Great game!

I like Polytopia a lot I even bought the zebasi tribe. I play Polytopia a lot on the weekend. I think the luxidor tribe is too expensive because all it gives you is a big walled capital. I know you can store a lot of troops in the city but I still usually don’t run out of space. You should lower it to 0.99$ or 1.99$ besides that it’s really good so keep adding updates.
Game enjoyment
by ChampChris on 2020/02/27 05:51
The game’s fun and all, but a lot of the times it gets repetitive. I feel like the game lacks that spark of me making another game right after one. I don’t much about game developing and certainly isn’t one, but maybe adding neutral tribes in the game can add some variety or a map editor. Just something that can attract players back to play another game that’s all.
The Desert Hunter Has A Message For You...

It’s a great game but it would be cool if there were more unique tribes, thanks

by Thurston359 on 2020/02/24 01:19
Absolutely fantastic game but I do have two features to request, the ability to rewatch a game from beginning to end, this would make comebacks feel so much cooler letting you sit back and watch them happen, the second thing I would like to see is the ability to watch the game through to the end after you are eliminated, sometimes opposing tribes build huge armies and crush you and it would be cool to watch them go head to head. (Also on a side note I just played a round where two tribes refused to fight each other and they curb stomped me and the other AI tribe, I know there is a system where if tribes don't attack one another they will continue doing so, but when after 50 turns they still haven't attacked each other its a little absurd, Im not sure if its a bug or not but please look into it!) other than that incredible game fantastic job!
It was ok
by Frddy78 on 2020/02/23 21:41
Eh, make it more interesting, I'm trying to look for a actual war game, where you collect territory, this came up. And i don't even know where to find one, it gets boring! You cant even upgrade troops or something like that, it’s honestly misleading.
Boring without Money
by Marvel1354 on 2020/02/22 21:50
This is a very Good game but without money you can’t play with any other tribes only a selected Few you guys should add a currency System to unlock All Tribes the Special Tribes Polaris etc can be premium Currency after completed all the missions used to get the currency The Prices are completely to you You don’t have to Add this But I think it will Help the Free to Play Players
Amazing game just got yesterday
by HaxJason on 2020/02/22 21:26
So i just got this game yesterday because i was bored and this game cured it. it is so fun. the only suggestion i would make is to make a tutorial and make it clear and understandable since when i first started i was super confused. but that’s all. the game is a time killer and is rly fun. i can’t stop playing it. :) i recommend this game to everyone :)
Dog crap game

Would be a 5 star but I had the game on android and was super excited to see it on the App Store but there’s no way to transfer the tribes I purchased. There should be some system to have your information for purchase, I already bought all the tribes and frankly won’t do it again.
Fun game but needs to be updated with more content
by Jazz man (: on 2020/02/19 23:37
The game is very addicting, but you need more modes, bigger maps, and new tribes. I have played this game for years, naught all the tribes, and you need new content. Hopefully you can start updating with more content and more often instead of once every 6 monthes.
Amazing but...
by gogogogogogogogoogogog on 2020/02/19 22:15
This game is great, but could you ad a unit that could move 5 other units?also could you make it so the enemy doesn’t get a giant in the first 15 turns?this game is soooooo good you should get it!!!!!
Absolute perfection
by Bowtieprof 1 on 2020/02/18 23:26
This game is extremely fun on its own, with the multiplayer feature making it even better. The in-app purchases are also very well priced, with all of them added together only being $17.
Fun game

Fun game. Add a mode where all 12 tribes can battle
Easier multiplayer mode
by valprada• on 2020/02/17 01:41
Great game, very fun and strategies can be fun everything is great i bought one of the civs they’re fun, but i dont understand very well how to join multiplayer if it could be done a easier set up matchup more for people looking for online 2v2 or 1v1 would be cool
Glitch
by Groovy gang interviews on 2020/02/16 18:30
There’s a really bad glitch in the game that I’ve noticed for the past few days where a bot team will not be near one of my cities and then somehow take it over without attacking me. They just show up on top of my own players and that’s how they get rid of my players without attacking them. I’ve noticed it’s happening more and more to the point where I just watch my cities disappear when the opponent is no where near me. Please fix this glitch.
Bugs in high score
by promyk on 2020/02/16 10:45
My high score when playing Polaris vanishes after I restart the game. Others seem to hold right. Please fix it.
Great Game
by Jose238248 on 2020/02/15 21:08
I have played this game a bunch and I love it. It can be a great pass and play game with your friends or a fun solo game for long car rides. The game is very well developed and I have not run into any glitches so far. I strongly recommend!
Great Game!

Wouldn’t Recommend
by Daemon Divided on 2020/02/15 10:22
So to play against more bot opponents I need to unlock more tribes and the only way to unlock more tribes is to pay money... right. I understand you need to make money but you didnt have to do it this way. Sound effects immediately became annoying, the bots seem to fail to fight each other, and when my kingdom defender is shot by a ship out of view you’d think I’d be given vision of them but no! Wouldn’t recommend this game unless you are craving a 10 minutes fun of a simple cartoony scuffed civ. <3 :) I personally think the bots at least on hard difficulty are given an unfair advantage that for some reason isnt stated when im picking hard mode.
Awesome Game
by Rebel000778 on 2020/02/14 18:00
Maybe add in cities there can be a rebellion I think that would be cool
LOVE IT!
by here for my coins on 2020/02/13 14:44
i love every thing in this game! the music the combat the tribes and how easy the game is to understand! the game is easy to pick up but hard to master! ITS JUST GREAT one complaint tho. all of the other tribes are locked out. maybe have some tribes that you earn by completing challenges like winning the game with all the tasks completed. or some thing. STILL awesome game!

Already bought 3 tribes, and I usually NEVER spend money on mobile games. This game is so underrated it’s illegal. Each tribe has its own playstyle, I personally am a fan of the Kickoo and Oumaji. The game wasn’t too difficult to learn, with the help of a few things from the wiki, I learned it pretty quickly. The graphics are really simple yet well textured. Other turn based strategy games like civilization are just too cluttered and confusing in my opinion. I play this game every time i’m on the bus or when i’m in class bored. it’s chill, and you can take it at your own pace. Reading the negative reviews made me lose brain cells, they all complain about balancing but they just don’t know how to properly play the game. I would, however, REALLY like there to be a multiplayer option where you can queue up with a random person (someone that you don’t need to add as a friend).
Classic 4X In a Bite Sized Package
by eleaze48 on 2020/02/12 08:59
I’ve slain a lot of hours on high end 4X PC games. Polytopia has managed to capture the soul of the great ones and distill it into a tiny package that is perfect for the next world conquering Hannibal who’s on lunch break with only a lowly smart phone. Hail the conquering hero! Hail Polytopia!
A absolutely-great game
by joey00189 on 2020/02/12 04:43
I play for hours and it’s just a great strategic game. I have most of the tribes and I hope they are bigger maps or something else to make it more interesting
Honest review / Hard game with hacks and cheats
by mdehnke on 2020/02/11 08:44
Been playing this game for a decent time, and I'm convinced that people who get 50k plus in perfection are hacking. I can win on crazy difficulty but never 3 stars in perfection or domination. The closest I've gotten to 3 stars is when I wiped all tribes in 25/30 moves and got 93%. It's an okay game similar to Sid meiers civ games, but extremely boring after a while with the only spice up to buy new tribes.
Been playing for years
by So fun poop on 2020/02/11 04:52
I love this game. I’ve got three stars on all tribes because I have an unhealthy obsession. One thing I think would be cool is if you could make alliances with other tribes and actually use their ports or something and they can’t take your village unless you break your alliance? Especially when I play with friends it would be awesome to combine forces.
THE BEST GAME EVER
by hi16500 on 2020/02/09 21:27
I have had his game so far for around two years and al I can say is that it is the best game ever I really think that there still can be improvements like having more special tribes with cooler powers and a even BIGGER map overall it’s the best game ever
Starting off
by Pussheny on 2020/02/08 20:39
So when u first download this game u have four cool tribes to choose from Xin xi Imperus Bardur and Omauji. ( I might of spelled them wrong) Xin Xi starts out with the climbing tech , Imperus starts with organization, Bardur with hunting, and Omauji with riding. I recommend starting with Xin Xi or Omauji because the both are really easy to start off with. I also recommend you get free spirt so you can get the one after it. I have been playing it for a few months now and I love it.🤩🤩🤩

Bundle the DLC
by Aramaren32 on 2020/02/06 06:30
Honestly this game is amazing I find myself playing it very often and I’m thinking about buying some of the other factions. I understand there has to be some monetization as the game has no ads which I am grateful for, I only ask that you bundle some of them together and put them at a discount if they’re bundled. Please, no rush tho great game keep up the good work.
Civilization game for the rest of us.
by timchip98 on 2020/02/06 03:04
It’s like a simple version of civilization, but it doesn’t require as much time and effort to get good, and is much cheaper. I would love to see a random multiplayer feature within the app though, that would be cool, nonetheless, this game is a masterpiece.
Nice game
by pollastres on 2020/02/04 20:28
Nice game but multiplayer doesn’t work. When I search using another player Id it gives me this message like “player not found. Please fix this, this is a good game and I’d like to play with other people on different devices
Some Flaws
by swg90 on 2020/02/04 14:26
Great game, but there are some critical flaws. 1) The prevalence of enemy AI teaming up against you even when you’re not in 1st Place is frustrating. I watch as two different enemy teams are side by side not fighting each other as they march towards fighting me instead. Idle ships not firing at the other team ships around them but will immediately shoot at me when I come in range. 2) there should be an undo button. Accidental moves shouldn’t be penalized.

Screen size very small running in iOS 12!
by Glass wedge on 2020/01/31 21:28
Everything is so small on my iPad Pro in full screen that I no longer want to play. Have bought all addons, am a huge fan of the game. pinch to zoom only makes screen slightly larger. Ability to zoom in close does not work! Really do not want to upgrade to iOS 13 just to make this game work properly Please fix!
Why
by Gwtşltqötdjs on 2020/01/31 16:15
Why in crazy mode the opponents don’t attack each other.I know that’s because crazy mode or something but it is terrible There are two tribe that I am fighting and they are extremely strong and one more thing THEY ARE NOT ATTACKING TO THE OTHER TRIBE how can I stand against them

Love this game but
by ct 5555 on 2020/01/27 18:22
I love this game it’s so fun and unique but I would love it if you could increase the amount of tribes you can have for a game I love playing on crazy mode but I’m always a little annoyed at the fact I can’t have more then 9 tribes and I think it would make it even more fun to have more tribes per match and maybe a bigger map other than that I just love this game
Revolutionary
by Not a bias Reviewer on 2020/01/25 05:09
One of the most simple yet addictive strategy game that brings an RTS yet grand strategy together in a perfect mix. My only suggestion is diplomacy as a research, like if you research philosophy you can ally, declare war, make peace, or sign a nonaggression pact. Other than that, it’s a game I’ll always come back too.
BIGGER MAPS!!!!

Great game (1 nitpick)
by SlimeyFrost on 2020/01/24 21:53
Polytopia is a great game. The characters, gameplay, and overall feel make this game worth 5 stars. The only nitpick I have with the game is this: pay-to-play multiplayer. I believe that you shouldn’t pay at least $1 to play online. Most other games do not do that. The characters are great, and making such a vast assortment of options to choose from makes it worth it to buy the characters. Only having 4 default characters will make someone want more, and the price is the best. Other than the multiplayer aspect, overall 5 star game.
Fun and Addictive
by johnsmom on 2020/01/23 17:33
I blame this game for my F in English. If I had been sleeping instead of playing this I would have a D
Amazing game but room for improvement
by Jake927382827 on 2020/01/22 02:07
So this game is overall amazing. But some of the things I don’t like for example I don’t like that you can only choose between 4 tribes that are free.To fix this you guys should earthier lower the prices of them or you can add new tribes for free or you can make those tribes free.Another thing I don’t like is that you can only play multiplayer if you have one of the tribes that cost money. My last thing is that you guys should add more troops and add more things to the tech tree.Thank you for reading my entire review and I hope you would fix and add these thing somewhere in the future.Again Thank You!
Great game

Play this game more than my PS4
by Alli325 on 2020/01/20 18:20
Firsly: Love, love polytopia. Ive put more hours into this game than any console game, and I keep coming back. One idea: it would be great on the multiplayer if you could adjust the victory settings a little more. Instead of winning at 10,000pts, maybe it could be a setting to increase it. First to 10k? 20k? 70k? 100k?? I like playing multiplayer with my husband and we are always a little sad the game ends so soon.
Great game
by kropie21 on 2020/01/19 18:27
This game is great, but the gradient on the top and bottom of the screen make playing in landscape on the iPhone look terrible (too much of the screen is obscured).
Aquarius version of Moonie
by YUGiOH Pro on 2020/01/19 15:20
First of all great game. I love the special tribes aqaurius and polaris. I recently had an idea though. What if Aquarius had an ability similar to a moonie to turn the area around it into water. That seems interesting because of how polaris turns the entire map into ice. Aquarius could try and turn the entire map into atlantis. Just a thought to balence out these two rivals for the sea/ice
More updates please
by make the game faster on 2020/01/19 01:31
I really love this game and I really want to see it grow. It seems to be the same after a while though. Add more tech branches, new tribes, more enemies, bigger maps, and while it’s all as simple as it it. The same mechanics with more spice to it. This game can really become great if it gets more updates and add-ons. I hope this game adds more while still keeping it like it still is, simple.
Good Game
by Avacado dude on 2020/01/18 15:39
This is an amazing game, the game play and challenge it provides are great ways to pass the time. I only wish that you could unlock more tribes without paying for them, or that you could at least go against those tribes in the game. But it is still a great game and I really enjoy it.
Amazing!
by Jack_Frost4 on 2020/01/17 15:19
I’ve been playing this game since it came out, all the way back when it was called “Super Tribes”. I’ve never lost interest and have purchased every tribe. I’m also in the discord and Sub Reddit. All though this game is amazing, I have some critiques/suggestions. 1. Multiplayer: it needs some work, it doesn’t feel very smooth and the map generation sometimes puts me and my friends in really weird spots. 2 ocean combat is very tedious and I preferred it the way it used to be. 3 maybe with the “construction” tech it would be nice to be able to build out posts or maybe even destroy city’s for like 50 stars. Other than that though. Great game!!!

More content/game modes
by teeloftt on 2020/01/13 17:03
Me and my friends would love to play on the same team against an enemy team. Or human and AI Team 1 vs human AI Team 2. I dont think sharing star income or stuff like that, but it allows you to see their map view and no movement penalties when around each other’s units. Would be cool to see a sudden death match mode where you start off with 3 level 3 cities and 50 stars. I would enjoy being able to select map “types”: costal, lakes, landlocked, islands... things like that. Would be great to build multiple road tiles without having to click multiple times each tile. On that note it would be great if you optimized where the buttons are located for clicking OK and stuff, I play this game with one hand and its ANNOYING to constantly click at the top and at the bottom at the top and at the bottom and at the top and at the bottom.... just sayin Hate to say it, but the game is getting kinda stale otherwise. Great game, one small problem
by Sal37757 on 2020/01/12 05:16
I love this game! I am a fan of strategy games, and have been ever since playing Age of Empires many years ago. This is a great strategy game and I love that it is available on mobile. I like the unique tribes, and have bought a few of them to bring some new content to the game. As a side note, I would love the addition of a map editor and a way to play others online, as I haven’t been able to get my friends into the game. The one problem I am facing currently is that my star progress on tribes isn’t saving for domination mode. I have gotten three stars with the Vengir numerous times, but the next time I open the app they are back to two stars.
Why you make me buy multiplayer

I get you need money to make game but to make somebody pay to play with there friends is messed up
Lots of potential
by callmecarsonyt on 2020/01/11 15:56
This game is already amazing as is, but if only the developers could add a little bit more, buying tribes would be actually worth it. If they could somehow implement a sandbox mode where you could create your own preset tiles to play on so everyone has a guaranteed fair start, or if they could create an online matchmaking service so that you can que into a group of randoms, then Polytopia would instantly become my favorite mobile game.
Wonderful game
by Quintivarium on 2020/01/11 13:54
One of very few games that is not excessively monitized with either intolerable adds, severely limited lives or a need to pay to succeed. The game play is simple, but strategic, and both individual and multiplayer games are fun. I probably wouldn’t play it for hours on end, but it is a nice addition to my very small repertoire of actually enjoyable games.

Add bigger boards and ADD A ZOMBIE CLAN
by Mr.Swanky on 2020/01/09 22:39
This is an amazing game but I wish I could play the game longer and dominate more with a bigger board, also give us something like an apocalyptic like object or just a massive guy when we get to a certain number of stars because every game you get to a point where the stars legit mean nothing because you have so many, I want that to never be the case also you should add like a special giant clan or something where the only guys you can produce are like huge or like a special wizard clan or a ZOMBIE CLAN where you can turn the enemies to your side omg THAT WOULD BE DOPE
Great game
by ndmdjshahshs on 2020/01/09 00:31
I love this game so much! It never fails to disappoint and they have great fan support. Although I feel the game could be so much better if they added new game modes or limited time events to the game. It would add much more variety to the game and make it much more enjoyable. It would also be cool if when you would lay multiplayers you could have teams with you friends. You could do 2v2 with your friends or you and a friend team up against the cpu. Sorry for the long review but I definitely recommend this game and hope the developers keep up the great work!

by Bennerj on 2020/01/08 03:02
This game is phenomenal. Easy to pick up, and yet still fun after 500 games played. Multiplayer is well worth the 1$ if you have friends who play. The only issue I have had is sometimes the servers will not send the game to the opponent and no one will move because on both screens it says it’s the opponents turn.

by kmanzszsz on 2020/01/06 14:53
Awesome game! I bought all the expansions, so keep it coming with more tribes/techs/units to buy! Has so much more potential. Would be great to continue on after perfection mode if you are having an great game going. Thanks!!
I love this game!
by Little listo on 2020/01/06 07:19
I’ve been playing this game for three years now. It’s too much fun. I’m a pro! I bought every tribe. One thing I do recommend is adding more tribes, bigger maps, more things to do. Maybe a story mode. Fix multiplayer
Simple yet hard to master
by The great battle master on 2020/01/06 01:08
This game is one of those gems in the sea of garbage on the App Store it’s simplicity in its truest form yet it’s also unbelievable hard to master. I’m always waiting for this games next update and even after playing hundreds of hours it never gets old and I attribute that to the variety of opponents and difficulty levels. Feeling lazy today? Try easy with two opponents want to pull your hair out? Try crazy with 9 instead. This game has the right balance and for this I will love and play it till it’s taken off the App Store if you don’t have this app and love turn based strategy war games this is for you.
More updates please
by TTV PGFChain on 2020/01/04 17:52
I absolutely love this game but u really need to update it more please me and some friends have already beat the game so many times, we just want some new technology in the tree, for all tribes, just 1-2 more layers other then that I love the game and I’ll keep play just update more please,
Amazing game but
by kookoodanee on 2020/01/04 17:07
Great game amazing to play but you don’t get enough free characters. And multiplayer across devices cost money! I’m sorta mad about the multiplayer thing but otherwise it’s a great game.
Ways to make it better
by luvme_fahme on 2020/01/04 09:30
What I think is that you can make a alliance instead of World domination so you another tribe that are in a alliance and there are no other tribes that you win but when you are in a alliance you can not attack the person who you are in a alliance with. You can upgrade to get better Technology but sometimes problems in your city and you are the one deal with The it and it can affect the way you fight. But in all the game is good
Fantastic Game w/ One Awful Bug
by OldComstox on 2020/01/02 18:39
Awesome, simple little game to play with friends. Played 100+ games in the last year with some of my buddies. The only real problem is that sometimes the game screws up the notification of who’s turn it is and you have to reinstall the game to get on the proper turn. Otherwise awesome.
Entertaining!
by B0sstyc00n on 2020/01/01 19:29
This game is fantastic! The only thing I can say is it needs actual online multiplayer, at least so I can play with friends. If this game allowed a multiplayer option I would give it 5 stars, but for now you can only do pass and play.
Good game, much larger multiplayer maps please
by Hffurgndjf on 2020/01/01 15:55
I am playing this game with a group of three others, and we are enjoying it but finding that the current largest map (324, aka 18x18) is way too small to allow for much tech tree development. Four times the space would be far better. Any chance the available size could be significantly increased?
Love it please also add this feature
by Jerem18h on 2019/12/31 20:13
Love it, addicted to it, bought everything, but I do wish there was a way to set up a ten player match as a spectator. So like you can see the whole match, and you see each bot take his turn. I would love to pit individual bots against each other to see how they would do, a crazy against a bunch of easy's etc.
Wow
by lilbillbooth on 2019/12/31 18:25
I love this game. I hardly ever say that about a game but this game is awesome. I wish there was a campaign because then I could play it even more.
Great Game
by nsnsjfjdjsbwnot on 2019/12/30 16:54
A great game that is even better than Risk in my opinion. Would be even better if they had an iMessage extension.
Good game, but Luxidoor too expensive
by Ahehrij on 2019/12/30 16:11
The game is very fun to play and beat my friend in it, however the Luxidoor tribe is way too expensive. I’m not gonna blow off 4 bucks on them. Ridiculous, raising the price once it starts to get interest. Oof
Catapult Spam
by Tiorico19288363929273 on 2019/12/29 10:17
Catapults have a long range and do considerable damage. There is no way to counter them. It especially gets annoying when this unit is spammed.
Never gets old

I’ve had this game for nearly four years since it came out and I still play it. My dad even plays constantly. I’ve never written a review but this is truly my favorite game ever on mobile.
Love the game but small bug fix pls

I have played this game for countless hours. I never get tired of playing it. I recommend the game to all my friends.
Great but could be better
by Smaker27 on 2019/12/25 03:21
Obviously this is the best game to ever exist but it could be better. There is a noticeable presence of bugs so please patch those. Also I know there is a multiplayer system on discord but if it was added to the actual game then it would be easier, convenient, better, and most importantly more users would play multiplayer and get into Polytopia rather than just play for a bit maybe buy a tribe or two and quit or rarely play. I know it’s not easy but I do think it should be a goal to achieve. By adding this it’s a win win situation, I mean I don’t mind having to do it on discord I’m just thinking about the community and game as a whole.

Great game
by JoeJoe 2 on 2018/07/27 18:41
Hello, I like to start just by saying what a great game. This game is packed with hours of fun. I would like to make a recommendation for the third Special Tribe: The Engineers. Like in the Alien movies the engineers should be master creators. I will go over each special tab and then I will recommend some units. The hunting and fishing research tabs should enable the consumption and convert into a little amount of stars instead of xp so that you can create more units. You should be able to now farm these animals or upgrade them like the second special tribe, but no dragons. The riding tab should be a cloning tab so instead of more quality you get more quantity. Though the clone will be weaker and you can’t clone a clone. The engineer tab should give you something cool and the sailing tab enables ports. You should be able to upgrade a battleship to an airship. Everything else is up to the developer(s) for the tabs. Some units I recommend are healer and builder. The healer is obvious, but the builder should be able to construct walls that act like mountains and can construct bridges to go over water. The art for the temples should be exclusive. I know it’s a young idea, but I think it has potential. I understand the dev(s) might not even read this, but personally think something like this would be awesome.
Great game, some room for improvement
by Vdyvdrjbfrugf on 2019/06/16 18:08
Firstly, let me just say that I can’t wait for the PC version of this. You can take my ten dollars for that. Anyways, back to the mobile version. It’s really good, but as of now, there is a lot that could be added since really the only way to win is to take over everything and that gets repetitive after a while. A diplomacy system of some sort would really help in that arena. Second, I keep getting the Luxidoor in my game even though I haven’t bought them. Another thing I don’t like (I don’t know if this is a bug or not) is that you can upgrade a city, choose to get a giant, and if your city is being invaded it will simply push the invading unit out of the way. It’s very annoying when the AI does this constantly. Also, I think it would provide more variety for those who don’t want to buy tribes if you included Kickoo in the free tribes, because it starts at the base level of the tech tree as well. Now, onto some suggestions. Perhaps a separate branch of the tech tree for diplomacy would definitely provide more depth. Another thing to add could be ‘dissent’ in recently taken over cities. It would impair the production and max troops of that city over time, and eventually lead to rebellion. This would make it harder to win by simply killing everything, because it would make it necessary to secure captured cities before moving on to the next. Finally, it would be nice to have an upgraded version of the Archer, maybe a Crossbowman?
So close to greatness

I’ve been playing Polytopia (supertribes) on and off for a couple of years now, there is just something that keep bringing me back. Every time I play I always dream of crushing my friends in a match to show off my skill, but that fact is I simply can’t do that. Multiplayer in this game is blocked behind a pay wall, yes there is the free “pass and play” but that just slows down the experience and isn’t very enjoyable when your trying to hide your position from your friends. I would love to see multiplayer became a free feature, and I do understand the reason it may be blocked is because you guys are a small company and you need some type of income, but still I feel that doing this would help the community out a lot. Multiplayer in general dealing with any turn based game always takes time. Now I am not sure how the online multiplayer in Polytopia works having never played it, but I feel like there is an easy solution to a more exciting fast paced experience. Adding a timer to every players turn; let’s say 5sec early on and progressively gets longer, would really add fast thinking and excitement to this already intense game. This is just some things I think you guys should improve on, I myself am a design freak and I have many other ideas, but in the end it’s your game and I really want you guys to succeed.
Regions and construction of the map
by BrycesBasement08 on 2019/03/27 02:26
I understand I am probably not gonna be read but I do have a few suggestions that would make the game quite interesting. What I really find fun in these civilization games is the creation of the gameplay itself. So something like team play with bots or online players. Ex: 2 v 2 battles where the teammates will share the same boarder color but have their unique tribal looks and color on buildings and characters. Another thing I suggest is being able to set the map size or the amount of water tiles produced in a game, while this can be randomized I’d think it would be a great add to the game if we could make our own maps and use them for online or bots, you could even put a price figure on that. When I first started playing them game I could barely beat a normal, now I go against 9 crazy’s and beat all of them no problem, so in consideration I hope you guys could make a harder difficulty for the bots maybe giving them a boost to their economy. In all of this I love this game and will continue to play for years on, you guys are doing awesome with your tribes and I am ready and excited to see more updates and changes, hopefully some of them I mentioned. Thank You.
Some Suggestions
by I AM THE ONE!!! on 2019/10/19 00:38
Playing almost everyday including when I travel, flying, driving, even walking whatever I’m doing and I have time to pass this is the game to play, but I have some suggestion to help make it more fun! First, there should be more terrain such as valleys that take up to a max of 4-8 squares and if you level up passed the knowledge of roads you can purchase the knowledge of bridges and they can be upgraded because they can be attacked! To add on, small rivers can also form now and the new bridges can be built over the rivers and can be built on big lager rivers that have a max of only one square. Next, a new unit should be added, and they can be new boats (the tech splits off from the boats tree). The new boats can include ram boats that ram into other boats and units that are in a coast, another boat unit can be like the philosopher they take over an enemy boat by boarding the other boat, but can only take it over if it has less health or even health with each other, and finally the last unit is the ironclad a brute like ship the does a medium amount of damage but has a ton of health maybe 40 or so. Thank you for reading my suggestions and of course keep working on this addicting game!
Overall a great game
by I'm just a reviewer on 2018/05/18 21:54
Polytopia is very innovative, being able to be a civilization game that has a clean user interface (without the over detailed and overwhelming amount of actions that other games sport). It is also very engaging, locking the player into a sense of worry as their empire falls to one city, or a sense of victory as they devastate 2-3 civilizations. The reason I find Polytopia different than other civilization games, is that Polytopia doesn't push in game purchases, every time you quit to the menu or start a new game; this factor alone is extremely strong, since other civilization games make you miserable with the amount they MAKE you pay to continue. Along with this review, I have a few suggestions that I will detail in the next sentence. The world generation of Polytopia isn’t something for me to question, however I think users should be able to set guidelines for their world generations, such as the amount of water or the distance between capital cities. Another suggestion that I have is that it should take units a turn to convert to the enemy; this would allow the player to make a counter-unit to reverse the process ( you might require to raise the health of the converter to 15).
Midjiwan I have ideas
by izjosh on 2018/12/09 18:51
Midjiwan I love this game it’s the best game ever but I have some ideas to make it better for example three new tech branches one a radioactive tech tree it would have chlorine gases in the first in the second masked soldiers and in the last ( I know this sounds crazy) nukes I don’t want this game to be complicated so to keep it simple launching a nuke you need a place to launch it and that would cost stars and to launch it would cost stars too but a lot and you could only launch a nuke 1 every 2 turns the second tech tree would be airborne there would be a makeshift plane a better plane and then the best plan. And also maybe add a communication branch in this branch there would be letters radios and more and maybe a troop that sends messages that can boost other troops. And there would also be new tribes three for each tech like one that starts off with masked soldiers and no other one with airborne planes ( that aren’t overpowered) and one that starts with communication. I know this seems a lot but I think it would make the game better and more action packed but simple too that’s why I love your game and please if you are reading this please try and do this
Easily a five if...
by GoMadMama on 2017/12/13 15:07
The game has a lot of great things I've been playing for a long time off and on I'll download it play it for a while delete and download it again. Polytopia really hits the spot in a lot of ways as the only consistent thing game to game is the player and the tribe you choose to play. It has a great level of randomness making the game, to a degree, new each time I really enjoy discovering the maps and the Conquest Mode on Pass and Play is my favorite. You can't ever tackle one round of this game the same way you did the last one. Each map brings new challenges and can force you out of your comfort zone so you never actually get to reach some of your favorite techs or do your favorite strategies. One round you need to rush your opponent while the next you need to be patient and ready to strike. That being said there is a reason I'll delete the game. After a while it gets boring you can buy another tribe to spice it up, which is only $.99, but after a while it just won't be as fun because you've done everything you can do. Sure you can start a new game with a new map and new enemies to conquer but after you've done that a few hundred times it feels like the same thing over and over.
My favorite app in the world!
by celticjenn25 on 2019/03/11 01:13
I am a long time fan of Polytopia and have seen all of its changes and advances, and I have put in more hours than I care to say. Anyone who I have shown it to has instantly lived it and will play whenever we have time. I cannot recommend this game more! It beautiful mixes strategy, skill, and simplicity all in one. Polytopia is also easy to pick up and takes a while to master it, but when you do it only becomes more fun. However there are two simple changes to the game that should be reversed to how they used to be. Firstly you should be able to name the worlds like you used to. It’s can sometimes be trying to scroll though six games before you find the one your looking for. Another more significant change is the addition of more water tiles when the world is generated. Many games are very one sided as other players more often are restricted to small islands until they can research the navigation tech. This can be quite frustrating when you just want a good match. As I already said this is my favorite game in the App Store and I cannot recommend it enough! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
This gaming app is on my top 3 favorites to play!!!
by affrtvb on 2019/09/25 21:35
I am so addicted to this game! I am a huge fan of the civilization games and this is definitely 1 thousand times better then the mobile versions of civilization! I probably even prefer this over the pc version counterparts. There literally is no reason why you shouldn’t get this game it’s free. Although if you wanted to play online you can only match up with other friends and not random people and you’d have to pay for one of the tribes (civilizations basically just in this game they are called tribes) in order to play online with your friends but it isn’t that expensive and they don’t overprice any of them. There are 4 free tribes to choose from and most of the other ones cost about a dollar and there are 3 special tribes that are 2 dollars. Before you buy a tribe I’d read what each tribe is capable of because every tribe has their own perks and that way you don’t buy one you don’t like. So even tho theirs like 1 or 2 flaws don’t let that stop you from getting this game there is no reason not to especially if you are a fan of the civilization games.
Man why are so many ppl hating on this game?
by JustANormalDude on 2019/05/01 01:12
I was just scrolling through the “Most Critical” comments and dang, there were a lot of them lol. Some were saying the graphics were bad, but they’re not. Just look at the pictures of the game or download it yourself! Other people were saying that the AI cheated, but (no offense) those people probably weren’t the best players. Some were saying how they took away pass and play and domination (which they didn’t) or maybe they put them back in bcuz ima new player. The only thing I agree with (and I’m pretty sure anyone who’s reading this agrees too) is how you have to pay for 8 other tribes, 99 cents each. (which is cheap tho). I mean, after playing all the four default tribes (my favorite being the desert rider guys) it gets kinda boring, even with the random maps. Another thing is that you have to sign in to Game Center to play multiplayer. (Its probably not a problem for other people, but for some reason I’m not allowed to sign in to Game Center cuz of my over protective parents.) Other multiplayer games don’t require it! Take clash of clans for example. And that’s it. Thx for reading, random person! Can’t believe you made it! 😂
Great game with great potential
by Caloak999 on 2017/06/15 22:20
It was honestly a relief to find this game. In my view, this is one of the few actual mobile "games." This is a game because it does not fit into the mold of the majority of mobile games these days. No endless tapping for coins. No energy bars to limit your gameplay. And no repetitive tasks that you are forced to complete. This game is its own adventure. It is a Civilization type game and if you love Civilization, then you will love The Battle for Polytopia because while it is obviously smaller, it has its own unique charm and still holds the core of the game strongly. With varied gameplay and a certain amount of freedom in your choices that makes you feel no match is the same. This game was built with care from the ground up. Now, what might be most impressive of all is despite being such a great and solid game already, it has so much room to grow. From online multiplayer to more technology to even greater freedom in map size and variety. It's a well built game every step of the way and just has more to offer in the future. With very recent and active updates to boot! I love this game.
This game is a MASTERPIECE
by slimeysimon6028363910 on 2017/12/01 20:00
I’ve been playing this game since April of 2017. My friend showed it to me while we were on the bus to a school tournament. I instantly admired the art style; all of its colors and textures. From the startup screen to the actual gameplay. The next thing was everything else about the game. This is a game where you must experiment, and develop strategies, especially when playing with the Crazy AI or a friend. This is what kept me addicted to the game, and what made it fun for me. Even now, 7 1/2 months later, I haven’t grown tired of this game, and if you like unique, fun, difficult strategy games , this game is perfect for you. This game has room for so many new concepts and features that could make it so much better than it already is, like online multiplayer and new unit types, maybe even completely different kinds of tech trees for certain groups of tribes, the list goes on. This game, at this stage, definitely needs to cost more than it currently does, because it would be worth it. I absolutely love this game, I cannot imagine deleting it anytime soon.
AWESOME STRATEGY GAME Could be improved.
by Megacomet on 2019/05/18 18:44
This game is amazing and I’ve been playing for a long time. I like how you can make a strategy game and make the game a little sand-boxy. One thing I’ve noticed as I got a lot better at the game and I started beating 9 crazy A.I. tribes in games, that even in crazy mode the AI is HORRIBLE! They make stupid decisions that make games WAY to easy. Example: I was playing a game with nine tribes, crazy A I and I was not doing very well. I only had like two cities and the aquarion was the most powerful tribe by far. I had been barely defending against the aquarion for the entire game, and the aquarion was starting to finish off the other tribes. After a while, I had only one city left. But after the last tribe left fell to the aquarion, the A I just stared producing mindbenders. That is all they produced and eventually I was able to get a knight out and kill all of them. The A I did not adapt, and just kept spamming. I beat a 10 city tribe with only one city. I’ve also noticed that when the A I produces battleships ( which is rare even if they could totally afford it) they just put the battle ship back on land, a total waste of stars.
Great game but some suggestions
by Funturtleguy123 on 2018/04/26 01:17
This is probably hands down one of the best games I have but I have some suggestions for an update I would like to see. Firstly I think it would be amazing if yon could fix land generation so that you don't spawn on island half the time and have to remake the game again with all your friends. Secondly I think that diplomacy would be the best update ever. There are endless possibilities of the ways of diplomacy and then you make peace with the ai while you could focus your troops on your war with a different ai. Maybe if you had peace you could trade troops for stars or something like that Thirdly this one is small but I think necessary why can't you build docks for five stars instead of ten because there way overpriced and even more if you don't fix my idea for number one. If it cost ten stars it almost takes ten years to save up the stars to get it if you only have two cities on your island and if you do save up all the mainland cities are taken thank you for reading this developers I hope you implement at least one idea but overall it's an amazing game that I play all the time with my friends.
I found the bug
by 420 p in Pepe on 2017/11/11 17:01
On the forums, I read that Midjiwan himself was confused on how people got 100k+ scores. I think I found out how they did that. I have a really old iPhone 4s, so ALL of my games crash from time to time, but once when I was playing Polytopia, it crashed at the end of my turn during perfection mode. When I reloaded the game, it was as if I had clicked next turn (I could move all my guys and I got new stars) but it was still the turn I was in when it crashed. I basically got to do a turn twice in one turn. However, it crashed again at the end of that turn (don't stop yourself from getting this game because mine crashed twice. Really old iPhone 4s remember?) and the cycle repeated. At this point I was getting bored because I had destroyed the opposing tribe, so I spammed next turn until it was over. I think if you could force the game to crash, you could keep doing infinite turns until you have 100k+ points. Overall on the game, it's a great game like nothing I have ever seen and has a lot of potential. I love it a lot.
Great! But needs more
by Anonymous Lewis. ;p on 2018/08/31 10:52
I am giving this a 5 Star review because it is definitely worth the cost and time to play. The controls and gameplay are easy to learn with a little bit of time. A few of the tutorials could be a little better (does the park upgrade only give you score?) This game requires no purchase to play, and is fun and addicting I play online with friends and play 1-2 solo matches every single day. My only suggestion is to add more customization options for single player, including larger maps, customized AI numbers and difficulties. The ability to add 1 computer player at easy and 1 computer player at hard is only available online. So in order to play it I have to end my turn. Back out. Get a notification and come back in. It happens within a few seconds but it doesn’t provide a smooth gameplay. I would also be willing to pay for a campaign of some sort. It could be a different campaign for every race to explain who they are. I’d probably buy them all.

I really enjoy this game, I do hope to see further updates in the future, my cousin and I go back and fourth playing this game, I always have to have all the new tribes and know exactly how to use them, just so I can beat her (we both enjoy and play this game a lot) If I could ask for one thing, I’d ask for the option of even larger maps, so that the games could last longer, have more to explore, more villages under my control, more treasures to find, and more enemies to kill Again I can’t wait for future updates, and future tribes in this game, I remember when I first downloaded it, it was called “tribes of war” and I could never wait to make war with another tribe, domination is the only way I play, this option was much appreciated when it came out, Polytopia is by far one of my favorite games to play while on the go, or even just sitting down, and definitely one of my favorite pass and play games Do still hope for larger maps, other then that 5 of 5 stars from me 👍

This game is great and it’s one of the few games I’d spend money on. I’m not here to complain about the “paywall to get tribes”. I completely understand you guys need to make money to keep the game running, which is why multiplayer is locked until you buy a tribe. But I have a good idea, what if, instead of buying each individual tribe, you could get a like, tribe subscription. This would cost about what, $10-$15 dollars, and it unlikes all existing tribes, and auto unlocks any tribes to be added in the future. The reason I say this is, I (until recently) had every tribe bought, and I had a great time messing with their features and such. When Polaris came out, I was so used to having every tribe, I forgot I needed to pay, and was kinda disappointed when I couldn’t play it. Which is why their needs to be a tribe subscription thingy type. If you don’t like that idea, you could just give like, 1 free trial on each tribe, to test it out before someone decides to buy it.
Best game on the App Store
by Samnucci on 2017/07/06 02:55
I'm writing this review because this is one of the best games I've found on the App Store although it is a small game it is very fun to play and there's a couple things that they could add. They should allow all tribes to be unlock buy paying one price instead of having to pay .99 cents for each tribe except for one that cost 2.99 and another thing they should add is multiplayer so u can play with friends when your not right near them because so far they have just pass and play and each game take hours so it's really hard to give your phone to people for a long time. Another thing is bigger maps and more technology you can unlock with your tribe. So far the tech tree it pretty good but it has potential to be better. They could also add more units and instead you should have to build boats instead of moving a troop on to a port and having more than one troop that can fit on a boat. Overall though this game is super good and has a lot of potential

I’ve been coming back to and following this game for over a year now and love every second I play. The simple yet complex tactics and strategy both challenge the mind and give you a game to relax to, exemplified by the cutesy art form of this wondrous game. This game will always have five stars all the way from me, and I love watching the game improve over time. I’m getting ready to finally shuck our some money on some of the newer tribes in the game because I know it is updated frequently enough and will continue to grow and get better. A simple suggestion for the future development though is the integration of an option to maybe battle against or with your friend or friends online through a multiplayer style gameplay. This is by no means essential, but I’d love to be able to connect with my buddies in other states and relax with a nice game of Polytopia every now and then. I’m giddy for what the future of this game holds, and will continue to follow it all the way!
Excellent for all the reasons I thought it’d underwhelm

So I got this when there was a promo day and it was free - I thought heck I’ve gotten bored with my current games even though I don’t play often. At first I thought the Minecraft-y graphics and limited turn count would leave me wanting in an iOS Civ-type game but they didn’t! I used to own CivRev before it stopped being supported and I could sit, staring at my phone for HOURS playing that (sometimes when I should’ve been more - ahem - productive). The turn limit not only forces shorter games but it also changes strategy greatly since you must economize your actions to achieve the highest score in a rather limited number of turns. Furthermore, the graphics work really well with the simple soundtrack/effects. Lastly, the gameplay is SUPER simple and intuitive so you aren’t bogged down with instructions and can pick it up in the first turn or two. I rarely write reviews but for me, this game totally earned one from me.
Polytopia

This game has really affected me in a good way. Starting in early 2016, i saw this game on the app store's city builder list. I downloaded because i really like the graphic style. At that point, not many people knew about it and i was eager to spread the word. I told all my friends about it and they loved it too. Soon after that i made a move to Chicago. In my confusion, i deleted this app thinking it was another one. I took a break from it for a while. Then, in May 2017 i re-downloaded it. It strives to deliver quality content like any paid game would, although, this game is free. Unlike supercell or some other freemium tycoon, this one man crew delivers a level of excellence that can only be found in a few free games. All paid purchases are optional, and are sheerly for the enjoyment of the user. What's even better is that there s no 'in game currency' that provokes more spending on in app purchases. Everything about this game is perfect, and i look forward to what's next.
Easy Indie Top Seller.

This game is totally wow for mobile. The art style is pleasing to look at and it is neither too dull or too all over the place. Almost everything in this game hits the sweet spot. Every game feels like you have a new chance to try new things. Approach everything differently. It’s urges you to play more as you can face new foes and new tactics. It’s astonishing to see this on mobile. This would easily compete with top selling strategy games like Civilization. The developers are a prime example of perfection when it comes to working. Great concept, great execution. Ads aren’t even seen ever from my experience which is extremely good as ads are just a pain to see as they stick out. But one thing doesn’t exactly seem to be the most appealing to some. Paying for tribes. I know that the developers need to make some sort of money. But it would be respectable to have some open to achievement or some sort. But otherwise no other complaint. Great game. Great work.
Spectacular

This game is truly a mobile masterpiece. The simple graphics are attractive yet clear to read. The gameplay ranges from extremely easy for beginners to difficult for even the most advanced players. The Battle of Polytopia also includes strategy that is so often lost in mobile games. Winning on more difficult settings requires one to out-think their enemy rather than relying on shear force. The random generation of maps and ability to choose one of multiple tribes gives the game a replay value that has kept me playing for over a year. With the addition of multiplayer, the game is just as good, though requiring one to purchase a tribe ($0.99) to access it. However these purchases are fairly priced for the most part and the aspects of the new tribes do not leave you feeling cheated out of your money. I’d list some downsides, but there really aren’t any glaring flaws. A mentioned above, Polytopia is a sincere strategic masterpiece. Highly recommended.
Very Fun!

Great single player or multiplayer game! Turn based, and fun to pass the phone around or to play online with friends. It’s always fun and there’s always new strategies to learn! A few things I would love to see in the future: 1.) No expiration on games played with friends. 24 hours is usually not long enough, especially when playing with friends on different schedules or in different time zones. 2.) Images of maps that have already been played before. It is hard to remember which maps I like to play by just the names. 3.) Different game modes!! Glory is fun, but often the games are very short. I would love a version where points needed to win can be adjusted to the size of the maps. Also glory should end when the points are met OR when all enemies are destroyed. It doesn’t make much sense to continue playing when there are no enemies left. 4.) Even out the spawn points. Sometimes you get stuck on an island with only one or two available villages/cities to capture. It is impossible to beat your opponent(s) because they simply end up making way more stars than you and you cannot progress. 5.) You should be able to ‘poke’ people after a certain amount of hours so that they won’t forget to play you back! Overall a very fun game. There’s always a different map or a different race to play with. Similar strategy to games like command and conquer or uniwar. 10/10 would recommend.
Amazing Game but...
by Deggiedodar on 2018/07/09 16:09
I love this game! It’s a great activity when you are bored with a friend, as I just found out on a road trip. It reminds me of a unique version of risk, but more complicated and simplified in different ways. I love how the AI’s can be both friendly, hostile, or neutral, but I would like the game more if you had more diplomatic options, that might not mean going to war. This could lead to a whole new branch of tech in commerce with the both the players and the AIs. Perhaps, a player could send a message asking for peace or submission, or even notifying the AI of something, but it could be taken so much further then that. Another thing that I would like to be added to the game are nature like obstacles, such as seasons, droughts, or good weather that allows you to prosper. Maybe even waves to sink ships, or a sea monster. This game has been one of my favorites and I cherish it deeply, but I do hope that more is added other than in terms of tribes. Thank you.
Tribes need to be fixed
by ushdyejs on 2019/08/16 12:25
I’ve been playing Polytopia for a while now, and something that’s annoying is the fact that there’s not an even amount of tribes to start off with. All the basic ones, like Kickoo and Luxidoor, should be unlocked when you first get the game. Also Luxidoor needs to be cheaper! It’s the most expensive tribe and it’s not even that good. I’ve played against the A.I when i play, and it’s so upsetting to think that it could’ve been having all the first tribes to start off for 3$. Also have a tutorial set up and have them fight against the A.I’s so they can understand how to play, and this should also be in for when playing with others who have never played this game. A.I’s also need to be nerfed because of how unfair they can be. I’ve spawned so many times surrounded by water and all the tribes can just easily get to me and kill me with no hesitation since they’ll work together! You should also add a team option so people can team with A.I’s and have a new mode to play with. Would’ve given it five stars but these need to be fixed.
Sweet
by Sweaty&Ready on 2019/05/05 03:13
This game has blown my mind. I’m absolutely in love, the way the game works has me addicted. I just wish you could make peaceful relationships with enemies for the time being so you don’t get attacked by three enemies for the entire game while they never fight amongst each other. I have lost many games due to this and that’s about the only thing that makes me furious. Perhaps if the devs could add another research branch that goes into politics and you the higher your research the better friendships and peace you can get from an enemy. I also believe that building roads to enemy cities and having trade with them for stars would be another amazing addition to this game. Trade could probably have another research branch to itself. Just throwing out some ideas that could make this game an absolute blast for myself and perhaps other people that play this game. I appreciate your time for reading this and hope you have a great rest of your day! :)
A nice genuinely free game
by Sonofmrglar on 2019/07/12 19:19
I have played this game for a while now, and I have had so much fun with it! I mean, the base game is free and you don't have to pay for anything other than preference. Plus, a game with no adds, is pretty good, in my opinion. The gameplay is well refined too, allowing different ways to play, and is overall, not overly difficult to understand. When you have had enough from the base four tribes, you can purchase more that change the way to play, there are even ones that have an emphasis on completely new skill branches and play style. If you are in need of a game that is free, has solid replay value, and is a strategy game, try this game out! To add onto this, the developers are adding new features and fixes, even working with charities and a PC version of the game. Well, sorry for not writing enough, but this game should be experienced first-hand. Thanks for reading and play this quality game, please!
Faster multiplayer options
by Mustafa Albahrani on 2019/02/02 20:05
This game is great! Single player is very fun and rewarding, there’s a lot of replay-ability. But me and a my fiend decided to buy an extra character to play multiplayer one day. I sent him a match and expected to be loaded into the world. But I realized pretty quickly that the multiplayer mode is meant to be very slow paced. Me and my friend wanted to play in real-time, although that isn’t possible. I wish that you add the ability for both players to see the world when there playing together like in the single player mode. Or at least give us the ability to lower the turn timer before the game starts to quicken the pace of the game. Overall wonderful experience if your looking to have a slow multiplayer match or just want to play alone. UPDATE: thanks for helping us out! We’re enjoying the game and we came up with a lot of ideas that would be really kewl if implemented: 1. Upgrading units: warriors could turn into swordsman, riders turn to knights ect. 2. Mutator settings: extra stars, start with troops, see the whole map, or upgrade your city. These could be allowed before the start of a match, and your final score won’t be applied to leaderboards. 3. Bridges: for easy movement across single or even multiple spaces. Maybe come built in with roads. I have many more suggestions, but I forgot most of them... I hope you implement some!
Clever, Concise and Addicting
by The Big Nine on 2017/08/17 21:46
This game is possibly the simplest, yet most deftly designed, 4x game I've ever seen. The basic gameplay loop is gratifying and rewards thought applied either to aggression or patience, yet is quick to play and easy to understand. Even the standard game mode is basically a score attack game, though a more traditional "Murder everything" option is available from the get go. My only real complaint is that a couple of things are at first, though most things have helpful tooltips. Asides from that there are no outstanding issues I have yet encountered. Also, no PTW here. The various "Tribes" (think Civs in Civilization) for the most part only are different in the early game, with only a few (soon to be 3) exceptions. And you start out with 5, so plenty of variety is available even if you don't want to spend money! Which you should. But still, there is a choice. You monster.
One of the best game I have ever downloaded
by EpicJax86 on 2018/02/12 01:49
My friends and I play this game literally all the time. It’s definitely is better than so many strategy video and board games. I like the fact that because it’s a video game you can have each different tribe/character start with different skills. I would rate this game 5 stars if the fix a few problems and add another element to customizing the game. Sometimes when we play on my phone and other peoples it will stay in the replaying mode and it won’t ever get out of it so we have to delete the game. Also every once in a while some people won’t get stars for a turn or everything the did the last turn will erase and sometimes won’t get the money back. I would also add a way to choose multiple sizes for the map, maybe have a map size for how many tribes are able to buy. It would also be great if you could use any map size for any amount of people playing, ex: 2 players but the biggest map size.
City Dev. Reccomendation and map Size
by The Grammar Crisis on 2019/02/18 16:12
I was playing just now, as I do a lot and it crossed my mind that I always hated what upgrades the AI choses for their cities I always like to fortify with walls and get an extra resource point per turn with the mini forge/workshop just in case I come under siege by tribes like the oumaji. Which of course they don't do as much as I'd prefer. So, I was wondering if maybe you could add with the construction technology or something, a way to exchange stars for previous upgrade options. Something to that extent anyway. Oh, and an option to increase the map size beyond 18x18 if per say I want a match with 9 AIs, and I want the chance to encounter most of them alive after 10 turns. I understand why you wouldn't, but maybe you could try this out as a "mega mode" or something, like a beta division of this awesome game. I'd pay for it honestly, for maps that could be like- 25x25 to give each tribe a few villages each before the battle starts (hopefully). With that many AIs the battle commences right off the bat in an 18x18. I could understand that this map size request is one you get often, and that it'd both be hard to implement as well as contrary to the concept of it being a game like civilizations that you can play in the span of an hour- but the concepts are solid and I could play this game for WAY more than an hour at a time.

Fun game but has some issues
by Night Wolfx on 2019/11/05 20:53
Races that you can buy for $2 aren’t always even, bots are smart enough to upgrade boats which can win or lose a game and in general are not super smart even on hardest difficulty. I win 4/5 games when playing with many bots. Unit damage, units seem to do less attack at the beginning then more towards the middle/end game, but on top of that there’s no telling how much damage a unit will do in general. Seems some units do more to others etc but no way to tell. Other major thing is some units can move, attack then move again and there is no way of telling when you have lots of units if that one has already attacked or not then you go move some other unit then think they can attack but can’t which ends up messing up your units and turn. Multiplayer shouldn’t need $1 to use and not even have any type of matchmaking instead only having friend codes to play against people, there should be a setting where you can vs anyone at any time thus starting a game and going from there. Maps should have more variety in them and be a little more balanced. There’s a game called Battle For Wesnoth which goes way more in depth fighting than this game that is free on pc and a few bucks on here, this game seems to be inspired by it which is cool! Game is fun but these things in the game make it annoying half the time, not having much of a challenge kinda ruins the game. Maybe I shouldn’t use the same $2 water tribe that keeps demolishing the AI.
Fun and engaging, but not without flaws
by ApolloShinoda on 2018/12/26 03:50
I’ve been playing this game every day for about a year now. I really enjoy it as a daily puzzle (Crazy mode, 9 players). The updates are infrequent but when they come, they’re worthwhile. The latest update (December 2018) finally fixes the iPhone XS Max screen bug, adds a new race, and again tweaks the AI to make them more aggressive and rather difficult (challenging and fun). I’m hopeful that the developer continues to make progress on improving little things, like higher res fonts (contrasted against the background art they are sometimes impossible to read), tapping a given item on the field to see details about that particular unit’s stats, bigger map areas, a campaign mode to link multiple maps (squares), and other fan requests I’ve read that make sense. I’m grateful for this game and it’s amazing ability to distract the mind.
Replays
by Thurston359 on 2020/02/24 01:19
Absolutely fantastic game but I do have two features to request, the ability to rewatch a game from beginning to end, this would make comebacks feel so much cooler letting you sit back and watch them happen, the second thing I would like to see is the ability to watch the game through to the end after you are eliminated, sometimes opposing tribes build huge armies and crush you and it would be cool to watch them go head to head.
Love this game, minor tweaks
by Dylan Amore on 2017/09/25 23:24
One of my favorites right now, and easily the I’m playing the most. I’d say the biggest obvious feature that needs to be added is a multiplayer option among more than once device. While I love the pass and play I’m never always with the people in a game. Even like a local play option would be good just so I wouldn’t have to pass around my phone. The only issue with that would be one player having more unlocked tribes than the other, but you could just make them use the ones they have. Other than that naval units, and maybe a way to balance more time in the beginning stages for advancement, since how in CIV 5 one of the perks I liked is how long I had to develop before attacking. I know this isn’t civ though. Other than that this app is amazing, me and all of my friends love it and play it, keep up the great work.
Insanely fun
by Greg-_ on 2018/11/03 14:41
As with all mobile games, I downloaded this not expecting much, but after playing about 2 matches, I realized how much fun I had playing this. I unfortunately didn’t really like the first game mode all that much, as 30 moves feels so short, but thankfully there’s an endless game mode that will go on for as long as there’s still enemies on the field. But let me tell you. It is so satisfying destroying all of the other tribes after a really long and tense battle. As to be expected with strategy games like this, the AI is really good. Many times I had to retreat to flank them from the rear just because they can mob you so easily (especially on crazy difficulty). One thing that I like is how the AI will actually battle each other instead of just ganging up entirely on you, It can be really entertaining seeing them fight each other (a spectate mode might be kinda cool). And the fact that there’s no ads is a huge plus in my book and I’ll most likely be buying a couple of the other tribes as a result. And also I would really like to see how big these battles can get. Lastly if you’re even slightly interested in this game, then get it. It’s well designed and very easy to enjoy. Within just a couple matches, this game has EASILY placed itself into one of my favorite mobile games. Great work!
❤️Love the game!!❤️ but multiplayer issue?
by AngryPotato666 on 2018/02/21 00:24
Ever since I got the game, it’s been a good time waster and something for me to keep myself working to get better at. Different strategies with different civilizations allowed for a unique game every time. Either rush the enemy or build up an economic powerhouse. I decided to try my luck at multiplayer and saw that I had to purchase a civilization to play. Understandable since the games free. I bought the Vengir (and Aquarian) and started to set up a game. I set up a game with three other bots and went to select my civilization. I tried to pick Vengir and the game didn’t start. It kept me in the civilization selection menu. When I pressed Vengir again it didn’t give me the choice to select them; it said another player has chosen that civilization. This problem persisted with the others I selected. Please help? Other wise VERY good game 💯♨️⚠️
Amazing game with good potential
by Rylor30 on 2017/11/26 21:50
This game is awesome! I adore the graphics/art style, sound track, diverse biomes, tribes, and the local multiplayer capabilities. The one thing I would like to be added is online multiplayer. Due to me having to move away most of my friends are physically distant, we still stay in touch online and I would love to play this great game with them or any other people who want to challenge players online. but I would like if single player/local play were to stay part of the game because some people (me included) like to play video games by there lonesome and that being removed would make this game like most other online strategy games where you always have to compete with other players and that’s not always appealing to people. Other than that Polytopia is an amazing game and I only wish the best for its future.
BEST GAME
by King Omega 54 on 2017/12/09 21:24
BEST GAME ON THE APPSTORE, well, i guess the app vainglory is just a tiny bit funner but this game is amazing!!!!When i got this game at first i was like eh, just another strategy game i guess ill try but it's probably garbage. But this game, is anything BUT garbage. It is so well put together, and is actually fun. I play with my friends ALL THE TIME and we all luv it. This game is so incredible, and i am happy there is a game like this on the appstore. So cool to lead your own tribe and set your own goals, i mean, you can go military like sparta, or academic like athens. There is so much freedom in the game, you can lead your tribe and do whatever you want. Perfect game for a tactical mind and strategic warfare like positioning yer troops and sieging enemy villages. I recommend this game to anyone. Also, please see, maybe make another game mode like have teams and like 3 tribes work together against 3 other tribes
Suggestions
by Hdhdhfhfhcj on 2018/07/06 21:55
I’ve always appreciated these types of games it reminds me of divide and conquer and thats great. The artwork is simple yet appealing and the mechanics are easy to understand. I hope to see this game develop and that you guys are working on it often because i know several people that play this game often, enjoy it, and even support it by purchasing the tribes. Some suggestions i would have to make is to make the explorer mechanic go toward the clouds rather than circle around an already explored area. There’s nothing more frustrating in this game than starting a new game, being able to use the explore option, and gaining absolutely nothing out of it; it would even prove to be a negative effect on the user itself which isnt what the user needs to win and have fun playing. That’s my biggest fix since i’ve encountered it several times, even in a single game. Thank you
Greatest App EVER!!
by Pro-Tab key on 2017/07/12 20:45
If you like battles, strategy and no constraints while you play then look no further than this app. This game allows the player to begin a game where the goal is to take over the world, where your strategy and your spawn are the only things that will determine your success. I have spent many hours playing this game since every game has a random spawn and generation, which allows for endless gameplay. I have never seen any other game like this one since similar games mostly have limitations such as energy bars or time constraints that force players to spend money or wait a long time to play. Not only is this game fun and ever changing, but updates add even more ways to play, changing the gameplay and renewing. I love this app so much and I thank the developers for such a wonderful game.
Work Needed
by Eyeball13 on 2018/11/25 19:26
This is a good game, I have already purchased 3 of the extra tribes to play as. However, there are a couple improvements that are needed to make this game a great game, and keep people’s attention. Firstly, it would be a great improvement if there were more than just two game modes. After a while there is only so much that can happen when playing the same two modes: perfection or domination, repeatedly. Secondly, it would be great to have customizable map sizes for all games. In some multiplayer games, you may choose small, medium, or large size map. This is not the case in single player modes, however. The number of tiles is dependent on the number tribes you play against in single player, but there is a limit to the number of tiles they allow you to have. It would be nice to maps that are customizable and larger. Overall its a fun and addicting game, despite the fact that these improvements need made.
I made an in app purchase and after I redownloaded the app it was gone
by Lionryan45 on 2018/05/06 14:56
So I wanted to be able to play online, and one of the requirements was to log into game center. The problem was that my game center was working and the app just did not detect my Game Center. I already bought the aquarion set for 2 dollars and enabled notifications. The game would pop up my Game Center when I opened the app but it just wouldn’t check off the step to play online with friends. To fix this I decided I would delete and redownload the app. I did this and the Game Center thing wasn’t working(I eventually got it to work) but now my in app purchase is not there and I need that step to play online. I love this game and I am not opposed to spending another dollar on a tribe, but I would be very disappointed if I can not have my tribe that I already spent two dollars on. If anyone that works app support can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.
A True Game

Addendum: Wait, now there are unicorns, too? It keeps getting better. Just get this game. It’s so cleanly balanced, aesthetically satisfying, and plainly enjoyable. This must be one of the best games for iPad bar none. Rather than the usual entertainment scam apps with their freemium junkware model, this is a real game. That is, instead of a dumb tapper which plays you, this is one game which YOU play. Please keep this up! ——- Polytopia is more than a classic Civilization clone. It has its own unique style, and a finessed balance of gameplay. In a year, it has been my most played game. When I find the play getting a bit stale, I simply download a new tribe. These tribes have their unique strengths and weaknesses. Far from mere fluff, they are worth the extra pennies I drop into the game. If you, like me, are sick to the gills of freemium junk, then Polytopia will wet your whistle. There are no tap, tap, tap Pavlovian gimmicks. There are no pointless dollar bill gimmicks. The pointless bling is kept to a minimum. The strategy is maximized. And it plays well in an hour or two. The choices make an impact on the strength of your empire. Unlike most of the insulting pap on the App Store, Polytopia is, simply, a game for people who actually like to use their brains.

Replays
by Thurston359 on 2020/02/24 01:19
Absolutely fantastic game but I do have two features to request, the ability to rewatch a game from beginning to end, this would make comebacks feel so much cooler letting you sit back and watch them happen, the second thing I would like to see is the ability to watch the game through to the end after you are eliminated, sometimes opposing tribes build huge armies and crush you and it would be cool to watch them go head to head.

The in-app purchases are also very well priced, with all of them added together only being $17.

by valprada• on 2020/02/17 01:41
Great game, very fun and strategies can be fun everything is great i bought one of the civs they’re fun, but i dont understand very well how to join multiplayer if it could be done a easier set up matchup more for people looking for online 2v2 or 1v1 would be cool
Glitch
by Groovy gang interviews on 2020/02/16 18:30
There’s a really bad glitch in the game that I’ve noticed for the past few days where a bot team will not be near one of my cities and then somehow take it over without attacking me.
Please fix it.

by Jose238248 on 2020/02/15 21:08
I have played this game a bunch and I love it. It can be a great pass and play game with your friends or a fun solo game for long car rides. The game is very well developed and I have not run into any glitches so far. I strongly recommend!

Accidental moves shouldn’t be penalized.

by Glass wedge on 2020/01/31 21:28
Everything is so small on my iPad Pro in full screen that I no longer want to play. Have bought all addons, am a huge fan of the game. pinch to zoom only makes screen slightly larger. Why

Great Game

Whenever I upgrade a town to get a super unit but there’s no where else for the current unit on the town to go, i won’t get a super unit??

Suggestion and Praise
by Unswaying Pickle on 2018/08/07 20:08
I’ve been coming back to and following this game for over a year now and love every second I play.

Sweet
