I think that this is a great app and I myself have a YouTube channel but... on my phone the number of likes and dislikes does not appear next to the corresponding buttons. I don't know if this is a bug or deliberate but it is a little frustrating because I cannot see how many likes or dislikes my (or other people's) videos have. Nareknight

Since update I try to add a comment the app crashes and then won't open again until it is deleted and reinstalled. Try an add a comment again and the same thing happens. iPhone 7 plus 10.3.1.

I like the way the app looks and works, but it dosn't work all the time. When picking 1080p60 it just says something went wrong. Sometimes the fullscreen glitches and you have to manually fix it. Apart from that, good app

A recent update has made videos unplayable on the app (doesn't load videos and crashes app when trying), basically nullifying the point of it. YouTube videos on Safari work just fine, so it must be something wrong with the app. Get it sorted, Google.

The app is ok to use but will often get stuck on full screen when watching videos. Really irritating as you might have another video lined up or something but then have to close the app and resume the video you were watching. YouTube needs to get these basic yet experience ruining bugs fixed.

I love that I can watch whatever I want, on any subject, at anytime. But, I hate how glitchy the mobile version of youtube is. It kicks me off all the time, I have problems making playlists, problems with the watch later option! The suggested videos option shows videos I've already seen, and a whole host of content from other non English speaking countries. It's just so disappointing that I have all these issues ever day! Not to mention the avalanche of commercials we're all now forced to watch, unless you are in a YouTube red available country. FIX IT GOOGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't have a problem with the app, I just have a problem with how you are treating YouTubers like Kendal Rae. Just because you want to push off YouTubers that don't make as much money for you, it doesn't mean you have to completely cut off their livelihood.

I've loved the app for many years and when the update came out a few years ago totally redisigning the interface of youtube, I hated the look so much and still miss the old layout now. It's like you downgraded in looks. Another thing, for the past few days my recommendations have been awful. Videos that I've already seen always show up in my recommendations. And videos that I've removed from my recommended for "I'm not interested in this video" don't change my recommendations what so ever.

I can share the same account between my devices and I don't have any actual problem with the app! It does the job. The only thing I am stuck on is how to make my channel public. I'm only giving a 4⭐️ is because the settings are very confusing yet they could probably be made a lot more straight forward and easier to use.

Creeper987 25th April 2017 Well on safari I just keep getting weird things so I decided to use the application, It worked much better and the app uses updates. It is a lot different and more big fixes so I like this much more than safari. I still need a few more updates. Sorry, I don't know how to add support to the application I'll look at a video on the app how to support the app. Get what I mean? It took along time for the app to download but I thought that's because it is such a good application. Thanks for reading!

I would recommend it but recently I have been getting really weird recommendations which dont fit the criteria i watch so it does annoy me because i was so happy with it before and now that has happened it is annoying and it takes the mic and now i dont know what to do other than start over which could take ages so youtube need to fix that because its bloody annoying

For some reason my videos won't load on my YouTube but without the new iOS update. Only yesterday I was looking at the reviews to see whether anyone else had the problem and today they've fixed the 'add to playlist' issue. Super happy.

iPad (Recent Update)

Issues with the the recent update for iPad devices, when I add a video into my playlist it produces an odd bug which freezes the panel and I am unable to scroll and select my specific playlist. Does not seem to be a problem accessing the playlist on iPhone devices when adding video to a playlist as I am able to scroll into the various playlists, the iPad update seems to have broken this. Tested on a iPad Pro and iPad 2, both have the same issue with the most recent YouTube app update. --- New YouTube update has fixed my issues with the playlist when viewed on a iPad.

So before there was a bug which makes videos say 'something went wrong' so to fix this simply turn off your device completely for like half a day then turn it back on go to YouTube and it may or may not work but it worked for me so I'm guessing it may work for you but anyway This app is great I use it all the time more then half my time on my iPad is on this app and without that stupid bug 🐜 it's a must have app so 5 stars every time and I've been using this app for around 8 years and not once been disappointed (besides that something went wrong 🐜) so yea

I think in a way I probably couldn't live without this app. I love YouTube so much, I watch so many videos and I love it how you can write comments and read through all the comments, and I love how it recommends stuff for you based on what you've already watched, and I love that you can follow people and have your own accounts and make your own videos and you can 'like' videos and...and...and....I don't know what to say! I just love it so much! I think it is really awesome how you can watch programmes that aren't on apps like Netflix or other things like that. It means if your favourite series goes off Netflix or something like that, you can still watch it on YouTube. Also, you can watch your friend's videos, and you can write comments underneath the videos which I like. The only thing is, I wish there was a way to still watch YouTube when offline, it is so annoying when there's no signal and YouTube won't work. Other than that, I am impressed!

Definitely a bug that you now can't scroll through playlists when adding to playlist, this can't be deliberate, as it renders the playlist function almost useless. The other thing that shows this is a bug is that if you add something to a playlist, that playlist will disappear from the available list on screen when you next try to add a video. Extraordinary that this hasn't been solved yet for such a mainstream app that is all about building playlists. Please fix the bug. Also there doesn't seem to be a way of scrolling back through viewing history any more, only a random limited number of videos displayed as 'continue watching'. Viewing history is such a fundamental feature of browsing. Really makes you wonder what the developers are thinking.

I like this app because you can learn things and just relax while lying in bed or on the go. YouTube can have a bad side of you tubers who are just straight up not kid friendly and will do any thing to get attention aka break or burn things. Clickbait This is a thing I and others have seen even though I like the idea I'm not sure on others. People use clickbait for views and subscribers and it works but sometimes it's took to far as people jumping of roofs when they aren't but they should know they are encouraging little kids to do very dangerous things. Photoshop We all know you tubers use photoshop but this gets worse. They can photoshop themselves doing very dangerous things for a thumbnail. Also they use it to stop people thinking they got hurt but they actually did So I do love YouTube and I give five stars but you tubers need to stop encouraging bad things. Btw I'm only 11 so if there is any spelling mistakes I'm sorry.

Last update(?) you made a big thing about the app opening when a link was clicked on. Now, after this update, I'm back to youtube opening in my browser. Annoying buffering and loss of connection showing far too often. All apps on iPad stay connected to wifi and internet but not YouTube. Have to close and open repeatedly until it latches back on the net then with low resolution.. all since two updates ago. A pity. Was good. Hope it is again soon.

YouTube is a great app and it's got many channels with millions of subscribers that we all love to watch. Besides from this, the app never has many BIG updates and the yell very minor and just a waste of data. Why do you keep breaking the app. Frequently when you update something breaks. This time it is the playlists. Unable to create a new playlist or scroll to playlist I want to add to. I don't understand what's happening with YouTube at the moment. It was working 3 Days ago but I went onto it yesterday and today to find out every video I try to watch it comes up with "Something went wrong, try again later". It goes to play then cuts to that. This YouTube app is absolutely rubbish. Every video I click takes a long time to load. Then once it starts playing the video itself appears pixelated for 30 seconds up to a whole minute before it finally becomes clear. Once it becomes clear it freezes. Then a notification that says "no conception appears" and trust me I have a really good wifi connection. I've put up with this for over 6 months. Every time I click on the app, I keep hoping the developers have fixed this issue by now. But nope. Never happens. I'm absolutely sick of this. The level of frustration i have for this app is indescribable. Google, YouTube the people who developed this, get your act together and fix the bug issues. Judging by the other reviews on this app, it's clear that it's not just me who is having this issue. And judging by how many bad reviews this app has I'm absolutely baffled by the fact you haven't even attempted to fix this issue yet. Honestly, Google whoever is in responsible for fixing issues like this clearly isn't doing their job. Get someone better for goodness sake. JUST FIX THIS DAMN APP.

First off I'd like to say this app is very good, they've changed a lot since the last "patch" and things are getting better, I would like to put something forward as if reviews ever get read, on IOS devices I tend to swipe up a lot during playback, be it to turn brightness up or down or to put on the flashlight whilst going downstairs and watching videos at night, however this presents a slight issue with the new drag up to see recommended videos, as it brings them up and often causes me to switch video whilst half way through the one I was already watching, which can be a bit of a pain to get back to, I also think the progress bar is too close or too small as it can be difficult to scroll through a video, once again often causing me to swipe up the recommended videos, (quick side note: this swipe up recommended videos addition isn't a good feature at all) I think the size of the progress bars ball at the end of the red bar should be larger so it's possible to actually scroll through a video, I've used the new version on my iPad and it's fine on there because everything's nicely sized for that but on an iPhone 7 Plus it's still a ball ache. I'd also mention that if you believe the swipe to show recommended videos whilst in full screen mode is a feature you'd like to keep then put it at the top so it's not in the way of anything. Overall it's a good app just needs some tweaking.

I really want to enjoy this app, but I don't know what you've done to it in this most recent update because it doesn't actually work anymore. Firstly, about two minutes into any video, the player turns pitch black and stops playing the video, but the sound keeps playing. The only way to solve the issue is to restart the video, which means I then have to fast forward to where I was, which leads me to my second issue; the video's time scroller is ridiculously sensitive. Whenever I try to skip to a certain point in the video (which is quite often due to the buggy player), it's impossible to skip to an exact point, the slider moves so suddenly that if you do scroll to the correct time, the slider will react to you taking your finger/thumb off of the slider and skip forward a minute or three. This means whenever I want to skip to a certain point in the video I have to skip to 30 seconds to a minute before that point, a huge waste of time. My third and biggest issue is that at any point in a video, whether it be halfway through or two minutes in, the video will believe it has finished, stop playing, and display the replay button. If I try to press the replay button or scroll through the video, the app crashes. Please, please fix these issues, it's turning a fun, ten minute video into half an hour of hassle and it pretty much renders the app useless.

I say this every time you update the app and the only reason I update it is because it fixes bugs and yet makes the app worse. The new comment bar is really annoying... Whenever I reply to a comment it comes up with 'error' so I click it a bunch of times and it still says the same thing and I refresh the video and it says I've sent it already and even once I've replied to a comment the comment bar still shows up, I click full screen on the videos and it - still on my screen, I click on another video and yet it's still on my screen. Also when I click on a video on full screen things like the wi-fi signal and time and battery percent shows up the video and I know it seems like little bu it's the little things of YT that makes me love it and you're probably not going to see this review because you guys probably don't seem to care what people think but please changes these. You probably think it's quite sad for me to right a review this long but that's because I've already wrote reviews and obviously you've paid no attention to them what so ever and it starting to annoy me and I'm sure other people to.

This is the worst update yet! Not only are you navigated to another page within the app when you want to see the replies to a comment, (if there's more than one reply), but worse still, you can't reply directly to someone who's replied as tagging has never worked from the app and there isn't a function to reply to a reply (sub comment)... The only option available is 'public reply' as a whole, which if you're directing your comment at one person is useless! Also, if there is only one reply it sits under the original comment in a way that makes it look like it's unrelated/another comment! It's so much harder to read and reply. The update as a whole was unnecessary and honestly ruined the app. In changing the comment section in such away it has taken away the flow and easy to read format and replaced it with something that not only lacks readability but has been stripped of many functions that were available before. I can't understand how you would all see this new look as an improvement, it seems like a predecessor, not a successor! Was 4 stars, now it's not even worth the minimum rating... I'm disappointed and wish I could go back to the last update! :( Google never listens to its users and needs to start doing so as judging by the reviews, I'm in a long line of unhappy users! Poor playback quality

I first noticed the lack of quality when I had my iPhone 4s but being due an upgrade in the near future I accepted it. My upgrade was the iPhone 5... Quality is just as poor on the 5. I contacted my provider and was asked to visit one of their stores. I did so and was told it was not the network and was actually shown up by a Samsung! We played the same video and the Samsung was clear! Both devices used our mobile provider.. We then switched to wifi and the this app allows to change quality settings. On wifi the quality is fine. Upon returning home I again contacted my provider.. Who transferred my call to apple. I was asked if the quality changed much between mobile to wifi which it does... The assistant advised that there should hardly be a difference between the 2 as iPhones are designed to play at highest quality. I was advised to remove the app and reinstall as there might be a glitch in firmware. I did this with no improvement. Apple have now advised that this is an app issue! I'm now using a 5s and it's the same poor quality. I still compare with other peoples devices and even other iPhones and quality is much the same as mine. I have since downloaded another app in order to achieve quality playback... Come on guys... Sort this out.. Disappointed!

Dear You Tube App developers, hopefully you realised by now why you have such an overwhelming negative review for your app and why everybody misses their old iphone app. Apart from all the issues mentioned, I would add a few crucial issues. 1.one of the most basic things is missing, a volume bar. What were you thinking to release the app without a volume bar on the screen?!?!? 2. We cannot create a favourite list within the app (as we had on the old iphone appo) without logging in a bloody Google account, if you don't have one, you need to create a bloody one. Please understand that nobody wants to have to do that in order to have a favourites list on their app, on their phone. 3. When you watch a video, if for any reason you need to leave the app for s while, when you return in the app, the video is gone, you need to start searching it again, find it, wait to buffer and so on. Please please do yourselves a favor and fix these basic issues and introduce these features that everybody loved on the old iphobe app. Every single person that I spoke to regret the fact that by upgrading to the new iOS, they've lost the old iphone app for you tube. Please fix these issues and the many others raised here, if you want to get people to love your app. Thank you.

I don't know if it's just me but whenever I go on the subscriptions tab at the side to see what channels have recently uploaded, it doesn't come up with anything apart from a note telling me that I don't have any subscriptions and to subscribe to channels to get updates. But I can also clearly see at the side that I am subscribed to over 30 channels and it still won't show me. I've tried refreshing it many times but it still shows me the note. I've tried signing out of my account and into another one and it's working fine on that one but I sign back into mine and it doesn't work. I've also tried unsubscribing from some channels then subscribing again and it still doesn't work. It only started happening today (Monday 27th October 2014) and it's been working fine all the time before that. I hope that they can fix this in another update or anything else but I just hope this gets fixed in the near future. I would give this a five because before this its been amazing and working brilliantly but because of this I'm going to have to give it a three. I hope this improves. Thank you for reading.

Sometimes when I'm watching a video on the app the video will just suddenly go to the beginning. The sound will carry on but the video will be replaying itself. It's very annoying and I have to close the video each time it does it so I often loose my place. It also has no sign or signal for when it happens it'll just be going along normally then suddenly repeat. Sometimes it may buffer a tiny bit but generally nothing happens before hand. Also whenever I go to a playlist and press the shuffle button it'll stop being shuffled when it gets to the second song so I have to keep turning it back on and it's very annoying. I've tried on different playlists and different ways of shuffling them but it'll switch Itself off afterwards. I've tried reinstalling the app and restarting my phone and still nothing. Hope you fix these problems soon. The not interested is a handy feature but I wish it would be further down in the list maybe 3rd after watch later and add to playlist because often I nearly accidentally click the not interested button when I'm trying to click something else.

Please please please just listen to your users and stop changing things and just go back to the old user interface. On iPad you can barely see any suggested videos as all of the thumbnails are far too big - go back to the old interface. Having the comments below the description means that you can't see the actual comments section when the keyboard comes up - go back to the old interface where they're on the right side of the screen. Half of the videos no longer play and are unavailable when previously they worked absolutely brilliant - go back to how it was before. You have to go back through all of your previous searches to get back to the home screen - golden rule of interface design, no more than 3 mouse clicks to reach the desired destination, go back to the old interface where you could automatically. I would give you other aspects to improve but I feel that I've made my point clear, you will make the majority of your users so much happier if you just stop trying to change things which don't need to be changed and just go back to the old user interface or at the very least actually listen to your users and realise that THEY ARE NOT HAPPY!

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. I have no issues whatsoever. I feel like video loading issues are your internet/memory problems not the apps as I have NO problems whatsoever. Sure, the 10 second skip thing is quite annoying when spamming 'skip ad' and it will sometimes skip but I find it very useful if I want to do something like reward ha short moment and mate pause it to see if I saw it right etc. I don't get any of the other problems. It would be nice if you could watch it while the app is minimised but I feel like that would only be really useful on an iPad because it would be very hard to see it in the corner of a phone/iPod screen. I honestly don't see what people are complaining about. I find the app user friendly and I experience no bugs. People complaining about bugs: it is on their part not the app's part that they are experiencing bugs. Overall, great app, love it, always have loved it!
Crashing after commenting

I am writing this review a minute after my 5-10 minute experience of constantly going to history and finding my wanted video to reply to comments/ make a new comment. Every time I try the app closes and I have to come back on, wait for it to refresh and retry. I've managed to comment on 2/3 videos I wanted to. On one of them it kept closing and I went back to check if my commenting worked and I had commented the same thing 5 times so I deleted 4. The other video I wanted to comment on worked on the 3rd try and on another one I have tried numerously and I give up because my opinion is not important enough to waste my time like this. I've tried pausing the video while typing and typing slower (I usually type very fast). I hope this issue can be fixed with the next update and I hope nobody else has to go through this as it is extremely annoying closing the whole app. I would give it one star as this is bringing the app down for me but I'm going to give it two as without this is would probably be 5 stars. It's a great app all around honestly. There's not much you can't do!
Ugly and unnecessary

When watching videos on the newest update, it is unsightly and irritating having the like/dislike/add to playlist buttons really large underneath the description box. It adds nothing to the look of the app and is totally pointless as I am still able to add things to playlists when I am watching a video full screen. Also having the subscribe button and channel name in the same place as the aforementioned takes away from the flow of the previous look. It looked much better when it was on the top of the suggested videos bar on the right hand side instead. In addition, the fact that when I scroll down to read comments and the subscription box/channel name does not disappear is irritating and unnecessary. I also get a bug sometimes when if I am watching a video full screen, it won't let me go back to half screen. I have to quit the app and then try again, even then sometimes it doesn't work. Tl;dr - Ugly and unnecessary moving these things, was fine before. I don't mind the ten second feature as I do not use it however, it is quite a good idea. Still bugs.
Some videos don't play

I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but when I go to watch particular videos they don't play. The real annoying thing is that the majority of videos I want to watch can't play, but videos I have no interest in do. To say the least, the recent updates have ruined my experience and have not added any further enjoyment. The developers of this app seem to think that we; as users of the app want constant changes to the layout, controls, notifications. Ironically, the best this app has ever been (in my opinion) is a couple of updates ago when it first came out. Ever heard of the phrase "less is more"? Take a page out of other developers creations; who manage to make a product, keep a consistent layout and don't add unnecessary features. Honestly, one update you added the 10 second skip feature, then the next update it was gone, and now it has made a return. The developers seem to love messing with the app; which in turn, messes with the people trying to use it. Please, add all the stuff you need then from there on just bring out bug fixes, that's all we need- an app that is reliable and not forever changing.

This app is great, it has a great interface, and can run any video in any quality depending on which quality the video was uploaded in (although 60fps is something I wish was here), although problems I've complained about before, are still present, the most prominent of these is playlist descriptions, which I still wish were here, but also, with the new update, many horrible problems have reared their heads, if you decide to skip forward or backwards on a video, regardless of quality or your internet connection, it may decide to freeze for a while, then tell you playback is unavailable, but simply tapping on the video will cause it to play again without a hitch, also, posting replies to comments will cause a test box that you cannot see to appear meaning you have to guess what you're writing, then when you post it, the comment will post but your device will kick you out of the app, annoying, fixes required please.
Improved most of the important features are fixed.

It's great and with a far improved comment system which actually allows replies to everything I'm no longer having to look like an idiot replying to the wrong person in a conversation. There's a few bugs overall which is why the full 5 stars isn't obtained, including videos not playing after tabbing out and reentering and some channels not loading with full signal and good internet speed. Update, the pop-up to discard a comment appear behind the keyboard, this makes it extremely difficult to simply discard a comment, combined with the fact even brushing your finger over anything but the comment box opens the pop up it has become extremely frustrating to write even a simple comment, if you fix the pop up and allow the app to be interacted with while commenting, like many other apps, maybe the commenting system will not be subpar and a higher rating that 3 could be achieved.
Please start fixing the bugs.....

Seriously guys, rather than updating the app just to make it look pretty and more user friendly, how about you fix some of the actual bugs and issues? One of the most irritating bugs I have come across is the fact ALL the comments on EVERY video (no matter how old they are) were apparently posted '0 seconds ago'. I find this extremely annoying when I want to reply to a comment, due to not knowing how long ago it was posted. As for one of the issues is that if you've searched for something and then searched for something else while on the results page of first search, you have to go back through all the search results of every search if you want to go back to the home screen, this takes forever if you've done a lot of searches.... In other words, there's no quick way to return back to the home page. I've even resorted to closing and reopening the app. So seriously, let's fix these things rather than making the app look nicer...

Ha ha aha hahahaha ahaaaa Hahahahaha f.....g great guys absolutely fantastic, brilliant, sheer quality, what a team I'm flabbergasted. 'I get it' you were going for the 'guess what theme look ?' brilliant I love the colour coordination especially how the writing blends in to the colour scheme and almost disappears Hahahahaha ingenious ! I also like how you've added a couple of puzzle games into the theme like 'guess what channel this is?' and 'guess the content of the video you are about to play' haha seriously ingenious! You have now made the app extremely efficient 'class', I can now get in and direct myself to the stream I want and get out extremely efficiently, no time wasted at all. The app is very intuitive and extremely well laid out, majority love change, especially if it keeps one conf..... I mean 'intrigued'. I would personally like to thank the team and if I was there with you we could all have a group hug n kiss and dance around our workstations holding hands. The best app developers in the world go on Google show them how it's done. Hahahahaha F.....g Bravo 👋🏽👋🏽👋🏽
2.6.0 is pointless

In the very recent 2.6.0 update, the app has only been downgraded. There was only two problems with the previous version of the app: 1. You couldn't reply to comments. 2. The pause button was too big. But why did the pause button have to go into the centre? Now when you want to pause it or see how far through the video you are the picture is darkened. Which means you may miss something. Thankfully, 2.6.0 has acted on this. You can now reply to comments and the pause has been made smaller however the downside of this new update is stupidly unbelievable. Now the app tends to crash quite a lot and the picture in videos will begin to jump on pretty much every video. Not the sound, just the picture. It has been this way for about over a month and the fact that one of the richest companies on the planet has not been able to fix it is deeply concerning. Sorely they can afford to go and buy an iPad 2 (which is what I'm using) and test their app and find ways to fix it if it has any problems.
Nice app. Quality not great. Needs Chromecast fix.

The app itself is well designed. The video quality could be better but it's certainly not poor. The greatest gripe I have is that the iPad is classed as a mobile device when trying to view desktop only videos. I don't find the iPad any more "mobile" than a laptop, which has access to desktop only videos and I just can't get my head around that one at all. However if that's how it has to be I think at least that if you are connected/ streaming to a Chromecast device which HAS to be plugged into a TV -which is certainly not a mobile device- you should be able to access desktop only videos because the iPad is technically no longer a "mobile" device when connected to a Chromecast. Other than that, a great app, certainly better than using the web version on iPad!

Well how can I start? First of all, stop changing layouts. The first one was the best in my opinion, and every time you change it it get more and more confusing to use. Second, I don't want a video playing in the background, cuz when I'm searching for a video I don't want something making it slow as hell. And what's with the minimising??? It's terrible. Don't try new things. I know you want to experiment and all, but this kinda thing doesn't help us as users. I don't want your fancy stuff. I want the old layout back. This is a disgraceful update google. Get it right. EDIT: As of 5 mins ago (when I wrote the initial review) I can't load anything because the "search while watching a video" thing won't let me reload the video. I have to load an entirely new video so I can reload. You are wasting my time google. I'm starting to lose my patience. Edit 2: Now the sound keeps cutting out. What is this google? Not a problem with my devices. All problems are to do with the app. Fix it google.

I don't know where to start. Google needs to rethink this from scratch, based on the highly usable previous version with a left sidebar nav. Awful fragmented UI and a total UX disaster and clearly I'm not alone thinking this. Getting to your watch later list takes far too much clicking. When traversing through different videos / channels there is no way to get back to a screen with the three main nav elements present (home, subs, my account) without passing the back button x amount of times. Try it, click a few videos, then follow a few links to channels - leaves you completely lost. How hard is it to add a home link to the top right nav to avoid being lost at sea? And for some explicable reason getting to comments requires endlessly scrolling down the right sidebar, does it not occur to Google that people may actually want to easily discuss videos? It's like being back to a time where UX was the least thought out part of an app's function. It's just awful. Zero stars.

Yes, Google, yes! Thank you so, so much for this new 10 sec skipping ability.. I, honestly, was dreaming about something similar for around 10 years.. the app is getting very close to being perfect. You recently added an ability to choose 1080 (would love to see ability to choose 4k one day) on a screens which "don't support" it and it was very much welcome, too. The last major thing for me is a lack of constant 1080p (or highest available) quality choice, because I hate with passion to choose it manually for every video (and yes, this "auto", unfortunately, is a fan of 720p, no matter how good my connection is). Please fix one last thing! Personally for me it deserves 5 stars already. Thank you, Google!

I've had this app on my iPod 4th gen ever since I got it and I've had next to no problems in the past. Only recently (maybe 2-3 months) has the bugs really started to annoy me. Firstly, whenever I go to rotate the screen to watch a video as a bigger picture, 9/10 times the app seems to crash. Now I don't know if its because my model is one of the oldest apple products you can get now, or whether its to do with something else, but it's just all round irritating. Secondly, if I go to watch a video off a playlist (whether it be my own or someone else's), the app, again, crashes. I don't know if this is due to what model I have, if it is I apologise for the rant, but if is down to bugs, I suggest you fix it. So finally, my opinion is that instead of adding unnecessary features (e.g. the date when the video was uploaded), you look at the complaints about bugs and get them sorted first!

I love this app, I use it almost everyday. I'm unsure as to why the new update has added the pause & play button in the middle? It was perfectly fine where it was and much easier. I do not like the button in the middle of the screen, it darkens the screen and is a nuisance. Say if I just wanted to see how long I had left of the video to watch I would click the screen and it would be fine but now it darkens the screen and that pops up! They should change it back quickly as it is stupid and I don't see why they changed it. It was fine the way it was. Other than that fine expect on the comments all of them say from 0 seconds ago and they're obviously not. Apart from that hugely annoying thing and the minor thing very good app x

Overall the app is brilliant, I can view the videos I want to watch, everything's in its place and the quality is good but lately I've encountered some issues that hopefully can be fixed. For starters a bug has occurred that means every comment says '0 seconds ago' which is annoying as I would actually like to see when the comment was posted. Not all of the videos I've subscribed to are coming up in my subscription box. I subscribe to many channels but the number of channels I'm subscribed to shouldn't have an effect. I've subscribed for a reason, to see their content and I would like it better if that reason was fulfilled. Also I've had to delete and re-download several times because the app crashes so much. Please change this, thank you :)

Utter shambles, it's feeling now at least once a week I've had to change the reason for this pitiful review, this is simply coming down to this: you want videos to load and stay loaded? You want to comment on a video and not have it wipe everything clean and close itself losing the video and your comment with it? You want a video watching application that still cares about making a quality product and haven't become big enough that they can just push out pathetic useless upgrades that diminish all the lies of capability in the advert's demonstrations to mere blocks of pixels for the few seconds it bothers to load your content before it shuts down again, and then you simply have to do it all again, don't forget though, they still get their little bit each time for each advert they force you with, THAT'S the only thing that can apparently load in any watchable quality, strangely enough don't you think, hmm?

The app's interface is pretty good, but the problem lies with the way the videos are handled. For some reason, when using this app, an iPhone 5 is unable to stream a video on wifi without almost immediately buffering, then dropping to a slightly lower quality. The quality also fairly regularly drops to a blurry mess which renders the video unwatchable. For some reason the app which used to come pre installed to iOS devices handled video delivery much better. Also, the app would be improved if users could manually select the quality at which videos play, which could contribute somewhat to solving the evident issues with the current automatic selection of video quality. I personally would like some way to view all of a channel's videos, but perhaps that's less of an issue for others.

It's a lot better than using safari, but it would be even better if there was a way to easily navigate the videos, like the J and L buttons on PC. When watching long videos (2 hours plus,) when I use my finger to go to a specific point, it skips forward / backward about 3 minutes when I let go of the screen because the touch screen is sensitive. It's very annoying. Also, if you could click time stamps that would be useful too. For example on a game OST video, all the tracks are listed with times, but I can't click them, meaning I have to scroll to them manually. But then the problem in the previous paragraph rises to the surface as OSTs are normally about 2 hours long. Enabling annotations would be great as well. Some videos I watch use annotation subtitles instead of closed captions.

I'm fairly happy with this. It has good screen quality and can go full screen, which is good because on the browser, you get full screen except for the other tabs open and the bar at the top. Drawbacks are there is still no play all function on the playlists, which is very annoying,because I usually put on my favourite music playlist to play while I'm doing chores, and listen to a different playlist when I am going to sleep. It's a pain to keep changing it manually and even more annoyingly, you have to go all the way back to the playlist to find a particular video from it. It's also irritating that you can't have it in the background while opening a different tab, as Steverob said, because similarly I often listen to music while cooking. So it's better but not that much better.
Constant buffering

It looks better than the old Apple app but has less features and the constant buffering is a real pain. Ignore these people here saying "it's your Internet connection" etc., it isn't. I'm running mine over super fast fibre optic wifi and it's constantly stopping. This was never a problem before. I live 2 miles from the phone exchange and have always had extremely fast broadband as a result. It was never a problem with the old app. I now either watch on my desktop computer or through Safari which seems to suffer none of the speed problems. This just gets worse. Wether over hi speed broadband of 4G (which I now have) I don't think I've ever watched a video all the way through without buffering. Didn't happen on the old app. Really ruins it. Just have to watch on my computer now or iPad (which I haven't updated yet thank God).

Wow Google. You took a perfectly awesome app layout design and ruined it. Why change something so majorly when people enjoy it. You can't force the layout on people saying we will have to get used to it especially since the stupid bubbles at the top don't even work properly 😤 they take forever to load (and we both know that shouldn't be the case) and if it takes so long to load I can't see the picture so I don't know who te subscriber is! It would be nice to get the names back too since not everyone in the world has identical memory to the Chanel makes they subscribe to. Not happy with this at all Google. Sometimes simplicity is the best way to go in design and you need to think about every type of users out there, yes older people also use youtube(shocker!) and I doubt they would be happy with a confusing layout that even young people can't get their head around.

I like this app a lot but the layout of the comments section was much easier to navigate before the update - I don't see the point of the large blank space under the description now the comments have moved and also having to scroll down past the recommended videos before seeing the comments is annoying and impractical. plus the replies to comments are hard to read because there doesn't seem to be any difference between an original comment and the reply apart from their photo being slightly smaller. other than the comments section I like how this app is set out! it would be great again if they returned to their normal position 👍🏻

Why! Before the update the app was good, no I'm not so sure. First of all no one in the world likes to see the recommended videos, we subscribe to channels for a reason so please don't force us to look at what you think we might enjoy, we probably have already seen it. Secondly we NEED quality control on videos, I am sick of getting half way through a video, watching in perfect hd quality, when all of a sudden the app decides to reduce the quality down to 8-bit level, it is so annoying and there is no way to get it back. And finally can we improve the comments please, just so we can see who is replying to who, and maybe get some sort of notification when someone is responding to out comments, please take this into consideration, I absolutely love the website and would love to see the app reflect the quality, thank you

First of all It doesn't seem to have multitasking support..? When I go out of the app and back in, whilst watching a video it loses all of the buffering and has to start again! Also the video quality will just suddenly sometimes turn unwatchable even though throughout the entire video I've been on wifi! (Even at the start of the video it's pretty bad but then gets better as the video goes on) as well, every time I watch a video, even though I'm connected to wifi throughout the whole video, the sound will be really bad quality but eventually it becomes good quality halfway through the video. Finally, the home feed is awful, even though I show uploads only it still doesn't show EVERYTHING, and half the time it'll be in the wrong order and say it was uploaded a day ago, but when I look on the website on a computer it says the same video was uploaded an hour ago?????

I can't quite understand why so many people hate the new app? It has more new additions that are taken from the web version such as reading comments, viewing suggestions whilst the video is playing instead of having to quit the video to read comments and then having to wait for the video to load again thus minimising my data usage. Overall the usability had been greatly improved and everything works great no bugs or crashes. BUT...My main concern though is that you can't play video/music in the background whilst doing other things on the phone. Apple should really start to open up its internal ecosystem to allow apps to be more integrated in to the iOS.

In every update you say that there are app improvements and bug fixes but there are these very persistent bugs that you seem unable to fix. 1. The app doesn't allow you to tap anything and it is stuck In the small screen when it should be cinematic. 2. The picture becomes really laggy and the sound is a few scenes ahead you are hearing things before you see them. 3. Some videos don't load at all but everything else does like the link and the description so you're just looking at a blank screen and a loading ring. But i do love you tube and I think this app has potential so I hope you guys fix all you're problems because when the app works properly it is really good in which case I would give it five stars

If I could give this no stars I would, but even Apple takes putty on you. Nobody asked you to change the app. It was perfectly fine. It was actually a pretty awesome design, very clear and very easy to use. I also loved the colour scheme. I forgave you for the rubbishy you guys have pulled time and time again. Now this. Where do I even begin? The bubbles are minuscule, when I get on someone's page I am forced to shut down the entire app to get off, the colour scheme is so very stupidly bright and the app icon's whit background is such a useless aspect. The one thing we ask you for, playback even when the app is in the background or the phone is locked, we can't get. Instead you subject us to this tomfoolery. There were no explanations as to how to use this horrid reboot, and at this point I don't even want one. I just want the old version back. CHANGE IS NOT ALWAYS GOOD GOOGLE, IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT
Fails in Comparison to Browser Version

This app is horrible to use on iPad, and there is no iPad replacement for the old one, so I'm forced to either use the browser, which can't be full screened, or put up with this app and it's stretched display, not to mention lack of landscape mode, which means I have to rotate the iPad to browse for a video and then put it back in landscape to watch it, which is a lot more trouble than it's worth if you are using it on a desk. There is also no Quality control option, so I need to use the browser if I want to force the streaming of 720 or 1080p footage. Most annoying part if having this installed is it diverts links that should be opened in Safari to this app, so I have quite happily uninstalled it. I can understand if Google are still reluctant to help/butthurt after Apple split away from them, but this app is entirely under Google's name, and it puts that name in a bad light

I use you tube a lot , but when it comes to the new update it's the worst app I have. The layout is too difficult to use on iPhone I can't even scroll/swipe left. I have subscribed to a lot of channels and I want to see the name of the channel not all of there recent uploads in my face when I load the app. And this is the part that really ticks me off when I was looking for the search bar I couldn't find it , so then I thought oh I know I'll search to see if anyone else has the same problem , but I can't even do that when I can't find the search bar that I'm trying to search about!!! Worst update yet please fix this quickly

Hello, a while back I filed a complaint about the clarity of videos and how it annoyed me, well I am glad you listened to my feedback and it is only now that I have had chance to say thanks to you. The new clarity changer has been brilliant and I would like to day a very well done. I love this app and I think that you have just made it better and better, although people will probably disagree with that, but I eventually got used to it very quickly, I know that I am a quick learner but I dot think that it's that bad so well done google, this app is one of the best if not the best. I hope that you continue to make it better and better with each update.

This update has made the app much more inconvenient & time consuming! In the previous update you had a side bar that would appear when you swipe right, this bar had everything you needed on it & you could access it anywhere in the app. In the update, this bar is completely missing & instead everything appears on the bottom of the screen, but these tabs are not available to access anywhere in the app, so for example if i want to go back to my subscriptions i have to go to the top of the page & click back numerous times to get back there which is very time consuming & tedious compared to the previous update were i just had to swipe. No real improvements, just made worse.

I'm trying to be fair, so here goes. I like this app, in that it is easy to view my subscriptions, comment, like, subscribe and find videos I want to watch, and it's easy to navigate. I like being able to drag the main video down into the corner while looking for something else, and to minimise the suggested videos and comments tabs. The problems I have with this app are as follows. First of all, being able to play music in the background was one of those great features that shouldn't have been taken back. Also, you can't "reply" to comments, only comment back, which can be a bit misleading. Please fix these issues because until these resolve I will have to keep using the mobile site for these functions.

First off, there is no need to change the layout so frequently. It seems that the look of the app gets a major change in every other update - what's wrong with just one layout? Secondly, it also seems that obvious (not necessarily major) bugs rarely get fixed, while minor, situation-dependent bugs do. Finally, would it kill you to actually give some information about what an update contains, so users can choose whether or not they want to update? Right now it only ever says "This update includes minor bug fixes and improvements" or similar, and the only way to find out what each update holds is to download it, but then if one doesn't like it, they have no choice to revert to a prior version. Just elaborate on what the update does is all I'm asking. Until then, I don't see why this deserves any more than one star.

Slowly becoming a great app. Getting the 'playback error tap to retry' message. Wish they could sort this out eventually. I get this problem often but is easily fixed be restarting the app. Can't you just implement this if you can't fix the bug? Thanks for giving me the ability to reply to comments although this still needs work. Commenting on a video with a small amount of comments is quite easy as you can find your comment to reply to, however replying in a video where there are many makes it almost impossible. You could spend hours just to find your comment. I wish the app could take you to the position of the comment instead of just to the page.

Since I downloaded the app a year ago... The number of times I have deleted and reinstalled the app has blown my mind....the problems ranged from the screen going black to playlist issues, video issues and many other ridiculous things!, nonetheless the app would be awesome if these problems were all fixed!!! I am reviewing this app a second time downgrading the two stars to one..... Mainly due to the fact that now, whenever I go to like a video, watch a Video or simply browse through the comments, the app will turn to a black screen and take me to the home screen on my iPod. It happens around one minute into using the app, so all I can say is you've made it lots worse than what it was a few weeks ago before this recent update. This now makes the app absolutely useless to me.

I mostly think the app is well and ergonomically designed, but there are few issues. Firstly when I'm scrolling through the comments it always says something was posted 0 seconds ago, it never shows when it was actually posted. This is also an issue when I use the website on my phone, though I don't do that very often, for obvious reasons. Another thing is that when I've watched a few videos in a row I end up having loads of tabs open, and to get back to the home screen I have to quit them all one by one, while it would be simpler to just have a back to home button. Apart from that, I love this app and use it all the time!

I would definitely have given this 5 stars if it weren't for the problems I have experienced! Firstly, the video keeps buffering, I have never watched an entire video without it buffering at least once. Then there's the 'playback error' message. This keeps appearing whenever I try to improve the quality. (also, improving the quality to even 720p takes AGES.) The app also occasionally crashes. And finally, it takes ages to load. I've just uninstalled the app and tried reinstalling it just now because, although I have perfect network connection, the app seems to not load and it says 'No network connection', even though when I go to settings, the wifi seems perfectly fine! It seems like after every update, the app gets worse! Please fix this!!

There are so many issues with this app! First, probably the biggest problem is that a lot of the time when you're watching a video, the audio will carry on playing but the visual of the video will jump back to the beginning, and the only way to fix it is to close the video and play it again from the beginning. This problem has lasted through many updates, so it seriously needs sorting out. Also, the controls on the videos are terribly glitchy, not showing up a lot of the time which can make things incredibly difficult. We also never receive notifications if someone we're subscribed to is doing a live stream, so I always miss them. I'm so close to just deleting this app and not using it anymore as it's way more trouble than it's worth.

Why. Why. Why I ask myself. Everything is just dreadful the subscribers are now on a separate page not on the Side and the icons for them Are tiny, so be ready for spamming your screen to try and click a tiny icon, oh and when you click on a subscriber it takes you to a separate page, so if you want to just scroll though you subscribers you have to do the painful process of clicking on one looking at the page and then Trying to press a tiny arrow and then Clicking the next one. Another thing, why are all the video icons so large it looks horrible??? This app both fails in function and aesthetics making it an unsuccessful app. Plus while watching a video you can't see you battery life on an islands pad mini. Please change it back before you make a bigger fool of yourselves.

I think that this is a great app and I myself have a YouTube channel but... on my phone the number of likes and dislikes does not appear next to the corresponding buttons. I don't know if this is a bug or deliberate but it is a little frustrating because I cannot see how many likes or dislikes my (or other people's) videos have. Nareknight

Since update I try to add a comment the app crashes and then won't open again until it is deleted and reinstalled. Try an add a comment again and the same thing happens. iPhone 7 plus 10.3.1.

The app is ok to use but will often get stuck on full screen when watching videos. Really irritating as you might have another video lined up or something but then have to close the app and resume the video you were watching. YouTube needs to get these basic yet experience ruining bugs fixed.

I love that I can watch whatever I want, on any subject, at anytime. But, I hate how glitchy the mobile version of youtube is. It kicks me off all the time, I have problems making playlists, problems with the watch later option! The suggested videos option shows videos I've already seen, and a whole host of content from other non English speaking countries. It's just so disappointing that I have all these issues ever day! Not to mention the avalanche of commercials we're all now forced to watch, unless you are in a YouTube red available country. FIX IT GOOGLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've loved the app for many years and when the update came out a few years ago totally redisigning the interface of youtube, I hated the look so much and still miss the old layout now. It's like you downgraded in looks. Another thing, for the past few days my recommendations have been awful. Videos that I've already seen always show up in my recommendations. And videos that I've removed from my recommended for "I'm not interested in this video" don't change my recommendations what so ever.

I can share the same account between my devices and I don't have any actual problem with the app! It does the job. The only thing I am stuck on is how to make my channel public. I'm only giving a 4⭐️ is because the settings are very confusing yet they could probably be made a lot more straight forward and easier to use.

It is a lot different and more big fixes so I like this much more than safari. I still need a few more updates. iPad (Recent Update)

Issues with the the recent update for iPad devices, when I add a video into my playlist it produces an odd bug which freezes the panel and I am unable to scroll and select my specific playlist. Does not seem to be a problem accessing the playlist on iPhone devices when adding video to a playlist as I am able to scroll into the various playlists, the iPad update seems to have broken this. Tested on a iPad Pro and iPad 2, both have the same issue with the most recent YouTube app update. --- New YouTube update has fixed my issues with the playlist when viewed on a iPad.

I'm not sure if this is my internet or the app because on my iPhone it won't load any video as it will show the thumbnail then say "something went wrong" and it's the same with the ads it shows the start then the video thumbnail then "something went wrong" is this just me??

I think in a way I probably couldn't live without this app. I love YouTube so much, I watch so many videos and I love it how you can write comments and read through all the comments, and I love how it recommends stuff for you based on what you've already watched, and I love that you can follow people and have your own accounts and make your own videos and you can 'like' videos and...and...and....I don't know what to say! I just love it so much! I think it is really awesome how you can watch programmes that aren't on apps like Netflix or other things like that. It means if your favourite series goes off Netflix or something like that, you can still watch it on YouTube. Also, you can watch your friend's videos, and you can write comments underneath the videos which I like. The only thing is, I wish there was a way to still watch YouTube when offline, it is so annoying when there's no signal and YouTube won't work. Other than that, I am impressed!

Definitely a bug that you now can't scroll through playlists when adding to playlist, this can't be deliberate, as it renders the playlist function almost useless. The other thing that shows this is a bug is that if you add something to a playlist, that playlist will disappear from the available list on screen when you next try to add a video. Extraordinary that this hasn't been solved yet for such a mainstream app that is all about building playlists. Please fix the bug. Also there doesn't seem to be a way of scrolling back through viewing history any more, only a random limited number of videos displayed as 'continue watching'. Viewing history is such a fundamental feature of browsing. Really makes you wonder what the developers are thinking.

I like this app because you can learn things and just relax while lying in bed or on the go. YouTube can have a bad side of you tubers who are just straight up not kid friendly and will do any thing to get attention aka break or burn things. Clickbait This is a thing I and others have seen even though I like the idea I'm not sure on others. People use clickbait for views and subscribers and it works but sometimes it's took to far as people jumping of roofs when they aren't but they should know they are encouraging little kids to do very dangerous things. Photoshop We all know you tubers use photoshop but this gets worse. They can photoshop themselves doing very dangerous things for a thumbnail. Also they use it to stop people thinking they got hurt but they actually did So I do love YouTube and I give five stars but you tubers need to stop encouraging bad things. Btw I'm only 11 so if there is any spelling mistakes I'm sorry.

Last update(?) you made a big thing about the app opening when a link was clicked on. Now, after this update, I'm back to youtube opening in my browser. Does this mean, in the next update, you'll be congratulating yourselves on fixing something that wasn't broken until you broke it by fixing something else that....argghhhh!!!!!

Annoying buffering and loss of connection showing far too often. All apps on iPad stay connected to wifi and internet but not YouTube. Have to close and open repeatedly until it latches back on the net then with low resolution.. all since two updates ago. A pity. Was good. Hope it is again soon.

YouTube is a great app and it's got many channels with millions of subscribers that we all love to watch. Besides from this, the app never has many BIG updates and the yell very minor and just a waste of data. Please start to fix all of the bugs and stop worrying so much about the layout because in the end, we all only care about the videos.

Why do you keep breaking the app. Frequently when you update something breaks. This time it is the playlists. Unable to create a new playlist or scroll to playlist I want to add to. I am using iPad Pro latest IOS. Lots of similar complaints here somI am know I am not the only one. This is basic stuff surely, developers stop being so complacent! Steve

I don't understand what's happening with YouTube at the moment. It was working 3 Days ago but I went onto it yesterday and today to find out every video I try to watch it comes up with "Something went wrong, try again later". It goes to play then cuts to that. I don't understand why but can you please fix it very soon

This YouTube app is absolutely rubbish. Every video I click takes a long time to load. Then once it starts playing the video itself appears pixelated for 30 seconds up to a whole minute before it finally becomes clear. Once it becomes clear it freezes. Then a notification that says "no conception appears" and trust me I have a really good wifi connection. I've put up with this for over 6 months. Every time I click on the app, I keep hoping the developers have fixed this issue by now. But nope. Never happens. I'm absolutely sick of this. The level of frustration i have for this app is indescribable. Google, YouTube the people who developed this, get your act together and fix the bug issues. Judging by the other reviews on this app, it's clear that it's not just me who is having this issue. And judging by how many bad reviews this app has I'm absolutely baffled by the fact you haven't even attempted to fix this issue yet. Honestly, Google whoever is in responsible for fixing issues like this clearly isn't doing their job. Get someone better for goodness sake. JUST FIX THIS DAMN APP.

First off I'd like to say this app is very good, they've changed a lot since the last "patch" and things are getting better, I would like to put something forward as if reviews ever get read, on IOS devices I tend to swipe up a lot during playback, be it to turn brightness up or down or to put on the flashlight whilst going downstairs and watching videos at night, however this presents a slight issue with the new drag up to see recommended videos, as it brings them up and often causes me to switch video whilst half way through the one I was already watching, which can be a bit of a pain to get back to, I also think the progress bar is too close or too small as it can be difficult to scroll through a video, once again often causing me to swipe up the recommended videos, (quick side note: this swipe up recommended videos addition isn't a good feature at all) I think the size of the progress bars ball at the end of the red bar should be larger so it's possible to actually scroll through a video, I've used the new version on my iPad and it's fine on there because everything's nicely sized for that but on an iPhone 7 Plus it's still a ball ache. I'd also mention that if you believe the swipe to show recommended videos whilst in full screen mode is a feature you'd like to keep then put it at the top so it's not in the way of anything. Overall it's a good app just needs some tweaking.

I really want to enjoy this app, but I don't know what you've done to it in this most recent update because it doesn't actually work anymore. Firstly, about two minutes into any video, the player turns pitch black and stops playing the video, but the sound keeps playing. The only way to solve the issue is to restart the video, which means I then have to fast forward to where I was, which leads me to my second issue; the video's time scroller is ridiculously sensitive. Whenever I try to skip to a certain point in the video (which is quite often due to the buggy player), it's impossible to skip to an exact point, the slider moves so suddenly that if you do scroll to the correct time, the slider will react to you taking your finger/thumb off of the slider and skip forward a minute or three. This means whenever I want to skip to a certain point in the video I have to skip to 30 seconds to a minute before that point, a huge waste of time. My third and biggest issue is that at any point in a video, whether it be halfway through or two minutes in, the video will believe it has finished, stop playing, and display the replay button. If I try to press the replay button or scroll through the video, the app crashes. Please, please fix these issues, it's turning a fun, ten minute video into half an hour of hassle and it pretty much renders the app useless.

I say this every time you update the app and the only reason I update it is because it fixes bugs and yet makes the app worse. The new comment bar is really annoying... Whenever I reply to a comment it comes up with 'error' so I click it a bunch of times and it still says the same thing and I refresh the video and it says I've sent it already and even once I've replied to a comment the comment bar still shows up, I click full screen on the videos and it - still on my screen, I click on another video and yet it's still on my screen. Also when I click on a video on full screen things like the wi-fi signal and time and battery percent shows up the video and I know it seems like little bu it's the little things of YT that makes me love it and you're probably not going to see this review because you guys probably don't seem to care what people think but please changes these. You probably think it's quite sad for me to right a review this long but that's because I've already wrote reviews and obviously you've paid no attention to them what so ever and it starting to annoy me and I'm sure other people to.

This is the worst update yet! Not only are you navigated to another page within the app when you want to see the replies to a comment, (if there's more than one reply), but worse still, you can't reply directly to someone who's replied as tagging has never worked from the app and there isn't a function to reply to a reply (sub comment)... The only option available is 'public reply' as a whole, which if you're directing your comment at one person is useless! Also, if there is only one reply it sits under the original comment in a way that makes it look like it's unrelated/another comment! It's so much harder to read and reply. The update as a whole was unnecessary and honestly ruined the app. In changing the comment section in such away it has taken away the flow and easy to read format and replaced it with something that not only lacks readability but has been stripped of many functions that were available before. I can't understand how you would all see this new look as an improvement, it seems like a predecessor, not a successor! Was 4 stars, now it's not even worth the minimum rating... I'm disappointed and wish I could go back to the last update! :( Google never listens to its users and needs to start doing so as judging by the reviews, I'm in a long line of unhappy users! Poor playback quality

I first noticed the lack of quality when I had my iPhone 4s but being due an upgrade in the near future I accepted it. My upgrade was the iPhone 5... Quality is just as poor on the 5. I contacted my provider and was asked to visit one of their stores. I did so and was told it was not the network and was actually shown up by a Samsung! We played the same video and the Samsung was clear! Both devices used our mobile provider.. We then switched to wifi and the this app allows to change quality settings. On wifi the quality is fine. Upon returning home I again contacted my provider.. Who transferred my call to apple. I was asked if the quality changed much between mobile to wifi which it does... The assistant advised that there should hardly be a difference between the 2 as iPhones are designed to play at highest quality. I was advised to remove the app and reinstall as there might be a glitch in firmware. I did this with no improvement. Apple have now advised that this is an app issue! I'm now using a 5s and it's the same poor quality. I still compare with other peoples devices and even other iPhones and quality is much the same as mine. I have since downloaded another app in order to achieve quality playback... Come on guys... Sort this out.. Disappointed!

Dear You Tube App developers, hopefully you realised by now why you have such an overwhelming negative review for your app and why everybody misses their old iphone app. Apart from all the issues mentioned, I would add a few crucial issues. 1.one of the most basic things is missing, a volume bar. What were you thinking to release the app without a volume bar on the screen?!?!? 2. We cannot create a favourite list within the app (as we had on the old iphone appo) without logging in a bloody Google account, if you don't have one, you need to create a bloody one. Please understand that nobody wants to have to do that in order to have a favourites list on their app, on their phone. 3. When you watch a video, if for any reason you need to leave the app for s while, when you return in the app, the video is gone, you need to start searching it again, find it, wait to buffer and so on. Please please do yourselves a favor and fix these basic issues and introduce these features that everybody loved on the old iphobe app. Every single person that I spoke to regret the fact that by upgrading to the new iOS, they've lost the old iphone app for you tube. Please fix these issues and the many others raised here, if you want to get people to love your app. Thank you.

I don't know if it's just me but whenever I go on the subscriptions tab at the side to see what channels have recently uploaded, it doesn't come up with anything apart from a note telling me that I don't have any subscriptions and to subscribe to channels to get updates. But I can also clearly see at the side that I am subscribed to over 30 channels and it still won't show me. I've tried refreshing it many times but it still shows me the note. I've tried signing out of my account and into another one and it's working fine on that one but I sign back into mine and it doesn't work. I've also tried unsubscribing from some channels then subscribing again and it still doesn't work. It only started happening today (Monday 27th October 2014) and it's been working fine all the time before that. I hope that they can fix this in another update or anything else but I just hope this gets fixed in the near future. I would give this a five because before this its been amazing and working brilliantly but because of this I'm going to have to give it a three. I hope this improves. Thank you for reading.

Sometimes when I'm watching a video on the app the video will just suddenly go to the beginning. The sound will carry on but the video will be replaying itself. It's very annoying and I have to close the video each time it does it so I often loose my place. It also has no sign or signal for when it happens it'll just be going along normally then suddenly repeat. Sometimes it may buffer a tiny bit but generally nothing happens before hand. Also whenever I go to a playlist and press the shuffle button it'll stop being shuffled when it gets to the second song so I have to keep turning it back on and it's very annoying. I've tried on different playlists and different ways of shuffling them but it'll switch Itself off afterwards. I've tried reinstalling the app and restarting my phone and still nothing. Hope you fix these problems soon. The not interested is a handy feature but I wish it would be further down in the list maybe 3rd after watch later and add to playlist because often I nearly accidentally click the not interested button when I'm trying to click something else.

Please please please just listen to your users and stop changing things and just go back to the old user interface. On iPad you can barely see any suggested videos as all of the thumbnails are far too big - go back to the old interface. Having the comments below the description means that you can't see the actual comments section when the keyboard comes up - go back to the old interface where they're on the right side of the screen. Half of the videos no longer play and are unavailable when previously they worked absolutely brilliant - go back to how it was before. You have to go back through all of your previous searches to get back to the home screen - golden rule of interface design, no more than 3 mouse clicks to reach the desired destination, go back to the old interface where you could automatically. I would give you other aspects to improve but I feel that I've made my point clear, you will make the majority of your users so much happier if you just stop trying to change things which don't need to be changed and just go back to the old user interface or at the very least actually listen to your users and realise that THEY ARE NOT HAPPY!

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. I have no issues whatsoever. I feel like video loading issues are your internet/memory problems not the apps as I have NO problems whatsoever. Sure, the 10 second skip thing is quite annoying when spamming 'skip ad' and it will sometimes skip but I find it very useful if I want to do something like reward ha short moment and mate pause it to see if I saw it right etc. I don't get any of the other problems. It would be nice if you could watch it while the app is minimised but I feel like that would only be really useful on an iPad because it would be very hard to see it in the corner of a phone/iPod screen. I honestly don't see what people are complaining about. I find the app user friendly and I experience no bugs. People complaining about bugs: it is on their part not the app's part that they are experiencing bugs. Overall, great app, love it, always have loved it!
Crashing after commenting

I am writing this review a minute after my 5-10 minute experience of constantly going to history and finding my wanted video to reply to comments/ make a new comment. Every time I try the app closes and I have to come back on, wait for it to refresh and retry. I've managed to comment on 2/3 videos I wanted to. On one of them it kept closing and I went back to check if my commenting worked and I had commented the same thing 5 times so I deleted 4. The other video I wanted to comment on worked on the 3rd try and on another one I have tried numerously and I give up because my opinion is not important enough to waste my time like this. I've tried pausing the video while typing and typing slower (I usually type very fast). I hope this issue can be fixed with the next update and I hope nobody else has to go through this as it is extremely annoying closing the whole app. I would give it one star as this is bringing the app down for me but I'm going to give it two as without this is would probably be 5 stars. It's a great app all around honestly. There's not much you can't do!
Ugly and unnecessary

When watching videos on the newest update, it is unsightly and irritating having the like/dislike/add to playlist buttons really large underneath the description box. It adds nothing to the look of the app and is totally pointless as I am still able to add things to playlists when I am watching a video full screen. Also having the subscribe button and channel name in the same place as the aforementioned takes away from the flow of the previous look. It looked much better when it was on the top of the suggested videos bar on the right hand side instead. In addition, the fact that when I scroll down to read comments and the subscription box/channel name does not disappear is irritating and unnecessary. I also get a bug sometimes when if I am watching a video full screen, it won't let me go back to half screen. I have to quit the app and then try again, even then sometimes it doesn't work. Tl;dr - Ugly and unnecessary moving these things, was fine before. I don't mind the ten second feature as I do not use it however, it is quite a good idea. Still bugs.
Some videos don't play

I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but when I go to watch particular videos they don't play. The real annoying thing is that the majority of videos I want to watch can't play, but videos I have no interest in do. To say the least, the recent updates have ruined my experience and have not added any further enjoyment. The developers of this app seem to think that we; as users of the app want constant changes to the layout, controls, notifications. Ironically, the best this app has ever been (in my opinion) is a couple of updates ago when it first came out. Ever heard of the phrase "less is more"? Take a page out of other developers creations; who manage to make a product, keep a consistent layout and don't add unnecessary features. Honestly, one update you added the 10 second skip feature, then the next update it was gone, and now it has made a return. The developers seem to love messing with the app; which in turn, messes with the people trying to use it. Please, add all the stuff you need then from there on just bring out bug fixes, that's all we need- an app that is reliable and not forever changing.

This app is great, it has a great interface, and can run any video in any quality depending on which quality the video was uploaded in (although 60fps is something I wish was here), although problems I've complained about before, are still present, the most prominent of these is playlist descriptions, which I still wish were here, but also, with the new update, many horrible problems have reared their heads, if you decide to skip forward or backwards on a video, regardless of quality or your internet connection, it may decide to freeze for a while, then tell you playback is unavailable, but simply tapping on the video will cause it to play again without a hitch, also, posting replies to comments will cause a test box that you cannot see to appear meaning you have to guess what you're writing, then when you post it, the comment will post but your device will kick you out of the app, annoying, fixes required please.
Improved most of the important features are fixed.

It's great and with a far improved comment system which actually allows replies to everything I'm no longer having to look like an idiot replying to the wrong person in a conversation. There's a few bugs overall which is why the full 5 stars isn't obtained, including videos not playing after tabbing out and reentering and some channels not loading with full signal and good internet speed. Update, the pop-up to discard a comment appear behind the keyboard, this makes it extremely difficult to simply discard a comment, combined with the fact even brushing your finger over anything but the comment box opens the pop up it has become extremely frustrating to write even a simple comment, if you fix the pop up and allow the app to be interacted with while commenting, like many other apps, maybe the commenting system will not be subpar and a higher rating that 3 could be achieved.

Seriously guys, rather than updating the app just to make it look pretty and more user friendly, how about you fix some of the actual bugs and issues? One of the most irritating bugs I have come across is the fact ALL the comments on EVERY video (no matter how old they are) were apparently posted '0 seconds ago'. I find this extremely annoying when I want to reply to a comment, due to not knowing how long ago it was posted. As for one of the issues is that if you've searched for something and then searched for something else while on the results page of first search, you have to go back through all the search results of every search if you want to go back to the home screen, this takes forever if you've done a lot of searches.... In other words, there's no quick way to return back to the home page. I've even resorted to closing and reopening the app. So seriously, let's fix these things rather than making the app look nicer...

Ha ha aha hahahaha ahaaaa Hahahahaha f.....g great guys absolutely fantastic, brilliant, sheer quality, what a team I'm flabbergasted. 'I get it' you were going for the 'guess what theme look ?' brilliant I love the colour coordination especially how the writing blends in to the colour scheme and almost disappears Hahahahaha ingenious ! I also like how you've added a couple of puzzle games into the theme like 'guess what channel this is?' and 'guess the content of the video you are about to play' haha seriously ingenious! You have now made the app extremely efficient 'class', I can now get in and direct myself to the stream I want and get out extremely efficiently, no time wasted at all. The app is very intuitive and extremely well laid out, majority love change, especially if it keeps one conf..... I mean 'intrigued'. I would personally like to thank the team and if I was there with you we could all have a group hug n kiss and dance around our workstations holding hands. The best app developers in the world go on Google show them how it's done. Hahahahaha F.....g Bravo 👋🏽👋🏽👋🏽

In the very recent 2.6.0 update, the app has only been downgraded. There was only two problems with the previous version of the app: 1. You couldn't reply to comments. 2. The pause button was too big. But why did the pause button have to go into the centre? Now when you want to pause it or see how far through the video you are the picture is darkened. Which means you may miss something. Thankfully, 2.6.0 has acted on this. You can now reply to comments and the pause has been made smaller however the downside of this new update is stupidly unbelievable. Now the app tends to crash quite a lot and the picture in videos will begin to jump on pretty much every video. Not the sound, just the picture. It has been this way for about over a month and the fact that one of the richest companies on the planet has not been able to fix it is deeply concerning. Sorely they can afford to go and buy an iPad 2 (which is what I'm using) and test their app and find ways to fix it if it has any problems.
Nice app. Quality not great. Needs Chromecast fix.

The app itself is well designed. The video quality could be better but it's certainly not poor. The greatest gripe I have is that the iPad is classed as a mobile device when trying to view desktop only videos. I don't find the iPad any more "mobile" than a laptop, which has access to desktop only videos and I just can't get my head around that one at all. However if that's how it has to be I think at least that if you are connected/ streaming to a Chromecast device which HAS to be plugged into a TV -which is certainly not a mobile device- you should be able to access desktop only videos because the iPad is technically no longer a "mobile" device when connected to a Chromecast. Other than that, a great app, certainly better than using the web version on iPad!

Well how can I start? First of all, stop changing layouts. The first one was the best in my opinion, and every time you change it it get more and more confusing to use. Second, I don't want a video playing in the background, cuz when I'm searching for a video I don't want something making it slow as hell. And what's with the minimising??? It's terrible. Don't try new things. I know you want to experiment and all, but this kinda thing doesn't help us as users. I don't want your fancy stuff. I want the old layout back. This is a disgraceful update google. Get it right. EDIT: As of 5 mins ago (when I wrote the initial review) I can't load anything because the "search while watching a video" thing won't let me reload the video. I have to load an entirely new video so I can reload. You are wasting my time google. I'm starting to lose my patience. Edit 2: Now the sound keeps cutting out. What is this google? Not a problem with my devices. All problems are to do with the app. Fix it google.

I don't know where to start. Google needs to rethink this from scratch, based on the highly usable previous version with a left sidebar nav. Awful fragmented UI and a total UX disaster and clearly I'm not alone thinking this. Getting to your watch later list takes far too much clicking. When traversing through different videos / channels there is no way to get back to a screen with the three main nav elements present (home, subs, my account) without passing the back button x amount of times. Try it, click a few videos, then follow a few links to channels - leaves you completely lost. How hard is it to add a home link to the top right nav to avoid being lost at sea? And for some explicable reason getting to comments requires endlessly scrolling down the right sidebar, does it not occur to Google that people may actually want to easily discuss videos? It's like being back to a time where UX was the least thought out part of an app's function. It's just awful. Zero stars.

Yes, Google, yes! Thank you so, so much for this new 10 sec skipping ability.. I, honestly, was dreaming about something similar for around 10 years.. the app is getting very close to being perfect. You recently added an ability to choose 1080 (would love to see ability to choose 4k one day) on a screens which "don't support" it and it was very much welcome, too. The last major thing for me is a lack of constant 1080p (or highest available) quality choice, because I hate with passion to choose it manually for every video (and yes, this "auto", unfortunately, is a fan of 720p, no matter how good my connection is). Please fix one last thing! Personally for me it deserves 5 stars already. Thank you, Google!

I've had this app on my iPod 4th gen ever since I got it and I've had next to no problems in the past. Only recently (maybe 2-3 months) has the bugs really started to annoy me. Firstly, whenever I go to rotate the screen to watch a video as a bigger picture, 9/10 times the app seems to crash. Now I don't know if its because my model is one of the oldest apple products you can get now, or whether its to do with something else, but it's just all round irritating. Secondly, if I go to watch a video off a playlist (whether it be my own or someone else's), the app, again, crashes. I don't know if this is due to what model I have, if it is I apologise for the rant, but if is down to bugs, I suggest you fix it. So finally, my opinion is that instead of adding unnecessary features (e.g. the date when the video was uploaded), you look at the complaints about bugs and get them sorted first!

I love this app, I use it almost everyday. I'm unsure as to why the new update has added the pause & play button in the middle? It was perfectly fine where it was and much easier. I do not like the button in the middle of the screen, it darkens the screen and is a nuisance. Say if I just wanted to see how long I had left of the video to watch I would click the screen and it would be fine but now it darkens the screen and that pops up! They should change it back quickly as it is stupid and I don't see why they changed it. It was fine the way it was. Other than that fine expect on the comments all of them say from 0 seconds ago and they're obviously not. Apart from that hugely annoying thing and the minor thing very good app x

Overall the app is brilliant, I can view the videos I want to watch, everything's in its place and the quality is good but lately I've encountered some issues that hopefully can be fixed. For starters a bug has occurred that means every comment says '0 seconds ago' which is annoying as I would actually like to see when the comment was posted. Not all of the videos I've subscribed to are coming up in my subscription box. I subscribe to many channels but the number of channels I'm subscribed to shouldn't have an effect. I've subscribed for a reason, to see their content and I would like it better if that reason was fulfilled. Also I've had to delete and re-download several times because the app crashes so much. Please change this, thank you :)

Utter shambles, it's feeling now at least once a week I've had to change the reason for this pitiful review, this is simply coming down to this: you want videos to load and stay loaded? You want to comment on a video and not have it wipe everything clean and close itself losing the video and your comment with it? You want a video watching application that still cares about making a quality product and haven't become big enough that they can just push out pathetic useless upgrades that diminish all the lies of capability in the advert's demonstrations to mere blocks of pixels for the few seconds it bothers to load your content before it shuts down again, and then you simply have to do it all again, don't forget though, they still get their little bit each time for each advert they force you with, THAT'S the only thing that can apparently load in any watchable quality, strangely enough don't you think, hmm?

The app's interface is pretty good, but the problem lies with the way the videos are handled. For some reason, when using this app, an iPhone 5 is unable to stream a video on wifi without almost immediately buffering, then dropping to a slightly lower quality. The quality also fairly regularly drops to a blurry mess which renders the video unwatchable. For some reason the app which used to come pre installed to iOS devices handled video delivery much better. Also, the app would be improved if users could manually select the quality at which videos play, which could contribute somewhat to solving the evident issues with the current automatic selection of video quality. I personally would like some way to view all of a channel's videos, but perhaps that's less of an issue for others.

It's a lot better than using safari, but it would be even better if there was a way to easily navigate the videos, like the J and L buttons on PC. When watching long videos (2 hours plus,) when I use my finger to go to a specific point, it skips forward / backward about 3 minutes when I let go of the screen because the touch screen is sensitive. It's very annoying. Also, if you could click time stamps that would be useful too. For example on a game OST video, all the tracks are listed with times, but I can't click them, meaning I have to scroll to them manually. But then the problem in the previous paragraph rises to the surface as OSTs are normally about 2 hours long. Enabling annotations would be great as well. Some videos I watch use annotation subtitles instead of closed captions.

I'm fairly happy with this. It has good screen quality and can go full screen, which is good because on the browser, you get full screen except for the other tabs open and the bar at the top. Drawbacks are there is still no play all function on the playlists, which is very annoying,because I usually put on my favourite music playlist to play while I'm doing chores, and listen to a different playlist when I am going to sleep. It's a pain to keep changing it manually and even more annoyingly, you have to go all the way back to the playlist to find a particular video from it. It's also irritating that you can't have it in the background while opening a different tab, as Steverob said, because similarly I often listen to music while cooking. So it's better but not that much better.
Constant buffering

It looks better than the old Apple app but has less features and the constant buffering is a real pain. Ignore these people here saying "it's your Internet connection" etc., it isn't. I'm running mine over super fast fibre optic wifi and it's constantly stopping. This was never a problem before. I live 2 miles from the phone exchange and have always had extremely fast broadband as a result. It was never a problem with the old app. I now either watch on my desktop computer or through Safari which seems to suffer none of the speed problems. This just gets worse. Wether over hi speed broadband of 4G (which I now have) I don't think I've ever watched a video all the way through without buffering. Didn't happen on the old app. Really ruins it. Just have to watch on my computer now or iPad (which I haven't updated yet thank God).

Wow Google. You took a perfectly awesome app layout design and ruined it. Why change something so majorly when people enjoy it. You can't force the layout on people saying we will have to get used to it especially since the stupid bubbles at the top don't even work properly 😤 they take forever to load (and we both know that shouldn't be the case) and if it takes so long to load I can't see the picture so I don't know who te subscriber is! It would be nice to get the names back too since not everyone in the world has identical memory to the Chanel makes they subscribe to. Not happy with this at all Google. Sometimes simplicity is the best way to go in design and you need to think about every type of users out there, yes older people also use youtube(shocker!) and I doubt they would be happy with a confusing layout that even young people can't get their head around.

I like this app a lot but the layout of the comments section was much easier to navigate before the update - I don't see the point of the large blank space under the description now the comments have moved and also having to scroll down past the recommended videos before seeing the comments is annoying and impractical. plus the replies to comments are hard to read because there doesn't seem to be any difference between an original comment and the reply apart from their photo being slightly smaller. other than the comments section I like how this app is set out! it would be great again if they returned to their normal position 👍🏻

Why! Before the update the app was good, no I'm not so sure. First of all no one in the world likes to see the recommended videos, we subscribe to channels for a reason so please don't force us to look at what you think we might enjoy, we probably have already seen it. Secondly we NEED quality control on videos, I am sick of getting half way through a video, watching in perfect hd quality, when all of a sudden the app decides to reduce the quality down to 8-bit level, it is so annoying and there is no way to get it back. And finally can we improve the comments please, just so we can see who is replying to who, and maybe get some sort of notification when someone is responding to out comments, please take this into consideration, I absolutely love the website and would love to see the app reflect the quality, thank you

First of all It doesn't seem to have multitasking support..? When I go out of the app and back in, whilst watching a video it loses all of the buffering and has to start again! Also the video quality will just suddenly sometimes turn unwatchable even though throughout the entire video I've been on wifi! (Even at the start of the video it's pretty bad but then gets better as the video goes on) as well, every time I watch a video, even though I'm connected to wifi throughout the whole video, the sound will be really bad quality but eventually it becomes good quality halfway through the video. Finally, the home feed is awful, even though I show uploads only it still doesn't show EVERYTHING, and half the time it'll be in the wrong order and say it was uploaded a day ago, but when I look on the website on a computer it says the same video was uploaded an hour ago?????

I can't quite understand why so many people hate the new app? It has more new additions that are taken from the web version such as reading comments, viewing suggestions whilst the video is playing instead of having to quit the video to read comments and then having to wait for the video to load again thus minimising my data usage. Overall the usability had been greatly improved and everything works great no bugs or crashes. BUT...My main concern though is that you can't play video/music in the background whilst doing other things on the phone. Apple should really start to open up its internal ecosystem to allow apps to be more integrated in to the iOS.

In every update you say that there are app improvements and bug fixes but there are these very persistent bugs that you seem unable to fix. 1. The app doesn't allow you to tap anything and it is stuck In the small screen when it should be cinematic. 2. The picture becomes really laggy and the sound is a few scenes ahead you are hearing things before you see them. 3. Some videos don't load at all but everything else does like the link and the description so you're just looking at a blank screen and a loading ring. But i do love you tube and I think this app has potential so I hope you guys fix all you're problems because when the app works properly it is really good in which case I would give it five stars

If I could give this no stars I would, but even Apple takes putty on you. Nobody asked you to change the app. It was perfectly fine. It was actually a pretty awesome design, very clear and very easy to use. I also loved the colour scheme. I forgave you for the rubbishy you guys have pulled time and time again. Now this. Where do I even begin? The bubbles are minuscule, when I get on someone's page I am forced to shut down the entire app to get off, the colour scheme is so very stupidly bright and the app icon's whit background is such a useless aspect. The one thing we ask you for, playback even when the app is in the background or the phone is locked, we can't get. Instead you subject us to this tomfoolery. There were no explanations as to how to use this horrid reboot, and at this point I don't even want one. I just want the old version back. CHANGE IS NOT ALWAYS GOOD GOOGLE, IF IT AIN'T BROKE DON'T FIX IT
Fails in Comparison to Browser Version

This app is horrible to use on iPad, and there is no iPad replacement for the old one, so I'm forced to either use the browser, which can't be full screened, or put up with this app and it's stretched display, not to mention lack of landscape mode, which means I have to rotate the iPad to browse for a video and then put it back in landscape to watch it, which is a lot more trouble than it's worth if you are using it on a desk. There is also no Quality control option, so I need to use the browser if I want to force the streaming of 720 or 1080p footage. Most annoying part if having this installed is it diverts links that should be opened in Safari to this app, so I have quite happily uninstalled it. I can understand if Google are still reluctant to help/butthurt after Apple split away from them, but this app is entirely under Google's name, and it puts that name in a bad light
Search bar hello??

I use you tube a lot , but when it comes to the new update it's the worst app I have. The layout is too difficult to use on iPhone I can't even scroll/swipe left. I have subscribed to a lot of channels and I want to see the name of the channel not all of there recent uploads in my face when I load the app. And this is the part that really ticks me off when I was looking for the search bar I couldn't find it , so then I thought oh I know I'll search to see if anyone else has the same problem , but I can't even do that when I can't find the search bar that I'm trying to search about!!! Worst update yet please fix this quickly

Hello, a while back I filed a complaint about the clarity of videos and how it annoyed me, well I am glad you listened to my feedback and it is only now that I have had chance to say thanks to you. The new clarity changer has been brilliant and I would like to day a very well done. I love this app and I think that you have just made it better and better, although people will probably disagree with that, but I eventually got used to it very quickly, I know that I am a quick learner but I dot think that it's that bad so well done google, this app is one of the best if not the best. I hope that you continue to make it better and better with each update.

This update has made the app much more inconvenient & time consuming! In the previous update you had a side bar that would appear when you swipe right, this bar had everything you needed on it & you could access it anywhere in the app. In the update, this bar is completely missing & instead everything appears on the bottom of the screen, but these tabs are not available to access anywhere in the app, so for example if i want to go back to my subscriptions i have to go to the top of the page & click back numerous times to get back there which is very time consuming & tedious compared to the previous update were i just had to swipe. No real improvements, just made worse.

I'm trying to be fair, so here goes. I like this app, in that it is easy to view my subscriptions, comment, like, subscribe and find videos I want to watch, and it's easy to navigate. I like being able to drag the main video down into the corner while looking for something else, and to minimise the suggested videos and comments tabs. The problems I have with this app are as follows. First of all, being able to play music in the background was one of those great features that shouldn't have been taken back. Also, you can't "reply" to comments, only comment back, which can be a bit misleading. Please fix these issues because until these resolve I will have to keep using the mobile site for these functions.
Bug Fixes and "Improvements"

First off, there is no need to change the layout so frequently. It seems that the look of the app gets a major change in every other update - what's wrong with just one layout? Secondly, it also seems that obvious (not necessarily major) bugs rarely get fixed, while minor, situation-dependent bugs do. Finally, would it kill you to actually give some information about what an update contains, so users can choose whether or not they want to update? Right now it only ever says "This update includes minor bug fixes and improvements" or similar, and the only way to find out what each update holds is to download it, but then if one doesn't like it, they have no choice to revert to a prior version. Just elaborate on what the update does is all I'm asking. Until then, I don't see why this deserves any more than one star.

Slowly becoming a great app. Getting the 'playback error tap to retry' message. Wish they could sort this out eventually. I get this problem often but is easily fixed be restarting the app. Can't you just implement this if you can't fix the bug? Thanks for giving me the ability to reply to comments although this still needs work. Commenting on a video with a small amount of comments is quite easy as you can find your comment to reply to, however replying in a video where there are many makes it almost impossible. You could spend hours just to find your comment. I wish the app could take you to the position of the comment instead of just to the page.

Since I downloaded the app a year ago... The number of times I have deleted and reinstalled the app has blown my mind....the problems ranged from the screen going black to playlist issues, video issues and many other ridiculous things!, nonetheless the app would be awesome if these problems were all fixed!!! I am reviewing this app a second time downgrading the two stars to one..... Mainly due to the fact that now, whenever I go to like a video, watch a Video or simply browse through the comments, the app will turn to a black screen and take me to the home screen on my iPod. It happens around one minute into using the app, so all I can say is you've made it lots worse than what it was a few weeks ago before this recent update. This now makes the app absolutely useless to me.

I mostly think the app is well and ergonomically designed, but there are few issues. Firstly when I'm scrolling through the comments it always says something was posted 0 seconds ago, it never shows when it was actually posted. This is also an issue when I use the website on my phone, though I don't do that very often, for obvious reasons. Another thing is that when I've watched a few videos in a row I end up having loads of tabs open, and to get back to the home screen I have to quit them all one by one, while it would be simpler to just have a back to home button. Apart from that, I love this app and use it all the time!
Not the best app ever

I would definitely have given this 5 stars if it weren't for the problems I have experienced! Firstly, the video keeps buffering, I have never watched an entire video without it buffering at least once. Then there's the 'playback error' message. This keeps appearing whenever I try to improve the quality. (also, improving the quality to even 720p takes AGES.) The app also occasionally crashes. And finally, it takes ages to load. I've just uninstalled the app and tried reinstalling it just now because, although I have perfect network connection, the app seems to not load and it says 'No network connection', even though when I go to settings, the wifi seems perfectly fine! It seems like after every update, the app gets worse! Please fix this!!

There are so many issues with this app! First, probably the biggest problem is that a lot of the time when you're watching a video, the audio will carry on playing but the visual of the video will jump back to the beginning, and the only way to fix it is to close the video and play it again from the beginning. This problem has lasted through many updates, so it seriously needs sorting out. Also, the controls on the videos are terribly glitchy, not showing up a lot of the time which can make things incredibly difficult. We also never receive notifications if someone we're subscribed to is doing a live stream, so I always miss them. I'm so close to just deleting this app and not using it anymore as it's way more trouble than it's worth.

Why. Why. Why I ask myself. Everything is just dreadful the subscribers are now on a separate page not on the Side and the icons for them Are tiny, so be ready for spamming your screen to try and click a tiny icon, oh and when you click on a subscriber it takes you to a separate page, so if you want to just scroll though you subscribers you have to do the painful process of clicking on one looking at the page and then Trying to press a tiny arrow and then Clicking the next one. Another thing, why are all the video icons so large it looks horrible??? This app both fails in function and aesthetics making it an unsuccessful app. Plus while watching a video you can't see you battery life on an islands pad mini. Please change it back before you make a bigger fool of yourselves.
