Fun but you gotta pay to play
by Dlrsavannah on 2021/03/02 15:51
The game is fun but the farther you level up the more cash your going to have to pony up. I’m not saying it should be free but some of the prices for things are just too much. Dilithium? Your gonna have to buy that if you want to make any significant upgrades otherwise it’ll just drag on and on. Definitely a pay to play game.
Amazzzing game literally (noticed small error)
by AresM94 on 2021/02/17 10:55
I just wanted you guys to know i think this game is addicting and fantastic i noticed a small error so figured id point it out so the two star green rank casing is supposed to be a terran empire faction reward but is found in the hirogen faction center and the three star blue rank polyalloy is in the terran empire faction center where as that was supposed to be in the hirogen faction center just thought id point out them being swapped no disrespect in the least because i absolutely love this game. Live long and prosper
Great IP, bad game, neverending bugs, terrible treatment of player
by Jordan47262785 on 2021/02/16 12:59
I’ve been playing this game for four years. I’ve spent a moderate amount of money on it. This review is based on long experience. This is a classic case of good game idea, great IP for Star Trek fans, and terrible everything else. The game has had the same bugs for years. The UI continues to have the same problems since I started. The company has an adversarial attitude to players, even the players who are giving them money every month. There are a hundred small things they could do in the UI and gameplay to make this so much more player friendly, but they have only done a few of them over a very long period of time. The company continues making terrible mistakes. They recently had a coding error that allowed people to claim a free thing 20 times instead of once. Instead of admitting their mistake and apologizing, they banned the players who did it. Let me say that again. They BANNED players who did what the game freely allowed them to do (even with a button that said Buy again)! For the record, I was not one of the people banned and so I’m not writing this out of personal revenge motivation. I’m simply disgusted with the decision making at this developer. This is only the latest example of terrible game and player engagement management. The developer has admitted that the game’s code base is a disaster and they can’t really fix things because the code was written by an intern years ago. It’s so bad, they can’t fix it. So why are we playing this game? If you haven’t already been sucked in by the promise of what this game could be, then I strongly urge you to stay away. There are a million better games on the App Store, and most of them will bring you far more joy.

This game punishes players for developer coding mistakes
by cpt. Foley on 2021/02/12 21:19
During the recent roll-out of the new “crew retrieval” feature, a daily free retrieval pack was released without a “limit one per day feature” working. For about ten minutes or so, players were able to pull unlimited “constellations” (which they were largely unable to use due to limits on the currency needed). There have been previous incidents of this nature, and the response of the developer was to clawback the mistaken gains (“dilbacle”) or let players keep the goods (the Christmas honor miracle). This time, the developer clawed back the gains, holdings the players had legitimately already, and issued three day bans for those who hit the button too much. This not only ruined an event, but also daily campaigns and dilithium cards. There was no hack invoked here, no illicit bot. Just a developer who can’t take responsibility for their coding error and who hates money, I guess.
Terrible game, waste of time and money
by JethroG on 2021/02/12 19:36
You will regret the time you put into this game, and can’t get anywhere with it without tons of time and in game purchases. Customer bans, for petty stuff, please avoid this game. JMT

Buggy and not player friendly
by sebatyne on 2021/02/12 18:14
Recently joined and there is a new feature which has had tons of bugs and problems. Also they seem to release content mistakenly a lot. I’ve already gotten like 4 “we are sorry” in game mails with compensation of some sorts already. Recently lots of people are getting banned for a feature they rolled out that was broken. It’s all very odd - why would anyone play this game ?
Going downhill
by TekmanRO on 2021/02/12 17:43
Don’t press the Buy button lest you get disciplined! I’ve been playing the game for 2+ years and the quality has been going down consistently. I’d be surprised if this game survives another year, they are now downright attacking their own player base (because of a bug they introduced and didn’t test no less). I’ve only stayed for 2 years for the Discord community but it’s time I cut my losses.
No QC Piss Poor Communication
by Capt Smudge on 2021/02/12 16:41
Programmers screw up. Players benefit from screw up. TP takes everything back so no one profits from screw up. TP then bans those players for 3 days! Do not start this game it is a total rip off.
Disappointed
by BrooksMartyr on 2021/02/12 11:36
I love Star Trek and this game used to be great. But the past year has been a constant downward spiral that has sapped all the fun from the game and made it abundantly clear that TPM only cares about the money and not the players. The latest update, V8.0, is trash. Instead of listening to players and making the game work better or more enjoyable for all players they added the most convoluted new mechanics I’ve seen in a game in ages. Overly complicated with no real reward. And the new feature that they have been hyping up nonstop is usable once a month for nothing more than we had before. Save you time and money (now the only way to really anything out of the game) and spend it on literally anything else. I regret every dollar I have spent on this game and unless there is a radical reversal in how things are done they will lose a lot of their loyal players. TPM is now a contender for the land speed record in alienating their customer base.

There, I said it because even as a lifelong Star Trek enthusiast, this game is dull and pointless.

Management blames players for their coding errors
by Battledance on 2021/02/12 00:17
I have enjoyed this game for 3 years, despite the fact that it is incredibly glitchy & becoming stale. I am an officer in my fleet & rank top 25 or higher on occasion during events. Wicked Realms Games can’t even fix a voyage bug that has been around since voyages started in the game. Every time they push new content out it is buggy. This time they put out a bug new feature that came with a daily free offer with a claim button. Today, after claiming it a pop up came on with a button that that said “Buy Again”. For those of us that “Bought” it again to the extent we were allowed, we were called exploiters & have now been banned. This was a bug in TPs side, they obviously did no QA on this offer before pushing out. We didn’t use macros, emulators or hack their script. But they are blaming us. Shame on you TP. I am asking for a refund from Apple of my recent purchases & I wouldn’t recommend this game to anyone.
Quality on the decline
by glen81549 on 2021/02/11 23:20
Bugs are much more frequent lately, and I’m a long time player. Cannot recommend this game given the state it’s in.
Penalizing players for a bug
by Desmaniac1 on 2021/02/11 22:31
A new version of the game was released today that had a bug in it. This bug allowed players to gather more in-game items than announced. The bug was fixed and anyone who picked up extra items, had the items removed. This is fair. Then the company banned the players for 72 hours who were affected by the bug. Read that again. The company introduced a bug and then banned the players affected. Unprofessional. Completely lacking in customer service skills. Never but from this company again.
game dev/ops are casually cruel
by ma2762 on 2021/02/11 21:34
the pay to play base of the game is predatory of course, but i had kinda gotten used to it and really timelines isn’t as bad as most in that regard. my son and i and a few friends have enjoyed playing, but today really changed my view of the game. there was a glitch and some people benefitted from it and a few hours later, the timelines staff are just removing whole sections of items and currency from their inventories, including stuff we had before the glitch. not a word or anything. so that is a very adversarial relationship between the game and its players. also the “dilithium” in game currency is both overpriced and does not buy much in the game. it would be so easy for folks who like star trek to make a good game for folks who like star trek. such an otherwise enjoyable game, too. takes all the star trek trivia and makes some good light fun out of it. but then there is always some angle. why does it always end up having to be games made by folks who would make a ferengi blush? be better. 🖖🏻
Pay — And Pay, And Pay — To Win
by The Interocitor on 2021/02/08 18:28
With the 8.0.0 update, I’m here to say the following review is truer now than ever, and includes minor updates to recognize prize threshold changes: This game started out as a reasonably pleasant single-player game, with available, if not entirely necessary, in-game purchases. Over time, however, thanks to the brazen and shameless greed of the developers, it has since devolved from having any semblance of a single-player story/adventure into a textbook example of a ‘pay to win’ weekly PVP arena. When these now-weekly events first appeared, it was possible, if played carefully, to finish a given event ranked in the top 1000 [now 1500 - ed.] — the threshold for getting a ‘1 star’ version of the event’s featured 5-star character. Nowadays, as a result of the developers’ aforementioned greed, the events have now been successfully tweaked in such a manner that it is very nearly *impossible* to finish in the top 1000 (1500 now) in a given event without spending a *minimum* of $20-$30. Ergo, as long as you’re OK with spending $20-$30 per week, *every* week, you could have some success in this...er, game. What’s more, they pay lip service to the idea of not playing the game too much — by occasionally popping up messages suggesting a break, but then turn around and devise events in which any modicum of success can *only* be achieved by being glued to one’s device for hours on end. Even the hooligans over at (rhymes with ‘wet garble’) are less greedy. It’s a shame. I used to sort of like this game.

V8 is extremely buggy
by ServiceWatcher on 2021/02/04 16:38
Several in game features you can’t get out of or see properly which forces an app restart for the user to get out of. In the QA world that’s called a blocker and apps should never be released with know blockers. Big fail by the QA and Dev teams.
Best Ever!!

Love this game and the devotion of the developers to making this an excellent experience for Star Trek fans of all ages!
Freeze issue
by Davi1976 on 2021/01/25 02:24
Game wouldn’t let me choose a crew member for battle stations on the first mission (Vulcan). Couldn’t exit out either. Game froze each time. Couldn’t proceed without trying to assign someone to the battle station, so game kept freezing. Uninstalled. Huge disappointment
Just a cash grab
by Smapty555 on 2021/01/24 15:32
Good concept game with great graphics wrapped up in a cash grab. The first two screens you encounter when you open up the game are purchase options which is so 2010. You can only do so much before you have to buy materials to progress in the game. Lame.
Don’t...
by TiredOfThis... on 2021/01/16 07:33
At a certain point, this app just stops working. And good luck, contacting them about support issues. One hoop after another to jump through, sign up for this, or log in to that, just to yell someone this app is not working the way it’s supposed to. Oh yea, active players should be able to build up vip points and/or dilithium without actually spending real $. Don’t download this app. It’s nothing but trouble. REVISED 10/09/19 STILL, There is no way to earn vip points/levels. STILL, the only way to gain ANY vip is to pay real $... And without that ‘vip’, there are things you just can’t do in the game, ever. Guys, ya gotta open up vip to more than just the few people who will buy access to it. You’ve got an awesome app here, that’s lots of fun. I understand you’ve got to make a bit of $ on it, but if you don’t give people options, they split. Give them options, throw in some micro-transactions, but give them a way to earn vip status through playing too. If you continue to try and force them to pay for it, none of them will. OPTIONS... REVISION 1/16/21 Still no way to earn dilithium/ “real $” in game without spending way too much for way too little. Pop-up ads have gotten more frequent, and aggressive. Had one ask for my apple password upon opening the app, for a $99.99 purchase.

Disappointed
by InfiniteGrant on 2021/01/13 21:11
I have played for years at this point. With the recent update that Lowe Decks is not secured with no plans to attempt to bring them into the game. I fear it is time for me to stop. This game focuses on the Prime Timeline characters and with the exclusion of an entire show, the characters can never be complete. For that reason and frustration I can no longer support or play this game. I have changed my rating to 1 star as it is simply not able to be completed.
i’m playing i play lthis game for a long time started to pay for it
by Iron steel horse23 on 2020/12/29 00:55
Once I start to play it I like it but you can’t always have what you want in the game because the in app purchases start to grow on you as well as your credit card and whatever you use for it if you got financial burdens that keep you bond to some thingThen you over your limit like it breaks your credit card bill most most Serious thing I’ve done in my life
Save time, skip download and just send money to company.
by Wayne298 on 2020/12/20 19:50
This preditory app is designed to encourage maximum spending without providing support when the in game items that you purchase are not worth what they are advertised. IMHO, Apple should remove this game until they commit to changing their business model. This is my second and last experience with STT. I downloaded it again and put faith in the company that acquired the app recently. Unfortunately, I received the same lack of support and/or feedback which were auto generated "Sorry/Not Sorry" e-mails. Sad.

Getting to be all about the money
by R.J. F on 2020/11/19 01:20
I’ve played this off and on since it was first released. As time has gone on, it has become more and more about weekend events that are cash cows. If you want to succeed after a certain point, you have to be willing to spend lots of money. It’s not uncommon to see events with “special” in app purchases of $100 or more. At the same time, the overall narrative of the story hasn’t received an update in a year or more, meaning the game has become about little more than these events. It can still be entertaining, but if it wasn’t part of the trek brand, I probably would’ve stopped playing completely at least a couple of years ago.
Don’t waste your time or money
by DOM293124 on 2020/11/16 04:00
The game has a lot of potential, but the creators only seem to be interested in taking your money. Everything you want to do will mean you will have to advance and that will cost money. You would think that as you get up there you’ll start winning some of the tournaments, or at least placing, but it seems the better you get and the higher ranking characters you develop the harder the game gets. It could have been a great game, but turned out to be a sorry scam.
I love Star Trek but this game is boring.
by Buzzy Grumbleton on 2020/11/10 13:01
I wanted to like this game because I love Star Trek, but the gameplay is just tedious and not fun. :(
Very good game
by FlexSealed1711 on 2020/11/09 23:05
This game is a bit of a time commitment every day if you want to do really well, but if you’re willing, it is really fun. Even after completing all the missions, there is still more to do, such as trying to max out every character. And to the people who say it’s pay to win it’s not. It is mostly single player and the arena is probably all bots. It just takes patience to get good enough stuff to complete missions.
Rip off - we need a real Star Trek game!
by UD_007 on 2020/11/09 14:06
Do not spend money on this game. Absolute rip off. It is so boring after a while (success percentages are way off) and no way to get the crew you want without paying. Tired of collecting loads of one time or minor characters (too numerous to level up and play) and not getting the characters you want. Perfect for wallet warriors but the developers are stingy. They often “give away” small amounts of nothing helpful and expect you to be grateful for the crap they are shoveling.
I Like This Game
by Battlestar5 on 2020/11/02 05:36
So, I have been playing as a Free Player for a little over 3 Years & so far I have unlocked some pretty good ships and characters. Its amazing how the developers have conceived the various versions of almost each and every character in the known in the Star Trek Universe including the CBS Timeline Characters and Ships as well so Bravo to the Devs for getting those into the game. In addition yo the Next Gen Characters, I would like to see more of the Next Gen Movie ships like the Akira Class, Saber Class, Steamrunner Class, and the Norway Class Ships. The Oberth Class Starship was quite my favorite in the TV Series plus the Ambassador Class Starship - like the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-C. Skirmish events are my favorite, and the Faction Missions are rewarding as well. The Supply Events are the most challenging since they will send you around the galaxy looking for supplies and that can exhaust some your resources but they are rewarding. Overall, Bravo to the Developers - I Do Like This Game 🙂👍🏻🚀
Love it

I love this game!!!
by Topsy-Turvy Hellfire on 2020/09/19 20:45
This game is fantastic!!! The graphics are great, the gameplay is really fun, and the storyline is interesting! I do wish that the characters from the Star Trek Alternate Original Series would be added in as well since the characters from ST: TOS, ST: TNG, ST: ENT, ST: VOY, ST: DS9, ST: DISC, and ST: PICARD are already in the game, so why not add the characters from AOS, too. UPDATE: It would be awesome if the things (characters & items) in the Faction stores that can be bought with in-game currency could be changed from Dilithium to Chronitons (I desperately want to get Mirror Spock, but I never have enough Dilithium to get him). I would also love to have Platonian Spock in Timelines!!!! We have Platonian Kirk, but not Platonian Spock!

One small step for man
by forced2make nickname on 2020/07/22 09:42
Great game! Until you hit the pay wall. This game is severely “pay to win”. It’s really unfortunate because it starts off strong and attractive; it does this to get you hooked with its glitz and glamor then BANG! it just slams on the brakes and proceeds to move glacially in an attempt to get you to use real money (I wonder how the characters in the Star Trek world would view this Ferengi type behavior?) Despite this, there still exist a truly enjoyable game; but it just drags its feet forcing you to “grind” or pay real cash. Heres the thing; I was even ok with all that grinding. But I had to draw the line when my expedition loot was considered forfeit because I couldn’t pay real money to revive the fictional ship and in the process lost all items it acquired while it was out.
This game play is awesome, advertising not so much...
by wtfallletters on 2020/07/19 23:11
I enjoyed this game, without paying a dime to advance. I distracted myself while videos of unwated “bargains” were paraded on my screen for the meager benefits given. Once i was forced to the app store for these giveaways i became quite wnwary. Now that sending me to the app store as opposed to denying the buy seems excessive. I will be happily deleting something i have enjoyed for some time if this aggressive marketing does not stop. Offer, don’t be a dick.

Frustrated at lack of addressing major bug
by Trenton Albinny on 2020/07/11 15:25
There is a bug that routinely occurs where voyages extended by in-game currency will freeze. As extended voyages is one of the few ways to collect rare characters, this can be quite frustrating. What is more frustrating however is that this has been a known issue (as demonstrated on their support forums and in customer service responses) for over two years! At some point, you must question if they are not addressing the bug because it drives in-game currency sales.
Glitches and restart of the game...?
by Frida Khol on 2020/07/10 13:15
This is an easy game to pass the time. But since about to early part of March the game has been glitching, force closing, freezing, or just not opening. It happens often, more so when there are events. I’ve had this game for almost a year and the issues have really started to pick up lately. Update: I finally got into the game and it has started all the way over at the beginning! There should be the option to login to an account, if not already logged in, at the beginning of the game.

This game is pretty entertaining and overall a good game to play; however I’ve spent 30-40 USD on this game and not gotten what I’ve wanted. I understand that stuff like rewards and chests are random, but I’ve wasted so much money on things that I didn’t even get. Please find a way to solve this. Besides that though, great game, love the diverse amounts of characters. Again just please fix the randomness issue
It’s engaging.
by Sconi22 on 2020/06/04 19:52
I enjoy the game but unless your willing to spend more than a couple hundred dollars don’t expect to be competitive. The opportunities for the best rewards in all aspects of this game are locked by everyone with the disposable income to buy their way to the top.
Good, but....

Maybe you guys should add the Kelvin Timeline (AOS) characters because they’re part of Star Trek too (even though most people don’t really like it), even though J.J. Abrams was the one who directed the Kelvin Timeline movies.
I agree with Be Better.
by Trazdal on 2020/05/20 16:32
I think it would be an improvement to put any and all characters into stasis, not just the level 100 fully merged. Also I’m condemned that when I level my character and level it a few times closely the benefits don’t get recorded properly.

I love Star Trek so much! I grew up on it which is why I want this game to be everything. It has a lot going for it but it is sorely lacking in some areas. First, it seems like the developers do not care about their customers and how much Star Trek means to them. There are some shady things going on. For instance, they have an arbitrary cap of 1,000 unique items and after 7 days if you are over that limit they start deleting your inventory. What they haven’t told anyone is that even if you try and build something to use up the unique inventory there is a bug that won’t use up lower level items. They are shady. The gauntlet is another aspect of shadiness. It is so rigged that even if you should beat the other player you don’t especially if it is the third time when your supposed to get a gift. Second, this is a collecting game even if the developers don’t want to admit it. People are here, collecting the cards and the developers are milking every sucker for all the money in the universe. It’s tempting. We love Star Trek and want the characters. Slow down on the introductions. Third, the ship schematics are useless and are just sitting there taking up space. Plus, they are a common get in packs which is annoying. Figure out additional ways of using them. In summation, I love Star Trek and I like this game. Just fix the issues and make it seem like you care about the fan base and customers.

A lot of great things to say, however in light that it crashes all the time on on both my phone and iPad, both recent tech, I can not recommend it. You put that with in-game purchase prices that are outrageous, it is counterintuitive to Star Trek’s inception. By the way, the crashes happen all the time opening personnel “chests” and that impacts my game play tremendously.
No. Just no.
by fhwoorhasosolakskju on 2020/04/04 21:36
Two stars only because like 99.999 percent of mobile games, this COULD be a great game if it wasn’t just another pay to play/win scam. Like the rest, if you don’t pay absolutely ridiculous sums of money CONSTANTLY then it will take you months to progress even the slightest bit yet your account will still be in-formidable and useless. You will quickly discover this after you waste a few hours of your time playing.

With this review, I am ending my months of playing this game and moving on. I have immortalized a character, and that seems like a good ending point. I am not quitting because the game is too expensive. Despite some criticisms I have heard of this game, I have been able to assemble a set of the highest-level ships and 5* characters without paying anything. This does take patience, but it is eventually possible. The problem is that the end stage of the game gets grindy. There is one type of event involving making the same items over and over, another type for fighting the same 5 ship battles over and over, a third type for running the same few shuttle missions over and over, etc. I have noticed myself repeating actions without even bothering to read text, a sure sign of grinding. I’m not sorry I tried this game, though. There’s plenty of Star Trek content for those who want it, and the graphics are fine for this type of game. There is just a point at which it’s time to try something new.

I m a big fan of Star Trek and this game is just great. I've taken off two stars for two reasons. I'm a beginner and as a beginner the game is daunting with no real explanation of how things are best done. For instance when I get to the start of a ship battle some tips or information comes on the screen but disappears too quickly, so I get the first three words, not very helpful. The other star is because as someone who thinks logically, I know I'm never going to own this game so if I ever spend real money on it, it would have to be for a very good reason and it's not likely, so when I see the characters and boosts available to the players willing to spend it's frustrating. I get it that you have to make money and I'm really glad some people will spend, but it's still frustrating. Because of the fact that I'm a beginner when I entered my first event I was completely under prepared, I still have entered into some of the contests, but good grief I get plastered which is very discouraging. I'm really impressed that these reviews are actually responded to and as a big fan of Star Trek I will keep playing and see where it goes, I also think it should be as enjoyable to a solo player as it can be to a social player- there are plenty of people who like staying solo. Thanks for creating this game and making it available to players like me (with virtually stitched pockets!) :-))
Big on nostalgia, but you better bring your wallet.
by LoganWolfsbane on 2018/06/07 19:55
First of all, this game was obviously made by people who grew up watching TOS, for some, or TNG for others, and maybe even Enterprise for some. It's chock full of the bronze-level-hardness sci-fi and semi-plausible plotlines of the TV serieses. There's a lot to love here, as you procure a Borg scout ship and staff it with, say, Kirk, Data and Florist Q (yes, that is a character you can acquire) and boldly go where thousands have gone before. But what's not to love is the absurdly vast number of characters in the game, with an equally absurdly vast array of possible traits and skills, and how often you will run into an objective on an Away mission that is locked to all 50 of your crewmen, except for that ONE level ten 1-star character that you never bothered to train or equip because, well, they're USELESS, except for that one Away mission that prevents you from getting all three stars. And you're going to keep running into that, again and again and again, unless you pony up large stacks of cash. And you're going to get your petunias handed to you in ship-to-ship combat again and again and again by people who have the cash flow to have the top-level ships in each category. I had fun, but I ended up bashing my face against the rocks of low income too much to keep going. It's all about the Benjamins, baby.
It's ok.
by Snacksalot on 2018/08/13 12:59
The game is okay. You are supposed to collect whichever characters you want, but are limited as to how many you can have unless you spend cash. You'll get offered a whole lot of characters, but can keep less than half. The pricing system is very odd. The only way to have 5 star characters maxed is to spend a silly amount of real money. Very shameless. $4/month will give you daily dilithium. You need dilithium to get characters and equipment you need to advance. The game is a great time waster, but it lacks in being fun and exciting. I was a beta tester for this so I've been playing for 2 years and I'm still waiting for it to get fun. Customer service now takes 1 week to 10 days to respond to issues. I am going to delete this very soon as it no longer holds my interest. They are way too into Discovery. I have buyers remorse wishing I didn't spend all that money trying to get Borg characters that I was never going to be able to get enough of to max out. After 2 years I was able to get a 5 star character up to to 2 stars. There's no way I can hang around for another 3 just to finally be able to use Judge Q. There are characters they released one time and you never saw again - no way to get to 5 stars. This is confirmed by customer service and asking when other Convergence Day Quarks have been released other than the first time for example. Good bye.
The best Star Trek MMORPG on mobile. The best Star Trek Experience since the one in Vegas shut down.
by Abukoff on 2018/04/26 17:20
The best Star Trek MMORPG on mobile. The best Star Trek Experience since the one in Vegas shut down. Seriously, until someone makes a Star Trek dungeon crawler or top-down tactical game, this is as good a Star Trek mobile game as you will ever get. A little limited in visual frills (I’d love to see the interior of the Romulan ship my crew is moving through!) but that opens up the possibilities of the game. The feeling of command is real because you are choosing the right crew to send on away missions. You are responsible for training and advancing them. I’d like to see real faction events, where not only can you support just one faction, but you can only use crew from one faction. Imagine a true Klingon vs Federation event. But overall, the best mobile Trek game there is, or is likely to be. Graphics are top notch on my iPhone 7 and iPad Pro. I’ve found support (through the website, submitting a ticket) to be great. Some delays when there is heavy traffic. Could do with new episodes though. PLEASE. All in all, the most all encompassing Trek experience you’ll find on mobile.

I’m a long time fan of Star Trek - when I first downloaded this game (a few days after initial launch) I discovered the paywall and decided I’ll play as a free player only. I didn’t expect much besides collecting some lower grade cards and maybe having some fun as long as it lasted. The “Star Trek” association drew me in. The daily awards give out some good things including a super rare card, in the coming months more additions to the game were introduced allowing people like me (playing free) to slowly collect upper tier (super rare and legendary) cards. Other additions like voyages give one the ability to collect more pieces like chronitons so you can run more missions. There’s a strong player community and forum where players get tips on how to play. Customer support is responsive. I’ve never needed to contact them but depending on your situation I’ve heard they can be great or not so great. It depends. Anyway, if you’re willing to put in the time, you don’t need to spend a penny to build a strong crew. I’ve done it. You just need to have patience.
It’s gotten better except....
by Tib of ST on 2018/07/05 03:17
Ok to start with, if you know your Trek(s) this game will probably still stump you with some really obscure characters. The missions though are still repetitive and doesn’t really make you feel like you are accomplishing anything. WORST is the cash grab, shown nowhere more visibly perhaps in their “free” daily spin of the wheel for a reward. I have played this for years now and have NEVER won anything good on this. Worse still, if you pay for their exponentially increasingly expensive 2nd, 3rd, etc wheel spins with VERY pricey dilithium, you still don’t win anything approaching the value of what you’ve spent. I never did get any of what I spent my thousands of dilithium on. The same goes for their premium packs but you can, rarely, get something of value there. Working your way for months nets you a little honor which can be spent on other valuable things, but good luck, because it takes forever to earn it and nothing to spend it. The economy is out of whack in favor of the fool and his (or her) money, which has, I admit, on occasion been me! I still cannot heartily recommend this game until Disruptor Beam is visited by Dickin’s spirits and loosens it’s purse strings a bit.
A true fan game
by galaxy class a-hole on 2020/02/19 12:21
The detailing, on the ships and characters, is unbelievably accurate. They way you’ve tied every ship and character from every show and movie into one seamless storyline is incredible. I really like how you can really study the ships, go from world to world at anytime and complete side goals for rewards. I’ve been playing for the better part of 2 years and I have to say, I’m impressed. Looking at any character takes me back to the show and story. That’s where it’s at for me. The pvp ship battles aren’t bad either :) Your generosity in the game is unending. It's a great thing you have here. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I write this as I’m putting my 8 week old daughter to bed. I guess you never know, we could have another “pointy eared, green blooded hobgoblin” fan in our family. Hopefully your game will still be around for her to experience. An already long review, so I will simply say “Good luck” and thank you. Admiral Tomalak
Frustrating for me
by Mev168 on 2020/02/21 23:08
While I continue to play this game after several weeks, IMHO, it is "frustrating" in some respects that make me not recommend it: 1. I have found myself playing the same 2-6-click episode/map 7 (boring) times in a row (with or without 1-click "warping") -- trying to obtain a component "reward" to help "equip" a character -- and not receive it even though there are only 4-5 possible "rewards" for playing it. Meanwhile, i ended up with 8+ units each of a couple of other components. It's ridiculous. 2. I find I have to wait 5+ hours for my supply of "chronitons" to rebuild before i can continue playing -- unless I want to buy them at prices that seem way too steep to me given how quickly one can use them and repeat the same "didn't get it again" experience described in the prior bullet. It feels like I'm spending more time waiting to "play" the game than actually playing it. 3. Every time i click on a small subset of my crew members, the game plays a short audio clip of dialogue spoken by that character. But, for some characters, I've heard only one clip! It "gets old" quickly. I'm somewhat glad most characters lack dialogue but really wish the developers had put in a little more effort picking out clips. Short Narration by "Q" was fun. This might be the first "pay as u go" / "game as a service" game I've played. I much prefer the "buy it once, play the entire plot at your own pace" model. Ymmv
Disruptor Beam = Hit Garbage
by Nbamatt on 2018/12/08 03:03
Game is alright and easy as far as gameplay. Truly being successful is a completely different story. If you want to compete in events and any other game mode and do well you MUST spend money and a lot of it. I’ve spent more than I’d like to say and still struggle to get the top 1k in events to get the legendary characters in a weekly basis. They keep making the newer characters stronger and slowly phasing the old ones out to mediocrity. Don’t get me started on there trash that is customer service. They stole from 1000’s of players after the 4 July 2018 debacle. They were mistakenly giving out free currency instead of selling characters with that currency. People went to it in droves to get the currency to buy character packs. They took back everything and more from players!!! They advertise stuff you might or might not get to get you to spend more $$$. If you make an error or mistake it’s tough luck on your part, there general response is there is nothing they can do. But if they mess up they for sure will do something. Customer Service rude. I only play this game because I have so much money in it at this point. Don’t waste your time or money on this crap!!!
Fun Star Trek game (grinder)
by Simulation: Fu3aR2016+4 on 2019/11/20 07:21
Longtime player, probably long time before I feel done with this one. I haven’t read ANY other reviews of this game, I came straight from a link within the game. There’s plenty of things to do in the game, depending on how much time you want to spend grinding a few tasks. Probably feels a little repetitive for some people but for me it works because you actually are getting a fair amount of resources for tasks that only take a couple minutes each day. You can definitely play this game without dropping a ton of $$ but you are best off at least purchasing the monthly ‘gem’ thing for around four dollars so you can purchase a couple things that can only be gotten with ‘gems’ There’s some PvP and some space battles and weekly events where you can pick up some extra crew members. Bottom line, I really like this game, I play daily and it’s at least worth a try if you like Star Trek and/or strategy.
The "Rate us!" Popup is not so great...
by Archangel Beth on 2019/11/22 03:27
Hopefully it wIll go away now. ;) I like the game's enticements for ads, rather than throwing them in your face. I like that it can run this on a not-very-up-to-date iPad. I suspect it would not work well on a small iPhone, though. The chief issues are the management of characters (once one is high enough level to participate in weekly events) and of inventory. Firstly, space for characters is at a premium. I feel the monthly dilithium "subscription" isn't too onerous, but if you are tight on funds, be wary. You will want dilithium to buy crew slots. (It's an optional $4 a month, basically.) Secondly, what seems like a plentiful amount of inventory slots will eventually become a tad cramped -- and items vanish if you go above the item cap, with no warning. This got me a few times, till Support told me what was happening and I changed my play style. On the plus side, Support has always been polite and helpful, and fairly prompt. (Something other games are often lacking.) Character illustrations are good (if with a tendency for tiny feet). I play on mute, which helps with noisy ads (which do not pop up without you selecting them!), but the recorded lines for many characters are often amusing. It's also a more portable Star Trek fix than Star Trek Online (the MMO), though I'd be wary of playing ads outside of wifi. (I worry about those eating my cell data...) 🖖🏽
Good game, but buggy with horrible customer service from DB
by pragyandeb on 2018/01/05 04:53
As a long time fan of Star Trek, this is a great game that is potentially loads of fun. But the issue is that the developer, Disruptor Beam (DB) is more interested in constantly running events (every week from Thursday-Monday, and often longer during holidays) and trying adding features without making sure they work to begin with. This makes playing the game a very frustrating endeavor with random bugs and things not working the way they are supposed to. Their quick fixes often makes things worse. In addition, their customer service is horrible, with CS taking weeks to respond to simple issue. And even when they do respond, they tend to send canned responses requiring further lengthen back-and-forth. This has not been helped by the fact that they recently laid off a bunch of people making things even worse. Again, the game has loads of potential if the developer can get its act together. They need to get the basics right instead of trying to constantly sell overprices event packs. Long term they will make more money by keeping players happy and committed to the game.
Shameless pay-to-win
by Larry Chambers on 2018/04/04 20:53
As a huge Star Trek fan, this game was cool for about 2 hours. I liked getting beloved characters added to my crew, and the missions had interesting story lines. Then the pay-to-win mechanic got shoved in my face as I ran out of the necessary currency to play any more missions. Space combat is the equivalent of watching the computer fly two ships around while you press a few buttons (I taught a small child to win the space battles for me in about 30 seconds). Upgrading your crew in order to be competitive quickly became a laborious task of repeating the same text-based missions over and over again in order to hopefully get the required rewards that appear at random. I would be willing to pay $10 for an app like this that lets me kill a few hours. But this game quickly demands hundreds or even thousands of real world dollars in order to advance in any meaningful way. Just to get a second starship would take weeks of grinding, repetitive play. The game was also very confusing initially because it offers no tutorials and has a very confusing interface with buttons all over the place.
Additive like Vegas Slots!
by Exhausted and broke on 2020/02/08 03:28
The game is fun and addicting, but is very expensive if you want to be relevant. There is no way to win, or ever collect them all, but collecting crew helps you do better in events which are designed to collect crew. The vicious cycle makes sure the House always is the ultimate winner. It is a great way to spend your free time, but never ending year round events make sure it eventually feels more like a job than entertainment. Updated: A year later, the game has done more to ease the strong fisted hold on its rewards. They have great customer service and are constantly looking to improve. Still, I would rather be an investor than a player, as they continue to collect money hand-over-fist while my pleasure at playing remains moderate. The money they bring in from someone like me who only “kinda enjoys play” shows their model works. With that, I’ll take another day.
Pay for nostalgia
by Ninjaorasleep on 2019/02/17 17:31
This game is a not so subtly disguised video gambling game. All games want to make money. That’s the goal. But because Star Trek has always had this undercurrent of altruism, it’s difficult to associate it with something set out to capitalize on dopaminergic responses. As with Pokémon, this game tickles the part of the brain that wants to gamble and collect them all and keep playing. At least with Pokémon Go they give you options to earn some virtual money and the game is still enjoyable without having to pay. Sure, some people say they can play without paying. That takes patience - like the willingness to sift through the discount CDs in a dollar store. And it’s not fun. You are looking at graphics of fake parts. They don’t even move! A game for a console costs between $10-$60. People spend a LOT more on this game in order to have play time and in order to succeed at competitions. You will win by not winning. People who “win” at this game have spent a lot of money. What will it mean in the greater scheme of a person’s life when their epitaph reads something like, “They ranked #1 in the Gauntlet in Star Trek Timelines”?
The Devil is in the Details!
by Maverick42689 on 2017/09/18 00:17
I love Star Trek Timelines!! As a devoted Trekkie(especially The Next Generation), I love everything Star Trek! This game is a lot of fun. I normally don't like games where you have limited energy (Chronitons in STL) but, this game is still awesome and they give away energy (Chronitons) all the time. A lot of times what I do is wait like a month or two, then comeback and find a bunch of messages giving out like 500 or 1000 Chronitons (energy). Anyways, the sheer detail of this game is truly amazing! All the little pieces of equipment for your characters are all from the various Star Trek iterations. It's the little things like Earl Grey Tea(Captain Picard's drink of choice) and Raktajino(Klingon Coffee) that really make this game a must play for any Star Trek fans! Some of things even I can't remember what they are/where they're from! So, make it your "continuing mission to seek out" all the fun to be had in this game!!!!!
The pay wall
by Jer.orchestrated on 2019/02/06 02:32
I wanted to like it. I tried really hard. I loved the obscure characters and found many of the missions that merged storylines from multiple shows to be very compelling, but the problem is the money. There is a difference between pay to win and pay to play. This game jumps over the line and keeps running. I’ll admit I didn’t actually pay for anything yet. I was still fairly new and didn’t want to spend money on something until I really understood what I was buying. But I never completed a voyage because I didn’t have dilithium. I basically ran out of away missions because I didn’t have dilithium. I never completed my daily missions because I didn’t have dilithium. I only got about three decent stat characters because I didn’t have dilithium. And the nail in the coffin for me was that I was capped at 90 characters when this game has over 650 at the time. Only without buying dilithium of course. I think this game needs some competition. Maybe then it could be more accessible and friendlier to free to play players.
Love the game but here are a few ideas
by Johnnybulldog on 2018/12/22 13:41
First of great game been playing on multiple devices since it was released and second off for events it would be cool if you can spend some credits, honor, merits to buy ranks or even some dilituim to buy all the ranks without earning event points just the rank and it’s rewards and I’m talking about solo rewards but with credits you can spend like 20 thousand to buy a couple ranks of like maybe for a event that’s happyining right now it would get you to teir five or maybe ten and then either merits or honors can get you further and if you spend a couple hundred dilituim you can get the entire rewards which it would be a cool idea but maybe you can think about and maybe run a pull somewhere and ask the community what they think about it but it would be cool if you could by ranks for ingame cash or maybe real money
Game is on a decline.
by MULEZSTI on 2020/02/07 20:01
I’ve been playing this game since the day after it was introduced, going on almost 4 years now. I’m not going to lie, it isn’t as fun as it used to be. There’s nothing new, nothing exciting, and everywhere you turn, you have to spend a decent amount of money to get anywhere decent in the game. I still log in, still do my chores (dailies). I just wish It was cheaper, and it wasn’t the same thing all the time. Every time there’s an update, it seems nothing works right. It’d be great if they had a Q/A section that could identify problems before releases. There’s so much more I could say about this game but that’s for another time. I do like it, somewhat, what can I say, I’m a Trekkie. And it has given me the platform to meet people in my fleet I would of never met who I call my friends now. I just wish it could get better. Listen to your fans/player base DB. Update, the citation sale was a good idea/effort. I hope they’d keep that up.
Fun for Trekkies
by NingboTheLovely on 2019/11/23 22:09
As a die hard Trekkie I love this game for the shear awesomeness of imagining all these characters from different series working together. I have so much fun collecting characters and sending them in away teams together. This is definitely one of my favorite ways to spend my time. That being said, the main value in this game is primarily imagined. I ignore most of the in game stories and I avoid the super obnoxious space battles. Also, like most app games these days, you soon run into a point where you either have to wait for things to finish or make in app purchases. This game is definitely out to get your money and most of the cool stuff requires at least a few purchases to enjoy. I can’t imagine why anyone who isn’t obsessed with this franchise would want to play this game. So there you have it. A great thought experiment with to many in app purchases that’s fun for Trekkies!
Awesome game
by Koala gray on 2020/02/08 01:46
I love this game. For me support has been great. I love the collecting aspect and the fact it is Star Trek based. It is possible to "beat" the game without spending money. But for me the object isn't getting thru the available chapters. It is collecting the crew. There are many many free to play players who haven't spent a dime and have great lists of crew. There is a monthly card for $4 that gives a free item or crew member every day. It also gives 100 dilithium the currency every day. That's plenty to do everything but really the only thing needed is patience. I have spent money on this mainly to buy dilithium I use to purchase special crew packs. But even that isn't necessary unless you're obsessed with "catching them all". The company continues to try to make the game better and come up with fun things to do. If you love Trek it is a must have game.
Very fun, game stays fresh every week
by henrycountyfarmer on 2020/02/07 18:12
I’m a long-time Trek fan, And this game immediately drew my interest. I love how true to the series the game stays, and how much depth and detail goes into so many aspects of it. It is not a pay to win game, although paying for certain aspects can speed you along and I like that it doesn’t feel forced to buy. One big addition I would like to see added to the game would be more interactions with your fleet. Our fleet has a lot of fun talking amongst each other, and we even have several rivalries with other fleets. It would be awesome if there were ways to challenge them to ship battles, gauntlets, etc. Also make fleet rewards part of events, as there are already fleet rankings I feel there should also be rewards involved. In summary, great game, but would love to see more MMO aspects added to make that feeling of community have an impact on the game.
Don’t Expect Much from DB
by Poopkis on 2017/10/07 15:33
I am a long time player of Timelines. This was a great game, especially for fans of the Star Trek universe, and I have made many friends in the greater online community. But it seems as if every decision Disruptor Beam makes ends up alienating the player base. The worst aspect of this game is the extremely unpredictable nature of DB’s RNG engine: Drop rates for necessary gear are horrible, advertised mission success rates in the 80% to 90% range are just as likely to fail as those below 50%. The Gauntlet feature has empirically been proven to be unfair, yet DB claims everything is “working as intended™.” Meanwhile, every time a new feature has been introduced, there have been a litany of bugs and exploits. I put in a support ticket for a problem with the latest game upgrade, and I have been waiting 19 days and counting for a resolution. So play this game or not. Spend money on it or not. Just understand that Disruptor Beam seems much more interested in taking people’s money than providing a quality gaming experience.
Latest update brings many badly needed features
by BechtD42 on 2017/08/23 21:22
I've been playing for over a year. I'm in a very active fleet, which isn't easy to find/maintain (there are a lot of casual players and "dead" fleets out there.) The recent release, v2.2.0, finally provides some long-needed fleet management features, such as squad and fleet leader abdication, knowing who is in each 5-person squad, knowing every player's and squad's (and now fleet's) final event rank. You can even look up all your personal, past event ranks. You can see how long each member has been absent, sorted oldest to newest. It's now possible to find and recruit players to fleet. Fleets are the social center of the game. The game is a lot better when you play along with other active players. This is why improved fleet management means so much. I'm glad to see the developer willing to make significant UX improvements.
True Trekkies will LOVE IT
by gailburt on 2017/10/26 19:36
The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is fun, and the Trek is true. What else is there to ask for? Fun special events keep the game interesting even after you've completed the first 6 episodes (currently all there are) until they roll out new ones. I play every day! UPDATE: I’ve been playing over a year now and I still enjoy it. If you’re new to the game or a free to play player, you can still have a lot of fun. I recommend joining a fleet that will help you increase your good results - like mine! Barrel of Bloodwine - we welcome and try hard to help newer players. Some of our members have great crew, which can be shared during certain events. We can also give you tips and support you in how to best use your crew to make the game more fun. Any good fleet will do the same for you, but of course, BoB does it best!
The greatest App game I’ve ever had
by Dari1978 on 2020/02/13 15:23
After playing Star Trek timelines for a few years now; and it’s hands-down the best Star Trek app game available for mobile devices on the market. The development has been steady and progressively productive. In app purchases are highly affordable but are not at all necessary to enjoy the game thoroughly. The attention to detail of stock check canon is so far superior to any other app game that uses the Star Trek theme. It almost feels Inaccurate to say this game uses it as a theme, because the Game is so lush in Star Trek lore, that it’s even kept current. Star Trek timelines is the only game where I’m able to play and collect characters from every Star Trek emanation. From the original to discovery and beyond. If you like Star Trek and you don’t at least give this game significant try ... it would be illogical.
Good game horrible support
by Froggy567 on 2019/11/22 22:13
The game is fun however when they have technical troubles the support is horrible. Submitted a case on a Friday at 5:00 pm about an issue with a purchase not showing up in game for me but my money coming out of iTunes. I finally got a response Saturday afternoon saying they apologize and need to see a copy of my receipt and they can adjust my game. I sent the receipt back in an email and said they show but the purchase in game. No response until Sunday when the day I need to contact iTunes to have them credit my account if I don’t want the purchase. I reply saying I don’t want a credit I want the purchase put into my game as they said they would. It is now Tuesday and I still have not gotten any response after emailing multiple times. Terrible customer service!
Fun for a while, but it’s RNG driven and a money pit
by GreenLimeOmega on 2018/09/13 18:01
This is basically a crew collecting and resource management game. There’s not a whole lot of depth to any of the systems, and unsurprisingly power creep is used to entice players to chase new releases, routinely devaluing older crew member and ships to push more recently released crew and ships, which are often at least temporarily only available through purchases. The majority of the purchases, and many of the game mechanics themselves, rely heavily on random number generation. You’re essentially constantly gambling on booster packs of trading cards, but because it’s a digital system and the developer has complete control over the economy, it’s aggressively unfavorable to the player, particularly for premium ships, which have an outright abusive pricing model compared to their in-game value and the utility of undesirable/excess ship parts. It’s hard to consistently appreciate the Star Trek atmosphere when the game feels as though it’s being run by Ferengi. And to those less familiar with the franchise, that is not a compliment.
Fun Game, Strange Choices
by Ajendus on 2018/01/23 04:30
I definitely enjoy playing the game. The story and random nature of the characters that pop up is fun. You can play for a few minutes or for hours if you have time. There are some unexpected details. Some very non-canon thing appear in the game. For example, names of places are wrong. You get to “build” ships using a currency called ‘schematics.’ The ships don’t, however, seem to match what I observed in Star Trek. A ships from hundreds of years ago is more power than the Enterprise-D or Defiant. Kind of makes it less fun because you might want to play a certain ship but can’t because it is weak compared to ships that are logically inferior. Some characters bare the same issue. Captain Picard is a weak character in the game with low leadership skills. I supposed one could argue he wasn’t a good leader but I think that would be far fetched. There are some things in the game that need better explanation. For example ‘Voyages’ are longer term mission. Don’t know how the duration gets calculated. Don’t know how events during those missions fail. Graphics area really good a lot of the time... sometimes it looks like something from the mid 90’s. I have Star Trek games from 2000 that have better graphics. But those haven’t kept me from playing it. Just choices I wou”d have made differently from the developer.
So intricate, thought provoking, and simple.
by *Mossmaniac* on 2018/06/13 17:05
The game starts at a reasonable pace, guiding you through, and unlocking features through the first 10 levels. This gives you the not overwhelmed feeling and eases you in to the vast expanse the game has to offer. The game includes, missions, challenges, arena battles, space battles, voyages, and events. With over 500 characters and several galaxies in the Star Trek universe, you don’t get bored leveling characters and building items. Also raising your status with the factions increases your rewards. This game is unlike any other, but the ease of play keeps you coming back for more honor, credits, and dilithium, all with satisfaction I finally evolving a character to full level and equipment! Hopefully you try this out, it does not disappoint!
Fun, but has some downsides
by geekzapoppin on 2019/11/20 15:54
The developers obviously love Star Trek, since they’ve done a great job with character and plot details. Also, the game looks really great. I enjoy playing it and don’t really get bored with it. However... once you’ve played for a bit, it becomes obvious that you’ll end up having to spend some money in order to progress. For me, I can still get a satisfying experience only having to pay for the monthly dilithium pack, which is currently under $4. Still, I can see that this minimum purchase may soon not keep me at a level where I feel like I can get my money’s worth from the game. If you’re someone who absolutely refuses to pay anything for a mobile game, you’ll find yourself grinding the same levels for a long time in order to get anywhere.
Addictive game
by Mad Cox on 2019/11/20 16:50
I've been playing this game for a while now and owe the team this review. The game is so addictive, I can't stop playing it. There is so much to do: level characters, cadet challenges, arena battles, gauntlet, voyages, events, complete episodes, fleet rewards and the list goes on. it's never boring. You don't have to spend a penny if you don't want to and still experience everything. There are constant updates and I hope they'll never slow down. No game is perfect and there are things I'd like to see change (more crew slots, a simpler way to sort through characters etc) but overall this is one of the best app games I've ever played. So sign up, find a great fleet in-game and start leveling those characters. Thank you for this game!!!
Timelines is a fine time, but...
by Efh313 on 2017/08/31 02:55
I am a huge fan of Star Trek and this is a great game with so many interesting gameplay elements and crew members to collect that it will keep you coming back for more. However, that it why I must take a star away. The game is just enough too much pay to win to feel, wrong. I believe in supporting games I love and the monthly dilithium is well worth it for $3.99. But it does not help that people willing to drop hundreds can buy maxed out legendary cards and essentially have a field day with the game. Even THAT would be bearable IF free to play players were able to slowly but surely work towards their goal but in a game that is primarily about collecting unique crew, Timelines is ridiculously stingy with crew slots. You only get 40 slots with over 400 different crew members!!! An additional 10 slots can be bought with free in game credits but beyond that it is dilithium only, i.e. Pay to Win strikes again. But don't misunderstand this is not a negative review. I enjoy the game immensely and it's extremely well made and maintained. I merely want to offer a transparent and honest perception from a free to play player to others interested in the pay to win element. Thanks for the great game Disruptor Beam and LLAP!!
Great Game!
by Steph19L on 2019/02/05 00:00
I really like this game! There are lots of things to do: space battles, missions, voyages, event challenges... I also think there are a great variety of crew members and gear cards- and the upgrading system is both achievable and easy to understand. I think most of the bad reviews are from players that have not been playing very long... After two days, the gameplay gets a lot easier as you upgrade your crew and earn free crew cards through achievements. Maybe a full crew should be given out free at the start? I know I was a bit bummed that I had to wait a few days for a second medical crew card to be able to send my crew on a voyage... I would love to see more events, chapters, and characters- just more of everything :)
4 stars and still rising
by the criticks on 2019/05/30 02:13
This is awesome. There’s drama, adventure, I feel crazy when I’m like that’s blah blah blah from TNG and he was leader of Blah blah blah. I only have 1 stars off because I personally love the game and am a big fan of Star Trek but the space battles are a little too simple. I wish there was some way of interacting with your ship like steering or aiming. It’s no big dealAnd then the explosion at the end is just pieces breaking apart. I wish that it was more dramatic. Just to make the game more interesting I feel like there should be more images for the options in the campaign Also I wish that you could interact with planets and space stations Finally I wish I could battle with characters like a fps or tps and team up on battles with friends instead of only one on one. I do have a lot of complaints but compared to the greatness that is timelines there’s not much. Great job disruptor beam and keep up the good work. I’m exited about your next games (preferably one where your a officer making your way up the ranks up to captain and it’s first person and you can free roam your ship, other ships planets and space stations
Only game that's got me hooked
by UltimateTabbyCat on 2017/09/12 15:24
As a Star Trek nerd, this game is super fun. My friends have seen me play it and "tried to play it" with me, but it's not the same unless you remember all these cool characters from the various series and try to collect them all. I'm one of the only Americans in a fleet of Canadians, which is super fun, too. Starbases were added very recently, which make the teamwork aspect of the game more beneficial. I wouldn't call this game a "pay to play", but if you want to be in the top ranks you definitely have to pay. Otherwise, be humble with whatever event ranks, etc. you get. I love the game so much that I don't mind chipping in $10 for some stuff every couple of weeks. The game is so crazy detailed, it's worth it!!!!
Star Trek
by Top revieweReweiver poT on 2018/06/06 07:30
For a true fan of the ST continuum there is no other possibility... This game rules. Just "killing" Wesley Crusher over & over each time he's offered is worth the entry fee! Could it be better? Does a whale sing in outer space!!! They need more "swarthy" Eastern European Klingons and Harry Mudd like the redux Chekov needed to dodge his "wesstle". We can't all meet Albino space Elves. But if we could... STT would have said Albino Elves included into the gameplay in a snap. Look how ST: Discovery was incorporated. This spans the entire Canon they include single episode über-beloved creatures from the original series. That has to come from a Trekkie supportive staff. Don’t forget if they don’t get paid, then they don’t pay their bills: then their Server provider shuts down... and the game you know you love more then their minor (but realistically described) faults matter. Think of them as that annoying space-wonk Hengist: “Fairy tales. Ghosts and goblins.” But Redjac on the other hand... is like the joy of playing this game for it’s own sake: “You'll die. Die, die, die, everybody die. Kill, kill, kill you all.” ! (And that episode played in the middle of the Summer of Love).

The game is great: 5 stars, always great. Much better than the one that gets advertised. Anyway: I had a huge problem with my log in, it got associated to another old email of mine and was all screwed up. I figured that was it and started over again. Then I sent a help request and the support team was AMAZING. For a free app, for any free anything, to provide such hands on service and support is almost shocking. Personal emails, two different reps working on it: all bc I messed something up. Now my game which I’ve been working on for a couple years is back. I’m stoked bc this is a game that I play here and there, but it’s the only phone game I’ve played this long. Thanks everyone.
To complicated
by Natees21 on 2018/04/13 16:07
I love Star Trek and when I first saw this I was so excited. But as I start to play you don’t actually do much, you select characters and then it shares a story with you and you choose which character you want to move forward with. But nothing I really do. Also the requirements jump up higher than you can build you characters up in the same amount of time. I have played it for over a week, I’m only a level 9 captain, have one ship with out upgrades and can’t even get 3 stars in a ship battle. To upgrade characters you have to find or build certain things but all of my characters need things from places I have yet to find, so I can’t upgrade them. It’s hard to understand where to go after the first world storyline and they charge for EVERYTHING. I get it, this is business but when I can’t do enough to get hooked, I’m not throwing money at it... I just stop playing.
Good but plan on spending a lot of money.
by Bert_09 on 2017/08/24 23:42
The game itself has great gameplay for a mobile device. There are weekly events. Crew space on the other hand is laughable. For over 400 available crew members you will not have the space for every single one. They introduced the Cryostasis vault which is great For storage. Unless you want to pay 3000 dilithium for 5 additional crew storage it's getting to be a waste of time. Once my monthly subscription ends I will most likely stop playing until they either provide a fair number of crew slots or they lower the price on additional crew slots. Because at the rate they introduce new crew members you'll be wasting your time also.
Supremely silly, but a good workday time-waster for your inner Star Trek fan

I played this game for a while. Stopped because I didn’t like spending much money on mobile games, but recently picked it back up. In the time I was gone, the devs made one key change, which is making ‘warp’ a free feature. This means that grinding (and there’s a lot of it in this game) is much easier for F2P players. This game is great because it doesn’t require much attention. Check in every few hours. One play session at night after work or before bed, and you can continue to make good progress. Thank you for making a Star Trek game that is playable by those of us who work for a living!
Been playing for years.
by Masleth on 2020/02/07 20:35
Great game. Fun and simple. Collect versions of characters from nearly all Star Trek media. (Excludes novels and the new movies). You build them up and play a variety of simple missions. Weekly competitive events keep it interesting. Events give rewards just for playing, so they’re still fun even if you’re not competing for high rank. While the game does have a competitive aspect, you can never take resources from other players: you keep everything you earn and no one can raid you to take your stuff. This is a big point for me. Too many games allow this and it burns me out in days. It is a “freemium” game. If you spend, you will advance faster, but is completely unnecessary to have fun with it. I will recommend the premium campaign upgrade if you want to spend just a little bit. It costs $10 and gives exceptional rewards just for completing all of your daily missions. Other than that, it’s mostly gamble packs. Star Trek Timelines is a fun little game that doesn’t require too much time or money. Enjoy. LLAP.

I’ve played this game for about a year now and I’ve experienced what I believe is the majority of the game. There are a variety of activities to keep you busy, plenty of pay to win but with a little determination it is possible to do ok without paying. There are advertisements for non-game related stuff but they are optional which I like. Graphics are ok, not great and the gameplay makes a good time sink which is all I use mobile games for. The worst part: There are a few advertisements for in game promotions when you start the game. The best part: The game runs well and the one issue I had was resolved quickly with some help from the support team. I appreciate that in a FTP mobile game.
Worth it

So, I never rate games, but I’ve been playing this one for two years and I really do love it. It’s really well designed and clearly made by people who love and enjoy Star Trek in all of its forms. The people who run it are responsive and are constantly developing new ways for the game to be enjoyed. The one thing I really like about this game is that you don’t have to pour money into it to enjoy everything. Early on, it does require more patience but after that every resource can be pretty easily stocked up. I definitely would recommend for any Star Trek fan looking for a game that’s not extremely competitive and for one that has a lot of variety.

Best Ever!!

Had one ask for my apple password upon opening the app, for a $99.99 purchase.

by InfiniteGrant on 2021/01/13 21:11
I have played for years at this point. I have changed my rating to 1 star as it is simply not able to be completed.

by Iron steel horse23 on 2020/12/29 00:55
Once I start to play it I like it but you can’t always have what you want in the game because the in app purchases start to grow on you as well as your credit card and whatever you use for it if you got financial burdens that keep you bond to some thingThen you over your limit like it breaks your credit card bill most most Serious thing I’ve done in my life
Save time, skip download and just send money to company.
by Wayne298 on 2020/12/20 19:50
This preditory app is designed to encourage maximum spending without providing support when the in game items that you purchase are not worth what they are advertised.

Overall, Bravo to the Developers - I Do Like This Game 🙂👍🏻🚀

by Topsy-Turvy Hellfire on 2020/09/19 20:45
This game is fantastic!!!

So, make it your "continuing mission to seek out" all the fun to be had in this game!!!!!

by Jer.orchestrated on 2019/02/06 02:32
I wanted to like it.
