Studio Six have consistently upgraded all the apps in this suite, making it to go to audio measurement app. The results tally with our professional measurement tools to the point that, once you’ve calibrated it, you really can trust the results.

This app WAS a really good tool for testing and measurements on the road but the latest update has rendered it useless on my iPhone 6. Bass levels are constantly showing high even when completely absent and high frequencies barely show. It seems some internal mic filtering is going on which can't be adjusted around despite resets or gain settings adjustment. Save your money until it's fixed.
File transfer?!?!?
by Gingerpimp0069 on 2014/09/21 18:28
Are you guys crazy!? The interface is clunky but acceptable, the mic seems ok but transferring and using any of the recordings plots or files - don't waste your time unless you want to waste a day chasing 'Terminal' based tips on extracting and using .bin files. Come on, solve the operating problems or can the app!!!
Great bit of software
by Profile productions on 2014/08/06 13:24
Yes it can be expensive, especially the smaart add on, but let's be honest everything in pro audio is expensive! Support is 100% updates are well thought out. And the developers are open to suggestions. Keep up the good work guys (just waiting for my imic to be delivered. The only thing I would like is a more reliable file transfer system, maybe to an external hard drive of some sorts? (That way I can leave it in a waterproof box monitoring for long periods of time)

Iv been working as a sound engineer for a number of years now and I would not rate this app at all. It's inaccurate at the best of times and I would defiantly not trust it in any professional sense. In short, if your looking to do something good with sound do not waste your money,

I needed an accurate way of characterising sounds I use in psychological experiments. Most labs use cheap sound meters that have a limited frequency range and do not report unweighted decibel measurements. Professional sound meters that do what I need costs thousands of £. Thus, as an alternative I bought this app and I am using it with iAudioInterface, which adds a calibrated microphone to the system. The app works flawlessly and as far as I can tell is accurate. The system appears to be aimed at the sound engineering and noise monitoring markets, but app and add-in modules have been a godsend to my lab. I had hoped that science companies would realise that one can stick a sensor on an iPhone/Pod/Pad and use the CPU and interface that Apple developed and deliver a top-notch measurement package. This is an example of how it's done. To those that whine about the in-app purchases needed to get specialist measuring modules, all I can say is that a system from a traditional supplier that offers the same capabilities would cost as much as 10 times the price of iAudioInterface plus an iPod plus AudioTools plus all the in-app modules combined. To me, AudioTools/iAudioInterface is a bargain, and the in-app costs with which some reviewers have taken issue are not 'hidden' but clearly listed. Update: the new version adds significant capabilities. For my purposes the difference mode in the FFT allows me to isolate specific tones from background noise in my lab. All in all, a fine piece of engineering. Kudos to the developer.

Iv been working as a sound engineer for a number of years now and I would not rate this app at all. It's inaccurate at the best of times and I would defiantly not trust it in any professional sense. In short, if your looking to do something good with sound do not waste your money,
OK

It's an OK app, however I wish I hadn't bought it All the bits you really want are extras and not included and £35 for one of the bolt ons to an already expensive app is not for me. Wish iTunes would allow refunds as I would be out of this one A shame
Pay and pay again

So I bought this. You have to pay more to unlock the apps. Waste of money.
A work of art....

U still have to pay another 30 pounds for the impulse response and other bits.. Be careful

Very impressed from the start and over the last few months the updates have been a massive help. We use this tool / app pretty much on every job and the next step is to buy the audio tools mic kit with smarrt ! So thanks guys and please keep the work up :) From Tim and all the team @ www.truesoundhire.co.uk Faultless app :)

Excellent app which now includes the FFT free. (was £13.99-UK) Bolt ons are not cheap so be sure of your requirements. Also superb and fast customer support through Studio Six. Very pleased.
Great app - a must for ToDs and Ed.Auds

I find the pro SLM invaluable and ETC gives me a good estimate of RT. A great App & mentioned in the September issue of the national magazine for the British Association of Teachers of the Deaf.
