Guitario: Guitar Notes Trainer
Description
Guitario is a game that improves your guitar skills. This application was created in collaboration with professional guitarists in order to help people memorize notes on a guitar's fretboard. Before the clock runs out guess the correct note and earn higher scores and higher skills. The more points you get the cooler the guitars you unlock and don't forget to test your skills in the real world ! What are we talking about? Why should you know the notes on your fretboard ? Here are a few reasons why: 1. Understand the music your are playing - learning the notes increases your insight into music, making it easier to recreate and compose songs. 2. Increase your improvising skills - familiarize yourself with all the notes and have them always at your fingertips 3. Speak the same language as musicians - notes (like words) allow you to write music and communicate with your fellow bandmates 4. Read sheet music more easily - reading and playing standard notation becomes much easier when you know notes location on a fretboard 5. Take more out of music theory - knowing notes makes music theory concepts much more applicable 6. Transpose songs, riffs and solos to other parts of the fretboard - play them all over the fretboard and find out where they sound best 7. Build a foundation for ear training - by playing Guitario, slowly but surely you will improve you ear and help to make a connection between what you hear and what you see Besides all these benefits, here is what makes our game unique: - interactive lessons that provide theory and practice - customizable training mode - challenge mode - leaderboards - achievements - reaction times statistics - accuracy statistics - scales
Great app, needs some fine tuning

Exactly what I was looking for to improve my understanding of music and the relationship with the fretboard. I’ve noticed a few bugs as well as typos throughout the app. When specifying a “practice area” on the fretboard the lowest string specified is always ignored, as is the highest fret. When in # mode B# on the clef is A# on the fretboard, so that always comes out wrong, though all other notes are correctly matched. However, when in flat (b) mode all of the clef is wrong by one note except Bb, which is the only correct one.
Bug in v3.2.2
by josh123432345 on 2020/07/13 19:10
Good app and useful for learning note locations. However, there is a bug, when the app shows staff notation: the note displayed on the staff is a low B# ????? And the answer says it is an A#. This is repeatable under many different conditions in training mode, but appears most obviously when all but bottom strings are turned off.
Amazing!

This is a really good app, I have improved a lot within 30 minutes! Definitely recommend it!

Good game but NEEDS a left handed option!!!
Brilliant App

The latest update makes this useful app almost perfect. The facility to concentrate on specific areas of the fretboard makes it so much more useful and effective. Great job!

Wouldn’t rely on this wholly to memorise notes on a fretboard; there should be some practice on an actual guitar too.
Good App

Seems good app. Should help fretboard memory by making it a bit more fun to learn.
Terrible app!

Not at all clear what I’m supposed to do in the test. Nothing I’ve tried seems to work on my phone. Very disappointing. Waste of money. Refund please?!
Brilliant fun

What a fantastic way to learn the notes on the neck . Love it . I’m getting better every day .
Exactly what I needed

Yes, it would be nice to have a bass option, but it does what it says it does very well.
Does exactly what it says on the tin.

Fun little games to help you memorise the fretboard. What’s not to like? Fun and educational 🤓
Great

This is a great app but it would be even better if you could choose to memorise the notes as flats rather than sharps.
Not greatest interface but still good
by only1symo on 2018/04/30 08:49
Easy to play, fairly intuitive and also does variations on where to hit the fretboard and guess the note. Recommended
No left handed option
by adsclayton on 2018/03/08 17:16
I just bought this app only to find there is no option for left handed orientation so it is useless to me. App support link does not work so unable to request a refund.
Brilliant support on the go

This is awesome to support your memorisation of the fretboard when you're on the go. Just what I needed!
It helps
by Shredvanwinkle on 2015/11/11 22:56
I definitely recommend this as part of a wider training plan. I'm currently learning the intervallic structure on the guitar and this does help. Because it records your reaction times it helps really identify the grey areas on the fretboard. Great for the train/bus/plane etc.
Superb
