamonds and ratings. 1- you cannot advance your actually gameplay without purchasing diamonds. You do get daily diamonds, but they are not enough to buy art pieces or florals- and those are what will get you the high scores or score high enough to win a prize. You will NOT get a high voted score without those two components. You can gain all the cash you want, but you can’t purchase the things that can get you better ratings. 2- The rating system is very jacked. The only color schemes that are acceptable are all black, all green, or all turquoise. It’s honestly so annoying 😫. What starts out as super fun to come up with designs is quickly destroyed as you realize that unless you select an entire room of green, black, or turquoise decor with alllllll and I mean ALLL of the same art work and plants and table toppers- you will not win a prize. The game has been just who can replicate that and I wish it was about being creative and eclectic. The voting is extremely annoying as well because you just choose between two great or two terrible rooms. That being said- I do love this game and have played it for months!!
Frustrating!!!
by Batalia1 on 2017/11/14 13:51
I have been completely addicted to this game for months to the point where my friends and I laugh and joke about how it might be ruining my life. That part is not why I’m frustrated. Another reviewer discussed in an earlier review that people often don’t follow the style parameters and tend to do better than the person who tries to follow the directions. For instance, the instruction will ask for a futuristic living room, and the room that scores a perfect 5.00 is very contemporary room. But that’s not the most frustrating part of this game. Don’t even get me started on the Tapjoy reward system! There are in-game offers you can complete through a company called Tapjoy, where you pay money for something like, a magazine subscription, and in return, you get diamonds. Diamonds pay for the furniture you use in the game. Because of my addiction to the game, I’ve justified taking advantage of many offers through Tapjoy, and ALMOST EVERY SINGLE TIME, the deal gets botched. Currently, I’ve been waiting for a month for diamonds that they’ve shorted me. This is after 6 frustrating attempts to communicate with them and the Design Home support team, who are equally neglectful. They laaaaaaag on their responses. So, because of this, I’m seriously considering deleting this game. It causes me more anguish than enjoyment. Right, guys, right? I should totally delete this game! Right?
Lots of fun, but in limited doses.
by alicia 0084 on 2017/10/17 17:01
This is one of the best design games I’ve played. It’s very realistic. The items used in the game can actually be bought in real life, which I think is really cool. There’s a daily challenge that rewards $2500, which is usually pretty easy to design for. But many of the other challenges I can’t enter because I don’t have enough money to buy the required items, so I can’t do those challenges. I love playing it but many items and challenges are out of reach. I recommend this game but I’m hoping the developer will make changes to the reward systems for money and diamonds and make them more in line with the actual cost of items and the cost of creating a cohesive design. Also, I wish items that have been rewarded for reaching a higher level, like the plants and artwork etc, didn’t have to be rebought. That should be ones reward for reaching those levels, and with how many are used in each design they should be free to use or 90% cheaper! Overall, it’s fun to play, but to get the full enjoyment of the game would cost hundreds of real dollars and at that price I could have bought one of the real items and be sitting on it right now 😉. Just like real life, fun in the game comes with a big price tag.
From an active player
by MLSTF on 2018/10/22 02:11
I love this app. But of course All games have flaws. Two of my mild complaints follow. First, this is a competition where players design rooms that are judged by other players as a design they “like.” There are suggestions for the type of design each entry should include. Yet there are no points awarded for best meeting that criteria. Or, perhaps raters aren’t paying attention to the design goal. Seems modern black/white schemes generally score highest even though the instructions may say something like “design a traditional room with the earthy colors of fall.” So if I want to be “liked” enough to score well, I just do a black white rom. It works, But gets a little monotonous. Secondly, accessories (like artwork) are generally awarded as bonuses based on the running total a player has “spent” furnishing their rooms. There aren’t enough pieces for someone like me who enters nearly daily. And the pieces one CAN buy are quite limited in number. So players are left designing rooms around the same art pieces many times, limiting the ability to ty new things & taking some fun out of the game. Finally, it would be great if players could add window treatments & buy throw pillows! & even make suggestions on new items or brands that could be carried in the store!

I absolutely love this game!!!
by Jess1992allover on 2019/04/25 07:34
It still blows my mind that the furniture we’re using are from actual designers. Now I can’t help but to recognize some of the furniture I use in the game, on t.v.! I feel like an interior designer in training.

Great game
by CCookM on 2019/04/25 05:26
The game is fun.

Is there any support outside the app? The app will not load past “arranging”. Contacting support is useless since they do not reply.
Was fun
by Jdub456789543 on 2019/04/23 11:08
Was a fun game, now it’s near to impossible to get diamonds without having to purchase or sign up for something.
App does not work
by hidexthexkey on 2019/04/23 06:23
I’ve tried to use this app like six times, each time, I’m not able to load anything to design anything.

What the heck.

Like most most games you start with a tutorial, but this one was annoying. It made you decorate 4+ houses before you could touch a single button that wasn’t in the tutorial. I wanted to check my notifications I wanted to vote I wanted to do anything other then the tutorial but it wouldn’t let me. And the tutorial since I am not on WiFi and never will be because I live in the middle of nowhere moved so slow. I couldn’t skip that part even if I wanted to because it was loading so long. It is a great game overall but don’t get it trust me on that!

I do like the fact that the give you items, once you score a 4 or higher.

by Hey-sis on 2019/04/19 01:10
I really like the concept of the game, but in my opinion, the fact that you can’t EARN a large amount of money makes me not want to play. Yes, i know you can get rewards, buy money, trade diamonds for money, and receive daily prizes but they really aren’t enough to create an entire room.. and the prices of the furniture are pretty pricey!

It’s fun
by Evolleyball1722 on 2019/04/18 23:30
Don’t get me wrong like this is a fun game but if you don’t have money to just spend on a virtual game for money and/or diamonds then it’s not fun.

Great Game but Could Use Some Tweaks
by Xen-quility on 2018/03/14 00:02
I really do love this game and greatly enjoy designing the different rooms using different styles.
