Too pushy
by JimConnolly on 2019/05/19 10:29
In Twitter’s push to increase user engagement, the app now ‘pushes’ unwanted, zero value tweets to the top of the timeline. These are from people you don’t follow. Poor algorithm development means those I see are 100% unsuitable. Hard to rate the app above 1 star, when it’s a source of frustration and a barrier to connecting with those I actually follow.

Censorship
by Andres Brabeck on 2019/05/18 17:30
You censored many people I was following. That reduced the value of Twitter to me. Of course you can do as you like as a private company. I hope some non censored competition comes up though.

Twitter Review
by Prince O Scanlin on 2019/05/17 19:50
Sharing content link has been phenomenal and it does catches attention on Twitter and spread suddenly especially getting significant traffic who May have never visited the site before. To build up a Twitter audience that value editorial judgement which in turn help you when you have something of your own to share . Twitter is not just about the actual value of the content. It’s also about weather the content gets viewed and appreciated in the first place. On average the first thing to keep in mind is that a headline is a promise.

Life on Twitter
by Leaverslone on 2019/05/17 11:10
The most wonderful invention ever in my opinion. How else can you speak openly to members of the Royal Family, Presidents, The Pope, celebrities or someone upstairs in an instant? The news is faster than any tv and calls for help are out in seconds. I’d like everyone to have the opportunity to be verified even with a fee to rid the fake accounts and reassure ourselves that we are speaking to the real person. Please consider this. Remove all bullies from having accounts and keep to high ethical standards. Given all the above Twitter should be one of the largest global companies in the world and a financial success for all. #ILoveTwitter
Disgusting customer service
by hhobson on 2019/05/17 06:40
I went to put my date of birth on my account, after being a loyal and responsible user of twitter for almost 10 years, and it has locked me out permanently. They say this is due to me being under 13 when I first joined, however I’m 21 now, it’s absolutely ridiculous! I have sent my mothers ID, my ID and my birth certificate all proving I am of age, but nothing is being done! I refuse to create a new account and rejoin this appalling network. It says I can appeal this decision but ever time I click the link it says sorry your account has been locked. As a large social media site you would have though they have competent employees that can create a system which makes this a lot easier to get around.

Absolutely loved this app until just recently when, for some unknown reason, Twitter decided to make so that all locked accounts tweets show up as “Tweet unavailable”. Before this you just couldn’t see what was said but now there is some ugly box with the text “Tweet Unavailable”. My Twitter feed is full of this now and it’s really frustrating!

Twitter is a god tier social media app. The banter is top notch and I love it. Everyone on twitter is all about having a laugh which is great to see. Here’s how it compares to other social media’s: (In my opinion) Twitter: 10/10 Facebook 8/10 Instagram: 7/10 Snapchat: 5/10 If you’re a person who enjoys laugh twitter is for you.

Choice

Great idea, but too much tinkering and interference by Twitter techies
by Marklawrence33 on 2019/05/11 07:55
I choose who to follow, who to block etc. I have no problem at all with adverts as I can weed out inappropriate companies, and I get a free service from Twitter. That's all I need. What I DON'T need is Twitter programmers constantly trying to "improve my experience" for me by repeatedly re-setting my desktop account so it shows me trends/what it thinks are great tweets instead of a chronological timeline. (Yes, I know a timeline is chronological by definition, but Twitter staff appear to think differently.). Also, too much stuff going on down the sidebars. Hey Twitter: keep it simple, stand back and let us use the great thing you invented. Spend less time tinkering with the front-end, and way more time policing the legions of obnoxious folk who leave such ghastly, personal abuse for others hiding under the cloak of anonymity.

Staying on top!!!
by BowlerHatGuyUK on 2019/05/10 07:01
I have recently come to appreciate twitter as a social platform move over Facebook and anything else that I use. It allows me to stay current with those that keep me focused and stay on track and stay close to those that share similar interests. Twitter does all this with out saying to much or a post being to long winded. Twitter is perfect for me. Thank you 👍🏼

I find that the platform Twitter is amazing great to use and interact with. However the way it polices people right to free speech is ridiculous, the western world is built on the premise that we can have open discussion from both sides of the political divide, please stop stifling anything that is not leftist, discussion is listening to all sides of an argument

So much improvement
by Akash_nu on 2019/05/08 06:33
Twitter as a platform gets used by people for various reasons from current events to catching up with people, from education to politics, from entertainment to argument, from the recent movie trailer to Game Of Thrones spoiler, literally everything is possible on this platform simply because of the nature of it. Personally I use it to stay on top of the news in the tech industry from around the world, and also express my views and emotions on certain things. Twitter is perfect for such requirements. It’s not as heavy and bloated as Facebook and you don’t have to sign your life away just to get on the timeline. Over the years the app has improved significantly to the point that I don’t use any other third party clients anymore. Everything I want to do is possible on the official app. A job well done Twitter team. 👍🏼

Problems Updating Timeline
by CrashTranslation on 2019/05/06 12:28
I’d hoped the official Twitter app would provide the more consistent Twitter experience, however it has a tendency to simply not update the timeline correctly. I can compose a tweet and it won’t appear at all, and when I compared the timeline shown to the web version the one on the app is missing a lot of the most recent tweets (even with both set to show tweets in chronological order). It’s hard to trust that you’re actually seeing the tweets you should and that makes the app almost unusable.

Customise privacy settings please
by ABW32 on 2019/05/03 19:32
Used this app for 10 years and the functionality is almost perfect. The only thing I would like is customisable private accounts like Facebook has. In general I’d like my tweets private but when I @ a company or someone who doesn’t follow me they should be able to see it. Especially as twitter is the main method of communication with brands now. Just a simple option to make certain posts public to the people tagged in them.

Thank you Twitter
by Whiskerpuss on 2019/04/21 09:09
Twitter is far more than most people think. For me it has brought me into a community of wonderful caring people from all walks of life. There is no class system, all are equal. You could be chatting to a scientist or a road sweeper. Twitter is communicating in real-time, unlike the other popular social media platform, so you know there is nearly always someone there to talk to. There are many different clubs that meet on Twitter using hashtags to come together. There is support, both emotional and sometimes financial. Some who are socially isolated or housebound in real time feel part of a community, Twitter is their lifeline. Some who are suffering a personal tragedy or serious illness are supported and some can share celebrations. Some who are lonely have friends and those friends meet in real time ‘tweetups’. Lost or stolen pets can be publicised and sometimes reunited. Yes there are trolls and not everyone who uses Twitter are nice people, but the good outweigh the bad, and it’s easy enough to block them and to warn others to do the same. Twitter is so much more than you can imagine. Twitter is so much more than just a virtual platform.
Customer support is awful
by Hazzater on 2019/04/21 17:21
Usually I use twitter everyday with no issue. However, twitter suspended my account last week for no reason (I haven’t crossed any of the twitter rules) and their customer support for regaining the account is awful. In order to regain my account I have to change my password, but my account is linked to an email address that i don’t have access to, so I can’t change the password or get into the account to change the associated email. I have been going round in circles with their online support system but when I click that I don’t have access to the associated account it just brings me back to the original password change page, which is very frustrating. So basically, I have lost my account that I’ve had for years because twitter wrongfully suspended it. I have been emailing and contacting their support in every way but it’s just all automatic responses which is no help as it’s just telling to to reset my password which I can’t do. This is the last means of contact to twitter that I haven’t yet tried and hope that I can get actual help and support from them.
Cannot change option to view sensitive content
by WormFan65 on 2018/09/09 17:43
I got the Twitter app today to help make viewing the pages of people I’m following easier. The problem is that I can’t find an option to enable the option to view sensitive content, and when I go to tap on the hidden sensitive content, it tells me to enable the option to view sensitive content by tapping on highlighted text reading “Change setting”, which supposedly takes me to the Privacy and safety account settings. The problem with that is that when I go to tap on the text, it didn’t do anything. It’s about as useful as tapping on normal text! After trying multiple times to get my tapping to register on the “Change setting” text, I manually went to Settings and privacy, then Privacy and safety and scrolled down to the Safety section of the tab to find nothing. The closest thing I find to what I was looking for was the option to mark media that *I* Tweet as sensitive content, not the Tweets of others, and that didn’t help at all. Perhaps I accidentally/unknowingly set my age as lower than it really was, and it was blocking the option to view or turn on the option to view the sensitive content of others, but that turned out to seem a bit too complex. Or maybe the option just wasn't coded into the app itself. Regardless, I would really appreciate that this issue be fixed, as it’s doing my head in. Thank you a lot.
Update problem with adding photos to post (iPad)
by PaulM1000 on 2018/10/30 20:53
Update: The issue below seems to have been resolved in the latest update of the app (30 Oct). I use the Twitter app on the iPad on a regular basis, and this app is far better for me than using the PC for both reading and posting tweets. On the iPad Pro (with iOS12), when adding photographs there was a reasonable sized image (up to four per tweet) and the ability to add accessibility text for those who need it. After this latest update, when adding photographs to post, there is now a very small thumbnail image with a big X (close button) covering it, so impossible to check it’s the correct one before posting, and no option to add accessibility text. It still seems to work OK on the iPhone after the update; just the iPad version that has issues with photographs. Otherwise, it is a great app.
It used to be a good app!
by kirsty nicola on 2018/04/07 23:15
I used to use Twitter all the time, but I recently deleted it because I was getting bored. The app was just on my phone, left there and it was unused. However, a few weeks ago I downloaded the app, once again. I made a new account, figuring I would start fresh and try to get back into it. Unfortunately, it told me that I had been locked out of my account, after just a day or two of downloading, I was confused and I had barley used the account! So I gave it another go and made a new account, yet again, the same thing happened. I was getting frustrated and I was not happy, but I decided to give it one last go, as I really used to like Twitter. So I made a new account once again, and I checked up on it today, and there’s a message on my screen saying I’m locked out, once again! I really don’t know what was happening, maybe a glitch or something? But I’m not happy, and for that reason I’m giving Twitter a bad review👎🏼.

I have been part of twitter sphere for many years.. however I deleted old accounts re evaluated what and who I wanted to associate myself with. So recently I came back and now I'm having the time of my life with the app.. I have a great community of friends all like minded and here for the same thing. To communicate, share and like one another's posts. I love that it's not all drama orientated and filled with people rowing over petty stupid nonsense. I truly have found an amazing community through this app.. the app has come along in leaps and bounds.. introducing many new features including the longer letter count. Enabling you to express and communicate better without having to edit your posts over and over again. So in all happy to be part of an amazing growing community and look forward to it growing and changing over the years.
Love and hate
by Princess Chione on 2018/04/17 07:17
I love that it’s not Facebook. So, being part of a movement without having to sift through the stuff that my partner tells me floods his FB feed, (he’s part of the same movement) that’s one of the joy. What I hate, is Twitter time-out/jail. Maybe it’s policed by cats, randomly pushing buttons, because it’s maddeningly haphazard and arbitrary. Why the gubbins they can’t tell users how/in which tweet, they erred, when they get put on the “naughty-step”, is bewildering. Thereafter, as further punishment, I'm sure they effectively mute or downgrade your tweets, as well. So ‘doing the time’ isn’t enough?! I think it should be like when Pinterest remove a pin, you get an email advising what the “offending” pin was. I’m ALL FOR keeping twitter safe and I’m careful with use of language. This is one of the major elements on Twitter that needs more thought. It may become a ‘divorcing offence’ for me, if they don’t get it together. I’d probably get more work done then, too!
Needs a subscription model
by Chris26281 on 2019/04/21 21:43
Over the years Twitter has introduced more and more ads to the app in various different ways. Initially it was a few ads scattered across your timeline every so often and were often unobtrusive. Fast forward to today and now there are UNSKIPPABLE ads embedded into almost every video you can find throughout your timeline. Granted they are usually only 5 or so seconds but when you end up going through 10 of those in just 5 minutes, that means about 10% of those 5 minutes we’re watching ads. Seriously, I get that Twitter has to make money but this is ridiculous, just introduce a subscription model please, I would happily pay like £2/3 per month or something like that to completely eliminate all ads throughout the app. No need to push it onto people or anything but just have it as an option at the very least.
Don’t even bother
by fed up twitter user on 2018/05/25 01:47
Recently I deactivated my account for a little while with the intention to reactivate before the 30 day limit. When I reactivated my following count was restored but my followers count was and still is 0. After waiting 48 hours and logging in an out numerous times I sent a report which was ignored so I sent another which was replied to saying that the issue was resolved, but it wasn’t, so I complained again at which point they informed me that the engineers are aware of this bug and they ‘hope’ to find a fix soon. What absolute bs, first of all if they were aware of this bug then they should’ve made users aware too so that we wouldn’t lose all of our followers, secondly what is ‘hope’, this is a well established app and all they can do is ‘hope’ to find a fix? The lack of support and reassurance is very disappointing. I’ll probably just delete my entire account as I’ve lost THOUSANDS of followers and there’s really no point trying to get them all back.
One stop information shop
by Badwolf.74 on 2019/03/03 11:20
I use Twitter for up to date news, sports scores, road and rail travel information and I communicate with some of my service providers via Twitter too ie Three mobile and my energy supplier. I also like to follow my local police who tweet regularly on the going’s on in my area good and bad. I like the fact I get to see relevant tweets from people and groups I follow as a notification so I rarely open the app as all the info i want is in my phone notification centre. To sum up the Twitter app its my go to place to get the relevant information and news I need, and as I don’t follow friends family or z list celebrities I don’t get bogged down with all the other stuff that seems to happen on other platforms like Facebook & Instagram.
Shadowban Epidemic & Missing Replies
by MartinsBitch on 2018/04/21 23:48
Twitter is meant to be a form of Social Media, with the emphasis on “Social” especially for the 1000’s of people suffering from loneliness, depression, anxiety and illnesses that leave them housebound and/or without physical socialisation, so it’s extremely upsetting that Twitters algorithms are so messed up that people are now getting Shadowbanned because these broken algorithms think the people are Bots. And the whole “Missing Replies” saga, where your wee speech bubble shows you’ve a reply to your Tweet but when you click on it, there’s nothing there! Notification Bans too... And no amount of Tweeting to Support gets us anywhere, let’s face it though, it’s an automated service that goes round and round in circles and you never get a reply/response/or fix ~ Where’s the Human Customer Support? I think the powers that be need to get their fingers out their well payed pies and realise that they should be looking after their customers!!! You are putting peoples lives at risk!
Very good, but needs more customisation with notifications
by Alex JT on 2018/05/03 20:06
Really liking this app now – it’s been well developed but still needs ways of optimising what I see so I don’t miss things. I’ve always been surprised that the mobile app doesn’t have any sort of Tweetdeck option and this is a feature that is desperately lacking. What really lets this app down is the lack of customisation for push notifications. I receive notifications when certain people tweet, but some of them retweet things so often that I’d like to be able to choose whether I want retweets by them included in what I’m notified about. At the moment, my choice is “None”, “All Tweets”, “Only Tweets With live video”. Desperately needs an “All Tweets, excluding retweets” option. Until then, three stars – more improvement needed but this app is certainly on the up 👍🏻
Love you twitter
by René M C on 2019/04/26 11:16
Twitter is the heart of social media. It works in real time and never disappoints. I always need my daily dose of twitter. I love that you can get your opinions across in any way shape or form and people will either agree or disagree with it. It’s simpler to use than most of you think. It looks kind of daunting when you first download it but give it a chance and it might surprise you. I rely on twitter for news updates. It’s incredibly personalised and you never have to complicate matters. I love the community on there. You can form a whole network with people who enjoy the same things you do or believe in the same things you do. 1000 times better than Facebook and snapchat and instagram
Advertising
by ediemaejohnson on 2017/12/30 08:19
Personally, I am perfectly fine with advertising. But I really think they should base the adverts off of what you search or who you follow. Like if I follow someone in the musical theatre, I want to have adverts that would catch my interest, and it’s about musical theatre. Other than the advertising, I think the app is amazing. I love the fact that I can see what’s trending around the world and I can see moments based on celebrities or other topics, and even who I follow/follows me. When you report somebody, they give you a quick reply. I reported someone for impersonating recently and they sent me an email and a notification on the app itself. Twitter is amazing. 👍
Amazing but issue with unlocking account
by PrxncessDD on 2019/04/22 20:45
I will be honest I had made a twitter account when I was 11 but didn’t start using it till I was 16, I had corrected my age as I used an older age and it locked my account and I had submitted to get it back, it has been over six months and I haven’t been able to get it back so it is quite upsetting. Other than that twitter is absolutely amazing and it is one of those apps that it takes time for you to appreciate it but once you do, it’s an app that u would use more than any other social media. Twitter is such an amazing app and I would like to give it 5 stars but the service for unlocking accounts is too much of a long wait period.
Twitter 🦉
by Rona Ryanne on 2018/11/13 16:33
This app is a great way to post your feelings and get closer to see what famous people post too, there’s only a slight problem, you can easily click on a someone’s profile if it holds quite adult content so if you want block them you have to click on their profile see all the adult content then block them. I think it would be easier if there was a few buttons, when you click on those sort of profiles to say do you want to view, block or report this profile. I just think it would be much better for Twitter if there wasn’t so many of these sort of profiles and it would help stop these people posting these sort of things.
Twitter
by thisweirdpotato on 2018/12/28 07:17
I got twitter and I was really excited because of all the positive reviews but I was very let down. After I downloaded it, I didn't go on the app for a few weeks. When I went on it again, apparently I got suspended when I didn't even do anything. I went onto the website to see why and I thought it was just because a hacker was trying to get into my account so I just brushed it aside and made a new account. I followed some people and didn't go on it for some days and I saw that I wasn't following anybody and then after I didn't go on it again and when I came back, was suspended AGAIN for some reason. I don't think that was because a hacker was trying to get into my account because it was happening again. I didn't know if it was a coincidence or not. Please fix this and unsuspend my account because I didn't do anything wrong.
Not my timeline
by I hate tech on 2018/09/16 11:35
Twitter long since lost its way. Fundamentally, ot makes changes that affect my ability to dip in and view my updates. It sorts it prioritises, it keeps (endlessly) telling me ‘in case you missed it’ such that notifications are useless now. Fundamentally, this app is not at the centre of my life, I use it when I want to catch up on what is happening NOW, not be showed what Twitter thinks I want to see. Every single filter to a timeline should be user led and user settable. Instead, I get what I’m given and it has meant that instead of dipping in through. My days, I now visit maybe once a month. Now they want to put relevant events ‘at the top’ of my timeline. I use a phone app, how much screen do I have to scroll before I find what I want to actually see?!!! What made twitter great has been lost entirely in trying to be Facebook. For me, those are two entirely separate social circles. The sooner we are allowed to segment our lives as we choose instead of being forced to merge everything in one messy and constraining soup, the better. Consider; if your mum was at that club last night, if your boss turned up at a family lunch, how comfortable would that be?
Needlessly Frustrating
by Ruby987764 on 2017/10/14 12:28
It would be nice if the next update got rid of the "Message could not be sent at this time" pop up that interrupts you constantly while direct messaging. Not only does it disrupt your typing but most of the time the message sends fine a second later anyway. But if it doesn't then it's time to play do I tap the red ! until it finally gives me the option to delete or try sending again (nah, I changed my mind about saying this, thanks for having my back, Twitter! Shame this doesn't exist on Internet forums XP ) or to just copy paste the message which is faster but often means I'm repeating myself to the person I'm talking to.
Twitter gets worse day by day
by el Lewy on 2017/10/14 11:07
Twitter went from the best social media platform to use in 2014, to the worst. The app is a disgrace. The profile used to be at the bottom of the screen for easy access, however now you have to click in the top left and click again. Then they took the read all button out of the messages, why? I have to trail through spam to get to my genuine messages. Thanks Twitter. Then completely halting automation. Small businesses and entertainers are going to suffer for that as well. Your advertisement platform is bad, and reading tweets in random order is even worse. I don’t get how you could of gradually made it frustrating to use Twitter. I hope you make the step to actually listen to our users or you’re gonna be the next Bebo soon enough.
Twitter has become very annoying
by ajhazy21 on 2017/10/11 16:12
I used to love Twitter, but now I seem to spend more time scrolling through “what you might have missed” even though I didn’t miss it and advertising. Also the app doesn’t reopen where I last finished. It seems to open at random points and leaves me looking at tweets that I have just scrolled through. What was wrong with looking at chronological tweets. If I miss something who cares if it was important then someone will retweet it at some point. Please rectify these issues Twitter as I don’t think I can take it much longer. I am sure there are other platforms which provide a simple way of getting up-to-date info without the stress you cause in my life. Fix it please!!!!
Twitter is so entertaining
by carlenerayeL on 2018/08/02 09:59
The people I follow on twitter are so entertaining that I can’t help but check the timeline every morning. I respect Twitter because it’s such a big platform that people can use to get important messages out, like missing people or heartwarming stories. It really can make your day. It’s also easy to find the latest news on Twitter and celebrity updates if you follow them. Twitter is easy to use and extremely convenient. They also offer a darker presentation of the app for weaker eyes which I find very considerate and prefer to use.
Going downhill
by Seagull4a on 2018/01/20 13:42
Used to love the Twitter app and especially the way it makes it so easy to swap from one account to another when tweeting personally or on behalf of work. That still works! But everything else is going downhill when using Twitter on the iPad. The names of Twitter contacts no longer come up when you are tweeting and wanting to refer to one of them... I get half way through typing a tweet and half of that then disappears... My notifications are full of things I don’t want, need or have interest in - and no matter how many notification options I turn off it makes no difference. Come on Twitter, get your act together please!
Hmm
by doctor_calv on 2018/03/05 17:10
I'm unsure if my app has been glitching recently but whenever I have a conversation within a tweet thread, the tweets appear as individual tweets on my timeline instead of collected together in a stream. It's so frustrating as I now have no idea which tweets are linked to which conversation. This has only started happening recently, it might just be a glitch so hopefully it's ironed out in the next update. Other than that, it's an absolutely fantastic app. Probably the best form of social media right now, Facebook Instagram and Snapchat have all been plagued by adverts and very stupid updates. Twitter wins!
LOCKED OUT OF MY ACCOUNT
by Caitlin👍🏻 on 2018/07/13 14:20
I’m 16 years of age and I’ve had twitter for over a year, recently I was asked to submit my date of birth. So I wrote it in and I was then locked out of my account. I then had to send an email to my mother so that she could allow me to use twitter. There’s just one problem... they wanted a copy of my BIRTH CERTIFICATE and my mother’s PASSPORT... guess I’m waiting till I’m 17 to use twitter. Very disappointed because I loved twitter, but I feel that giving away that much information is an invasion of privacy. TWITTER SORT IT OUT!! UPDATE: despite sending a copy of my birth certificate to twitter, I haven’t had my account back. I’ve restarted my account and when I looked up my old account, it was completely gone. Still very annoyed. But at least I am now able to make a new account 👩🏼‍💻
My Twitter family’s so good to me
by Mariesmagic on 2019/01/26 14:21
I have only been on Twitter with my wondercats since 2016 I can honestly say that I have only ever received love and support from my Twitter family I lost my princess at the end of December 2017 and if it wasn’t for my Twitter friends I don’t think I would have at least come to terms with losing her and getting my last Siamese kitten last July I don’t have political talk atall but unlike instagram and Facebook who I feel is very abusive I have a lot of support and love from Twitter I now won’t associate with instagram or Facebook
Locked out after less than 12 hours
by VeeLen974 on 2018/11/30 17:59
Is the app on iPhone X bugging? I created a twitter account less than 24hours ago. I created this account after downloading the app on my iPhone X. Still from my phone, I selected around 10 or so people/organisations from my industry to follow. I logged in again a few hours later around 8.30am, to be told I had been locked out because of some suspicious activity on my account or a suspect account use (I think... I can’t quite remember the terminology used). I was given the opportunity to reset it by clicking Start. They asked for my log in number, which I never gave when setting up, so I gave my email address instead. Then I was directed to a screen to check I wasn’t a robot. There was nothing on that screen, apart from the sentence ‘Are you a robot?’. I cannot click on anything, I cannot get out of it. I tried to use Help, but Twitter redirects me to the ‘Are you a robot?’ blank screen every few seconds. I uninstalled the app, reinstalled it and logged into my account again, only to land on the very same ‘Are you a robot?’ blank screen again! What do I do???
Does everything I expected
by WallysL1 on 2017/12/19 15:07
I’m new to Twitter so have no knowledge of what came before. The nature of all social media platforms makes them difficult to understand at firs and, as with all apps, it’s a matter of learning as you try different features. Thus far, I cannot fault this app on anything and it deserves a 5-star rating. As for the complexities of Facebook . . . That platform blows the mind at first because there’s so much to get your head round! Twitter is a bit more straightforward for a novice like me on social media.
Best social media app there is..!
by Maca1kanobi on 2019/04/25 15:28
I stand by my statement above, Twitter has personally helped me through tough times and opened my world up to new friends and contacts. I’ve tried the other social media apps and none compare to Twitter for myself..! I use it daily and it’s an amazing tool for all if used correctly. Whatever your hobbies or past times are you’ll find pages to help. I couldn’t imagine not having this available to use anymore. I’m disabled and it has gave me back a social life.
Great app mostly
by W Bole on 2018/09/25 00:53
Superb apps Fantastic news feed, with the relevant, recent posts always being the most visible. The “in case you missed it” feature is a nice touch that allows for this. For me, twitter is by far the best way of interacting with friends on social media. No feeling better than a tweet getting an unexpected number of likes. Only downside is the video player. The sound is always dreadfully glitchy and the display often freezes unexpectedly. Messaging system isn’t brilliant, but that’s not really twitter’s main feature, so not much of an issue.
Twitters Chaotic administration of your account
by Aster0s on 2019/04/23 21:04
I’ve used my twitter account sensibly with no nasty tweets. When I was shocked ho find that someone had stolen my account and is actually using it and I get a message from twitter to say my accounts been suspended. Support keep saying that the email I give them is not associated with that account yet they still send me emails on that account and I can log into the suspended account and change the password but cannot log-into it . Twitter will not respond to any of my requests for support only autobot replies I cannot speak to anyone. His account picture is actually showing in my accounts list this is a serious glitch which they refuse to fix and get my account back . That’s why 1 star
Can’t delete rt
by Maaadzha on 2018/08/05 15:34
So recently I decided that I should get back on Twitter since I have the app but haven’t used it in a while. I wanted to delete some old stuff that I have tweeted or retweeted but here’s the thing. It deletes my own tweets but I’ve spent like an hour and a half pressing “undo retweet” on almost every single retweet I had and little did I know that once I’ll turn off the app and go back, all those retweets are still going to appear on my profile but now one after another. I tried to delete some again but every time I refresh the app, they still appear on my profile so basically if I ever retweeted something by mistake or someone would mess with my profile, I wouldn’t even be able to delete it..
Messy timeline
by gabzzila on 2018/05/18 05:19
I've been using twitter for 9 years and although there were good changes over time there were some that make me hate my timeline. The latest updates are unbearable. Out of ten new tweets 3 or for will be "tweets liked by someone I follow". These liked tweets are from random time, sometimes minutes old, sometimes 9 hrs old. I don't care if I miss a tweet. I don't care what people I follow liked. It's my timeline. I'm a grown up and perfectly capable of making my own choices. If I want to see someone's older tweets, I'll check their account and scroll down. I don't need unwanted help. Twitter seems to be making it really difficult for other apps (who keep the timeline linear) to keep up with other features.
Can you stop changing me back to home
by Thinkthesame on 2019/05/01 07:35
I really like Twitter and the app doesn’t get in the way, most of the time, it’s not buggy and It just works. But the one thing that I didn’t like was reading a reaction to a tweet that I hand seen the original tweet yet because the tweets weren’t in chronological order. Then an update brought the option to put the tweets into chronological order, YEAH. But for some reason it keeps turn back to the “home” order. Not sure when it revert but it not clear enough for me to notice when it has and it is just annoying. Please stop it changing, but if you won’t how about a pop up telling me it has reverted.
Twitter support issues
by beccysmed on 2018/08/09 21:37
I really enjoy the app but when trying to use twitter support it’s really frustrating; for example, I’ve been locked out of my account for being underage at the time my account was created, but I’m now 18 so should be able to use the app. Although I’ve sent proof of identification and followed the steps twitter support has given me, the proof still isn’t accepted and I’m still not being allowed back onto my account. What would be much more helpful would be if users could talk to a twitter support member individually instead of having a general support team; problems would likely be solved at a much faster rate.
I can’t use my account??
by Milkshake668 on 2018/11/28 19:50
My twitter account has been fine but I wanted to make a new account while keeping my current one logged in and I had issues, so I decided to update the app. Once it updated I tried to log into my first account and it logged in. However I got a pop up saying I need to update my account settings, so I did. But once I submitted it, it says ‘Error. Please try again later’. I tried the following day many times and even deleted the app and re- downloaded it. I also changed my password but I still have this issue. What’s wrong with it?? I’m let down and I don’t want to lose my account
Great usually.
by 94mkay on 2018/08/27 22:02
Lately my notifications haven't been coming through, you're fixing to many things that don't need fixing and not paying attention to the stuff that does need fixing. The latest update is glitchy, my timeline never loads despite my notifications and dm’s working perfectly fine. I know people are online and tweeting, I know that I have access to the internet so the fact my timeline isn’t working is frustrating. It’s every time I’m not online for a long period of time. I do have a life outside twitter amazingly. EDIT: THIS IS STILL AN ISSUE!! THERE’S BEEN AN UPDATE SINCE AND ONCE AGAIN YOU HAVEN’T FIXED THE PROBLEMS THAT NEEDED FIXING. I WILL DEACTIVATE IF THIS CONTINUES.
Won’t let me create another account.
by Domo6 on 2018/06/23 23:04
I set up a football related account and ended up getting suspended because I used a quote from a film as a joke. Both my accounts got suspended even though the other one was nothing to do with it. When I’ve tried setting up other football related accounts it keeps telling me my account is suspended and won’t let me follow anyone even though my other one is now fine. I’ve emailed twitter a couple of times but nobody has got back to me!! They are quick enough to suspend your account but won’t get back to explain why I can’t set up a fresh football account. SO ANNOYING 😡😡
Completely broken
by Just1KidOFFICIAL on 2018/05/27 07:49
I use Twitter every day, at least I used to until they falsely limited my account features because apparently making fun of someone who’s trying to harass people is a “violent threat”. It’s been over a week since the limitation so I should be able to use it by now, but yesterday I opened my Twitter to find that a flashing error along the lines of “Oops try again later” kept popping up on my screen and I could only see tweets from 2 days ago. Along with that, I can’t interact with anyone, tweet anything, like anything because the error pops up every 3 seconds. If anyone knows a fix for this then I’d be really happy. Locked out of account???
by Caitlol333 on 2018/08/13 16:17
I was using twitter and decided to change my d.o.b but when I did it locked me out of my account, simply because I made a Twitter account before I was 13, I mean why lock me out of my account for a mistake I made in the past like why can’t they focus on the people doing that now, they should of been tighter with their security back then, I have tried to contact customer services but to no avail it just sent me a link to a useless website, they don’t even bother to read the messages you send them it’s just Ann as I have been a user of twitter for a long time (sorry for the long rant) btw twitter shut down my old account so I had to make a new one 🙄
Sick to death of twitter.
by cringeyemomusiclistener28 on 2018/05/31 09:46
Every time I log in to my twitter account, I can’t see anything. No tweets, no messages, no nothing. It won’t even let me go into the settings to log out or deactivate it. All twitter does is keep coming up with a message saying, “Oops, something went wrong. Please try again later.” I tried to contact twitter help and send messages but my account would not let me at all. I can’t even make a new account without twitter coming up with that same message and kicking me off. I’ve tried uninstalling the app, but it makes no difference. Have I been hacked? Because I haven’t done anything that violates the terms of service or broken the rules...Please help
Keeps getting better
by Barnet_ on 2018/04/16 18:35
Love twitter for all things from connecting to bands and famous people to the news on many topics. Just one thing would be helpful is I wish Tweets & replies section on someone’s profile was viewed first and the persons profile tweets second. It makes my account look inactive as I’ve recently replied to a lot of things but I haven’t retweeted or tweeted a lot of things, would be helpful in a way :)) keep up the good work thou!
Too many notifications
by British Feedback on 2018/06/03 21:54
In Twitter I expect a few notifications, maybe this person has liked your tweet or this person has replied to your tweet but I draw a line when it comes to me waking up and have loads of notifications that I don’t even care about. Do I really care that Dua Lipa has liked Ariana Grande’s post about the bath bomb she got yesterday? I know that I follow these people but the notification system is aggravating at times. I still like this app though a I recommend it!
More customisation please
by Ellielikes on 2018/08/01 12:07
The app feels quite basic but does pretty much everything you need. To improve the service it must be easier to customise the app. I follow too many accounts and struggle to keep up so I like my lists. They’re useful when I just want to check specific things like friends, news, jobs, politics or my favourite comedians. My biggest problem is that I can’t arrange lists in the order I prefer to check them. My favourites are at the bottom and I wish there was a way for me to change this and save time.

Too pushy
by JimConnolly on 2019/05/19 10:29
In Twitter’s push to increase user engagement, the app now ‘pushes’ unwanted, zero value tweets to the top of the timeline.

As a large social media site you would have though they have competent employees that can create a system which makes this a lot easier to get around.

by Tracyipad on 2019/05/16 21:57
Absolutely loved this app until just recently when, for some unknown reason, Twitter decided to make so that all locked accounts tweets show up as “Tweet unavailable”.

Top Tweets again?
by brindy666 on 2019/05/13 05:59

Twitter is a great platform for academic researchers
by drprior on 2019/05/12 09:55
I use Twitter for academic networking and raising awareness of rheumatic and musculoskeletal conditions. It’s great for meeting new people working in the same area and expanding one’s academic network, as well as disseminating research publications. If I were to only use one social media platform, it would definitely be Twitter.
Choice
by Zebs22000 on 2019/05/12 08:07

Thank you 👍🏼

by RoyM on 2019/05/10 06:36

Twitter morality police.
by Key72uk on 2019/05/08 15:05
I find that the platform Twitter is amazing great to use and interact with.

Having been supporting Man U for over 60 years I have never been more disappointed with a team of underperforming players they are a disgrace to wear the shirt of such a famous and distinguished football club, the board have a lot to answer for the way they have conducted business since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson.. I am sure all supporters would love to see teams give their all like the ones who played under Matt Busby and Sir Alex when wearing the shirt meant something. Very upset “ Old Fan “ Michael Walker

Global News & Local connections
by Smegly on 2019/05/02 06:49
I’ve used Twitter for some years & use it for professional news & views, music & Singing virtual community & for global news. It’s also good for local connectivity among the local network of individuals & groups.
In the beginning

In the beginning, all was great and then... people. Love Twitter’s original ethos, hate what bullies have weaponised it into.
Twitter
by Lil_g_martin on 2018/08/09 05:57
I have been part of twitter sphere for many years.. however I deleted old accounts re evaluated what and who I wanted to associate myself with.
Twitters Chaotic administration of your account

But then again, this is an app review.
